Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
My Cup Runneth Over
- From Psalms 23 he reads the valley of the shadow of death walked through without fear, the table prepared in the presence of enemies, the head anointed with oil, and the cup running over — and announces his subject: living in the overflow.
- He warns against a cheap prosperity doctrine that twists scripture, but refuses to let it stop him preaching a God who blesses his people with favor that is full and running over.
- He teaches that oil in scripture represents God's anointing, his spirit, his blessing and favor, and being chosen by God — and that the overflow is sure because the source is God himself, who gives and takes away.
- He says no one can work hard enough, behave well enough, or get around the right people to make the oil flow; you cannot be a self-made man and manufacture the blessings of God.
Scriptures: Psalm 23:4-6
Whatever You Need, God Has It in Good Supply
- He anchors the supply in Philippians 4:19 — my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus — and says God's economy does not fluctuate with housing markets or jobs; if God wants a family blessed, no devil in hell can stop it.
- He says goodness fills the cup in the house of the Lord, and mercy is never depleted: his mercies are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness, so hold the cup back up at sunrise.
- He warns not to mistake enemies and battles for the absence of an overflowing life: God prepares the table and fills the cup right in the enemy's face, with goodness and mercy seated alongside.
- He points to the overflow of Acts 2, when about three thousand souls were added to the church in one day because the church was in overflow.
Scriptures: Philippians 4:19; Lamentations 3:23; Acts 2:41
Healing in Good Supply — and the Vessel Problem
- From First Peter 2 he reads that Christ bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness — by whose stripes ye were healed.
- He says the stripes paid for every sickness and disease in full, and the oil from heaven has been in good supply for over two thousand years.
- He concludes there is no supply problem and no overflow problem — there is a vessel problem: on good days and bad days God is still good, and the question is the vessel he pours into.
Scriptures: 1 Peter 2:24
Obedience Opens the Overflow
- He reads Leviticus 26 as the pattern: no idols, keep my Sabbaths, reverence my sanctuary, walk in my statutes and keep my commandments — and God gives rain in due season, the land yields her increase, and the trees yield their fruit.
- He reads on in the chapter: peace in the land with none making afraid, respect and fruitfulness and the covenant established, eating old store and bringing forth the old because of the new — increase so great there is not room to store it — and God walking among his people as their God.
- He says the one word the vessel must supply is obedience: obedience gets the rain to come and the goodness to come.
- From Joshua 3 he notes the Jordan overflowed all its banks at harvest time when the ark went in, and draws the lesson that overflow happens in times of harvest — then speaks a word of faith over this obedient church: favor, healing, and prodigals returning are on the way.
Scriptures: Leviticus 26:1-4; Leviticus 26:6; Leviticus 26:9; Leviticus 26:10; Leviticus 26:12; Joshua 3:15
Blessings That Come On You and Overtake You
- From Deuteronomy 28 he reads the promise to the diligent hearkener: God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth, and all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee — and applies it to God's people today who hearken to his voice.
- He speaks the blessing over the church and over a faithful family in the congregation, saying God cannot help but bless obedient, faithful people, and that the sanctuary will not be big enough for what is coming.
- With a tabletop illustration he shows what the rising overflow does: it brings everything that does not matter to the top — pride, selfishness, and the rest — and if those things are not removed, the overflowing stops.
Scriptures: Deuteronomy 28:1-2
Tithing, the Name Like Ointment, and Remission of Sins
- He preaches the tithe text — bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse and prove the Lord of hosts, who will open the windows of heaven — and argues the word for window is the floodgate word of the Genesis flood: he serves a floodgate God, not a window God.
- He says tithing and offering not only open heaven but reveal why a life is not blessed, as the things crowding out the blessing rise to the top.
- From the Song of Solomon he takes the name that is as ointment poured forth, and teaches that at baptism in Jesus' name the miraculous supply of that name begins to be poured out.
- He insists on the full phrase, the remission of sins: at baptism God removes not only the sins we committed but brings to the top and removes the sins committed against us, with their shame and scars.
- He names anxious and depressed thoughts as things that rise to the top and rob the overflowing life, and charges believers to use the name that is theirs — at the name of Jesus every knee bows — and take authority over those thoughts.
Scriptures: Song of Solomon 1:3
Living Water at the Well, and the Altar
- He retells Jesus's journey through Samaria and the conversation at the well: the woman who came for temporal water was offered living water that would be in her a well springing up into everlasting life, and her hidden life was called out — not in judgment, but so the water could keep flowing.
- He draws the line between temporal water and eternal water: worship can touch the outside for a moment, but God on the inside is eternal, and a thirsty soul needs the inside supply.
- He says the preaching has brought things to the surface on purpose — sins, excuses, feelings of unworthiness — because what rises to the top can be dealt with and removed, and the overflow can begin.
- He leads the whole church body in a prayer of repentance, himself confessing his own shortcomings as a father and husband, then teaches the altar: God changes the heart, and the tongue — the most unruly member — yields and speaks with new tongues as the Holy Ghost is received.
- He urges seekers not to stop at trembling hands: what is felt in the hands must get into the tongue, and unworthiness is the best feeling to bring, because no one can earn the gift.

