Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

People come to the church in affliction

  • In his trouble the psalmist cried unto the Lord, and he heard him; before his affliction he went astray, but the affliction brought him back to the word.
  • Jonah cried by reason of his affliction out of the belly of hell, and God heard his voice.
  • Like the prodigal son, people come to the house of God when trouble brings them to themselves.

Scriptures: Psalm 120:1; Psalm 119:67; Jonah 2:2

The right-hand pillar: a secured place in the house

  • He reads 2 Chronicles 3: Solomon’s two pillars, thirty-five cubits high, with chains and pomegranates, set up on the right and on the left and named — the right-hand name rendered ‘jaqen’ in the captions — and Boaz.
  • The right-hand pillar’s name belonged to a priest of the twenty-first course; it speaks of security — God establishes and secures his people in his house.
  • From Nehemiah 11 he preaches the lots cast to dwell in Jerusalem: the family accepts the place God assigns inside the walls.
  • Micah 7:8 promises the one who has fallen that he shall arise; never look down on those who come to the church in trouble.

Scriptures: 2 Chronicles 3:15-17; Nehemiah 11; Micah 7:8

Boaz: stability, favour, and the kinsman redeemer

  • Boaz speaks of stability and strength. Ruth is welcomed to glean in the field and to eat at the table (Ruth 2:8).
  • When Ruth asks why she has found grace in his eyes, Boaz answers that her kindness to Naomi and her leaving her own land have been fully shown to him (Ruth 2:11).
  • The handfuls are dropped on purpose for her; the kinsman redeemer raises up the name of the dead, and Ruth is set in the line that leads to David and to Jesus.

Scriptures: Ruth 2:8; Ruth 2:11

The church itself is the pillar

  • The brazen pillars of the temple were broken when Jerusalem was destroyed and Israel carried away to Babylon, but the church of the living God is now the pillar and ground of the truth (1 Timothy 3:15).
  • He closes with prayer for those watching and an appeal to be baptized in Jesus’ name and receive the Holy Ghost.

Scriptures: 1 Timothy 3:15

praise the Lord everybody it is such a privilege to be here with you this evening in this online revival the other night at the church I was talking about how the old-timers speak about the brush arbors and that generations to come we'll probably talk about the online revivals and so it's a great honor to be here with you this evening I want to give honor to Bishop and sister carpenter the Erickson family and the Hammond family and brother Nolan carpenter as well you know typically whenever you go somewhere and you are a guest speaker at their church they've made accommodations for you and I you know I just thought the other day as I was thinking about all this that in almost a humorous way I wanted to thank the carpenters for the accommodations because I don't know when I've ever slept on a bed that felt just like my own like I did last night and so that's just a little humorous side to all of this that we are experiencing but if we can turn to the word of the Lord to 2nd chronicles chapter number 3 second chronicles chapter number 3 I'm going to begin reading with verse number 15 the Bible says also he made before the house two pillars of 30 and five cubits high and the chapter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits he may change as in the Oracle and put them on the heads of the pillars and made a hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains and he reared up the pillars before the temple one on the right hand and the other on the left and called the name of that on the right hand jaqen and the name of that on the left Boaz please take note in the scripture that these were pillars that were before the house of the Lord or pillars that was before the temple the church and so for a little bit here this evening I would like to minister this subject a jaqen Boaz type of church a jaqen Boaz type of Church if you can take a moment right now and pray with me that the Lord would speak his word as he would desire father I come to you tonight Laura grateful Lord for your spirit for your power God for the technology to be able to carry on the revival like this Lord live-stream Lord into homes and families I pray O God that you would bless right now God sends your word and let it do that which he was sent to accomplish in the lives god of every here and every soul in the name of Jesus Christ that I pray amen and amen a jaqen and Boaz type of church throughout the years of ministry I've had mixed feelings about when the only time people would consider the church was when their life was in shambles or whenever they were met with trouble when of her things that were discouraging had arrived at their doorstep many times from my estimation some of those troubles were of their own undoing of their own making handed down to me from several generations before a course is the concept that there are people that just use the church as a crutch now please hear me out tonight don't prejudge me here too quickly they they know where it's at whenever they need it they know where the house of God or the church is whenever they have needs their life and it would seem that they only avail themselves of the church in those moments as long as everything in life is find and there are no emergencies that are rising in that moment then the church and at times even God can be put on the back burner so to speak and at a distance away from them still yet close enough though that if they were to need him or if they were to need the church they could reach him truly whenever it comes to these type of things they there