Have Faith

lord we love you we are hungry for you jesus we are thirsty for the things of god we desire the perfect will of god in our lives today lord as we gather in this room we bring our hearts and our lives to you one more time lord i make myself available to you jesus i need you lord i know that there is purpose today in this place there is unction lord there is anointing oil is flowing today from the spirit oh god breathe the word into our spirits right now i pray those that are hurting lord they're at home today separated from the church family god bless them as well i pray in the name of jesus somebody say amen you can be seated if you feel like you need to again thank you singers musicians thank you sunday school teachers workers all of our volunteers thank you so much setting up tearing down good stuff going on in the church amen i'm encouraged today because i made it to another sunday service huh anybody else the question though that i will pose to you today is how difficult is it to believe something in 2020. how difficult is it to believe something i mean we have a lot of information that's swirling around us every single day agreed we have every news outlet every media possibility there are so much information there's so much hype it fills all of the space in which you and i live every single day no doubt this last week we heard this one said this and moments after that we heard someone else say well what they really meant to say was this and then if you'll give it a few moments no no doubt you'll then hear now here's what we know about what they said about what they thought they said anybody understand what i'm saying so incidents things can occur in our everyday lives and the truth is is that it is a great challenge now in our generation to actually believe anything that's said or done i talk of this often even from this desk because i i think that where we are many are having a hard time deciding right and wrong truth and a lie what many times does happen is that we devour so much information that relevance and purpose change and we begin to accommodate it to our way of belief or our understanding and then we have to choose sides anybody understand 2020 it's where we're living it's tough to decide what to believe and what not to believe and so the dilemma remains what is right and what is wrong we no longer have that man on the mountain that you can climb up to and say what is the meaning of life or this truth is all of us sitting in this room today we dig through a mountain of information trying to find one particular point of reference or one particular certain topic in an effort to establish which way to go or what we really and truly are going to believe in it is a great challenge of our day to say the least it's not easily accepted that there's a normal way of making decisions many of us in fact still use the old adage paper rock and scissors never mind you you younger folks will need to ask the older folks what that means truth is it has become increasingly challenging to know what to believe and not to believe the truth is true this is 2020. look at your neighbor and say welcome with all of life's choices with all of life's challenges we are faced with the greatest task of simply knowing where to begin and what we need as the bedrock for our lives what have we received what have we received from the past generations that make a base of the fundamental beliefs in who we are and where we build y'all stay with preacher for a moment from where are we receiving our established core elements of beliefs you gotta have a foundation to build on you have to but the questions that arise in our generation previous generations they taught us so much they instructed us in so many great things and yet today we are wandering around many are saying where do i put this foundation down now it used to be like this but now it's like that it was once considered this way now it's considered that way and the truth is is people are sticking out their finger saying which way is the wind blowing now in our day hear me this generation understand the preacher today so much is based upon where we have come from and we cannot allow a developed and informative world to mix up and to confuse you our society we know is broken it has become disbanded the past hurts and the past failures they have placed so many into a position to where they question everything is it real or is it unreal truth of the matter is this we got to where we are today because some of our forefathers and founding fathers decided prayer works healing is real there is truth there is right there is wrong there is up there is down the fact of the matter still remains if you're going to make tough choices in 2020 you better know from which you're receiving your information you better establish your feet upon the rock and stand there firmly knowing whatever hell throws at me i am building upon the rock christ jesus the question though still remains how did we get to this place more important where do we go from this place do we throw out all the old and do we search for another bedrock to put a foundation upon do we evaluate and try to figure out what is right and wrong and then flip a coin and say let's do this or let's go that way facts sometimes are so hard to wrap your hands around truth is difficult many times to put into a box and to carry into a presentation and say this is what i know to be true but friend here this preacher this afternoon the only thing that we as the church can do in this moment in our culture in our society is not look for a way out it's not look for somebody else to blame but if we will establish truth and understand the truth is what marches on the truth is where we put our feet down no matter what anybody else does pastor what is truth i'm glad you asked truth is the