Understanding Our Empowerment

that let's everybody clap our hands unto the Lord praise him with our whole Hearts Let's praise him with our whole Hearts Hallelujah Jesus praise the name of the Lord Jesus praise the name of the Lord praise the name of the Lord hallelujah Hallelujah it certainly feels good in this place tonight what a glorious day this has been what a marvelous presence of God is in this house right now right now I want to say thank you to brother Anthony Mangan brother Kilgore brother Tenny brother Mike Williams and any others who might have had a part in the invitation extended to me to speak here and participate in this meeting I also want to give honor tonight to brother Shan our general superintendent members of the general board other leaders on this platform and our highly esteemed Elders that are here amongst us tonight and I want to take just a moment to commend this church and Pastor for the manner in which this meeting is carried out amen the the competency and the efficiency with which this meeting is carried out is truly amazing and that doesn't just happen that happens because of much planning effort and cooperation the hospitality here is overwhelming yes you people really do live up to the cliche southern hospitality and my wife and I have mentioned it discussed it talked about it often again this year amen I truly say that I am honored tonight but at the same time it's not a false expression of humility but I am truly humbled to stand here and to take this time in this service tonight I just want to be a blessing yes sir I want to be a blessing yes and I trust that in the next little while the spirit of the Lord will Minister through his word yes to accomplish things that only eternity will reveal yes amen now I could say a lot more in the way of introduction but they give us an a lotted amount of time here that seems adequate to me for any preacher to convey his message but there is an acceleration of time every time I start to preach something happens to time it moves faster and so I'm going to hurry tonight if you will turn with me to Romans chapter number 13 our text will be found in Romans chapter number 13 verse number one do you feel the presence of the Lord here tonight do you recognize that Jesus is here do you recognize that Jesus is in this place what a phenomenal thing Jesus is amongst us tonight amen praise the Lord now brother Mangan Anthony Mangan last night and sister Mangan today both spoke to us concerning accomplishing the mission and the Holy Ghost used them to stir our desire and to create within us a burden for the accomplishment of the mission if you didn't get that far what I have to preach to you tonight is IR revent but I think there's a whole bunch of us okay that's right that have a red hot burning desire in our soul to reach a lost world and it's hotter tonight than it's ever been in our lives is there anybody else here besides me that feels that way T so the Holy Ghost used them to convince us that we must do it and by the help of the Lord tonight I want to persuade you I want to convince you that we can do it do it got to do it

I said we can do it it's not a pipe dream no it's not wishful thinking no we can reach this world before Jesus comes Romans Chapter 13 Verse number one let every soul be subject unto the higher powers for there is no power but of God the powers that be are ordained of God I would like for you to note in particular the second sentence of this verse of scripture for there is no power but of God there is no power but of God by the help of the Lord tonight I want to speak to you for just a while now on the subject of understanding our empowerment okay praise the Lord go ahead I want to preach till somebody in this house tonight go ahead understands your empowerment I want to preach the can't off of you and preach the can into you before you walk out of here tonight I said we can do it we can do it do it we've got to understand our empowerment let's pray together that God's will would be done here this evening dear Lord Jesus I thank you for this night I thank you Lord for what we have heard and received all through the course of this day I thank you God for the anointing of your presence that is in this place now God I understand my insufficiency and my inadequacy I pray that somehow God you will touch my mind heart and spirit I pray Lord that you will move in this place and that you'll do a mighty work amongst your people oh God oh God oh God tonight Jesus In Your Name Lord help us God help us this night we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus everybody say in Jesus name clap your hands and you may see this I would like to begin tonight with a scripture reference that is often quoted but seldom seriously contemplated Romans chapter 8 verse number 31 if God before us that's all right who can be against us now it's in the form of a question but it's a rhetorical question it really doesn't even deserve an answer but the appropriate answer is nothing and nobody if God be for us us who can be against us somebody ought to be shouting already if God before us who can be against us praise the Lord there is always a feeling of assurance that comes when you start a new endeavor and you can get certain people on the team okay you always feel a little bit of comfort you feel some security and in the confidence you have in those individuals but I am so happy tonight that in this endeavor we have been asked to accomplish God is for us I said God is for us I'm not just talking about a man I'm not just talking about somebody you know I'm talking about God the God who hung the stars and spoke the planets into orbit God is for us I don't think he's just Kinder for us I don't think he's just for us like he is for a lot of people in this world I

