let's give the lord a great praise all across this house he is so worthy he is so wonderful if he's done anything for you it ought to be easy to praise him tonight come on in your own way why don't you just let him know how special he is how amazing he is how much you love him thank you jesus we love you lord we praise you we magnify you oh what a great honor it is to be able to preach to my home church and if you have never left home you don't know what it feels like to come home it's one of the greatest feelings in the world i love this place i love east tennessee and i love each and every one of you and uh not really much i can say more than what's already been said about the mccool family they are some of the greatest people to ever walk the face of this earth and i give them all tremendous tremendous honor bishop and sister mccool uh they are living legends in the apostolic faith and uh they that only heaven will be able to tell the impact that they've had on this world and i'm just honored that i have got to call them my pastor and pastor's wife for all these years and to pastor mark mccoy mr jamie mccool same with them they are just some of the greatest people classiest people you'll ever meet and the pastor nate sister ashley and easton uh just a wonderful wonderful family and to my my dear friend pastor anthony thank you for that introduction uh he is i'm so proud of that young man god is doing great things with him and his wife sister kelly and eleanor and soon to be callie welcome to the world hopefully soon and excited to meet him and uh so so thankful to be here in the house of god and so glad that my family is here i give all of them honor tonight also you can be seated i'm going to do things a little different tonight i'm going to set a foundation preach for a few minutes and then let the lord move in this place but i uh when the covet lockdown first hit you all were doing like nightly little bible studies and i was honored to do a part of that and i'm going to continue what i spoke that night some of you that heard it some of you that didn't but i feel like there's times that god gives me messages for churches and then i feel like god a few times has given me messages for the body of christ and what i'm going to preach tonight i feel like god gave me not just for a church but the church and so some of you are going to hur you've heard a little bit of this but when i spoke on it originally online that night it was literally straight from the voice of god to my ipad you all were the first ones to ever hear it but i i was preaching a few weeks ago down in florida and i while i was preaching i wasn't even thinking about knoxville i felt like god told me to preach this message tonight so i'm going to obey him tonight but there is a word that is found in our english vocabulary that has different meanings probably the most familiar meaning is any various type of headgear that is worn by a monarch as a symbol of sovereignty often made of precious metal and automated with valuable gems we find this version of the word in in the scripture many times in exodus 39-3 god directs moses to make the high priest a holy crown of pure gold and engrave on it holiness to the lord in leviticus 21 and 12 the bible calls that same crown that the high priest wears the crown of the anointing oil of his god that is upon him in second samuel 12 and 30 king david and his army defeat robba and he takes from their king a solid gold jeweled covered crown and if you study it out that crown would be worth over 2 million dollars in today's money system but he takes that crown off their king's head and places it upon his own head in second kings 11 and 12 they put the king's crown on the head of the king's son and they made him king and anointed him and they clapped their hands and said god saved the king and esther 2 and 17 they set the royal crown upon esther's head and made her queen instead in esther 8-15 mordecai was rewarded for his loyalty to the king with what the bible calls a great crown of gold proverbs has much to say about crowns a virtuous woman is a crown to her husband the crown of the wise is their riches the whorey head or the gray head is a crown of glory and it's amazing to me that my crown's getting bigger and thinner all at the same time tonight children's children our grandchildren are the crown of old men song of solomon 3 and 11 tells you tells us that king solomon was crowned with a crown by his mother bathsheba which tells us that even if you've made mistakes god can still use you to do royal things in his kingdom and i stand a witness of that unmerited mercy this evening isaiah warns us of the crown of pride and teaches us that the lord of hosts would be a crown of glory and that we would be a crown of glory in the hand of the lord the new testament also speaks often of crowns paul tells the church in corinth and every man that strivet for the mastery is tempered in all things now they do it to attain a corruptable crown but we an incorruptible he tells a young timothy that henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day and not to me only but un unto all of them also that love his appearing james adds this blessed is the man that endured temptation for when he has tried he shall receive the crown of life which the lord had promised to them that love him peter wouldn't be out done he said when the chief shepherd shall appear you shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away john the revelator in his revelation on the isle of patmos spoke often of crowns probably the most uh the the one that i love the most is found in revelation 4 the 4 and 20 elders fall down before him that set on the throne and they worshipped him that liveth forever and ever and they cast their crowns before the throne saying thou