Father's Day, Father's Prayer

Father's Day in and of itself is very different from many other celebrations that we have Father's Day is a time that we take in in our in our weekly schedule if you will and we pay tribute to the men who if I could say it make our lives complete I realize that for many dads this time with others is not very comfortable as pastor I have a difficult time of honoring the men of the church and those who bring so much to the table every day in the lives of so many because there's something in the make up and the character of a father of a man if you will that many times does not want to allow them to feel appreciation men are different creatures how many of you know that to be true men are very different than women or mothers this past Mother's Day some of you will remember that we celebrated in the parking lot of 75 48 I go Gap Road yeah you buddy remember that yeah sister Eunice so capably she honored the mothers with words of flowery and juicy meanings all you moms really like that stuff she gave cupcakes and beautiful words that brought basically all of us to tears because we can all relate to the special meaning that a mother has in our lives but I'll ask this question on Father's Day how many of you dad's out there got a taste of that cupcake lift your hand and wave it a little bit some of you are lying right now did you know that in that cupcake box there was a tiny little fork attached to the lid anybody noticed that that was so that the ladies could take and I guess in a tea party atmosphere they could because this the fork wasn't as big as your finger men are different men are different in fact my wife was so kind she looked at me and she unboxed the cupcake and I noticed how elegant and how super good it looked it wasn't my cupcake it was her cupcake your mothers understand I'm saying but she was kind enough to ask me if I wanted to taste it now I'm in a quandary a taste so with her cute little Fork she takes a little bite and I fail to recognize the value of the little fork and I just simply took it and took a bite out of it drawn she asked why certainly it just has I put it to my mouth she said do you want the fork um ma'am it wasn't nice of your wife to share with you men men men are very different though today we're at Father's Day and the same feeling is not present here dude have you notice that men are very distinct now y'all stay with pastor for just a few moments today fathers many times you are creatures who deal with guilt and embarrassment for the mistakes that you make and the bad choices that you come up with as a father I know how to tell a corny joke come on man don't leave me hanging most men see humor in the strangest things we can hold a conversation with the best offense posts Logan you know I'm saying our attention span last about as long as the popcorn does and when it's gone we're checking out I'm sure that every time you throw your socks on the floor it is because you truly don't remember that the hamper is only six feet from it come on man stay with me why it's not laziness it's not a non caring attitude it is simply men are different how many how many kids understand that a dad can embarrass you at the blink of an eye come on that's a talent all you men say amen embarrassing your kids that's pretty funny brother Daniel yeah saying the wrong thing at the right time that's a skill takes a long time to learn that you have to develop that hear me what I'm saying me and choices and decisions there they're there they're not very hard for fathers they they just can't make too many at one time that's why we where do you want to eat that took it's a good question I don't want the response well wherever you want to go well now all of a sudden I'm back in there where I was before I asked the question wherever you want to go and how many men because you're the man you decide to put out there where you want to go and eat and all of a sudden the debate begins no not for well you'd ask me I know but we'll go there no really we'll go wherever and this cycle happens in 2020 we have been engrained with the idea that men are unaware of life they are buffoons if you will fathers almost always receive the short end of the stick when it comes to the difficult things that they have to do hear me now Hollywood and the media they are on a mission to minimize the effect of men in our world they spend millions and millions of dollars trying to feminize if you will the male role in the everyday life of a family there is an attitude and there is an action that can be seen all around us in 2020 hear me now that investment is not a trick it is not a mistake they know exactly what they are trying to do with a purpose they want to make father's feel like their unwanted like they are unaware of anything that's going on they are disconnected and detached from the family unit and the effort that the world if you will is trying to put on trying to snuff out the power of the man is now showing up in churches I know that many of the issues represented right now in this room gathered here I want you to know those issues they stem from disappointments and unsatisfied expectations that the world has put upon men hear me it has put into the hearts of women and children because if the man the father doesn't live up to it all of a sudden their value is minimized as a father here me a father has many parts in his weapon Arsenal's that he has understanding that if you disappoint a man if he feels disappointed in trying to appease those around him a dad has a hard time with that a dad's instinct is to protect and to provide for his family but if he feels that he has not measured to the