Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Divine distractions and the fight for focus

  • God is presented as one who interrupts settled routines to recapture the attention of his people, and believers are urged not to let anything pull them away from him in this hour.
  • The burning bush that stopped Moses, the fish that stopped Jonah, the miraculous catch that stopped Simon, and the poolside conversation at Bethesda are retold as God's deliberate distractions.
  • The charge is to lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily besets, and to keep the purpose in front of the eyes so it is not forgotten.

Scriptures: Romans 8:35; Hebrews 12:1

Ziglag is not your resting place

  • Ziglag lay in enemy territory and was never David's retirement place; staying too long where you should never have built a house lets sin strengthen itself.
  • The Amalocites are named dwellers of the valley: the valley is inevitable, and the sermon insists God's people must learn to fight and to worship there, not only on the mountaintop.
  • The preacher tells the students that worship must not change with circumstance, up or down, blessed or opposed, and that a prayer life learned young will save heartache later.

Scriptures: 1 Samuel 30:18-19

Recover your value and your joy

  • David identified what he had lost at Ziglag: his two wives, whose names are expounded as value and joy; before recovery comes identifying the loss.
  • David did not take his marching orders from the crowd but inquired of the Lord for himself, and only then pursued with God's sanction.
  • The recovery was total, with nothing lacking, small or great, and David shared the spoil even with those who had not fought; the hearers are urged to get their value and their joy back before the school year begins.

Scriptures: 1 Samuel 30:18-19

>> I love you, dude. Why >> don't you lift that up to the Lord? Would you do that? To the Lord. Come on. To the Lord. [Music] To the Lord. Can you do it one more time? [Music] [Applause] >> You're not doing it for me. He's been good to us, though. God has been gracious toward us, and I'm thankful. I'm thankful for that. It is such a blessing to be with God's people and um what God is already doing here, not just today. I I think that if in the books of heaven as they tabulate the God interactions, [Music] you know, you you think it's just the Lord healing cancer and then we rejoice. That that's major. I've I've seen that happen. I've seen that happen. But how about to the person that had no intention of coming to an altar? any. This is what the church does. We celebrate any step toward God. >> Any step. Amen. And so I'm thankful for the goodness of God and and these young people and all these beautiful one did tell me, brother Jay, just so you know, I was a teenager. But this morning, what what God did um and what God is doing right now and what God will do in a few moments >> and hopefully what God >> what God will do in our school >> and what God will do in your work because this is what I believe because of the signs of the times we need God to show up every single day. How many believe that? >> Come on. We need him to show up in my house, in your house, the church house, the schoolhouse, whatever. H we need Jesus to show. Why don't you raise your hands to the Lord? God, would you just step in? [Music] Show us how close you really are. Thank you, Jesus. Amen. Amen. If you have your Bibles, 1 Samuel. Let's try it again. 1st Samuel chapter 30, two verses in your hearing. And David, verse 18, 1st Samuel 3:18. And David recovered what? Not some, not 50%. And David recovered all that the Amalocites had carried away. And David rescued his two wives. And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor anything that they had taken to them. And David recovered all. Let's ask the Lord one more time to step into our room, this house, and speak to our lives. Lord, I love you. I'm thankful for you. I don't give you enough praise. But you have been miss you have been so merciful toward us. >> God, would you do something special beyond man's hands? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. >> God, there's some young people, they need courage right now. They need courage right now. They don't need to go to school hoping for a miracle. They need to go to school already filled with the Holy Ghost expecting >> God to show up. I think he can do it in every school, every public school, every college. I think that God, you want to show up. I think you do. Come on, clap your hands to the Lord. Amen. You may be seated. You're worthy of it all. You're worthy of it all. For from you are all things and to you are all things. You deserve the gloryy. You're worthy of it all. Come on choir. You're worthy of it all. For from you are all things and to you are all and you deserve the glory [Music] again. You're worthy of it. [Music] >> Yes. Yes. You're worthy. >> For from you are all things and to you are all things. You deserve glory. [Music] We exalt thee and we exalt thee for we exalt thee. And oh Lord, come on. Can you help me? Hold on. And we >> Yes. For we >> sounds beautiful. >> We [Music] I tell you, I'm so crazy. God is so good. He is so good. He is so good. He is so good. Well, well, Brother Jay, you don't know what's going on. Maybe that's a blessing. Maybe it's easier to see how how great he is when we're not focused on everything. [Music] [Applause] Woo. >> I want to talk to you. I want to talk to you on this subject. Divine distractions. >> Divine distractions. You know, throughout scripture, thank you so much, bro. Thank you. throughout scripture. It's it's almost it's almost a conflict in my mind when I talk about this because throughout scripture, I've been I've been trained I've been I've been taught I've been I've studied throughout scripture that we are supposed to fight as hard as we can against distractions. We're supposed to fight for focus, right? Romans 8, he said, "Who shall separate us from the love of God?" What are we going to allow just to pull us away? I think that we're so close to the coming of the Lord just saying this would be the worst time not to be right. The Bible says in Hebrews, it said that we should lay aside every weight and the sin that does so easily beset us, distract us, pull us away, tear us away. And so when I start thinking about I've got to fight for focus. I've got to I've got to really understand that God, what you're doing, I've got to keep the purpose in front of me. It's hard to forget >> if we keep it in front of us. >> Amen. And so in this life, in this school year, in this in this this this this week coming up, that this is what I found to be true is that the more that I look through, the more I look through scripture, the more I find that there is a lot of divine distractions that God has kind of placed >> on purpose just to let us know that when you are so fixed and focused and your reality it it just you feel it you wake up the burden is there you're over the Bible says we are troubled on every single side can I take can I just start with this we need a God distraction in our world oh yes we do need God to step in and say oh by the way I'm still king I'm still God and the gates of hell cannot prevail against the Right. Right. So, so you have now my message. I just want to prove my point. Moses is tending to his father-in-law's sheep, right? He's just doing his thing. He's not running from the call of God. He probably doesn't even really know what the call of God is on his life yet. He's just tending to his father's sheep. Follow sheep. And he makes the corner and all of a sudden there is a distraction. one that he would not soon forget. A burning bush, but it's not being consumed. You know, there's there's another thing. Brother Anthony brought Jonah is supposed to preach the gospel, but he says, "Not me. find somebody else. And God says, "Okay, I know how to get your attention." >> What if What if the fish was just a distraction? >> Come on, >> Jesus. Oh, help me God. Jesus. They don't know it, but he's on on the shore and ticked off Simon and all his cohorts are in the boat not catching anything, which is not a problem for me because I'm not a fisherman, but he's a professional fisherman. >> Oh, yeah. So he's probably a little bit professionally frustrated, not catching anything. And some loudmouth on the shore saying, "Hey y'all, y'all catch anything?" No, we taught all night. I'm surprised Simon, knowing his personality, even responded. He says, "Why don't you throw it on the other side?" Obviously, they didn't argue. They did it. And all of a sudden, Josh says, "Bro, I just want you to know there's nobody that I feel like I I could scream. >> There's nobody that talks to us like that." And we catch a a big drought of fish. There's nobody. I want you to know that's Jesus. And the Bible says that Jesus or that Simon Peter grabbed what clothes he had, threw it on his shoulders, and dove in and said, "I'm not waiting for y'all. I'm not bringing in the You see what happens when Jesus shows up? You forget about the monetary victory and you just want to get to Jesus. >> Could it be nothing more than a simple divine distraction? >> Jesus. One more. One more. So Jesus, this this blows my mind. Jesus goes to Bethesda. He knows there's sick folk there >> and he finds a guy. You know the story. Many of you know it. The guy has been there for 38 years. And it's not even that he doesn't want to be healed. He tries. He's just not strong enough. He's not quick enough. Right? Jesus pass everybody by to talk to one guy that's been there for 38 years to have a conversation with. This is Jesus. Because sometimes he would go into a city, everybody would get healed, but he goes to Bethesda. He has one conversation, picks him up, he's healed, and the Bible does not record another miracle at Bethesda. Because sometimes Jesus will step into your Bethesda. He will step right slap dab in the middle of your misery and of your pain and of your trouble and of your dysfunction and all the things that are going on. And Jesus will just step in, say one little thing, and all of a sudden, what you were focused on, I'm not focused on because Jesus has captured my I wonder if there's anybody