art worthy o lord to receive glory and honor and power but that isn't so much the type of crown that i really want to discuss this evening the type of crown that i want to talk about is also found in the bible but has a different meaning and that meaning is simply this the top of one's head most familiar in the famous nursery rhyme jack and jill went up the hill jack fell down and what happened to jack he broke his crown or he broke his head and unfortunately jack's not the only one walking around with a broken head in our world today all right but that version of the word crown is also found in your bible second samuel 14 25. in all of israel there was none to be so much praised as absalom for his beauty from the soul of his foot and to the crown or the top of his head there was no blemish in him job 2 and 7. so went satan for it from the presence of the lord and he smote job with sore boils from the soul of his foot unto his crown or into the top of his head and when i spoke to you all on the internet that night or that morning that i recorded it it was a sunday morning and i was down in potts camp mississippi and about 3 a.m i felt that gentle nudge of the holy ghost to wake up and i felt led by the spirit of god to look up the word at that point that had absolutely changed our world the word being coronavirus and if you look up the word corona in its greek and latin origin it means crown and virus in its latin origin means poison so coronavirus interpreted really means crown poison or head poison or most importantly mind poison and i think that the coronavirus will do more damage than just attacking people's bodies but i believe the enemy is using it to poison our minds with fear doubt discouragement depression and anxiety he's using the manipulation of the media and fear-mongering to poison our minds and cause fear to grip our hearts and and please i'm not trying i know we're we're almost two years into this pandemic and i know that everybody in here probably uh we we all know someone who's passed away from this this horrible uh disease we know we know some that are are actually sick right now that aren't able to be here and and most of us have had it in here and so i'm not trying to diminish coronavirus tonight but i want us to understand not every single person in here will be on a respirator in the icu not everybody in here will uh lose their taste and smell not everybody uh will lose uh will have their lungs impacted in their bronchial tubes and air passageways but i can promise you every single one of us in here tonight have been affected in our minds over this last couple of years because the enemy he didn't he i don't think he released coronavirus but what he did was he piggybacked off of it and he released fear and an attack on our minds that has been ongoing ever since because he's trying to destroy us from within he's trying to destroy our minds tonight and the reason is is because he knows that it's in our minds where god speaks to us and i think he'd rather kill god's people mentally than physically because he knows that it's how god now now now pastor mccool you live on a different spiritual plateau than i do i'm sure every morning the holy ghost with a booming voice from heaven tells you what time to wake up and what outfit to put on and whether they have froot loops or cheerios for breakfast but that's not how god speaks to me he speaks to me as a still small voice in my mind as a thought in my mind and the enemy understands that that's how god speaks to his people and so the enemy has been working overtime for the last almost two years trying to pollute and poison and distract and deceive our minds so that we won't be able to hear the voice of god and if we have ever needed to hear the crystal clear voice of the chief shepherd it's in the world that we're living in so i refuse to let crown poison destroy my mind tonight the enemy of your soul wants you to be gripped with fear because he knows that fear and faith cannot coexist they work in opposition of each other it's amazing to me as i was looking over the christmas story to mary to joseph to the angels the first thing or to the shepherds the first thing the angel said to each one of those was fear not because they understood that the enemy will try to use fear to keep from what god is wanting to do in your life as a matter of fact in the book of revelation the same scripture that says all liars will burn in a lake of fire it also says the fearful will why because the enemy is trying to destroy our minds and cause us to fear things in this world i can prove it to you through scripture what what fear and faith would do for you david as he stepped out on a battlefield to fight an almost 10-foot tall champion by the name of goliath that was faith in operation the rest of israel were hiding in their tents scared to death they were they were operating in fear but david stood on a battlefield all by himself and he let faith arise in him and david didn't think he could do that but faith said that he could now the difference in faith and fear is that fear did something different in david's life because chapters later years later we find that saint david now he's not operating in faith now he's operating in fear and where do we find him when we find him living with the philistines living with the god-haters living with the enemy of israel living with the ones he spent his entire career fighting against why because he's not operating in faith now he's operating in fear he's running from the enemy he's running from saul and he's not operating in faith but now fear and that's the main difference between faith and fear tonight fear makes you do things that you never thought that you would do and faith will make you do things you never thought you could do because i've