expectation that father will close up and will shut down hear me I am NOT here today to plead for the cause of manhood no I am NOT here today to simply present the best case for fatherhood and how that we've messed up and we've done it wrong no but I am here today however to put a perspective on fatherhood for this 2020 culture in which we are living in right now understand go with me for a few moments I want to take you into a place where I feel like you may get a better understanding the Bible reveals to us in the book of beginnings in Genesis in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth somebody say Amen we get that we understand the plan of God the Bible specifically says that God formed from the dust of the earth a man he called him Adam he breathed into him life made him a living creature a living soul had the ability to do what God leads him to do God breathed his spirit into that man Adam was in the presence of God walking and talking with him God gives Adam a help me to put him to sleep from the rear pulls out makes then that Eva which was the woman that was given to Adam anybody remember the story so there we have the first indication of a family unit that we have reference to Adam and Eve are in a perfect place then sin disobedience comes on the scene and the couple are removed from the garden Genesis chapter 4 verse number 1 and Adam knew Eve his wife and she conceived and bare Cain and said I have gotten a man from the Lord and she again bare his brother Abel and Abel was a keeper of sheep but Cain was a tiller of the ground Cain was born to a man and a woman his name simply means gotten from God Abel is born his name simply means breath so this family unit is birthed and there's a curse that has been placed on them because of their laws and there are precepts and concepts that they must live by it is the man here me who walked with God who understood God who stood in the presence of God who comprehended God who knew that God was the creator but the Bible very specifically tells us there came a time of sacrifice and Cain killed his father this is a perfect family dad is what does what he does mom does what she does and in all rights and looking at it this should have never happened but dad understand you can do everything you can do with your children but the example given here is simply this there are some that'll get it and there are some that won't it doesn't mean that Adam was a bad father I am sure that Adam had all the right tools the proper training I'm sure he was a good dad but if you'll notice the account there is one good child that's born in one bad it's amazing that this family could have this happen to them you gotta understand what's happening in our world today it's not new but there has always been rebellion there has always been somebody wanting to do it their way you gotta know something dad with all of the guilt and the shame and the regrets that you face throughout your life as a father all the times you should have been there but you weren't all the things you thought you invested in your kids but it didn't work you need to know something you're a man you're a father and I don't excuse anything but I study in the word of the Lord that there were problems in issues with dads and children at that point Genesis chapter 12 verse number one now the Lord had said unto Abram get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house unto a land that I will shew thee and I will make of thee a great nation and I will bless thee and make thy name great and thou shalt not thou shall be a blessing verse 3 and I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed Abram is a story that talks of power and influence he would become the father of Nations God chose him to be the one who would lead and instruct the children of Israel God's chosen people but the promise given to him here it understanding it was God the creator of all things that made a promise to him and to his wife Sarah they took it into their own hands they made steak God had given them the plan but Ishmael comes along out of a relationship between legally the handmaid of Sarah it was okay but it was out of God's timing listen the pastor for a moment men it might be that today you sit in this room and the guilt and the shame is too much for you to bear I've come to tell you that men have a whole lot that's dependent on them but there are times when it happens right and there are times when it happens wrong notice here that Ishmael was born but it wasn't part of the plan of God therefore Sarah conceived and we know the story that when Isaac came along there was an anointing on him but his smell was still there I've come to tell somebody today that the shame and the guilt of Abraham I'm sure that he taught his boys I'm sure that he did the best he could but God still blessed him even in the midst of his humanity time does not permit me today to talk about David's mistakes Samuels mistakes Jesse's mistakes Moses's mistakes Aaron's mistakes Noah's mistakes Ezekiel's mistakes Elijah's mistakes on and on and all we could go we could look in the scriptures and we could find that in the lives of fathers written in the Bible with their stories there are choices that have to be made many of you would die seek their lives and you would question the motive and the plan of God God what were you thinking when you put these men into positions in places of authority knowing that they were inadequate and unable to accomplish the right thing yet without your advice yet without your blessing yet without the nod of your head God go ahead and do it God use these father's these men to build incredible things in the world in