Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Casting the Vision

  • He gives honor to special guests seated with him, including a family whose son, his dear friend, has recently passed away, and jokes that after five minutes and three minutes he has one minute left.
  • His father asked him to cast his vision; God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and the church must not set a limit on what God can do in this house.

Manna, Quail, and the One Leper Back

  • The Israelites grew tired of the daily miracle of manna and murmured, questioning God's power to give meat; God answered with quail falling from the skies.
  • Of the ten lepers Jesus healed, nine went on; one, a Samaritan who could not be pronounced clean by the priest, came back and gave Jesus thanks.
  • The church must be thankful for what God has given in this house of worship that he is going to fill with souls.

The Name Is in This House

  • He quotes the ninth verse of 2 Chronicles 20: if evil comes — the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine — 'we will stand before this house and before you, for your name is in this house.'
  • Because the name is in this house, there is power here: when the name of Jesus is called on, healing comes forth, bondages break, and shackles are loosed.
  • At that name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord; he leads the congregation to stand and praise the name of Jesus.

Um, it is an honor to stand before you tonight. Um, I know brother Ericson said he went five minutes and brother Hammond said he was going to three. So, I guess I got a minute. So, better get this going pretty quick. Um, before I start, I I have a spe a couple special guests. Mr. and Mrs. Deng. Uh, I give you honor tonight. It's very good to see you. I'm glad you're here. There he is. Two favorite people right there. You may be seated. Thank you. Their son, [name redacted]. [name redacted] is just a talented kid. He wanted to play basketball, so he learned how to play basketball. And that kid just every day at school, he blows my mind. But he is a Bible quizzer. And he is a Bible quizzer. He's an awesome, awesome kid. An awesome kid. Some more special guests that I have tonight is brother and sister Martin. If you would stand, we'd like to give you honor. Uh if you would stand, thank you so much. It was a pleasure to see you. Thank you so much. Their son just recently passed away and he was a dear dear friend of mine. He was he's on vacation. Actually, their family's on vacation in Pigeon Forge and um he was going to come down and stay the night with me a couple nights. Who knows what we're going to get into, but we know he's in a better place now and that's for sure. I miss him very dearly. Um Dad asked me to cast my vision for these people for a few minutes. And I was like, "Dad, what what what does that mean?" I mean, he just he said, "Cast your vision." It's like, "Well, um, I'm going to cast my vision. Let's uh" I was like, "Well, I want to see us go out to eat. I mean, that's that sounds pretty good. Uh, let's do some church golf outings. That sounds even better." Um, but cast my vision. So I begin to think and it goes along with brother H what brother Hammond was saying that we do not need to set a limit on what God can do in this house. We don't need to we don't the spiritual world God's God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts. So we cannot set what we think can happen in this place. Uh there's a story in the Bible that kind of intrigues me. Um, the Israelites began to murmur because they were tired of the miracle of mana that God was giving to them every day. They were tired of a miracle that God was giving. So, they begin to speak amongst themselves. They begin to murmur and talk amongst themselves and they were kind of getting tired. It even got Moses's attention. But the people were murmuring. They were unthankful. They were unthankful of what God had gave them. My mind goes to the 10 lepers. How he how Jesus healed the 10 lepers. The nine were thank I'm sure they were thankful that uh that God healed him. But one came back and gave Jesus thanks. He gave thanks and the Bible speaks that he was a Samaritan. Now Samaritans couldn't go see the high priest. How how how you would get cleansed of leprosy? How you would be pronounced cleansed was uh the priest would pronounce you had leprosy. But the priest was the only person that could pronounce you clean. And so that Samaritan was healed by Jesus, but he came back and gave Jesus thanks. So we must be thankful for what God has given us in this beautiful house of worship that he's going to fill with souls. But back to the Israelites, they were wanting some type of meat. So they be they murmured and they began asking question on God's power. So they were saying we don't know how he can do this but we want some type of meat. So God chose the most unusual way to to provide meat. Quell fell from the skies. God answered what the people doubted. This is why we do not need to set a limit on what God can do here. 2 Chronicles 20:9 says, "If evil comes on us, the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before you." And this little phrase right here, for your name is in this house because the name is in this house. There is there is power in this house. Anything can happen because the name is here. When we call on that name, healing can come forth. When we call on that name, shackles can be bind. Can I have some help tonight? that whoever's been healed that we could call on that name. We cast that name of Jesus on someone's life. Healing can come forth, bondages can break, shackles can be loosed, but at that name, every knee is going to bow and every tongue is going to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The name is in this house. Go ahead, stand with me right now. Let's let's praise the name of Jesus. Come on, let's praise the name of Jesus tonight. Let's worship the name of Jesus tonight. Say his name with me, Jesus. Say his name with me, Jesus. There's healing in that name. There's salvation in that name. There's deliverance. Come on, let's praise him right now. Oh, let's praise him right now. When over billions of people don't even know the name of Jesus, come on, let's shout that name right now. Oh, let's praise that wonderful name. Oh, there's power. Do you need something from God tonight? You can get it in the name of Jesus. You can get that in the name of Jesus tonight.