in this room that says, "Would you this week, God, capture my attention?" Come on. Is there anybody that's praying the prayer? I want to see you. I want to see you. Come on, clap your hands to the Lord. [Applause] So David, David, his life is riddled with fights and wars and swords clanging and arrows being slung, thrown, shot. Thank Thank you. Oh, what a Bible scholar you are. Aren't you blessed? You're awesome. I love you. Chant John at this place called Zicklag. Now, when I was reading it, I started putting the whole context of everything that's kind of going on. Of course, he's supposed to grab his guys from Ziglag and they're supposed to go to Gilboa because the king there wants David and his men to fight Israel. Now, if David felt bad for cutting the cape of Saul, he's not going to get on the battlefield and fight against. He's not going to do that. So, what does God do to preserve David? Because this would be the the battle, if you know your Bible, this is the battle. Gibbo is the battle where Saul and Jonathan will die. So God creates a distraction. What's the distraction? Sick lag burn with fire. Now, I've got to tell you a couple of things that we need to know that I just jotted down some thoughts that I think is very applicable to all of us today is that Ziglag was not within Israel. It was in the enemy's territory. So, we need to know this about Ziglag. Ziglag was never the retirement community for David. It would not be his 20-year stent or his 68-year stent at Ziglag. He knew that the hand of God was on him. He was anointed. At some point, he's going to have to come from the enemy's territory and come back to Israel. In fact, Ziglag would be one of the motiv one of the motivations to bring David back into his purpose. So, can I tell you with this principle in mind that Ziglag is not your final resting place? It No, no, no, no. It's not. You may be there. The Bible, the Bible teaches that it was about a year that David was at Zik. It was never sp Don't stay too long in your trouble. Don't stay too long behind enemies lines >> because I think that sometimes sin has a way of coming and then strengthening herself when we stay too long where we should have never built a house. Oh yeah. I just had a a young lady I just did a wedding yesterday and at this at this wedding there's a girl that was raised in our church dating a guy that doesn't exactly have a lot of morals and I'm driving back home to load my car to come here and I'm thinking she's not going to like staying in Ziglag because if You stay there too long, it's all going to go up in flames. It was never supposed to be. It was simply a distraction. Something had to motivate David enough to get him up out of ziglag, up out of the I wonder how many times God has brought for you a divine intervention, intercession, or even a distraction just because you're not going to move. You're not going to do that. Sometimes he allows things in our life just so that we can be rack back on the rails. The way can I tell you, God knows how to get my attention. And I'm not saying it's all bad to get my attention, but I'm just saying this that thank God that he sends a preacher with a word or he sends a word of encouragement to say, "Listen, you were never born to stay in Ziglag." I got to tell somebody prophetic, you were never made to stay in Ziglag. [Applause] Number two, you need to understand the enemy, the Amalocites. This floored me when I saw this. When I looked at it and I started researching, I started looking up words. You know what the Amalocites, one of the definitions of them is that they were dwellers of the valley. They lived in a valley. They knew the valley. They fought in the valley. They triumphed in the valley. David, Goliath, where did they fight? In a valley. Can I tell you ladies and gentlemen, that the valley, Come on, young person. Come on. You 13year-old, come on. You 16 year old, the in the the valley is inevitable. Nobody gets to walk through this life without dealing with the valley. But do you want to know what God is trying to tell us? That we've got to learn to fight victorious fights in the valley. Not just on the Thank God for God healing you and your mountaintop experience. But can I tell somebody has to know how to pray when nobody wants to pray. Somebody Somebody's got to learn the art of dancing on the battlefield when nobody else Oh, come on, somebody. [Applause] Not even your pastor can bail you out of a valley. >> Come on. There is something inside of us. I remember as a young man in in Christian school and home friendship groups were just kind of taking off and our our home church was kind of one of the help the launch churches and uh and I remember we started having these these these cell groups in in our school and I got to be part of the pilot of that and we started doing some Bible studies and we started doing this. I think that what God was teaching me before he ever before I ever knew that I'd ever walk on this platform that he was trying to teach me, Michael, you need to understand that if you're in Africa, your worship shouldn't change. If you're in America, your