would you pray with me right now lord we love you jesus we need you you are all together lovely lord perfect is your name jesus we believe you lord for the miraculous right now we trust you lord god that your word will not return void in jesus name i thank you lord for the opportunity today to come into this place i thank you for the body of christ for the family of believers thankful lord that your anointing rest upon this house right now we have worshipped you and loved you we have come lord and praised you and now lord let your word work within us i make myself available to you jesus one more time lord take calls from the altar and touch these lips of clay i'll bless you forever you are god and i need you would you give him praise right now before you sit down you're an awesome god we sit here today i'm sure that there is a whole lot of stuff that many of you are concerned about for a brief moment after the end of another week of the hustle and the home of life we have spent the past few moments together in praise and worship unto the lord god singing and music truly does calm the savage beast does anybody in here identify with it i'll mind telling you to see your face on another sunday it helps me to get through another week that i'm soon to face i'm so glad that you're here today you look really nice with these bright lights in my eyes i can't see none of you i know that for the most part we all enjoy the getting together so that we can encourage and we can help one another thank you on the light board what a great fellowship we have in cornerstone apostolic church turn to somebody close to you and tell them right now how much you appreciate them and how much you need them in your life tell somebody that would you i need you in my life the church a body of believers in the name of jesus the church a group of followers disciples if you will of the teaching of the words of the lord god that you hold in the book which is in your hand your bible you and i we are connected somehow to a vast body of believers that literally covers the globe at this very moment i am astounded that there are others in many other countries around the world who have joined in to their worship service and they're worshiping the same god that you and i are worshiping that's that amazes me this past week for an example of the united pentecostal church international we had our general conference it was online it was stream but there's information that came out and i'm blown away by what's going on in our world it it almost seems like a story that's simply been made up how can it be stay with me how can it be that in over 7 000 languages that are now active on planet earth according to if you'll go on and google it how many spoken languages are there it'll tell you seven thousand ninety or seven thousand one hundred and three it depends on who's talking that day but that those seven thousand plus or minus languages they are worshipping the name of jesus right now i realize there's 24 hours in a day but i know that somewhere on the other side of the earth it's morning time but they're rising up to pray i know that right now somewhere it's the middle of the night but they're crawling in the bed after a prayer meeting why because our god is worthy in any language in any tongue in any country in any city in any community in any small village or large city the name of the lord jesus is great and greatly to be praised at present just for another example in the united in our organization just one organization there's a bunch of them but just in ours we now have a presence in 190 plus nations around the globe according to the world information there's just a little bit over 200 nations or territories that cover the earth so right now this moment someplace in the world in some other language in some other culture in some other way of life doesn't matter rich or poor doesn't matter skin color or language somebody right now has received the gift of the holy ghost there's a child right now going down in water baptism in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins i'm talking right now this body of believers it's bigger than chattanooga it's bigger than cornerstone apostolic there's a world out there that the lord jesus died for we just happen to be a part of it i'm glad that i know his name to be jesus i'm so thankful that i know the power of the name of jesus and yet we will all after service today we will return to our homes and we will pick up our lives and we will live them in so many different ways just as in any building there are accountants there are teachers there are nurses there are factory workers there are construction workers there are administrators there's students there's cooks there's drivers of all kinds so many different things so many walks of life if you will so many careers and and and jobs that they do individuals common folk living life every single day every one of them's got their hopes and their dreams if you will families messed up with other family members they're dealing with the kids that are not listening to parents we've got husbands and wives at odds with each other struggles and trials going on all over the globe on your job at school everything that goes on all of the struggles with the same things putting food on the table a running nose from the baby trying to buy diapers trying to understand homeschooling with your kids whatever the situation is we are now a part of a system of the church of 2020. look at your neighbor and say welcome to my world by this time next week we're going to gather one more time if the lord tarries and we will one more time bring our lives together into the church house it is in that atmosphere sunday after sunday that you come and you struggle and you're weary and you're trying but something somehow changes when you get up next to the family of god hear what i'm saying today i'm not trying to oversimplify all the details of your life i'm not standing up here acting like i know what your shoes feel like because i haven't walked a mile in your moccasins it's true but i've come to tell somebody today i've come to encourage someone today in your spirit we are all a part of something that is so big and powerful and strong and great that it takes