Doctrine: Distinction

if you got your Bible you're going to need it we're going to continue in our study um go ahead and we're going to start in Genesis so you can get your Bible out there some of you flip pages and some of you flip to the right you know you got to thumb it on over but I'm glad you're here we are this is is our second session in the month of September Doctrine is what we're talking about accelerate that's the theme for this year we've every week talked about aspects of acceleration um it's time to get your foot off the break and hit the gas let's move forward that's what we've been discussing this month we are continuing and the theme for each Wednesday night we're talking Doctrine Apostolic truth and Doctrine in the word of God now again I have asked for our young people our teenagers to make sure they're here moms and dads take notes so you can help them later to understand what's happening last week we started anybody remember what we talked about last week Holiness that's that's the beginning of being Godly be ye holy for I'm whole okay so there there's an indication here in the scripture that we as as individuals we as people who follow Christ people who love the word of the Lord people who give ourselves to the things of God we have to understand that being holy is possible Holiness unto the Lord is possible in in this particular series of apostolic Doctrine and teaching we are I I want you to realize that not everybody teaches and preaches the same teaching Doctrine you you have thousands of churches across the country and you have that many different teachings and doctrines if you will um every church for an example spends time instructing the the the church members on how they spend their finances how they invest their time what they do in their activities at church in away from church Lifestyles there's a lot of different aspects that a church family can identify with do we agree with that here at CAC we've got people from all over the place that have gathered that come here on Sundays and Wednesdays and as you noticed with the announcement several times through the week we're all from a different background different Walk of Life we all have history some of us are historical and others are hysterical it's all together in a church family that okay how many glad you're not the same as the one sitting next to you you have to say it that loud all right y'all pray for brother Nate this week um we're all different we have very distinct ways of doing things understanding things and comprehending things some of us are have a technical mind some have engineering type Minds we we come from different places but allow me to emphasize one more time tonight when it comes to the word of God it is is the only thing that you can stand on that is forever settled wasn't built so that you could argue it and then try to come out on top it's already on top all right so Mom and Dad you can lean on that as you're trying to teach your uh children on your young people your teenagers in your house you can teach them how to love and how to live and how to enjoy life and so forth all of that is because the word of God is already settled all right let's look at I asked you to go to Genesis chapter 1 and for those that are concerned I will watch the clock they just turned it on so we'll see if it does us any good Genesis chap 1 verse 26 this is a great place to begin tonight's lesson God said let us make man in our image after our likeness and let let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and over over the Earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the Earth verse 27 says this so God created man in his own image the image of God created he him male and female created he them verse 28 God blessed them and God said unto them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the Earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea over the foul of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth everybody say Genesis Beginnings this is the book that we have according to uh the writers according to what Moses put together according to what was done in order and so forth of how information was to be passed to us through translation in the King James we don't have time T not to go through all that but here we sit what we call the book of Beginnings we know that God created the Heaven the Earth God spoke and things happened he spoke to the Earth and from the earth came animals he spoke to the things and from that came birds and he spoke to that and from that came fish and spoke to that and it gave out its seed and it yielded itself it did what the voice of God said everybody say God's voice what did God speak to when he created he spoke to the source Earth give it up water give it up give it up he he spoke to it so when we get to verse 26 some would try to confuse you and say then he says here God said let us how can that be a God says us God is speaking to the source he's once again stating let us make man in our image after our likeness it sounds puristic it sounds as as if God is speaking to a committee or a church board or a family or something but the fact is God is speaking to himself and this is how Moses identified God did not go to the cows that he just pulled out of the dirt he didn't go and inquire with the labyrith or he didn't go and inquire with the sea monsters and things instead he says I'm going to make man in my image so he says speaking to himself let us make therefore if you continue if you were to stop there you could have a very challenging time trying to understand grammar but continue God created man in what image it's a singular the explanation now that the author gives you is God created man in his own image in the image of God created he him male female created he them understand something when God said come out of the ground cow God knew exactly what a cow would do he knew a cow could not be Itself by itself for very long so the cow would require what a bull we okay with this because when the cow and the bull come together what do they make bullette I don't know make another animal just basic as it gets young folk you understand this right God knew what it was going to take so when God according to Genesis 1 again remember the writing here God created man in his own image and the image of God created him and then there's a semicolon there it says male and female created he them then God blessed them God brought the male and female to a position to where they could