pray with me now Lord we we thank you we are always indebted to you we came to this place today Lord each one of us God with our own lives and with our own circumstances we walked into this room today Lord from different places different histories God all the stuff that came with us but in your presence there is Joy yes your right hand Lord the hand of power there are Pleasures Forever More by the power of your name today Lord we have sung songs about you we have prayed and brought our needs to you we have believed you Lord for the miraculous and right now Lord we pray for your word to be anointed as we hear it for your word Lord God to take root in our hearts that we may receive it today from you once again Lord I make myself available to you I so need you I so believe in you there are hungry Souls today in this place Lord I ask you let your will be done pour out of your spirit lord it's a gift from you feel them Lord overflowing with the wonderful gift of the Holy Ghost in the that every day but our nation has sought you found out in our Bible study how that was established that there would be a day in November the 4th Thursday that would be deemed as the day of thankfulness you're out of work you're out of school you're sitting around spending time with those you love and those others I didn't say who they were that you feel in the blank past few weeks in our Bible study we've been looking at the effects that a thankful heart has anybody here thankful today I'm certain that in this room there are so many things to be thankful for can I say it like this a thankful heart is a full heart today my heart is full but we are here now the end of this month next year or next month excuse me will be the end of yet another year I'm not sure any of us thought 2024 was a possibility yet here we are we're not only grateful for God's blessings and his presence in our lives but we have to understand that he lives in that heart of thankfulness amen a thankful heart we also have to understand that knowledge of who he is when we grasp a hold of his reality his sovereignty his power and his presence then he is worthy of all the thankfulness that we can give to him when you give him thankfulness regardless of the situation you find yourself right now when you are thankful and you realize that without him you are nothing then your identification comes to the place where you decide Lord I will identify with your grace your goodness and mercy mercy and I will praise you with everything inside of me John The Book of John 7:37 in the last day that great day of the feast Jesus stood and cried saying if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink verse 38 says this in chapter 7 he that believeth on me as the scripture hath said notice what he says out of his belly shall flow rivers of Living Water rivers of Living Water not stagnant ponds not a cup or a bottle but rivers of Living Water the one who will believe on Jesus a river of blessings anointing Glory will flow from that person why because if you understand the grace the mercy the love of God there is a power and a presence that comes from the reality of who Jesus is in your life friend listen to me you may simply call on the name of Jesus and and that's as far as you get but to the one that calls on him and believes on what they've called on the one that trusts that he is on the throne doing what he does to that person then you recognize the fact without him I'm nothing but with him I can do if I trust him and I believe in him the the you saw it was written in r in your king James there is a an abundance that flows from your belly your inside it moves it it develops it it shifts it grows it swells it come I want you to understand today that the facts of the blessings of God are real you are here today because of the truth in the word of God if you seek after him you'll find him if you're hungry and thirsty for him he will satisfy your thirst and your hunger what we truly need today in this generation somebody needs to find the joy of the Lord the sheer understanding of who God is now Joy listen to me carefully Joy is is often misunderstood in our world Joy by its definition is a state of Happiness a source or a cause of delight now the fact me remains this if if we go to the definition of what the dictionary tells us then we will all depend the joy in our life it will depend on the happiness that we feel and so many folk in our world today are simply not happy and therefore they give all of the blame and they give all of the credit and they give all of the stuff to those who don't deserve it or to those who are not willing to accept their responsibility and in so doing how many many are tired of hearing that phrase you know I just wasn't happy anymore you know I'm just he don't make me happy no more she she she don't understand how I need to be happy and we have based the reality of where we are on lies and untruths stay with me the reason there is joy is not because of what you feel like you are worth or the value that you bring into your own situation but I've come to declare to somebody that true Joy comes when you get God in your circumstance true Joy says I don't have to be happy to know God is still on the throne you know what I'm not happy when I run out of coffee creamer but that don't change the fact of who God is I'm not happy when they tell me they're out of a