which you and I live today yes fathers before you were ever thought of there were fathers that came before you who were as messed up or more than you but something happened in them the word and the promise of God unfolded in their lives and what should have been bad ugly and messed up God stepped into the conflict God stepped into the controversy God stepped into the confusion God stepped into the chaos and in the midst of what those father's dear that God came in and said I'll still let my plan be carried out here in this 2020 Father's Day service I want to honor every one of you dad sitting here under the sound of my voice if you're watching online right now I want to honor you and let you know that you are not a worthless piece of trash you are not a buffoon you are not a mistake you are not but yet you are deeded there is a love of God that is wrapped around you you had great value in the kingdom of God fathers you need to know there is an unction that God desires to give every father in this room today father's you hold in your hand the ability to change the world men cornerstone apostolic church needs you now more than ever before you matter to God's kingdom I invite right now every father that is in this room to stand to your feet please please I'm asking you set your child down give him to somebody give her to someone if you need to and I want you to move out of your seat and into the aisle that's closest to you please come on dad's now I want to demonstrate to every single one of you in this room men women children babies I want to demonstrate to you something that will blow your mind right now men fathers in your way in your manner of doing things I want you men fathers to lift your hands in the sanctuary and I want you to shout as loud as your voice will carry I want you to simply shout hallelujah in the name of Jesus come on me and raise your hands shout it with me halleluja halleluja halleluja me and you stay with me one moment I don't know if you can feel it or not but something is shaking in the spirit world something is moving right now something is happening in this place right now the rider to Timothy says this in first Timothy chapter 2 verse number one I exhort you therefore that first of all supplications prayers intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men for kings and for all that are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty for this is the good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who will have to be saved and to come under the knowledge of the truth for there is one God and one mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time wherein to I am ordained a preacher an apostle if I speak the truth in Christ and lie not a teacher of the Gentiles in faith I will therefore dad when you begin the prayer when you begin to love the Savior something happens in your family something transpires in your home something unfolds itself on your job why because if you ever that's I know very well that we are able to make mistakes and I know dad that shame and guilt can wreck your image society can make you feel so inadequate our family sometimes can make us feel so small and insignificant I pause to simply say wives you better support and respect your husband's do not shame on you moms if you play your husband down in front of your children why because there is an unction and an authority that comes through the power of the holy God of creation that said man you better lift hands and you better pray don't do it with wrath or doubting but do it as them to the Lord why listen to me carefully dad if some big old brute is about to break into your house you're not about to call your three-year-old to stand in the cab no but you'll stand up you'll step out and you'll say you're not getting in this house this is my domain I'll back you down I'll beat you down I'll stomp you down why because God gave me this domain why would it be any different in the spirit hear me dad there are demons in this world trying to sneak in and steal your wife and steal your children that is not the will of God it is the will of God for you to be a father a prayer I pray for my kids I stand in the gap for my wife I understand I make mistakes but I will stand for my family mom children do you want to know why dad tells corny jokes because he knows how to when's the last time you kids heard your mom tell a joke that's my kids man she messes them up she'll stay with me hmm there's a function that's happening right now in this room but I can take a joke make it up and everybody looks at me and they go that was so dumb I don't even make sense dad well you laughed only cuz I feel sorry for you ask your mom to tell one yeah that's okay why cuz she don't know how brother drawn I learn corny jokes just so I can tell them I fabricate them sometimes Horten anybody know how to call a death duck hey Doc everybody anywhere now for the next two weeks y'all are gonna look for an opportunity to use that aren't you our world right now in 2020 men hear me on this Father's Day man your world needs you now more than ever before listen to me carefully your wife needs you to fight for her your children need you to stand for them listen to me men the enemy does not care about you nor your feelings he doesn't care about your children's emotions nor your wife's emo or how they feel he is simply on a rampage to do all the damage that he could do against anything that God said into motion that's why the family is under attack now more than ever before why because the enemies say it to himself if I can shut dad's phrase down it'll shut mom's phrase and it'll shut the children's praise but I've come to declare