What you See Affects what you Hear | Kids Quest Pastor Nolan Carpenter

as we transition to the preaching of the word of God would you greet someone around you tell them it's good to see them in the house of the Lord this evening what a great crowd we see here tonight on this last Sunday night of fall break do I have any parents that are excited to get back in the school session and then get ready to send your kids both slinker I see you Clapping Your Hands over there and uh do I have any parents excited about their kids going back to school amen amen do I have any kids excited about going back to school okay geez pop quizzes for all of you tomorrow amen amen but such a a tremendous uh crowd of people tonight that you would come to God's house on a Sunday night and uh I honor you great folks uh uh very greatly tonight that you would be here tonight just such a tremendous crowd on this fall break uh some special guests here tonight the odman the odman family all the way from out west we give them high honor can we give our guest to beig a round of applause tonight amen we love the odans and I I hope to spend some time with them this this week maybe on a maybe on a golf course one of the with some of the brothers huh feel a little nodding right there I like that I like that and of course we've got some special special guests here tonight my my wonderful mother-in-law and father-in-law and even sister-in-law one of them are here and I love them I love them very uh very much they are uh God's very best and um something flew in my eye just a moment ago it was really really awkward um um brother I remember brother Ammons one time just so just like a gentleman he he began to get emotional about something he's like sorry I've got something in my eyee and that's the best excuse I can come up with here but kind of the the highest title that I could give them is just good people and that's a um that's the highest title I can even my father-in-law he's just a he's a good person and I give them give them tremendous honor tonight thank you for coming hear me preach seven and a half hours just to hear me preach and it has nothing to do with the obvious tonight but give them give them honor this evening John 12: 27 through 29 I hope to help us tonight that the Lord would speak through his word this evening John 12 and verse 27 says now is my soul troubled and what shall I say father save me from this hour but for this cause came I unto this hour father glorify thy name and then there came a voice from Heaven saying I have both glorified it and will glorify it again the people thereof that stood by heard it said that it thundered and others said an angel spake to him two groups of people heard the same thing and got two different outcomes from the same voice one said it thundered and other said an angel spake to him I'll break a a Unwritten rule about preaching tonight this is not at all uh this is it goes along the lines of what we're going to preach about tonight but we won't refer back to this text tonight but maybe under the sound of my voice this evening there's been a group of people that during the worship some have just said man it's thundering outside or maybe there's another group of people here that's saying God is speaking in this place tonight and I want to be a part of the group that's saying God is speaking and God's going to speak to us tonight I don't want to be the the group of people just say man there's a storm outside but I want to be a part of the group of people that said God can speak and God is speaking this evening I want to preach to us for just a few short moments on what you see affects what you hear what you see see affects what you hear if you put your Bibles down you lift your voice to Heaven ask God to help us this evening let's ask God this his anointing would be in this house tonight God we thank you for this day thank you for the opportunity God to come in your house and to give you worship and give you glory and give you honor God here in the next few moments I pray that you'd anoint my mind God your word is already anointed help me to preach to these great people tonight God help us to get the right view of God our situations and help us to get a right view of Who You Are God because I believe this evening God if we can get the right view of Who You Are God things would begin to happen and things would begin to change God if we can just adjust our view Lord God of what you want to do tonight God I believe you're going to speak God I don't want to be a part of the crowd that says it's thundering outside but I want to be a part of the small group that has the right view God that's saying you're speaking tonight God if I can tune my ears tonight God I can hear you speak speak and God we do everything in your name in Jesus name someone say in Jesus name and before you're seated would you clap your hands all across this house tonight hallelujah hallelujah you may be seated the fear of the Lord tonight what you see affects what you hear many years ago there were certain trends that went through social media that would absolutely split opinions of different groups of people matter of fact names would be called and and feelings would be hurt all because a recording that was played two different uh things were heard from one certain sound one of these things it's a it was a Hot Topic you couldn't go through any social media site with without seeing this trend one was Laurel versus yany do I have any young people who know what I'm talking about all right all four of you I'm glad I'm preaching tonight H all four of you tonight Laurel versus yany it was a it was a recording that was playing a certain word and people were convinced that they would hear this certain sound they would hear this certain word and then people would listen to the exact same recording and would swear they hear or heard something different matter of fact this is called this is not just some Trend that went through social media there's a scientific name for this it's called the murk effect the murk effect is that a certain noise can be played in what you are viewing determines exactly what you hear exactly what you here all comes from how you view a certain thing or a certain picture matter of fact this would go on not just auditory but visual there would be a a blue and a gold dress you might know the blue and the gold dress I'm talking about people would swear this is blue you're crazy you've lost your mind now and I'll tell you in the Laurel versus yany if you hear anything other than in two words there is something wrong with you all