be blessed Pastor why are we going this route tonight tonight we are going to speak using this as our foundation we're going to talk on the doctrine of who we are follow me from the very beginning of the book of Genesis we find and we know that the the voice of God moves the spirit of God moves upon the face of the waters How can there be a voice of God if God is not a flesh how can the spirit of God speak let there be when God is not flesh have anyone here ever heard the spirit speak certainly probably sounded like you CU he's using your voice or he spoke like through someone else but in the beginning beginning God speaks the activity of the word of God the activity of the spirit of God says let this happen the only way that the writer could put this down was and God said let there be there's a an action and an activity that happens here the culmination of all of this the very good is God made Adam and Adam by the translation simply means mankind God created Humanity through that of course we we disc over that from the dust this is so intriguing to me that God simply spoke to dirt spoke to water spoke to the source and said let there let there let there and out of that comes these things the trees the seeds it begins to produ and the animals and so forth come out but when it came to man to Adam mankind God developed out of what was already there the dust of the Earth and God said I'm going to do something to this chunk of dirt that okay Bible says that he breathed life into this piece of dirt a living soul is what it became it became mankind out after the image of God we okay with this 20123 there a whole lot of folk that want to be wise and want to understand and I want us to understand but listen friend if we're going to take somebody else's explanation of it and we ourselves don't spend time trying to understand it shame on us so we're going to spend a little time tonight talking about this culmination of what God did he breathed breath into unlike any other creature that became alive that moved in the water that moved through the air that walked across the creeping things that moved about God gave adam mankind his breath God's spirit it became a living Soul Bible continues of course as we read here in the first chapter male and female created him them God created male and female everybody say that with me God created male and female 2023 you want some explanation simply say it with me God created male and female why is that important from the very beginning in the garden what was the enemy's only tactic to use confuse the perfectness of God with question what is going on in our world today is not simply by happen stance the challenge is how fast can I confuse somebody listen friend mom and dad grandma grandpa you may have this down with no questions and no room for error nor discussion you've got this but there are three and four year olds that are exposed to things every day and they're trying to figure it out lest we allow the Next Generation to suffer destruction we better understand what the word says you better spend time trying to get it so that you know what what the word says and what the scripture says cuz the enemy is a great big liar the interesting thing that I have to listen to me that I have to make sure that we understand is what God was in inv involving at this moment of creation God was making a distinction between male and female he was not confused it was not an oops it was not a oh no it was distinct both of them had heads both of them had toes both of them had nose both of them had ears both of them had arms do we agree with that look around you if you've got a right arm put it in the air some people were confused that was my left you're wrong went wait a minute yeah but I will tell you I'm going to break the news to you Society culture of our great United States of America America there are still differences between male and female they are distinct they complement one another they are made for that it's not physical only it is emotional it is mental my wife is very very kind to me because she knows I complete her ask her it's in your notes I wrote it there okay we compliment one another I have strengths that she doesn't have she has stren strengths that I don't have doesn't mean she has a great big more weaknesses than I do I have the more weaknesses she no joking she reminds me often see I didn't have to say it the needs of a male the needs of a female are different the emotional standing of a male the emotional understanding of a female is different does not make one better greater more powerful than the other it's simply distinct I wish somebody would say it again with me distinct thought patterns desires they are different they were given natural desires toward one another that's why when it speaks of the end time that natural affections would be changed it's a trick of the enemy listen to me care carefully Genesis 2:8 says this and the Lord God said ready it is not good that the man should be alone I will make him and help meet for him the man mankind it's not good for mankind to be alone there needs to be support help me there needs to be connection help me there needs to be a way that this man can be supported to be strong enough what what did God give mankind what was their responsibility we read it just a moment ago in the first chapter what's it say you have dominion over what man that's that's a very intimidating has anybody here ever ever tried to have dominion over a Silverback Gorilla and I I get nervous standing in the zoo with that dude over behind glass this I mean I'm just saying a big lion standing This Tall with a big old head and I'm just saying we went to Canada this last year and we were driving through the foresty thing up there and a grizzly bear brother drawing comes out of the woods and it was the coolest thing and I rolled my window down like I could take a picture Logan I didn't want to get there you're good like watch you don't got to come here I can do this huh right step's in the back seat with his camera I got you dad I got you I got you all right we got it he's right there he's right in front of us they don't have to tell me bear what you look like I don't need to know what your breath smells like come on somebody but God gave man dominion over these things he even gave him the challenge of naming them that to me is a message and a study for another day four legs big head horse next four legs big head mle come on Ben how many words can you come up with cow dog