sweet biscuit at Hardies no it don't change who God is listen to me I I don't I don't have to be happy when they come by and say your car is not g to be finished till tomorrow but that ain't got nothing to do with who God is the fact Still Remains H out of my belly flows a river of Living Water and it's not dependent on my circumstance my situation nor my location but it's all because he is in control and that spirit of God is Flowing out of me and I can say beyond the shadow of any doubt uh the world may fall apart uh it all may crumble to the ground uh but that doesn't change who I am and who he is as humans so often we associate stuff and possessions to our level of Happiness oh Lord don't let me meddle today okay I will I mean I can I there there was a generation a whole bunch of decades ago they had one job their whole life they retired from it and they went home and farmed boy that's short and sweet huh my dad give you an example let's see today if he were alive he'd be 84 that generation 15 years old kicked out of the house joined the military did that 16 years got out got a job worked that job boom done died at 47 come on just what he did one there's that's what I did who I am and we got folks sitting in here I'm not I'm not condemning I'm not pointing finger to anybody I just know right now we've got a mindset in our society says if I ain't happy I'll change and go find something else that I'm happier come on you don't believe it go to the next drive-thru restaurant somewhere find out just how happy they are if I'm lying tell me the only one you like to go to Chick-fil-A cuz they use the word my pleasure got that look too my pleasure at least they said something oh y'all know I'm y'all know it's a true pastor's on it today come on Pastor preach you know why it's cuz our world changed so we got children today that live in our world we got children that go to school with your kids we got we got families that are busted up and all broken because somehow someway they got confused on what happiness is they thought happiness was a smile on their face and a little bubbling up inside and what they didn't realize was come hell or high water God's the same and it didn't matter if you were down or up God was going to be the same and as long as you were looking at him it was going to be all right see I got to tell you there are days you're going to have you're not going to at all be happy but that doesn't change the fact of who Jesus is as humans listen to me it is not about your stuff it is not about the things it is not about the junk but what it's about is you understanding that river that flows out of you uh makes you joyful it makes you get up in the morning and decide uh I don't care what happens today uh this is the day the Lord has made I'm going to rejoice and be glad in it why because everything is about him and it's not at all about me past I'm just not happy no more man I've often wanted to be bold y'all know Pastor ain't very bold right some of y'all are y'all are throwing me under the bus right now I know I had people look at me and brother Daniel say I mean it's not happy man my first thought was well when were you ever happy and then that second thought is it ain't my fault you ain't happy they with me you going to blame me and walk away from from what God's doing in your life just cuz you ain't happy you're going to walk away from that family or that job or that circumstance CU you ain't happy and the fact is some of us I'm not really sure if we would truly understand Joy huh I know I'm just saying come on every everybody in this room I I could look at you right now look I'm GNA scan y'all ready sorry sister Kela sorry sister K all it just just way shall see Jesus in the ha coming because he look like me here here's the fact of the matter listen this came early to my house growing up this came early to my home when I got married my wife had the audacity way back Yonder when we first got married she had the audacity of buying a book that was happiness is a choice huh brother Rob I saw it laying on the nightstand I covered up I just flip it over you know I don't know I was just cleaning doing what I was my chores trying to make you happy cuz I found out it was a choice and I was one you to choose right y'all know what I'm talking about happiness is a choice there's such a true statement right there and in every phase of life you can look at your circum irance and it can blow you out of the water it could destroy you and cause the enemy to stand there with arms crossed and simply say I didn't even fire a shot I just had you doubt God your happiness does not depend on who God is never forget God never moved he never changed he's the same yesterday right now and forever you could have called on him a thousand years ago and he would have moved you can call on him a thousand years from now and he'll be God why is that so cuz his word is forever settled where you ain't there yet you can't change it stay with me the power to Simply understand what real Joy is it ain't stuff it's not power it's not Prestige it's not money it's not the things in this world that will soon pass but true Joy comes from the knowledge of who God is in your life how big is God in your circumstance was he the last thought or the first concern was it simply something you went to or was it actually you know what God it it's all blowing up