is nothing new Under the Sun the children of Israel in the Old Testament side and they cried unto God by reason of their bondage of Egypt God heard their groaning and he remembered them and sent a man of God to them that he had been preparing for about 80 years as their deliverer as these people these Israelites sighed and cried and many times grumbled and complained over the circumstances in their life it's interesting to the note that God did not qualify the cry he didn't drill them with questions in those moments about if they had been contributors to any part of their mess or any part of their bondage he didn't ask them why they had waited so long to call upon him and to speak to him he did not ask the questions like why are you waiting until now to talk to me about this he didn't just shrug it off and say oh I see I'm only relevant for you when things are bad I'm I'm only important to you whenever things are not going your way it is the nation of Israel that constantly turns their backs on God and they oftentimes serve other gods until they find themselves being oppressed by the foreign enemies that would come against them when it becomes more than they can bear whenever these circumstances and adversaries became more than what they could contend with and off times come in these adversaries would at the time of harvests and they would steal if you will the harvest during the time of the reaping season it would be in those moments that those same people then would cry out to God it'd be in those moments that those same people would be in the ear of God wanting his help it's whenever they were cowering down according to the scripture and bins and caves and recesses in the mountains and their normal way of living and habits had to change that they felt dominated by the circumstances around them that they deemed that God was important or the church and the tabernacle was important to them at that time yet it's in those moments I realize in Scripture as I look at the Old Testament that God doesn't turn a deaf ear a deaf ear toward them in those moments he doesn't ignore their plea or their cry he doesn't look in the other direction as though he is ignoring them no that's not God the Bible says that the Lord would raise up judges in those times time after a repetitive time and he would send a judge to come alongside them amen to relieve the pressure that they were under to deliver them out of their woe he knows as soon God knew as soon as the pressure would be relieved from them and everything was going back to the way that they wished life would be he knew that they would ignore him again and they would forget his goodness and his care and his tenderness in that moment yet nonetheless he would show them the care and the compassion that they needed at that period of time the scripture records that even David cried unto the Lord in the first chapter that's denoted as that group of chapters as the song of degrees it was those song of degrees that they sung on their pilgrimage to the house of God they would sing those on their journey to the church so to speak in Psalms 120 and verse 1 the psalmist says he might distress I cried unto the law and he heard me in other words statement said I'm on my way to the house of God I'm in this journey but I'm also in deep distress and I'm crying out to God in the moment of my distress in another place of the Psalms the Bible says that he cried unto his God in his distress and God heard his voice out of his temple hey man meaning that God the moment that we cry out the moment that we make our plea of help in our distress and our affliction that God hears and God sees and God attends unto our cry in another place of the psalm Psalms 119 and verse 67 the psalmist says before I was afflicted I went astray but now have I kept thy word before affliction ever shows up on people's doorstep the Bible says they travel their own way they chart their own path they make their own decisions that is suitable to them that go astray but when their lives have been subjected to laws whenever their lives have been subjected if you will to some circumstances beyond their control when the riches if you will like a bird has tethered wings and have flown away when trouble has become their companion day after day after day when bad luck is the only type of luck that they have they start to think about God they start to think about the church they start to consider the master it's not in those moments whenever their life is crumbling around them amen and circumstances are beating down hard upon them not in those moments are they thinking about some other institution they're not looking for help from the social club that they may be a part of or that they have subscribed to they are not looking at the substance abuse of drugs and alcohol but they've gathered into their life because they've seen that they've been No or help to them at any other time know the place that they look the place that they lean the palm the place that they put their confidence in is in the church it's in the temple they understand in those moments of life they need God they need the help of the master in the creator of the universe it's the story the story Jonah's storages as much as anybody's story it's the story of the Jonah's that attempt to go as far as they can in the opposite direction of where God wants them to go they paid the price as he did the Bible says he paid a fair for getting on a vessel descending deep down into that vessel into the hull of a ship just to escape everything that was going on people do this and they find themselves in a turbulent storm Jonah's downward Turney took him to the belly ultimately of a fish pound into the depths