Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The man who broke the refrain
- Genesis chapter five moves from father to son with one refrain: he lived, he begat sons and daughters, and he died.
- Enoch stands out of the line: after Methuselah was born he walked with God three hundred years, and he was not, for God took him.
- The preacher tells how holding his daughter Easton in the hospital changed his own perspective, the way a first child changes a parent's walk.
Scriptures: Genesis 5:18-24
Agreeing with God, pleasing God
- Can two walk together except they be agreed: to walk with God is to agree with him about light and darkness, good and evil.
- By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death, and before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Scriptures: Amos 3:3; Hebrews 11:5
Faith that walks in the Spirit
- Without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
- Paul gives the practice of it: walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh; if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Scriptures: Hebrews 11:6; Galatians 5:16; Galatians 5:25
Walked at home, caught up at the end
- Conferences end and the shouting fades; the sermon asks whether we can walk with him on Monday, in the ordinary duties of prayer, obedience, and witness.
- Enoch's walk was watched by Methuselah, and through him by Noah; our children learn the walk of faith from the example lived in front of them.
- Those who walk with him share his hope: the dead in Christ will rise first, and the living will be caught up together with them to meet him.

about him for a moment as you're turning to Genesis 5 allow me to give honor to all of our ministry all of our leadership today and I want to Echo those who went before and say what a tremendous time we had at National youth convention uh this week and we hope that you enjoyed your time with your family this past week as well celebrating Thanksgiving and here we are the first uh first day of a new of of the year and it's ring in the new year with Revival beginning here today amen do you believe that I believe that I'm I I'm ready for it Genesis chapter number five we're going to begin reading at verse number 18 read a few verses here in chapter number five and Jared lived 16 and2 years and he begat Enoch someone say Enoch and Jared lived after he begat Enoch 800 years and begat Sons and daughters all the days of Jared were 962 years and he died someone say he died and Enoch lived 60 and5 years and begat Methuselah and Enoch look at verse number 22 and Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah 300 years begat sons and daughters and all the days of Enoch were 365 years look at verse 24 again a repeat of what he said earlier and Enoch walked with God and he was not for God took him this morning I would like to minister to you from this Thought Walk This Way Walk This Way would you put your Bibles and your devices down and would you lift up your hands and your heart and would you ask the Lord to speak to you today Father we're so thankful for every good and perfect gift that comes from you you we're thankful for your presence that we feel here today we're thankful for the saints of God gathered here on this first Sunday of a new month Lord but we're here God to partake of the word of God and I pray that you would Inspire us refresh us encourage us today to walk with you in jesus' name we pray and everyone said amen W you clap your hands one more time onto the Lord amen you can be seated walk this way it's probably been about 18 19 months ago I decided I got tired of uh my clothes not fitting and uh decided I was going to do something about it and I've shared some of that past year or so that I thought well uh I like going outside sometimes and I like walking and so I decided I'm just going to start walking and so I've been walking in uh for about 18 19 months about every day I'll try to walk and pray and I I really really enjoy walking and so I began to think about that and thinking in you know just this text of Genesis 5 this week because if you've been to National youth convention at the Opry Land Hotel uh we have church but we have church uh at night and day but the majority of your time if you're not in church you're walking uh the hotel is huge and you have you can get all 10,000 steps going from your hotel room into the convention center in just one trip uh it is a very large place you do a lot of walking and I got to thinking about this text I I I began to uh do some research on the benefits of walking now you know there's benefits to walking for your physical health and I those are obvious if you if you don't know that but I began to do a little more research I have a book that uh I had read a long time ago about the benefits of walking and Beyond just the uh the physical benefits of walking I want to give you some maybe not so no uh known benefits of walking number one walking reduces stress walking reduces stress did you know that if you are stressed out perhaps you shouldn't get on Facebook maybe you should go take a walk uh number two benefits of walking enhanced mood I think we all could have a little enhancement in our moods right walking triggers the relief of endorphins it's the body's natural Feelgood chemicals and so regular Walkers report higher levels of overall happiness and satisfaction so again