right now but woo Glory there's still a God that loves me come on I don't know about you but there are challenging times when you've got to come to the conclusion that today God is your day today you gave it to me today God I have to make a choice if I'm going to be joyful in you come on you can all get in what they used to call mlly grubs you can all get in into the down and out and the disgruntled and the messed up but you've got to come to the realization and understanding friend uh that you know what I truly believe uh that God is in my life uh therefore I am on his mind therefore he has a plan uh it didn't drop when I messed up it didn't drop when somebody else messed up it didn't drop when cancer came it didn't go away when disease set in it didn't change when they left you it didn't alter State when you lost your job no but in the middle of every one of them you've got to recognize and realize the joy comes from knowing that God is forever god notice how David put it Psalm 3211 be glad in the Lord and rejoice ye righteous and Shout for Joy all ye that are upright in heart Psalm 51 and2 restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit Psalm 66 And1 Make a Joyful Noise unto the god All Ye Lands uh Psalm 89:15 uh blessed is the people that know the joyful sound uh they shall walk oh Lord in the light of thy countenance Psalm 98 and4 Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord all ye Earth make loud noises and rejoice and sing praise Psalm 126 and5 they that se in tears shall reap in Joy uh why that's just to mention a few uh you might be brokenhearted right now you may be down and out right now but you get a hold of the reality of who God is and who you are he didn't say you'll never have a bad day nor a valley no he simply said keep walking keep walking it may endure for a dark season but in the morning Joy coming now I I got to make my time okay David was a kind of a guy that man this dude was so messed up I'm just telling you huh skilled I mean come on anybody in here know how to Chuck a rock with a rope I don't about I try I got one of those SL things man I about hurt myself so many times I swinging around what I'm fing to do by the time it come you it's like when he was a kid come on some of y'all help me out you remember what nunchucks are yeah yeah y'all are laughing huh y'all are laughing like yeah I didn't do that that was my brother yeah right whatever come on huh and it was my dad who bought me now I'm joking tell my Dad here here's what you need it'll fix you right now listen to me David had been through so much in his life we don't have time to to go through all the ups and downs I want you to know something David was human it was a direct reflection of humanity blessed chosen anointed listen to me not wanted pushed aside oil ran Glory fell listen to me had the opportunity to kill the one in front of him but did come on on and on made choices about a woman on a roof come on y'all know the story and on and on it goes the fact Still Remains in this one thing David had the ability in all of the situations to sit down and write and every one of those psalms that I wrote to you there is something to be said about those who will simply trust who God is in God's plan for your life so let me ask you this way when's the last time God walked away from you and decided you were just too much of a struggle come on you can answer anybody just yell it out come on we'll listen yell it out you might have felt that way agreed you may have felt like you know what I'm not happy therefore God must not care therefore my life must be over and all the while God standing there saying I didn't say none of that you did the enemy lied to you you're listening to the wrong voice my voice says I love you and I'll keep you I'll never leave you I won't forsake you I'll be as close to you as simply mentioning my name you can talk to me about anything in the quiet place or on a mountain in the loud or in the silent I'll speak to you I'll listen to you I'll have a relationship not only that I'll call you mine and you can call me yours right hey y'all y'all want me to go on you can wake up in the morning with him you can put him to bed at night laying there come on you can call on his name when nothing makes sense you can call on his name when everything's perfect in your life I come to tell somebody Joy is not dependent on you Joy is dependent on him and how you recognize who he is you've got to ch chose the fact God I know you are working I know you know what's going on I know you have a plan and I'm going to leave it into your hands come on I invite every single one of you right now to reflect on the reality of who you are and the reality of who he is and one thing you'll come up with uh if you truly believe that God's working in your life uh then all you can think of come on it's the oldtimers used to say it like this he ain't never done me nothing done me nothing buto he ain't never done me nothing done me nothing but good he ain't never done me nothing done me nothing but y'all get tired of Pastor bringing out these old songs I know you do but listen to me he ain't never done me nothing done mean nothing but good Lord I'm running trying to make a hundred why could 99 and I half won do oh come on somebody got to believe in this hour more than ever before all the confusion all the chaos in our world it does not