of the sea the Bible says in Jonah 2 and verse number 2 that Jonah said I cried by reason of my affliction unto the Lord and he heard me out of the belly of Hell cried I thou heard us my voice Jonah was saying I've went down I've went far as I could from everything that was going on but whenever I came to my affliction he said I cried unto the Lord my affliction was a fine line from being a Amen real life and what I considered Jonah considered the belly of hell he said but I cried unto the Lord in that moment and the Lord heard my cry it's the story tonight it's the story of the one sheep of the hundred that goes astray it's the story of the one coin of the Tim that gets the loss it's the story of the son one of the sons of the two that asks for his inheritance and goes into a far country to there's money's on riotous living but the Bible says that whenever he came to himself and he found himself bizarre in even the husks that the swine would eat that he remembered his father's house and remembered the servants of his father's house that perhaps they probably even have some good and some clean bread probably even some to spare and the Bible records that when that son in his affliction when the money was gone when the resources were gone when things were not looking up that son when he decided to walk back down that familiar road to his father's house with feelings of guilt feelings of shame feelings of dejection the Bible says the father didn't get up from there and go in the house and say well it's just another day no but that father ran to that son he embraced that son he kissed that son he celebrated him and he reinstated him with the status that he had before so what I mean tonight is this we can really call all day every day every son that returns to the father's house we can despise every Jonah that cries out to God in his moment in time of affliction we can even look down our long noses if you will amen at those that use the church or God as a crutch because of their affliction because things are not going so well right now in their life because trouble is around them we can look down at them we can if we want to ignore the plight of people in these out-of-control circumstances because you know what they've never thought of God until now hey man we can if you want complain if we want to about how this seems to be the only time but they think of the church amens times when they're in trouble we can do that or we can feel relieved that when they are at their lowest times and their most vulnerable times they think of a place they know they can trust and that they can have confide in because it's been for them before in the past and it remains unchanged that's something that is steadfast and it's something and movable and it's called the Church of the Living God it is for this very reason in our setting the scripture of second chronicles for this very reason that when Solomon was constructing the temple the church that he had to brazen pillars out before the temple before anybody would enter into the temple or walk into the temple they were met by these two brazen pillars these pillars in essence were the greeters of the church they were the greeters of the temple these two pillars were the introduction to the church these were towering pillars very ornate pillars they had extensive capitals or chapters the Bible says that was upon them and that adorned that their tops these were by most scholars estimation from what we can read freestanding pillars neither of these pillars were necessarily literally supporting the structure of the building in any way physically and so they must have served as something though they each had a name and they served as symbols they must have been symbolic because each of them Solomon gave them a particular name the right pillar toward the south side he named jaqen in the let pillar toward the north side he named Boaz he named the one jaqen meaning he shall establish and he shall oppose me are very simply he called that one jaqen simply meaning security he named the other pillar Boaz meaning in it his strength may strength be in him or very simply Boaz meaning stability in so much that anybody that approached the temple anybody that approached the church they would be greeted by these two towering freestanding quite evident if you will pillars that didn't need to be propped up but they were pillars above security and stability being that many make their way to the temple being that many flee to the church if you will during times of trouble of life or whenever sin has overcome them in their lives we need to make sure that the church is seen in this hour amen even this present hour as a place a man of strength a man stability and security they are looking there are people right now that are looking for a refuge they're looking right now for an answer they're looking right now for hope I hope that we have out in front of the church and I'm not just saying the building but the people I hope the people Amen by virtue of their lives is saying the church is secure and the church is stable the church has the ability of being a place Amen of calm in the middle of the eye of the storm it can be a stable place for the chaotic and the uncertain times of our lives circumstances are coming but that does not affect the stability of the church hallelujah wall may be happening on the lip and on the right but that doesn't hurt the security of the church they need to know right up front as they approach it that the church is dependable they need to know there's no reason to worry about being let down by the church they need to understand that the church in this hour is a jaqen Boaz type of church the church is not flighty