word of the living god truth is the word of the living god truth is still the bible truth is still the word that was given to men that was wrapped in flesh that came and dwelt among us the word is still the truth again there are questions on every side about everything and about everything there is a question hatred pure disgust flows from so many areas in life right now each one is reaching and clawing for something that they can get a hold of everyone is in the position of trying to grab hold of an anchor for the strength they're trying to get a hold of that and grip onto it and begin to build for their future but the truth of the matter is simply this the church we have got to make it through the challenging questions by simply saying if jesus said it i believe it it is the word there's no room for doubt there's no room for wonderment there's no room to say what he really meant was this or what that translation says is that hear what the pastor's saying right now the truth is established on jesus christ all else is sinking sand hebrews chapter 11 could you hear it verse number one now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen for by it this faith the elders obtained a good report through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of god so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear hear it now faith is substance everybody say substance faith is evidence everybody say evidence it is what you hope for even though you might not see it hear it it's how the elders the old timers if you will the jesus only ones if you will those that came out of the desert in the wilderness preaching about this god it's those that establish you know what i don't know what heaven looks like but by faith i'm gonna preach every time about heaven it's the elders that came out and said i'm not sure what cancer is but i know that the name of jesus there's power to heal it it's that faith that said it don't matter what any doctor has said it don't matter what any scientist has come up with i still believe in the old rugged cross i still believe in the written word of god that is truth it's how they were seen in their day brother jerome they would call them crazy holy rollers when's the last time some of y'all youngins don't even know what that means holy rollers jesus only y'all one of them my grandpa simply say and you ain't they got a good report not only with god but with the world they were living in hey that's why today some of y'all not all of you maybe but some of you know what preacher talking about because somebody at work comes by your desk and sits down gently says i know that you're a praying man or i realize that you're one of those that goes to church on the weekends listen my child don't lost his mind or listen my wife is eat up with a disease but i believe that if you pray something gonna happen why because they see a report they see you on a monday when everybody else is hungover that you're coming in with a bump in your step saying this is the day the lord has made i'll rejoice and i'm glad in it they don't hear the curse words come out of your mouth they don't see the alcohol coming off of you they realize that there's something in you and it's the truth of the word of god it's what the elders were known for knowing this hear me now if you could not see it with your human eyes the very thought and idea that god could you would believe in it so strong was this elder's relationship hear me that entire cultures and generations were established upon principles of the word of god hear me the united states of america congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances this is from your bill of rights written in the year of 1789 of establishing the rights of humanity to say i got a right to worship i've got a right to praise i've got a right to magnify the lord and the government that we live in this nation they understood that to say the elders established this it's in the word therefore let's put a whole nation and build it upon this and oh jesus we are now in 2020 and we got a whole lot of folk questioning the blocks that formed this great nation this is not a political message whatsoever this is history make your way into the halls of congress read it for yourself thou shalt not kill thou shalt not steal thou shalt not commit adultery it's from the elders because there was something going on there i stand here today at this desk right now and i am going to establish once again i'm going to repeat what has already been said through the eons and eons of times hear me there have been precious groups of bible believers if you will that faith came to them and their faith in the almighty god was necessary to establish their very existence the fact of the matter friend is in our generation we've one more time need to visit that fundamental fact and that simply is this we got to believe in truth and we got to stand for this truth in that book you call your holy bible it is from those words that your life will be judged it is from those words that you will live and establish your moral character and the things that you think and how you do it is from that bible that you can stand on and regardless of what they say out there hear me i stand here today brother gibson somebody who was diseased and gonna die and should have done been gone in a wheelchair they told me when i was a young boy but i'm standing here today i might not be in my right mind but i got a mind therefore i can tell you my god is a healer he is a waymaker he knows the path in which i take and establish that every single day i'm looking at a lovely lady on that front row that had multiple strokes years ago but she's still driving she's still work why you tell me that my god's not a healer you've come too late that's the truth of the word of god durham can he heal your