Lord bless you you may move to your seats we greet you this Sunday morning in the wonderful precious name of Jesus what a privilege it is to be back in the house of the Lord with every one of you I can preach an extra hour tomorrow I won't take that to heart I promise you and I do say I'm glad to see you in the house of the Lord and Bishop thank you for your kind words turning 66 I'm not sure if he was classifying me as a young or a gezer uh But whichever thank you for your kind words I'm excited about getting into the word of the Lord this morning how about you I want to hear from Heaven I want to hear what God has for us it's not by my might with my words but by the spirit of the Lord that we will hear from him I would call your attention this morning to the book of First Corinthians the 2 chapter for it follows this very theme First Corinthians the 2 chapter we'll begin reading at verse number one 1 Corinthians 2:1 and I Brethren when I came to you came not with Excellency of speech or of wisdom declaring unto you the testimony of God for I determined not to know anything among you save Jesus J Christ and him crucified and I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling and my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's Wisdom notice this statement but in demonstration of the spirit and of power that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God for a few moments this morning I would speak to the church on this subject the power of a demonstration the power of a demonstration let's pray savior I Love You Lord we're so grateful for every individual that's in this house Lord you deemed it be so Lord now I pray that your word would speak to our hearts not of my wisdom or excellence in speech but lord of the power of your word I pray for all those who are joining us on the multimedia platforms Lord that they would receive and feel the same presence that we so feel in this house of your power God be with us in all that we do in Jesus name we pray amen the power of a demonstration from X to Instagram Facebook to social media the infomercial is still the Rage of advertising yes even late night TV program still is filled with 30 minute infomercials one article I read said it this way we've all been there it's 3:00 a.m. after hours of tossing and turning and bad television watching sleep deprivation and consumer curiosity getting The Best of You by the third time that the wax vax commercial airs you realize that the pitchmen are right Q-tips are dangerous to your eardrums so you dial the toll-free number rattle off your AMX digits and play a key role in what has become A50 billion doll industry called infomercials I found according to productivity the 10 best selling infomercial products and I will not ask anyone to raise your hand if you own any of these things but you can pray about it for yourself number one proactive acne system fancy word for zit cream $1 billion dollar annual revenue from infomercials P90X hardcore workout system $400 million annually total gem total sales1 billion dollar that Chuck Norris and Christy Brinkley gets a cut of the George Foreman grill annual revenue $22 million I guess you get that Grill and eat and then have to buy those other things to work out the both Flex another exercise machine annual revenue 193. n million Showtime rotisserie total sales $1.2 billion set it and forget it a small Rotisserie Oven do I go on sure the pet egg the up close demonstration of the Ped Egg in action scrubbing away dead skin and calluses grow approximately $450 million in sales oh and the infamous snuggy was number eight that's the blanket with sleeves approximately $400 million in sales sweating to the oldies was number nine the total sales approximately $200 million and finally the in the 10th Place the infamous th Master at sales of100 million the reason the infomercials apparently were so successful is because they demonstrate their product they don't just tell you about it they don't just give you some directions but there's a demonstration takes place yes honor mention had something called the flowy a haircut procedure the popel Pocket Fisherman and yes even some of y'all somewhere in your window sill may have a Chia Pet hanging around but these gadgets and products have all been successful in sales because of an infomercial that demonstrates their effectiveness or at least supposed Effectiveness YouTube demonstration videos are one of the most popular viewed items on YouTube it's one thing for somebody to read the directions and try to follow them someone can even tell you how to accomplish a task oh but when you get to see a demonstration that's when that I can do this genan kick sin I believe I can do that if they can do that I believe I can do that a demonstration defined as an act process or means of demonstrating to the intellect conclusive evidence proof showing to a perspective buyer the merits of a product a public display of group feelings toward a person or a cause Paul said I came not with Excellency of speech not with rhetorical ability not with pic prowess not with hermeneutical Excellence not in man's Wisdom not to know anything but Jesus Christ and him crucified but in demonstration of the spirit of the power of God let me tell you it's one thing for us to tell people how powerful God is it's one thing for us to say read your Bible and it's important to read it and studying it but it's something else when you can experience a demonstration of the power of God falling among his people you see I can't describe it