the whole Council of God that there is an anointing when a dad will say I don't care if it looks right I don't care if you think I lost my mind I'm gonna love God I'm gonna worship Him I'm gonna be appraiser I'm gonna be a worshipper man I want you right now to ignore everything around you don't you worry about your wife and what she might say don't you concern yourself with what your kids will too don't you worry about what anybody says but man with everything that's inside of you are you willing to say I will worship the name of the Lord my God I will love him in spite of everything going on would you right now be a worshipper and begin to love the Lord begin to magnify him there's an altar open up here man I wish some men would be men a principle that would come to an altar and say I've come to be God's man for my family in this hour well that's right ma'am come on dad come on dad your kids need to see your workshop they need to see you blessing God come on they need to see you get excited about God as much as you get excited about football they need to see you get excited about the fees of God as much as you get excited about a new shotgun or or fishing pole aha in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus Kjell I gotta here cash or I'm gonna die so the question of the hour what are we going to do paint a man standing right here in this place nor watching online that has the answer for our messed up world have you got ideas right but I just come and tell you they gonna listen what they will listen to is a dad that's on fire for God cuz when you get on the job and the anointing of the Lord is moving through your veins and the glory of God is rustling through your mind and you stand there on your wherever you are an assembly line at your desk in the car wherever you are and you begin to sing the songs of Zion and the glory of the Lord begins to move it is joy unspeakable and it's full of glory and it's undeniable and somebody will stand back and say I wish they would stop but there's something about truth when truth begins to be declared that you cannot silence truth and the truth is man you were called to play you were called to be a worshiper you were made to exalt the name of Jesus come on man come in a little closer to the center Church come on in church stand to your feet please something is about to break loose in this place and the city of Chattanooga will never be the same again come on in close man if you need a social distance yourself you do what you got to do but listen to me carefully you can tell a corny joke like the rest of them you can make a bad choice of the clothes you wear in the toilet doesn't match just like anyone else you can embarrass your kids and your wife and the snap of a finger but right now and this atmosphere you can change the future in this place your kids can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost as you men begin to worship and lift up the name of Jesus come on your backs limp kids will come back as they feel the power in the presence of a holy God at this moment lives will be changed forever man it is time to go to war in prayer it is time to worship and magnify the Lord God like never before it's Father's Day and there's no greater joy on a Father's Day than to see the church house full of people worshipping and magnifying the name of Jesus all right men get a hold of somebody on your left and right throw their hands to heaven and as best you can as best as you feel it I want you to begin to call on the name of Jesus let's right lift your voice don't be bashful about it don't be shy about it your children your wives are standing there waiting them for you to break through with an unction and an anointing come on man be man of worship demand of worship lift your voice lift your voice I love you Jesus I believe in you Jesus you are my god you're my healer you're my wave maker you're my deliverer you are everything Lord they tried that try that try the come on man open your mouth open your heart look to Jesus lift your head come on keep pastors the guilt of the shame rise above it I know I'll probably mess up tomorrow I might say the wrong thing I might not do it with grace but right now Lord I've come to love you and you have demonstrated in your word that you will use even manner of controversy we can use me God to save my family from Aceves come on I tried that's right now listen carefully listen to me carefully please men if your family is in this room I want you to go straight to them right now do not stop go do not collect your $200 but you go straight to your family and you gather them around you right now go go quick as you can't get to him this place is going to erupt in worship right now because ma'am if you will worship if you will pray if you will plead the blood of Jesus come on everybody needs to be with somebody everybody needs to be a hold of somebody come on pray right now man I want you to pray fervently for your family right now plead the blood of Jesus over them let's ride man just like you were lifting your voice up here now you're doing their God of glory anoint my children Lord anoint my wife I pray in the name of Jesus that your healing power would work in our home Jesus we need you Jesus come on pray they me in that tribe less than n tribes afraid lift your praise praise to the key praise to the king I bless your name I worship listen to me carefully please please listen carefully the pastor some of your homes right now on the brink of destruction the enemy's one step away from breaking down the door and rushing into your home in stealing every bit of joy and victory that you have tried to hoard over the last