if you need an enhancement in your mood maybe you don't need um another chemical maybe you just need to go outside for a walk enhance your mood number three benefits of walking cognitive function in memory are you forgetting things are you seeming to not remember where you put your keys or your your wallet or your phone that's in your hands uh walking will help improve your memory and your cognitive function a 2022 stud showed that walking 10,000 steps a day May reduce the risk of Dementia by 50% 50% if you just go for a walk that's a good benefit how about this one Sleep Quality the Bible wants us and tells us to rest We're Not Angels we're not Christ and we need rest if you want quality sleep perhaps go take a walk if you walk 10,000 steps I guarant gue you probably want to take a nap afterwards it's a good time to do that most of you will do that after this sermon today if not in the middle of this sermon it's all right uh how about this one there's there's a lot I'm not going to give them all but there's this is enough to help you go take a walk today benefits of walking emotional resilience walking provides time for mindfulness and reflection which helps develop emotional resilience and the ability to process negative emotions how about this one is very important in our day today benefit of walking Anxiety Relief short brisk walks are particularly effective in reducing anxiety symptoms by providing a distraction and stimulating the nervous system in a positive way here's another one self-esteem and confidence consistent walking routines can enhance self-esteem by fostering a sense of accomplishment and promoting physical and mental health I like this one too combating burnout walking breaks during work improve mental Clarity reduces fatigue and combats feeling of burnout par particularly in high stress jobs I'm talking about walking today and the Bible uses the theme and and references the theme of walking throughout its pages we've read just a moment ago about how Enoch walked with God which we will expound upon the Bible says that Noah walked with God the Bible says that Abraham walked with God the children of Israel walked around Jericho until God miraculously pulled the walls down in the New Testament alone the word walk is used 175 times I think God wants us to walk let me give you 10 New Testament walks according to the scripture we should walk in the steps of the faith walk in newness of Life Walk not according to the flesh but according to the spirit Walk In Love walk in light not in darkness walk worthy of the Lord walk by faith and not by sight walk as Jesus walked walk according to God's commands and walk in truth we must learn how to walk when you have a child when you have uh a newborn and you they become a toddler what's the thing that you want them to do the most as soon as they can hold their head up on their own you put them down and you're like just crawl I just hope you can crawl and you put a toy or something out there come crawl to me and then after that what do you want them to do you want them to graduate from crawling because that would be kind of weird to you know be I don't know 25 years old and crawling everywhere uh we want them to walk right because that's what gives them Liberty and freedom so we stand them up and hope that they can balance themselves and we hold something out and we want them to walk and then when they take their first step we celebrate but I want you to know that God wants us to walk with him God is concerned with our walk he is concerned with the steps that we take he is concerned which direction we are going and God wants us to to to graduate and to mature from crawling to walking the life of Enoch stands in stark contrast to the day and hour that he lived in this is the chapter that precedes the uh the text that were introduced to Noah and that God is going to bring judgment in the Earth the Bible says that uh Noah was a preacher of righteousness but before Noah preached about righteousness Jude says that Enoch prophesied of the coming Judgment of God Enoch was a son of Seth and I don't want you to get him confused with the son of Cain because even though they have the same name they are two different men this Enoch was the seventh from Adam from The Line The Godly line of Seth Enoch lived before the climax of The Flood that destroyed the earth now listen to this this is important because I find this fascinating when Enoch was born Adam the first man was 622 years old when Enoch was born Godly Seth was 492 years old Enoch's father Jared was 162 years old now get this Enoch lived alongside Adam for 308 years Adam lived for 38 years alongside Adam Adam was the first man made in the image of God but he was also the man that brought Disobedience and sin into the world so Enoch had the example of how to live from his great great great grandfather Seth but he also had the example of how not to live like Adam there's always going to be good examples and bad examples that we can learn from there are always going to be people who you say I want to model my life after them as well as those you'll say hey I would like to avoid that path by all means necessary and Adam he here he was the ruin of the world the darkness and the evil and the corruption that had increased in the world all of it began with Adam and Enoch seized the man to blame for it he lives 