Blessed Is He That Comes in the Name of the Lord

would you pray with me church right now let's pray together Lord we thank you so much thank you so much for the opportunity to gather in your name what a privilege it is Lord to be able to speak your name Jesus Jesus I thank you Lord for all that you have done for us this day we have sung songs Lord we have prayed we have called on your name and you have showed up Lord God today right now Lord we go to your word we need encouragement today understanding Lord we need a reminder today Jesus of exactly who you are your greatness and your goodness lead us today Lord in the plain path the name of Jesus I make myself available to you once again Lord take holds from The Altar and touch lips of clay in Jesus wonderful name would you give the Lord a hand clap of Praise everybody come on clap your hands unto the Lord clap your hands under the Lord for he is worthy we love you Jesus Hallelujah Hallelujah so good to be in the house of God today I thank you singers musicians thank you to everybody that's involved at Cornerstone guys media guys parking lot guys water people coffee people and all the other Smiley people I think people are just good people don't you turn your neighbor say are you a people if they answered in some other way you might question anyway so glad you're here again to all of our guests we honor you for being here today thank you so much you can be seated if you feel like you need to thank you so much brother durron as we near the great notable celebration of Easter next Sunday I feel it pertinent today that we must first visit the week prior to that Josh I've got a ring right there buddy if you could help me I'd appreciate it it's noted on your calendar perhaps that you use every day as Palm Sunday everybody show a poem come on put your palm up yeah this is not what it's talking about but it's a good indication anyway that you're at least listening we understand that the meaning of poem Sunday is different of course to different peoples different religions and so forth but you gotta understand the times in which this particular event was first mentioned here in your new testament allow me if you will just a few moments for back story time just to kind of fill in the Gap so we can all catch up with one another Jesus teaching and establishing with his followers the importance of events in their day in order to live day by day in their social environment the day in question for an example that we're talking about did I die my good Josh you messing with me do I sound better or worse okay um the day in question is relevant even to the happenings today in 2023. let me begin today by talking to you about the Passover let's start there it's a feast of Celebration that was established by God with his children the chosen ones if you will the Seed of Abraham at that particular moment death was soon to fall onto the land of the Egyptians Moses had made multiple inquiries to Pharaoh the leader of that day of the Egyptians with a desire to allow the children of Israel the in the lineage of Abraham an opportunity to take time to go out of their place and to worship their God that that was the intent from the conception point to go to a place where they could worship a place where Moses could remove the stigma for a moment if you will of these slaves and could actually give them a place where they could gather to worship everybody say worship is important so as part of the incredible and most impressive plagues that happened that would ever affect a world system Waters turn to blood there's frogs that's loose there's lice there's flies there's pestilence on the livestock there's boils that pop up on the skin there's thunderstorms of Hell Fire there's locusts there's three days of darkness all of these things time after they begin to happen with everybody that's in Egypt at that time in God's way of getting the attention of the Pharaoh stay with me a moment to conclude this series of plagues this series of very Supernatural horrible things something was going to transpire the supernatural event if you would would come down and it would be simply called the death angel the death angel had a job I will come down by the command of God and I will kill the firstborn male I will simply stop a generation death would eliminate this entire group if you will the firstborn that had the rights to if you will things in Egypt that particular thing would be removed from them because all of the firstborn male would die something would happen though that in the events that brought them to this point what God was doing was developing this camaraderie if you will follow me a moment between Moses and pharaoh Moses would go into the presence of pharaoh and Pharaoh would listen to him but Pharaoh would not hear it in fact the Bible tells us if you'll go back into the book of Exodus you'll find that basically God would send the voice the voice would speak and then God would Harden the heart of the one listening kind of sounds like a dead end Road from the beginning somebody I might would have thought differently about doing it that way but I'm not God God had a plan to establish the true children of God something was going to have to happen the last plague was the death angel remove that firstborn all of this was part of the plan god listen he had instructed the people of Israel this is what you've got to tell them Moses make sure that this word not only gets to your ears but then it goes to all of the hosts and all of the groups and those that are in charge so that everybody's on the same page what they will have to do something is coming and when it comes you're going to have to recognize that there are steps to be taken in fact you're going to have to prepare a sacrificial lamb one for every home if you're not able to have one there is a provision for that then you will share with your neighbor but you can't simply go out and grab a lamb so somebody's got to understand the gravity of what's about to transpire now in their mind perhaps they were thinking you know what Pharaoh is going to