The Weeping that follows you to the Kings House

thank you thank you thank you for for having us this weekend my wife couldn't be here this morning this afternoon now we have our 64th anniversary at our church in knoxville celebrating that today and tonight and so yes amen amen great i've been there for 11 years and it's an honor to be able to celebrate a part of a church that's been there for longer than i've been alive and you know what i was thinking as i was standing there and i mentioned it last night last time i was here we were facing this direction and we had chairs like in this you and now we're expanding out i can't wait until this room is packed with people i can't wait we're making room we're making room and what you all are doing here it it is i'm blown away i love what you're doing here i love this whole setup i love how you operate and their teams working i like a church that's got it together that's what i like i like a church that's got people involved new people involved new things happening and i i just think the lord is going to see that and he's going to bless you and i'm going to come back one of these days and it's going to be full in here do you believe that i believe that it's going to be full i want to see that happen in jesus name in jesus name now we're going to go to the bible second samuel as return to second samuel i wrote a couple of books i'm not here to plug myself but i am going to tell you about a couple of things that i've written and hopefully uh it'll bless you so i wrote a book about uh you can keep playing man you can just keep taking those ivories that's fine that makes them feel pretty good makes me feel like i'm a lot better than i am uh so i wrote this book called the lost art of spiritual disciplines and i talk about consecration and holiness and how the threefold court of prayer fasting and bible study draws us closer to consecration and sanctification and purpose in our life and so i wrote that about uh 2012-2013 and if you're between the ages of uh 15 to 30. if you will if you don't have if you don't have this and you would like it you gotta be the first one to come grab this out of my hand 15 to 30. the first person the first person the first person boom the first person right there that's two people that came up right there my one and a half so i wrote that one i got that available at the table there as well then i wrote this last year actually in 2019 came out last year uh this is called i am studies in the i am declarations of jesus christ from the book of john where jesus says on the light on the door on the bread on the way the truth and life that's a book about that and how he is the great i am i kind of summarized at the end that the i am of the old testament is jesus revealed in the new testament he is the great i am so ages 15 to 25 first one to come get this is yours 15 to 25 first one who wants this first one first one boom my guy right here and the blazers right here i love them yes yes i got plenty of those they're uh 15 a piece two for 30. and uh no i'm kidding you get you get if you get both you get both of those it's two for 25. i'll make you a deal okay i believe in in kingdom that i took a picture of that affirmation that's powerful that's why we give that's why we get what a powerful affirmation i took a picture of that because i want that i want to say that and so i hope i'm sowing i'm giving to you today and i pray that the lord would bless you as you read that all right second samuel chapter number three will you help me today will you help me will you help me over here will you help me there's a couple like maybe we'll see we'll see how we're going well i might help you but listen i told you yesterday i preach faster if you help me and uh if you help me i might preach a little bit better too so help me help me as well i know you've got a picnic and now listen last time i was here last time i was here you had a chili cook-off or a soup competition or something all i know is i have been craving that sweet uh cornbread someone made in the saran wrap they wrapped it whoever made that bring that to me one of these days yes i'm coming back for that in one of these days and then somebody else had made some a real jambalaya or gumball i can't remember which one it was who made that somebody made that some listen please when i come back have that chili competition again i want to be here when that takes place i don't have to preach just invite me to dinner i'll be here that's that was awesome i have that was the best that was some of the best i've ever had my entire life and it was right here so uh yeah so just when you're having that again pastor just invite me and so i'll be here for that but thank you i give honor to your pastor and your pastor's wife aren't they awesome powerful couple and thank you for this praise let's give us this praise team a great big hand i know all the work that goes into that my wife does our music and that's hard work that's hard work right there doing that and leading people into the presence of the lord all these teams and the production y'all are awesome and i give you honor all of your ministry team all those who are leading those who are praying today i give you honor as well second samuel chapter number three we're gonna talk about david again uh this afternoon second samuel three i won't keep you standing much longer second samuel three verses thirteen through sixteen now this is abner abner and david talking to one another and here's kind of the context david is his king in hebron but abner is getting ready to join forces with david and make him king over all of israel okay and he said well i'll make a league with thee but one thing they've been saying one thing i