Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

The readings: Lazarus raised, and Lazarus marked for death

  • He reads John 11 in pieces, skipping around as he warned: Jesus' words, our friend Lazarus sleepeth, the disciples' misunderstanding, and the plain word — Lazarus is dead. At the tomb: take ye away the stone; Martha's, Lord, by this time he stinketh; and the promise that if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God. Then, Lazarus, come forth — and he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot, and Jesus saith, loose him, and let him go.
  • Many of the Jews who had seen the things Jesus did believed on him. In John 12 the people came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead — but the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death. From those verses he takes his subject: don't murder your miracle.
  • A miracle becomes a witness: if God has healed you, delivered you from addiction or healed your marriage, say so — don't keep it quiet. But note the pattern at the tomb: Jesus did the miracle, and he made man take off the bonds that man had put on him; the restrictions we put on ourselves, we have to remove ourselves.

Scriptures: John 11:11-14; John 11:39-40; John 11:43-45; John 12:9-10

When the miracle starts costing: money

  • The very things we asked God for can become a burden of details and commitment — the talent that now requires practice, the teaching that now requires preparation — and we develop a plan of complacency, neglect and apathy to put our miracle to death.
  • Acts 16: the damsel possessed with a spirit of divination brought her masters much gain by soothsaying, and she followed Paul crying that these men are the servants of the most high God which shew unto us the way of salvation — the devil himself has to admit the truth. Paul, being grieved, commanded the spirit in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her, and it came out the same hour. When her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone they dragged Paul and Silas to the magistrates: they murdered the miracle because it got into their pocketbook. Don't let the cost of tithing stand between you and your miracle — you can't afford not to pay tithe.
  • The demoniac who dwelled in the tombs: the devils went into the swine, and the people came out and saw the man who had had the legion sitting, clothed and in his right mind — and they were afraid, and began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. They should have celebrated the miracle; instead they murdered it to protect what it cost them.

Scriptures: Acts 16:16-19; Mark 5:15-17

Jealousy and division

  • David's victory over Goliath was a miracle, not just an underdog story, and after it David behaved himself wisely as Saul's servant and military leader. But returning from the slaughter of the Philistines he heard the women sing, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands — and Saul was wroth, and eyed David from that day forward. Be careful about comparisons: some folks can't compliment one person without putting somebody else down.
  • Saul eventually tried to run David through with a javelin, divided his own kingdom, and died weakened with his sons in war — he had not kept strong and taken care of what God had done; he murdered his miracle.
  • First Corinthians 1:10: Paul beseeches the brethren by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. In the 11th chapter of the same book he writes that when they come together in the church he hears there are divisions among them, and he partly believes it. A church God has richly blessed can murder its miracle by becoming at odds with itself.

Scriptures: 1 Samuel 18:7-9; 1 Corinthians 1:10; 1 Corinthians 11:18

An unforgiving spirit

  • Peter asked how often he should forgive — seven times? Jesus answered, seventy times seven, and told the parable: the servant whose lord was moved with compassion and forgave his whole debt went out and would not forgive the fellow servant who owed him a few pence, but cast him into prison; and his lord delivered him to the tormentors. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
  • If you're holding a grudge against someone, let it go and forget it: you're not going to get forgiveness while you refuse it, and you'll kill the miracle God has done for you by holding on to that thing.
  • For our dealings in the world, Matthew's word: agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him — be reasonable, settle differences, and don't kill your influence by representing Jesus badly in business.

Scriptures: Matthew 18 (chapter, as spoken); Matthew 5:25

Tradition against revelation — and the call to pursue

  • Preserving tradition over obeying revelation murders the miracle of revelation. A lady came to First Apostolic and got the revelation of Jesus-name water baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost — then asked Bishop McCool to baptize her secretly in the daytime so her own denomination wouldn't know and she wouldn't lose her status. He heard his dad tell her he would baptize everybody he could in the name of Jesus, but not under false pretenses.
  • Acts 26: Paul before Festus — I am not mad, most noble Festus, but speak forth the words of truth and soberness; for this thing was not done in a corner. John 12: nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue — for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. And there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
  • Pursue the miracle instead: the woman with the issue of blood fought her way through the crowd to touch the hem of his garment. The healed demoniac wanted to travel with Jesus, but Jesus sent him home: go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee — and he departed and began to publish it in Decapolis. And the greatest miracle is salvation itself: the lame man rose up leaping at the name of Jesus Christ. If God has done something for you, lead the way to this altar.