300 years alongside him he sees the man who caused all of this damage and you would think that that would have some sort of influence on Enoch's life well you would be correct I want you to understand something today that you must model Your Life After People Who please God and you must not follow the example of those who do wickedness and rebellion and who disobey God there are always going going to be those examples around you and you must decide who will I follow after who will I model my life after someone say Amen here is the world getting darker and darker and darker if you're going to walk with God you must agree with him if you're going to walk with God you must agree with him Amos 3 and3 says can two walk together except they be agreed if you're going to walk with God you must agree with him on everything everything that God calls Darkness we must agree that's Darkness everything that God says is evil we must agree that is evil if we're going to say this is the wrong way this is how what displeases God we must be in agreement with him not the world around us we can't allow the world to influence our opinions if we're going to walk with God that means you cannot walk with the world you cannot walk with the world the world that says this is light when it's really darkness and you can't walk with the world that says this is darkness when God actually calls it light if you're going to walk and please God you must be in agreement with him woe unto those that call evil good and good evil that put Darkness for light and light for darkness that put bitter for sweet and Sweet for bitter if you're going to walk with God you must agree with him and it's not just on what he believes is evil in darkness we also must believe what is good what he believes is good where he shows Mercy guess what we got to show Mercy where God shows Grace we got to show Grace too if you're going to be in agreement with God you must agree with him on everything we must see with eyes of Mercy where God shows Mercy where God shows Grace we must also show Grace someone say amen I want to walk with him today I want to walk with him today does anybody want to walk with him today does anybody want to be pleasing to him today just because Enoch came from The Godly line of Seth did not in fact make him Godly for 65 years he did not walk with God his first 65 years he did not walk with God why because you do not inherit Holiness and you do not inherit godliness you do not inherit righteousness you must have your own experience for yourself God does you've heard me say this before and you will hear me say this again a million times before I leave this earth God doesn't have grandchildren he is not our grandfather who is in heaven he is our father why because he has Sons and Daughters he does not have grandchildren if you are going to have him as your father you must be born again of the water and of the spirit just because this is your grandma's Church doesn't mean it's necessarily your church well I go to the First Apostolic church or praise God I'm so happy for you but have you are you in Christ because you see you can call yourself a Christian but just because you show up on Sunday does not mean you're a Christian you've got to be in Christ for you for you to be called a son or a daughter of come on somebody just because your mother walked in faith doesn't mean that you've inherited her faith you're going to have to have a change for yourself 65 years 65 years he walked in the opposite direction something changed in Enoch's life life the Bible said and Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah after he begat Methuselah he began to walk with God you know when you have children a change will take place in your life if you once you become a parent now I I I always found it interesting to hear how people would tell me how I should parent when they don't have kids if I were if you were what if I was a parent you need to find you a wife first because when you become a parent things change it should at least I know when I when I had that when I held that little girl in my arms for the first time I'm telling you a fear set over me like I have never felt before in my entire life Ashley and I we we'd look at we'd look at Easton in the hospital there and we'd hold her and we were like we were just like hey nurse can you just please stay in the room just a little bit longer and then they're like oh you'll be fine just don't shake her that's great advice just don't shake it okay what do I do when she cries just don't shake it right that's the only advice they give you when they hand you that child is don't shake it that's good good advice but then they hand it to you they're like goodbye like what do I do this thing I don't I don't have to shake it but what I what do I do with it and we I mean we were like can we stay here one more night just one more night like you got to go home like well can she stay here one more night just don't shake it right because when you have a child of all of a sudden your perspective changes you're more aware of your surrounding I I don't drive 75 all the you know I slow slow down a little bit do you got your seat belt on you know do you have do you have the car seat you know in the right way and you have you start thinking about all of these things you never thought before and I'll will tell you something