Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord

  • The psalmist wrote: blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen for His own inheritance.
  • The United States needs God — His hand on our lives, His blessing, and His glory resting on this nation.
  • Simply taking a breath of air, or blinking your eyes, is itself an experience of the blessing of God.
  • An inheritance is prepared by the work of another and then received; God has a plan, and what He has done is what His people inherit.

Scriptures: Psalm 33:12

Happy is that people whose God is the Lord

  • The psalmist also wrote: happy is that people whose God is the Lord.
  • Knowing and recognizing the blessings of God brings happiness — the assurance, the calm, and the peace in the storm.
  • Think about Him first thing in the morning and last thing before you lay down at night; dwell on His grace, His goodness, His promises, and His miracles.

Scriptures: Psalm 144:15

Rehearse the blessings for the next generation

  • Parents and grandparents are challenged to keep talking about the blessings of God, so that children and grandchildren are made aware of them and can experience them too.
  • Young people do not have everything figured out yet, but God's blessings are true and faithful, and a future can be built on them.

A July challenge: thanksgiving and prayer

  • Through this month of July, on Wednesday nights, consider the goodness, the mercy, and the blessings of God.
  • Spend time tonight in prayer, thanking Him for what He is doing right now, and let His word illuminate the path in front of you.
  • Without God, without His word and His promise, we are not going to make it — so let Him continue to be number one.

Scripture index: Psalm 33:12; Psalm 144:15.

your family uh do trust that you're having a great week in the middle of this summer time we are going to go to the word of the Lord for just a little bit tonight talk about God's blessing in our life but first let's pray Lord love you and thank you for another opportunity to go to your word thank you for the anointing and the blessings that's on your word for the joy and the Peace of the Holy Ghost that rests upon us pray Lord you would bless this time tonight bless this word let us Never Forget You Lord and it's all about you in Jesus name we honor and love you and we glorify you in your name we pray amen the blessings of the Lord I I realize that most of us could probably take several hours probably several days even consider the blessings of the Lord how that the hand of the Lord has been Upon Our Lives through so many circumstances and situations how that many times we really can't even describe situations and circumstances that have happened or things that have come to us the blessings of the Lord show up in so many different ways I know you know that but I want to remind you this evening in this Bible study how that God knows what he's doing and His blessings are on you now we have just finished Fourth of July weekend here we are the midst of July in the heat I want to read to you a verse the psalmist wrote in Psalm 33 verse number 12 blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance um in this United States of America we need God we we need his hand on our lives we need his Blessing we need his glory to rest upon this nation I realize that there are so many conflicts and things going on across our United States so many questions of the past and the present and even the future I want to ask each of you to prayerfully consider where you stand in that question tonight are you a part of the blessing are you receiving the blessing of God or are you joining with the ranks of those who have decided that God's no longer relevant in our lives I I want you to know that if you'll simply take a breath of air you just experienced the blessing of God if you'll blink your eyes a few times you just experienced the blessing of God the psalm is writing here in chapter 33 he describes that the nation the group of people the the connected culture if you will if you will continue to call on God let him be God then you will be a blessed Nation even says that the people have been chosen for an inheritance that God has a plan that's what inheritance is it's something that's been done a blessing that's been given as hard work that's been done and then you're going to give that inheritance to somebody they're going to inherit from you from your account from your will they'll receive what you have done that's what the psalmist is writing here the nation it calls upon God there's an inheritance there's something you will receive from the blessings of God in your life moms and dads grandparents I want to challenge you to continuously talk about the blessings of God let your family your children your grandchildren let them be made aware of the blessings of God that you experience so that they too can experience the blessings another verse that the psalmist wrote thinks very very important for us to understand and that is in Psalm 144 Bible says in verse number 15 happy is that people that is in such a case yeah happy as that people whose God is the Lord when you know the blessings of God and you recognize you're living a blessed life than therein is happiness knowing the Assurance the calm the peace in the storm the answers that come when everybody else is running to and fro looking for answers you can rest upon the promises and blessings of God in fact psalmist said it that happy is the people whose God is the Lord if you will continuously allow God to be first in your life think about him first thing in the morning think about him last thing before you lay down at night talk about his grace and his goodness all the time remember the good things of God dwell on the Promises of God the word of God the anointing of God the miracles of god look and think and consider the great things that God has and what he is doing in your life in your children um to you young people to you teenagers to you children you don't have all the answers yet you don't have all of the everything figured out yet but I will tell you this that God's blessing will continue through your life it might be that it appears things are chaotic perhaps or even questionable in your life I want you to know the blessings of God are true they're faithful they stand on you can build your future on those blessings having come through the Fourth of July week and and knowing that the Independence Day that we call it the time of Liberation if you will way back in history for the United States of America it's a reminder for you and I that God truly does have a plan for blessing us and keeping us I want to challenge you in this little time tonight it's midweek it's Wednesday evening I want to challenge you to spend some time talking to the Lord spend some time remembering the blessings of God give him thanks for that invest in your future by thanking him for what he's doing right now Mom and Dad grandparents kids alike we are a blessed Nation we have so many things to be thankful for I want you to recognize and realize that without God you're not going to make it without his word without his promise you're not going to succeed you meet him psalmist wrote two different occasions and he wrote in other ways as well but he reminded us that the nation that calls on God is blessed the man that believes in the power of God is a happy man so in this month of July on Wednesday nights I want you to consider the goodness of God the mercy and the blessings of God allow him to continue to work in your life and to be number one spend some time tonight in prayer talking to the Lord let him show you his path let his word illuminate the path in front of you as you move forward I love you I believe in you and and never forget you're a blessed person you're a blessed Nation you're a blessed family until next time God bless you