the church is not undependable it's not there one day and then absent the next day like some other institutions maybe or like other relationships that they may be involved with maybe but the church is secure the church is stable that first pillar that first pillar that was named wanted those that would approach him that would approach the temple to know that it was a jaqen type of church jaqen was a priest it was a priest of the 21st course according to the word of the Lord there were divisions made of the sons of Aaron 24 different courses these divisions were made for being the governors of the sanctuary the governors of the house of God each of these separate courses and jaqen was head over one of these courses as the governor of the sanctuary or the governor of the house of God what that means for us is simply this is that jaqen was a leader that had a distinct and prescribed place in the house of God in other words jaykins place was secured in the house of the Lord it is important right now that people as they see the church they need to know that there is a place for them in the church they need to know they can help fulfill if you will apart in the house of the Living God right now in these moments that we have a place for them in the church they might not be able to find their place at work right now because of certain things that disallowed them to go and maybe they are searching but they always if they will find it if they will embrace to have a place in the church if they'll choose it they may feel like they've been missed even out there out in the world but they need reassured that as they approach the church that they can find a secure place in the house at all some people don't know where they're gonna go what they're gonna do when the job's gonna start again but I'm here to tell you this evening there's already a place for you at the church there's a place for you at the house of God make no bones about that there's a place secured for you for that matter the purpose of the courses of those sons of Aaron those priests as it were in their service to the Lord their purpose was that in their courses these priests taken being of the 21st course that they could behold the beauty of the Lord and enquire in his temple this must be a jaqen type of church with those that are even broken as they approach those that are even bruised as they approach can see this is a jaqen type of church meaning that they can still come and they can still behold the beauty of the Lord at the church they can still behold the beauty of the Lord even from their state of bewilderment and brokenness they they they can still come and find that place of beholding the beauty of the Lord this must remain securely the church where people can bring their questions and there's a lot of questions right now there's a lot of questions that nobody can answer people are attempting to try and we are over if you well whelmed with answers this one says that and that one says this but the church still needs to be the secure place where people can bring their questions that seem to have no answers and bring their circumstances that don't make sense to them and that they'll still be able to say that's a jaqen type of church I can still inquire of the Lord no there's no mortal man that can give me the answer to my question I can still take my question to God I can take a dreaming prayer because that's a jaqen type of church I can behold the beauty of God there and I can't by all means ask my questions and inquire of God there can I tell you today something ladies and gentlemen wherever you are in your home tonight you may be wringing your hands amen your mind may be full with some questions right now but I urge you and I implore you you need to take that to God take that to the church take that to the body you don't have to go to a physical building but you can make your home a church right now and take it to God that's a secure place to take those unanswered questions to in this moment because the church is a jaqen type of church jaqen in the scripture it's also used as a family name it's just not an individual but the twenty first course blanketed those that were under his headship and leadership and care the name of a family there were over time as it would go some of the course would have been taken away to Babylon and would return and it's these this family of jaqen that willingly accepted the decision by law and they abandoned their rule retreats on the outskirts of the city of Jerusalem in order to become citizens and guardians of Jerusalem you can read of this in the amaya 11c whenever these courses were taken away from the temple when they had many of them been drawn away by foreign alliances and some had went seeking after false gods when they were taken away and taken to babylonian captivity finally whenever the decree was made that they could return home they could return to jerusalem some of the ummah wised up and they did return to Jerusalem but they're fighting and contending with these type of feelings after 70 years of being estranged from the church perhaps some of them thought it would be best if they just live in the rural outskirt areas of Jerusalem outside away from the temple and the inner workings of the city because they've been estranged from the church they've been estranged from the house of God as it would seem for 70 years no doubt some of their minds were thinking I we don't deserve any closer place than just the rural areas we don't deserve any closer place than just the outskirts of it all aim in a secure place would be on the inside of the walls a secure place would be the temple itself that was in Jerusalem but in their minds they're