right you're here and uh we we did this Wednesday night and with the high schoolers and I said let's Close Our Eyes in this we can hear Chick-fil-A I said it played the sound I said did any of you hear Chick-fil-A and some of them wrote I'm like you're such a liar there's no way there's no way but this is actually very scientific this is uh uh this there's a reason that you could hear the same recording and get two different outcomes matter of fact I've got they're going to play a video for you tonight and I want there's two different words you're going toar you're either going to hear brainstorm or you're going to hear green needle all right I want you just listen to this you can close your eyes you want to I don't care I just want to hear Let me know what you hear in this recording you either have brainstorm or green needle if you hear anything else then we we'll we'll talk to you after service we'll get you some help all right and so they're going to play this on the screen I want us to if if you hear green needle I want you to raise your hand if you hear brainstorm I want you to raise your hand all right let's do this you heard green you can stop that if you heard green needle I want you to raise your hand all right if you heard brainstorm I want you to raise your hand all right there's about 15 save folks and I'm in your group all right but we're going to do the same thing but now I want you to focus on this screen I want you to focus on this screen on the left up here you focus on the word green needle and turn it up real loud so I can hear it I want you to turn up if you can hear green needle I want you to raise your hand focus on that just dis disregard the word on the right you hear green needle what you doing want you raise your hand now same recording I want you to look to that picture brainstorm I want you to tell me if you can hear the word brainstorm just focus on that word right there focus on that word mom please mom's like you're wrong I only hear a green needle do I hear anybody or I see anybody hearing brainstorm all right we're getting just focus on it do it one more time just for the folks in the back just make sure they can hear it this is the worst sermon example ever cuz half the crowd we do I have anybody that your opinion has changed based on what you're seeing no oh Lord help me Jesus anybody please my mother-in-law is Raising her hand cuz she feels sorry for me anybody anybody brother Akens thank you brother Akens I appreciate you so what this is is called the mcer effect based on what you see it m it determines what you hear based on what you're looking at determines what goes into your ears and how your mind perceives what you are saying and that if your opinion did not change maybe I'll play it for you afterwards and I'll beg you to for you to make me feel a little bit better but I believe that 99% of conflict 99% of conflict can be solved with how we view certain things I believe 99% we hear things a matter of fact let's just go an example that we all we all can uh uh agree with somebody walks up to you and says hey I noticed you've lost a few pounds are you saying that I was Heavy before well that's one way to view it or the the real the nice way to view it is man that person's being really nice and so 99% of conflict can be solved with how can be solved with changing how we view a c certain situation this is not just something they've come up with here recently this happened in the scripture that there were a group of people that were standing there and they had the wrong View and they just heard that it thundered but there was a group of people that had the right view of what was going on they had the right view of who Jesus was and what he was doing and they said I heard an angel I Heard a Voice from God speak this is how powerful your perception is number one you perceive it and how you perceive it will determine how you receive it and how you receive it will determine how you understand it and how you understand it will determine how you retain it and how you retain it will determine how you apply it and how you apply it determines how you live so I want to tell us tonight that it's important on how we perceive things it's important how we view things you can view this preaching as not important and I'll tell you you'll just get a bunch of Thunder out of the next few moments but if you need something in your life tonight and you can believe and you have the right view of God's word you're going to say that we're hearing the voice of God not through some man but you have the right view of God's word that when this thing is opened up that your life can be changed there might be some that just say this is a bunch of noise this is a bunch of time this is just a bunch of customs and that's one way to view it and you'll get nothing out of it but if you view when someone opens up the word of God you're going to be hear you're going to begin to hear God begin to speak You're Going to Hear lives being changed it's all how you view it is how you live it how can you be there on one day and hear the audible voice of God an angel speaking from Heaven hearing him glor he's saying I've glorified and will glorify it again but then some people say it just thundered I believe tonight if we can get our view to change on certain situations then healing can come I believe tonight if we can view it how God wants us to view it maybe not God doing a notable Miracle tonight I would love for that to happen but if we can just change our views on some circumstances and situations that we're going through then we'll begin to hear things a little different we'll begin to view things a little bit different tonight maybe you've got some conflict with people across the aisle in the church maybe you need to view them how God views them and maybe you'll begin to hear some different things from that person across the aisle it's all how you view it there was a woman that this woman came to the well for a drink of water and this would be be the day that her life would be changed when she comes in John chap 4 there cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water Jesus said unto her give me the drink for his disciples were gone away into the city to buy meat then saith the woman of Samaria unto him how is it that thou being a Jew ask drink of me which am a woman of Samaria you got to realize that this woman viewed the the the Messiah Jesus Christ is just a Jew you Jews don't have any dealings with us people from Samaria we don't have any dealings with us that's one way to view him but if this woman will just change