require of thee that is thou shall not see my face except thou first bring my call saul's daughter when thou cometh to see my face and david sent messengers to ishmael now this is saul's son who was reigning after saul had died and jonathan had died he's now king kind of a vassal king there in israel and he tells ishmael saith saul's son saying deliver me my wife my kale which i espoused to me for 100 foreskins of the philistines and ishmael sheth sent and took her from her husband now hold on does this does this sound weird to you yet it's weird to me he took her from her husband even from falteel the son of laish now look at verse 16 this is where i'm going to preach from today and her husband went with her along weeping behind her to behear him then said abner unto him dear lord stop go home i'm tired of hearing you cry go return and that weeping man returned this afternoon i know this is a youth event and i'm going to preach to our youth today but i wanna preach to everybody that's here okay if you'll help me the weeping that follows you to the king's house the weeping that follows you to the king's house once you put your bibles down your device is down i want you to slip up your hand i want you to pray again today that the lord would speak to somebody a a relevant word to their spirit come on would you pray that father in the name of jesus we thank you for your presence that's already in this room the great worship that we've had the great time of fellowship and giving and prayer but god let your word go forth right now let it be let it be a seed that finds the good ground let it be a prophetic word a hammer of a word god that destroys bondages right now lord let your word go forth as a sore dividing asunder soul and spirit let your word go forth as a mirror let us see ourselves in the mirror of god's word and see that we need to change where we are god let your word go forth today a word that gets a quickening word a creative word let it go forth today that we might be changed and give us hope and encouragement in jesus name we pray why don't you clap your hands unto the lord again today come on i wish now somebody would lift up your voice come on you don't need a piano you don't need a bass drum you don't need a guitar to lift up your voice and give jesus come on will you lift him up just a moment we love you jesus we love you lord we love you jesus hallelujah hallelujah you can be seated here in the presence of the lord the weeping that follows you to the king's house throughout the bible there is the imagery of marriage from the second chapter in genesis adam and eve are joined together in holy matrimony and finally the very last book of the bible revelation the bride the church is adorned for her husband and are gathered at the marriage supper of the lamb the very first miracle that jesus works is found in john and it's found at a wedding this is what alfred ettersheim the great bible historian said of marriage in biblical times listen to me now i'm this is a youth event now i'm gonna preach to our youth okay now listen to me he says this quote the rabbis argue that man must seek after the woman and not a woman after a man man they say was formed from the ground woman from man's rib hence in trying to find a wife man only looks after what he has lost whoo someone say man there were some husbands that were like am i so sure about that there's some wives going let's get to the picnic and we'll see so the bridegroom now listen to me the bridegroom was to seek after his bride ladies listen to me single ladies if he isn't chasing you then he's not worthy of catching you oh somebody say amen if he's not chasing you he's not worthy of catching you you need somebody who's coming after you looking after you saying what's your situation sliding into your dms hey can i have your number hey i'm chasing after you you don't have to chase after a boy come on young man chase after her show her she's worthy of chasing after oh somebody say amen in the ancient near east the bridegroom was to pay a price in order that he may marry a young girl now listen fathers of daughters could ask a minimum of 200 denarius once the dowry has been paid she is legally under the ownership of the bridegroom they have entered into and you weren't here last night i'll tell you this word they have entered into a covenant he paid a price to the father so that they could be together in covenant let me just say this brothers you're going to have to pay to get a bride you're going to have to pay now let me just i'm i'm pastoring i'm fathering right now can i just can i just i'm advising counseling to you ladies if he's not going to pay for your meal if he's not going to pay for your meal find you a man who will well he's cute but he better have a job because if there's no finances there's no chances of the romances oh somebody say amen he better have a job well he's he's he's in betwixt a job right now what's he doing playing video games all day you need to find you another man find you oh you're hearing me today i'm preaching to the youth right now i'm preaching to some wives saying you better get you a job taco bell is paying 11 an hour get you a job stop playing xbox we got things to do around here oh you ain't going to help me preach today are you you need to have somebody who can pay a price for you when i met ashley mccool oh my lord i when i seen her she was singing uh we we at a con are you our youth conference and i was playing drums and uh the coordinator of the music i said is that ashley mccool and he said yes i said what is her situation he said i think she's got a boyfriend i'm like there ain't no ring is there i'm gonna see what we can do well she showed up and i i may have told you