thank you brother Duran music team thank you Sunday school teachers and staff and coffee maker uppers and chair put her outers and baby Watcher archers and all of that thank you all so much it is so important your purpose and your place here in the Kingdom all right we can all be thankful one to another give your neighbor a high five and say I'm sure glad you're sitting with me today foreign you can be seated again I'm thankful that you're here glad to be in God's service allow me today to say a thank you to brother van Dean brother Dan last week what a blessing what a blessing thank you guys um the look on their faces was very interesting and Nick just kind of came together how the Lord is you know God's so good at being God church goers we can really understand the Beauty and the blessings of attending Services together with people that believe or that are hungry or that are looking for the same kinds of things that we are right the fact is that we fellowship and we spend time together that makes life so much better the ability to to have a family to come to with into the house of the Lord is exciting look at your neighbor and say again I'm glad you're here today mm-hmm and here's what we discover as a family we we know the the little details and and one another's lives we've we found the fellowship that we have together whether it be at a at a connect weekend or it maybe at a baby shower or whatever it is the church family is a lot like a physical family hey man we're all learning and growing and and we're finding and discovering things about one another uh weddings for an example you go to a celebration like a baby shower or a birthday party or whatever you make those connections and it endears you one to another I don't know about you but I would I would not like it if I came in here every Sunday and I didn't know anything about you guys I like the fact that I have seen many of you grow and mature I I enjoy the fact that I dedicated a large percentage of these babies I'm even more thankful that the Lord's allowed me to perform the marriage ceremony for many of our couples I'm sad to say but I'm thankful that I was at funerals of of people that have been dear to you that have passed away that's called the the family the activities that bring joy to the body of Christ now we all know please understand where I'm coming from today just like our physical families there are a few bad attitudes don't look around look up here look at me stay saved come on look right here and you deal with good days and you deal with bad days you deal with misunderstanding it's the nature of people coming together to live life there you go and and that's what we are establishing here at Cornerstone and in the lives that we're building we are trying our best to understand and to love and to live with one another if you can't do it here you won't do it there unless there is not the there I know that it almost sounds stay with me I realize that it can almost even sound cultish fact there there are some that have even even considering you you Pentecostals you you Jesus only folk you're just a cult whether or not you're in the church family or you work with a family or you're in a car club with another family there has to be things that you all have in common agreed it would be very challenging for me to join a motorcycle club meetings I couldn't get to them pull up in a car I don't have a motorcycle I'd pull up in a car and they'd all look at me and go eat one of those listen to me it's what happens when you connect with a group it's what happens to you when you connect with the family now I'll ask you this you can answer it in the best way you know how in the church family what is something that is common between all of us yes the name of Jesus let me show you something that happened in the New Testament notice in the book of Acts chapter number 4 verse 31. when they had prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled together listen to this and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and they spake the word of God with boldness notice number 32 says this the multitude of them that believe were listen what it says were of one heart and one Soul neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own but they had what's it say all things common because of that term all things come and there's all of a sudden a multitude of people that have for some reason drawn themselves together and all of a sudden they have things in common how can it be that in such a short amount of time that this group this people can come together and they have things that are common no doubt that came from all walks of life with all different kinds of attitudes actions and activities going on in them and yet in the midst of that something connected them they began a growing process hey that's what happens when you and I come to the house of the Lord every week we're we're in the process of God working in our lives we're growing we're learning we're falling we're getting up we're we're putting Band-Aids on boo-boos we're trying to make our lives better we're encouraging the Next Generation we're helping those who don't really know come on when the miracles happen in your life you demonstrate the power of God God in you and therefore the family unit grows your heart your desires they connect with the next Guy the one sitting next to you and through that process there is a power and an unction called the holy ghost that demonstrates itself in our lives listen to me I speak right now of the community that is built because of the spirit of God that breathes in our lives every day listen friend when you come in the house of the Lord your life can be full of trouble trial and Temptation test and all the other bad things but if you get in the presence of the family of God and there's a unifying of your spirit with the one next to you God will begin to breathe hope and life in you listen I know that life happens and problems happen and issues happen agreed but when I rub shoulders with somebody who can declare you know what I once was lost but now I'm found I know what it's like to go through that but God brought me through and I can gain encouragement from that there's a community a family that happens the church family man listen if I were to give opportunity today and pass a microphone around the room every single one of you could declare the Miracles and the blessings of God in your life come on you could talk about it you know some of you would say you know what y'all know I'm not really good at this and I don't know but listen to me and you throw the mic in the air and you speak like you don't care come on y'all remember the message I preached years ago on the power of the microphone yeah you mean a little old lady that's all frail and it can't hardly move come on sister would you testify all of a sudden this why because you know the goodness of God and you can talk about it and everybody around you says what oh my no they go yes I was there when that happened or yes I declare it happened in my life why because all of us bring our own testimonies together look at your neighbor and say you're part of the family come out look at him convince him you're part of the family note I'm glad you're here tell somebody as we grow together we look to others to connect with the family come on