baby you know he can 2020 our faith has still have to be founded upon the word of god we've got to know it and we've got to stand upon it titus 2 for the grace of god that bringing salvation hath appeared to all men teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lust we should live soberly righteously and godly in this present world looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great god and our savior jesus christ somebody hear it you've got to know salvation comes to men as you realize that god's grace is working in your life this is a fundamental truth of salvation somebody say you got to be saved hebrews 11 6 but without faith it is impossible to please him for he that cometh to god must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him listen you've not only got to understand salvation and how grace works in your life but you must have faith in the only saving name of jesus christ and believing him for the answer all i'm simply doing is repeating the truths of the word of god in case you've got a question first john 1 9 if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness confessing the truth of who jesus is and believing in him will put you on the right foundation second peter 3 and 9 the lord is not slack concerning his promise that some men count slackness but his long-suffering to us word not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance hear me god wants for all of mankind to do an about-face walk away from a sinful lifestyle and begin running after him mark 16 15 he said unto them go ye into all the world preach the gospel to every creature he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved he that believeth not shall be damned believing and being baptized in the name of jesus will wash away your sins hear me say i'm not going to get into doctrines and teachings of what the trinitarians are trying to do i don't have to talk about false doctrines i simply need to speak to your truth this is in the word of god believing is more than a word and a handshake believing is saying i trust it i build upon it and my whole future is dependent on it therefore if the word tells me to do something i'll do it as my old pastor used to say if the bible says be baptized in peanut butter you better buy every bit of peanut butter you can find why because it's in the word romans 8 and 9 but ye are not in the flesh but in the spirit if so that the spirit of god dwell in you now if any man have not the spirit of christ he is none of his a truth that the spirit of god has to be in you without the holy ghost you have no connection to the heavenlies truths foundational truths matthew 10 22 and ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake but he that endureth to the end shall be saved establishing your stand in the lord jesus christ will be the strength that you need to endure till the very end i'm talking today simply about this faith i'm talking about faith i'm talking about believing in what the lord god has established from the very beginning i'm talking about a foundation of truth and of trust in which you can build your entire life you can listen to preacher today you can preach this to your child them about the love of jesus you can preach to them about repentance and water baptism in the name of jesus christ for the remission of their sins yes you can tell them the gift of the holy ghost is still real listen you don't have to say it used to happen you don't have to tell anybody that it once happened before but you can tell them you know what when we begin to pray when we begin to seek the face of god the truth of the matter is simply this god shows up and things happen you stand upon your faith when everything else falls apart when your co-workers questioning you when your loved ones looking at you with a cross look when somebody in your family saying yeah it used to be but it no longer is you can look them in the eye and say you better build upon your faith in the lord jesus christ and understand that his truth endures forever right now right now 2020 in this room there are doubts fears they are overshadowing the world at every turn and with every single day that passes brother jerome come on it brings more and more questions but yet as we have already heard in this service today the stage has been set for something perhaps that we don't know what to think of please understand there are no new things under the sun believe it or not i'm about to hurt somebody's feelings believe it or not this is not the smartest generation to ever live see oh lord don't let me get sidetracked we think we all that in a box of cracker jacks with a prize but the truth is this the only things you know are things that you have read about what generations past have done do you realize that when the first man went to the moon we didn't even know how far the moon was it was 100 math let's see you take this you make this you do this and you slide it this way okay anyway it'll work what will that you think we're brave about the first guy who said i'll write it see we're not the smartest y'all we got all this information but we're spending our time reading about stuff in the past and then you got everybody questioning well what they really meant lord help me stay on track what they really were doing see truth is is we've never been on the moon it was a ploy from hollywood i mean we got we got a little jesus we got stuff coming out in the media that you and i look at one another and say what in the world does that have to do with anything but there are promises in the word of god you can climb out of your bed in the morning put your knees on the floor and you simply breathe the name jesus and every devil in hell runs and every angel in heaven runs to you and you can begin to plead the blood of jesus over anything and everything and you