let us go out in the middle of some place and worship and what was happening was God Was preparing the people of God the children of Israel for one of the greatest escapes if you will that would ever ever be mentioned with Humanity when you look at the chapter 12 chapter of Exodus you find out that Moses has given this particular set of series of events that must take place one lamb per house the blood from that sacrifice would have to be gathered in a bowl and they would have to make a certain type of Branch brush and they would have to apply that blood to the outside of where they lived on the post to the left and to the right and then make sure overhead that the blood was there listen carefully the meat of that lamb would have to be cooked you couldn't cook it with herbs and things like that you couldn't cook it with garlic and a little shed of this and that but instead it had to be prepared with unleavened bread so that as the children of Israel stood that night in their houses behind a closed door that was Dripping with blood something Supernatural was taking place listen to me carefully when the death angel began to walk through the camp if you will the screaming and the crying and the Wailing and the pain and the suffering and the sorrow something was happening outside suffice it to say if you're standing in your house and you're eating this Passover Lamb that doesn't taste real good with this bread that doesn't have leaven in it and it's not got all the fancy things in it and it's all plain and it's all bland listen to me you would be a whole lot less likely to complain if you knew in somebody else's house the death angel just took the firstborn in fact you might even say Lord I'm thankful for this nasty bread I'm thankful Lord why because I recognize the fact that I have followed the voice of God and I have done what is required from God listen that is from whence the word Passover comes from that Death Angel is looking for blood and when he sees the blood he will Passover that house now hang on to me I have a firstborn son in my house I know what it would have felt like brother Jerry yeah I'd be thankful too if my son were still standing there having his mouth full or I'm eating Daddy I'm eating fast as I can we can't leave none of this because it was told that don't leave nothing you gotta I'd sit there screaming coming down the road keep me eat faster come on come on eat faster this might battle up all I know is there's crying and screaming down the road but in our house all we're doing is filling up our bellies listen there's shoes on their feet their clothes on their back as if the journey were soon to begin stay with me somebody the fact of the matter is this at that particular place from that point God came in and delivered his people from the hand of slavery and Pharaoh's captive of them and from that point they were given instruction every day every year every month every every time you come to this place you better stop and you better stand in your tracks and remember what I have done for you call it Passover every time listen to you read in the story in Exodus it simply says from this point this month this day everything forward is going to be marked it wasn't called April it wasn't even called Easter it wasn't I'm not I'm not even at Easter yet y'all come back next week and see what happens but all of God's plan and purpose is coming together notice Exodus 12 1 and the Lord's fake to Moses and Aaron the land of Egypt saying this month shall be unto you the beginning of months shall be the first month of the year to you speak ye under the congregation of Israel saying in the tenth day of this month they shall take them every man a lamb according to the house of their fathers a lamb foreign house and if the house will be too little for the lamb let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the souls every man according to his eating shall make that your count for the lamb come on verse 5 your lamb shall be without blemish a male of the first year you shall take it out from the sheep or from the goats and you shall keep it up 14th day the same month the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening Passover is established listen carefully when you look at it you'll notice that the week of Pastor the week of the day we call Easter you come backwards seven days on our calendar you'll notice something happened it's called Palm Sunday now I'm getting to the Crux of today's message another little back story Jesus had been with his disciples for some three years he was a preacher to them a teacher to them he instructed them he helped them he led them he gave them things every day something was unfolding and these guys they were looking at the multitudes and with questions and with with anticipation with excitement Jesus was doing things he was feeding multitude he was healing he was raising the dead stuff was going on provision proclamations he was declaring things and it was happening all at the hand and at the mouth and the actions of Jesus Jesus comes on this one particular day and he's coming for the Passover celebration but according to John chapter 12 notice in verse 1 Jesus six that he's notice that six days before the Passover came to Bethany where Lazarus was which had been dead whom he raised from the dead verse two there they made him a supper and Martha served but Lazarus was one of them and sat at table with him then Mary took a pound of ointment of spike in a very costly and anointed the feet of Jesus wiped his feet with her hair the house was filled with the odor the ointment verse four let's say one of the disciples used to scariest Simon's son which should betray him why was not this ointment sold for 300 Pence and given to the poor this he said not that he cared for the poor but because he was a thief and he had the bag and bear what was put therein then Jesus said let her alone against the day of my burying hath she kept this for the poor always you have with you but me you have not always now the people were very interested in one thing at this particular account