Psalms 23 verse number four. Yay. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me, in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runth over. Somebody say running over. I saw a video of this next verse. This poor lady was trying to pronounce this. She said, "Surely goodly and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. My cup runth over tonight." I want to preach for just a few moments with the help of the Lord this evening on living in the overflow. Living in the overflow. I don't know about you, but that's where I want to live. in the overflow of God's blessings, the overflow of God's spirit. And tonight, I believe God is going to show us and maybe baptize us again so we can be living in that overflow. If you receive that in Jesus name, would you put your Bibles down? You lift your heaven uh your hands to heaven and most importantly lift your voice. Let's ask God to help us tonight. God, we know that you have something great for this church, Lord, this evening. God, we know that we felt your spirit already tonight, God. And I pray Lord we'd realize God that we are living a blessed life God. We are living God above and not beneath. God we are the head and not the tail. Lord you want to give your church a blessing tonight where there is not room enough to receive it. Lord God I know you have an overflow of blessings and comfort and peace in someone's life. Lord God I pray you would do something in this house. Lord I want to live in that overflow. God, you I don't want to live less of what you of what you have for me, God. And I do everything in your name. In Jesus' name we pray. Someone said, "In Jesus name." And now clap your hands all across this house tonight. Amen. Amen. You may be seated in the house of the Lord this evening. I heard it said like this, "If if you're going to preach a flop, you better have a prop." So, well, we're going to We're going to preach. We're going to preach with a a prop tonight. I want to live in the overflow of what God has for me and my family. I want my family to be in the overflow of God's goodness. There is a a cheap um doctrine um that takes this idea of living in the overflow of God's blessing. It's called a prosperity gospel. And while they twist and contort scriptures because we know that not it's not just living for God, it's not all about the blessings. But when you live for God, you do live a blessed life. He gives and he takes away. And and so and and in this prosperity gospel, they they contort scripture. They they they twist scripture out of its context and and try to make it say things that it doesn't say. But I'm not going to let a prosperity gospel stop me from preaching about a God that blesses. It's not going to stop me from preaching to someone tonight that you can be blessed through Jesus Christ. You can have favor in your life. How much favor? I It's full and running over. That's how much favor and how much goodness you can have in your life. Because the bottom line is God wants his church, his people to live in the overflow. Brother Dempsey, it was quite difficult to to pick a scripture to open up with tonight because there's so many scriptures talking about an overflow that God wants to give his people. So, you can just thumb your you can put your thumb through the scripture and pick a scripture about our our our lives being running over with something from God. If it's goodness, if it's mercy, all those things will have our cup full and running over. Oil in the scripture represent represents some powerful things. Oil represents God's anointing and and the oil can also represent the spirit of God. The oil can also represent the blessing and the favor of God. The oil can represent being chosen by God. And we'll get into this scripture here in a few moments, but uh Solomon said that his name is like oil. So the the overflow that God wants for his church is sure and it is true because good things happen when the church lives in the overflow. Revival happens when the church is in overflow. Acts 2 and 41 we heard this more heard that this scripture this morning. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized. There was an overflow. And the same day there were added unto them about 3,000 souls. There were about 3,000 souls that were added to the church. Why? Because the church was in overflow. All these things that are so powerful in scripture, we see the oil representing. But I want to tell us tonight that you can't do enough things to get blessings or favor for yourself. You can't be good enough or wellbehaved enough to get the oil to start flowing in your life. You can't be what is called a self-made man and get the blessings of God to overflow in your life. You can't work hard enough to have the oil to begin to flow. But the source of the o overflow is from God himself. Why? He can give and take away is because it is his to give and it's his to take away. Every good gift we know comes from God. And God has something for us tonight. Philippians 4:19 says, "But my God shall supply all your needs." We can stop right there and realize that only God can supply exactly what we need in our life. You can't get around the right people. You can't do everything within your power to fulfill your need. But only God can satisfy all your needs. Whatever you need tonight, you've tried many different things. If it's a better job with better pay, that will not supply all your needs. But let someone get in the house of the Lord where good preaching on tithing and offering takes place. That's where the overflow begins. Your life could be a whole lot better making less money and being in the house of God and hearing good preaching. Because when I hear good preaching and I respond to the word of God, that's when the overflow begins. My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. On the onset of tonight, I've come to tell us whatever you need, whatever you've come on this Sunday night on Pentecost Sunday in search of, whatever you need, God's got it in good supply. God's got it in good supply. God's blessings aren't determined by a fluctuating economy. God's economy is sure, and it comes in an overflow. God's blessings aren't determined by an increase in a house market or a decrease in the housing market. If God wants you to be blessed, there's no one on this earth that can stop the blessings of God in your life. I know that sounds like prosperity preaching, but it's in the word of God. If God wants you and your family to be blessed, there's no one there's no devil in hell that can stop the blessings of God in your life. I don't know about you, but that makes me feel good that I can come and serve a God that he will give and he will bless me and he'll bless me where my cup is running over. Whatever I need, he will give to me. The psalmist says that his cup runth over. Whatever you need tonight, God's got it and he's got it in good supply. Surely goodness will follow me. Maybe goodness is what you need tonight. I'm telling you, God's got goodness, and he's got a good supply of goodness. No wonder the psalmist said, "I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord." I don't know about you, but when I get to the house of the Lord, some goodness starts to fill my cup. I don't know about you, but that pastor talked about smile a little bit. I don't know about you, but when I get to the house of God, I start to smile and rejoice that what's that I feel God's filling your cup up with goodness. And