how she viewed the Christ that will determine what she received from the Christ and then as this story goes on Pastor preaches this story so beautiful about how her her her titles of who Jesus was began to change she she she viewed him as a Jew and and how God you Jesus you don't you won't have any dealings with me for I am a woman of Samaria and then she changes her view upon him to Sir had a little bit of respect for him but then Jesus says well go call your husband and she says well uh uh I have no husband and Jesus said that to to to her yeah you have said right you have no husband you've got five husbands and the one you're with now is not your own then the woman we've went from Jud to Sir now we've got sir I perceive thou art a prophet her view began to change our fathers worshiped in in this mountain and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship Jesus said to her woman believe me the hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain nor yet at Jerusalem worship the father ye worship you know not what we know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews but the hour cometh and now is that the true worshippers shall worship the father in spirit and in truth for the father seeketh such to worship him God is a spirit one of the most powerful revelations in scripture God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth and the woman said to him I know that messiah's cometh which is called Christ when he is come he will tell us all the things and Jesus said to her I that speak unto thee am he this woman in the process of this conversation had her view change of who Jesus Christ was it started from a Jew that you you don't know you don't know who I am I'm a Samaritan you Jews are way too good for us well that's how you want to view Christ that's that's all you're going to get from him but if your view will begin to change of who he is you will receive the thing you've been looking for all your life you've been looking for the Messiah and if you can view him in the right manner you'll receive the greatest Revelation that Messiah is here to help you the Messiah is here to save you I know you feel like you're not good enough because you're a Samaritan but if that's the way you want to view God that's all you'll get from him but if you will view him as this is the savior the one that's come to save me from my sins the one I am he that's how I want to view him that's how I want to view him you might be in this place tonight and you might think I'm not good enough for God to do something with if you view him that way you won't get anything out of this tonight but if you begin to have your perspective and your your view change about who he is and what he's going to do for you I promise you tonight you'll get exactly what you need in this service she heard one of the greatest Revelations when she was willing to change how she how she saw Jesus many of us tonight when it comes to God calling us out of our sins and God calling us out for our sins that's when some of us shut down you imagine when this one woman the embarrassment that it caused her when Jesus looked to her and said woman you're telling me the truth you got five you got five that are no longer your husband the one you're with not even your own you imagine if her view was just judgmentalism that's all she would get from that conversation but she was so desperate and I want to tell somebody the cross is very controversial the cross is very controversial with with your flesh the cross is very controversial with the sin that we could be living in and if you want to hear judgment tonight from the preaching that's all you're get going to get out of the preaching but if you've come tonight desperate for a change in your life you have that view of whatever the word says that's what I'm going to do whatever the word says you can call me out for my sins but I can leave with living water flowing through my veins living water and when that woman had the right view of who he was she said I've been searching for Hope and I found the answer because I'm willing to change my view Hallelujah if you change your view tonight God is going to give you what you've been searching for she said at the end of that scripture at the end of that passage she said I've been searching for Christ I know that someday Messiah is coming which is called Christ and he will tell us all things I want to change someone's view tonight what you need is in this house what you need is in this church tonight but if you don't view the church in the right way you're not going to get anything out of the church if you don't view the church I'll tell you this I'll go as strong to say this if you view the church as optional you won't get anything out of the church if you view Services Sunday morning Sunday night and Wednesday night it's the same thing in scripture when people heard the voice of God they said it thundered right that was their view but some of them had the view that God was speaking and I know sometimes hurt can come in and change our view about church but I want to tell you don't let anything change your view on how you view the house of God you can't afford because the moment your view gets messed up the moment you stop hearing what God wants you to hear in the house of the Lord I've got the view that this house is what's going to save my soul I've got the view that this is the house that I found Mercy I've got the view that this is the place my life my life my life was changed well I just don't feel what I felt years ago the church hasn't changed the preaching hasn't changed the Holy Ghost hasn't changed the only thing that has changed is your view of God's preached word you imagine this conversation the Revelation she wouldn't have received is the moment Jesus called her out for her sins that that that that her view be to change about who he was that you're judgmental but it's the right view of preaching that will save us it's the right view of preaching determines what we get out of the preaching the Bible says about preaching for after that in the wisdom of of God the World by wisdom knew not God it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe so two two crowds tonight you can either hear that it's thundering or you can hear that the voice of God's speaking same noise same southern accent same yelling same spitting same all the above but you got one group of people at the end of tonight that says I found some hope because Jesus was willing to meet me where I was and you've got some people saying man it's thundering outside we better go get a rain