this story before and if i have i'm so sorry but uh so she was singing i was playing drums and all the team gathered together before service started we prayed together and i seen that she headed out after we were done praying and she was this was downtown indianapolis and she was standing at some screens there in the convention center looking at at the at the news or something i just thought here's my chance and my two boys and my two of my closest friends were like here's your chance go talk to her and i'm like all right let's go like you can do it i'm like all right i've got i'm i've been i've been thinking about this playing this out i mean for for months here's how i'm going to talk to her and i'm kind of like and all of a sudden i get a little closer i'm going where are the words where are the words where's the script oh my goodness here she is and all i could say was how school that's all i could say and she's like honey i've been out she was like 24 so i've been out of school for a long time i'm like see you later all right guys that was it was over after that i thought i bombed it i had no words i mean when you see her you're just like speechless and so finally we we we kind of this is back before facebook and instagram and all that we had we had something really cool called myspace everyone's connected y'all i'm talking about right now and we got connected on there and we started talking and i said hey someone told me uh you had a boyfriend she's like well no i don't know about that and i'm like well i know that guy and he has posted in his myspace that he's coming to knoxville for christmas and uh you're in knoxville and this sounds serious he's like it's not serious and i was like well if it's not serious then you can break up with him and let me know what's going on all of a sudden i got a little i got a little brave and i was like what am i thinking what am i thinking what am i thinking you know what happened she broke up with that joker and she messaged me in january and i said did you get rid of that guy she said i did and i said i'm coming through here in a little bit i'm coming through knoxville on my way to north carolina how would you like to go out sometime and she was like i would like that number now guys i want to give you some advice i'm way off my notes right now but i'm helping you right i'm helping you right now i knew her dad mark mccool loved ralph lauren polo i knew that everybody knows mark mccool loves ralph lauren polo i stopped in nashville on my way to knoxville found me a dillards and i said i don't want some small polo horse on my shirt i want the largest polo shirt i want that big old horse right there and so i went and i bought that and i went to her door and i rang the doorbell and mark mccool opened the door and he goes hey i like that shirt and i was like i just won that round it's on me now let's go guess what we went on that date that's march i asked her to get married in may i i listen i went the next listen this is no joke the next week i went and bought a ring why because if if there ain't no ring on it i'm going to put a ring on it because she's gorgeous and look at this look at this i got nothing to work with here let me go buy a ring before she gets her smarts about her and realizes that guy ain't got no hair it's not coming back and her mama was like do you think he would let it grow out i'm like i'll try and then i did i looked like lee stone king and i was like nah i'm not gonna do this no more i'm gonna keep shaving it i'm so sorry lee if you're watching right now i'm so sorry but you're not pay a price you're gonna pay a price and guess what i married her the next year oh lord there is a god thank you jesus there he is a miracle-working god marriage is powerful but there's a price to be paid if there was going to be a bride and a bridegroom if they were going to come together the bridegroom had to pay the price now i'm going somewhere don't don't don't beat me to the finish line just yet but the father asked the price and if he was willing to pay it she would be his now this is what paul said in first corinthians 6 20 for ye are bought with a price therefore glorify god in your body and in your spirit which are god can i tell you today you and i have been bought with a price the bridegroom has paid the price with his own blood jesus said that he chose us and we didn't choose him the bridegroom came seeking after us and said whatever the price is that's what i'll pay and he paid for you and he paid for you and he paid for you with his own blood can i tell you that you are not your own but you are the lord's and he paid a price for you i wish somebody was helping me right now that's why we don't live any old way that's why we don't act any old way because he paid the price and i am his and if you're happy about that you should clap your hands you should lift up your voice and thank god that he chose you he chose you he chose you in all your mess he chose you and your condition he chose you with all of your hang-ups he chose you somebody should say amen oh hallelujah he paid the price for us now our story is david has been reigning as king in judah in hebron and abner the general of israel's army under ish both sheth he kind of got wore out by ish boshes leadership ish both sheth had lied about abner accused him of something he said well forget it i'm going to david so he goes to hebron and finds david he says i know the lord has given you the kingdom and i'm going to help you take over all of israel you're not just going to rule over hebron and judah you're going to rule over all the 12 tribes of israel and here's david's listen to me now this is david's request he said all right ishma chef i'll rule i'll reign