that goodness can be overflowing tonight. If if coming to church don't make you happy, there's something wrong. I tell you like my mama said, there's some there's somebody wrong. And the who is you. That's how my mama said it. If coming to church don't make you happy, there's something wrong. I tell you, you look at 599 other folks tonight and they look happy. But who is you? Because I was glad when they said unto me, it's Sunday night. Let's go back to the house. Oh Lord, you went Sunday morning. I know, but my cup was just full. But on Sunday night, my cup runth over with goodness. I just need to hear the choir sing one more time. And that goodness come out. And now my cup is going. What's that? on Monday morning. My cup's still overflowing with goodness because I've been in to the house of the Lord. Well, let's say you've got all the goodness in your life you need. Let's go to mercy. Well, the Bible says they are in Lamentations 3 and23. They are, and he's speaking of mercy, mercies are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness. Maybe it's mercy what you need in your life. You feel like mercy has been depleted and mercy has been wasted. And why don't you wait till the sun goes down and the sun comes back up and get your cup back out that you need to be filled with mercy and just hold it up because the Bible says his mercies are new every single morning. So what I want to tell you tonight, whatever you need, God's got it. He's got it. And he's got it in good supply. I'm thankful to serve a God like that. I'm talking about good supply. There's nothing wrong with the supply of what God has. The goodness and mercy in our opening text, your your your cup is running over. Everything's going good. But the Bible says that he's prepared a table before me, right in the midst of the presence of my enemies. God cares about us, but he's not concerned with our enemies. Because the presence of my enemies does not mean that God is not good and that God is not merciful. The goodness of God is right smack dab in the middle of the face of the enemy. That makes me so happy that God has prepared a table before me in the presence of my enemies. And we see that you you just see that that long line there. You got your enemies over here. The people who talk bad about you over here. They're looking at you in the face. You think, "God, what kind of table is that?" Well, I'm sitting right next to goodness and mercy. And that's who I like on my side. that goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. So, what I've come to tell you is don't mistake enemies and battles for God not letting you have an overflowing life because God has so much more and he will put it right in your enemy's face that you are blessed and highly favored. God will put it right back in your enemy's face that God loves you and that you're favored and that you have goodness and mercy. It's all while the enemy is trying to have dinner. The enemy is trying to enjoy some dinner, looking at you and mocking you, but you've got goodness and mercy sitting right next to you. What do you say now, enemy? I I I I love I love the scripture. In the midst of my enemies, my cup is running over. In the midst of devils attacking me and my family, it's all while God's filling my cup up and it's running over. I don't know about you, but that just makes me feel good tonight. I could go through hell and God says, "Surely goodness and mercy. Go follow them. Go follow the carpenters all the way to the valley of the shadow of death. They will fear no evil." God, you make a table for our families in the presence of my enemies. That's fine. Because my cup of goodness is running over. I've come to tell you, God's been good to us. I've come to tell you, God's been faithful to us. God has never left us. God has never forsaken us. And that is all happening while the enemy is looking at us trying to eat dinner. Goodness. I'm telling you, if you can look over your life, you'll recognize the cup of goodness is full. If you've got a mate tonight, your your your cup of goodness is full. If you're wanting a mate tonight and you're at church looking, your cup of goodness is going to be full. It's what the scripture says. Something like that. So don't mistake enemies and battles for the absence of an overflowing life. There's good supply of life that God wants to give you. God said, Jesus said, "I have come that they might have life." That would be good. But we serve an overflowing God. Not only life, but they might have that life more. That sounds like God wants you to live an overflowing life. God wants you to have happiness and God wants you to have joy, but God wants you to have so much happiness and so much joy that it overflows and it's on the people you are around. So I've come to ask you, why are you selling yourself short of the life that God wants you to have? God has everything that you need in good supply. Healing is in good supply. 1 Peter 2 and 24, who his own self bear our sins in the in his own body on the tree, that we being dead of sins should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes ye were healed. When Jesus Christ took 39 stripes upon his back, he paid for every sickness, every disease was paid absolutely full for the last 2,000 years. I don't know if you're getting what I'm I'm trying to preach tonight because I'm trying to tell us that whatever you need is in good supply. If you need a healing tonight, I want to tell you there's a good supply of healing and God wants to run your cup over with tonight. The healing that God would have for you. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. The oil from heaven has been in good supply for over 2,000 years. We don't have a supply problem. We don't have an overflow problem. There's not enough supply. We have a vessel problem. In all throughout scripture, there's nothing wrong with the supply of oil. God's goodness still good. I have bad days, God's still good. I have good days, God's still good. So, the supply of oil is in good supply. But we have a vessel problem. Leviticus 26 and1 tells us that ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land to bow down unto it. For I am the Lord your God. Ye shall keep my Sabbaths, reverence my sanctuary. I am the Lord. If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments and do them, I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield yield their fruit. What I'm trying to tell us tonight, if we want the overflowing life that God has for us, it requires one word, and that is obedience. Obedience gets the rain to come. Obedience gets the goodness to come. And in Leviticus, it was through obedience that increase started to come. When the vessels, the children of Israel, when the when the vessels, the children of Israel were obedient, this is what God did to them in verse number six. I will give you peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. In verse number nine, for I will have respect unto you and make you fruitful and multiply you and establish my covenant with you. And listen to verse number 10. And ye shall eat old store and bring forth the old because of the new. Now don't read quite over this because this is a powerful revelation that God gives his people. What this is saying is that if you obey me, I'm going to increase you. If you obey me and honor me in every facet of your life, I'm going to have I'm going to take your enemies out of the the land you're going to live in. But verse