Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Assurance in the Letter
- Whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world, and the victory that overcomes the world is our faith.
- John wrote to those who believe on the name of the Son of God that they may know they have eternal life.
- The Son of God has come and given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true.
- God does not want his people living in doubt and uncertainty; assurance is rooted in knowing who he is.
Scriptures: 1 John 5:4-5; 1 John 5:13; 1 John 5:20
The Love God Hates
- Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world; the world is not winning.
- Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world; if any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- All that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father.
- The world passes away with its lusts, but he that does the will of God abides forever.
- The world system dresses itself up like cosmetics, concealing its corruption under a skin-deep beauty.
Scriptures: 1 John 4:4; 1 John 2:15-17
Just Do It
- God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son; the same word for world also names the evil system organized against God.
- We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, and the cosmic powers over this present darkness.
- The object of our faith is Jesus Christ himself, not the size of our faith; these signs follow them that believe.
- The word John uses for overcome is the root of Nike, the goddess of victory; victory comes through assurance, not self-confidence.
- No one overcomes the world without being born again of the water and of the Spirit.
Scriptures: John 3:16; Ephesians (book-only, as spoken); John (book-only, as spoken)
Return to Your First Love
- Christ's word to the Ephesian church in Revelation was that they had left their first love.
- Assurance comes from knowing who he is and what he has done; he can keep, shape, help, and provide.
Scriptures: Revelation (book-only, as spoken)

Someone say overcomemeth. >> That didn't sound like you were overcoming anything. Someone say overcomemeth. >> Overcometh the world. And this is the victory that overcomemeth the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomemeth the world? But he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God. I'm going to give you my title. It might not make sense. I bet it sounds familiar to you. Just do it. Just do it. I think you might. Does that Is that familiar to anybody? Just do it. All right. Put your Bibles down, your devices down. Let's pray. Father, we thank you for your spirit that is here today. The wonderful spirit of the Lord that is in this room. But we thank you for your word that is alive today. And I pray that you would help me, oh God, this jar of clay to help me to present your word with the anointing, with your spirit, with passion, and also with clarity today. But help us to receive something from your word that we might be changed and leave here transformed for we can make a difference in our world if that happens in us. In Jesus' name we pray. And everyone said, "Amen." >> Amen. Look at somebody and say, "Just do it." >> Now, tell somebody else with a little more passion than that, "Just do it." >> Then you can be seated. All right. Just do it. Now, I've been on a at least 10 to 11 11 month journey studying the letter of First John. And I'll be teaching it at a church in Indiana here next month. and it goes with some Bible studies that I've been written or I've written and so it'll be a part of that and I'll present that at to that church and so I've been studying this letter and it is a remarkable letter. First John's usually overlooked uh in the New Testament for letters written by Paul like Romans or Galatians and it kind of gets you know overlooked for like James or first Corinthians but first John is a powerful powerful letter. Can I give you just a little introduction to this book? Because you can read this letter and take some things out of it and think, well, I might understand that or I don't understand that. But let me give you a little context uh for this letter so you can understand. We're going to talk about this morning about just do it. Now, this letter was written by first was written by John. Now, your Bible, my Bible does not say that it was written of John. So uh we get this information from history outside of the Bible. Those who uh who were connected to John late in his life attributed these letters to John. It's the same John that wrote the gospel according to John. It's also the same John uh who wrote Revelation. And so this John is uh John the beloved, the beloved disciple. And a lot of Bible commentators believe that John was the youngest of the 12 disciples. And by this time that he writes first John, he is uh the oldest of them. Perhaps the last living of the 12 disciples. Now we have to understand who he's writing to as well. He just didn't send this letter out to somebody randomly. Now he says who he's writing to in his second and third letter. But here we don't have a introduction to who he's who he's writing to. And again, so we have to go to history to figure this information out. Now after the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem AD70, a lot of Bible commentators believe that John migrated to Ephesus in this area. Ephesus was a major city and not only that, it was a major church by this time. Now you might remember uh the Ephesian church was started by uh the apostle Paul. Later on he would leave Timothy his son and the faith to oversee it. It became the largest body of believers in the world surpassing those in Jerusalem. Now in Acts chapter number 20 Paul says this before he