that happened to me when I became a parent I don't know when it took place it must be the moment that we took her home all of a sudden I was not a crier before but now when I see daddy daughter commercials I'm like like what in the world has happened to me why I mean it's not for for for for for for moms and and wives it's Hallmark movies for me it's just commercials I mean all of a sudden I'm just like oh it's amazing that battery commercial he bought her the doll I don't know what happened to me but when you have a child something changes in you I don't know what happened to Enoch when he had Methuselah everything changed and all of a sudden his walk changed maybe he realized he seen the darkness and the corruption of the world and he realized I'm bringing a another life into this world and they're relying upon me to help them go through and navigate this Darkness I better get my act together and can I tell you there's another birth there's another experience that you can have today that it will change your life it will change your perspective and that's being born again of the water and of the spirit when you place your faith in Jesus and you turn from your sins and you're buried with him and bapt AP ISM and you receive the Holy Ghost all of a sudden you're like I got to change my walk I got to change my talk I got to change the way I live I've got to mature I got to grow up a little bit I'm telling you if you haven't had that experience it's for you today you can have a change in your life today come on somebody you got to get baptized in Jesus name you can receive the Holy Ghost it'll change your life it'll turn you around it'll change your perspec perspective and realize I've got a responsibility I've got a responsibility not just to have my life change but I want to see others lives change someone clap their hand onto the Lord if you believe that amen Hebrews 11 and5 will you pull that up there by faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death and he was not found because God had translated him for before his translation he had this testimony that he pleased God can you pull that up there please Hebrews 11:5 if you can he had this testimony that he pleased God in just four verses in Genesis 5 we are told I'm I'm sorry twice in four verses in Genesis 5 we are told that Enoch walked with God here is his epit here is the summary of his life he walked with God that's it less than 50 words summarizes Enoch's life that he walked with God what does it mean to walk with God it means to please him the writer of Hebrews says that here's his testimony he pleased God so many would rather have something else said about their life than something as simple as this everyone wants to be a celebrity everyone wants to see their Name In Lights everyone wants an earth shattering testimony and Ministry everybody wants a Supernatural Ministry everybody wants the spotlight everybody wants the position and the title everybody wants to be known by somebody but here is Enoch's testimony he walked and pleased God that's it that's the testimony that's the story that's the Tweet that's the message that's it he walked and pleased God he didn't need a spotlight he didn't need a title he didn't need a conference he didn't need all of that all he wanted to do is walk with God and please him didn't have a million followers on social media come on somebody he didn't have his name in lights all Enoch wanted to do was walk with God because I had Methuselah and methusa doesn't need me to have the spotlight and the name and the Celebrity Status what my child needs is for me to be faithful what my child needs from me is to show him out of worship what my child needs from me is to show him what faithfulness looks like what my children need for me is what to show them what pleases God come on walking is the ordinary process of placing One Foot In Front of the other in a spiritual sense Walking with God is doing the ordinary stuff you've heard me preach about that before praying consistently obeying the word of God loving your neighbor giving living holy God isn't in the flashy and the extraordinary it's the ordinary day today discipleship and faithfulness that he's looking for all the other stuff is is just the icing on the cake but can you walk with him now we got back from conference this week and I like NYC I like conferences I enjoy all of that and I seen I've seen people I mean Thursday night I mean one of the most dynamic sermons you'll ever hear and we seen the whole room literally the whole room was running around that Sanctuary it was amazing I seen Bishop get out and run the aisles with everybody else it was powerful man the Holy Ghost moved and people jump jump back into the Altar and all of a sudden this holy hush hit that room you had to be there to experience it and all of a sudden the Holy Ghost moved in that room Thursday night like I had not experienced in a long time it was powerful but I watched all of these people run and I thought oh wow that's amazing get your camera out show everybody running that's amazing but conference is over and the conference preacher isn't at your church and the conference band isn't at your church and Monday comes and it's no longer Thanksgiving week vacation everybody likes to run and Shout I'm for that but can you walk you see too many of us shout at a conference but we