number 10 tells us that you don't have enough room for what God wants to give you. Ah, that just makes that just does something to me. What this is saying that there's going to be so much new increase when you begin to obey. You're going to have to go to your barns and take down the things that you were storing for the bad days because there's so much new increase in God doing a new thing. An overflow starts to happen because of obedience. An overflow and not an old old thing, but God's going to do a new thing. And that's all through obedience. Because God wants us to live an overflowing life. And I verse number 12. and I will walk among you and be your God, and ye shall be my people. And it requires one thing of the vessel, obedience. All you got All you got to do is keep my statutes. All you got to do is honor the Sabbath day. All you got to do is worship no other gods because no other gods have done anything for you like the God of Israel has done something for you. So, I want to tell you tonight, all you got to do is serve God and God begins to overflow things in your life. All you got to do is honor God in your family and the goodness and mercy begins to overflow in your family's life. That's the kind of God we serve. We see this in action in Joshua 3 and 15. And as they that bear the ark were come unto Jordan. And the feet of the priests that bear the ark were dipped in the brim of the water. This is when when Joshua is is taking the Levites. He's taking a group of people that can can hold the ark on their shoulders and they're walking across Jordan on dry ground. But listen when it is for the Jordan overflowth all his banks all the time of harvest. So what this tells me is that overflow happens in times of harvest. Overflow takes place when it's time to harvest something in the field. And I've come to speak a word to the good people of First Apostolic Church. And I feel this through faith tonight because of your obedience. And because we can obviously see we keep the Sabbath here. Because you've kept the laws and the statutes that God has given you. Because you've obeyed Joshua and the word that pastor God has given the pastor carpenter. Because of keeping holiness and righteous living, I've come with a word of faith tonight. I hear the sound of abundance of rain. I hear blessings on the way. I hear favor on the way. I hear an overflow. And it's an overflow of of prodals returning home. I hear an overflow of healing that's about to take place. And it's all in the presence of my enemies. It's all why God is driving out land an enemy from a land that is ours. I've come to tell you all you got to do is obey God, keep his statutes, and keep his commandments, and the favor of God will find your life. I know, I know, I know, I know. I hear in the back of my mind, you're preaching a prosperity gospel, but I'm not going to let a bunch of money grabbing preachers rob us of blessings that God has for his people. I'm not going to let someone who twist it and try to perverts it for the personal gain from robbing a group of people that keeps the statutes that keeps the law that keeps holiness that keeps the Sundays going and the Sundays thriving. I hear the sound of abundance of rain. It might not be monetary. It might be my children coming home. It might be my marriage having better favor. It might be on my job site. I might find favor through obedience. We might find favor with the people of Blank County. And it sounds like we are first place church, first place pastor, first place daycare, first place school. You know what that is? That's favor. That's favor. And the moment we think that we've done it, we are of all men most miserable. Well, we've honored God. We've honored the statutes. We've honored the law. We've kept the Sabbath day. And God's saying, "It's time for an overflow. It's time for God's people to have an overflow of goodness in their life." You're good people. And I know I might seem angry tonight. I'm not. I'm trying to tell you, you're good people. You're God's very best. And it's time. I feel a word of faith for God's people tonight. It's time for his people to have favor. It's time for his people to have an overflow of what they need. Come on. If you receive that tonight, would you rejoice in the Lord right now? If you receive that right now, if you want an overflowing life, it'd be a good idea to receive that word right now. Come on. I see you, moms and dads. You've honored God in your family. And God's about to make an overflow, an overflow in your life. Deuteronomy 28 verse number one. It shall come to pass if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth. I know this is talking about the nation of Israel, but it's talking about God's people. And we are we are spiritual Jews. So we could take this promise for us that God will set thee on a high above all nations of the earth. Verse number two, and all these blessings shall come on thee. I speak this over a weary family that has been faithful to God for many, many years, longer than I've been alive. I speak this over a family tonight. and all the blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee. That's the kind of God we serve. Heather Condre, I speak that over you right now. You've obeyed God. You've obeyed the statutes. You've turned your life around. And the blessings of God are Heather going to come upon you and they're going to be so much they overtake you. They're going to go to Chad. They're going to go to Eevee. They're going to go to Jacob. They're going to go to Parker. What happened? She's obedient. She's honored God in the statutes. She's honored God in the highways and the B. She's honored God every facet in her life. God can't help but to just to bless obedient people. God can't help but bless faithful people. I speak that over someone tonight in the name of Jesus Christ. I feel the Lord right now. I feel the Holy Ghost trying to bless someone right now. I'm not going to let prosperity gospel rob someone of a blessing tonight. God is going to bless you and that blessing is going to be so much that it overtakes you if thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Lord. Mother, I feel that word for this church tonight because you've been obedient, good people, through the storms of life because you've been obedient through trials and tribulations. There's going to be blessings to come and those blessings are going to overtake you. What's that going to tell us? There's not room enough to receive what God is going to bless this church with. And I just h I I I'm definitely not a prophet. Sometimes I dabble in common sense. I don't know why you're laughing. My sisters would definitely argue that's not the case. I'm not a prophet tonight, but I do dabble in common sense sometimes. 