we'll set up the kingdom here's my request i want my wife david i don't think you know who i am um this is not love connection david uh i'm i'm abner general of the armies don't you want some valiant men to come and overtake the kingdom that's what you want you want strong valiant warring men david goes no the first thing that i want i want my wife let me give you a little story here between michael and david michael was the daughter of saul and david was just a young man he had just killed a giant and now he has come into the kingdom to help saul and saul hears the cries of the people saul has killed his thousands david has killed his tens of thousands and jealousy begins to boil up into his heart and into his spirit and he wants to kind of get rid of david he said maybe what i could do is i'll give him my kale to be his wife and david said this is not a small thing to be the son-in-law of the king and so saul tells david if you would like to marry michael i'm naming my price if you want her and david said oh i want her she's a looker yeah i'll take her yeah she's beautiful yeah what's the price and saul says the price for my kale is 100 philistine foreskins a gruesome bloody price and david says a hundred i'll get you two hundred because i've seen her and i want her i'll take her to be mine name the price i'll go above and beyond it i'll get you 200 foreskins and so david goes and kills 200 philistines sheds blood to go get my kale and he comes back and he gives those far skins to saul and he hands over michelle and they become into one covenant one person flesh and blood but here's the story it keeps rolling on like this that saul's jealousy begins to continue to rage on and he hates david he despises david even tries to kill him throwing a spear at him and so david has to flee my kale helps him to flee and she stays behind but the issue is brothers and sisters is that saul gave my tail to somebody else when david left now you're probably thinking maybe just david's just forget about it that's a that's a pretty bad family to get involved with maybe he should just kind of move on with his life kind of go on with his life kind of let things happen and see if maybe maybe he'd just forget about it but all those years david was on the run all he could think about was his bride i paid a price for her in one of these days i'm coming back to get her one of these days this bridegroom is coming back for what he paid for i'm coming back to get what's mine one of these days i'm going to have a kingdom and i'm going to be king and i want my bride are you hearing me are you seeing what i'm are you seeing where i'm going just now and so that's what david says david said i don't want i don't want a hundred warriors i i i don't want any of that i want my bride here's my chance if i'm gonna have a kingdom i want what i paid for and so if moshe says all right i'll see what i can do david so abner goes back to his beauchette and says now look look at this look because here's here's the important part i want us to miss this david sent the messenger and this is what the message says i want my wife michael which i espouse to me for a hundred foreskins of the philistines what david is saying is i i have i have claim over her i want you to realize what i paid for her she's mine the issue is brothers and sisters is that she was with somebody else by the name of foul teal and so ishmael chef says all right go to gallum go to faltel's house go get my kale the king wants his bride it's not going to see ishmael chef going to fall teal's house fault here going the door hey hey uh abner hey it's abner hey hey man what are you what are you doing here um i'm here on behalf of david say who david son of jesse just respond my girl abner's out here said he's here for david you said he was dead yes yes you're david oh no abner are you sure you're at the right place are you sure you're at the right place you see because she was given to me and abner says but david paid a price he paid a price in blood for in that for who's in that house just just one second abner just my kale he said he wants to take you back to david what are we going to do about this and michael looks i can just imagine i could just imagine the look on her face when she hears the name david is at the door i can just i can just imagine the goosebumps and the butterflies in her stomach all of a sudden she realizes the bridegroom is back and he wants me let me tell you something i used to feel sorry for foul deal if i read this story i marked this story up in my bible for years ago i wrote this down thinking i feel bad for this guy i feel bad for him i mean he's got a good thing going he's got the king's daughter living in gallum i mean things are going pretty good and here comes david he's been gone doing who knows what and now he's getting ready to set up his kingdom and he can have anything in the world that he wants and he wants my kale i want to tell you something there are all kinds of people and people in this room right now who get connected to things that they shouldn't be connected to there are some in this room right now we might feel sorry for some of the things we get connected to but connections formed in sin must sooner or later end in suffering you want to know why because those things didn't pay a price for you are you hearing me let me tell you something about you let me tell you something depression let me tell you drug habit let me tell you lust problem let me tell you lying addiction let me tell you alcoholism let me tell you those who are addicted to nicotine let me tell you those who are oppressed by devils you didn't pay for these you didn't pay a price for these and when the king wants what he paid for there is