think he's standing on his tiptoes this very night to help us accomplish the mission which been that's been assigned to us all right God is for us God is for us believe I like to have my friends for me yeah I like to have my wife for me I like it when I have confidence that my church is behind me but oh what an assurance when I know the God who made all that is by the power of His will and word he is for us would you clap your hands right now would you rejoice in it God is for us God is for us and nothing can be against us I have come to tell you tonight that if you are sincerely endeavoring to live for God God is for you come on your chin Square your shoulders take your place in God if you're doing your dead level best to live for God he's on your side and you can make it I've come here to preach to you tonight that if you're endeavoring to build a church that will honor the name of Jesus Christ and propagate this new testament message God is for you oh you preachers didn't get that in your spirit like I would want you to when it seems like everything and everybody's against you when it seems like all of the circumstances are contrary hear me tonight God's on your side God's with you God is for you and you can build that church for the name of Jesus there is nothing nothing nothing that can stop you Hallelujah I want you to understand tonight that if you are endeavoring to have Holy Ghost most Revival in this end time God is for you maybe you're of the persuasion that you've got to back him in the corner twist his arm and get him in the mood but I'm here to tell you tonight if you're trying to have an Apostolic Revival God is on your side right and it's a bad day for the devil because somebody here is going to understand tonight it doesn't make any difference what he thinks or what he wants because God is for me Hallelujah clap your hands if you believe it Hallelujah somebody shout hallelujah hallelujah I want to tell you if you want to win the lost and you're making any reasonable sincere attempts to win the Lost God is on your side it'll stir up the armies of hell and darkness but it matters not if you've got it in your heart to reach the lost with this saving message God's going to help you he's going to come alongside he's going to Grant you wisdom and Direction and give you words and understanding God is for you if you fall into any of those categories I want you to turn around and Shake several people's hands and I I want you to look them in the eye and say God is for

me God is for me God is for me God's for me God's on my side God's on my side God's going to help me I'm going to build that church I'm going to see Revival I will see Souls saved God the Eternal almighty God is for me hallelujah hallelujah come on praise him some more Let the Holy Ghost sweep through this building yes Hallelujah Jesus please understand tonight that if God before you there is nothing nothing nothing nothing and nobody that can stand in your way I tell not everybody believes that like you need to believe it I I wish I could preach it with enough sincerity I wish I could preach it with enough faith I wish I could preach it with enough Authority I wish I could drive it like a steak in the heart of every man woman boy girl that's in this building tonight I'm telling you if God's on your side there's nothing and there is nobody that can stop you from accomplishing your mission Hallelujah tell somebody else God's on my side God on my side our text makes a very clear and straightforward statement tonight the Apostle in teaching a lesson about submission submission to Authority gives us a very profound truth when he says there is no power but of God he's telling us there is no other source of power there is no other origin of power there is no other beginning point of authority you can substitute the word authority in that verse of scripture without violating its meaning there is no Authority there is no power but of God it all starts in God it all begins with God he is the origin of it all he is the source of it all that's not a strange Doctrine to the New Testament Jesus Christ when he walked on the face of the Earth said all everybody say all all he said all power in heaven and in Earth is given unto me he said I'm the possessor of it all it's all in my hand there's not any power that doesn't belong to me I have it all all power in heaven and in Earth is given unto me when he gave his personal testimony of who he was in the first chapter of the Book of Revelation one of the labels or descriptions that he gave of himself was the allmighty now if you're the allmighty that doesn't leave a lot of Might for anybody else and he said that's who I am Jesus said I am the allmighty that's my Jesus that's who I'm worshiping in this place tonight that's who I'm serving here I have not come to praise a God that's made out of brass or stone or wood I have not come to worship a God who cannot hear who cannot move who cannot heal who cannot save but I've come to give praise and honor unto a God who is allmighty he is the possessor of all power in heaven and in Earth that's my Jesus clap your hands to him right now give him great praise Hallelujah come on shout hallelujah I feel the Holy Ghost here there is no telling what is about to happen right here in this room my my my my my does anybody else sense the

