Hurting in the Healing

joined with us today I am most certain that the majority of us have been at one time or another in our lives we have been in a position where we hurt ourselves maybe you cut yourself shaving anybody ever done that McCade yeah okay just just joking maybe your broken arm or a leg anybody ever been there yeah maybe you had you had an accident and you fell off a skateboard or swing and scraped your elbow or scuffed up your knee you may know what I'm talking about anybody I dare say that there's not many of us in here that enjoyed that moment in our lives did we I don't know a lot of folk that thoroughly enjoy pain nothing like a good punch in the nose man that just really makes my day I don't hear a lot of that pain is not something that the normal if you will person looks forward to in fact the majority of when you see a tree falling and you realize beyond the shadow of a doubt it's about to fall on you what should you do run away run away when you feel as if you're gonna hit a wall while you're riding a bicycle and and you're out of control what do you need to do hit the brakes hit the brakes if you're going to hurt yourself and you know that something bad is going to transpire our nature says whoa just a moment now when you're young you don't much consider the outcome or or what's going to happen in that situation kind of like when I was younger I didn't really think much when I was a teenager I didn't really think much about jumping off of a bridge into a river below me it was actually fun or I didn't really think much about running through the woods with the sharp pointy stick chasing somebody if I could catch em I'd pin into the ground and stick them with it it didn't really bother me I just knew it was fun or the famous game that we used to play my brother and I used to do this when we was bored as we would play what was called swapping licks anybody remember that game what you do when you swap licks no it's not like that haven't under with an ice cream it's where you brace yourself and you hold on tight and the other guy punches your square in the arm as hard as you can and then you get to hit him back my brother and I used to play that and he won all the time you'd stand flat-footed knowing that if you give up you just lost the battle it was sure pain but it was sure nice to be the Victoire now it's funny how that your mind evolves from really dumb stuff to really safe stuff I once thought that that it was a lot of fun to walk through water up to my waist in the middle of the night with a stick a pointy stick in my hand and a flashlight and the other and trying to find a frog that I could gig a gig to snake one time cuz he was close to me then the Frog was yeah there was a time in my life that climbing rocks and boulders was a lot of fun but then all of a sudden something happened I matured I grew up a little bit and now I can see myself sitting in the swing on my back porch with a cup of coffee in hand and I'm thinking a whole lot about the possibilities while sitting on that swing with the cup of coffee in my hand worrying about what if this rope breaks I am sure gonna be in a lot of pain anybody if you adults understand what I'm talking about I can hardly watch right now events unfold that brings pain or suffering to somebody it makes me cringe I can just imagine what's gonna happen to them things things change in your life you used to go through it think nothing of it and then as you get a little older you begin to count the cost of a broken leg begin to count the cost of a scar cut across your face and and then you begin to realize the tolerance of pain that you once had all of a sudden changes any of you men out there feel like you're about to die because you got hurt so I didn't ask the ladies because anyway they go to death's door and all that stuff right yeah we don't like to hurt stay with me for a minute in my mind when I see young people doing things that's about to cause them great pain and suffering in my brain I'm playing out to him what's about to happen and I'm like oh this is not gonna be pretty at all spoon smack boom new that was the that looks like that heard I'm playing through what could possibly go wrong with that little guy running with scissors I mean what in the world could happen with that child running through the parking lot my brain I'm going through all this stuff why because I know beyond the shadow of a doubt there's no joy in suffering when you've hurt yourself anybody ever been hurt before yeah maybe a slap on the face maybe a cut on the leg maybe you smashed your finger in a door yeah you got hit on the head with something when you hurt there is only one thing that you are looking forward to and that simply is this you're wanting very fast for the pain to stop that's why when your children come to you mom and they've hurt they're neither hold it up you know what they're wanting you to do it squish it and make it feel better so you know there's not a whole lot of healing in your slobber but for that child it means a whole lot and they take off running and playing again have you ever had a paper cut I said one that I don't even understand a paper cut anybody there go ahead don't be the same we've all yeah paper cut it is almost so small you can't notice it but it's one of the most painful things that could happen don't you ever lick an envelope and cut your you know you don't know what I'm saying right the worst thing it takes a second for that little cut to happen but it takes days and days and days to get it out of your mind and to finally realize that putting your hand in your pocket doesn't have to hurt because the after-effects of the hurting can last and last until finally something triggers and you get over that pain all you want that moment I'm going to stay with the paper cut for a minute all you want is for that thing that quit hurting so you can get back to a normal life of sorts you want to be able to use that finger you