25% of the times there's not room enough to receive what God has for us in this sanctuary because of faithfulness, because of good preaching of God's holy word, there's not enough room on these pews. What you talking about somebody going to give a million dollars? No, much more than that. There's going to be souls added to this church. This sanctuary is not big enough. And let me preach a little bit of faith tonight. This sanctuary is not big enough for the blessing. It's going to bless us, but it's going to overtake us. I speak to those walls. And it's time for those walls to come down. It's time to put risers. Why? The blessings are on the way. The people are on the way because of obedience. If you hearken to the word of the Lord, if you hearken to what his word says and how to live, blessings will it will come. Here's what the overflow does. You may be seated. The overflow begins to flow. And what happens is it brings everything that's not a blessing to the top. Again, there's nothing wrong with the supply, but it matters about the vessel. There's nothing wrong with what God God's good supply of oil has been overflowing for 2,000 years. And he's looked for groups of people to fill it in. And tonight, if we can become a vessel, this is what happens when the blessings start to flow. It brings things that are not important to the top. I thought I was preaching a kids quest tonight, so I had to bring something had to bring something front. When we have the blessings of God begin to flow, it brings everything that does not matter to the top. It brings pride to the top. It brings selfishness to the top. But the moment we don't remove the things that God wants us to to remove, it stops the overflowing from happening. Here's here another another scripture for you. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now, which sayaeth the Lord of hosts, if I will not open up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there is not room enough to receive it. All right, we have the blessings flowing. But here's what tithing and offering does. Tithing and offering opens up the windows of heaven. And what happens with tithing and offering is God might reveal to you the reasons why you're not blessed, the reasons why you can't make it. That's what tithing does. I know tithing opens up the windows of heaven, but God might reveal to you the reason why you're broke is you have season tickets for every sporting event this side of the the Mississippi. That's why you're broke. That's why you're broke. That you buy every latest and greatest. And to hear the wild, God's trying to pour out blessings, but your video games get in the way. The golf clubs are getting in the way. All those things. Yeah, if we knock them out, we'll have an overflow. What I'm trying to tell us tonight, God brings everything to the top. That doesn't matter. When the blessings start to flow, everything rises to the top. And this this scripture when it says, "I will open you up the windows of heaven." This is not a little bathroom window. And I'm really confused why they put windows in a bathroom. That's really weird to begin with. Then things are like this big. All right, that's not a window God's talking about. All right, this same Hebrew word for window here when it talks about tithing and offerings is the same word in Genesis 7:11 when it says the windows of heaven were opened up and God be to flood the earth. So, we're not talking about a little window that God's just going to dribble out blessings to his people if you begin to tithe. No, no, no. The same word for window here is the same word for a floodgate. So, let me read that again. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house and prove me now with herewith, sayeth the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the floodgates of heaven, and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it. If you want to serve a window God, go ahead. But I serve a floodgate God. I serve a God that will open up the w I feel faith preaching about tithing and offerings. I feel faith preaching about something. If you obey God, God will open up the floodgates. Everything in your life will be running over if you honor God and obey. Obey God. Hallelujah. Tonight, if you receive that, would you clap your hands in this place this evening? All the things that don't matter come to the top. All the things that are not important will come to the top when God begins to pour something out. When you're baptized in Jesus name, Songs of Solomon tells us, "Because of the savor of thy good ointments, thy name is as ointment poured forth." Solomon don't even know the name, but he's talking about the name. He'll even have a revelation of Jesus' name, but he's telling us it's like oil poured forth. When you are baptized in Jesus' name, when you're baptized in Jesus' name, the miraculous supply of his name begins to be poured out. And the Bible says that it reveals it does some things to us. It does some things to us. The Bible says that there's remission of sins. There's a removal of something when I'm baptized in Jesus name. Something powerful happens when I'm baptized. All the things rise to the top. I have remission of sins. Here's what the Bible says. Every sin that you've committed is brought to the top and removed because his name is like oil poured forth. The remission of sins. But I love I love this point about this scripture. This is probably the most misqued verse in all the in all the the the the word of God that we say and the remission of your sins. Don't sell the word of God short. It's remission of sins. So it tells me is when I am baptized in Jesus' name, I can remove God removes my sins. But when I'm baptized in Jesus' name, the sins that have been committed towards me rises to the top and is removed. I don't know about you, but that makes somebody feel good in this house. That you can go through life and terrible things have happened to you. Uh things that you can't even describe. You feel embarrassed. you feel ashamed to even speak the evil deeds that have been done to you. But when you're baptized in Jesus name, those sins that were committed towards you are also removed because it's remission of sins. If you were abused as a a child, the best thing you can do is be baptized in Jesus' name because those scars of of shame and and all those things are removed when I'm baptized in Jesus' name. But also, if it's an oil that's been poured forth, this last little ball right here is something I want to preach on for just a moment. Let's get this to the top. This last ball right here represents thoughts that are not pleasing unto God. Oh, what thoughts you having about the about things of this world living? And I love Pastor Carpenter and this is let's take a side note for a second. You were mentioning the prodical son tonight or today. You were talking about drinking and and being with prostitutes and you were talking about feeding pigs. Brother Mitchell Hyde said, "Is it a sin to feed pigs?" I said, "Well," said maybe. So, I'll let y'all deal with that after church. But the Bible says, the Bible says that God gives us a name that's above every name. that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of things above the earth, in the earth, and under the earth. What I'm trying to tell you tonight is if you have thoughts that are not pleasing to God, thoughts of depression, which are simply Satan's way of telling you that you're that you're not good in God's eyes, that's what depression is. Those are thoughts that are not of God's will. So, what I want to tell you tonight is there's a ball that's come to the surface of your life and it's come to the surface tonight. And those are thoughts of anxiety, thoughts of fear, the whatifs, the worst case scenarios in my life. Those thoughts are not God's will. And God has given you a name that's above every name. And that you have a name. Everything under the earth, which is demonic activity, has to bow to. So, what I'm trying to tell you tonight is when you're baptized in Jesus' name, he gives you power over those thoughts. If you want to have an overflowing life, you need to speak the name of Jesus over