presence of God like I do right now he's here he's here you may be seated praise the Lord the Apostle Paul when he wanted to describe how powerful Jesus was he said he sits on a throne that's far above it's not just one notch up above the presidency he's not just one notch above some of the kings of this Earth but this Jesus sets on a throne that's far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named both in this world and in the one which is to come that is our Jesus tonight he's a powerful God Amen he is the king of kings he is the Lord of lords I suppose it is quite a heady experience to be a king I don't know yet but I think I'm going to get a chance to find out praise God quiet and experienc to be a king sat on that throne and people just whatever you're whim and with and desire is that they they listen they obey they they do whatever you want them to do and and quite an experience but every King on the face of this Earth every High potentate who lives in this world would be wise to realize on this night they have a king my Jesus is not just a king he's the king of every King he sits on the highest Throne there is none greater than him there is none like unto him he is the almighty God he possesses all power in heaven and in Earth come on give him praise what a God what a God what a God what a God hallelujah hallelujah the only power or authority anyone or any institution in this world any government has the only Power they have is that that is allocated to them they are allowed or allocated a measure of authority and power that's all they get that principle is revealed in Jesus's discussion with pilate at his trial pilate did not like the answers Jesus was giving to him and so he looked him in the eye and he said don't you know that I have the power to either put you to death or to let you live don't you think you ought to be a little more careful about how you answer me don't you think you ought to be a little more respectful about what you say to me and Jesus looked him back with a cold level gaze and he said you have no power but what is given to you from above you just got a little bit that's been allocated to you to do a little job but let me tell you sir I am the possessor of all power in heaven and in Earth he went ahead and allowed pilate to have the power to put him to death but he didn't have to he just gave pilate permission it was an allocated power amen now I am quite sure the enemy

doesn't want me to preach to you the next part of this message tonight but I enjoy doing things the devil doesn't like the devil doesn't have any power but what God gives to him somebody hear me tonight the devil is not sovereign some of us act like he is but he is not sovereign he can't do what he wants to do when he wants to do it anyway he wants to do it he is not the origin of any power he's not the beginning point of any power he is not a sovereign Authority the only Power the devil ever has had or ever will have is the power that your good God who loves you more than the stars of the heaven the only Power the devil has is what God lets him have because he's the origin of it all it's all allocated out of his throne it all comes from him because all power is of God praise God hallelujah hallelujah that's the person next to you did you hear that this fact is Illustrated so vividly in the story of job's life and trial amen the the great man job lived blessed of the Lord he lived in the favor of God and the Book of Job gives us a very rare and unusual scene in the scripture because it's only a very few times in the Bible that we are allowed to look directly from this natural realm into the spiritual world but in the Book of Job it is as though God reaches out and takes hold of the drawring on the curtain which divides the visible from the invisible and we get a ringside seat of the goings on in the spirit Dimension it was a time when the sons of God came before The Throne of God and Satan came along with them there was a conversation that ensued between our God and the devil they discussed job God said in so many words have you beheld my servant job how it is that he serves me continually day and night have you seen job's faithfulness and diligence and the devil being the accuser of the Brethren that he is responded something like this oh but he doesn't really love you he doesn't really want to serve you he's just wise enough to know that he's got what he's got he has what he has because he serves you God said well I want to know that and so he empowered he empowered the devil now that's hard on some of you to think in that way but I want you to get it now so you get the rest of what I'm going to say he empowered the devil to try Jo took first his possessions and then his family and then his health but I'm glad I can announce to you tonight that through it all job stood true he was faithful to God and when he faced death in the eye he said if my God decides to kill me if it's his choice to kill me right here and now I'm going to trust him I'm going to believe he's doing the right thing I'm going to put my confidence in him that he knows what he is doing Hallelujah but the point of the story is the devil didn't just wake up one morning and say I'm going to go get job he had to Humble himself in the presence of God he had to make petition for power he had to get an allocation or an allowance of power from God before he could do anything against job the devil can do nothing God does not allow him to do he can go no further than then God gives him permission to