probably combating the feelings that that can't be mine that shouldn't be mine a dwelling place next to the church or in the church couldn't possibly be from me but per Bible declares this in Nehemiah 11 it says that there were lots that were cast lots that were cast and every one out of ten was to be brought into Jerusalem they would count off one two three four five six and eight nine ten and everyone out of ten would be brought unto Jerusalem and the Bible says that whenever the law was cast to jaqen they're counting off they've been living on the outside they've been living on the peripheral the outskirts but whenever they counted off and the lot fell to jaqen and his family they had a choice in a decision to make in that moment it wasn't forced upon them but if the law fell upon you you had a choice you could either accept the lot and move to the secure inner spots of the walls of Jerusalem or you could choose to reject the opportunity and stay on the outskirts no doubt there may have been a little bit of a struggle in some of those whom the law fell upon but the family of jaqen winter the fell upon them and said we don't want you on the outskirts but we want you inside the walls we want you in the secure place the Bible says that the family of jaqen accepted it although they had been estranged from that place for some seventy years there was something about that family that deep down they knew they didn't have to settle amen for the uncertainties of the rural areas they didn't have to settle for the uncertainties of being on the outskirts unprotected unsecured because they had a secure spot in the house of God they had a secure spot Iran about the church there was still a spot for them where they could behold the beauty of the Lord and enquire that God I'm here to tell us this evening this search of this generation this moment in time needs to be a jaqen Church that tells those that have been gone more on the outskirts than they've been in we need to let them know there's a spot reserved for you for the church there's a secure a secure spot reserved for you the church needs to be a Church of restoration and I dare to say there's going to be some that's looking toward home during these times there's going to be some that's considering coming back to God during these times and the church needs to be a secure place change place of restoration as Micah said in the closing of the Oh tessen amicus 7 & 8 this needs to be what the church says this needs to be what the temple says rejoice not against them o mine enemy because when they fall they shall arise and when they sit in darkness the Lord shall be a light unto them the church needs to be a church a restoration a jaqen type of church we're looking down our noses we're not into we're not throwing our hands to the sky yeah I bet just think of us whenever they need us no no no we're privileged that you would think about the church in such an hours this and just rest assure she has not changed just as her master the Lord Jesus Christ has been the same yesterday today and forever the church it's going to be the same yesterday today and forever because the head of the church is him the second pillar that they would approach you came to the temple jaqen didn't just stand alone by himself but there was a second pillar of equal importance the second pillar that was named was named Boaz that pillar wanted those and Solomon wanted those who approach it to seed the pillar Boaz one of those who approached it to know that this was a Boaz type of church Boaz was a near kinsman of Naomi it was a near kinsman of that family of her husband Elimelech Naomi's the Omi's daughter-in-law Ruth had returned with her from Moab to Bethlehem Judah after their 10-year stint there whenever Naomi the Bible says whenever Naomi left Bethlehem of Judah the Bible plainly tells us that she she was full but after 10 years of remaining in BO a band having lost her husband and two two sons Bible says upon her return home that she was empty and so as Ruth travels home with her mother-in-law it was instructed to Ruth that Ruth you're gonna have to you're gonna have to go out somewhere to a field and you're gonna have to find a field to to glean some grain ioan because your your husband is dead my son my mind my husband is dead we we have they'll figure to secure any grain for us and so Ruth you don't have to take it upon your shoulders to go out to a field and glean some grain because we have no men left in our lives so to speak to provide for us and so the Bible says that Ruth went out upon a certain day and she happened upon a particular field and she began to glean in that field and so happens that the field bet she was gleaning in and belonged to one by the name of go as Ruth is out there gleaning in the field before Boaz ever shows up but when Boaz does show up and when he does arrive to his field and he sees this woman that he's unaccustomed to seeing in this field doesn't recognize her know her or her past or histories and he begins to inquire about this new lady if you will that is that is gleaning in his field and he learns her name to be to be Ruth and Boaz's plea them to Ruth is this he goes out to her you can read all of this in the Book of Ruth Boaz goes out to Ruth and he pleased to her this he says ma'am he says I don't want you to glean in any other field but this field right here that you're gleaning in in other words I know you're here today but I want you to come back tomorrow I don't want you to go out and search for any other field any other area to glean him than this one right here look what the Bible says Ruth chapter 2 and verse number 8 then said Boaz in truth here is thou not my daughter go to