want to know that that it's okay and so you coddle it you wrap a band-aid around it somebody say hey what kind of accident were you in you take it off as a paper cut and they thought it was all bad and your god you got this book you can't really see it but it hurts so bad and here we are 2020 with Kovan you gotta sanitize your hands come on choir and soon as you hit squirt every look you don't know what I'm talking about with the pain as you touch it as you bump it for days and days it still hurts now there's one thing that you are certain of in your mind here what I'm saying right now you know the cut is over and you realize there will be a few days moments weeks whatever of suffering and pain but you also know if this thing would ever just heal I will be okay if it will just heal you know that there is healing transpiring because your body is generating constantly cells that are fighting this infection and all you know is this I know that this will won't be here forever but I wish it would stop hurting because it still hurts hear what I'm saying on this Sunday afternoon somebody there is no other way to go through healing except with the pain that comes with the healing there is no way to recover but to endure the suffering if you've ever had a surgery and you came through with flying colors anybody know what I'm talking about you find out after the surgery that the road to recovery is gonna be alone in fact many times you're not even messed up or hurting or might be discomforted but once you've had the surgery it's all you can do because the healing hurts more than the pain before but one thing that's on your mind I want to get this over with I want to go through it and whatever it takes to stop the pain that's what I want to happen why because even in the healing it hurts in fact you learn in life that once you've exposed a cut once you've got a broken bone you learn that the pain is what you feel knowing that once this is beginning to heal and you realize it it'll begin to itch a little bit it'll begin to hurt a little bit and then you'll begin to touch it and wonder all the while in the middle of the healing there is hurt but above the hurt above the pain there's a full little word that takes up residence and until the suffering ends you've got hope written across your mind I've come to tell somebody today that if there is pain in your life if there is suffering in your life you've got her real lies in the middle of hurting there is also healing in the middle of pain there is healing I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that when my body goes through something there's a healing process happening I stand at this podium today with all good intentions of helping somebody that is going through a time right now in your life of suffering and pain maybe it's not a cut on your foot it might not be a broken ankle or a broken arm it might not be a straight knee or scraped elbow but what I'm talking about is an event that has transpired in your life that hurt you you are suffering with the hurting you are reeling from the tears and the long sleepless nights somebody hear the preacher today you want more than anything to get past the pain you want more than anything to rise above the hurt but it stays around it's a constant struggle you pray and you believe but the faith that you have it remains intact you know that there will be a better day but you're still suffering in the healing and even times you have considered there must be an alternative way for me to take a medicine appeal a chemical that will change the way my body sees things I've come to tell somebody this is not the day to quit this is not the moment to give up and to give in to the hurt but in the middle of your hurt there's a healing that is happening our world hear the preacher today our world is full of folk that are looking for ways to mask the pain if I could just get away from it if I could somehow just cover it if I could somehow just be relieved for a moment all the while they don't realize that if you mask the pain that's in your body all you're gonna do is push it ahead and become a dad dicted - what's going through there your system can't handle the exterior you need to know that the god of creation put on the inside everything necessary to heal you I'm here to help somebody today I stand here to remind somebody right now it will hurt while it heals but it will heal in the book of Mark chapter some number 16 the words of Jesus verse 15 simply says this he said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature hear this he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned and these signs shall follow them that believe hear it in my name shall they cast out Devils they shall speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover notice in this statement that Jesus gave to his followers and my name things are going to transpire in my name and go and preach in my name going baptized in my name go cast out Devils in my name go speak with new tongues in my name take up serpents in my name lay hands on the sick and they shall recover these are bold and powerful statements and authority and authority and power over the infirmity and the sickness and the devils and the serpents even the tongue I'm here to tell you that the words of the master when you go in the name of Jesus there are great and wonderful things that will transpire here the preacher but one thing you've got to know is there are times in our lives when the Dilys transforms a life somebody snatched up out of a wheelchair under the power of the holy ghost somebody coming in old crutches of hurricane they go out shouting and dancing under the power of a glorious Savior I personally know someone who was a soccer player he broke his Achilles heel spun it up underneath had surgery disconnected he lost every ability to play soccer he was on the road to be a professional to make millions if you will playing his favorite game only to find out that