Labrador Retriever I'm J come on y'all help me y'all know where I'm coming from right mankind called Adam male female were created for a purpose listen to to me God knew exactly what it was going to take to be fruitful and multiply the very distinctness of humanity makes it possible to grow and Thrive can we tell you how important that is there was a family of 70 that went into captivity and came out three million strong multiplication is a good thing you may Bible scholar okay distinction by definition the act of perceiving someone or something as being not the same and often treating as separate or different the distinguishing of a difference I manyan those we're different the man and the woman they're distinct they're different again two arms two eyes a nose so forth but there are distinctions between them that set them apart God did that on purpose so question 2023 when you look at someone person how do you tell the distinction between them what are the things that you teach your children to look for long hair what else type of dress sure what else short hair sure what else what do you look for what is it Temperance okay are they tempered or not oh that you're going to get in trouble right here come on what are you looking for when you visualize distinctions fa show hair distinctions what else come on help me what is it Poise voice Poise voice that was a good one Poise voice what else how you carry yourself certainly with someone else come on help me don't leave me out of here what are you looking for character will take it someone else go to the right bathroom or the left bathroom understood someone else anyone is that all okay who they gather around certainly I think this sounds just like a silly question to you because it's Common Sense welcome to 2023 okay there are things that you look for distinctions listen to me our world this is always always I've wondered in my mind why is it so that there are there is a portion of the media there is a portion of our society and culture it's almost like they are bent on the fact that they want to make sure that they blur all the lines anybody notice that they want to just blur the lines no distinction no separation that's always intriguing and yet the most interesting thing is this they still sell personal products that are male and female they still have personal garments that you can buy that's male and female they advertise to distinguish between male and female hair styles are distinguished between male and female the clothing lines they spend millions of dollars on Billboard WS an advertisement to say this is for her try to buy this for him this is what he'll like this is how she likes it they have all of these advertizing dollars cajillions of dollars a year to make sure that a man's appetite is wetted and a woman's appetite is wedded and yet there's a portion of society says there ain't no difference did nobody tell that clothing company over there that there's a different we didn't know we didn't know now come on y'all help me don't leave me out here some of you young folk you go shopping at some of these stores and I don't know how for every 21 I I challenge you D go in there and find something that'll fit you I to say herb you are you there huh H&M that store over I go to the mall size 31 pants and I'm like and if for me and I ain't seen a 31 waste I'm just saying man my wife I'm twice to man my wife married you know what I'm saying come on hang on to me hang on to me my my family we've been on a mission field we we were in U it's a very European Styles and she we'd go to the mall you know with the kids or whatever and hardly find anything my wife would say baby I don't know what size zero means I said babe that's not a zero that's a o oh hang on to me I still go in a department store and I see a men section and I see am I missing it so why all the confusion come on it's a little bitty portion of society that's some reason for some written again I'm on a camera tonight and this is on going to be people will be watching it I want you to understand something that God does not mess up the plan in our world in our culture that may try to spread a different rumor or doctrine is confusing the snot out of our young people listen to me regardless of what culture says regardless of what the culture is and where it's located there are still differences one of those tonight I want to talk about for the next little bit we okay we know there are distinctions I want to talk about dress how we present ourselves this is part of the apostolic Doctrine now right now I realize that some folk get very Beres put out when you start talking about what a person wears doesn't God just look at the outward when's the last time you heard that one no God looks at the inward so it shouldn't matter about the outward anybody here like tacos brother rob you like tacos what's your favorite one didn't matter right what's in it it a side of a dog man this is a good taco you know what I'm saying huh have you ever had a craving Seth for tacos every day huh and I can you your name middle name is crave right yeah me too I'm with you you ever crave something like that sister Jennifer you know what I'm talking about just doing a good taco with guacamole in it oh Lord Gees we F to have Revival y'all got sister Cy on her feet back there she's so thrilled listen to me but you go to a place you spend hours trying to find that place and you get there you order it it comes to your table and you open up the wrapper and it's just a big old hot dog ain't that the coolest thing ever what happened disappointed why Stay With Me now you don't even want the thing but you paid $7 for it and you're not about to throw it away so you eat it while you're upset I know even want this like this but I ain't throwing it away here's my point it matters inside and outside now I gave you a really silly explanation of that but we try to complicate things and we try to decide you know what as long as in my heart I love the Lord and I I trust him then outside shouldn't have any bearing on what people say or do if that were the case you would eat that hot dog and say it was a taco stay with me one of the very first notable distinctions in the scriptures is what Adam where are you I'm hiding why because we're naked who told you that who told you that something entered into vocabulary for the distinction that God did not intend but sin then what revealed something and so what did Adam and Eve do they tried to cover themselves dress matters hang