church thank you once again for your faithful participation in making first apostolic church the greatest church that you could ever be a part of this church family is incredible and i'm thankful to be a part of all of you today thank you for your prayers and i know god is going to speak to us today through his word i'm calling your attention to the book of saint john the 11th chapter and i would give you a little bit of heads up and our media folks as well i'm going to read uh a few more verses than normal today but hoping to uh set a foundation for what we will talk about today so if you would stay with me i'll skip around a bit in saint john the 11th chapter and then eventually i'm going to go to the 12th chapter so just stay with me beginning in saint john the 11th chapter we'll read at verse number 11. these things said he and after that he said to them this is jesus speaking our friend lazarus sleepeth but i go that i may awake him out of sleep then said his disciples lord if he sleep he shall do well howbeit jesus spake of his death but they thought that he had spoken of taking a rest in sleep then said jesus unto them plainly lazarus is dead verse 39 jesus said take you away the stone martha the sister of him that was dead said to him lord by this time he stinketh for he hath been dead four days jesus said unto her said i not unto thee that if thou wouldst believe that thou should have see the glory of god verse 43 and when he had thus spoken he cried with a loud voice lazarus come forth and he that was dead came forth bound hand and foot with grave clothes and his face was bound about with a napkin jesus said unto them loose him and let him go then many of the jews which came to mary had seen the thing which jesus did notice believed on him after the miracle they believed on jesus but then i want to skip over to verse 9 of chapter 12. go over to chapter 12. the same progression after this miracle had taken place it reads in verse number nine many people of the jews therefore knew that he was there and they came not for jesus sake only but they might see lazarus also whom he had been raised from the dead and please notice verse 10 for this is where we will draw our main thought today but the chief priests consulted that they might put lazarus also to death lazarus resurrection was a miracle and now the pharisees are wanting to put him to death for a few moments i would speak to you on this subject don't murder your miracle don't murder your miracle let's pray savior i love you god i'm grateful for this opportunity and i thank you for your word that has ever settled in heaven lord i know that i can say nothing do nothing but lord through your anointed word if i could be the conduit to minister to some heart and some life today let me speak your word as you would have it spoken lord let us receive and act upon your word that we may be filled in jesus name we pray amen to give a bit of the narrative the story you know that mary and martha's brother lazarus was sick unto death and they called for jesus who was their dear friend and jesus lingered in coming to minister to lazarus needs to the point that he lingered so long they thought he was late for lazarus had indeed died and you know the intimate details but i give you the thumbnail synopsis again to understand that jesus spoke a bit in a way that the disciples didn't understand he said now don't get in a hurry everything's all right i i'll go wake lazarus here in a few minutes and they said well well if if he's taking a nap he does well others many of us could attest to that if you take a nap you do well i i can't help but be reminded when i was little they wanted to make me take a nap and i didn't want to now when i want to take a nap folks don't want to let you take one so but that's another time jesus said he's sleeping and they said well he does well but jesus said now i don't want there to be any misunderstanding he said lazarus is dead he gave the blunt revelation there's no life in him he's dead in fact as the chronology went and we read it he went to the stone and i left out a few of the scriptures for reading but the jews and those phariseesical attitudes that were around when jesus first showed up after lazarus was dead they were on his side as long as he worked in the natural yeah because jesus went to the tomb and he wept and they said oh oh how he loved him you can read it all for yourself oh oh isn't that amazing oh how compassion oh how jesus loved him but you see when jesus stopped working in the natural and he started working in the supernatural and a miracle took place jesus said lazarus come forth and from the grave lazarus came out and the bible said that he was bound hand and foot and there was a napkin over his face this is another message for another time but be reminded jesus did the miracle but he made man take off the bonds that man had put on him sometimes jesus will do a miracle in your life but the things and the restrictions you put on yourself you have to remove them for yourself can i get a witness in the house today jesus said i'll do the miracle but you got to take care of the things that you can take care of we could learn something from that but you see lazarus came forth and many believed because of that miracle they believed on jesus but we move ahead in time now jesus is in a different location and lazarus is traveling with him and people start showing up the bible said not to just be with jesus or just oh they wanted to see jesus but they wanted to see lazarus too they wanted to see the miracle that lets me know that when god does something for us we shouldn't keep it quiet that becomes a witness that tells people about jesus if you've been healed in this house you ought to say so if god's delivered you from something you shouldn't be afraid to tell somebody i'm going to have a testimony what jesus did for me if you've been addicted don't be ashamed of it say god delivered me from