in a moment his ankle was broken not to ever play again but because of his brother who consistently insistently persistently kept inviting him to the prayer meeting at the church down the road Xavier went one day just to shut his brother up but when he came through the back door here me and the Spirit of God began to move it only took a moment when he finally decided I can't either get up and walk out or I can get up and walk through the front he stood to turn and walk out the back door with his cast on his leg and crutches under his arm but instead for some reason he says his foot went down towards the altar and before this foot and that altar the miraculous healing power of the Holy Ghost went into that ankle through that cast stretched it out connected it reconnected it and for hours he shouted and danced with a cast on his foot but miraculous happened that's what we are searching for y'all need to listen to preacher right here every one of you young people every one of your moms and dads listen carefully if you have a physical financial mental spiritual need in your life the best answer is still prayer it's still prayer and some of us are hurting weary and tired and we want more than anything for the miraculous to happen in our lives after all isn't he able is it he God can't he do there are other times that recovery is the answer you want the hurting the pain you want the suffering to end now but God is allowing something to transpire in your life and he wants the human body to run its course stay with me the fact is we struggle with the way that God chooses to work in our lives you got to know something the young man I just mentioned a moment ago became a minister of the gospel I saw him personally pray for folks to do the same thing that God did for him and you know what God did God did not do the same thing for them I stood as a child and I watched time in a time and time and time again my pastor with emphysema spraying that stuff in his lungs just to be able to breathe many times standing at a podium preaching barely hanging on as he heaved and he's pitched the word of preach the word even dude preach the Word of God and somebody would come to the front and he would spray that this mouth to be able to breathe he'd spin around the podium he reached out and pray for them I watched him wrestle demons in the altar and stand up and spray in a turn and rebuked the devil and devils run out of that i watch people puke green and smart and stuff on the carpet I've heard the voice of the enemy as it began to fight against this man God in my childhood I remember and I remember time and again saying but why do you pray for others and yet you yourself have no strength to even stand through it and it was years later before he died that when I began in ministry I begin to help people and whatnot I asked him that simple question and he leaned back in his office chair and with a heave of his chest he simply said this whether or not God ever heals me does not determine whether God can heal or not I will pray with faith believing for every situation that I can if in the midst of that I am held onto this infirmity then so be it I choose to trust the plan of God rather than the plan of man I know personally what it's like to be sick in my body to be swirling in my head of lack of eating or situation or exhaustion understand and a pulpit and preach for for as long as I could and then somehow gained the strength to pray with somebody in the altar and God miraculously work on the umma and they walk out full of glory and all I can do is barely make it to sit down I wonder where is the justification in that and I struggle with that but I've come today to help somebody to realize that what Jesus told this followers in Matthew 28 verse number 18 and Jesus came and spake unto them saying all power is given unto me in heaven and earth you've got to know something friend it is Jesus Christ who holds the power to heal deliver and set free in any way he pleases so when you pray when someone prays for you to be healed we pray in Jesus name I wish somebody would repeat that with me right now come on say it with me in Jesus name mom and dad look at your kids and tell them we pray in Jesus name come on somebody you still believe in the name of Jesus in Jesus name in Jesus name in Jesus name I'm beaten as hard as I can with a sledgehammer hammer faith in somebody's wall right now that the enemy has built between you and your master it is in Jesus name I'm gonna declare it I don't care if you believe it or not understand it or not or comprehend it or not it is all done in Jesus name he has the power he can do anything he is the one it's in Jesus name it's in Jesus name it's in Jesus name it's in Jesus name devil you need to know that name it's in Jesus name enemy you need to know that name it's in Jesus name Nick's in Jesus name it's in Jesus name he has all the power all the power listen to me carefully please we pray lord this person has an infirmity or they have a spiritual need or they have a broken home or they have a situation they're going through God I pray that you would move on their behalf I pray Lord that you would do a work in them as pastor many times I say it even from this podium if you have a need it's prayer time I want to invite you to come and I take oil and I pour it on my hand and I follow the word of the Lord and I pray for you fully expecting that God is going to work that God is going to move and I have watched even many of you listen to preacher for a moment I watched many of you that have come to an altar fully expecting God to take it at that moment tears streaming down your face hands in the air trembling lips speaking in other tongues as I anoint you with oil as the ministry prays for you following the word of the Lord are trying to pursue what God wants us to do something's going on in your life only to find out and to realize that in just a few moments time that as you open your eyes it's almost