leaves them. He warns them that there would be ravenous wolves, false teachers who would rise from within. The threat wasn't without. The threat was within. And that these false teachers would distort the truth and they would devour the flock. And so by the time John writes this first letter, Paul's warning had proven true. false teachers had arose within this church. And not only that, it was a multi-generational church by the time that John is there helping oversee these believers. There's second and third generation believers in the Ephesian church. But as he writes here, he writes to them in the midst of a struggle. He writes to them in the midst of conflict. There was a faction who had abandoned the truth alltogether proclaiming a distorted gospel and a counterfeit Jesus. For instance, some denied Jesus's full humanity while others denied uh his full deity while others twisted the implications of his redemptive work leading to confusion about sin, obedience, and eternal life. Now, if you're reading First John with this in mind, you start to realize and think that John doesn't hold back. There's no black and white for John. There's no I'm sorry, it's only black and white. There is no gray for John. He calls these who have left the church Antichrist. Now, let me also give you just a little information. That phrase is only found in First John. That's it. It's John who wrote that. Now, he's not writing about a beast that he'll mention in Revelation, but he's calling these people who have left the church, who have split the church and teaching a false doctrine, a false Christ. He calls them antichrist. That's what he's saying. And that phrase antichrist means against Christ or instead of Christ. And so he wants them to realize that there is conflict within the church, but there is something that they can do as believers. There is something that he wants to help them with. And over and over again in this letter, he says, "I have written. I write these things." And he says words like this, "We know, you know, and that we might know." So what is the the the theme? What is uh the purpose of his writing? If there's all this conflict within the church, people leaving, starting other churches, if there's all sorts of false doctrines and false lifestyles taking place, and not only that, they're in Ephesus, which is one of the most idolatrous cities in the world. They have the temple Diana, if you might remember from the book of Acts. So, there's all of this idolatry. There's this false doctrine. There's a split. What is John, this aged disciple, this aged apostle? What is he going to do? How is he going to help them? He's not going to speculate. He's not going to compromise, but he's going to pastor. And he's going to pastor to them. And he wants to help them. He wants to comfort the faithful, confront the deception, and give confidence in Christ. And he says this, he summarizes this uh chapter 5:E3. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And then again in verse 20, and we know that the Son of God has come and hath given us an understanding that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son Jesus Christ. Look at this. This is the true God and eternal life. So he confronts the false teaching throughout this letter, but he also wants to comfort those left within the church. And the word that comes to mind is assurance. Another word could be confidence. Do you know God does not want you to live with doubt and uncertainty? Some have made their doubts doctrines. >> Some have just be doubt. That's okay to have doubts. That is not from the word of God. >> Doubt is the opposite of faith and belief that you may know that you have eternal life. God wants you to be sure that you have eternal life. He doesn't want you to be unsure that you have eternal life or I hope I make it. That is not how the scriptures are put together. He did not save you to leave you without hope. And not just hope, but assurance. assurance in the face of uncertainty. And are we not living in a world full of uncertainty? >> I would dare say that uncertainty has crept into the church. And we've made it a uh we've made it a a fruit of the spirit. It's okay to not be sure. It's okay to have doubts. You just leave that up until the Lord. Just let go and let God. That is not in the Bible. God wants us to have assurance of our salvation. And our assurance of our salvation is rooted in the assurance that we know who he is. That's why John doesn't have a greeting at the beginning of his letter. He comes right out and says, "From the beginning, we know." I want you to I want you to understand that we know, we have touched, we have heard, we have seen, we have seen the word of life manifested unto us so you might know and not only know but have your joy complete in him. >> Now, where do you this is not in my notes, but where do you get joy from? You don't get joy from doubt. >> You don't have fullness or complete joy from uncertainty. You have complete joy when you have complete assurance and who Jesus is >> and not only in who he is. Well, I I I believe that he's God and I believe all that, but I also need to know without a doubt that he saved me. >> Now, some of us live in the past. I was saved 1983, whatever. We live in the past. I was saved. And then we live in the future. I I believe that I will be saved. But we live somewhere in the in between called doubt and uncertainty. >> As if God can't keep you saved. >> Y'all okay. >> I believe I was saved 1973 on a Sunday night at camp meeting. That's great. I believe one of these days I'm going to make heaven. But right now, no, no, no. Brothers and sisters, Jesus said this in John's gospel. He said, "No man can pluck you out