those thoughts of anxiety. Speak the name of Jesus over those thoughts of depression, speak the name because it does not belong in an overflowing life. Thoughts of be you not being good enough. That you weren't created in his image. I bind those thoughts in the name of Jesus Christ. It's your name. Why don't you use it? I'm trying to tell you, it's your name. Why don't you invoke it? Because at the name of Jesus, I take I take authority over every devil in hell that tries to come against me and my family. Why you doing that? I want to live an overflowing life. It's come to the top and I want to take something out that robs me of that overflowing life. Amen. These are thoughts that can happen. It brings things to the top in the moment. We don't remove these things. It stops the overflow from happening. Some of you are this close to victory. But there's just some things you got to deal with tonight. You might find out you already have the power to deal with those things. You've tried to search every which way. But I want to tell you, God shall supply all your need according to his riches and glory. And I want to tell you, over on glory land, God has a a a thousand cattle on a hill. His his streets are paved with gold. So God's not short of supply, but he wants to fulfill your need tonight. Musicians, come this evening. We're going to come to a close here in just a few moments. The Bible says that Jesus left Judea and departed again into Galilee. The Bible says that Jesus said to one of his disciples, maybe mention it, but the mission was very imperative. It it was it was important. The Bible says that he must needs go through Samaria. What's in Samaria? Sister Als, what what great things in Sam Samaria that Jesus feels like he's got to stop by? What great orator is in Samar Samaria that Jesus feels like he needs to stop by? What great politicians there that Jesus wants to gain some whatever with some favor with and he needs to stop by and see something in Samaria. What great person of fame, God robed in flesh, feels like he needs to go by Samaria of all places to go visit someone. None of those things, none of those people of fame, none of those people of favor in governments or anything like that. But in verse seven, there cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith unto her, give me to drink. Verse nine. Then saith the woman of Samaria, how is it thou being a Jew askketh me to drink, which is a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. And Jesus said, "If thou kneest the gift of God, and who has said to thee, give me to drink, thou would have asked of him, and he would give thee living water." Sir, you have nothing to draw with. What What are you talking about living water? It's well so deep you can't reach it with your hands. You have no way of giving me water, let alone living water. Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us this well, and drank thereof himself as children's cattle? Jesus answered and said unto her, "Whosoever drinkketh of this water shall thirst again. But whosoever drinkketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst. But the water that I shall give him shall be in a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman says in in and excuse me for my reading of this whole passage, "Sir, give me this water that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw." And Jesus said unto her, "Go call your husband. Go tell your husband. It's not good for a rabbi to talk to a woman in public, let alone a woman by herself. Go talk to your Go talk to your husband. That's the problem. I have no husband. Yeah, you're one of those. Yeah, you you've said, "Well, for thou hast five husbands, and whom thou now hast is not thy husband?" You've really said something true. The woman saith unto him, "Sir, I perceive you're a prophet." What happened that day is she came in contact with the one that could give living water. Talking about an overflowing life. She had issues and things in her life, but she came in contact with the source of all life. And what happened in that conversation is the water began to flow. It intrigued her. It intrigued her by this man is nobody's around and he shouldn't be here and it's a certain time of the day and I maybe shouldn't be here and but this man has intrigued me but now he's telling me all the things which I've done. What I want to tell somebody is when you come in contact with the living water tonight during the preaching, sin may rise to the surface. She's having a spiritual conversation with with Jesus. And Jesus, yeah, now I've got everything to the top. Let me call out the things on top. Now I've got everything flowing in your life. I've got a conversation of spiritual things. But if you want that water to keep flowing, go call your husband. Go call your husband. Oh, you've got no husband. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. You've said, "Well, you've got five and the one you're with is not your own. Let's take out another one." Oh, sir, I perceive you're a prophet. You You need to perceive you're a sinner. All right. You I perceive you know all things. And Jesus is saying, "Yeah, I perceived you're a sinner when I walked up being all knowing, but I still want to have a conversation with you." I knew you had things in your life, but I wanted this woman to live an overflowing life. And I want to tell someone tonight in this altar here in a few moments, you might have things rise to the surface. You're going to feel like you're unworthy. You're going to feel you're going to think of every reason that God does not want to have you living an overflowing life. And I want to tell you, those thoughts that rise to the surface are on purpose. Because when they rise to the surface, we can deal with it. The worst thing you could do is try to pack everything down and try to hide everything, every reason you don't feel worthy, every reason you feel like God wouldn't want to flow in your life. And you keep those things down, you won't have something to flow. But when you let those sins come to to the forefront of your mind, and you begin to ask, "God, forgive me of all my sins. God, I know I'm unworthy. I'm unworthy. And when you feel unworthy, those things in your life are being removed and the overflow can begin to happen. So, if you would stand with me all across this house, maybe I've I've pe I've I've touched your curiosity tonight with this gift that has been woven throughout this service. The gift of God. Maybe that was the first drips of the water that you felt move. Maybe you're curious about these are all things that happened in this story. Jesus piqu her curiosity when she says, "If if you knew the gift of God, you'd ask me for something different." Or maybe you come to this church tonight, you begin to feel the drips of of of what doctrine we preach of as far as who Jesus is. that God was manifested in the flesh. Maybe that piqu your curiosity and that's the reason you're here tonight. That's also what piqu her curiosity with the woman at the well. Maybe your curiosity was peaked tonight when I begin to preach to you that God can give you a water of living water, something that flows from you. Maybe that was the first drips of God that you felt. Maybe it was the first drips of hope that I preached to you that blessings could be in your life, that you have that hope of of a better life, of an overflowing life. Whatever it is, it's brought this to the surface. It's