I can't tell y'all about it or I can be a witness to say what it was like I can tell you about when I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost when I was at a camp meeting when I was just a child what it was like to go to the Altar and experience that oh I can give you my personal testimony but listen you will never be satisfied till Jesus comes into your life personally and you have the power of the Holy Ghost to fall on you you need a demonstration we need a demonstration in this house it's one thing for me to tell you what it's like to have a sin-filled life and come to an altar of repentance and feel the forgiving power of God but I can tell you about it I can read a repentance to you but until you experience what it's like to be made clean by the almighty power of God you will not know what it's really like I can give you the scriptures I can tell you all about why you need to be baptized in the name of Jesus I can give you a Bible study explaining the scriptural responsibility that we have in the essentiality but until you experience it for yourself of being buried in water in the name of Jesus going down a center and coming up clean wash clean you have to experience it for yourself Paul was telling the Corinthian Church it's time the power of God be introduced in action in the church we can read about it we can tell about it but can we demonstrate it when God Falls I ask you ask yourself this question if someone ask you what kind of church do you attend oh I I attend this church I attend that I oh what does it mean to go to an Apostolic church I submit to you there's some things that we can describe and Define but the important most important thing is that there must be a demonstration of the power of God every time we get together and have church we can't afford one bad service we can't afford one service without the power of God being demonstrated in this house I say it before and I'll say it again if we'll do our part God will do his part if we'll show up he'll show out guests and visitors are not coming into this house looking for another mainstream Evangelical Charismatic Church they want a demonstration of the real power of God God but preacher how can we demonstrate it with our worship with our praise with our singing with our testimonies the psalmist said it this way he said Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord he didn't say let a Joyful Noise happen that lets me know there's some preparation on our part there's some things we need to make happen we are not Supernatural we're natural but if we'll prepare ourselves if we'll give our best effort to give praise and adoration and glorify God he'll show up and he'll demonstrate his power I can't make it happen I can just do my part to give him praise he said he inhabits the praise of Israel which are his people we are now all his people if you want him here you need to praise him I said if you want Jesus in this place you need to know how to praise him oh Hallelujah the Holy Ghost is in this house right now now look I get it some would call this emotionalism I get where you're coming from we are creatures of emotion God made me this way oh I don't believe we ought to get emotional huh I've seen some of you folks get mad anger is an emotion too oh I may as well go there it's Sunday morning now some of the very ones that are so afraid of emotion put your black mode on last night if you don't know what I'm talking about thank God you worried and sweat and cheered and and and E every time your team scored you went absolutely crazy I mean they had folks there with a concerted effort we're going to cheer together we're going to be loud but somehow it has been falsely told to the church that the only way we can glorify God is with quiet reverence I've got news for you there's a time to have quiet reverence but there's an all also a time to make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord there's a time to shout there's a time to dance that's scripture as well I'm hearing I want you to hear me God shows up yeah yeah yeah that's what I'm talking about sometimes a creature of emotion I got to dance I hear me on this Sunday morning I refuse to be intimidated by the worship of the world and tell me I can't get excited when I think about all the Lord has done for [Applause] me our political parties will have their rallies and their demonstrations they have demonstration time they set it aside and proudly announce how many votes they have for their candidate they'll wear flat hats and blow horns and drop confetti but oh don't get too excited in church you can be seated that's oh listen God's not hard of hearing you don't have to yell at him yeah he's not nervous either my God's not nervous either my God knows what kind of creature he may now look I realize we're all going to worship different you're not going to worship like me I'm not going to worship like you I've been in servic where one would run and one would lift their hands I've been in Services where one would cry and one would laugh and they were all having a good time serving God so here never mistake I'm not telling you telling you you got to do things like me but you got to do something I need a demonstration not for me I'm saying I need to demonstrate my pray praise and worship before God because Paul was telling the Corinthian Church that's where the power of the Holy Ghost is Manifest oh Hallelujah we need to manifest Christ not just when we're in the confines of this building we've been preaching before yeah it's