of my hand." I want you to know, you have assurance that you were saved when you received the spirit, when you were baptized, you were saved, and have assurance that one of these days, we will stand before him in confidence. But I want you to know right now, today, that we can have assurance that we are saved, that we are his, that he's in control. If you believe that, won't you clap your hands under the Lord? [Applause] We might not face that kind of church split. Now, this is not just about people going and starting another church across town. They were preaching another Jesus. >> They were preaching another gospel. Now we might not experience that but you might have family members who forsake it. >> You might have loved ones who leave the truth. What do you do then? I tell you what if if any response if we can look for any response to the first church and see that they needed certainty and assurance too. How much more we in the modern church when we see loved ones and people that we love, maybe even preachers and churches who have left the truth, what do we do with that? We might be, well, am I am I really in the right way? >> Is this really the truth? Is this the right way? I want you to know and I want you to know that God wants you to know that this is the way, the truth, and the life. that you must have assurance in your heart that when others forsake it and others leave it and others reject it, >> you must have assurance. >> Come on. There might be some people who ridicule you, who ridicule your lifestyle, people on the job, maybe people you know, neighbors, but I want you to know the same holds true for them as it does for us today. God wants us to be sure of who he is, what he's done, how we live for him, and that he will return and we will stand confident before him. >> Someone say, "Amen." >> But this is what John says. And we we use this verse sometimes a little out of context, but now that you see the context, I want you to understand the gravity of what John says. Greater is he that is in you than in he than he that is in the world. That is confidence to know that what I have in me is greater than what I'm going through outside in the world. >> It might look like the world is winning. It might look like the devil is winning. He might have the upper hand. But I want you to know, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. >> Come on. The devil is not winning. >> That was a wonderful response for some unsure people. >> I want you to know the world is not winning. They might pass laws. They might put us in prison. They might reject us. But I want you to know greater is he. They might leave us. They might reject us. They might ridicule us. But I want you to know that God is still the true eternal God. And he's in you. And greater is he that's in you. >> We don't have to worry. We don't have to fear. Now, if you've read the letter of first John, you know that he is constantly saying love. >> There's key words throughout his gospel and his letter and even in Revelation, words that he uses over and over again such as love. Love of God, how God loves us and then we loving each other. It is the fruit of God's love in us that we love each other. >> But there is a love that God hates. There is a love that God hates. 1 John chapter number two verses 15-1 17. Love not the world neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him. Do you want assurance of your salvation? How do you view the world? >> Uhoh. >> I want that certainty that I that I am in Christ. Well, how do you do you love the world or do you hate the world? If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him. Uh what do you mean by that? Well, John explains. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the father, but is of the world. >> Now the next verse. And the world is passing away, and the lust thereof. But he that doeth the will of God, what's the opposite of passing away? Abides forever. So if you love the world, it's not going to love you back eternally because it's passing away. >> The lust of the eye, >> the pride of life, these things are passing away. They for a time look like they are pleasurable, but they are not. And so he is saying if you're going to claim to be a believer, you can't love the world. For John, there's no this is no black and white. This is black and white. There's no gray area here. Either you love God and hate the world or you love the world and hate God. >> Whoa. You know what's amazing about John is that he does not believe that tolerance is the same thing as love. We live in a world that says tolerance is the fruit of love. Not John. John is saying either you are in or you are out. That's not that sounds intolerant. >> It might sound intolerant, but it is biblical. >> You're telling me, John, that I can't love the world. Now, we have to understand how John uses the the word world. He uses the word world all throughout his gospel, in his letters, and even in Revelation. And the word, the Greek word that he uses is cosmos, right? For God so loved the world, John 3:16, that he gave his only begotten son. He uses the same word there. He also uses it as the good creation that God created. He also sees the world as humanity, that God loved the world, that he gave his life for them. He he uses the same word as those who oppose Christ and are filled toward with filled with hatred toward his followers. And so he uses this word world cosmos and he says you can't love the world and say you love God. And so this word cosmos how he is using it within this context it is referring to the evil world system the invisible structure of values priorities and ideologies organized in rebellion against God and ruled by Satan. This is a