pray with me would your Lord right now we call upon your name we need you we love you we serve you we trust you we believe in you you are God alone you're on the throne right now Lord we are not your exalted above everything right now Lord I make myself available to you Lord we hunger and thirst for you we want to hear from you today Lord we desire the word of the Lord to work in our hearts and in our lives in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus come on somebody pray talk to the Lord I need you Lord I trust you Lord I believe in you Jesus I honor you today lord I honor you today Lord Jesus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah Jesus I love you Lord thank you always singers and musicians thank you so much thank you to our Sunday School teachers thank you for those who give to the kingdom next Sunday don't forget we do not have Sunday school next Sunday we start at 12 worship time is 12 will come in here will worship together will hear the word of the Lord and then afterwards the young people are having pasta several dishes of pasta for us to fellowship the tables will be set the young folk will be serving and you got to pay for this is a fundraiser for them I think it's $1,000 or so that they'd love to get but they may not but anyway prices are very very cheap reasonable like five dollars a plate is that right ten fifteen dollars a plate twenty ten dollars but you get to eat it's good food you'll enjoy it the fellowship this is to help them don't forget to invite somebody tell them 12 o'clock come now you can come early and pray you man that'd be a good thing a good thing I love all of you I'm glad you're here today again to our guests I welcome you you may be seated in the presence of the Lord thank you so much what you're glad that every day is a new day aren't you thankful every day is a new day turn to somebody close to you say it's a new day the very fact that you are sitting here in this room right now is a testament and a testimony that there is a desire in your heart a desire and perhaps even a longing that you need something more in your life with all of the things that we possess in our day-to-day lives why is it that we crave fellowship with other people why is it that on top of everything else our successes are are our failures our pluses or minuses are more than minuses are increasingly incredible pluses why is it that as humans we still need something more fact is is as humans it is in our DNA and our makeup that in many ways we're selfish I mean if you come to church once a year shouldn't that simply be enough okay don't answer that the fact of the matter is is that as humans we are wise to the fact that we need one another elbow your neighbor and say I need you come on tell somebody I need you I didn't say tell him I like you just tell him you need them I need you in my life I need you in my life some in our modern world that we are they call going to church a crutch the scoffer in fact would say that having faith in a God you cannot see is a weakness in your humanity some voices declare in fact that if you dare to attend the Church of your choice that you are a threat to those around you and therefore you need to be dealt with come on you all of you hear the same thing I'm not sure that there are some even sitting here that are faced with questions on your job concerning your faith what do you believe and then in attempting to explain what you understand the Bible to say you have been labeled as a person of concern no wonder the problems that occur in the places in which we frequent no wonder there are problems that occur in places that should be safe is because faith has come under fire because believing in something without the ability to see it would raise questions on many fronts I mean think about it a person who questions your faith in God and your shallowness to simply believe in a God that could do anything this same person will turn on the news in the morning they'll watch the weather man's report and if the weatherman says it will rain without a cloud in the sky the man will grab his umbrella and go out the door they'll believe that but to have faith in something simply means I've got to trust something besides myself I will say it again on this afternoon service every day is a new day tomorrow there will be another set of questions and concerns that will face humanity but right now I repeat the fact that you are sitting here in this place is they written that there is something in your life that says I need a God that's bigger than anything that I've ever come up against hear me friend your faith will increase in the presence of a holy God the writer to Roman's in chapter 12 verse 1 said it like this I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice holy acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God verse 3 for I say through the grace given unto me to every man that is among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think but what to say but to think soberly according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith the rider to Rome said it this way think soberly according to what God has dealt with you I stand at this desk today and I simply remind everyone you have a measure of faith there is something in you that says I've got to believe something bigger than myself you can believe God in his words and everything that he's ever said you can build on it friend you can establish your goings and your comings on the word of God why because you've got faith even when you face the questions and concerns of humanity daily you've got to know that if you can believe in something it needs to be a mighty God that has a plan and a purpose for your life now we all have an unbelief or a doubt maybe and God is still working in his plan in fact just a mere few moments ago but the Horton shared with us about his brother and the accident that he had there's a reason that they're called accidents and not on purposes is because it happened and didn't want it to and what could have been a dire situation with a man turned out to simply be in the eyes of the one given the testimony God worked on the scene what does that mean I will say it as he did it doesn't matter what you think or believe you got to know that prayer can be answered by somebody praying to a god that still hears and still works and still does the miraculous he still forgive sins he still delivers from those who are browned up he still gives peace to those in a troubled life he's still