on to me if it's just about the heart then they could have simply walked out from behind that bush or wherever they were were hiding and they could have simply said it's us here we are and my heart says that I'm still covered but my outside says no the enemy has one thing in mind is he simply wants to confuse and disregard the distinctions that God put into motion from the very beginning so Apostolic doctrine that we teach is that men and women should dress modest and represent Holiness anybody remember Holiness last week why because motive matters and if your question simply comes to me and says well Pastor how long is long enough how short is too short how much is too much how little is too little I don't know what did God say how many times have my wife and I said to this precious congregation we are not the fashion police we're not the fast police we're not the prayer time police I will not pull you over over on the side of the road after work tomorrow with lights in my car blazing what go what gold lights right cuz the police and fire and all that i' have to have a like a real Regal color and pull you overy hold on a second what are you looking where you get out we're going to inspect you huh I can tell right now yeah uhhuh you don't have you didn't wear that all day you changing the car how you know cuz you ain't got taco sauce on your shirt you're saying you're not going to get that from us why because it's a condition that you need to understand and it's a position that you need to take moderation is the key somebody once said to me and of course this particular one sticks out to me I'm going to stay on my notes Here what difference does it make what I wear as long as I love the Lord okay to me I'm not the police what does matter to me is if you're trying to present yourself to someone in a certain light or a certain way you need to check your motive of why you're doing it that way how many knows according to the scriptures there are ways that things need to be done modest is a term MO moderation for an example is avoiding extremes of behavior expression observing reasonable limits that's the definition of moderation modesty of course is is a form of this taking things and not being extreme with them how a person dresses says a whole lot about that person agreed huh you know I have been baffled many times I met a guy one time I was putting installing in a horse barn projectors sound equipment so that they could ride horses and put on this and they could teach equestri and stuff and they spent $150,000 on this equipment in a barn when I installed it I was at two big 12T screens on the they had a channel on RFD I didn't know what that even was it's rural something something TV so brother Rob I'm working and I go up to this store on the corner to get something to eat and there's an old fell in there with beat I mean he was had a beat up Chevrolet truck about half run overalls on t-shirts n n y boots are all slimy he walks in and Pops down and and they bring him his drink or whatever and I feel you know don't know who this is and he's sitting there and we're chat about I tell you what I been fell love with hard work out here and yeah I'm real I'm down here oh you're the one putting that in well that's that's good and his cell phone ring you all this silly thing and any may remember flip phones hold on a minute hello you man he okay okay what do I know I look at this guy and I'm like my wife my wife picks he bothers me all the time he said what would you wear if you was going to go have lunch with the president I said what president he said well there ain't but one I'm Logan I'm sitting there going I don't have no idea I'm I'm I'm enjoying this conversation he said 'I got an invite to go to the White House and eat lunch with the president record what order to wear my wife says I need a suit true story I look at him I went that's probably not a bad idea I don't see what difference it makes so he we chat a few he leaves in the lady and I said she said he owns all of this sir excuse me I'm trying to build a church I can carry what you can wear to my house uh does outside matter it makes a difference we okay with that listen how a person dresses says a lot about them you cannot present yourselves in the world around us simply as the world around us but you present yourself come on if you expect God to help you when you're in trouble then you should expect to help him when you're not in trouble representing him in the right way come on every one of you in here when you get in dire straight you're ready to pray and ask God to step in but what if God simply says why don't you represent me now come on the bad attitude the stinky words and all the junk that you do what does that say about your relationship with God why is it that nobody in here would would go out and and do drugs or or smoke this or drink that or turn that or do this or go there but when it comes to how you present yourself with what you put on wait a minute some would even call it legalism some would say cultish I would say freedom and the ability to say you know what that $900 box of of of decorated colog and all the stuff you're about to put on your face to make yourself look like something that you're not thank you oh you took it and you're going to be upset with me because I say you know what I choose not that to me that's Liberty some would even say you know what but if as long as I'm moderate with it yeah that's the same thing you know the the Bible doesn't say thou shalt not drink what does it say about wine in excess right hang on to me stay with me so I've had had this conversation with family before where the Bible says little wine for the stomach's sake I said good tell me what's a little wine is that this much or this much is it a t table tablespoon or is it four gallons had family member but the Bible says that so you ought to be able to drink I said fine I'll drink when do I stop well that's up to you really at what point then am I still sober enough and in my right mind to decide that's enough huh every drunk in a jail cell tonight going to say I should have not taken that last one but they should have thought of that before that last one here my dad always told me he was very wise he said son if you never start you'll never have to stop now we can all associate that with what we put in our body and alcohol drugs and stuff that makes no sense we can all say you know what that's wrong that's wrong that's bad but how come then we can cop an attitude