system that is anti-God, antichrist, anti-f family, anti-purity. And he says, "If you love that, you don't love God." This is the love that God hates. And he says, "You can overcome this world, but you cannot overcome something that you love." Brother, I'm trying to overcome this. I'm trying to get victory over that. Well, do you hate it >> or do you keep going back to it? >> Okay, you're not going to help me preach today. All right. >> I I want to I want to overcome. Well, you can't overcome the world and the things of the world if you still love those things. And if you're trying to justify your tolerance of those things, you can't overcome and have victory over the that over the devil if you keep inviting him into your home. >> Someone say amen. >> The Greek word cosmos literally means order, arrangement, and ornament. Now listen to me. This is amazing. When I when I was studying this a few weeks ago, the Greek word cosmos comes from the root for the same English word cosmetics. You didn't hear me. Somebody over here got it. Cosmos is uses the same root word for our cosmetics. Now what are the purpose of cosmetics? To dress up, cover, beautify. Y'all okay, brother? It's Labor Day. Come on, somebody. Have a picnic tonight. The world system is dressed up to look attractive >> and desirable >> but its beauty is only skin deep. >> Cosmetics conceal cosmetics conceal the flaws and the corruption. Are you hearing me? I'm not Let's talk about makeup. I'm tell That's not what I'm talking about. I'm telling you, the world is trying to dress itself up as something that it's not. But I want you to realize if we would ever wipe away the cosmetics of the world and see it for the evil and the darkness that it is, we wouldn't love it if we realize that the [Applause] Come on. They can make drinking look cool. They can make smoking look cool. They can make adultery look cool. They can make homosexuality look cool. But I'm telling you, if you wipe away the cosmetics, if you take away the makeup, it's going to cause you more harm. [Music] >> Oh yes. It's the lust of the flesh. The lust. It's appealing to this old man. That's right. >> It's appealing. It's as old as Eden itself. >> Eve stood before that tree of the knowledge of good and evil. She saw that the fruit was good for food, lust of the flesh, a delight to the eyes, lust of the eyes, and desired to make one wise, the pride of life. What seemed beautiful and fulfilling proved to be deadly. And I want you to know the same disguises continue today luring humanity to love the world rather than loving God. But I want you to know you cannot overcome the world if you are in love with the world. >> If we want victory in our life, if we want joy in our life, this is the love we must reject >> because the world is passing away along with its desires. And whoever does the will of God, he says in verse number 17 of chapter number two, whoever does the will of God abides forever. What's the will of God? This is what people will come to us say, I want to know what God's will is. You know what God's will is right here? Oh, no, brother. No, no, no. That's not I'm talking about. No, you're talking about the pride of life. I want to do something that pleases me. That's fine. That's great. But is it in the book? You know what the will of God is for your life? To love him, to serve him, obey him, love others. >> If it if if anything takes you away from those things, it's not the will of God for your life. >> If it causes if something causes you to not love God or takes you out of fellowship with his people, it's not the will of God for you. If something causes you to disobey God's word, it's not the will of God for you. >> Come on, picnic. >> Y'all all right. >> Now, let's move on just a little bit. I'm going fast towards the end here. I know I've just been doing some teaching, but I want to help you. Now, let's look at this chapter 5:es 4-5. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcomemeth the world, even our faith. He's saying, this is how you overcome. It's through faith. Who is he that overcometh the world? But he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God. So what where do we put our faith? What is the object of our faith? You see, we don't have faith in faith, right? I'm afraid Pentecostals, we put our faith in faith. you just don't have enough faith. That faith in what? Jesus didn't say anything about having enough faith. He said, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, but see, I'm not putting my faith in the size of my faith. I'm putting my faith in the object of my faith." And my the object of my faith is Jesus Christ. And if I know Jesus is God manifest in the flesh and I know Jesus gave his life at Calvary so I could be justified from my sins. And if Jesus rose from the dead to conquer death and hell, then I have my faith in him that he can save, that he can heal. I have confidence that I can pray and anything that I ask of him can be answered if I do the will of God. >> That's the I'm He's the object. He not only is he the object of your faith, he's the source of our faith. >> You don't have to conjure up emotion. You just got to, you know, get up here and exercise and no, got to believe. Put your faith in him, not in yourself. This is why it just bothers me just a little bit. Can I pastor for a second? We have prayer on Sunday nights and we have, you know, if I'm up here, this is why I don't come up here anymore because my line would be out the dagum doors and all our other ministers who have the same Holy Ghost as I do. >> Are standing here going, "What's happening, guys? Can I just tell you this? You have the same anointing and the same Holy Ghost as I do. All you've