my addiction if you had marital problem and god's healed your marriage be a witness god knows how to do it [Applause] lazarus was with him people were believing and the pharisees who once had said oh how he loved him suddenly they realized they were losing their influence god had done a notable miracle among them the the god that was walking god manifesting flesh that was walking right among them had done a notable miracle and now suddenly they were more worried about their influence than they were about a miracle and they said we got to kill this thing we need to assassinate lazarus we need to put him to death we've got to keep folks from coming and showing up to see him you see in the society that we live in entertainment books tv plots salacious news services all like a good murder mystery most of these horrible stories have plots that involve broken relationships greed deception jealousy envy strife some murder the person or the individual who was once the dearest love of their life now they're planning to assassinate that one which they once desired the most the greed and jealousies the suspicions the cover-ups all the possible motives feed into a murder plot so this was a murder plot to assassinate lazarus so the pharisees could keep their influence but can i tell us all today as we look down our noses with a con dimming eye at the pharisees if we aren't all careful the very things that we once asked god to do for us in our lives they will become a burden because of the details because they're so committed they want to do everything in church we hadn't got time to do that stuff that we thought we wanted to do in the flesh god give me an ability give me a talent let me play an instrument let me sing a song but now i've got to go to practice i've got to get there god give me the words to say that that i could be a teacher or now i've got to prepare for my sunday school class if we're not careful the very things that we've asked god for and he's miraculously provided for us in our lives they will suddenly become a burden to us and instead of thanking god and feeding our miracle we'll say i'm going to figure out a way to kill this thing i don't want to have that commitment anymore god provided something for me and i'm going to put it to death hear me today our miracle can develop into a burden of details and commitment and we can develop a plan to murder our miracle a job a christian mate in marriage a thriving church family a talent god blessed us with it but now it turns into a plan of complacency neglect and apathy and we develop a plan to put it to death so we don't have to be bothered with it anymore there's a lot of things scripturally that we find the influence of christ being assassinated in if we choose money wealth mammon if you will over deliverance we can murder our miracle in acts the 16th chapter and again i'll paraphrase more than reading the entire thing we find the lady who was pursuing paul and silas who was a lady who had a spirit the bible says of divination she was a diviner and she wasn't divining things by spiritual or godly influence but she was divining things by evil influence the bible says in acts 16 16 it came to pass as we went out to pray a certain damsel possessed where the spirit of divination met us which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying she was in it and they were in it for the money she did the divining and folks paid them she had handlers if you will and she would uh i'm sure if you if you could see the details she likely had her at a tent or a location that you can get your fortune foretold and folks would come in and pay their money and and she would touch their palm or she would look in their eyes whatever her mode was and she would give them divination she would divide their future verse 17 said then said did the same followed paul in us and cried saying these men are the servants of the most high of god which show us show unto us the way of salvation she had one divination right you see the devil himself has to admit when the truth comes around the devil himself can't can't change what truth is she started divining and telling about these guys have the way to salvation with them and she did this many days she followed them around but paul being grieved turned and said to the spirit i command thee in the name of jesus christ to come out of her let me tell you there's some stuff that we've got living in our lives that we need to command in the name of jesus to get out there's some stuff that you need to say in jesus name get behind me get out of my life there's power in the name of jesus don't you be afraid to call on the name of jesus when you're in trouble there's some things that analyzing and evaluating won't do enough reading a manual and getting advice won't fix it sometimes you need to step up and say in the name of jesus get behind me get this out of my life so they rebuked the spirit and the bible says and he came out that same hour and when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone they caught paul and silas and drew them into the marketplace unto the ruler brought them to the magistrate saying these men being jews do exceedingly trouble the city what were they doing they were murdering the miracle of a spirit being cast out of that woman they should have been celebrating there's no longer this spirit of divination in her she's had that evil spirit cast out of her they should have been celebrating but it got into their pocketbook it got into their money let me tell you if god has done something for you if he's miraculously provided for you don't let your purse in your pocketbook stand between claiming your miracle don't start backing up and saying now i can't serve god that far it's going to cost me too much you see god many times does miraculous things and we start backing up and looking at it in the natural in the spirit god has blessed me but i don't know about this tithing stuff i know