seen it over the last two years i've seen people that i that i never dreamed would do the things they've done i've seen people backslide i've seen people give up on god i've seen people quit paying their tithes and offerings and why because they're not operating in faith anymore now they're operating in fear and that's what he wants right now in this world he wants fear to attack us and make us lose our faith in the one who has brought us this far he wants to use this crown poison to keep us from attaining our crown the incorruptible crown that paul wrote about that we want to attain will turn into a corruptable crown if we let crown poison destroy us there won't be a crown of righteousness laid up for us because we won't love his appearing if we let crown poison distract us we won't be able to endure temptation when we are tried and we won't receive that crown of life that is promised to them that love him if we let crown poison destroy us tonight we won't receive that crown of glory that fadeth not away when the chief shepherd appears because crown poison will destroy our minds and our purpose in this life i've never seen a scripture more real than what we're living right now as paul spoke to timothy in second timothy 3 13 paul said but evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse if you're waiting for the world to get better i've got bad news for you tonight it's not going to get better 2000 years ago paul said in the end times it's going to get worse and worse and here's why deceiving and being deceived and guess where deception takes place in the mind and the scary thing about deception is if you're deceived you don't even know you're deceived someone can give you crystal clear facts and present the truth to you but you are deceived in your mind and you don't even know you're wrong and you think everybody else is wrong that's what we're seeing on a grand scale not just in america but all across the world people are believing a lie they're calling light darkness and darkness light they're calling good evil and evil good why because there is deception being released on this planet and god's people have got to get a made-up mind that i'm not going to let crown poison cause me to fear or cause me to be deceived because i've got a battle to win i've got a crown in heaven to gain and i'm going to make it tonight but i don't want to leave you hopeless this evening coronavirus didn't sneak up on god jesus isn't sitting on a throne in heaven nervously chewing his fingernails away he's not sipping on a bottle of maylox trying to drown his worries he had a plan over 2000 years ago for coronavirus because the bible says he went to a place called the skull the mind the calvary and he died for our sins and before he went to calvary he went to the whipping post and he was beaten for us and the bible says that with his stripes we are healed and that's not just a physical healing but that's an emotional healing a spiritual healing and a mind healing today and you can be healed in this place right now but i want you to notice what happened between the whipping post and the cross the bible says on the way to calvary a roman soldier reaches down into a thorn bush and pulls out a handful of thorns and he platted he created a crown of thorns and he put that crown of thorns as a sign of mockery on the head of jesus now some theologians believe that those thorns were poisonous thorns so jesus literally took a crown of poison for my crown poisoning tonight because as those two to three inch thorns pierced the brow of our savior i'm sure it was painful i'm sure it was a mockery but i believe jesus was looking down to the year 2020 and the year 2021 and he said my people are going to be under a mental attack and i'm going to allow myself to be wounded in my head so that they can be healed in theirs and if you came here tonight battling in your mind you came here with suicidal thoughts you came here with anxiety and depression and fear in your mind you don't have to leave here the same way you walked in there is healing in this house you can be healed in your mind you can be healed in your thoughts you can walk out of here victorious tonight because if you study it out you can consult dr google sometime about it but many physical ailments can be attributed to mental emotional and spiritual problems it's been documented that there are people laying on hospital beds right now laying and at home in hospice care laying in nursing homes and the doctor has said if they would just allow their minds to be healed their body would be healed because our body follows suit with what our minds do as a matter of fact i heard a story not long ago of a doctor and this doctor he what he does he specializes he comes in whenever other doctors have given up hope on a patient and he will walk into this room where someone is lying there dying and he will look at their chart he'll lay the chart down and he'll look at that patient laying there hopeless and he'll say i'm dr so and and i know the other doctors have given up hope on you but i just looked at your chart and i think you can make it i think you can be healed and i believe it's like a 78 success rate that when this doctor comes in and starts speaking live to a patient that's laying there dying that they get up out of the hospital bed and they go on to live their life the medicine didn't change the hospital room didn't change the only thing that changed was one doctor said you're gonna die and another doctor said you're gonna live and they finally started believing in their mind that there was hope and i don't know who i'm preaching to tonight i don't know what the devil's been telling you he's been saying that you're not going to make it that your family is not going to be saved that you're never going to be