as if the expectancy and the thrill of what's happening begins to move and this is what we've been trained in our minds to do I came up here with a shoulder pain and I came to be prayed for one of the first things that we then begin to do is what and if there's pain in it if it still hurts us if it still we feel that catch instantly our faith is dashed against the stone and we walk back to our seat and in our hearts in our minds we're so disappointed was my faith weak did I not believe hard enough is there a problem with the preacher is there a problem with the one on the left or the right why does this still hurt why is this pain and affliction still here and we walk out of the building discouraged and dismayed because somehow someway it did not happen the way that we wanted for it to happen there's a letter written by James chapter number 5 verse number 10 take my brethren the prophets who have spoken in the name of the Lord for an example of suffering affliction and of patience behold we count them happy which endure you have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the Lord that the Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy but above all things my brethren swear not neither by heaven either by earth neither by any oath but let your yea be a and your nay nay lest you fall into condemnation stay with me is any among you afflicted let him pray is he Mary let him sing songs is any sick among you let him call for the elders of church and let them pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up and if you have committed sins they shall be forgiven him confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that you may be healed the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much the old prophet of God hear what the writer says here they had faith in God to believe that he was bigger than they it's the only way that you can explain Noah working over a hundred years on a promise that God had given him it's the only way that you could talk about the face of Abraham or of a Moses it's the only way that Nehemiah could even be comprehended it's the only way that Daniel and the three Hebrew boys could be comprehended they believe either God can or God cannot either God will or God will not here we are today 2020 and we look back at these prophets they endured so much suffering funny strange I'm almost almost unintentional if you will what about Jobe the guy had everything and the god that he served took everything but because he held on to that God through the pain through the hurt and through the suffering the other side the Bible reveals the latter part of his life was more blessed was greater was more anointed than the former then that that was before this is what James said in his letter let your yeh be a and your nay nay I've come to mention it today in 2020 vernacular either God can God cannot either God will or God will not the fact of the matter is simply this the scripture stands firm if you are afflicted you pray if you are merry you sing about the goodness of the Lord if you are sick you be pray for by the elders of the church and you gotta believe that the prayer of faith will raise you up why because when you pray for somebody else there's a process of healing that even in the midst of the unknown and the question and the hurt and the pain if you truly leave it in the hands of God it's a lot like that little paper cut it ain't gonna get better tomorrow Doron it might be there a few days but I know that the healing of Jesus Christ is working in me and by the way he made me he'll raise me up and I will be complete and whole I stand here today to simply remind you that you might be hurting right now in one way or another your suffering may seem an ending you may feel like the prayers of the preacher are not very strong at all you may even question your faith to believe in it I don't think anybody in this room would simply say beyond the shadow of a doubt there's no such thing as a healer what I will ask you today is when will you ever learn to expect the outcome to be what God wants and not what you want so what happens in that process is the enemy begins to lie to you in the middle of your hurt because if he can keep you from praying if he can silence your song if he'll keep you from being anointed with oil and pray for by the elders then he knows that your faith is so weak there's no way you could ever rise but I've come today on this Sunday afternoon 10 minutes after 5:00 and I declare to you the whole counsel of the Lord I know that I'm a man and I know that I can fail and I can falter I realize that I get dressed every day like all of you do but I'm here to tell you friend it's amazing how on a Sunday and 40 minutes time we could be so close to heaven almost hear the angels sing we can pray one for another we could come with our suffering and our pain and our sorrow and ask God to move but because he didn't do it then we walk out and the enemy meets us at the car and when we hit the remote on our car and it unlocks the doors and we climb in the other door slams before yours the enemy's sitting there saying Church still hurt don't you and there's still pain there hidden there see I keep the little yellow I would have believed you God if you were to took it then but it's still here we forget the whole process that God's trying to put us through its regardless if it happens now or a day or a week or a year or ten years down the road it is God's will that has worked I know sitting in this room right now there are several of you that have pains not just physical but emotional and spiritual scars and and situations that you've gone through and you brought them with you today and some of you even believe that if I could just get to church I think God has a miracle for me today and you came in expecting the miraculous meaning your translation of the miraculous is God's gonna do and touch me slam you on the ground and I'll show up on YouTube tomorrow and God