Sunday but Monday's on the way there needs to be a manifestation of the Holy Ghost in your life Monday morning when you go to work there needs to be outward and inward Holiness expressed in everything you do the way you conduct yourself the way you talk your honesty your integrity your interpersonal relationship with folks you don't know and for God's sake you know how to treat the people you do know and love with respect husbands and wives getting along well you didn't know I was going there did you having respect and care for one another having respect and care for for your fellow Saints staying off of social media when you start trying to criticize and trying to degrade others but they said it first don't matter my daddy taught me a long time ago that a good dog can wh whip a skunk anytime but sometimes it just ain't worth the stink there's some stuff you ought to not even get involved with it isn't worth it elevate Christ in your life everything you do e every post you make you know what would help a lot of folks get just as angry as you want to with both thumbs I mean I mean put put together the most vital thing you can think of of and then read it and delete it don't send it if you just got to be that honor and mean read it to yourself and delete it and let the power of the Holy Ghost direct you to take care of and fight some battles that you've been trying to fight that you're never going to win get that stuff off of your Social boy I'm all I'm shooting all over the tree this morning listen we're better than that the Holy Ghost needs to be demonstrated in our lives in everything we do we need to be exemplifying Christ so he can show up teach your kids how to love their fellow students and how to love their friends not to be bullies and [Music] burish you know how else we can demonstrate the power of Christ is through Doctrine not being arguing argumentive not being confrontational but knowing and loving and presenting the word with love second Timothy 4 said it this way I charge thee therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing in his kingdom preach the word there still needs to be preaching in the church Preach the word be instant in season out of season reprove rebuke exhort with all long and Doctrine for the time will come when they will not endure sound Doctrine but after their own lust shall Heap themselves teachers having itching ears and they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned to fables I didn't come to preach anybody happy today I do hope I can preach you holy cuz when you get holy you'll get happy in the old vernacular this ain't Burger King you can't have it your way I want to do it God's way I want to do it the scriptural way it he said the time will come when they will not endure sound Doctrine we sometimes minimize that term Doctrine as strictly being the Salvation message true Doctrine is all encompassing ing of living a Christian life living a life pleasing and exemplary before God things of non quote spiritual nature outside the confines of the church that we become God's example as we preached last week we we become his decoration his adorning you see uh it said having itching ears years they turn away uh we've got a Yorkie at home and every once in a while that Yorkie will come up to Sister Jamie or myself and especially to Elanor in particular OT loves Eleanor and if Elanor is close by he'll come up and he'll go now that's the best I've got that's the best I can give you for a Yorkie he just does this and he'll keep going until Elanor starts rubbing his ear and then he just Falls over sadly I've seen a few folks that they looking for a church that won't preach too hard so they go to this church and say make me feel good about myself myself I I need a preacher that won't condemn sin he'll just make me feel good about what I'm doing we must not turn away from the precepts and the concepts that the scripture has given us for living a holy God Godly life and we must demonstrate it to the world not that we're showing off we just live that way it just happens we must have Christian character and integrity Jude 3 said it this way beloved when I gave all diligence to write unto you the common salvation of the common salvation it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that you should contend earnestly for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints for there are certain men crept in on aware creeps well if they crep they must be a creep for there are certain Crypt in aware who before of old ordained to this condemnation now hear it ungodly men turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ any doctrine that tells you that you can do anything and live any way is turning the grace of God to lasciviousness God God didn't save you to let you keep sinning he loves you too much he cares about you too much to save you and leave you where you were when your life gets changed it should demonstrate to this world that there's been a change going on you don't need some doctrine that says oh I believed one time so I can do anything I want to and it's okay that's changing the grace of God to lasciviousness we're not pretending ERS we are contenders he said contend earnestly for the faith you see let me move quickly for there's other things that I would mention to us that will demonstrate the power of God in the Apostolic Church there will be miracles in the church we will demonstrate miracles in the apostolic church not for a dog and pony show not to say what we can do but when there's a need for a