got to do is lay your hands. It's not me. It's not me. It's the Holy Ghost. Oh, I've hurt your feelings. These signs shall follow them that what? Preach, sing, have titles. No. These signs shall follow them that believe. They shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover. All you've got to do is believe. Lay your hands on somebody. Pray the prayer of faith. It's not me. I can't heal. I've never healed anybody in my entire life. I have never given anybody the Holy Ghost. >> It's not faith in me. It's not faith in any minister or preacher. And don't be going around the country. I'm fa I'm I'm ch >> chasing so and so and praying that they give me a word. My God, God gave you 66 books of word. >> I ain't got to chase some old man. Hope they come pray for me. How about you open up this book >> and realize that your heavenly father is in heaven praying for you right now. >> Come on, picnic dick. Let's go. Hurting their feelings. Hurting their feelings. I'm just disrupting everything today. >> Just do it. I'm doing it. Overcometh the world. Now, why did I title it this way? You'll see. When Phil Knight and Bill Bowererman start a small shoe company in 1964, they had no idea they would create one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Their company started out as Blue Ribbon Sports and they originally sold to Tiger Shoes from Japan. But by the early 1970s, they were ready to launch their own line. But the problem was they needed a name. Phil Knight favored the clunky title Dimension 6, which most people hated. Then one night, employee Jeff Johnson had a dream. A single word came to him, Nike. Inspired by the Greek goddess of victory, the name stuck. Not only was it short and memorable, but it also spoke directly to what athletes craved most, victory. Around the same time, Carolyn Davidson designed the iconic swoosh, Nike's wing, the symbol of triumph in motion. Few years ago, Ashley and myself went to Paris and we went to the Louv and you come up these stairs and there at the top of the stairs, you will be met by Nike. Now, it's not the silhouette of Michael Jordan, the jump man. It's not the swoosh, but it is the Greek goddess Nike. Carved in the 2 century BC, this statue depicts the goddess in flowing robes, wings spread wide, landing on a uh landing on the top of a ship. She personified victory. For the Greeks, Nike wasn't just about winning a race or a battle. It was about the glory and the triumph that followed the struggle. While other Greek gods embodied the chaos of war, Nike represented the outcome, glory. She was pictured with wings carrying a wreath or a palm branch, symbolizing their conquest. The Romans called her Victoria, and her image filled their temples, coins, and triumphal arches. But why does that need to be a part of this sermon today? I'm glad you asked. Because when John says, "Everyone who has been born of God overcomes," the word in the Greek is niko, which is the same word used for Nike. 28 times the word nayo is used in the New Testament. And John uses it more than any other writer because he wants believers to know you can overcome. Victory doesn't come without struggle, but victory is imminent. Nike, they began to use the phrase just do it to it has be is absolutely enunated the world in cultures. If you just say Nike, somebody will say just do it. And so when John is using the same word nio, those Ephesian believers know what he's referring to. He is referring to victory. And you don't get victory from uncertainty. You get victory through assurance. But I want you to understand something today. We are not fighting on our own. We are not fighting under our own strength and our own abilities. Paul says this, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness. We wrestle, listen brothers and sisters, we certainly wrestle with our own sinful desires. But we are really wrestling against a world system opposed to God. That's who we are doing battle with. But again, we don't have to get swords. We don't have to get armor. We don't have to get weapons. For our victory is in Jesus Christ who gives us the nayo, the victory through what he has accomplished. >> Come on, musicians. We are in the front lines of a battle every day. And he's and and this is what what what but what what John wants wants us to understand where we are in relation to that victory. Everyone, he says this in verse four of chapter 5, everyone born of God overcomes the world. So the prerequisite to overcoming the world is being born again. >> You can't overcome the world if you're in the world. You're going to have to come out from among them and be and the only way that you can do that is by being born again of the water and of the spirit. And John knew that very well. He knows what born again means. He used it in his first book go in the gospel that Jesus said you must be born again of the water and of the spirit. So regeneration produces resilience. When you got the Holy Ghost, you got power. When you when you were buried with Christ in baptism and baptized in the name of Jesus, you received power beyond your ability. >> You are raised to new life in Christ. Not Listen, there's like pastor says, it's just Kub water in there. There's no special water in there. What happens is obedience. Obedience, we are submitting our will to his will and then we when we are submit our will to his will and we are baptized with him and then we are baptized in him with a spirit, we receive a power that's greater than any force in this world. That's why you can't walk around acting like you're you're broke and you've lost and you're sad and you're down and out. You better get back to this altar and get refilled with the Holy Ghost because you