healed that you're never going to have revival but i've come to expose that lie tonight you are going to make it you will be healed your children will be saved you will have a revival we've got to quit letting our mind keep us from becoming who god wants us to become the apostle paul when he's instructing the church in ephesus about our daily armor one of the pieces of armor he mentions is the helmet of salvation it's not an accident or an afterthought that he mentions the helmet of salvation because he realized that all the other armor becomes ineffective if our minds aren't protected if we lose the battle of our mind we lose the battle because the rest of our being will follow suit with what our minds do salvation starts when you repent you get baptized and you get filled with the holy ghost but notice what paul said he didn't call it the helmet of faith or the or the the helmet of faith or the helmet of righteousness he called it the helmet of salvation because you know how you're going to stay saved in these end times is by guarding your mind and saying i refuse to let the enemy poison and distract and deceive my mind the rest of our body follows suit with what our mind does that's why paul constantly referred to jesus as the head of the body that's why paul told the church in philippians he said let this mind be in you which was also in christ jesus because if i can get my head right i can get everything else right today because because his crown is greater than their crown and his power is greater than their poison jesus christ is greater than coronavirus isaiah 53 and 5 is greater than covet 19. his stripes are greater than your sickness and his healing is greater than your hurt tonight but i want you to understand just how intricately connected our minds and our hearts are and i'll prove it to you through scripture in first chronicles 22 and 7 david says to solomon my son as for me it was in my mind to build a house into the name of the lord my god so david said it's in my mind to build a house for for the for the lord to dwell in and then six chapters later in first chronicles 28 and two then david the king stood upon his feet and said hear me my brethren and my people as for me i had in my heart to build a house for the lord so david said it started as a thought in my mind that now is in my heart and jesus comes along in the new testament and he says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh so think of your thought as a seed that gets planted in your mind that takes root in your heart and then becomes fruit out of your mouth that's why there's so much negativity and division and hatred in the world that we're living in it's because people's minds aren't right and if we can get our minds right we can get our hearts right and if we get our hearts right we can get our words right tonight because the real truth is that we consume so much content on a daily basis the only thing that we consume more than content on a daily basis is oxygen and we spend great amounts of money and time making sure that we're consuming quality air but what are we doing to filter our consumption of content if we worry about and work on what we consume with our lungs shouldn't we worry about and work on what we consume with our eyes and our ears and our minds what are we allowing to be sown into our hearts and our minds i think every once in a while we just need to turn the television off we need to turn the news off most of it's fake anyway we need to turn the radio off we need to turn fake book off we need to just unplug we need to get turn our not so smart phones off and get a made up mind that i refuse to let crown poison destroy who i am and what god wants to do in my life [Applause] david in his probably his most iconic chapter in the bible psalms 23 david writes beautiful words most of us can quote it but right in the middle of that chapter david says these words he says thou anointest my head with oil now some theologians believe that david is referencing the moment that the prophet samuel poured the anointing oil on his head and deemed him the next king of israel but when you look at psalms 23 from a totality you understand that david is referencing uh the relationship between a shepherd and sheep and something you've got to learn about sheep like all farm animals they have little flies that fly around their head and those flies will land in their eyes and they'll land in their nose and their ears and and they'll actually burrow into the nasal passages and the ear canals of these sheep and because of the the temperature of the the body of the sheep and and the moisture inside the head of the sheep it's a perfect place to incubate their eggs and they'll lay eggs in there and the eggs will hatch and when those eggs hatch the larva the little worms will start crawling around inside of the sheep's head and it torments the sheep and some have even recorded that sheep will take their head and bash it against a rock or a tree stump hoping to get relief of the torment that's in their head and in the process they'll kill themselves doing it and so shepherds have learned that if they'll take oil and pour it on a sheep's head it provides a lather of protection so the flies can't land and if the flies can't land they can't go into the nasal passages and the ear canals of the sheep and if they can't get in there they can't lay their eggs and if they don't lay their eggs the worms won't hatch and and and just torment the sheep and i know that none of us have flies flying around our head tonight or at least i hope we don't but you know what we do have we have spirits that are trying to get in our minds we have thoughts that are trying to get into our minds we have voices that are trying to speak into our minds and trying to destroy us from within