miracle God will provide a miracle now be very clear of the verbiage I'm using I didn't say healings I said miracles there's a difference some people will drive hundreds of miles if they hear a faith healer is going to be in town you know man he or she man they've got the gifts I mean I've heard them prophesy they're right about 85% of the time my God doesn't work on 85% percentages my God's right all the time oh man I I know I'm I'm messing with some folks theology but please hear me our God never misses oh there's others who if they hear somebody's got a story that they saw an angel you know 10 10 feet tall walking in a room with 8ft ceilings you know uh he filled the auditorium and please don't think I'm blaspheming against signs and wonders and the gifts of the Spirit but the greatest Miracle there is is when a lost soul comes to God and is filled with the Holy Ghost that's a miracle if you're not sure think of where you were and where you are now that's a miracle think of what you used to be and what God has changed you from that's what demonstration of a miracle is you see we sing it all the time if you never do anything else you've already done enough listen if there's not another healing takes place God is still the miracle worker and I promise you he's going to keep saving Souls he's going to keep bringing Deliverance that is the greatest Miracle you can see when somebody that is wrecked in sin their life destroyed and ruined suddenly they obey the word they come to an altar of repentance they repent of their sins they B get baptized in his name they're filled with the Holy Ghost now you've seen a miracle look around you there's a room full of Miracles in this house I said there's a room full of miracles in this house you see if you're one of those folks that you base your spirituality on signs and wonders there will be signs and wonders but if you base your walk with God on that and that's what demonstrates to you you can be deceived in the Revelation John the Revelator speaking of the beasts and we won't get into all of those meetings that everybody thinks they know what they mean but here's what John the Revelator said in Revelation 13:13 and he not speaking of Christ speaking of the deceiver and he doeth great wonders so that he maketh Fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men and deceiveth them that dwell on the Earth by means of those Miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the Beast if those kind of things is the only thing that makes you believe you're easily deceived let me tell you about angels I believe in angels but don't get out there too far off in your angel stuff Colossians 2:18 said let no man begal you of your reward and voluntary humility and worshiping of angels intruding into those things which he had not seen vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind remember Satan was an angel too if you get off into Angels Above the the word and what Christ is doing you're easily deceived it was said of Satan in Ezekiel 28:14 Thou Art the anointed cherub that cover and I have said thee so thou was upon the holy mountain of God thou has walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire Satan was once an angel he understands Angel business if you trust in angels more than you do the word and and the move of God you're easily deceived you know in fact in the Bible the first reference I find of an Angel performing any task was when Hagar had fled to the Wilderness away from her mistress and the angel walked up to Hagar and said you read this Genesis 16:9 the angel of the Lord said unto her return to thy mistress and submit thyself un thy hand return and submit sadly very few folks that get all wrapped up in angels Don't I hear they ever get that message from Angel to return and submit it's usually run and rebel you know what as far as healings this old fleshly body I've given you my testimony and compared to most of y'all I don't need near as much healing and miracles as I've seen or him do in other folks lives so I'm not trying to have a pity party here but God has touched my body many times and I'm thanking him and trusting him that he's touched my body again but with that said healing was not a big deal to Jesus in Mark 6:4 it said but Jesus said unto them a prophet is not without honor but in his own country among his own kin in his own house and notice verse five notice the way this is worded now and he could there do no Mighty Works say he laid his hands upon a few sick folk and heal him healing was just kind of an afterthought to Jesus that that wasn't even a big deal that wasn't a mighty work really you know just you know and many times we put too much emphasis on a healing of these mortal bodies and we forget the miracle of Salvation that is eternal and notice what it went on to say Jesus said and he marveled because of their unbelief you know how he dealt with unbelief he didn't beat him up he didn't put them down he went around about the villages teaching oh if we had the same fervor to hear teaching that many do to see some kind of Supernatural display if we could value the simple preaching and teaching the taught word that helps us live our daytoday lives pleasing before God demonstrating who we are oh how much better would we be oh but M I want the Deep things of God give me something deep well 1 Corinthians 2 has got that verse 6 says how be it we speak wisdom among them that are perfect yet not the wisdom of this world not nor the princes of this world that come to not but we speak the wisdom