about this giving my first fruits i i don't know if i can afford to pay tithe let me tell you you can't afford to not pay tithe you can't afford to be cursed with a curse preacher you feel in your pocket absolutely not but i'm feeling the coffers of heaven because jesus himself wants to bless you he wants to provide for you but if you're disobedient to the word the bible says you're cursed with a curse now that's cursed another such example in scripture remember the demonic that dwelled in the tombs in gadarene we all know who have studied bible he did get delivered and he'll now brother jones i know y'all visit a lot of graveyards in your business i just might i i had the privilege when we visited israel several years ago of going to the tombs at gathering and i don't mind telling you it was a little bit of a spooky place there were tombs and and caves on on the side and we walked around i got news for you if somebody had to come out there screaming and squalling with chains and it would have got my attention now i'm just being honest with you i i might have rebuked it but i'd been running while i was doing it but can you imagine can you get the picture every time they had i don't know if they had a funeral director and a service like yours brother jones but can you imagine saying oh man we got to go over to the gadarene cemetery we're going to deal that dude again everybody be alert every time they tried to have a funeral here come this guy screaming and squalling change tearing his clothes oh here we go again and look but when jesus came on the scene jesus stepped up and he said shut up and get out heat now i may be characterizing in today's vernacular he said hold your peace and clear out and the spirits began to beg they said what can would you let us go to the pigs could we go to the hogs and the hogs had more sense than the man the man put up with the devil the hogs would rather die than had the devils they listen this wasn't 2 000 arkansas fans hear me [Applause] but the pigs drown them the bible says they choked themselves but get the picture because we're talking about murdering your miracle a miracle had taken place the spirits have been cast out legions the bible says for we're many the spirits had been cast out and those who owned the hogs came back and they found the one who had been tormenting them and their existence the bible said clothed and in his right mind sound like folks that go around unclothed all the time may not be in their right mind clothed and in his right mind what should they have done they should have said well hallelujah praise god let's celebrate this miracle but the bible says they were afraid there are some folks that are more afraid of people clothed than in their right mind than they are of a demon-possessed person now i know this isn't popular the kind of preaching i'm doing right but you better hear me don't murder your miracle the only thing they were worried about was they had lost their hog livestock they were it's going to cost us now there are there are many theologians who evaluate this passage of scripture who have even gone into this that that might have even been an illegal herd because you understand pork was a no-no to the jews they might have even had ill-gotten gains there that had been destroyed whatever the circumstance they should have been celebrating a miracle instead they said get him out of our country notice verse 19 of acts 16 and when her master rather no let me let me take you to the next one it's it's verse 15 it said and they come to jesus and see him that was possessed with the devil and had the legion seated in clothed and in his right mind they were afraid and they that saw it told them how it befell to him that he was possessed with the devil and also concerning the swine and they began to pray him to depart out of their coast murder this miracle get jesus influence out preacher how does that apply to us today let me tell you we have a christian school here at first apostolic church of knoxville apostolic christian school from time to time we will have folks who their child is on the border of trouble they didn't have any use for a christian school until their child got in trouble but they want to bring them to the christian school and if possible within any bounds of reason we can minister to them we will accept them but there's been a few situations that folks would put their child in christian school and before long they'd come to an elevate service and pastor whitley or pastor anthony or one of our guests would would minister to them our praise team of students would sing to them and the holy ghost would start ministering to them and moving them and all of a sudden they would find themselves an altar in an altar with their hand raised and then start asking mom and dad about getting baptized in jesus name and i've seen a few times to do whoa whoa whoa i don't know about my child getting that committed oh i just didn't want them to get on drugs i didn't want them to get that committed to god you know i'm talking where some of us are living i've seen folks marriages ready ready to break up and then put themselves under the authority of the word of god and restoration healing take place but one of the others start getting real committed you know i'm going to get more involved in the church i'm going to beat number wait i didn't i didn't know you were going to do that sweetheart i just wanted you to stay with me i'm still y'all can y'all can calm down quit shouting y'all quit quit dancing around y'all you know this preacher's telling you the truth some folks ask god for a miracle then they'll turn around and put a death plot out to kill it once they think they've got what they need let me tell you don't murder your miracle don't let your miracle be destroyed jealousy and unforgiveness will murder your miracle [Applause] might i remind you when david slew goliath that was a miracle that's not just an underdog story