coat on because we're about to get rained on no no no I'm in the house of the Lord tonight and I've got some people on the sound of my voice that we have the right view of preaching we have the right view of what God is saying this is not something we're checking off a list and if that's your way you want to view it you won't get anything out of it I've Got the Right View how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard and how shall they hear without a preacher I hate I'm holding the mic tonight but you need preaching in your life you need preaching and it's not just something that you want to hear that's not what preaching is preaching is someone that's going to prick you in the heart with the word of God he's not going to take this sword and begin to just cut you all to pieces but it's like a a medical tool that we can go in through the word of God and begin to cut out the cancer that's going to ruin your life it's the preaching of God's holy word that we need seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments well righteous judgments I view judgment as a bad thing in scripture Psalms calls it the righteous judgment great peace have they which love thy law the law is going to mess you up the law messed that woman that came to draw some water it messed her life up because she had a meeting place with her sin and the law but she had the right view of Jesus Christ nothing shall offend them great peace I just got something to say tonight that preaching is going to save us however much the world gets messed up we need preaching that much more I know people make fun and say you're listening a bunch of Thunder but not the Apostolic Church on the side of William but drive we believe that the voice of God is speaking will speak and will continue to speak that's our view of preaching I want to tell you what's going to save the world out of the pit of sin I know it's going to offend them but they need the word of God they need the right view of who he is and the right view of what he says to do don't let anything you may be seated don't let anything change how you view the house of God because how you view it determines what you receive from it I don't feel God anymore at the church well when you view this place as optional that's all you're going to hear when you view this place as this is just where my family goes sorry I I wish we could work some wish we had a Bible on fire tonight we could open it up and Flames would come out and get you all excited it's not here brother Jeremy Stafford poured too much lighter fluid on it last time I had to buy another one it was just it burnt me and it's terrible there it is you got to view the the the house of God in the right way you you've got to view the house of God in the right way well my kids don't respond in church well kids have seen churches optional all their life they might just think that my participation is optional as well we've got to have the right view of the house of God this is a place I know the church don't have any flaws it's people inside the church that have flaws and I don't want a view to ever get messed up up about the Church of the Living God because I've seen too many families get put back together in this church for my opinion of God's Church to change I've seen too many Sinners come to the Altar and find Mercy in a messed up world I've seen too many people get their lives get put back together because of the church my view is not going to change on the church and as long as my view don't change on the house of God as long as my view don't change what's going on inside the house of God I'll hear what God wants me to hear in Genesis Chapter 30 a very unusual happening begins to take place and and Jacob begins to come to his father-in-law and he says laan I father-in-law laan I need my my wages and it's time for me and my wives and my children to go and and laen you know been good to you because of you and this is in Genesis Chapter 30 the the previous verse before 25 he he says it's because of me that you're blessed it's because of God's blessings upon my life that you are blessed and what happens when he asked for laben to give him his wages he he says here here's what we can do I I found verse 27 I I I pray thee I found favor in thine eyes for I have learned by experience said the the Lord had blessed me for for thy sake this is Laban speaking to Jacob and he said Jacob says appoint me thy wages and I will give it I will give it and he said to him thou knowest how I have served thee and how thy cattle was with me for it was it was little which thou Hast uh had before I came and it is now increased in multitude and the Lord have blessed thee since my coming and now when shall I provide for my own house also and he said what shall I give thee now pay close attention and it took me about an hour to really understand what was happening in these next few uh these next few verses he says what shall I give thee and Jacob says Thou shalt not give me anything if thou will do this thing for me I will again feed and keep thy flock I will pass through all the flock today removing from then all the speckled and spotted cattle and all the brown cattle among the sheep and the spotted and Speck speckled among the goats and of such shall be my higher so shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come when it shall come for my higher before thy face everyone that is not speckled everyone that's plain and brown among the Sheep Thou shalt be counted stolen with me and laan said I know we we we'll break that down here in just a moment laan said said behold I would it might be according to Thy word and laan went around Jacob's plan and laan removed that day the he goats that were ring stri that means they were striped and spotted and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted everyone that had some white in it and all the brown among the sheep and gave them into the hands of his sons all right so what we just read was Jacob comes to his father-in-law and says all right I just need you to do one thing for me I want you to take all the the striped animals to save some time I want you to take all the striped animals and you you you separate you give them to me and then when you come back that you'll have all the ones you know I haven't stolen from you because all of them will be the same the the striped and the speckled animals were ones that were very valuable and so laan told one of his sons he says what I want you to do is I want you to get every speckled animal every striped animal I want you to remove it all the ones that are valuable