when your Pastor's Wife dresses like she does because she wants to present herself to be somebody that says I love the Lord by how I dress not just by my hands in the air and you want to call that wrong that's good for her but not for me here's the question you need to ask yourself every time what motive is there what you wear matters every one of us have to decide how distinct that we need to be I do not have a take measure that I walk around with to measure your skirt length your sleeve length your hair length I don't my wife doesn't either as a pastor I am not committed to do that what I am committed to do is teach you that the holy ghost will lead you listen carefully for you young ladies you need to understand something there's a reason that there is distinction in dress you young men need to understand something there is a reason there's distinction in dress my wife is very kind to you young ladies and this was always the response that she gave to people how long should your sleeves be and she would simply say I want you to raise your hand hand right now Worship the Lord and that was her test cuz this is the thing if your sleeves are too short and this is as high as you go guess what just happened you just put the brakes on your praise cuz you don't want to do this and everybody see something when I was growing up my pastor walk right up to you and say no that's I can see through that shirt you need to go change that or when ladies would lift or even men would lift their hand you could see through and there's nothing left to imagination ain't happening here why because the enemy knows exactly what he's doing and if parents are having a hard time trying to teach their young ladies and their young men this is Holy this is Holiness unto the Lord some of somebody needs to spend some time in prayer and say Lord I'm not going to allow the pastor to come to me and pull my sleeve down or make me dress this way but instead Lord I want to be right in your eyes so I have had people so many time through my years of pastoring through my years on the mission field assistant pastor youth pastor all the other times I've been trying to help people people would say man you got to preach Holiness you got to scream Holiness you got to get Holiness in people and my response is always this how am I to do that cuz Holiness is a condition of what you know about God what did I say last week it's a reflection of your relationship with God and if you want to be a 100 miles from God and not demonstrate the goodness the glory and the righteousness of God then you do that your motive has already pushed you at a distance away from God I don't know about you there's sometimes that I want to scream for God but most of the time when I'm hurting and I'm in a place where I'm confused or I've got questions what I want to do is get close to God to where I can hear his voice when he simply speak speaks Holiness will draw you righteousness will draw you close to God so then what does dress have to do with it I can tell you what it has to do with it if you will depend on what God says through his word through his teaching through his Spirit he will help you old generation I understand man this the sleeve length the dress length the hair length all of those things developed people and a lot lot of folk got a bad idea and a bad attitude about what was going on and the fact of the matter is simply this the greatest challenge for Humanity is what submission submitting to what the scripture says if you go back to the first five books of the Bible y'all stay with me it's just 8 o' I've got a few more minutes everybody okay in your Bible the book of Deuteronomy you got you got Genesis and Exodus Leviticus and numbers and then there's Deuteronomy was the emphasis to the church to the people of God about how they were to live and the laws and the precepts that they were to have Deuteronomy 22 all everybody's read this if you're Apostolic at all verse number five the woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man neither shall a man put on a woman's garment for all that do so are Abomination unto the Lord thy God everybody know that verse what is it does it say PR straightforward don't put that on don't put that on don't put that on don't put that on listen to this listen to this listen to how they continue don't stop there verse number six if a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way in any Tree on the ground whether they be young ones or eggs and the damn sitting upon the young or upon the eggs Thou shalt not take the damn with the young but Thou shalt in any wise let the damn go and take the young to thee this talking about the bird mama bird sitting on eggs you see that you've got to have preference to understand that it is her that is laying these eggs and she's trying to birth another bird in the egg we get that leave her alone take the eggs and therefore the eggs have a chance and you can use them stay with me but if thou shout in any wise let them the the damn go take the young to thee that that it may be well with thee and that thou mayest prolong thy days verse eight when thou buildest a new house then Thou shalt make a Battlement for thy roof that thou bring not blood upon thine house if any man fall from th verse nine Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with diverse seeds lest the fruit of thy seed which thou Hast sown in the fruit of thy V Vineyard be defiled verse number 10 Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together verse number 11 Thou shalt not shalt not wear a garment of divver sorts as Woolen and linen together Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture wherewith thou coverest thyself this is a whole lot of teaching that God was giving to his people why does it matter he goes as far as to say don't take linen and mix it with wool what it said why you think it doesn't matter the distinctions God is telling his people it matters anybody here Bible scholar what did the priest wear when they were in the Tabernacle working a what a linen epod they wore linen that's what David put on he put on the linen ephod why because that was by itself what the priest wore but the common folk that every day folk would wear wool why because it lasted longer it would protect them in the Sun and in the wind and in the cold days and stuff they God knew that this would be the part of humanity that would live day in and day out my question then today if God was so specific to them why is he not