they were interested in this man called Lazarus this is the guy that was dead four days and stunk and was wrapped up had a rock over it and was dead everybody say Dad no life say dead no way to be alive say dead we want to find out more about this Lazarus surely he's lost an armor it fell off or surely something he looks bad or he's got all this stuff going on because he was dead and the Bible said that's why John put it here they were so interested not just in Jesus but in the dead they wanted to understand more about this Jesus came for this particular point in time listen he is standing there talking with his followers in verse 12 of chapter 12 on the next day much people that were come to the feast I mean John chapter 12 verse 12 when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem took branches of palm trees went forth to meet him and cried Hosanna blessed is the king of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord Jesus when he had found a young ass sat thereon as it is written fear not daughter of sign Behold thy King cometh sitting on an Isis cult these things understood not his disciples at the first but when Jesus was glorified then remembered they that these things were written of him that they and that they had done these things unto him notice here the people after seeing Jesus in the house with Lazarus some of them smelling the spikner ointment and now Jesus has already given a word to his followers disciples I want you to go and find this young donkey you bring him to me if you were to go into the old you would find this written about in zachariah's Prophecy that this was going to happen and so this Jesus now they're coming with with question they're coming with scratching on their head they're coming saying there's got to be something about this Lazarus guy and it's all because this man Jesus stood up at the tomb of Lazarus and spoke Lazarus come forth and at this particular moment now something is transpiring y'all hang on to me on this Palm Sunday the people are moved with enthusiasm they take branches off the palm trees they begin to wave them they begin to shout and yell the scripture tells us they took their coats off and laid them on the donkey they took their coats off laid them and made a road at them if you will Jesus comes running or riding if you will in on a donkey and everybody is shouting in one voice Hosanna Hosanna translation being salvation has come the people yelled in a unified voice but something was happening here they began to yell also blessed is the king of Israel they cometh in the name of the Lord the transliterated meaning of this is eulogized listen carefully when Hosanna was shouted they then began to say blessed is the king of Israel this word in its root meaning simply means this to eulogize one to talk about one by the definition we may understand better what Palm Sunday is all about when you identify who Jesus is the base meaning of that word eulogize which they used at that time was simply this a chosen word about something it was not a haphazard we don't know him we don't understand him but this was a chosen word blessed is the king of Israel blessed is the king of Israel blessed is the king of Israel this word this phrase this moment in time you'll understand that as Jesus is being identified as God of all creation hear what the preacher says today something was transpiring at that moment why because friend of mine in six days from then they would change their song and instead of selecting the word and saying blessed is the name of the Lord God they would begin to scream out crucify him I've come to tell somebody today if you're ever going to fall in love with Jesus you're going to first have to have a Palm Sunday experience where you recognize blessed is the name of the king of Gloria it is he it has all power you've got recognize and worship and bless that name on the poem Sunday afternoon is there somebody that will declare blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord every Ultra service is about your eulogy God I'm picking words right now and the only thing I can come up with blessed is the name of Jesus blessed is the name of the one true Living God come on if you don't have yet if you don't have the Holy Ghost today in your life speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance I want to instruct you for just a moment get away from who you are forget about all your junk and start putting words in your mouth that follow and talk about him eulogize the Waymaker The Peacemaker the one that can change your situation talk about the king of glory that can begin to do something in your life choose your words to say I won't simply stand here and say love you I love you but instead I'm gonna say you are my god get on the throne help me to get out of the way I trust you my soul says yes to you somebody needs to understand the poem Sunday mentality blessed is Jesus who has become our Salvation a word spoken in a way people would understand listen carefully friend on this Palm Sunday help me for one moment I want to understand and I want you to understand as well in Luke Chapter 19 Verse number 9 Jesus said unto him this today is salvation come to this house for so much as he also as he also is son of Abraham for the son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost when I notice and I understand how the writer pinned these words notice again in your King James version they would be in red best they can determine this was spoken by Jesus if that's the case then you have to understand something Jesus has come looking for you I said Jesus has come looking for you and you might decide within yourself that your life is too messed up too confused too broken too busted and out of its way and you may not ever understand the true power of who Jesus is but I've come to tell you today Jesus is looking for you what he wants to get from you at this moment is a simple thing understanding of his capability in your life come on I I say I know I'm I'm old-timer in so many ways and I I'm gonna I'm gonna repeat a song that we