I want you to remove it and go keep it somewhere else and so Jacob comes and to his surprise he wanted all the speckled animals he wanted all the striped animals and he looked and all he had was a bunch of plain colored nonv Val valed animals and you think about Jacob he's worked he's worked and he's worked for this moment he had to work for each of his wives and then when that wasn't enough he had to work for his his wages as well now Jacob could have viewed himself in this moment as a victim matter of fact if Jacob's honest he got exactly what he deserved that's the right view we ought to have of ourselves we can view ourselves as victims in this story or we can view ourselves as you know I've deceived a lot of people and you know the whole term of what goes around comes around is very true in this scenario Jacob's been deceiving all of his life and then laan comes around deceives him having the right view of yourself may help us in often times when you're done wrong maybe you can step back and you say well I can really judge that person or I can realize that I've done some people's wrong myself I've done I'm going to forgive laan rather than judge laan because I've done some PE that's the right view that we ought to have so Jacob takes in this story brother Hammond you you'll help me out here for just a moment in this story he takes a stick he takes sorry we'll vacuum up that later he takes a stick in verse number 37 he's got a bunch of plain animals he looks to those animals they're ugly they're plain colored they don't have any Speckles on them they don't have any stripes on them Jacob took him rods of green popler and of Hazel and chestnut tree and peeled white strakes in them and made the white appear which was in the rods what that simply means is is he took an almond Branch or a chestnut tree and a branch and begin to shave the bark off that tree he be to shave the things to where the white begin to show in the in the bark he be to show where the white was in uhh H was on the tree and and he began to take the the the the bark off so the white could appear and he set the rods which he had piled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink that they should conceive when they came to drink and the flocks listen to this the flocks conceived before the rods and brought forth a bunch of plain ugly plain colored cattle brought forth cattle which was striped ring strike which means striped speckled and spotted how does some group of cattle that are ugly plain colored produce something that speckled and spotted and striped here's what Jacob did I can't explain it but I know it's in the scripture so I know it's true he gathered a stick and he began to say if I want those cattle to appear that they have Speckles I've got to put something in their eye that they know they could be like and so when he put this he put it in where they drank food uh drank water he put this where they would eat food and he would put this where they conceived and as long as something that he wanted them to be was before their eyes they begin to produce some cattle that were speckled and spotted because they had something to look to and I want to tell us tonight that you've got to put something in your eye before your eye that you want to be if you want a successful marriage it would be a good idea to place some people in your mind and place some people that you want to be like if you want to be like some certain families in the church it'd be a good idea to have something in your eyesight that you want to be like because if you will view the speckled stick then you'll reproduce something that is speckled put before your eyes exactly what you want to be we put things and it it makes a whole new meaning to put no evil thing before your eyes and when Jacob put something before them animals he he would he would I know it's a it's a silly sermon illustration tonight but when he had something in front of their eyes they begin to look at something that was different than them and when they would come in and they would drink water they would look at something that was different than them and when they looked at that speckled and spotted piece of wood they begin to produce a speckled and striped Offspring I want to tell T I ask us what are we putting before our eyes what are we putting before our eyes kids put a bunch of things before their eyes and then they turn out to be just like the things that they put before their eyes and we're surprised they put it in their ears and we're surprised when they become of age they make different decisions why we've allowed them to put this before their eyes their entire life no wonder they turn out to be exactly what they're looking at but I want to put some people people in their life at the church some godly people in front of them and say Magnolia that's the goal right there you see that wh- headed saint of God that's the goal you see that woman that's worshiped the same for years and years that is the goal and God forbid we ever let a wrong situation determine the view of the saints of God we've got to keep him in our eyes that that's what we want to be but that's what if you wanted your family to be faithful it'd be a good idea to link up with some faithful people in the church and say I know you're a little different than me but I'm going to look down 20 years down the road and that's exactly what my family my family is going to be because whatever's before your eyes it's exactly what you're going to reproduce but buddy we were hurt years ago buddy we were we were wronged years ago I understand that but this stick is sometimes what we constantly have in front of our families sometimes we carry our offense on a stick we have this before their eyes it's it's the it's the underlying thing in every conversation it's the underlying thing in every decision that we make is just the Bible says one root singular of bitterness thereby many be defiled we have a stick it's speckled with hurt it's speckled with bitterness and then we're surprised that our church our our our kids don't want to participate in church because that's the place that the person hurt you at but I want to change the stick that we have in front of our eyes what about if we carried a stick of forgiveness what about if we had I know yeah Mom and Dad were done wrong I understand that but what if we had a stick of forgiveness that we constantly had I know that was hey I I know that I I I had painted that view of that person in your mind for far too long but we're going to change sticks tonight we're going to have the Stick of forgiveness that