an entire world to hold it all together i'm telling you today if you could ever understand the real meaning of the name of jesus christ you'd realize it ain't enough to praise him in english it ain't enough to praise him in spanish it ain't enough to praise him in chinese it's not enough to just love him in german but it takes all of us lifting up the name that's above every name hallelujah so we gather every week and we do our part in the family of god worshiping and loving him now follow me for a moment if you will as i look back into the scriptures at the beginning of the new testament i can see that there is a change in the makeup and the values of the families of that day stay with me the book of matthew mark luke and john they write about the good news the gospel of jesus christ everybody said the gospel yeah and all four of these guys they give a different perspective if you will about jesus and what he did a lot of the stories you'll notice they kind of overlap and you can read one and part here and you can see how that thing's connected because they were all there just with a different point of view something very intriguing about these gospels is they all are in harmony one with another they all give a different viewpoint but yet they're telling the story of jesus now if i understand a little bit today about the 2020 generation and the way that information and news can spread so quickly and i understand that within seconds of an event happening it can be seen right now all over the world then i have to wonder in the age of no computer no internet yeah i believe it there was a time when there wasn't in an era of no news outlets no talk show host stay with me no no no people to talk to they were miles and miles apart how that an announcement of the birth of the son of god how could it be proclaimed so that all would know about it how is it possible that a baby born to a young couple in an animal crib no doctors or nurses to assist or to proclaim what happened middle of the night in a town full of capacity all living their lives simply following the law and the commands that they got to go pay their taxes and be counted it is in that setting that the lord jesus christ was born into this world there was no way to get on google there was no way to snapchat it there was no such thing as a selfie there was no way to let everybody read about it it simply had to be proclaimed from an angelic voice into a human ear but then the human ear heard it something inside of their heart began to roll over and then they declared it everywhere they went shepherds didn't stay in the field they went and found this christ child the wealthy the rich the wise guy didn't stay up in his castle but instead he wrote for months looking for this christ child know what i'm saying this afternoon when it comes to the things of jesus there's no way to keep them silent there's no way to hush it up you might close your mouth but somebody on the street will cry out you all might sit there silent but the lord god will cause a rock to begin to bless his name oh what a wonderful savior that we serve now i'm not talking about the christmas story today turn to your neighbor and say put the tree up i'm just simply try some of y'all got to fall anyway i was in home depot yesterday i was so discouraged all the christmas decor for sale lord jesus i'm sorry sorry so in our modern world with all of the advances and the intelligence that we have in our system of life and of communication that we have in this generation in which we are in we live in the daily hustle and bustle of life do we not how do we better understand then the actual events as they happened follow me for a moment we'll go to one of the gospels luke chapter number 1 verse 5 says this there was in the days of herod the king of judea a certain priest named zacharias of the course of abya and his wife was of the daughters of aaron and her name was elizabeth and they verse 6 says we're both righteous before god walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the lord blameless and they had no child because that elizabeth was barren and they both were now well stricken in years is there anybody in this house today that understands well stricken in years most of us have no idea what stricken means it's like we were struck i've been hit with these years well stricken in years in other words these folk were old i just offended someone i'm sorry these folk were of age zacharias his wife elizabeth they were an old couple they had served in the office of the priesthood in the temple at jerusalem this is a short version here listen to it these people were not prime personnel that should have been used for the task in which they were given no but that was god's plan an angel visited this priest as he served in his office and told him zacharias that he was going to have a son there was no doubt there was something going on in his mind and he's looking if you will through the the incense smoke as it's burning and going up and he's standing there saying i am losing my mind i am very old i'm not my wife she's um i know how not to say that she's old but angel you know and because there was doubt there that this was actually going to happen the angel simply went no talk no doubt no word no question and at that moment read the story for yourself he comes out of there and they're like man what's happened to zacharias evidently he's seen something evidently there's been a vision he's just so set back about it and every time he'd open his mind no doubt some of you pray that prayer daily lord if you could so he goes home and he's writing that's all he can do i didn't point to anybody oh just be nice to one don't elbow your spouse lord let him be saved just leave him alone but he's trying to communicate in all of this frustration and there's events that begin to unfold actually happening in the life of elizabeth he can't say anything about it he simply has to stay there and watch as all this stuff begins to unfold he notices though very soon that she indeed is showing the signs of holding a baby anybody here understand that that outward appearance and you understand the attitude and the spirit in which that comes with that the kindness and gentleness that she