go I feel like I need to reemphasize that tonight there is a check in my spirit which tells me there is somebody who is experiencing attack from the powers of darkness in this building tonight and you don't know what's going on and your view and your vision is clouded right now but I'm telling you if you'll be faithful to God everything's going to be all right the devil can't do anything God doesn't let him do the devil can say I'm going to kill you but if God doesn't say he can do it he can't do it the devil can say I'm going to destroy your family but he can't do it if God won't let him he'll Bluff you he'll lie to you he'll manipulate you he'll intimidate you but he can't do anything God doesn't let can do come on clap your hands we're about to have church here hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah I'm sure he wants me to hurry on by that part so let me just announce it one more time loud and clear for everybody in the building to hear that devil has no power that God won't let him have he doesn't have his own authority he doesn't have his own power praise God hallelujah now I know that I am preaching to an astute body of people tonight leaders and Bible scholars people who are thinking far ahead of my sermon I already figured out some of what I'm going to say and the question in somebody's mind tonight is why would such a good god Empower such a Despicable evil being like the devil and since you asked the question I think I'll take a few minutes and pre about it why in the world would such a holy God such a good god such a wonderful God such a precious God why would he give power to such a lowly despicable evil wretched devil amen can I preach to you that it's ordained of God that His blessings do not come to those who are not willing to contend for them him I said God has ordained it to be so that His blessings will not come to those who are not willing to contend for them there's a whole lot of people say I'd like to have Revival if there was no fight involved a lot of people say I go build a church if there was no de to contend with if there was no spiritual opposition if there was no struggle but God said it's not going to happen that way you're not accidentally going to lay hold of my blessing you're not going to nonchalantly casually stagger on to Revival but if you get Holy Ghost Revival if you turn your city upside down if your church do those triples and you reach the potential God has in mind it's going to be because you have made up your mind live or die seek or Swim devil or no devil I'm going to have what God's got for me that's right that's right can I preach to you if you're passive in spirit it's not going to happen if you want it to fall into your lap forget about it if you're not willing to shed blood and sweat come to your brow it's never going to happen but I'm telling you if you have a taste of the milk and the honey you're going to have to make up your mind I may have to die right where I stand but I'm going to have everything God's got for me come on I'm not playing tonight I'm telling you if you get there if you get there friend there's going to have to be something that burns in your heart

nobody can put it out nobody can bat you down nobody can change your mind nobody can dissuade you the devil in 10,000 more like him I'm not going to stop you because God's on my side clap your hands the most common analogy in the scripture of the New Testament Christian is that of a soldier I've never found it never found it in the New Testament where working for God accomplishing God's purpose and Mission is liken un to a picnic or going to a playground but the most common analogy in God's Bible of the New Testament Christian is that of a soldier and don't you let anybody tell you that new test Tate Christians should not be Fighters we just don't need to fight ourselves we don't need to fight each other we better realize we're in the middle of a war friend you better be willing to dig your heels and roll your sleeves up go Toe to Toe with the devil eyeball to eyeball with the devil and say we're both here and I'm not leaving I know some people that look at people who have been blessed and are enjoying the good things of God and think they just fell in their lap oh how foolish you are friend what you don't know is what's happened when you're not around there some blood bins built somewhere there's some tears that have been shed there's been weary Lonesome times there's been the ferocity of the battle there have been times Brother manging in Modesto when I didn't have one thing one thing to depend on nobody and nothing my back was against the wall that's right have a hard time keeping a good spirit when folks act like I'm lucky they weren't there when the devil had me backed in that corner and said your finished boy I'm going to make you a fool a laughing stock and all I had was a confidence deep in my spirit that God was on my side God was on my side hallelujah amen that generation that possessed the promised land only got one City without a battle the first one say oh how nice it was to inherit the promised land yes it was beautiful it was wonderful but they had to fight with everything that was in them for every city after the first one they had to put their life on the line they had to face the enemy face to face they had to go toet to Toe with forces that seemed to be insurmountable and overwhelming but they said God promised it to us and he's on my side somebody ought to come shouting out of your Pew right now cuz the devil's been beating you down lying to you telling you it can't happen and you can't have it and youve just about believed him but one more time you stepped into the house of God and the word of God has sought you out and God saying to your spirit right now I can have it I can have it it can happen in my Church it can happen in my city it can happen God's on my side come on clap your hands to the