can bring healing and you'll be so surprised that days from now that you'll see some differences why you've got something different in front of their eyes you've had the wrong view in front of their eyes all their life but tonight you can change you can change what you have in front of their eyes and they'll begin to produce different things they'll begin to produce some speckled and spotted animals that are valuable and and got some value to them when you change when you change when you change what's in front of their eyes I feel this so strongly in my spirit tonight that we are so surprised we are producing the wrong thing when we've had the wrong thing in front of their eyes all their lives we we we're so surprised that kids don't respond in church when we've been carrying the Stick of being a non praising family for all their lives we have a stick we have a a a a an animal that produces non uh a church attendance don't see the value in it that's all they've been looking at all their lives but Jacob could have played the part of a victim but he knew that wasn't going to change anything but he just thought if I could produce if I could put something in front of their eyes that they would look at they would look at it when they drink they would look at it when they eat and it would produce that's what happened in this this passage of scripture that the flocks conceive before the rods and somehow bear ugly Brown animals produced cattle that were ring straight which means striped they produced speckled and spotted animals simply because Jacob was willing to put something different in front of their eyes so I want to ask us tonight what have we been placing in front of our kids' eyes what have we been placing in front of our fam's eyes eyes because what you have in front of their eyes will determine how they how they hear how what you have in front of their eyes as far as the word of God the preaching of the word the church itself will will determine how they hear what about how you view yourself Jacob surely could have looked at himself as a victim but reality of the the view of himself is what goes around comes around Jacob you've been deceiving people all your life and but he made his mind up that he would view himself as someone who could change the situation that he has been dealt the the hand that he has been dealt when he put something different before those cattle eyes it changed his circumstance we go earlier in scripture Genesis chapter 16 we are introduced to a a lady by the name of Hagar and Hagar is simply the result of somebody being faithful and obedient doing exactly what she's told and then some things happen that are very unfair and this is what happens with Hagar God speaks to Hagar when she's pregnant and says the angel of the Lord said unto her Genesis 16 and10 I will multiply thy seed exceedingly and that it should shall not be numbered for multitude and the angel of the Lord said to her behold thou art with child and shalt bear a son and shall call his name Ishmael because the Lord hath heard thy afflictions here's the view of God's promises of course we know of course we know that the promised child of Isaac to Abraham and Sarah it was promised that his seed would be as the number of sand on the seashore you could look up to the sky and see the stars and and that's how how many descendants that you're going to have through the promised child Isaac but the truth is that God's promises will always come to pass in Abraham's situation it came to pass in quite the negative way as well you can view God's promises as optional but they're going to come to pass in a good way or a bad way you can view tithing and offerings as optional but the Bible says that that you'll be cursed with a curse and whatever you seow you're going to reap and not only you're going to reap a curse but you're going to reap it pressed down shaken together and running over and so I want to view God's promises as they're going to come to pass either in the negative or in the positive and this is what happened in this this scripture this the promises of God came true with Hagar with with with Ishmael and even though it was a wild Nation the Bible says not in a a positive way but a power way it was a great nation that would come through ishmail and Hagar In Jesus 2114 she rose up early with Abraham they took bread and a bottle of water and gave it unto Hagar putting it on her shoulder the the family would begin to grow and Ishmael begin to grow and and then he had some conflict him and his mother had some conflict with uh with Sarah and Isaac and Sarah said hey Abraham got to get rid of your mistake gotta you got to kick her out and you got to kick that boy out too go ahead and just throw him off give them what they need and let him go so Hagar took water and some bread putting it on her shoulder and the child and sent her away she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beba and Hagar is simply the result of a faithful servant Hagar is the result of faithfulness and obedience to her master but then Hagar is dealt with an unfair situation she was sent out with just a little bit of water a little bit of bread not knowing where she and the baby Ishmael are going to go and all she has is water and bread faithfulness of a servant LED to an unfair all she was doing was being obedient all she was doing was being faithful to the word of her master and her master's wife verse 15 says and when the water was spin in the bottle she cast the child under one of the shrubs and she went and sat her down set her down over against him a good way off as it were a bow shot for she said let me not see the death of my child she said I'm going to set him overneath a underneath a bush a little bit of shade we're running out of water we're out of bread and we're out of water and she had the view that it was over she sat over against him lifted up her voice and wept you can't tell me that she remembered God's promise you can't tell me that she had the view of God I know this child is going to be no no no sometimes in unfair in hurtful situations we forget the promise that God has made to us and God heard the voice of the lad and the angel of God Called to Hagar Out of Heaven she said what ath thee Hagar fear not for the Lord for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is arise lift up the lad and hold him in thine hand for I will make him a great nation somehow just God speaking changed the view of how she viewed the child just God's simple word just says hey I know you feel like everything's falling apart but have you forgot that I I