of God in mystery even hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our Glory which none of the princes of this world knew for had they known it they would not have crucified the Lord Of Glory we're getting to the Deep things right now because I take you back to our text Paul said I'm determined to know nothing among you save Jesus Christ and him crucified you want to get deep don't worry about what each beast and what each head and each dragon in revelation mean do you know what the crucifixion means to your life this where we can start getting deep now but as it is written I hath Not Seen Nor Ear heard or have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him but God hath revealed them unto us by his spirit for the spirit searcheth all things yay the Deep things if you'll engulf yourself in the spirit of God in the everyday serving him living for him that's where the Deep things of Christ are found it's not some woo out here in the in the atmosphere it's living a daytoday life that we can demonstrate whose children we are musicians praise team get ready I'm really not going to take that second hour let me finally say this the reason some do not have or fear a demonstration of God's power in their life they're not sure they believe in their product they're not really sold on it themselves man we we have very successful Auto dealers and salespeople here in our church I guarantee if I would ask them uh there's certain things you probably don't want to say to try to sell a vehicle but brother Josh probably wouldn't be a good approach to say go up to somebody say you don't want to buy this car do you that's probably not a good start is it in fact I'm I know how you guys work man you brag on that car you you you man it may be 10 years old and they'll spray new car smell in so you think it's new you know it's clean that's what they're supposed to do they they it they've got a a product that that that they're they're they're making it attractive to you oh we as the church need to learn from such oh brother M you're saying the gospel is a product no I'm saying it's the most important commodity that anybody can have and we must know how to present the gospel in the way we conduct ourselves in the way we Testify the way we educate ourselves in in ministering and in selling the gospel to others but their kicker is not all those things their kicker is if they can get me behind the wheel and demonstrate that thing for myself man once I get behind the wheel I'm hooked this this is what I got to have man I'm looking in the rear view mirror man I look good in this car let me tell you if you want Christ to be strong in your life you need to have a demonstration of the power of the Holy Ghost in your life you need to have a demonstration of his mighty hand stand with me I hasten ahead 1 Corinthians 1 I'm going to I gave the folks upstairs beginning with 19 but I'm going to skip over to verse 22 it said for the Jews required a sign and the Greeks seek after wisdom but we preach Christ crucified unto the Jews a stumbling block and unto the Greeks foolishness now please understand this is not an ethnic reference of this day we are all children of God now there's neither Junior Greek Bond or free we are all the children of God but in the dispensation of time that was this was being written the writer is telling the Corinthian Church Paul is telling the Corinthians that the Jews are very sign conscious they got to see some kind of extraordinary sign the Greeks are very analytical it's got to be wisdom oriented and the crucifixion to those who are thinking only that way and cannot see in faith what God is doing it even becomes it either becomes foolishness or it becomes a stumbling block or weakness but he went on to say in verse 25 or rather verse 24 but unto them which are called both Jews and Greeks Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God because the foolish foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men for you see your calling Brethren how not how that not many wise men after the flesh not many mighty not many noble or called but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are Mighty what's he saying he's telling us if your view of a demonstration of God is I've got to see a sign then you're you're you're dealing with it being a stumbling block but if you're so educated and you're so analytical that you think emotionalism in worshiping God is foolishness you are just as blinded from receiving a full demonstration of who God is because he said God uses the foolish things you know I'm up here in front of you yeah I'm realized the Bible talks about the foolishness of preaching so hey I'm part of that foolishness but let me tell you I'm just dogged determined enough to obey his word and to preach Christ crucified and let that be our saving Doctrine to understand the symbolism of the necessity of repenting of your sins of the symbolic signific ific an of being buried together with him in water baptism taking on his name for the remission of our sins to rise to walk in newness of life and being filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost evidence with speaking with tongues I I'm going to be just foolish enough that if that makes me foolish I'm foolish for Christ I I if that makes me void of a sign I'm here to tell you oh I can explain it to you when we baptize somebody up here in Jesus name it's a essential symbolic act with spiritual significance it's absolutely necessary but oh let me make it plain when they lift that screen and