Lord hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah you see you may be seated it's just not in the nature of our God to allocate power and authority to our enemy and then leave us powerless right it's just not the way of our God to commission us to a task and not sufficiently Empower us to get it done can I say it again it's just not the way of our God it's just not how he does things to commission us to a task and then not sufficiently Empower us to accomplish the task that's not my God when he said to Adam okay I'll give you Dominion here said you're you to keep this Garden you had dominion over everything on the earth he didn't have to worry about the roaring lion coming out of the Jungle and devouring him he understood his empowerment he said devil you made look a big lion you may have a loud growl you may have big paws and a lot of strength but I want you to know I'm in charge around here go on back under that tree and take your nap I said we need to understand our empowerment I'm just a little nothing nobody stuck over here in a little little town in a remote part of the state I I I I just can't get much done my God I'm glad somebody didn't tell Elder Mangan he walks around you know if you didn't know him you'd think he was cocky that's right you know what I read by that I'm in charge yeah yeah that's right that's right somebody say there's a devil around here yeah devil you're trespassing get out of here I'm in charge that's exactly I'm not just trying to preach to you something interesting I'm telling you the word of God tonight God didn't give us a job to get done and leave us powerless to do it we're in charge in this world it's time we rise to our right ful place we're not just another denomination preaching another little message no sir we're sons of God we're the children of God we the people of God were the ambassadors of Jesus Christ we're left here in his dead we are in charge shout hallelujah hallelujah Moses's knees are knocking at the burning do what God go to Egypt what am I going to tell those people he said here's a badge Moses flipped it open and said I am okay Hallelujah yeah God doesn't send Moses down to Egypt to get that job done without empowering him and author izing him I'm talking about the God who allocates all power he decides who gets what he decides how much the devil gets and he decides how much you get and I don't want to get ahead of myself but I'm telling you he gives you more than he gives a devil he gives a Blood Washed Holy Ghost filled New Testament a child of God more Authority than it does anybody else on

the face of this Earth there's nobody like the people I'm preaching to there's no power in this world like the power in this house we can do it we can do it we can do it we can decide what happens in this world we can decide the course of human events we are in charge Hallelujah Hallelujah Jesus gave us the prime example of how our God sins and one of the most Memorial and notable scriptures of the New Testament when he said to his disciples and it applies to every one of us in this room tonight as my father has sent me so send I you when he sent me I knew all Heaven stood behind me he said young man that's the way I'm sending you that's a word of God oh you don't understand I came from nowhere yeah I do understand I don't have a Pentecostal pedigree I know what it is to be obscure and lost in the crowd unknown I know all that stuff that devil tries to Pawn off on you to rob you of any potential faith and confidence in God and I know what it is a pray myself out of that place and say I'll never go back there again I know who I am in Jesus Christ not who I am because of my natural birth but I am who I am because of the blood of Jesus Christ I have authority in this earth Hallelujah Jesus Hallelujah to the 70 disciples that he sent forth he describes how it is that he sins in Luke 10: 19 behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions listen to this part and over this is how Jesus sins when Jesus gives you a commission this is how he empowers you I give you power over all the power of the enemy he knows how much power the devil's got you see I don't believe the devil is just some mystical imaginary creature like a cartoon character I don't believe he's just a fantasy or a pipe dream I believe that he is a literal actual being who was created eons before you or I were born into this world I believe in the actual existence of a very real real devil and he's a master what he does he's been around a long time but don't you ever forget all the power he's got he has to get from God and if I understand the scripture right he didn't just get it all in one time that he went to the throne but I think he's continually an accuser of the Brethren Before the Throne of God and every once in a while he goes back about Jerry Jones and he says God Jerry Jones is a fake and a fraud and a hypocrite and if you'll let me off prove it and so God gives him some power but thanks be to God he gives us more power than he gives a devil Hallelujah if you do tell somebody you believe that I don't think you do I don't think you do I don't think all of you believe that you let the devil get away with a whole lot more than you ought to you act like he's in charge instead of you being in charge it's time some of us take the oversight and I'm not talking about oversight over people I'm just talking about oversight wherever God's placed you take it reach out and take it it's yours God put you in charge I got five more