God on the mountain as well as in the valley why because we all have a measure of faith I stand here today and I declare I choose to believe the word of the Lord God I choose to believe that his way is above every other thing in my life my faith says I believe and I put it into action I know what God has done for me I can attest to it I can stand before any judge and jury and I can tell us oh I know as I once was lost but now I'm found I can tell him with an assurance all I know is I had this sickness and disease as a child but for whatever reason the hand of God worked in my life and now I can stand here today completely whole that's what I can tell you you can look at me and say it was a circumstance it was just a flip of the coin it was just a toss of the dice you call me what you want to I know what my God has done for me our faith in God says that he repeatedly has acted on our behalf and we have trusted that he can do anything have you ever in your life been faced with an insurmountable question our position of what should be simply common sense and in the midst of that greatest opportunity of failure and destruction you simply stand in the presence of God and you look at his word and you don't waver you don't stumble you simply declare thus says the word of the Lord devil I'm not gonna believe your lies enemy I'm not gonna believe what you're telling me I don't care if it looks like the worst of situations I choose to have faith in this matter and I choose to say if God can do it God will do it I don't care what it takes or believe it I don't care what it looks like in anybody else's eyes I stand here today and I declare I've got faith in Him now we all have those moments of question in fear do we not and we all wonder at times where are you God what is happening in this situation why aren't you here working on my behalf I stand here today and I simply declare in the middle of question in the middle of fear and doubt and whatever the world or the enemy of the world can throw at you I still will stand here and I will declare that when the dust settles and when everything is said and done that I'm standing here waving a victory flag and it looks just like the blood of Jesus and no matter what the enemy has tried to convince me of on still standing on the promises of God and I am believing that in whatsoever condition whatsoever place whatsoever life I am here now that my God is still God and my faith still stands Mark chapter 10 I want you to listen to this story this is the silliest story silliest story it makes no sense Cody none none whatsoever mark 10:46 they came to Jericho and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples a great number of people blind bartimaeus son of Timothy sat by the wayside begging and when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth he began to cry out and say Jesus thou son of David have mercy on me and many charged him that he should hold his peace but he cried the more great deal thou son of David have mercy on me Jesus Stood Still commanded him to be called and they called the blind man saying to him be of good comfort rise he called thee and he verse 50 says casting away his garment Rose came to jesus and jesus answered and said unto him what wilt thou that I should do unto thee my men said unto Him Lord that I might receive my sight and jesus said unto him go thy way thy faith hath made thee whole and immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way there is no way whatsoever to explain this miracle this is a man simply that's blind he's got nobody with no particular help for him he simply has become blind and a beggar he sets by the wayside he wants people to help him but the only thing on this particular day at this particular moment that he could come up with was this if I count the coins that I've received they come up to a handful if I count the fruit that's been given to me it comes up to a handful and if I look at all the things that if I could in my I see around me I might be able to touch and to know that for this day I can be taken care of but when I heard that Jesus of Nazareth was walking by I refused to let my faith set in a cup beside me I began to call her on the name of Jesus and I cried for mercy I cried for mercy I cried for mercy somebody you need to understand his situation was what we would call an impossibility but in the eyes of a blind man it is an opportunity to say my faith says have mercy on me and when Jesus stopped and stood still in his tracks he said bring him to me this man Bartimaeus he simply acted on his faith to yell out did he know what was going to transpire no did he already have an insight what was going to take place most likely not but when he heard that Jesus was coming by the Bible said he began to cry out and say he didn't scream and say hey can somebody do this or can I depend on somebody else to do that the Bible doesn't say that he began to make a case this is not fair I've been treated negligently I've been left by though I got a complaint to file I've not been handled correctly somebody ought to give me and take care of me and do and do and do know he didn't lean or what society said to him Bartimaeus be quiet your place is silenced you wait for the master to go back but instead his faith says I might not have a water but I have heard of this man Jesus and I have never seen him but I've heard his name mention and when anybody mentions the name of Jesus you gotta know that even a blind man knows when the positive things in life will buy even a blind man understands that there's a spiritual battle that's going on and Bartimaeus simply said son of David have mercy on me and when Jesus says what do you want me to do he didn't go through the list of what he didn't have he didn't go through the list of what he couldn't do he didn't go through his history and all the things that he had struggled with he simply said I'm standing here right now and I want to receive my sight I'm interested in seeing I want to be able to look and see family friends neighbors I want to be able to see a tree waving in the wind I want to be able to see birds as they fly I want to know what it looks like to look at a sunrise or a sunset that I might receive my sight could I declare to somebody standing or sitting in this room right now could it be today that the Masters come by and he's waiting on you to identify with who he is and if you can't allow your faith to say oh Jesus I have mercy on me then no matter where you are in life situations the