can't walk Monday through Saturday come on somebody help me preach a little while I'm for the running but what do you do when you don't feel like running you walk oh God have mercy what do you do when you don't feel like shouting I tell you what you do you walk what do you do when you don't have all the lights and all that around you at your job I tell you what you do you pray you live faithful you be a witness I'm telling you you can please God with your walk just as much as you please him with your [Applause] shout can I just say this conferences aren't real life I love conferences but let me tell you something 2020 I know 2020 was terrible but if anything showed us anything in 2020 was this is that we can live without conferences right because what happens is too many of us rely upon a shout and a run and we don't know how to walk but if you're going to learn how to run you got to learn how to walk first my God have mercy but too many of us that put the run in front of the walk I'm telling you if you're going to please God show up tomorrow morning and pray when no one's around if you want to please God pray with your family tomorrow Tuesday Tuesday Wednesday open up your Bible and say Lord speak to me today just as you did Thursday night oh you ain't going to help me Preach Today are you come on somebody you were helping them preach last week a conference can you help me Preach Today come on somebody I'm talking about walking with God every day I know it's not the spotlight I know it's not the chills and the Goosebumps and I'm telling you you can please God with your faithfulness woo I want the flashy I want the extraordinary doesn't come until you learn how to walk with him everybody wants to flash in the extraordinary but I'm telling you something it's going to be found in walking with him you know what I like doing here on Sunday afternoons sometimes on Wednesday nights sometimes during the day I'll I'll I'll be in my office or I'll be in the office complex and I'll hear somebody walk in the Halls back here what in the world I'll step out there Here Comes sister Pat she's walking Brother D I'm getting my steps in getting my steps in I'm like a sister Pat do it to it let's go but you know what she doesn't just walk around here at church she's been walking with Jesus for long time she's been walk come on somebody she's come on just because she lost a spouse doesn't mean she's going to stop walking come on just because she's had some bad days doesn't mean she's going to stop walking you know what we need to do we need we need some examples like this she'll say I'll show you what faithfulness is I love the conference I love the camp meetings but I'm going to keep walking with him in days where I don't feel like walking with him I'm going to keep serving him I'm going to keep pleasing him why because he's been faithful to me I've witnessed your faithfulness but can we witness your [Applause] faithfulness Hallelujah I stepped out of the elevator on I think it was Tuesday afternoon we were we were step ashle and I were stepping out going to go walk to the mall and here comes sister Pat at conference youth conference she's not waiting she's going to keep walking come on somebody you know we we some people go I walk and I'll walk in Nashville I'll walk in Knoxville I'll walk in darkness I'll walk in the good day whatever it is wherever it is I'm just going to keep on Walking With Jesus why because that's what's pleasing unto him I'm sorry I'm not preaching better but I'm telling you God wants our faithfulness more than he wants our exuberance I love all that stuff but I'm afraid we have taken the acception we've we've taken the exceptions and think that's the rule every day is not conference every day is not camp meeting you got to walk with him every day got to walk they're turn the lights off me like get this guy off the platform we need a nap right now that's enough of that I'll show you you don't need a spotlight I'll turn the spotlights off you can take the spotlights out of here you can take the lights out of here you can take the screens out of here can we still have church with all of that stuff can we still worship him with all that stuff come on I love it but that's not what I'm here here for I'm here because he's been faithful to me I want to please him I want to serve him I wish somebody would do it right now I wish somebody say Lord I want to walk with you I want to know you take this whole world but give me Jesus I'm moving fast I'm moving fast go to Hebrews chapter number 11 Hebrews chapter number 11 11 chap verse number six but without faith we quote this all the time but without faith it is impossible to please him for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him we quote that when we're trying to Define faith and describe Faith it's impossible to please God but you know what the verse that comes before that is by faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death and was not found because God trans ated him he had this testimony that he pleased God here in Hebrews chapter number 11 in the heroes of the faith we have those who took on Giants who killed lions we have those who fought great battles we have those who've done great exploits for God but yet the Holy Ghost included a man who did none of those things and all that he can say is this he walks and and pleased God