need to walk around realizing I'm a child of God. I've been born again of the water of the spirit. I am his son. I am his daughter and I've got victory through him. Stand to your feet. I'm sorry. I hurt your feelings a while ago. And brother Nate, I it's hard to hate the world. I understand. We are all fighting it every day. But you can't overcome the world unless you hate the world. >> So what does just do it mean for us? It means we step into battle every day not with self-confidence but with Christ confidence. We lace up, so to speak, not because we are strong enough, but because he's already secured the win. The odds are stacked against our enemy. The battle's already over. We know what happens. We win. He's already defeated. And the same spirit that raised Jesus is the same spirit that we have. And the same spirit that one of these days he is going to snatch us away from this world. >> So I don't have to worry if it looks like the world's winning. >> They're not. I don't have to worry when the world's governments and the world's systems looks like they've gained an upper hand. They haven't. I don't have to worry when people forsake this way and leave this way and compromise and God's still God. >> Truth is still truth. >> And I'm going to persevere. I'm going to have confidence not in myself. Now, this is not reason to boast. We're not boasting of that's not the that's not the point. We're not boasting at those who leave and come. That's not it. But we're going to know what we know. We need assurance. If you ever see the statue of Nike in the Lou, it's kind of amazing to see. You're walking up these stairs and you see this statue. It's a little overwhelming and you realize what it is, what it means. It stands as a monument to human conquest. But the cross of Jesus stands as a reminder of the greatest conquest that Jesus has defeated sin. He has defeated death. He has defeated our adversary. And if I can just look towards the cross, >> I'll win. Would you lift up your hands right now? [Music] Maybe you've you you've you've felt a little a strike against your confidence in who you are in Christ. Or maybe somebody left. Maybe somebody's rejected it. Maybe somebody says, "It's not it's not for me. I'm going to do something else." And you feel like, "Is this is this the right thing? Is this the right way?" And I want you to know that Christ wants to give us assurance today. Come on. Our faith, our salvation isn't based upon what other people might believe or not believe, but I believe in what he done for me. Maybe you need some assurance today. I'm going to overcome. I'm going to overcome the world. I'm going to overcome my adversary. Come on. Would you come? I wonder if somebody would say, you know what? I need to overcome. I need to I need to stop loving the world. Maybe there's some things that I love that I know that if I would just get rid of this stuff, I could overcome it. And if I can get my fidelity towards Christ, my love for him pure. Come on. What did John say to the Ephesian church in in Revelation? You've left your first love. Come on. Sometimes we got to return to our first love, and that's Jesus. Maybe we need to get back to our first love. It's easy to fall in love with this world, this present world. But I want to fall in love with Jesus because that's going to give me my victory. That's going to help me overcome the world. He's already purchased my victory. He's already overcome the world. He's already come the devil. And all I have to do is walk in that victory. All I have to do is walk in the spirit. >> Come on, come on. I want to see a victory. I'm going to see a victory. Oh yeah. Belongs to you, Lord. I'm going to see I'm going to see a victory. I'm going to see a victory. For the battle belongs to you, Lord. I'm going to see a victory. We have mercy of victory for the battle belongs to you. You take the enemy to evil and then you turn it for good. You turn it for good. [Music] You take what the enemy for evil and you turn it for good. You turn it for good. >> Would you pray with somebody? Would you lay your hand on somebody else? Lay your hands on somebody. You turn it for good. You turn it for good. Oh, you turn it for good. You turn it for good. I'm going to see a victory. I'm going to see a victory. For the battle belongs to you, Lord. I'm going to see a victory. I'm going to see a victory. For the battle belongs to you, Lord. I'm going to see. >> I'm going to see a victory. I'm going to see your victory. >> For the battle for the battle belongs to you, Lord. >> I'm going to see your victory. I'm going to see the victory. For the battle belongs to you. >> Lift up your hands. >> Come on. I want you to lift up your hands. Close your eyes for a second. I feel in my spirit that there is a there is a deception under the under the guise of doubt and uncertainty that is sweeping across our movement that you don't have to have assurance. You don't have to have assurance. It's better just to be just leave some things to doubt and leave some things to uncertainty. That is not biblical. But I want you to lift up your hands right now and say, "Lord, give me assurance." Lord, I'm He John said, "I'm writing these things that you might know. You want us to know. You want us to have certainty of our salvation." And that certainty, that assurance comes from knowing who you are and what you've done for us. And if you'll give your life for us, if you'll shed your blood for us, if you'll be raised to from the dead for us, what else can you do? You can keep me. You can shape me. You can help me. You can provide for me. And I can have assurance. I can have joy in what you've done. Would you clap your hands under Jesus today? Oh yes. Oh yes.