speaks zacharias has nothing to say about it imagine that's your way to communicate brother gibson all she has to do is take your little note go stay with me stay with me stay with me but the day came when the boy would receive his given name they went to the to the office they had the boy circumcised it was the law zacharias at that point noticed this he at that point simply opened his mouth at the speaking of his wife his mouth now opens his wife already said he's going to be john and they're all saying no it's not possible there's no john in your line he's got to be called zacharias the 31st or whatever but instead there's one word came out of his mouth john and everybody and i can only imagine now y'all gonna listen to me now for nine months i've been shut up my fingers are sore i've been writing everything that i knew that i could write but something has happened now the promises of god have unfolded within hey hear what was said here in luke chapter 1 verse number 68 as he cleared his voice now blessed be the lord god of israel for he hath visited and redeemed his people and he had raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant david i can see him now oh zechariah's getting his rag out as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets which had that sense of the world began that we should be saved from our enemy and from the hand of all that hate us to perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant the oath which he swear by our father abraham that he would grant unto us that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies i might serve him without fear hear me now in holiness and righteousness zechariah said before him all the days of our life and thou child shall be called the prophet of the highest for thou shalt go before the face of the lord to prepare his ways to give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins through the tender mercy of our god whereby the day spring from on high hath visited us to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death to guide our feet into the way of peace notice what the bible says in verse 80 and the child grew and whacked strong in spirit and was in the desert till the day of showing unto israel all that zacharias could do while he watched this pregnancy of his wife unfold god allowed him to speak into this promise as it was being fulfilled hear it and everything that zachariah said was prophetic to the little boy that was just born with his blood flowing through his veins john came into this world listen to this with a voice to declare the soon appearance of the salvation of israel jesus would be born of a virgin in an unorthodox way and john came into this world with a purpose he came to prepare the way he was in the deserts one translation literally literally says he was in wilderness separation luke three and two in us caiaphas being the high priest the word of god came unto john the son of zacharias in the wilderness and he came into the country about jordan preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins as it is written in the book of the words of isaias the prophet saying the voice of one crying in the wilderness prepare you the way of the lord make his path straight every valley shall be filled every mountain and hill shall be brought low and the crooked shall be made straight and the rough way shall be made smooth and all flesh shall see the salvation of god john comes out of the wilderness out of the desert out of that isolation with a message you better repent you better turn around humanity and you better know that you've got sin in your life and you need those sins to be remitted oh what a message remember the days in which all of this was unfolding listen to me temple worship was still done to whatever degree that it was done the environment in which john comes is that he is as a voice crying in the wilderness preparing the way of the lord because jesus would soon come and you thought that john had a message that was harsh listen to me john the bible says if you'll read through it he calls them vipers and generations of vipers and all the while he's looking them down in the eye and he's telling them there's something about to happen on planet earth that's going to change your world you thought that that message was harsh you wait till jesus walks on the scene and you just wait till jesus walked up in a funeral and looked at death in the eye and said to it death you're not going to take this child i'm going to restore life to it hey you thought john had a message what about when jesus came sit them down in groups bless it now feed them hey what about when jesus ran through the temple and called it a den of thieves and as he screamed and yelled at him at whatever tone he used he told them beyond the shadow of any doubt this will be a house of prayer unheard events would transpire things would unfold why because when jesus comes on the scene everything aligns with jesus here we are in 2020 in all of the events that are unfolding every single day in our lives y'all stay with pastor outside the walls inside the walls on your job on your computer in your finances in your health whatever it is every passing day brings more and more question and more and more possible uncertainty but just hear it as john faced in the days in which he came and preached john work in the environment of questions and chaos that we are facing perhaps today similar situations so what do we need to do in this hour i've come to tell somebody the hero of late the lord has woke me up and spoken to me very vividly even this morning at 2 31 in the morning i thought it was just another time for an old man to get up but instead i couldn't go back to sleep i snuck out of bed not to disturb my wife i went into the living room sat in a chair and i began to call on the name of the lord as quietly as i knew how and for some reason i began to realize that what john's purpose was in that day of chaos in question was simply to tell the world that there's one coming and he's going to be so powerful it's going to change everything might it be in 2020 the lord god is calling us into a spirit of john to go into the world and tell him jesus is coming he's about to split the sky you better know that