nothing i wish somebody was helping me right now you're gonna have to realize the king's at the door the kings at the door the bridegroom that he will come he will come back he wants what he paid a price for he wants you what he wants what he paid for and foul teal knew he was on limited time because he was on she was only given to him but david paid for her can you just see my kale light up hey faultil hey man hey hey hi listen hi listen hi uh just one second abner hi listen we've had a great run listen we had we i've learned a lot and we know i had some good time got some bad times but get to get the chariots ready uh but you know what faulty listen the bridegroom has has come back for me the king wants me and listen i've stayed long enough with you oppression i've stayed long enough with you pornography i've stayed long enough with you alcohol because let me tell you something when the king calls for me i'm telling you goodbye some of you need to look at your past and say i've learned a lot i've had some experience but you know what i'm saying goodbye to you i'm getting out of here i'm tired of living with you i'm tired of shacking up with you i'm going to the bridegroom i wish somebody was hearing me right now you need to look at your past right now and say goodbye goodbye addiction goodbye depression get the chariots ready i'm getting out of here i'm getting out of here i'm leaving it behind what but here's what happens fall teal is not going to go quietly sin never goes quietly addiction never goes quietly listen i know i hurt you last time but i won't hurt you no more but i promise it'll be different this time as soon as somebody gets the holy ghost here comes all their friends all those friendships they formed in sin it'll be different why are you acting like that why are you dressing like that you know you make me feel condemned and guilty here comes all of your addictions well we woke up to drink every day we won't have to drink all the time just socially and fall teal followed her weeping from gallum to hebron most bible commentators think that's about five to ten miles yeah one mile of walking is a long walk this is cornbread speaking right now this is gumbo loving speaking right now one miles long enough half just by yourself like is this over yet have i closed those rings yet no okay maybe i'll just you sit down and it says time to stand up and like be quiet stop telling me to move i want to sit here and chillax move i missed one mile is hard enough but imagine going five miles with somebody this this is the quarter that's the conservative amount five miles of someone following you five miles of that but there are some people in this room your past has been weeping after you for five to ten years there's some in this room your past and your mistakes and your failures have been following after you for five to ten months and let me tell you something that's too long you need to turn around and tell fall till now listen we had a good time listen i'm thankful for all the things that i've learned but let me tell you something i've got to go i've got to get out of here it's time to tell your past it's time to tell your failures we are done i'm gonzo i'm out of here the king i wish somebody was hearing me right now you gotta look at your weeping past you gotta look at your weeping failures and say delete from my phone unfriend unfollow there's some things you need to delete from your phone not just friends but some applications and some websites and some of y'all need to get some things out of your wallet and out of your purse and say listen addiction listen past i'm tired of your weeping i'm getting out of here five miles some of y'all have put up with your past for way too long it haunts you you pray you'll come to an altar and you'll feel freedom only to be met by a weeping past in your car you'll get home and there it is waiting on you i knew you'd be back you need to tell your past we're out of here i'm leaving i'm leaving now 5-10 miles i'm almost done i promise 5-10 miles and they get to hebron and i can just imagine abner has got his hand on the hilt of his sword just please just one one more tier just just one more just one just okay just one more like you're telling your child on the count of two this is it okay and you get to two and they're like still doing it you're like okay two more i'll write this this is it i'm telling you felt hill falling after her i could see david looking out the window going hey that looks like my bride hey man who's that following after her fall who what kind of name is fall teal anyway how long has he been following her now listen he's not coming in with her so my bear to go tell her he's not coming in here he crying oh my guys look at this he's crying man what an absolute joker man crying after her i mean i probably craft her tube and she pretty you know what's she gonna do is she gonna try to bring him in here he's getting way too close abner get your sword there's some things that can't come into the king's presence there are some things god's just not going to allow to stay with you and finally listen to him i'm almost done if you want to start playing the piano so they can feel like they're i'm almost done she turns to fall teal hey we need to have a little talk um i've been listening to your crying uh five miles now i'm talking like walking five miles not like tesla 60 miles an hour five miles and um and i've been really patient with all of this abner get the door ready uh and listen faulty i'm so sorry this that it has to end this way but just one second and um listen uh you know what you might want to do is get the door ready it's my my fault deal this little this listen buddy bye bye see you later close the