there's a baptismal pool up there that's good old KU water okay that's not holy water water there's not people's sins physically floating in that water but it's a symbolic Deck with necessary significance that I'm being obedient to his word I'm taking his name on in baptism I'm burying the sin man and a new creature is rising from the water to walk in newness of life I am promised the gift the free gift Christmas is coming everybody's looking for gifts I got the best gift you can ever give and it's free that's the baptism of the Holy Ghost that's what we're going to preach that's what we're going to demonstrate praise team step on out here [Music] my uncle Donald who's gone on to be with the Lord now when he was just a young man his younger brothers my dad and his twin brother Bobby Billy and Bobby you've heard Bishop mul give his testimony even recently on Wednesday night he told about it how he and his brother received the baptism of the Holy Ghost In The Altar and they begin going home and talking about this experience what had happened to them and Bishop I I'll tell the story as I remember it I hope I get the facts all right but the story went something like this they had talked this so much in their home that their older brother Don started questioning them about what it's like to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and they were trying to explain to him this wonderful experience just as you've heard Bishop testify to how he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and they begin to tell about it and talk about it and finally my dad said Don I can't describe this said the only way you're going to understand this is you've got to experience they pulled out an old came back came bottom chair turned around and said kneel down let's start praying we're going to pray with you you get the Holy Ghost they started praying and before long they said Dawn fell right back in the floor on his back speaking with other tongues as the spirit gave utterance he didn't have to hear for somebody else he was experiencing it for himself their dad who was still unsaved at that time walked through the kitchen where they were praying for him and dad said my grandpa said uh Don's always been a good boy said I don't know what he's done to have to go through [Music] this I'm here to tell you this ain't nothing to go through this is an experience that happened on the day of Pentecost the Holy Ghost is still being poured out it's for you today if you've never repented of your sins I'm going to open this Altar for you to come and say Lord I'm sorry for my sin and he wants to forgive you if you don't have the baptism of the Holy Ghost I challenge you I can't tell you anymore you need to come and get it I said you need to come and get it if you need a renewing or refilling don't you be afraid to step out if you just want to be in his presence I want you to come forward for a time and a season of being with the Lord throw your hands up surrender to him let him fill you today Hallelujah yeah yeah Hallelujah yeah yeah yeah sing it sing it unto the Lord hallelujah yeah Hallelujah Hallelujah can I pray with you right now God this is your servant you see her heart right now that's right my sister that's right my sister that's right that's right come on hallelujah hallelujah yeah the 2 chapter verse number one says and when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all in one Accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared un them clothing tongues like as a fire and it sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave utterance now that's what's happening that's what's going on now now there were folks around saw this demonstration taking place and they started asking questions some were amazed when they heard folks speaking with tongues others began to mock said these men are full of wine they're full of it's a bunch of drunks but Peter stood up with the 11 and lifted up up his voice he said these men are not drunken as you suppose he didn't say they're not drunk they just hadn't been drinking kind of stuff you're talking about the power of the Holy Ghost had fallen I'm sure some might have been staggering a bit whatever was taking place he said they're not drunken as you suppose but he began taking them back to Old Testament word he said but this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Joel in the last days in the last days anybody been checking out the headlines lately any doubt we're living in the last days that's not to scare us that's to remind us to be ready we're on God's time clock last days may be a week month or a hundred years whatever it is we're in the last days but in the last days I will pour out my spirit upon All Flesh that's everybody nobody gets left out no ethnicity no color no socioeconomic situation in the last days I'll pour out my spirit on everybody your sons and your daughters they're going to prophesy your old men shall dream dreams your young women shall see visions and upon my servants and upon my handmaids will I pour out my spirit and they shall prophesy that's what's going on God's pouring out his spirit I want you to be a part of it I want it to be demonstrated in your life thank you saints of God thank you for we have baptismal clothes for men women boys and girls we have men of God who will baptize you as they did in the scriptures in the the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sin if you want to get baptized we'll do it today we'll do it now but I'm asking you to let the power of the Holy