when he gets here when shiloh comes everything will be revealed you'll not be able to get away from him you'll not be able to run away from him every knee will bow every tongue will confess it is our job in this hour friend to be the one that says it as loud as we can there's one coming and his name is jesus oh i wish you'd worship him right now before jesus comes there is something that has to be presented to the world before jesus came the in the flesh the first time he could not walk into the world without their first being a declaration of who he is hear it i'm convinced god is perfect in all ways somebody say amen so i've got to believe just got to believe brother duran that when god said i'm going to make this old couple give birth to a child and more than that i'm going to require of them that they put him outside the city i want them to come in out of the wilderness looking all strange camel skin smelling like the wilderness oh i'm so incredibly blown away by this because the bible speaks of john and says that there were other priests there were others that were in the temple there were those on the sanhedrin there were those in business there were those who were politicians that came scratching their heads saying i've never heard anything like what john's saying tell me more about it how do we know this because we find in the book of acts that there were these apostles following they're full of the holy ghost we know the story been baptized in jesus name we know the story they find a group and they say have you received the holy ghost since you believe we've never heard of it then how were you baptized under john's baptism somebody was listening and even though it was simply a level if you will they understood there's more than just planet earth there's more than just my 401 k there's more than my education there's more than the money that i'm saving there's more than the car i'm driving there's more than the house i'm living in there's more than the job i go to every day oh they understood it it might not be all of that but at least we're hungry for it and instantly the bible says they were baptized in the name of the lord now stay with me mom brother john would you come first thessalonians 5 but of the times and the seasons brethren you have no need that i write unto you for yourselves know perfectly that the day of the lord so cometh as a thief in the night for when they shall say peace and safety then sudden destruction cometh upon them as travail upon a woman with child and they shall not escape the lord jesus will come and we should turn to somebody close to you and say jesus is coming say it like the old timers used to say you got a video or an image up here for me they simply used to say it this way jesus saved anybody ever been driving down an old country road a little sign nailed to a fence post jesus saves and you look over at it and turn your radio up yeah he do and then you go about your business living your life all the while on that particular moment in that day in which you're driving down that road that might be the very last sign that you put eyes on he's coming like a thief in the night you're not going to know it he's simply going to come but if you'll know the seasons if you'll understand the time he he paul wrote to the church there at thessalonica he told them listen you need to understand something i don't need to write this to you because nobody knows it but what we do know is he's a coming he's coming jesus saves and he's going to save you and your family and all generations that will call upon him what john came to do is john came to prepare the way of the lord and he began to tell everybody that he could listen you might be a viper you might be a generation of vipers but there's one coming down the road very soon i'm not worthy to untie his shoes i'm going to baptize with water but he's going to come and baptize you with the holy ghost and fire there's going to be an ignition switch inside of you and when that fire comes there ain't no the water that can put it out there's no depression that can put it out there's no harm that can put it out there's no kind of generational thing that can put it out here me there's no woke culture that can put it out there's no canceled generation that can put it out it is still the name of jesus it is still the power of jesus and until jesus comes you better know it's all in him stand with me please if you are here today if you're online today and you're wondering how what is what does this really mean the physician wrote the accounts as they unfolded in the acts of the apostles peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost for the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are far off even as many as the lord our god shall call and with many other words did he testify and exhort saying save yourself from this untoward generation the message is very clear and it still applies today what peter told them on that day was not simply go out there and find you a way to be saved but what he told them save yourself you better make up in your mind you better make up in your house you better make up on your job you better make up in your finances you better make up in your bank account you better make up in your children you better put it in your grandchildren you better make sure that everybody understands there is only one name one saving name and that name is jesus no other name like the name of jesus so i come to tell you today on this sunday evening jesus still says he can still forgive you of your sin he can still wash away your sin he can still allow you to take on his name in baptism to remit those sins and wash them away and then there's a promise he'll fill you with his spirit there'll be no doubt you'll hear yourself speak in tongues as the spirit gives utterance and you'll know beyond the shadow of a doubt i am in the church jesus saves there's a message today that's very clear to this generation i realize this past week as this mold enrolled and turned in my mind into my spirit god what's going on in this age why is there such stuff going on all around us why is there threatening why is there mockery why are they trying to stop churches from having service why is this going on and