then ask specific with us God even says at this point when you build a house you better make sure that roof is strong enough otherwise when a war happens and the roof caves in you're going to have Bloodshed in your home don't build a halfhazard built home make sure that it does its proper job let me tell you something about how things work when it comes to how you present yourself in your dress and what how you I'm not nobody's asking you to to buy a $3,000 suit nobody's asking you to to put on a dress that's this or that what I'm telling you is this if you truly love God and you want to serve him with your whole heart don't let the little things be the obstacles that cause you to separate yourself from God you might have to separate yourself from somebody but I will promise promise you if that somebody is not supporting you you don't need them in your life anyway this is Apostolic Doctrine Jesus goes to the well at Samaria what happens what did the lady say New Testament why are you talking to me seeing that you're a Jew and I'm a well how did she know that how did he know what she was anybody ready for it cuz he's God that's why she could run away from that well and run home and say I ain't never met nobody like this guy he knows everything about my past he knows what I'm doing right now y'all need to come check this guy out listen to me carefully and I'm bring it to a close it's 8:05 for you guys your your coupon is still good the details that God gives to his people was specific why there will come a time that you will be tested there will come a moment when you need to understand that if you're planting a Vineyard and you bring in this different kinds of seeds and you plant them with the grapes that you should be planting and that different stuff comes up you could lose everything you have because you didn't pay attention to the detail if you see a bird sitting on a nest with eggs and you take both of them and kill them what did you just do you stop the Next Generation the multiplying God knew that about Humanity if you do not set standards for yourself and for your home and for your family the Next Generation I promise you they will not hold to that level they will hold a level below that because every generation does that we'd be foolish to think that in the day and age in which we live that dress doesn't matter I read it last week what's wrong with Holiness it is what our world needs now more than anything it would solve so many of our world's problems if people just desired to be holy before God now I know I realize we no longer wear tunics somebody say Amen why did they wear tunics back in that day history people CU this was where Walmart sold no it is not true May did I can tell you why because when when the loom was first invented and they made with wool they made garments for the men and the women to wear do you think for a moment they were interested in doing as much sewing as they could do no they made this you know they push between they weave it they get it done they go to the end they stop at the end they take a knife and they cut it what shape is it and what do they do with it oh that's a flat piece of did things do you realize that they wore shoes in the Old Testament they didn't wear Nike they didn't wear Air Jordans they wore a piece of leather wrapped around their foots tied on so that they could walk you may know where iron shoe boy I'm getting so sidetracked iron shoes came from soldiers were wear them why because of the trol that would be laying on the ground if they walked on them what would it do it' break their foot so they developed these SES on the shoe so they could walk over these spikes that have been thrown onto the ground listen to me there's a reason for why you do what you do I was told multiple times growing up you know what there are things that I teach and I give to you my pastor would say because I love you and what I am trying to do is I am not trying to keep you from going out there as much as I'm trying to keep that from coming in here and if you don't establish some boundaries and limits in your life how you dress how you act what you look like then when that wolf comes in he's going to know exactly how to get over the fence because it's a weak spot and you're not going to be able to stand and if you don't understand that as you grow and learn now there is there room for mistakes most certainly but some mistakes literally will kill you am I lion a lion can get through a hole in the wall and if it kills something guess what you're not going to get back what it kills stay with me you have to declare apostolics we have to learn the doctrine and teachings is simply this there is a distinction between what men and women wear Old Testament New Testament you might declare right now but our society sets this standard and it says this if that's the case then I will tell you this the next society and culture will say something different and by the time it gets to your children or grandchildren or great-grandchildren it's not not going to have anything of value in it now I'll tell you my granny was this tall I've said it a million times and she dressed as far as I'm concerned holy as it got the dress length the sleeve length the hair length and all she was Apostolic top to bottom and I'm no beyond the shadow of any doubt y'all don't don't judge me on this but I am certain that right now if she walk through that door some things she would wonder about she did it to me why you got that on oh granny assist this showing what's in your heart it's showing that attitude didn't your mom and daddy tell you not to wear or dress it that way yeah but they don't you know I bought it it's my money exactly you need to learn how to invest your money in Wise things my granny love loved me huh I'll tell you man when I paid for my first haircut man I was living large dad go get your haircut down there John down at the barers Sha he'll get you going I he did and I said make leave it a little extra there yeah that looks better you know okay I got home my dad said great haircut go back no dad already paid the guys $3 go back oh it say no my dad and his 135 lbs came right up to me and said you're going to go back in there and you're going to tell him to cut it right I said what's wrong with this dad said you didn't hear what I told you and because you disobeyed you're going to go in there and face it now brother n you know what I did I went back I walked in he said Dad didn't like it did he no you me fix it please