come on somebody it's not an all the hilarity and all the light in the show can you just simply walk with him I'll tell you I'll if I just preach a conference if you could just walk the Holy Ghost takes note of those who simply walk with him you don't need a conference you don't need a camp you don't need a title you don't need a position all you have to do is walk with him M say just get ready to go how how how do I walk with him Paul tells us how we can walk with him Galatians 5:116 walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh he says again in verse 25 if we live in the spirit let us also walk in the spirit but you can't live in the spirit or walk in the spirit without the spirit if you want to walk in the spirit you need to be filled with the spirit filled baptized immersed overflowing with the spirit we have an advantage that Enoch did not have is that we've got the Holy Ghost I heard J Osborne referen Enoch years ago at a let's talk meeting he said if Enoch proves anything it's this that he didn't have a Bible he didn't have a church he didn't have a preacher he didn't really come from a family that lived for God and yet Enoch had this testimony that you can walk with God and that have all of the other stuff we needed we've got it today there's no excuse but what he's saying is this some of us put so many crutches out if I have this and if I have that I can walk with God if I can get this together if I can get married if I can get my job if I can have my career once I graduate once I'm older once I have this what you need is to put one foot in front of the other and walk with him stand to your feet today Genesis 4 gives us the record of Cain and his family and his descendants then it gives us in Genesis 5 the descendants of Seth Cain slew Abel God banished him and put a curse upon Him Seth was the third son given to Adam and Eve and fr from the the sons of Seth men began to call upon the name of the Lord again to give us a record of can's Offspring in Genesis 4 the Holy Spirit takes us to the marketplace he gives us a glimpse of great cities filled with art science thinkers and Industry cities bursting with activity excitement everyday business life is what's pictured from the record of Cain's descendants but then you read chapter number five of Genesis and the Holy Spirit doesn't take us to the marketplace it takes us to the morg all throughout Genesis chapter number five we hear the voice of the death angel say and he died and he died and he died and he died that's not saying that in Genesis chapter number four because we think of Genesis chapter number four that's what living is living is being in the marketplace doing great exploits but let me tell you that's not true truly living Genesis chapter number five it's as if God is saying I've kept my word and my promises that the day that you eat of the fruit you will surely die that here in Genesis 5 God proves that man is mortal and he died and he died and he died but there is one in Genesis chapter number five one day during his 360 years Enoch suddenly disappeared everybody else died but Enoch one day walked and was not there were those of The Godly line of Seth and they died but there was one who was walking and pleasing the Lord and one day he was gone there are going to be two people two kinds of people when the Lord comes again there are going to be those who are dead in Christ and it says the dead in Christ shall rise first so The Godly lme who put their faith in God who are dead in the ground when the Lord comes back the dead in Christ will rise to meet him in the air but then there's another group my God have mercy there's another group who are not going to be dead there are going to be those who are alive who have been walking with him all of their days and all of a sudden they're going to be caught up together with them my God have mercy they're going to be caught up we're going to be trans translated the word translated means to be carried over carried over what death oh death where is thy steam he walked with Great Men great women and they died and Enoch just kept on walking and one day he was here and then the next he was die brothers and sisters we have hope today that if we die we have hope that we will be resurrected again in New Life Never to perish again but if the Lord wills and we don't taste death we have a promise that if he returns while we are alive we will be caught up in the air to meet him we're going to meet those who went before us they're going to be there waiting on us The Godly line Here Comes Enoch Walking with God and in an instant he was carried over and the one he had walked with for 365 years he met him face to face I want to walk with him I want to live in such a way that I please him does that mean it's perfect does that mean it's living a life of perfection no but it's meaning I know he's going to be there if I fall I seen that little girl walk for the first time she take a couple steps and then fall you just pick her up set her back back up let's try it again you know after she's Fallen she wants to grab hold of something right just a little just a little leer of what might happen you know I fell before like come on just let let go of the table let go of the chair let go of that and just come on you just walk again here she comes you celebrate and you say let's do it again a little bit