that going on why is it y'all don't i'm not political or nothing i'm certainly wondering what in the world's going on why is everything just turned upside down i've come to tell you why it's the same thing in john's day john came into the world and he separated himself until the time of god came listen to me church could it be could it very well be that over the last couple of years or a couple of decades in your life you've known god to be true you've tried him and time and again he's been found faithful but could it be now is the moment to get out of the wilderness now is the moment to come out of the desert open up your mouth and begin to declare the name of jesus there's no other name hear me you might be on your job sitting at your desk but there's nothing wrong with setting your pen down go control whatever on your keyboard and throw up your hands in the air jesus i thank you for the sunshine i thank you lord for the situation and we come on there ain't nothing more powerful than the name of jesus christ and all the power that he has is it for you and for those that know you and those who want to know him jesus saves there are some here today you stand very close to the edge of becoming a fool because you're ignoring what mom and dad say and you're ignoring what neighbors are saying you're ignoring what people around you who love you desperately are trying to tell you if you don't get it together now you got no guarantees for later and right now young person right now young adult right now mom and dad old person like it didn't matter you could stand right here on this sunday afternoon at 504 and you can laugh and think that it's all funny and all fun and games until you feel the very first heat come out of hell as you're dumped into the bottomless pit don't think it's not for you god made her the heavens did he not but he's also prepared a place for what for those who disobey he would that none would perish but that all come to know him i don't want you to perish is what he's saying but i know some are going to be hard-headed on this sunday i say it all the time this altar is plenty big for all of us it's time for some of you to make a decision it's time for some of you to decide i'm ready to turn on my witness and my testimony more than just a silent witness but actually opening your mouth to say you know what you need right now you need to get under the spout where the glory comes out you need to let the name of jesus touch your life jesus can take away the addiction to drugs in one second jesus can take away the addiction to chemicals in one second jesus can take away the addiction to things that you're looking at or things that you're partaking of in one second jesus can stop them if you'll let him jesus can change your worst nightmare into a day spring moment where he can come in and breathe life into you that's how jesus works this altar is open right now for anyone and everyone who wants to pray who wants to kneel who wants to call upon the name of the lord right now come on peter told him repent be baptized you'll receive the holy ghost that promise is for you if you don't have it you need to run down here today and make up in your mind i don't want to live another second or another moment without him i know that john's witness was to prepare the way of the lord listen friend if you truly believe jesus is coming we've got a job to do as well we've got to make sure people know about him come on it's prayer time in the house of the lord come on get to the altar lift your hands to the lord and begin to talk to him begin to communicate with him lord i may not understand all the detail about what's going on but i do believe that you love me i believe that i can repent of my sins and you can forgive me of them i i believe your word is true i believe lord that i can go down in a watery grave of baptism in your name and you can wash those sins away and i believe that today you can fill me up with your wonderful gift of the holy ghost i'll know it beyond the shadow of a doubt there will be no questions about it come on somebody pray if you're a prayer warrior in here get up next to somebody who needs help right now and pray with them come on pray with them come on pray jesus pour out of your spirit in this house right now that's right come on people are hungry for the lord hallelujah oh that's right come on pray lord i give it to you lord i trust you with it lord i god is doing great things men go find a man ladies go find your lady we're going to pray one for another come on you just be comfortable with it get up close to them close as you feel comfortable get a hold of somebody we're going to pray one for another yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah come on the lord's coming soon your prayer right now for the one that you're connected to your prayer for them right now is that they would make heaven their home and whatever they got to do and whatever they got to change and whatever they need to deal with pray god give them the strength and the wisdom to do it so that they would rejoice as they go into heaven pray for them right now lord i want to see the church family saved i want to see my brothers and sisters i want to see them lord on streets of gold one day i want to watch them lord god as they worship around the throne with me whatever they're going through lord whatever fear they're facing whatever doubts they're facing whatever questions they see right now oh god i know that you can touch and change them whatever disappointments whatever regrets whatever bad choices they made the failures and faults that they found in themselves i pray somehow lord they would release it into you so that they could walk in newness of life god of glory i believe you for it god let them have revival in their home give them lord an outpouring of truth in their lives in their family god i pray for it in jesus name i believe you for it in jesus name i'm trusting you for it in jesus name yes yes yes i believe you jesus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah glorify your name i glorify your name i love your name hallelujah hallelujah come on that's right hallelujah there's victory in the name of jesus oh that's right come on press through the doubt press