door some of you need to close the door on your past because it's not going to be let in to the king's presence you need to look at it and say we've gone far enough you have you've brought me agony you've brought me shame you've brought me guilt you've brought me all kinds of terrible emotions and consequences but listen listen listen i am out of here you need to go where you came from and you know where he came from he came from a place called gallum and gallum stand to your feet gallum means heaps heaps like trash heaps faultil i'm not letting that trash in my home i'm not letting that trash in my mind are you hearing me i'm not letting that trap i'm i'm over it i'm tired of it you're going back to the heap where you came from some of you right now in this room some young person in this room you need to get fed up in your spirit i'm not letting that trash in my life anymore because falteo never paid a price for mikel never paid a price for he has no ownership there's no ownership he didn't pay a price for her she's free to go back to the one who paid the price what does david ask of her leave fall teal and come back to me it doesn't matter how long you've been gone doesn't matter how long you've been putting up with that the price has already been paid he wants you to come home he wants you to come back i'm going to tell you a little story i'm done i promise i am not the son of a preacher i'm not the grandson of a preacher my dad was a alcoholic drink and smoking himself to death my mom was a holiness prayer warrior gave me a drug problem when i was a kid drugged me to church on tuesdays thursdays sunday morning sunday night youth rallies camps conferences she was not gonna let me be like my dad but you know what i was young and ignorant and i backslid by the time i'm 19 20 years old i fought i fought those addictions fought those demons i fought those weaknesses they just constantly attacked me constantly attached themselves to me every time i felt like i had some freedom i'd pray and feel like you have some type of freedom or some liberty here i was there they were then the lord got a hold of me easter service about 25 24 and i prayed and i prayed at that altar i'm sure someone was there praying with me i'm almost certain of it sure of it but it just felt like me and jesus at that altar crying weeping repenting being refilled with the holy ghost and i got up from praying i walked down the aisle back up to my seat no fall teal showed up in my spirit saying he'll do it again you'll be back you've cried like this before you've prayed like this before it's a high the low's coming and i heard him i'm sure somebody heard me and they probably thought i was insane but i said out loud i'll never be back it's over i'm a new creature old things are passed away and everything's become new i'm telling you goodbye you know what happened friends started texting me hey you gonna come party hey where are you you know what i had to do not respond and delete their phone number brother whitley does it take all of that took all that from me i had to make up my mind the king paid for me i've been bought with a price i am no longer my own i'm gonna glorify god in my body and once you lift up your hands right now over the sanctuary there's somebody your past your failures and mistakes your hang-ups and your shortcomings just constantly follow after you weeping after you reminding you of all of your all of your losses and all of your bad decisions you need to tell that thing goodbye there's some young lady your past has haunted you for way too long you need to tell it goodbye today some young man in this room you need to make up your mind that i'm going to cut some relationships off there's some things i'm going to get rid of in my life that that trash is not coming with me to the king's house i got to get rid of it i'm not allowing it to haunt me anymore and weep after me no more i'm i'm new and i'm i'm starting over and i'm i'm making up my mind i'm drawing some lines i'm creating some boundaries why would you pray right now the holy ghost is ministering i wonder there would be the young the young people would come right now i want i would usually say this one person i want everyone every young person to come up here right now because they're you are fighting things that i don't understand there's things that you're you are constantly faced with but you need to make up your mind that if he can do it for somebody like me he can do it for you but you're going to have to make up your mind today that this is a different youth weekend i've been to lots of youth weekends but this is my youth weekend and this is my weekend where things are are different and i'm changed and i'm not going back you need to look at your past and look at your failures and say goodbye find a place of repentance find a place a prayer and say i'm not going back to that stuff i'm cutting it off i'm getting rid of it i'm a new creation all things are going to be passed away i'm going to be cleansed i'm going to be whole and i'm going to glorify god come on if you're comfortable i want you to pray for somebody pray with somebody there's somebody in this room who's been hearing the chatter of weeping and and listening to the tears of their past and you you need to just tell it goodbye get out of my spirit get out of my heart get out of my conscience get out of here i'm tired of dealing with it because this is not coming into the king's house this is not coming into the king's presence come on young lady that's it come on young man that's the holy ghost ministering to you right now come on the holy ghost is here to liberate you and to free you come on yes come on i'm looking back at my past saying goodbye no longer am i