Word of God will come to life and begin to move and do things in you and on you and upon you and didn't you realize just like Bartimaeus did I have mercy on me and Jesus says your faith has made you whole 2019 how many of us are blind today for lack of believing because every time we gather together in a room and we begin to worship and magnify the Lord you got to know that in the presence of two or three loving and lifting him up he's there and so if he's here but yet we still walk around in a spiritual block or with all of our issues and our problems and all could it be that faith needs to say I don't have probably as much as that one or maybe that one and I don't know their story and I'm not really sure where they've come from and I can't really explain where they are but one thing I do know is I'm blind and I want to see and because of that Jesus when you asked me what do you want I'm gonna answer you I want to see listen friend in spite of all of life's obstacles and things you need to understand something that there will come a moment that faith connects with the Lord God and it is that moment that there is no room for doubt there's no room for allowing that moment to slip by but you need to know beyond the shadow of a doubt that if the Lord Jesus is coming by there is an opportunity to be made completely whole I will one more time echo what I started with today every day is a new day every day is a new day it might be you're sitting here today scratching your head saying yeah I prayed about this last week or four months now I've been bombarding heaven and it's not happening yet it might be that you're sitting here and with the scales that have doubt and fear that have come over your eyes you're not able to see that the Lord God is standing right there and he's ready to reach out and touch you it could be that as you sit here today you're selling it's just one more service it's just the same song it's just the same singers it's just the same building the air set on the same temperature the microphones are at the same level there's nothing different about it then I encourage someone today to decide I've got a measure of faith and in spite of the music and the song and the lyrics and the light in the microphone I'm gonna stand in the presence of God and I'm gonna say son of David be glorified my faith reaches to you right now I'm hungry for you I am hungry for you I need a move of your spirit in my life I'm tired of walking the same path struggling with son of David have mercy on me there are some sitting here right now under the sound of my voice you simply need to exercise your faith a life-changing moment is right in front of you waiting on you to simply respond with expectancy no doubt the fear of what if but pure faith that says God you can do anything James and his letter wrote this in chapter 1 verse number 2 my brethren count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations knowing this that the trying of your faith worketh patience but let patience have her perfect work that he may be perfect and entire wanting nothing if any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him verse 6 but let him ask in faith nothing wavering for he that waver it is like a wave in the sea driven with the wind and tossed for let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord a double minded man James wrote is unstable in all his ways that the brother of low-degree rejoice in that he is exalted but the rich and that he has made low because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away for the son there's no sooner risen with a burning heat but it wither at the grass and the flower thereof falleth and the grace of the fashion of it precious so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways but verse 12 blessed is the man that endureth temptation for when he is tried he shall receive the crown of life which the LORD hath promised to them that love him the scripture here according to the writer of James wrote it like this when a man is tried when he endures temptations there is something that is awaiting him there is a crown of life this is a new day friend you've never lived this day to this point you'll never again have this day at your disposal it is today and regardless of what you have been going through and regardless of your trials and your tests and the things that you've been facing you've got to understand something that if you will call on the name of the Lord God there is freedom and there is Liberty that he will give there is mercy that he will have in your situation some sitting here today you have questioned God and you have wondered why is it turning out this way I never would have wrote this letter to of my life in this form and God says thank you very much because I have greater plans for you if you can believe in me I can heal you in a moment but in the midst of your sickness if you worship me I can have glory and honor come from you to me and that witness will be so powerful to those around you I know that the blind Bartimaeus story is one that we all hear we hear it in Sunday school we talk about it we sing about it we preach about it but I wonder today what was the witness of the miracle of Bartimaeus wonder what those guys thought that we're standing there saying to him be quiet Shh you're bothering the master I wonder when Bartimaeus stood there in front of him whoa oh the skies blue clouds are white you're ugly no you look beautiful I wonder what the crowd thought when they're looking at this guy who for years and years and years had simply begged but now he's standing there no longer in beggars clothes but he's standing there whole complete look what the Lord has done you see many of us we have struggles in life we have searched certain circumstances that happen and one of the hardest things that we face in our day to day life is trusting Jesus you see if we had all the answers if we had the end of the result and we knew how everything was going to turn out then we could call the shots a little easier and a little better and we can make wiser choices and the fact of the matter is as God gave all of us the ability to choose but I'm looking for a crown my old pastor that I had growing up as a young boy I spoke about him often because of the impact that he had on my life he was he was the first pastor I had as a young child that caused me to get a whoopin at home I'd acted up in church and he came back there and got on to me and told me we don't do that in church son I was