several years some of you know exactly what pastor was talking about some of you in this room you have beat back the hand of the enemy by simply trying to sustain life and trying to be Church this city this state this nation our world needs you now more than ever before I believe in you I believe in you I can see things in your life that God is trying desperately to do but you are struggling with yourself and with what's going on in your environment listen to me you wives looking past your phone many of your moms look right here look at me men were made to Mead respect if you don't respect them you are destroying them you may not do it on purpose but every time you play them down every time you you complain about them in front of your kids or other people the enemy stand everybody that that's exactly what he did he already knows him it's gonna take in a minute to accept him but wives moms come here sweetie there is no greater feeling knowing knowledge in the world when I hear this lady in her prayer chair say bless Raymond today help me make right choices and good decisions there is no greater strength that comes to me and to know that as dumb as I could be sometimes and as corny as my joke can be sometimes and as messed up as things can get sometimes because I'm the father and it's my responsibility I realized that she prays for me I will make a declaration right now Lauren come here sweetie sorry baby you're the only one here come here this one puts her head on her pillow at night with the knowledge with the knowledge perfect there is an unction that rests upon her because of understanding for the Gibson how God put order in the family father's day children listen to me carefully please you better know listen to me look at me children you better know beyond the shadow of a doubt you need your parents in your life it's good bad and ugly as it might get you meet them ask this 24 year old if all hell breaks loose and she don't know desperately need to holy ghost' mom and dad you better be pounding the gates of heaven God let my babies in whatever it takes let them in I want to I want to see them speak in tongues I want to watch them go down and watery grave of baptism why because that's the only way they're gonna make it my wife has a whole list of things that I mess up on don't don't look at her look I hear she approved this tie today but not with the suit but anyway but she's most of the time so gracious and understanding and then there's that time did brother Daniel that she'll say honey and I know the book yes dear you're exactly right we're gonna do it this way anyway and then she pulls out a coupon and I said no don't do it to coupon way listen to me carefully it's Father's Day thank you we as apostolic have a really good way of having church coming in the house of the Lord raising our hands jumping up and down going out the door didn't we have great church and your home is a wreck that's exactly what the enemy is trying to do but I declare on this Father's Day happy Father's Day dad's you have them I just showed you in it why in the world would came kill Abel make no sense why would God still bless Abraham why would Jesse stand up and say these are the boys don't count that one and all the while God said but I want that one why would men mess up and God still say it's alright it's okay it's alright that's not the way I would have done it but they're men I created them with a mind and a purpose there is revival in this hour there is explosive Epis taluk renewal and revelation of the oneness of God in this hour but men it's gonna be us who stand in a gap and decide you know what there is no weapon that has formed against me that will prosper but I will be a worshiper in the good days and the bad days in the up days in the down days I might not shout as loud tomorrow and next week I may come dragging in but one thing is for sure I'm praying for my wife I'm praying for my children I'm believing that somehow someway in my mess-ups that God can still restore and put order before you go home every hand in the house lift it to Jesus and begin to love him come on I bless your name every hand in the house I and lifted up i exalt you Jesus I bless your name Lord God you are holy you are wonderful you are righteous you are perfect Jesus yeah yeah yeah yeah do not allow your shortcomings and your mistakes to silence your praise and your worship but you make a decision I will that man would pray everywhere pray with me right now as we leave this room Lord your glory is in this house angels are encamped around this room right now there is an ocean Lord God and an anointing from the throne room Jesus that's touching our life right now I speak hope and faith confidence and conviction in the heart of every father in this room right now I rebuke the guilt of the shame that drives dads and fathers away from their families and their children I rebuke it in the name of Jesus Lord God you know that we are men that we are made a certain way with a certain pattern a certain principle but God you can help us to be better you can help us to do right I pray for our wives and mothers here I pray for our children in here I pray for backslidden children and spouses that have gone astray I pray for our city for our community for our nation for our world in the name of Jesus there is apostolic authority when men pray well this Father's Day what I honor you and I love you with everything that is within me and I thank you for loving me in spite of me go where there's a sweet God love you in all things we're gonna bless your name in every way we're gonna bless you Lord as we come back next week in Jesus name everybody say in Jesus name