have to affect the smile and the joy in your heart you can still declare you know what I know it's all Fallen I know it's all on the I realize it ain't making sense but there is a God that's holding me up right now and joy fills my heart to know in the midst of all the bad there's a good God in the midst of all the question there's an answer in his name is Jesus in the midst of all the junk there's a God who's got me in his hand in all the chaos and confusion God is speaking truth in this hour all the joy of the Lord is strength to you Joy is real touch your neighbor say it's real come on it's not a far-fetched idea it's not some concept that nobody get come on true Joy says Jesus has a plan for my life therefore I love him and I trust him I know Joy can happen in your life today I recognize the truth of who God is brother her would you come help me for a moment please notice again what the song psalmist wrote in how he worded it oh this is so strong Psalm 30 and5 for his anger endure but a moment in his favor is life now we all know this second part weeping may endure for a night but what now how is that even remotely real how can tears be at the nighttime and then the morning comes and joy overwhelms does not even remotely make sense to us come on why can't it say his anger endureth but a moment in his favor is life Joy endures for a night Joy comes in the morning see there ain't too many of us that are saying woo let me weep ah thank you for the tears Ain many of you right now say Lord I'm suffering woo because all of us want to have the good days the up days let me tell you something I say this and I'll say it again today for whatever reason I'm gonna bring it out again every single one of us believe God's A Healer but none of us want to be sick come on I don't like being sick I I despise the reality of sickness and junk and my wife hates it more than I do when I'm sick but the fact Still Remains some of you sitting here right now you went through a trial a test a situation in your life and you didn't like none of it it came upon you it overshadowed you it ran you over but then you recognize when the hand of the Lord came in that Joy came to you come on listen can you hear me today I'm going to identify real quick with what it's about you can take your sick child to the hospital to a clinic and they can look at you and say it ain't going to happen but for some reason God can move in that situation and say the oxygen levels are fine I don't know why this Baby's okay take that baby home he's fine come on am I telling somebody right come on you can put a baby in the nicku for 60 days but you got a mom and dad that'll pray for that baby he she's coming out you know why because Joy restored every day to you you can have a baby born that doesn't supposed to live and put that baby in a hospital but the first thing you do when you drag that baby home is bring it to an altar and say this is the joy of the Lord in my life why because in spite of my situation let me say it like this because of my situation the joy of the Lord came in and I'm stronger now than I've ever been can God heal you better believe it how do you know because he healed me can God provide you better know it how do you know oh joy joy joy joy joy joy got nothing to do with what you're going through it's Joy comes from him stand with me it's 131 Joy huh now here's how this works listen to me carefully when you think about what the Lord's done in your life and you bring that to your remembrance then you listen to me you identify with how great and wonderful God is and there in Joy comes and Joy works in your life you didn't get joy because of who you are you got joy because of him huh huh so you can get up tomorrow morning and not know how the day is going to unfold but you can decide right now today I get joy when I think about what he's done for me I'm reminded of his goodness and his grace and his provision I'm reminded of how wonderful and Powerful he is I'm reminded that even in my mess ups God's still God I'm reminded that in my Hang-Ups and habits and hurts and problems and all he's still God I'm reminded that no matter how good bad or ugly it looks God's still God therefore I've got something I can grab a hold of it's not negative it's not doubt it's not fear but it is a truth he is Joy he is Joy he is Joy uh we just came through a season of thankfulness where now we're going into a time that we need to remember the joy of the Lord is strength for you uh if you're feeling weak right now uh remember the joy of the Lord uh if you don't know how tomorrow is going to turn out grab a hold of the joy of the Lord uh if you're not sure about your health problem get a hold of the joy of the Lord if you don't know how it's going to happen get a hold of his Joy now I'm sure brother her knows this song This Joy that I have the world didn't give it to me this joy that I have the world didn't give it to me this joy that I have the world didn't give it to me the world didn't give it can't take it away now hold on a minute hold on see that's pretty cool y'all will sing a song like that now I wonder if anybody believes it now I didn't wonder if anybody's convinced of the fact the world didn't give you Joy it came from him therefore when you get out of the bed when you lay down when you're in your job when you're going about your way when it all falls apart can you