worship shouldn't change. Come on. If you're down, your worship shouldn't change. If you're up, your worship shouldn't change when everybody's blessing you. Your worship shouldn't change when everybody's against you. Your worship shouldn't say what God's trying to say. You need to learn how to fight in the valley [Applause] >> because mountains were made to rejoice but valleys were made to fight. And I wish there's some young people. Come on. Do you know how much it would save you if at 13, 12 that you learned that you can have an authority prayer life? Come on. At a young age that will save you heartache and grief in in your latter years. I wish that there would be some kid, some young person that would say, "You know what? I don't want shattered dreams. I want to learn how to get my posture right. I want to learn how to get my position right. I want to know that I'm not just looking good, but I know how to fight good. Oh, come on. Let the a spirit of the a spirit of God grab a hold of all of us and say, we've got to know that my prayer is not so I feel spiritual. My prayer is so I learn how to articulate in communication with God. >> Oh, somebody praise the Lord for a minute. [Applause] Valley's not always fun. The valley's not always fun. Valley is not NYC. That That's not that that that's not happens. No. when I get home and I my wife and I have talked and um this is public knowledge. I said, "If there's any criticisms on my preaching, can you please wait till Monday? I can't handle it." How many of us have looked at a valley that you know you have to go through >> and you're like, "Anybody want me to count stones. I'll do anything in the world. I just don't want to go over there. But can I tell you, there's something. >> Come on. If you're going to come to this altar, you're going to have to come through an aisle. >> Yeah. >> Valley, a narrow passage, but I'm telling you, the more that we learn to come through the valley with wisdom, with a little fight, and most importantly, that his word is a lamp unto my my feet and a light unto my path. You can make it through. Come. I'm here to tell you, you can make it through your valley. If you're in a valley right now, you can make it through your valley. There's not one valley that God's never been in. There's not one valley that has all victory. You can make it through your valley. But we've got to deal with the Amites. [Applause] >> I remember. I remember. I remember on the back side of the world called Carl'sb, New Mexico. Nobody was around. I started perfecting my dance before the Lord. Now, I could care less what you think about it. But there's sometimes I think he likes it. >> There's just because I'm not thinking about what's going on in my world. I think myself happy when I think of the goodness of Jesus and all that he's done for me. That's not your song. That's my song. Come on. I perfected the art of that song when I was on the back side of a mountain. Can you come a God distraction when all of a sudden a burning bush shows up? Can I tell you God has given us some some burning bush experiences that nobody was there to witness it? They'll call you a fool if you tell them what happened. But I was there and God showed up. Come on, somebody. >> I'm not talking about let's go to school and hope it works well. I'm talking about let's make sure we're not in Ziglag. Let's make sure that we identify the dwellers of the valley >> because low times will come. Difficult times will come. Heavy times will come. Uncertain times will come. Brokenness will come. Sure will. N number three, if you're keeping track, you need to figure out what exactly you lost at Zigllay because the Bible never says one time that David was lamenting over his parsonage. No. The reason people were about to kill him, loyal people were about to string him up is because he not only lost what was most valuable, they lost it too. The Bible says that his two wives were taken. Ahome, the Jezeelitis, and Abigail, the wife of Nabal, the Carmelite. Well, that may not mean a whole lot until you look at what the gals names mean. My goodness. The Bible says that a hen, however you pronounce it, yach, yach, yach, yach, however you pronounce it, it means value. And guess what Abigail means? You've been singing about it all night. Joy. >> So what was prompting David to go after what he lost. Number one, he identified what he lost. I lost my value and I lost my joy. Can I tell you before school starts in this service, some of you need to get your value back. Stop looking to Facebook and Instagram to get your value. They can't value you. >> Get on GQ all you want to do, but I'm telling you that's not the value. That's not the total measure of a man or a woman. The total measure of a man or a woman is who I am. [Applause] You know what happens? You know what happens? This is what I found to be true. What happens is is when you lose your value and you lose your joy, then you lose your responsibility to the next generation. Because who are our students supposed to follow the example of? And remember, no, this is not this is just I was probably ticked at something. I'm Italian and I'm human and we had a young convert come and I said, "I think the best place for you to sit in church." Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Whatever you want. That's how new converts are. Whatever you say, I'll do whatever. I just want Jesus. I don't care what he looks like. I don't care how I feel. I don't care what what's going the going rate is. I just want Jesus. I've experienced so much good from him that I've never experienced anywhere else. I said the best place for you to sit in this church is right next to me. Not not not next to somebody that that don't know which way heaven is. You see what I'm saying? I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just trying to say that our new converts, I want you to understand that I got a little bounce in my step. I got a little joy, a little action going on. My point is this. I don't want to lose my joy. And I don't want to lose my value. I don't want the world telling me what I'm valuable or not. I don't want the the city telling me how valuable I am or not. I want the word of God. Every day, humans deal with low self-esteem and abandonment and abuses. So, what's my job? If you're breathing, you got value. If you're breathing, come on. We had a girl that that ran ran away in in Wilson. She she ran away in a lot lot of stuff. lot lot lot of broken pieces in this situation. And when I finally found her and we got her in and brought her into the station and uh she's sitting there and she's she's crying and she's saying this and she's saying this and I happen to have my dog with me, which is my million-doll dog. Oh my goodness. And Blue, I wish I I wish I had a picture for you. He's just cute. He doesn't fix nobody's problems. You know what it's called? a reset. That's it. It's a positive my god distraction. That's his job. That is his job. And he comes in the room to where this girl is crying. She's cold. Her socks are sping wet. She's been walking outside in the rain and all this. And Blue comes right in and lays right next to her. That's not something you train. Just Just give me a sec. You don't train You don't train therapy. That's you train obedience. You don't train temperament. >> So that little four-legged beautiful thing called blue, it's in his temperament to bypass people that are just going through stuff. And he goes, it's magical. It really is that he goes into where the need is and he lays down and within five minutes most times the kids or or the adults that are dealing with something, they'll say, "Oh, thank I think I'm good. I'm good. Thanks, Rev." And and they go back on the way. Can I tell you what what what what that young lady needed to hear from me was not how bad she was, not how broken she was, not how cold she was. That was obvious. She needed to know that you're breathing. There's value. There's value in you. You're breathing. She didn't want to hear my scriptures, so I did it covertly. [Applause] Talk about encouragement. Encouragement. I have done things in my life that I would have never done, Bishop, had I not been encouraged to do it. Is there anybody besides me that would say, "Me, too." You would have never accomplished that goal. You would have never accomplished. You would have never done this. You would have never said nothing to that person. You would have never gone out of your way because we just think that nobody cares. And my value. Do you want to know what God wants to do in our students and in our staff and in our church family and in your neighbors and in your family? He wants to baptize you with the value that the world didn't give it. And the world can't take it away. >> And don't forget about the joy. The joy that is not happiness. Joy is a spiritual fruit. It is a God thing. That's why the Bible says it doesn't say you got to have a 42 foot vertical. It just says you got to leap >> for joy. What what's what's that quote? What's that quote that says often times people are thought to be insane by those who can't hear the music? You call me crazy all you want to call me, ladies and gentlemen. But I'm telling you what, I'm hearing something. I'm moving to I'm grooving to something because God is my answer. And there's some young people you need to know. You can do it. You can make it. You can finish the race. Come on. If you believe it, stand your feet. Clap your hands. The joy. Oh, yes. [Applause] They tell us they tell us that Mr. Moplin would know this better than I, but there's a a loss model. There's a loss model when you're dealing with people that there is brother Reagan would know this better than I that it telegraphs most of the time what the what the mannerisms and behavior is going to spell out by figuring out what they lost. Have they lost perspective? Have they lost reality? Have they lost control or have they lost hope? If you have lost perspective, you can get it right now. Come on. If you're just living for you, I'm telling you, you've lost perspective. And your body language will tell it. Your man mannerisms will tell. If you've lost a sense of reality, then you're going to you're going to say things and do things. If