minutes everybody stand up and clap your hands oh Jesus Jesus now just stand here for a few more moments I don't have much time and I I'm going to wind this up doing something that I hope doesn't doesn't embarrass you brother Manan it won this might be something you would do in a Sunday school class but I I want what I'm trying to say to you to be vividly portrayed I want you to walk out of here tonight believing I can do it because God's on my side can I borrow one of these chairs I want God's Throne right out here where everybody can see it amen I'm not going to use one of these dignified leaders here on the platform brother Hood would you help me amen yes do you mind playing God for a little while it's a tough Ro to play just said right there all you got to do is sit there and look however you think God looks now your wife might tell us this is a very familiar role for you but don't ever do this again play God one night for just a few moments heyen I'll tell you what if you'll do that I'll play the devil and we won't ask my wife about that oh no I want a pastor of a church that has less than 100 people and his wife whom the devil has told you you can never have 500 in your church I want that couple to come here right now quickly right over here I just want one couple that's all I can use right now devil told you that come on you can come to bring there just okay we'll do two of them come on come on stand right there stand right here what's your name brother brother Patrick and brother Huer brother this is how the enemy Works he comes to you usually when he got a message from me comes at nighttime yeah and he begins to tell me why it can't happen he begins to explain to me all of the obstacles and the reasons that what my dream is is impossible and reasons why I cannot accomplish what God has commissioned me to accomplish and he enumerates oh what an impressive list of reasons he can bring when I first caught on this I was an evangelist and my first few years of evangelizing I go from City to City to City to city and people would tell me why they oh they had impressive dissertations as to why we could not have Revival in their City yeah you know it's college town tourist town retirement Town New Age center too many drugs too much unemployment on and on and on and they would tell and I thought my God we can't have Revival anywhere and God helped me understand he's bigger than the Devils of drug addiction he's bigger than the Devils of new age he'll give me authority over every spirit that opposes the church you better believe what I'm saying

tonight but he'll tell you that amen the devil go to God say you know what they were because of the times I saw them sister Mangan was preaching and or talking and they were crying Hing and carrying on and acting like they wanted to do something for God if you just let me let me attack his family let me attack him in finance let me bring a spirit of depression to him I'll show you I'll run them out of that City so fast you won't even know they were ever there and God says go ahead and the next morning you wake up and you wonder what's happened that's all hell has broke loose on you spiritual attack like you never imagined has come down you you just you just don't know what to do and where to turn and what the answer is you ever been there what I go what I do I'm going tell you where you go you go to the same place the Devil Went only you don't come crawling like a lowly despeckled rebellious Outcast you come boldly before the throne of grace to make your petition known unto him and he'll give you more power than he gives a devil you'll walk away from there with authority over that thing you'll walk away from there with power over that you'll walk away with Victory you'll walk away with an I can in your heart come on praise him come on entertain the presence of God let Faith rise in this building let Faith come into your spirit let Faith pass into your heart let Faith come into your mind come on cast off that doubt and that Fear cast off those lies of the enemy you can do it God will give you the authority and the power and the anointing to get the job done come on we need to praise him some more there needs to be a spirit of faith that sweeps through that balcony something that rises up on the inside of you something that says yes I can Y and amen it's yay and amen come on praise him some more don't quit don't quit you're going through your little 20 second ritual come on let the Holy Ghost sweep into this place let the Holy Ghost minister to your spirit there's people all around you that are struggling that are intimidated that are lied to the devil's tried to steal their faith I'm telling you you can do it you can't have Revival in that City I'm looking at men who can have a 100 Soul Revival in the next few weeks I'm preaching to preachers who can have a 500 increase in your church this year the devil says you can't but I say you can the Holy Ghost says you can God will you God will Empower you God will enable you God's on your side God's on your side and nobody can be against you Jesus name come on praise him praise him some more praise him again would you turn to your brother and say pray that a spirit of faith and confidence are com into my heart pray for me that a spirit of faith and confidence will come into my heart here go ahead let lay hands on yes Jesus come on pastor's wife turn to a pastor's wife lay your hands on her pray that faith comes into your spirit pray that faith comes into your spirit pray pray pray pray pray

pray God's on your side if God be for you who can nobody can be against you we can reach this world we can have Revival we can turn this world upside down yes come on let the Roar of prayer vibrate in this house Jesus Jesus Hallelujah yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes we can yes we can yes we can yes we can yes we can yes yes we can yes we can Hallelujah