glean in another field neither go from hence but abide here fast by the maidens this is amazing folks this is what a Boaz type church looks like he has a woman that's in his field he doesn't know her from Adams housecat he's not met her he doesn't know her past he doesn't know a bikini ology of her yet he a pro just her without knowing much of anything disorder as it was in his field and he basically says I don't want you to go anywhere else just remain right here in this field and glean what you need and what you want we need to be a Boaz type church that whenever they approached us physical building or us as individuals being the church when they approached us and they are inquisitive and they are in need and they need their thirst to be quenched and their hunger a man to be if you will taken care of we need to tell them don't you look for any other place because the Church of the Living God is exactly what you need you don't have to search in any other institution any other place in the world because the church is what you you don't have to know them to welcome them you don't have to know them to help them you don't have to know them in order for your doors to be open to them the Boaz type of church says I don't have to know you because I know this place is what you need I know this place is what's gonna take care of your hunger I know this place is what's gonna take care of your thirst that's a borrower's type of church he insist on her don't leave he does understand from what was told to him that listen now that she had left all to come to Bethlehem Judah she had left all and he says if you left all to come here and particularly to glean in my field then there's no reason for you to leave and go to any other place he says I want you to glean here look look look what Perez does my lord of Boaz type Church look what boy has this he says I want you to glean here because this is a safe this is a safe field see culturally of that day it wasn't in common that if the ladies went and they gleaned in some of the fields of some of these workers that in some of the remote areas of the fields or places perhaps that were not easily seen culturally it wasn't untypical Amen for a woman to be taken advantage of advantage of physically in the field but Boaz was trying to hey man calm every apprehension calm and he fear that she was already dealing with he says I know you're already afraid if you will about the lack of food the last thing you need to be afraid of it's about this place this field be an unsecured and unsafe he said you you just go on and stay right here because this is a safe spot folks a Boaz type Church should be a safe Church this this needs to be the church's response in this hour a mental let the world know that the church is a place of security for them and the church in this hour is a place of stability for them if they've left the church it's a place of restoration for them if they've never known the church but the problems are causing them to have a lonely night or the church then this is a Boaz type church for them glean in our field glean in our field Ruth she's a little puzzled it's amazing she kind of overtaken by the generosity of Boaz she even questions him and wants to know why is it that you're treating me like this why is it that you've opened the doors to your field to me why is it that I have found favor in your eyes II you don't even know me you don't even know me why would you why would you be so kind and compassionate to me Boaz is response to her was very simple in room 211 he says I've heard everything you left behind I heard you left your mom behind I heard you left your dad behind I heard you left the land of your note in your Nativity the place where you were birthed I understand that you left that behind he goes a little further I heard you left all of your former gods behind hallelujah you left all your former gods behind to come here he says and so I'm shining favor on you cuz I don't want you going anywhere else and so the Bible says not only not only did Boaz allow Ruth to glean after the Reapers because as she would go the Reapers would kind of go in front and they would be plucking the and anything that was left behind by them that is what Ruth and those others that fell behind the Reapers would get they would get those are those sheaves if you will that that that was left behind them she got the leftovers that was behind the Reapers but Boaz had a had a discussion even with his Reapers he said boys he says as you're reaping along here he said every once in a while he said just just cast down some handfuls full the purpose to be left for Ruth intentionally some of that you put in your drain sack he says not by accident but purposely just cast that down on the ground so Ruth can pick that back up can I tell you that the Boaz type of Church it doesn't matter what hour one hour that they come to the church that us that may have already been in the church for 20 and 25 years we need to be casting down some handfuls on purpose might I say intentionally for them to glean from Boaz even went to the degree he said let her up there among the sheaves almost like you go up you guys are walking that front lying there getting the she'sa he says I want you to allow roof kind of elbow her way up there right where you are to glean not what's left over but to have her speak to folks a Boaz type of church doesn't start to qualify if you will amen the blessing of the Lord on somebody that's just come to God the Boaz types of church says I may have been in this thing for twenty year but go on and get up here beside me because there's something here that you need just as well as I need they're not stingy with what God