you've lost hope and there's just no help. Can Can I Can I tell you a story? Thank you. I was in church. I was in church and we were just finishing up and I got a a a text, a call from my sergeant and it almost made me mad because he knew I was in church. What are you thinking? There was two calls missed from him and I get done preaching and I'm in altar call. We're praying with people in the altar and I get another call from another officer. My god, oh my goodness. So I I I get away and I says, "What's what's up?" He says, "You need to get over here. You need you need you need to call Sergeant right now. I know you're in church. You need to call him right now." And so we had just hear me. Hear me for a second because I learned something that I had not realized. We had a man that was had barricaded himself. And because there's youngsters in here and this is not the 16 and over class. We we they didn't have a negotiator. So get the preacher. So I went in talking. I'm writing stuff down. SWAT. They've they've shut down the whole block. And here I come in my Sunday duds. I'm walking and they bring me over to a phone and I'm I'm like trying to reel I'm I just came out of altar call, you know, I'm trying to figure things out. So, we're talking eight hours. It didn't end well. And um no matter what we said, no matter what we talked about, no matter went through all the training and I went back, brother Mcool went back to my car and I remember I sat in my car and everybody's doing I'm sorry guys, I keep on moving and I'm I'm sitting there and everybody's processing everything and I'm like, God, it's not supposed to happen like this. I'm Holy Ghost filled. I've tried to give you my life. I've tried to do everything that you've asked and required and prompted me and provoked me to do. Wh why I mean I mean tears are running down my face. Why could I not save him? Nothing came. And the next next morning or so, I was in prayer and God spoke to me, Bishop, and he said, "I never called you to save him." You You don't? No. No. I'm the savior. You're the messenger. It's not your job to save Knoxville, Tennessee. It's our job to love them >> and to preach truth >> because there's some young people >> in here. It's not my job just to make sure it it's somebody's job to do something right. But it's my job to make sure that the environment is safe enough that when you want to pray, you get to pray. If you need the Holy Ghost, you get the Holy Ghost. When you need to be baptized, you get B. And when you need to vent to somebody that's not going to go and blab it everywhere. Can I tell you like come on church that God didn't call you to save your business. God didn't call you to save your co. He called you to be a light. [Applause] I would have to tell you this that that one episode that I was called from church was nothing more than a divine distraction >> that sickness. What if it's nothing more? I I know I'm not minimizing it, but what if it's nothing more than a distraction? Sister Colleen eventually died of cancer. She led our our addiction class, had all the passion for it. She she just knew everybody. she but be before she passed away. There was nurses that were walking into her room that would just find a seat. If I understand the story correctly, they just found a seat and they just sat there because there was something different about that hospital room. There was something different. People will make excuses just to come and sit in my office at the high school. Just it it's a cool office, but they'll just come and they'll sit. There's something different. They don't know how to articulate that the way we do, but what it is, it's the peace of God. It's the peace of God. It's a peace of God. There's nothing wrong. Come on. When you understand what you've lost, when you understand what you lo I've got to get my joy back. I would not sit in this church two more seconds if you don't have joy. I would run to the front say, "God, refill me and I'll leap until you give it. I'll do whatever you got to do. If you've lost your value, I would not go home tonight without getting your value back. Music come. David, this is not the whole story. This it's not it's not the whole story is he got everything back. The end of the story is he gets everything back and then he doesn't just hoard it. He starts giving it away to people that never fought. But it wasn't about the win. This is what I'm trying to tell you. It was not about the win. It was about the journey. >> Because the next thing David does, he figures out Zigglag. He understands the Amlikites. He realizes what he lost. The very next thing that sometimes we bypass is he gets away from everybody else want to hurt him and he inquires in the Lord. He doesn't get his marching orders from social media. He doesn't get his marching orders from some disjointed attitude having individual. No, he goes straight to God and said, "Is it true? Is it your will that I recover? Cuz I'm not going to fight a battle >> that you're not going to be in." And he begins to talk to God for himself. Wonder if you'd just raise your hand to the Lord. Come on. Why