say ain't nobody alive gonna get credit for this but him you don't want your Cameron if you will to show it if that's all you want you don't want you to testify about that and go onto all the news channels and talk about how God came through for you you know why God it's not about that God could do that and everybody every news channel before you agree sure God could go but it is to he who endures till the end so right now in this room right now listening to me there are so many of you that have brought buckets of pain there are so many of you that have so much bitter and anger in your life because God hasn't moved and God hasn't changed it in fact you are so distracted by life if God wanted to heal you he'd have to snatch you up and throw you to the ground to do it because you have wrapped your life around everything else but him I love you listen to me carefully but I know through the Word of God that even in the midst of hurting there is healing and I know by personal experience that if I cut my finger if I let it you don't heal my body's got would it mean I know that as the body of Christ that if there is any sick among you let him pray if you're afflicted pray if you're happy and joyful sing let the glory of the Lord come out through your melody if you need something from the Lord you call on the elders they will anoint you with all and pray and the prayer of faith will heal you'll recover you may not jump straight up but you can recover you can recover you do not have to be wiped off the map push to the side thrown in the trash but you could go through the process of healing and let the glory of the Lord be seen in you there's no greater joy I will be honest as I can be right now please stay with me a moment longer there is no greater joy that comes to my heart than to watch this precious couple at the back of the church come in on Sunday internat look if you want to 80 plus years old bodies have got pain a lot of stuff going on why are you here today gotta be in church I gotta get to church I wish I could shout and dance and worship while I could just get here if I could just get here god I pray to God that these young people would realize the value of the treasure of depending on being in the presence of God why because God may not heal them and give him a body of a twenty year old but God is healing of them how by preparing a place for them so that where he is they could come and be the same thing he's doing for you I've come to tell somebody today if you have a physical mental financial so whatever spiritual whatever knee that's in your life if you will allow the prayer of faith to touch your life God can move and if it happens now give him praise but if it's a process every day giving praise every day give Him praise every day lift up his name every day magnify his name listen to me there's enough sorrow in mess going on outside these walls when you get into this place you can decide to worship the Lord when you make it into your car you get home you go into your house you can say this is the Haven this is my rest I choose to love and serve God and worship Him through everything I choose to believe him right now in this room somebody needs prayer you've been prayed over multiple times but your faith is weak if you can't hang on to the prayer you can't hang on to the promise and so you let it slip away and the pain gets deeper and harder and more difficult somebody I'll know exactly what pastor's talking about you begin to cover it you pushed off on top of it embarrassment shame disgust discouragement begins to push its way into your life if you could be healed now it would be a great challenge because you don't believe that God can now see anybody notice what is transpired through this summer and we've not been able to go to camps or camp meetings some of us live for that that wouldn't happen now questions this if everybody in your family bust hell wide open are you going to are you willing to go to heaven as you hurt Paul talked about it so many times these afflictions these things like I've been stoned up and spat on I've been putting left for bed I carry these marks in my body but yet for me to die but I will carry these stripes and marks every moment that I step in his presence because it's all about him I want you to stand with me please everybody standing you've got a need in your life for the damn Gibson would you come help me please or the Horten come help me please you've got a circumstance that you're facing right here brother facelet these are men they work jobs they have families they have struggles Goods and Bad's but I'm believing that today God can touch your situation you can recover through the process of prayer and believing in that prayer now this is how we're going to do this brother Doron you keep doing what you're doing if you need if you have a physical financial spiritual whatever kind of need in your life I want you to bring it right now with you gather it up as much as you can hold up bring it in close I don't matter what it is it's just you no matter what it is some of you have cried so many tears that you hurt some of you have been broken in so many ways you've so confused and for them right now lay your hands on come on come in close and believe it throw your hands to heaven every one of you in faith I want you to believe it right now Jesus I don't know how it's gonna turn out I'm not sure what's gonna happen I don't have any idea what's gonna transpire but I am so tired of the pain I am so weary of the suffering I choose at this moment right now to give it to you Lord to believe you for it Lord in your name Jesus there is healing right now the process of healing has brought me to this place and it will continue to carry me through come on and I'll pray for you let your faith grow right now I'm believing you for it Lord I'm trusting you for Jesus door aha come on reach for the Lord right now that's right reach for heaven right now he gonna know you're never