probably the ripe age of 11 or so I just looked at him said yes sir and church was over and we got home and my dad called me in the bedroom and said I understand you to conversation with pastor time of course the whole church saw what happened this is old school may I say that this is what made me who I am my dad said if he ever gets onto you you're gonna pay for it at home you need to understand respect and honor in the house of God I said yes sir and I got a whoopin and the next service I had to go back herb and I had to apologize to the pastor how difficult that is I'm gonna help you parents I didn't go up to him and say I'm sorry German risotto I had to look him in the eye and as a young boy I had to say pastor I'm so sorry that I talked in church but I'll never forget him reaching over and grabbing me and hugging me and say I love you trying to help you so years later when I got kids I had to remember that story so I just whipped my kids before he went to church I'm joking don't ask Lauren and I married a beautiful young lady who first time she was gotten on to a church was when when my pastor got on to her as a young person visiting the church talking he went back and said young lady we don't do that in this church and that's who I married so guess what cisternae we taught our kids respect I stay with me stay with me I mean I'm in I'm in the bank we live in a world today that everybody deserves and everybody ought to have and all in the fact of the matter is there's a crown of life that's waiting for those who will yield to the plan and the purpose of God and you may not like it and I'm sure that blind bartimaeus did not want to be called blind Bartimaeus and I am certain that on that day he simply got out of his bed or his mat or whatever it was and got to the roadside and stuck his hand out and began to do what he always did I am almost certain that he didn't wake up listening to the right music on the radio popping in the earbuds he couldn't text cuz he couldn't see I am certain that he didn't have any preconceived notions the only thing he had was this I'm doing what I do I am living my life the way I live it but Jesus is here now I don't know anything about him I've never seen him do a miracle I've never seen the miraculous happen because I can't see it but I know what I've heard and hearing is enough for me to say oh Jesus I meet your Lord I gotta have your Lord bottom has come on man you need to be quiet now you need to understand I'm blind you be quiet if you want to I got nothing to lose at this point well they gonna make me do leave embarrass myself what you think I've been doing all of my life as a blind man no I ain't about to let this master go by Jesus son of David have mercy on me have mercy on me have mercy on me what are you looking for Bartimaeus I'm looking for a crown of life I don't understand it I don't comprehend it but isn't it wonderful to note the first thing that Bambaataa mayor saw when he opened his eyes was the master standing in front of him saying ah I have made you whole notice that's why stand with me on this Sunday afternoon that's why the Bible says that when bartimaeus left that place he didn't go back home he didn't run and go do everything that he wish he'd had done before but the Bible says specifically he followed after Jesus if he can do this for me there's no telling what this man can do in any situation I wonder sometimes if bartimaeus would have been at the tomb of a dead man coming out the ground I wonder if he could say hey you know what I know exactly what you're going through what do you mean you've never been dead no I'm not talking about that I'm told by the other side I know what it's like to hear the voice of the master and make everything completely whole in my life today in this place I wonder is there anybody still hungry for victory is there anybody still thirsty for the wheel in the way of the Savior is there somebody that will still stand and shout with the old-timers and say it thank God for the blood washed away my sins made me a new man gave me hope I know I didn't have a bunch of faith but I've got a measure of faith and with that I choose to pursue a crown of life if you're here today I want you to close your eyes I want you to throw your hands to heaven right now and I want you to begin the process of looking on the inside Lord where is my fear in doubt coming from I want to remove it I want the inhibitions Lord God to go by the wayside if it's beggars clothes I'm gonna catch them by the side just like but I'm a is dead if it's fear and doubt for what you may require for me to do I rebuke it I stand on top of it and I declare I have faith to believe there is a crown of life waiting for me why because I am gonna come out of this and victory victory victory is going to be mine come on it's prayer Tom I want you to spend a few moments praying right now come on maybe you need to repent of doubt and fear and sin the thing that's keeping you from victory in your life come on there's some searching right now Jesus I want your word to look at me I want your spirit God to move in my life I want to know Lord that you're doing at work in me and in the midst of all of my faults and failures I submit to you right now now this altars open on this Sunday afternoon is there anybody that's hungry for the Lord and you want to come run into an altar and you want to fall on your knees and begin a call on the name of the Lord God come on right now in the name of Jesus this place it's a prayer room I want you to come and pray I want you to come and talk to the master and I want you to declare come on God you can do it if you can do it for someone else you can do it for me if you can forgive me of my sins you can forgive me in anybody else around me if you can touch my grandparents and my parents you can do it in my life how about somebody fear and doubt needs to go by the wayside somebody needs to stand in faith today to say God you're able to do anything come on pray come on pray church would you pray saying of God would you pray come on mom and dad this altars open come on young person you need to call on the name of the Lord come on today is the day to worship and love the Lord come on in the name of Jesus give the Lord praise right now give the Lord praise right now Jesus I believe you I'm you would help me Jesus he'll let my faith be enough to touch you to change those around me come on that's right press into his presence Lord I come hungry or I come first you I desire you today Jesus