further this time okay mommy and daddy going to be over here we've got the treat the toy we got something for you just keep come on just try it and the next thing you know it's a little further than the last time that's like the Lord as we walk we're going to fall we're not going to have it all together we're going to make mistakes we're going to we're going to we're going to we're going to we're going to be human still but you know he doesn't do this just stay down just stay there I forget it you'll never get it right that's not what he says he says come on let me put me pick it back up let me pick it back up let's try it over again okay let's go a little further this time you made it a long time the last time come on let's do it again let's just keep on walking I'm I'm here to tell you today that if you will just walk with him if you'll just do the ordinary you will see him do the extraordinary in your life would you lift up your hands and would you lift up your heart that there is a walk and I want you to know there is a walk here for you today and this is the way that we should walk that we please him that our life is f is is fueled by faith it's fueled by grace and mercy it's fueled by love I wonder if somebody would say that's what I want brother Nate I want that kind of relationship with him I want that kind of relationship with him where I can walk with him I want to walk with him I want to talk with him I want to please him come on would you lift up your voice as you come today if you've not experienced that Awakening I'm telling you you can if you'll put your faith in him if you'll repent of your sins if you'll get baptized in the name of Jesus you can receive his spirit so you can walk in the spirit and not in the flesh you can walk with him and please him come on would you lift up your voice oh to you oh I give [Music] myself is my [Music] myself myself give myself [Applause] myself give myself away so you can you myself away [Music] [Applause] [Music] so often we want to in our Western culture we want to privatize faith we want to privatize our salvation but Enoch's walk wasn't just for Enoch there's a Methuselah who's watching and then from there there's going to come another preacher by the name of Noah Noah was a preacher of righteousness Jude says that Enoch preached of the day of the Lord the imminent Judgment of God Enoch's example is going to carry on Generations Methuselah needs to know how to live for God because there's going to be a Noah that needs to know how to live for God our faith cannot be privatized that I only do this when I come to church on Sunday I I'm not just doing this on Wednesdays and Sundays and a few special services we need to do this all the time because your children need to see how to live out a faith that's pleasing to God well they're going to get that from the preacher they're going to get that from the Sunday school teacher no they're not they see us for what two hours hours three hours a week they see you more they need to see you live this before them the greatest influence on my life is not Tim Gil my pastor my the greatest influence in my life is not Bishop walls the greatest influence in my life is not John boscus and Steve Wilson the greatest influence in my life is not Martin MC and Bishop MC I love all those men I would not be here without them but the greatest influence in my life is that woman right there she showed me what it was like to live for Jesus and guess where she learned it her mother showed her how to live for Jesus her grandmother showed her mother how to live for Jesus so Mabel Chambers who was one of the first people to get the Holy Ghost in Blooming the Indiana when the Holy Ghost swept through the Midwest her walk influenced come on somebody you don't know your decision today could influence another hundred years of apostolic Ministry but you got to make up your mind I'm not just going to walk with him on Sundays but I'm going to walk with him every day because my children my grandchildren my great grandchildren need an example one more time would you lift up your hands come on somebody we got to make a decision today as for me in my house I'm going to serve the Lord I'm going to walk with him I'm going to be faithful to him he's been faithful to me I'm going to be faithful to him come would you grab the hand of your neighbor I don't want to go through the motions today grab the hand of your neighbor maybe it's your spouse your children but I want you to pray with them because your greatest influence is a Methuselah oh God there's a lamic and there's a Noah my God have mercy they need to see what it looks like to worship him they need to see what it looks like to live for him they need to see what it looks like to walk with him after you fallen they need to see what it looks like to live holy they need to see come on there's Darkness there's corruption there's evil but there's going to be some people who walk with God there's going to be some people who please him there's going to be some people who love him and serve him they've got to have the influence they've got to have the example come on come on there might be a no in your future come on there might be a Revival in your future come on there might be another church that comes from you but it starts with you to walk with him would you clap your hands onto the Lord Hallelujah