and if we have ever prayed psalms 23 and 5 we need to start praying get god anoint my head with oil i need you to protect me because there's a world that's trying to destroy my mind and i need your protection tonight jesus isaiah said he would keep us in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him jesus said love the lord thy god with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind paul tells the church in rome and be not conformed to this world now we apostolic preachers have used that scripture to talk about how we should dress and where we should go and what we should do and yes i believe in all those things but that's not what paul's talking about here because here's what paul says in the rest of that scripture he says but be transformed by the renewing of your mind because here's what the agenda of the world is right now they want us to think like they think they want us to accept their agenda they want us to believe like they believe and paul said don't be conformed to the world's way of thinking but be transformed by the renewing of your mind then he tells the church in corinth he said casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of god and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of christ i heard just the other day on the radio that that clinical depression over this pandemic is on a 700 increase don't tell me there's not a battle for your mind tonight paul tells the church in ephesus he says and be renewed in the spirit of your mind he tells the church in philippians and the peace of god which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through christ jesus he tells the church in rome and let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind you know what paul's doing here he's reaching to the old testament and grabbing a hold of a proverb that says as a man thinketh in his heart so is he whatever you think becomes your reality if you think you're defeated tonight you are if you think you won't make it you won't if you think your family won't be saved they probably won't be but you know what i've come to challenge us tonight to change our stinking thinking tonight and we need to stop believing what the world says and we need to start believing what the word says because my bible says i'm healed by his stripes my bible says i'm more than a conqueror my bible says i'm victorious my bible says i'm an overcomer and we are going to make it but i've got to change the way i'm thinking tonight paul had this mind thing down that's why he in the book of acts he said i think myself happy right in the middle of the worst conditions of his life paul you've been shipwrecked you've been snake bit you've been beaten you've been stoned half to death you've had chains on your hands and on your feet you've been in prison you've had all this happen to you and paul how can you say i think myself happy because paul understood that i'm not going to let what's going on around here determine what's going on in here and i've come to challenge somebody it doesn't matter what's going on in your world right now it doesn't matter what the doctor said it doesn't matter what the lawyer said it doesn't matter what the politicians have said you need to understand tonight that you can think yourself happy you can think yourself healed you can think yourself whole you can think yourself holy because what you think there's a power to your thinking tonight and what you think will become your reality tonight that's what the woman with the issue of blood did yeah 12 years she'd been living a life of isolation and we thought 2020 made up words like quarantine and social distancing and shelter at place no that's a biblical thing this woman had an issue of blood for 12 years she was quarantined she wasn't allowed to be around anybody but one day jesus is passing through and she the bible says she says within herself that's just a fancy way of saying she thought it she said if i can just touch the hymn of his garment i shall be made whole and before her week anee mccann ever reached up and touched the master's robe in her mind she was already healed and i wonder how many times we come to an altar physically but we don't come to an altar mentally because i believe your miracle starts in your mind tonight and if you think that tonight can be your night then let it start in your mind and say tonight is my night for a breakthrough tonight is my night for my healing tonight is my night for my miracle i'm gonna think it before god does it tonight look at the prodigal son knee deep in mucking mire clothes tattered and torn he had already lost his air moses flip-flops in the mud his right guards already went left his family rings in the pawn shop and right in the middle of a pigpen he says to himself how many people in my daddy's house have it better than i do here i need to get out of the pig pen and i need to get back to my father's house and before he ever pulled his feet out of the muck in the mire before he ever hopped over the pigpen fence before he ever started his long journey back to the father's house in his mind he was already wearing a new robe in his mind he already had brand new shoes in his mind he could already hear the the servants get in the ring and putting it back on his hand in his mind he could already smell the aroma of the fatty calf on the grill why because it starts in your mind and i don't know who i'm preaching to maybe you're in a pig pen tonight because of your decisions maybe you're a prodigal or a backslider or maybe you're just in a pigpen of hurt and frustration and sickness but i wish you could understand that if you can get your mind right god can do anything in this house tonight but you've got to say i'm going to think it before i ever achieve it tonight paul warns us i'm almost