if we went back and reviewed all the specifics of how a lad could face a warrior and a giant and slay him with a sling it was a miracle that god did for saul and the armies of israel but if you read through it and again i'm going to paraphrase without reading a whole lot of scripture but you can read it for yourself in first samuel 18. the bible said that david behaved himself wisely after that took place and he was a servant to saul and he became one of saul's uh military leaders under the direction of saul saul's in charge saul's the king he he gives out orders he's got his his uh fair-haired child david the one who won the miraculous victory and david went out and the bible says he returned from the slaughter of philistines i got news for you goliath was just the beginning he knew how to fight with philistines and he had slaughtered a bunch of philistines and he came back and when he came back the ladies of the community started singing a song they started singing saul has slain his thousands but david is ten thousands you think saul didn't have an ego it's not like they were putting him down man they they were celebrating their king saul but at the moment they were celebrating how david had wrought such a mighty miracle i mean had saul been a good spin doctor he could take credit taking credit for everything that david did man i am a good king and a good commander i can get a boy to go out with the philistines but know his ego his egocentric ways his self-centered ideas he got upset because somebody made comparisons you know i might give you this aside it's not the greatest thing in the world to make comparisons some folks can't compliment one person without putting somebody else down you know who the best preacher at first apostolic church is whoever the last one was whoever the last message i heard so i've got from now until this evening because whoever preaches tonight is going to be the best one you've heard yet why because god keeps blessing and keeps giving us the best every time we come into this house be careful about saying oh you're the best i've ever heard especially compared to this you're the greatest singer i've ever heard especially compared to her but saul had an ego the bible said he was wrought he was mad he displeased him and the bible said from that day forward that saul eyed david now what does that mean said i'm going to keep an eye on you i believe you're looking for an insurrection you're the one who put him in position you're the one who enabled him to have these great victims now you're going to keep an eye on him because he's been doing too good that's called jealousy and envy when we indulge ourselves and having to keep an eye on everybody else somebody hear me today well look i'm not worried about comparisons we're here to do what god called us to do in the city of knoxville we're here to do what god called us to do in our ministry i'm not worried about what anybody else is doing i'm not [Applause] could i tell you just because i'm running don't mean i'm racing just because i'm moving out for the lord don't mean i'm racing somebody else i'm just wanting to get more folks into heaven as i possibly can if you're winning so great for you it don't matter if saul is slate is thousands and david is ten thousand just so we're all slaying the enemy and lifting up jesus together saul would eventually attempt to run david through with a javelin he would eventually divide his own kingdom because there were so many that were loyal david didn't want it to be that way but saul forced it that way saw would eventually die in a weakened situation and his family along with him his sons in war because he had not kept strong and taken care of what god had done he had murdered his miracle the influence of goliath's slain had been murdered in saul's life sound texts i didn't give you these scriptures so don't look for them on what i sent you but i even in the office this morning as i was praying and seeking god first corinthians 1 10 paul teaching the corinthian church man that's got to be a good church you know if if paul was overseeing it wouldn't you think that was a pretty good church the first chapter of first corinthians verse number 10 paul said this now i beseech you brethren notice the way he's approaching him i mean it's kid's glove oh your brethren you're so nice brethren i beseech you brethren by the name of our lord jesus christ he invokes christ he calls him brother brethren and and evokes today he's he's doing everything he can to get every bit of influence to the corinthian church notice it he said that y'all speak the same thing once he said we need to all get on the same page and that there be no divisions among you now he's not talking to sinners he's talking to the church just like i'm doing today he said we need to all be on the same page we don't need to be divided up about a bunch of insignificant things there'll be no divisions among you but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment we need to speak the same language now if paul said that the church ought to obey it don't you think paul has a lot of clout but if you go just 11 chapters later in the same book first corinthians the 11th chapter we were in chapter 1 now we're in 11 speaking to the same church at corinth for first of all verse 18 when you come together in the church i hear that there be divisions among you and i partly believe it he said it may not be as bad as i've been hearing but i believe part of it there's just too much going on hear me there shouldn't be divisions in the church we need to speak as one mind we should understand that the word of god ministers to us all that god loves us all equally and we have a common goal we need to be speaking the same language we have the same goals we have the same soul-winning desire you see we will let divisions murder our miracle a church that god is so richly blessed with facilities and communications and equipment and