brought the reasons you can't be blessed to the surface. It's brought the reasons that God can't fill you with the Holy Ghost. It's brought it to the surface. So, I want to tell you tonight is that God has something for you tonight. Whatever you need is in this house. There are two types of water on that day. There was temporal water and there was eternal water. There was a temporal source or there was an eternal source. A water that you could drink from that day and you will be thirsty again. But there was also a water there that day that you will never thirst again. Brother Nolan, what what are you trying to tell me right now? If you've come tonight, you just worshiped and you just worshiped through the singing, that's temporal. If you felt that water and felt that source of life through the worship, that's temporal. And if you felt God on the outside, that's temporal. But when you have God on the inside, that's eternal. So I want to tell somebody tonight, there is a living water that wants to flow. The Bible says, "He that believeth on me, he that obeys me." The scripture has said, "Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." But this spake he of the spirit which they had not they that believed on him should receive, for the Holy Ghost was not yet given. Tonight, every head bow, every eyes closed. I feel the Lord in this house. Just so if you would be so kind, if you'd be so kind to be transparent. I've preached on the Holy Ghost tonight a little bit, the rivers of living water that we're going to focus on tonight. If you would be so kind, if you've never received the gift of the Holy Ghost, and it's going to take it's going to take some calling out because that's exactly what Jesus did in that day. But it wasn't out of it wasn't out of judgment. It was not out of hate. It was out of love. because I want you to have the rivers of living water that will satisfy your thirsty soul. If you've never received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, if you would raise your hand, if you'd raise your hand in this house tonight, no one's looking around right now. It's pastor and and a few other altar workers right now. If you've never received the gift of the Holy Ghost right now, if you've never received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, if you'd raise your hand right now. Come on. God's bringing it to the top. That's very good. That's very good. I see you, brother. I see you, sister. I I see you right now. I want to tell you, there's a gift called the Holy Ghost that God wants to give you. Now, if you would, if you would, if you would step out of your pew, and I know this, this might be an area of uncomfort. I promise you, God's not going to embarrass you. I promise you, God's intentions were not to embarrass the woman at the well. God's intentions was to fill the woman at the well with the water that will satisfy every thirsty soul with the water of the Holy Ghost. So, I ask you to come and I promise you, when you get out of that pew, you will not be alone. Somebody's going to be right beside you. A member of this church is going to be right beside you. Come on, church. Begin to pray right now if you would. Come on, God. Stirring up the the courage right now in someone's life to come forward. Come on. That's it. That's it. That's it. You're not going to come alone. You're not going to come alone. I promise you. I promise you. Once you take one step out of the aisle, there's going to be a man or a woman that walks with you down to the altar. It's beautiful. It's already happening right here. Come on. That's it. The Holy Ghost is here. I know you've tried temporal things. You've tried temporal things. You've tried prayers that just satisfied you temporary. You tried believing on God and that just satisfied your emotions temporary. But God wants to give you something that's eternal tonight. Come on, church. Help me pray right now. Come on. There's a few more. I I had you raise your hand. I know who you are. Come on. Muster up the faith. Let that faith rise from within you. Come on. Let that faith rise from within you to get out of your seat and come to the altar. I promise you, you will not be alone. I promise you, you will not be by yourself. That's good. That's very good. Come on. That's it. That's it. That's it. Church family, would you join me in the altar right now? Church family, would you join me on this Pentecost Sunday in the altar if you just help me pray for just a moment? God's going to lead us right now. God's going to lead us right now. My God shall supply all your needs. If you need the Holy Ghost, God is a good father. He wants to give it to you tonight. Jesus. Come on. If you're thinking of every reason you shouldn't come to the altar tonight, God's just bringing it to the top so you can remove it. Every reason you shouldn't be able to come of every sin, every wrongdoing, you don't know enough about the scripture. Well, that woman at the the well didn't know enough about the scripture, but God still gave her a revelation of who he was. Come on, that's it. Come on, that's it. I feel the Holy Ghost in this place. What's that? I feel that's rivers of living water that's stirring from within you. Out of your mouth shall flow that riv living water. That's it, church. I feel you right now. Come on. I feel you. God's doing something in this room. God, give us wisdom, Lord, right now. God, give Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Hallelujah. Church, if you would, if altar workers, if you would, if they're really close to the Holy Ghost, let them keep praying. I don't want to interrupt. I don't dare want to step inside of what God's doing right now. But I want to lead you in this altar service from the person that's never received the Holy Ghost all the way to the person who's had the Holy Ghost since you were five or six years old. All right. It'd be a good idea for us all to be rebaptized with the Holy Ghost tonight. Wouldn't you wouldn't you agree with that? Right now, right now, if you would, God's brought some things to the top. And what we're going to do as a church body is repent. All right? And what repentance is is what repentance is is removing anything that you would stand would stand in the way of God. Maybe it's a priority that's out of whack. Or maybe it's a thought that you thought that would stand in the way of God's moving in your life. As a church body, we are all going to repent. And it's as simple as saying, "God, I'm gonna try my best to never do it again." It's what repentance truly is. You don't have to prove it to God. You don't have to be on a probation period with God for repentance. That's not how it works. You're just saying, "God, forgive me of all my sins." Could we do that as a church body? All right. We're going to ask God to forgive us. We're going to take the things on the top and we're going to remove them for God to flow. We're going to remove sin out of our life. God, if there be anything within me that you're not pleased with, God, I ask you to forgive me. God, if I've thought a thought that's not pleasing unto you, I ask you to forgive me. Lord, I ask you to wash me thoroughly, Lord, for I recognize my wrongdoing. My sin is ever for thee, and thee only have I sinned, done this evil in thy sight, God, I ask you to forgive me for not being a good father to Magnolia. God, I ask you to forgive me for not being the best husband and the of the flannery. God, I ask you to forgive me. Lord, I