promised you that I would never leave you I would never forsake you have you forgot that I promised you that everything's going to be all right we've got to have the right view but so many times hurt and unfair situations change our view of what God says about our life but it doesn't stop there and God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water and she went and filled the bottle with water and gave the lad to drink you can't tell me in that unfair situation haar didn't see her herself as a mistake you can't tell me that she didn't view her S as what God why in the world is this happening I was just being faithful I was just being obedient God I was doing the best I could but then this unfair thing happened but God spoke and changed her view Hagar could not see something important like a well of water she couldn't see what was in her face the entire time because it's difficult to see God's provision when you don't have the right View it's difficult to see how God's provided for you when your views messed up through hurt and unfair situations but oh God tonight let our view change let our view change of what God says about us let our view change I know you are hurt but if you can have the right view of God's promises are sure God's promises are yes and amen you'll recognize the provision that's in front of your face other words when people are overwhelmed by hard times they may have a difficult time recognizing something valuable or something essential because their view is messed up lost in the wilderness of their sha without water she places that child as it was a moot just far enough where she could not hear the cry no more I wonder tonight how many of us have had the wrong View and we've separated ourselves of things in our life that we felt like God promised us because of unfair and hurt situations how many Ministries have have been given up how many Futures have been laid to the side simply because of hard times you feel like God has forgot about you but it doesn't matter how many hard times Destinies still remain unchanged Destinies of that child still remained unchanged I know it was in a negative way but God still promised it and it came to to pass he was still promised to have descendants as a great nation but then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water no Miracle just better view the Bible does not say God God miraculously put a pack of Dan water and used my Aunt Kathy to deliver it if you ever see Aunt Kathy she's got this a pack of the Sonny Water Somewhere all right and Kip's going to go get it all right if you're ever thirsty go see my Aunt Kathy does not say that God miraculously just ploop there was a well of water doesn't say that it said God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water no Miracle just better Vision no Miracle just a different view that well had been there the entire time but in panic and in pain Hagar never saw what she needed and so tonight if we could get a the right view of who God is if we can get a right view of God's promises towards you you're going to see that the provision has been there the whole entire time and if God if God did not place it there at that moment if God didn't provide a miracle in that moment to have a a well of water appear out of nowhere that means when God made that place the desert of berseba he put a well of water there and nothing happens by accident or just by chance God put a well of water there knowing that Hagar would need provision in that very place at that very time God knew exactly what she needed when she needed it and God knew at that moment that if I could put a well of water there there's going to be a servant of mine that's going to feel like giving up and she's going to get the wrong view of what I've got for her future and I'm going to speak to her in that moment and God's going to open up her eyes and she's going to see what's been in front of her face the entire time God knows exactly what you need when you need it just change your view on what you're going through God knows the exact moment that you felt like giving in the towel but God's going to show you tonight what's been in your face the entire time God knows God knows the moment when you thought about giving up God knows the moment when you thought about quitting but that's the moment that he's provided provision for you but how many times If we're honest you'd be so kind to stand with me how many times have we let pain and panic and hurtful feelings and hurtful situations change the view of what God has made for us how many times whatever you're facing tonight you might have W walked away from because in the midst of suffering in the midst of unfair things you're just being a faithful servant that you're missing what God has made for you and put in front of you the entire time changing our view might just bring a miracle tonight changing your view about a certain circumstance or a certain person might just chck change the whole reality of the outcome I want to tell you how the Lord views you the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open unto their cry for the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open unto their cry come on Hagar I know you've been done wrong I know that in the midst of unfair things you felt like giving up but how about you try one more time how about you try if you just call on his name God might open up your eyes tonight just try to call on him in the middle of hurt just try to call on him when you feel like you're being forsaken just try just try just try just try to call on him he's not some distant God I feel the Holy Ghost right now he's not some distant God that he's shut his ears to your cry I know you can't see it but if you just try to cry on to him one more time just try to cry out to him one more time hey I know you're being faithful and in the midst of faithfulness has brought hurt and has brought pain and has brought suffering but just try one more time try one more time 1 Peter 3 and12 for the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open unto their prayers try one more time try one more time ver Hest tonight how many of us can't see what God has done for us because of pain how many of us have hurt and because we've had hurt in our life it just keeps producing hurt it just keeps producing it it's it's it's produced hurt in the middle of our kids it's produced hurt in the middle of our marriage every conversation is has an underlying theme of hurt every every fun moment we ought to be having has that underlying theme of hurt we're just carrying a stick with hurt but