talent if we become at odds with each other we can murder our miracle and then let me hasten toward the end an unforgiving spirit will murder your miracle i said an unforgiving spirit will murder your miracle i paraphrase again matthew 18 you can read it all for yourself peter was questioning the lord he said how many times should we forgive he said should we forgive seven times you know that sounded like a in our humanity that sounded like a a pretty liberal number seven times man that'll be good but jesus shot him down he said no uh more like 70 times seven man and jesus immediately began to give a parable and he told the story of the lord who had commanded for his servant his family and children to be sold into debtors prison basically because he couldn't pay his debt and the bible said that the servant came and bowed down and worshipped him and begged patience and said i will pay you all and the bible says that the lord of the servant was moved with compassion and loosed him and forgave his debt that was a miracle you don't think so just think of how much debt you got don't anybody raise your hand everybody in the house just think of how much debt you've got right now if miraculously your debt was house taking care of cars taken care of that honorary credit card that you shouldn't have had in the first places places paid off i'd call that a miracle whoa hallelujah but sadly if many of us were like the servant in the story the first thing we do say well i want to see who owes me i'm going to make some money now that's basically what happened in jesus parable the servant who owed so much and was forgiven so much as soon as his forgiveness came there was one who owed a much smaller debt a few pence but when he was asked patience the bible says he would not but went and cast him into prison till he should pay the debt and the parable continues for the lord who had forgiven him heard the story and came back and because he had not forgiven he reinstituted the debt and the bible says it he turned him over to the tormentors i never really understood that until i realized that some collection agencies use the telephone i know what the tormentors are now and he said so likewise shall my heavenly father do also unto you if you from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses if you're sitting in this house today and you're holding a grudge against someone if you're out there listening online and you've got awe to get someone somebody hear this preacher today i'm just telling your book you're not going to get forgiveness you're going to kill the miracle that god has done for you by holding on to that thing there's some stuff you need to let go of and forget it they didn't ask me don't matter just forgive and see what god's gonna do for you just have a forgiving spirit i know that sounds so tough but do you want your miracle to live and thrive or do you want to kill your miracle man when you're doing business out in this old world matthew said agree with thine adversary quickly while thou art in the way with him lest any time thy adversary deliver thee to the judge and the judge delivered thee to the officer and now be cast into prison that's talking about being reasonable and settling differences in debts if you're a child of god for heaven's sakes when you do businesses in the world don't represent jesus in the church like a dingbat [Music] now that's not a a scriptural word but i hope you understand what it means some folks are horrible examples in the business dealings that they do by not being reasonable and don't kill your influence don't kill your miracle do we believe in god's forgiveness do we believe in repentance do we believe in restoration do we believe that we've ever needed forgiveness i have and i do every day do i want to be forgiven like i have forgiven others and let me finally go here preserving traditions in your life over obeying revelation of truth will murder the miracle of revelation too many have had the miraculous revelation of the oneness of god but refuse to obey the word and be baptized in the name of jesus because of religious traditions this will murder the miracle of revelation many years ago there was a a dear lady who started attending first apostolic church and she came and heard bishop mccool lovingly preach and teach on the apostolic message and she got the revelation of jesus name water baptism the infilling of the holy ghost evidence was speaking to other tongues repenting of her sins she got that revelation and she called bishop's house one day and she said bishop he wasn't bishop then she said she probably said brother billy yeah she said would you and sister betty meet me over at the church i want to get baptized in jesus name and if she'd have stopped right there they'd have been in the car and beat her to the church but she said understand i want to do this during the daytime because i belong to such and such and so so and so denominal church and i don't want anybody to know about it because i might lose my status in that church i heard my dad tell her sister i want to baptize everybody we can in the name of jesus but under those circumstances i would be baptizing you under false pretenses because you're wanting to do something secretly and keep it hid think about this in acts 26 24 when paul spoke before festus he got rebuked for getting beside himself and he said he had to defend his fervor he said i'm not mad i'm not crazy most noble festus but speak forth the words of truth and soberness verse 26 of acts 26 he said this for the king knoweth these things he said you know more than you're letting on before whom i also speak freely for i am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him for this thing was not done in a corner jesus was not crucified in secret and heaven helped me when i want to hide around and be an undercover christian he laid down his life for me i'm not going to murder that miracle i'm going to proclaim