used to sing this world is not my home just passing through my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue y'all somebody act like you know that the Angels beckon anybody hear it can't feel that home in this world come on say it now ready oh Lord you know I have no friend like you because of Heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do from Heaven's open door and I can't feel in this world the indication of the old-timer who pinned those words is simply this once I figured out who Jesus was I couldn't put my foot back on planet Earth and make sense of nothing that's why I've come to declare to somebody on a Palm Sunday you know in a few days something's about to take place something by the transpire that's going to shake the entire world I get that but before listen to me but before you ever heard father forgive them they don't know what they're doing you've got to have a revelation of I've come to bless it the name of the Lord and blessed his wonderful name for who he is I identify with the reality that first of all I've got to come worship and blessed is the one that comes in the name of the Lord and if I get to that point in the future I'm going to hear him say I forgive you when Jesus was nailed to a cross make no mistake it wasn't something fun and happy that everybody stood around and clapped and cheered no it was one of the ugliest scenes that you could ever put into your mind but I've come to tell you today before Jesus could ever complete what he did on a cross he had to get people to recognize the fact without him you're nothing without him you are no one but if you recognize Hosanna blessed is the king blessed is the name I choose my words today I come to love you then when the time comes and the testimony changes what are we going to do with this Jesus where are we going to put him recognize this friend understand the story next week we'll get in a little deeper to that one but understand what was happening Jesus said come come on brother John Jesus had come to change the world and on a Palm Sunday in its origin you need to understand something there is no way that you would ever understand the value of him dying on a cross until you first expected him to come in and you worship Him because the last part of that is simply this they remove him from a cross and place him in a borrowed tomb and at that point at that point Everything Changes next week when you come back here for Easter I will pick up where I left off where have they taken him he's not in the tune I just made a visit there and he ain't there where did they put the master where have has he gone come on back next Sunday bring somebody with you let them figure out the where let them identify with the fact that first of all it's got to be blessed is the name of the Lord I identify with you I speak that word and then Jesus will die on a tree you better know that but he'll speak the word again I forgive you you don't know what you're doing but there is something in this sacrifice but then when you come look and where have they put him stand with me please everybody in this room a word translated blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord our God understand friend that when we are reading in Old Testament prophecies as challenging as you and I have it today to Simply understand the why and the what for imagine those who were there with Jesus listening firsthand him talk about things him pick up the scroll and begin to read it only to get a partial way into it and stop the reading and roll it up and hand it back to them and sit down and everybody's scratching their heads saying what you just desecrated all of this and Jesus use the simple words that you and I understand today simply as this I have been reading from the old prophetic word but today friends today I come to fulfill those words again a eulogy a word fitly spoken simply says this today every single one of us have to identify we must identify with who he is he is Lord and savior the only thing that can make sacrifice of the only thing they knew to do at that moment when they took those palm branches and began to wave it they were indicating in their own way when we were in Egypt when our great great greatest of greatest Grandparents were back there they could only use the waving of sacrifice the waving of identifying in certain aspects and that is to the one who you consider to be first highest greatest have you noticed today in most weddings I don't know that I've ever been to a wedding to where the groom would walk in and everybody would stand and wave branches at them because of their greatness y'all been to one of those nah nah you know I know in my situation there's times Josh that I have to I have to play that part sweetheart you're so great you you knew you knew I didn't know but you knew and I said understand it at that point listen to me carefully but when it comes to relationship in 2023 there was something Dynamic that is happening in our world people are pulling all they can at our attention towards God and they're pulling it to themselves to their stuff to their children to the things they can acquire and all the while God should be getting bigger but instead it's getting smaller I found out this week again as Pastor I feel compelled to to do reading on current events and stuff because I think it's important that I somehow can understand what's happening we are we are living in a world that we are told as Christians that we are a threat to society and I don't know that I understand all of that sister Stacy but only thing I can think of is when I'm in a restaurant and I bless my food I'm offending the cook but I'll tell everybody I'm going to pray for my food I don't know who's in that kitchen I don't know what they have been going through if they've had a good day or a bad day and I ain't about brother Seth take a chance on it Lord bless his food I don't even care if you bless the hands that prepared it just don't let it make me sick come on somebody now you can bless the hands and prepared it too but here's my point looked at then by