has they're not stingy with the blessing of God the Boaz type of church says we're in this thing together we're in this thing together we even right now though we might be separate in our homes there is a spirit of togetherness there is a spirit of unity that's found in the church found in the church a Boaz type of church as the story would unfold Bible declares that Ruth would go one night as Boaz is in the threshing floor and he would fall asleep and Ruth as instructed would lay down at his feet and he would realize that she was there and cover her with his garment and understand that culturally through this encounter there was this unspoken desire if you will of relationship and perhaps even marriage in the picture and so later we see then Boaz goes to the city gates to meet with the officials there being another kinsman redeemer closer to him he had a conversation with him and asked if he was going to redeem the land and kind of put in there also if you redeemed the land you also need a Mary Ruth because there needs to be a name raised to her dead husband to her deceased husband in his honor and so Boaz comes to the city gate and not only does he redeem the land the land of Ruth's dead husband or the land of Naomi's dead husband but Boaz this is the type of church I'm talking about Boaz marries Ruth for this purpose he marries Ruth in order to bring a dead man's name to life again don't have children and those shouldn't gonna raise up and take up on the name of their father so to speak to raise a dead man's name bring it back to life again Ruth's husband his name was Malone in a a cello in his name was Malone he's deceased he's dead he's in a grave he's cold right now but one of the meanings of Malone's name was pardoned during the ten years in Moab that boy Malone if I could say like this part and had died somewhere in those ten years at Moab pardon had entered the grave somewhere during those ten years at Moab but thank God for the pillar of Boaz that stands a rat in front of the church reminding those that visit reminding those that have I passed in that direction that stability can be found there and that God can take a dead pardon and bring it back to life at the church can I tell us today that we need a Boaz type of church that all the dead Pardons that are out in the world but they feel like they have no hope that they've went too far that sin has been too much of a part of their life but they're gonna have to be on the outskirts of the church never a part of the church never laughs any ownership with the church thank God for the Boaz type of church that says I can bring your dead pardon back to life there can be forgiveness there can be a cleansing there can be a wiping of the slate if we just get to the church there'll be security there and stability there because it's a Jake and Boaz type of Church see the strength and the ability and the stability rather of the church that is found in Boaz is that whenever bo has joined with Ruth it set her and their offspring in a line that ultimately led to Jesus Christ Boaz was in the line of David and thus in the line of the Lord Jesus Christ the offspring of Boaz and Ruth the Bible says was Obed in the line of Obed would come then Jesse would lead to David if you were to read the genealogy a map you to number one and you would continue to trace that that would lead if you would continue to follow it all the way to Jesus Christ see a Boaz type of church when you get in relationship with it it will put you in a line that will lead you all the way to Christ Jesus if you'll get a part of a secure stable hallelujah teaching preaching underscoring the Apostles doctrine type of church he'll help put you in a line that leads all the way to the Savior in a line that leads all the way to the Lord Jesus Christ the Bible teaches us in the Old Testament that when Israel was carried away to Babylon and Jerusalem the city of Jerusalem was destroyed and left in ruins and shambles that the Chadian people came and they broke the pillars those brazen pillars of jaqen and Boaz into pieces carried the brass that overlaid them away carried the pillars of the chapters away meaning this that in that moment there was no symbolic reminder of the jaykins and the Boaz's simply put the enemy didn't want anybody to have any hope concerning strength any hope concerning security and stability of the church but I'm sorry too sorry to advise the enemy tonight that before there was a Tabernacle in the wilderness of Moses and before there was a Temple of Solomon the Bible says the great patriarch Jacob took a stone that he had been using for a pillow and he stood it up as a pillar and the Bible says he anointed it with oil calling it or if you will the house of God as a matter of fact in the new testament scripture in the letter that Paul wrote to Timothy as he served at Ephesus he said in first Timothy 3 and 15 he said the house of God which is the Church of the Living God the pillar and ground of truth can I tell you we know this but in times like this it's important to emphasize the church is beyond would impose and drywall and carpet beyond the light fixtures that we have in the running water that's in the building the church is the people and they are pillars individually like the Jenkins and the Boaz's of Solomon's Temple but with their lives their screaming you can depend upon the church because we're secure you can depend upon the church because it's stable see whenever Paul wrote to Timothy that word pillar would hold significance there in Ephesus hood significance to Timothy because in Ephesus they had a temple as well there was the Temple of Diana a pagan place that was located there in Ephesus it was