done paul warns us in second thessalonians two and two he said be not soon shaken in mind or be troubled neither by spirit nor by word nor by letter as from us as the day of christ is at hand paul said when you see the day of christ coming and i don't know if you can tell by the way the news is almost daily biblical prophecies are being fulfilled jesus christ is coming soon and paul said when you see that happening he said the first thing don't be soon shaken in your mind because he understood 2 000 years ago that there was going to be a battle of the mind and those that can endure to the end that's not just a physical thing that's a mental thing that's why the book of daniel i i don't get into end time prophecy that's not my thing revelation and daniel it sounds like somebody ate pizza and and had some pizza bad dreams whenever they were writing those stories but the bible says in daniel that there's a wearing down of the saints in the end time and if you study that out that's not just a physical wearing down that's a mental wearing down and that's what we're seeing right now that's why paul said that when you see the end times coming don't be soon shaken in your mind because you've got to get a hold of this tonight that in these end days it's going to be in my mind whether i'm going to make it or not that's why there'll be a falling away that's why there'll be some that'll come up short they'll come to church they'll look the part they'll act apart but their minds are going to be deceived paul tells timothy in second timothy 1 and 7 for god has not given us the spirit of fear if you're operating in fear tonight that is not a gifting of the holy ghost he said but here's what god has given us he's given us power bible says you shall receive power after the holy ghost has come upon you that's not that's power to live right power to dress right power to talk right power to act right and power to think right and of love you don't think we need more love in this world with all the the hatred and the disunity and the division in this place and he said and a sound mind i believe if we would get rid of fear and cast out fear and replace it with love and power and a sound mind i don't think there's a devil in hell that could stop us i don't think there's anything in this world that could stop the apostolic church if we would get rid of fear and replace it with power love and a sound mind tonight paul writes in philippians 4 and 8 finally brethren and i agree with him finally brethren i'm done preaching what several things are true whatsoever things are honest whatsoever things are just whatsoever things are pure whatsoever things are lovely whatsoever things are of a good report if there be any virtue and if there be any praise think on these things but here's the problem for the last almost two years we've been thinking on those things we've been thinking about what fox news and cnn and all the things we see on facebook and and what dr fraud she says and and the the cdc and the who whoever the who is we've been thinking on those things and paul said think on these things i need to change what i'm thinking i need to change what i want to change i want to believe what the word of god says why because there's a christ in our crisis tonight there's a savior in our circumstance there's hope in our hopelessness there's peace in this pandemic there's strength for our struggle there's purpose in our pain and there's a reason to worship right in the middle of my worry because jesus christ has overcome coronavirus jesus christ has overcome coveting jesus christ has overcome crown poison and i can walk out of here with a clear mind and clear thoughts tonight if everybody would stand all across this house we're going to do things a little different if that's all right tonight i know we oftentimes will itemize our altar calls if you've never repented come if you've never been baptized come if you've never been filled the holy ghost come and yes i believe all those things tonight if you need those things please come please or if you need healing you need deliverance you need this you need that you need a miracle come but we're going to do something a little different tonight and i want us i know we preach against being selfish but tonight i'm giving you permission to be spiritually selfish because i don't want you praying for anybody else in this house i don't want you praying for your spouse i don't want you praying for your children i don't want you praying for backsliders i don't want you to pray for here miracles or healings i don't want you praying for revival because the truth is tonight none of that's going to happen if we don't get our minds right so what i want us to do for the next few minutes in this house i want you to find a place to pray and i want your prayer to be god touching my mind touch my thoughts and touch my heart because god nothing else matters if i'm not saved and i won't be saved if i don't keep my mind right and keep my thoughts right and so god i want you to touch my mind and touch my thoughts and touch my heart so what i want us to do for the remainder of this service for this next few minutes i want to whether you want to come down front kneel stand if you want to sit where you're at if you want to walk around just let's turn this whole place into an altar today let's turn this whole place into a prayer room and let's find a posture of prayer somewhere in this house and let's pray god touch my mind touch my thoughts and touch my heart tonight there's a battle for your crown tonight the devil's trying to poison you tonight [Music] we got to get a made-up mind as these last few days of 2021 going into this brand new year that we've got to get our minds right we've got to get our thoughts right we've got to get our hearts right