are you young person? Hear me. I understand. But why? Why are you putting more credence in your physical ability than you are inquiring in the Lord? Because in the kingdom of God, maybe not on a basketball court, but in the kingdom of God, you can win the race and lose the race because of how you ran it. He's not looking. If it was just about Jesus dying, this what brother Jason Osburn said. If it was just about Jesus dying, they should have killed him when he was kid. If it's just about him dying, then kill him a young. But it wasn't just about him dying. It was about him embracing the humility and the torture. And sometimes our troubles and our trials are so overwhelmed. But this is my this is what God I feel is trying to talk to me and teach me. Why is it that you so easily step over what I've tried to distract you with? Come on. It is a burning bush experience. It is a whale of a tail experience. It is a fish uh story that you're going to catch. It It was a Be Bethesda story. Maybe we have some teenagers in here that you're starting to put all this effort and all this stuff and you forgot to inquire. Lord, is this your will? Is this your plan? Oh, God. He encourages himself. And after he got the voice of God, he said, "Strap up, boys. >> It's time to pursue. It's time to go get our stuff back." You know what the Bible says? that there was 400 men that went with David. 200 were so weak they couldn't go. And David said, "You just stay here. We'll go." 400 men. And they fought. I think it's like two daysish. And not one of David's men was killed. Because when you start pursuing and God has already sanctioned, you can't lose. And not only are you going to get your joy back and you're going to get your value back. >> Yes. >> And you're going to get your kids back. >> You're going to get the next generation back. Let me tell you what else you're going to get. You're going to get all the spoil that that enemy has stolen from everybody. You're always It's like it's it's it's like the the the 12 baskets of remnant. That's the concept of God. If Come on. I'm wondering if there's anybody in this room that are saying I'm resisting God and God's trying to distract you. I'm fighting against God and God's trying to say, "No, no, this a wakeup call. No, I'm trying to tell you I'm close to you. I'm trying to let you know that I'm with you and I'm not against you. that you're going to pursue and you're going to win and you're going to have revival. >> Stand with me. [Music] God's not against you. Come on. I got a a dog that's a distraction. I got some prayer warriors. They're trying to encourage him. Say, "Pastor, we're going to have revival. Pastor, we're going to have revival." man came at the end of service. We got our issues. He says, "Pastor, can I say something?" It was out of of the norm. It doesn't happen. And can I say something? He's elder trustee in our church. I said, "Go ahead, brother Greg." He said, "I just feel like like God, you're trying to tell us this." And he gave me a a dream of clouds, three clouds. It wasn't the Holy Trinity, three clouds. And one said perspective and one said unity. I think the other said the power of God. And I thought to myself, sometimes we've been working so hard in the trench and focus so much on what I got to do that I forgot to lift up my eyes to the heels. If you need a miracle in this room, Jesus is here. If you need deliverance in this room, Jesus is here. If you're a young person and you want the Holy Ghost, Jesus is here. If you're a young adult and everything is going so fast and you need a distraction, Jesus is in this room. And that distraction, I can go through my life how I've been distracted. Divine distractions that has set me in order in certain areas of my life. [Music] Okay, sing. Can you say a chorus? I trust in God, my savior, the one who will. [Music] Come on, somebody. Stop fighting it. Get distracted. Come on, somebody. As you make your way to this altar, okay, God, you're my attention. You're my attention. I'm getting my joy back. Come on, somebody. You didn't get your joy back. Give God your trouble, you get your joy back. Come on. Give him your praying back. You get your value back. Come on, young person. When you walk in into school, wherever it is, come on. Walk in with value in your life. Walk back with those restored relationships with Christ. Trust in God, my savior. >> The one who will never fail. >> You are valuable. [Music] God's working in your life. >> God's going to do greater greater work shall he do through you who will never. [Music] >> One more time. Oh, and I trust Godavior. [Music] >> Make up your mind today. >> Come on. I'm going to start school with my right foot. >> I'm going to start with my right foot. I want to start with some some pursuit, perspective, some unity, some dominion. Myior, >> he going to work it out. I'm tell you, he's going to work it out. will never. >> He's going to work it out. Don't eject. >> Come on. Don't eject. God's going to work it out. God's going to work it out. So I trust in God, my savior, the one who will never come on. Come on. >> He will never fail.