ask you, God, for put I've ask for forgiveness for putting things before you, Father. My priorities have caused me to sin, God. And I ask you to forgive me, God. I'm going to try my best to be a better person, a better man. But God, that's where the Holy Ghost steps in. That's where the Holy Ghost steps in. That's where you give me power to become a better man. That's where you give me power to be overcomer of sin. You give me a power called the Holy Ghost. God, I thank you for forgiveness right now. Let's clap our hands right now for forgiveness and repentance. Father, I thank you, Jesus. All right, repentance. What's just happened? All the things at the top have been removed. Now we have allowed God to flow in an overflowing way in praying for the Holy Ghost. And if you're struggling praying for the Holy Ghost or maybe you're close, if you're close, keep praying. But the Bible says that God will take over our tongue. Basically our tongue is a window into our heart. When the Bible changes our when God changes our heart, the Bible says that the most unruly member of the body begins to speak something that it's never spoken before. You will not get stumbled over your words. You will not slip your way into the Holy Ghost. But something happens out of your heart and it comes out of your mouth. And the Bible says, "You shall speak with new tongues when you receive the Holy Ghost." I taught this a few Wednesday nights ago. I feel the Lord is is encouraging me right now to tell you again in praying for the Holy Ghost. We've repented, but God requires a few things. God wants our hands to be raised, our mouth to be open, and our voice to be raised. Those three things, very simple. hands, our head, and our voice to be raised to God. What do I say to God? You tell God exactly what would make him feel good. Whatever you deem him worthy of, tell him that tonight. If God's been good to you, go ahead and begin to speak that out. That's praise and worship. Come on, church, right now. Could we lift our voice? Could we have Pentecost take place in this room? Begin to tell God how good he is. I know you feel unworthy. That's the point of praying to God. I know you feel like you're not good enough. Come on, that's it. I love you, Jesus. I need you, Jesus. Oh, God. I need you, Lord. Come on, that's it. I feel the Holy Ghost stirring up in this room. Come on, begin to tell God what you think, but make him feel good tonight. Begin to tell him. Look back over your life and realize what he's brought you from. Realize what he's kept you from. Realize what he's forgiven you for in the name of Jesus. Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost right now. It's a promise. It's a promise. It's a gift. God wants you to have it. I feel him right now in this room. Come on, lift your voice right now. Give your tongue to God. Allow him that to take over that tongue right now. Come on. If you're feeling the thoughts of this is foolish, I promise you, you are almost there. If Satan is talking in your ear, saying that you're about to make a fool of yourself, I promise you, you are almost there. Take that step of faith and begin to speak it. Take that step of faith and begin to yield your tongue. Give your tongue to God right now. Allow him to speak. Come on. As they begin to sing, as they begin to sing, let's lift our voices all across this house. Come on, lift your voice. I'm not gonna let a drum be louder than my voice right now. I'm not gonna let a piano be be louder than my voice right now. Come on. That's it. Come on. That's the Holy Ghost you feel. Come on. That's the Holy Ghost. Come on. That's the Holy Ghost you feel. Come on. You might feel your hands begin to tremble. That's not the evidence of the Holy Ghost. But if I could just get what's in my hands, in my tongue, that's the Holy Ghost. You're yielding your hands of the power of the Holy Ghost. Let that get in your tongue. Let that yielding get in your tongue. Come on, church. We got the Holy Ghost over here. We got one. Got the Holy Ghost over here. He's still flowing. He's still pouring it out. Come on. The flow of the Holy Ghost is just beginning. It's just beginning. It's just beginning. We're going to go right back into this song. If you're close to the Holy Ghost and you feel your hands begin to shake, you're doing good. It's a step. Let me tell you what's in your hands. It's just got to get in your tongue. If you begin to shake, and this is the easiest thing to do when you feel God, and I'm not discounting what you're feeling right now. I'm not belittling what you're feeling right now, but you've yielded your hands to God. But all you got to do is let that feeling get in your tongue. Yield your tongue to God. It's easy to yield my hands, but what's in my hands has got to get in my tongue. The tongue is the most unruly member of the body. This is your first test of giving something to God. If you're going to give your life to God, the first test is to give your tongue to God. So, what's in your hands? If you feel it all over your body, that's so good. Let that get in your tongue right now. Let that get in your tongue. One more time. We've repented. We've lift our hands. We've lift our head. We've lift our voices. Maybe you need to get your emotions involved and think about what God's done for you. I tell you a way that I get my emotions involved is I realize that God's been good to me. I look at my parents and it gets my emotions involved that God's been good to me. Lord, I think about how we've been raised and found. I think about how we've been raised and it just gets up and begins to stir because I feel so unworthy to be raised by people of the truth. And I'm not putting on a show to you tonight, but I just want to show you it's easy to get your emotions involved when you begin to think about what God's done for you. And a spirit of unworthiness comes. And if you feel unworthy for the Holy Ghost, that's the best feeling you can have because you're not worthy enough to have the Holy Ghost. You can't do enough good deeds to have the Holy Ghost when it's a spirit of unworthiness. Come on, begin to tell him what he's done in your life. Begin to tell God what he means to you right now. Yield your tongue to him right now. Yield it to him right now. Let's begin to worship and praise. Lift your voice all across this house. Come on, lift your voice right now. Church body, let's linger for just a moment in this altar. I tell you, the water cool and living water. Let me quench your thirst and set your spirit free. Come drink from the water. Cool and living water. You can be who you were always meant to be. You're just one step away from me for me. Don't drink from the water. Cool and living water. If you quit your thirst and set your spirit free drink from the water, cool and living water. You can be who you were always meant to be. We got just one step away from victory. That will wash away the oppression. Build an empty heart until it overgrows. There's a peace and there's a stillness. He is ready if you're willing. There's a love that's deeper than you ever know. There's a resting that will wash away depression heart. There's a reason he is ready. Come drink from the water and live in the water. Let me quench your thirst and set your spirit free. Come drink from the water. and living water. You can be who you were always meant to be. Just one step away when you Ever blessing way in the heart of this is no heat. Heat. Heat. He is ready.