and don't charge me $3 more dollars y'all think that's silly you know what I learned you know what I learned that day I was submitting to my dad's Authority and I didn't even realize it but if I would have if I would have walked out of that barber shop and went into my dad's house and I would have said to him I don't care what you said what do you think would have happened I was not fond at all living on the street I didn't want to go there I've told y'all my testimony I went in the military right out of high school I got out of the military I came home my mom and dad said you're welcome to stay here your room's right there as long as you're in by 10:00 and your room's clean straightened up you do your own laundry and take care of your stuff that was a rule yes sir not a problem it lasted about two weeks and then of course I'm 21 almost 22 years old I've been around the world World in military I come home from work one day and my dad said hey buddy I need you to get in the van with me dad drove one little van I said okay I climb in the van we take off pull out a drive down the street take a right take a right we get out he said get out it's a trailer it's 40 feet long by 8 feet wide I said what who lives here Dad he says you do here's the key I said huh he said it cost you 200 a month this is how you pay it you got to get the electric and water put in your name M's going to come here do what you want he handed me the key and I'm standing there dad I got to place it no you don't I say you don't love me no he said dad said I love you too much I refuse to ruin my life because I'm worried that you're going to ruin yours here you can do what you want but if you're not going to live by what I establish that tells me you're not submitted to my authority and I have the right to do this I went home and I got my little bitty things that I had what two or three things I had and I went and I sat down in that place brother drn would you come and I sat at the little table that had two chairs and I sat there and I said what did I do my dad wasn't mad at me he drove by every day and checked on me knocked on the door honked his horn pulled up in the drive just to check on me and I didn't know for years and years and years brother Rob what that meant till I had two kids and I learned what respect authority and submission was and the little things about how you dress you may not think it matters but I promise you righteousness exalts Nation the apostles were very specific and it read come on Matthew Mark Luke John The Acts of the Apostles what is right after that fifth book what is it keep going all of the those were letters to whom the world and in that teaching what did he talk about what did they write to them this is how you do it you will read it today and your morning morning devotion you'll go W Ephesians is a great book Corinthians wow then it gets to that chapter in Corinthians that talks about loving people and greatest is love and you go oh that's hard then it gets to that when wives be under submission to your husband W can't go there why because that submission is such a hard word let me tell you something in any relationship if you're not submitted to each other it will not stand if you can't understand Authority in your life I promise you all you're doing is milking a cow that you cannot drink the milk from because sooner or later it's going to destroy you I can promise you this one thing the majority of divorces happen because no they don't want to submit to each other they don't want to commit to each other fully what do you think's going to happen when you stand before God on Judgment day and you try to tell him but did not cast out demons in your name and didn't I do this in your name and the Lord's going to Simply say what is your name here or is it not and if it's not he's going to say I never what does that word translate it's the same thing Adam knew wife and conceived it's relationship because of submission I don't have to come by you and pull on your sleeve and say that needs to be an inch longer I don't need to come my wife don't need to come by you young lady and say you need to add two inches to the your skirt you know how I can tell what's going on in your life is on Monday prayer alter time during service if you don't ever break this carpet Realm up here in the Altar and you sitting the back acting like your Life's good I'm going to tell you right now the devil's lying to you and you're sooner or later going to have to make a decision am I submitted to the word of God if I am I am going to do what the apostles Doctrine teaches and I am going to run to him and let the Lord God help me I don't have time tonight to talk about how we tried to teach our children on Holiness and how to teach them to dress and present themselves I I don't have time tonight to go because it was our way it was how we had to do it and I don't I'm not going to stand here tonight and it's 8:18 I'm trying to bring this down but I'm not going to stand here tonight and say men you should not wear this or go there women you should not wear this or do this I I I I can't what I'm going to tell you is this get in the presence of God and ask him Lord what's long enough what's short enough what's righteous and if the the Lord says do it to hear that's the limit that's the line you know what you should do with all Gusto and joy you should run pass that line into the presence and as close as you can get and say but Lord what if I get right up next to you see what I wear you may not like and it may not bother you and it may not send you to hell but if I don't listen to what God's telling me it will me I pray in our generation for a Revival of conviction I don't want the pastor's wife to have to tell me how to live I want to live what God's telling me to do I don't want to have to wait until the preacher gets mad at me because I did or said it wrong because my spirit and attitude stinks now because I've not been listening and I've not been submitting myself to him I have never in my years of pastoring and my years of missions work and my years of working with Humanity in the best way I know how I have never had to tell somebody listen ma'am you're probably just a little too holy you're probably I think you're too righteous I want to back off of that never had to say that to anybody but I have stood at casket sides and looked at young people that lost their lives took their lives and I've stood there and said they had such a problem with submitting to