better know the truth of the matter is simply this there is power in the blood of jesus i just watched my little girl a few moments ago up on that screen i can tell you how i sleep at night i sleep before i go to bed lord i plead your blood over her i know she's hundreds of miles away but i'm pleading your blood over her i don't know how that works but it works i don't know understand it but it works i know that it know why because she's still there and the lord's still blessing hey i know i know this night before i crawl into my bed i have an 80 year old mama that's probably watching right now she's going to speak my name out under the lord god and she's a saint of all he he knows her voice sister states he knows how she pray i trust in that why i have faith to believe that in the word of god there are established truths that this generation better get a hold of otherwise you're going to pick up the next wave and roll it out of here all the while waving heaven goodbye but i've come to tell your friend there is still power in the name of jesus and you better have faith in the name of jesus it is by that faith that the elders obtained a good report it is by that truth that they established they establish themselves stand with me please in the name of jesus in this altar right now in this place we call the altar right now there's enough healing power to raise the dead you can believe it or not it's here there's enough healing anointing in this altar right now that every bit of the fears of your past life and the destruction that the enemy is lying to you about can be dealt with and that that just like that the lord god can come in and overshadow and you'll feel that release of your past mistakes and failures it's called forgiveness it's here right now it's here you're going to wonder how you're ever going to live a a life that's that's pleasing to god i'm going to tell you right now in this altar there's enough holy ghost power to fill you and you'll hear yourself speak in a heavenly language as the spirit of god's working in you and your very countenance will change your very aura will swap out if you will you'll walk different you'll talk different you'll begin to wonder why there's such a great influence in your life why because that is still a truth that the spirit of god is what leads and guides you and changes your life i've come here today to help somebody and to encourage you you better have faith in the things of god and establish your foundation upon the rock jesus christ and every concern every fret every worry every problem everything that you need you will find it in the name of jesus you can breathe his name in the midnight hour and he'll be there you can breathe his name early in the morning and he'll be there you can breathe his name in a jail cell he'll be there you can call out to him in a palace somewhere and he'll be there you can sing about it you can shout about it you can pray about it you can talk about it you can run on it you can walk on it you can crawl on it you can be in it you can be out of it it's all in him everything about him it's in jesus so i invite somebody today to receive a word of encouragement and get to the altar and find you a place to connect with the almighty god and establish truth in your life pray with me right now in the name of jesus your anybody wants to pray is there anybody hungry for more of god is there somebody today that needs a little truth and hope in your life why don't you run to the altar throw your hands to heaven and begin to simply breathe that name scream that name shout that name jesus hallelujah there is power in the name of jesus there is power in the name of jesus have faith in that name have faith in that truth that's right that's right that's right come on he's near you right now that's right press through it get past the doubt get past the fear come on get past the question establish the truth today oh god you're on the throne i believe in you i trust you my faith is in you i believe in you come on that's right in jesus name come on that's right in the name of jesus come on prayer warriors where are you at pray come on intercessors where yeah it's time for prayer jesus you can jesus jesus jesus waymaker jesus heal or deliver jesus we call upon you that's right get up close to somebody and as our nation goes into election and so forth there's already so much out there that's just completely and fully established and planted in midair but friend of mine one thing is certain i was young and now i'm getting older but i have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread if you'll put god first in everything come on you need to make it a habit before you roll out the bed in the morning breathe that name jesus when you get to your desk at work breathe that name jesus before your first cup of coffee you better be talking to jesus come on they can't take that from you you can't lose that don't give it up but believe it's all in him it's all in him the fullness of the godhead it's all in him let's pray together lord thank you for our time together today thank you lord for the blessing of simply knowing your name being able to breathe that name with confidence knowing that you're god and you're on the throne i pray for the church right now i pray lord that you would help us to maintain our right minds in this hour and let our minds be stayed on you jesus bless every home lord that's here represented today and online bless their homes i rebuke the enemy in jesus name i plead the blood of jesus over each one right now in jesus name lord this week go with us every step we take let us take you with us go before us come after us be beside us i love you lord i believe you and i trust in you in the name of jesus bless our weak keep us lord we'll love you forever in jesus name somebody say amen