considered one of the seven wonders of the world one of the features of this Temple of Diana are the many pillars that surrounded it history says it had a hundred and twenty seven pillars each one of them was the gift of a king they were made of marble and they were studded with jewels and they were overlaid with gold they they they they were lavished with all of these materials and quite elaborate but in contrast to that place that no doubt everybody's minds are going toward when you're talking about a temple and pillars contrary and contrasting that place Paul is turning Timothy's attention to the church which was a pillar as well remembrances perhaps filled the mind of Paul maybe even Timothy and what he had been taught of the Temple of Solomon which had those two pillars I've been preaching to you a tonight at the entrance that were also gifts of a king but the gifts of a king of King were they ornate absolutely they were overlaid with brass they they they look tremendous yes but most importantly those two pillars screened this is a place of security and this is a place of stability for every soul that would wish to depend upon this place for every heart that would be longing for the church in their hour of need this is a place of security and stability I'm coming here to a close here real quickly I want to urge us here this evening that if people are depending on the church in this hour that that's not a shame if people are looking to the church in this hour the church shouldn't feel put out by that taking place but the church should feel privileged that in this time it is a jaqen boaz type of church that in uncertain times unprecedented times during times of an in stable world that people can log on to Facebook live in YouTube and connect to a service and they can fall down if you will in the presence of the Lord that they're feeling in their home and that church can be secure and stable for them in this moment that the church can be a place although it's by proxy it can be a place of restoration for somebody in a home during these times can I plead to those that are looking toward the church right now let's not look toward the church in many years can I plead to those that are looking at the church right now that's not considered the church in a long time can I tell you we don't want you to glean in any other field upon our field we would not have it any other way you just need to find your stability and your security in the church we don't want you to live on the outskirts we don't want you to be in the rural places and on the periphery if you will of the church no we want you to be in the church because the church is the place where God can take your dead pardon as it would sing to you and bring it back to life and set your soul in a line that leads all the way to Christ Jesus it is a Jacob Boaz type of church as we close here this evening I'm going to ask every viewer tonight bow your head wherever you may be watching on your phone iPad computer television whatever it may be if you could close your eyes tonight I want to pray I'm gonna pray over us I want to pray over those needing the church and I want to pray over the church right now father I come to you tonight I'm so thankful Lord for the church I'm thankful Lord for a secure place I'm thankful God for a stable place all other ground is sinking Sam but upon Christ the solid rock I stand God there is Lord Foundation's Lord God that are crumbling underneath Lord the lives of some people the very thing they have put their hopes and their confidence in Lord they're looking at now questioning whether or not their foundation has been sure enough for these times but God I pray for them right now if they would just turn their eyes in the middle of their affliction if they would just turn their eyes in the middle of this dilemma toward the church they're gonna recognize some pillars there that's echoing and screaming the church is still here the church is still stable the church is still secure and it wants to be your security and it wants to be your step in these uncertain unpredictable times thank God for a jaqen and a Boaz type of church I pray O God move upon that individual that may be standing in their living room tonight Oh Lord looking toward the church amen looking for that anchor of hope I pray O God bring the dead pardons that they thought Lord we're long gone Lord bring them back to life I pray knowing God that they can find Lord a place of refuge in the storm I pray O God help them to find you by virtue of your spirit by virtue of the infilling of the Holy Ghost to become a part of the church God and set their feet in alignment in a line with the Lord Jesus Christ in the name of Jesus I pray amen and amen god bless you this evening thank you for being the jaqen and Boaz type of church that we need in this hour we certainly hope that the Word of God that you have heard tonight challenges you it is my desire that if you are a believer that this word has drawn you closer to the Lord Jesus Christ if by chance tonight you have been watching and your heart has been touched by God's Word but you have not yet committed your life to God you've not yet been baptized in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ not yet received the gift of the Holy Ghost we want you to know that although there is a band about the attendance at the house of God that our church is open for you to come and pray for you to come and be baptized to receive the Spirit of God please contact the church office and make arrangements to come and meet one of the pastoral team and their pray and be baptized god bless you until tomorrow night may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you