tonight if you'll put something different in your view if you'll put in your view that God's never left me and God's never forsaken me if you'll put in your view hear that if you'll just try one more time if you'll just try to cry out to him one more time I know you've placed that Ministry to the side I know you've placed that promise on over the side you've distanced yourself so you can't hear the Cry of that Ministry calling out to you again you've distant yourself from that promise that's calling out to you you've dissed yourself because of hurt and because of pain but Hagar try one more time be so kind to Bow your heads with me and close your eyes in the prayer room tonight I feel like the Lord is speaking to someone tonight that if you just change your view maybe it's changing your view of that person maybe it's through a conversation that you need to change your view and maybe a different outcome will come to pass Maybe you just need to try again to cry out to God cry out to God cry out to God heyar call out to God hear in the midst of your unfair circumstance how many promises have you laid toide because you can't see what you need with with pain and with suffering in the middle of your the middle of your life and what you what you need is in front of you the entire time be so kind to pray with me right now lifting your voice I feel the Lord's about to speak to somebody the Lord's about to speak to someone right now come on if John the Baptist had to call out if John the Baptist had to call out and say do I need to look for another because what I'm seeing is not what I was I was preaching about I was preaching about Jesus I'm the Forerunner of Christ do I need to look for another I was preaching about Jesus opening blinded eyes but right now all I can see is a prison cell I was preaching about Jesus raising the dead but all I can see is a prison cell that I'm in do I need to look for another no go tell John that the blind see go tell John I know he can't see it but go tell them in his ears the lame walk the lepers are cleansed the deaf here and the dead raised up and blessed is he whosoever shall not be offended in me I I don't see God's promises how about you just try again how about you just reach out to him weary saint of God just try again come on Hagar I know you feel like God's promised you a bunch of stuff I know that God's fil he's promised you uh he's promised you Joy and he's promised you peace but you can't see it because of suffering how about you come to the Altar and try again how about you come to the Altar and try again come on you got to view yourself in what God has promised you I promise you you'll get through the storm if you view yourself the way that God views you God has not changed his mind God has not forgot about you I know you feel forgotten but God has not change his mind toward you come on change your view change your view right now family change your view of your marriage right now put something in front of your eye put a successful marriage put faithfulness and a marriage before your eye come on that's it come on that's it Kar had to do she had to lift her voice and God heard her cry she lifted up her voice and God spoke and said open up your eyes come on I know you've been lifting up your voice and crying and anguish of pain in a situation but how about you lift your voice and praising and worshiping God and let God open up your eyes tonight come on let God open up your eyes come on I'm telling you your answer is just opening up your eyes to seeing what God wants you to see open up your eyes open up your eyes family open up your eyes hurt Family come on Hur saint of God God want open up your eyes that well of water where there's Freedom that well of water where there's nourishment has been in front of your face the entire time but you've closed your eyes to to not see what God has for you come on that's it God's moving come on God's moving right now when the blind man bmus had the right view of Jesus saying thou son of David God opened up his eyes he couldn't couldn't even see but he had the right view of who God was he couldn't even see but he had the right view of who Jesus was come on haard I know you were just being faithful I know you were just being obedient I know you were just doing what you were told to do oh I know you were just being faithful you were doing exactly what you were supposed to do but then hurt came come on don't you lose view of the promised God has for you come on that's it come on find somebody right now as a big family would we find somebody to pray with tonight come on there's people there's people on the sound of my voice blessed are those that don't get offended in him come on you felt like you're forsaken but God's trying to open up your eyes and he's been there the whole time God's been there through every hurt God's been there through every trial God's never left you even though you couldn't see him hallelujah hallelujah come on open up your eyes open up your eyes come on God's here God's here for the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous I know you feel like God's forgotten about you but God's never closed his eye to you his eyes have been upon you Hagar his eyes have been upon you weary saint of God he's never left you he's never forsaken taking you ah get the right view get the right view oh God speaking right now God's speaking right now get the right view get the right view I know you feel like this is a wasted season get the right view tonight God would never waste a season this season is getting you to the moment where there's provision this season is getting you to that spot that God made the well of water this season is getting you to the place that God's going to open up your eyes God knows this exact moment tonight that you feel like giving up God knows this exact moment you feel like throwing in the towel but God's going to open up your eyes God knows this moment you feel like giving up God knows every tear you've cried God knows every sleepless night you've been through open up your eyes open up your eyes come on as they begin to sing could we bind together tonight to have the right view of God come on view him tonight as a Healer view him tonight as a way maker come on healings here if you have the right view of them if you need a healing in your body begin to praise God for being a Healer have the right view of him tonight if you need forgiveness begin to worship God because he's a for forgiver if you need Mercy in your life begin to have the right view as he's a mercy Giver he gives Mercy to those Come On Healing here