what God Said look what happened I can't do anything about I can't help I have watched dear close friends of mine walk out of the church doors get in their car and never come back to the house of God and I never knew why until years later I didn't want nobody telling me what to do I would to God when I was growing up making mistakes that I would have listened more I'm thankful that my Mom and Dad loved me enough to say no these are the limits this is the line watched my dad throw out clothes that I thought was cool and I bought and my dad said you ain't wearing that Dad it's just I don't care you're not going to embarrass me and you and everybody else dad why is that embarrassing because I told you not to do it anybody remember the old style because I said so and everybody in this room tonight anybody watching online you're going to say I don't work with this generation yeah look how that's turned out stand with me please it's 8:20 8:21 what you put on your body how you interact with others how you spend time with people matters every single letter that was written to the church in the New Testament was written to explain to them and express to them why things were done how they needed to act and interact with people come on some of the cultures back then they were they were sacrificing their children on the altars they were prostituting themselves on the steps of the church Paul and these authors back then were saying can't do that you can't go there and we read that now we're like wow how does that translate to 2023 I'll tell you how it's submitting to the word of God Pastor don't say thou shalt not wear Thou shalt not drink okay then you take the time and you go into the history and you study the context of it and the reason it's put there I can promise you this if you'll dig deep enough you'll find why God told his people to do or not to do something you can't mix wool and linen why because the priest day will stand in my presence and they will have to have followed my rule and if they walk in with Woolen clothes on they disobeyed me that's silly that's God would you pray with me right now Lord I I realized that this is a a great challenge for some I realize that there are some that struggle with authority and submission to the word and the voice of God in their lives and Lord for that I I I don't know what to say I love the church I love the Lord Jesus that you paid the price for the church it wasn't my blood it was yours it wasn't my words it was yours if we're going to be the church that you desire us to be Lord for this hour for this generation for this community for this world that we live in Lord help us to submit to your word there's a Doctrine there's a teaching that comes from your word how we dress how we present ourselves what we do how we interact how we speak how we do things God it matters I pray Lord for a Revival of passion for the things of God oh come on somebody needs to pray right now somebody needs to do a checkup right now on your spirit and your attitude and some of you turned me off a long time ago because you don't like for people to talk about and tell you what to do I'm here to tell you I'm reaching for your soul because I know the enemy is a liar he's going to do everything he can to stop you from making Heaven he's going to lie to you through your friends and your acquaintances he's going to try to trip you up with confusion and I'm here to declare that I won't let that happen if you'll listen to the word of the Lord this altar is open anybody want to pray it's 8:25 anybody got to go somewhere you got that's fine otherwise come on just It's Time Lord help us to fall in love with your purpose and your word and the church Lord and the things of God oh come on it's prayer time you find you a place and just pray Lord help me tonight to be what you want me to be help me Lord to make sound choice right choices and good decisions that bring honor and Glory To Your Name Lord help me to know and understand that what I wear matters and how I act matters and what I do Lord there's teaching for that to help me understand it oh come come on somebody you know how to pray talk to the Lord I I come to you tonight Lord hungry I come thirsty Lord I come Lord Desiring your word to work in my life Jesus come on somebody pray right now you need answers you need answers you're not going to find them by asking all your friends and neighbors and relatives and books and TV shows and R you're going to find some answers by getting in the word and getting in the altar come on somebody Lord I know that I have questions but I know the answers are in you Jesus come on righteousness exalts the name doing the right thing will lift up a people come on God I I want to do the right thing in this hour oh that's right come on pray come on get a hold of God if you can reach over pray with somebody else help them to understand it I'm with you come on we're going to be all right we're going to make it through this come on it matters it matters it matters oh come on that's right it matters how I act matters how I dress matters what I do with this Temple matters come on that's right Jesus I walk after you I run after you Lord I look for you my soul lord thirst for for you Jesus come on somebody that's right there's answers out there it's in the word of the lord it's in the scripture come on Jesus knows hey yeah that's right come on there's a Doctrine there's teaching from the word of God you can find it you can study it you can submit to it that's right that want you to know something friend living for the Lord is more than just showing up at church it's more than just walking through life hoping something turns out good once in a while it's getting a hold of the things of God and saying Lord I love the fact that you love me more than Lord than telling me what I can't do God what you're telling me is this is the limit if you'll stick to it promises will unfold and open next generation's looking the next generation's wondering you grab a hold of somebody's hand we're going to pray as we leave here tonight Jesus thank you for everyone Lord that's established it's strong it's can withstand any of life's challenges and any of cultures bad choices God it's the right word help us Lord to live according to you and according to your word help us to understand why it was said that way and and why it was written like that and how it applies to us in our generation then help us Lord to teach the Next Generation to love it Lord and the reason why