summon society that would simply say you Christians are just causing issues your ways are old antiquated no basis for it and I would stand there and I would look him in the eye and I would say I 100 agree when you say that about your God but friend you don't know like I know What the Lord Has Done For Me you don't know like I know you can doubt it if you want to but hear me I know who got me out of bed this morning come on I know where my breast came from today it's from hey God come on you can leave it to chance if you want to but as for me we're going to bless the Lord we're going to serve the Lord why because the you we eulogize with it we select words and when we climb out of bed in the morning and we declare this is the day the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it what we are doing is we are establishing from the first breath in our body what part God's Gonna Play in blessed is the name of the Lord God come on somebody every day you stand in a gap to say Lord this day I Choose You This Day Lord I'm Gonna Love You This Day Lord I'm gonna run to you this day Lord my babies are coming to you this day come on hear me this day Lord I know my backside child's coming home this day Lord I'm choosing to pray over them this day Lord there is happiness and joy in my family and in my house this day Lord there is provision you're making a way come on that's a daily Choice you've got to make sometimes it's a moment's choice today I invite you to come to this Altar and you choose your word and you bring it and you wave it before the Lord it might be that you come and you simply call him Waymaker it might be that you come today and you simply wave your arms to him in blessing and praise and simply say you are you are you are everything anything in all things come on some of y'all scientifically smart folks might even want to come and just simply call them you are omniscient you are omnipresent you are omnipotent you have all of the ability come on somebody needs a word spoken today at an altar to declare I'm going to believe in the blessings of God I'm going to choose to love the Lord today I'm not about to leave it to chance but I'm coming to bless the name of Jesus come on choose your word blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord come on somebody make it today where you understand the power of sacrifice that's right lift your voice lift your voice to the Lord I've come to bless you Jesus all right yes when the darkness closes in Lord still I will say come on Jesus name I honor you today Lord I love you today Jesus come on somebody choose your word today you are my king you are my redeemer you are a nail in a sure place now come on talk about him choose your words and give it to us that's right fill this place your name blessed be the name of the Lord great is your name yes to say the Blessed Be it be a name Palm Sunday Palm Sunday here's the challenge if I may give me just a couple more seconds here I'll watch the clock couple more seconds I wonder in 2023 how many of us have come to the house of the Lord simply looking for Lazarus what was man if we go to church today well we can just see all this yeah we'll just see what happened that's the only reason I want to go Jesus is sitting there smelling up the whole room with the oil that was on his feet huh now Judas the money man sorry Dakota the money man all he could say is look what I could have done with that and all the young lady was concerned with is look what I've done with that and how he responded to what I did with that there is there was no physical way to gather that oil back up and put it back in that bottle Brother Sam it was already broken and it was already dumped out and it was already rubbed in and it was already placed there in sacrifice the money guy's all upset and mad and Jesus simply says I wish to God a house full of people would come in here with the understanding that when I die they're going to need Salvation And if they'll identify with who I am while I'm here I can change their life from here on out so today in this place stop looking for Lazarus begin to make your sacrifice made unto the Lord I choose to worship you today Lord I know what you can do you've demonstrated it a hundred times but today Lord I choose to Simply pour out upon you Lord God the greatest and the best that I have come on is there anybody that Will Worship the Lord wholeheartedly today from your very Inside Out Lord I choose today to love you and to Worship You Come On In The Name of Jesus whether he does anything else in your life you know he can but you're going to love him today as if he's controlling everything in your life play brothers are on come on lift your voice to the Lord come on lift your voice to the Lord I'm not looking Lord for anything except a place to pour out this sacrifice foreign that's right that's right I give it to you Lord I give it to you Jesus it's the best that I have I pour it out but that fragrance Lord fill the whole house that everybody that walks in know that I've been here pouring it out for you Jesus come on guys come on he's a mighty good Lord the name of Jesus name yes thank you come on go get a hold of somebody right now men go find another man ladies find a lady come on we're going to pray one for another in this atmosphere we're going to trust that God is moving come on that God is blessing come on pray for them right now Lord let prayer work for them right now come on in the name of Jesus I believe you Lord for great things honor them Lord God as they connect with you as they plug into you God honor them Lord let them know be on the shadow of any doubt God that your life was given on a tree for them come on pray for him Jesus Jesus let them understand Lord the truth of your word the power of the cross the power of an empty tomb come on that's right pray one for another pray one for another in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus now Rejoice together everyone come on rejoice in the Lord oh and again I say rejoice blessed be the name blessed be the name blessed be the name of the