greatly i am a child of god i have repented of my sins i've been baptized in the precious name of jesus i'm wanting to live a holy life pleasing to god stand with me john 1242 when he was telling about concerning jesus it said nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him but because of the pharisees they did not confess him lest they should be put out of the synagogue for they love the praises of men more than the praises of god if you've got to keep your tradition you're going to murder your miracle if god is giving you revelation i'm not here to throw off on any other denomination or any other doctrine but the scripture tells me neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other there's no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved you've got to take on the name of jesus unashamedly unafraid i want you to know you need to feed your miracle don't murder your miracle praise god scripture goes on a move rapidly later on you find not only did they take counsel to murder lazarus the miracle they wanted to murder the miracle worker this would be the beginning of the plot to murder jesus this would be the beginning of it being uttered among the religious elite of that day we've got to do away with this jesus you see if we aren't careful we will start murdering the things god has so miraculously provided for us i'm here to tell you today instead of murdering your miracle you need to come expecting a miracle and you need to come pursuing your miracle the woman who had an issue of blood she showed up and pursued a miracle she said whatever i've got to do if i've got to fight my way through the crowd if i have to crawl if i can just touch the hem of his garden she wasn't murdering a miracle she was pursuing a miracle among a great group of people god has a miracle for you i don't know what you need but god knows what you need you need to pursue it you need to testify if god has already given you a miracle i told you about the demonic the part of the story that i didn't tell you after the hog farmers wanted jesus out of their midst [Music] jesus begin his journey and the bible says that the man who was delivered of the demons began to follow jesus and he asked jesus can i go with you can i travel with you but in mark 5 19 how be it jesus suffered him not but said unto him go home to thy friends and tell them he said god has done a miracle for you the demons have been cast out i'd like for you to go with me but what you need to do now is go talk to your friends and tell them show them what's happened show what god has done for thee and had had compassion on thee and he departed and began to publish it in decapolis how great things jesus had done for him and all men did marvel let me tell you if jesus has done a miracle for you in your life you need to tell somebody about it don't murder it publicize it don't put it to death publish it [Music] let me finally say this if you're in this place today and you need a miracle of some kind the greatest miracle there is first of all is salvation never mistake you need the miracle of salvation if you're in this place today and you have not yet been baptized in jesus name you've not yet been filled with the holy ghost this is the place for it to happen today you need to get that miracle in your life but maybe you're needing a financial blessing maybe you're needing a healing of a relationship maybe you have a physical malady that god's needing to do something in your life you claim your miracle at an altar of prayer and repentance you have to ask unashamedly it doesn't matter what anybody else says or what anybody else thinks if you need a miracle the altar is the place to get it in just a moment we're going to sing and we're going to praise and we're going to worship but i would remind you again yet of one more miracle the lame man who peter and john ministered to by preaching jesus when he asked for alms peter said silver and gold have i known but such as i have give out thee in the name of jesus christ's dance rise up and walk and he took him by the hand the bible said he stood up leaping and went running and jumping and praising the lord he went into the synagogue doing the same thing stirred everybody up they arrested them took them before the magistrates and they wanted them to deny the miracle and he said if i stand charged and i'm paraphrasing again for the good deed that has done and who by whom it was done he said i testify look the world can't shut you up when you talk about jesus if they arrest you when you have a chance to please i plead the blood in jesus name i i want to be a testifier and give a testimony and a witness let me ask you this if god's ever done something for you and ever done a miracle for you i want you to lead the way i want you to step out and come to this altar if you're in the house and you're needing a miracle i want you to follow them and come quickly come believing come by faith there's a miracle you can't deny you can't deny it give praise to what god has done give glory to what he's done in your life thank him for the miracle in your life hallelujah [Music] [Music] break every chain break every day [Music] [Music] [Music] break every change [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] [Music] where we [Applause] [Music] break every change [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] [Music] uh [Music] [Applause] [Music] break down [Music] i hear those two [Music] [Music] [Applause] i'm [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] of jesus [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] to [Music] hallelujah hallelujah would you give praise for the miracle worker today would you give praise for the miracle worker today savior i thank you for all you've done in my life i thank you for the miracles you have wrought in my life it's a miracle that i'm here it's a miracle that i'm alive it's a miracle that you've given me my family god and i'm