the old Sunday school song rings I need you and you need me and we're a happy fam IL Lee uh that's one word family come on we need one another we need to grow together we need to experience life together we need to watch one another experience life together we need to know that when the young folk come to the Altar and God fills them with the Holy Ghost that there's a vision and a plan for their lives and Mom and Dad grandparents you can pray for those babies and God will do a work in them listen to me the miracle of the future is not the future it's right here as God is unfolding that come on many times are hurts bind us together so often we have likenesses and they draw us together just as much as the differences that we have bind us one to another I want you to understand something that not all of life's situations are good come on but some of you can identify with others through your suffering and your pain and you can tell that the one next to you listen I know what you're going through why because I went through it but blessed be the name of the Lord I'm standing here today come on you've got to understand something the strength that you have come together and they bring us to a point called All Things common and when the spirit of God is working it's telling this world around us come on there's a group of folk that believe that I can change them there's a group of folk that will allow the blood of Jesus to cover them therefore come on what is your best answer for this world today I've come to tell you it's not better jobs and bigger government and more housing and more stuff it is the name of Jesus applied to their life come on all things common Jesus went about town cities and he walked and planted earth and as he did he spent a whole lot of time this is very intriguing for all of you Bible theologians and Scholars you study the simple life of Jesus you notice that he was always looking for ways to connect with others huh this first miracle that's noted in your new testament was where at a wedding I'm here to connect with others come on he left the wedding and convinced to walk in and out of towns and communities and Villages and hamlets and he was constantly looking for ways that he could have spent time with people listen to this this is very interesting the guys that were called Disciples followers they were the ones that Jesus called to do a task there was Tax Collectors there were fishermen there were zealots there were doctors lawyers if you will they were hard workers brought together with a common point that connected them and that was Jesus Christ was the common denominator no matter what life they had before Jesus Jesus accepted them y'all listen to preacher today and he allowed his spirit and work to be in their lives and change them even those people around would say we don't understand this but it appears you've been with Jesus all walks of life all backgrounds Jesus brought them together they formed a family a bond something that would stand the face of what in the face of what was to come for them the young men that Jesus called could not have known what was about to transpire the test and the things that they were about to go through they could not have known them but Jesus said if you'll know me you'll be okay if you'll learn my voice you'll be all right in all of the stuff you don't know lean on what I'm teaching you right now therefore hear me friend that the Connecting Point was strong enough to keep the church alive and growing it didn't stop and die when Jesus got in the grave it didn't go away or by the wayside when the persecutions began to happen but no the Bible gives explicit understanding as the pressure was put on as the trials and things begin to happen that the church grew daily stuff was going on why because if you ever bring Jesus on the scene it'll override any other bad thing in this world come on I'm thankful for the family of God because we are want to belong someplace you and I we want to be included somewhere it's all due to the fact that we all bring something to the table come on when you come into the house of God and you you connect yourself with the power of God there is something that's in you you may feel in yourself when you come to an altar Lord I am nothing Lord I am just a sinner I messed up my life Lord Has Fallen apart I've got nothing to bring to this table but heartache and suffering and pain anybody remember praying that prayer but in the midst of your Brokenness in the midst of your confusion and questions there was a hand of God that said exactly what you bring to me is nothing but give me a moment and I'll turn it into something and when he turns your nothing into something it can do anything why because it is part of the family of God you and I we are different yes we are but there is a commonality that connects us and that is the name of Jesus the spirit of almighty God that works within us listen to this would you listen for a moment Matthew chapter 9 verse 9 says this as Jesus passed forth from fence he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the receipt of custom saith in him follow me he arose and followed him it came to pass verse 10 says as Jesus sat at meat in the house behold many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples verse 11 and when the Pharisees saw it they said to his disciples why eateth your master with publicans and sinners now it's a very common occurrence in in Old Testament and in New Testament days they would gather together and they would bust bread I'm sorry the technical terms they would sup together I mean you like to eat we're about come on we're my drummer oh he's out okay they would spend time face to face as families and they would allow others to come in Jesus had a way with people he sees this young man Levi was his name you can find in another book another gospel Mark wrote about it Matthew was doing his job he was collecting taxes everybody say tax collector Jesus attracts him and simply he says to him follow me and the young Matthew gets up and he connects himself to the man Jesus he becomes part of the family a group a common connection begins to form now I could spend time today talking about where these 12 disciples were in the lives that they were living and I have complete understanding how that Jesus already had a relationship with them previous to him calling them out but suffice it to say that when Jesus finds these young men in the positions they are he simply says to them follow me I have something that I want you to do the scripture says they did it there was a connection there in all of these instances it wasn't strange to them it wasn't something out of the ordinary but there was something within these disciples that they would stand up and they would declare to anybody around sorry I'm no longer collecting the taxes sorry I'm no longer doing this sorry this is no longer what I I'm gonna do but instead I will be a follower of Jesus in this point of reference I want you to notice here in the story in Matthew it was the religious folk everybody say Pharisee they knew the law they understood the law they studied the law and they had it down pat and what they were doing is they were simply standing for whatever reason watching Jesus eat with Folk now who's the strange one you know okay here let's let's test this out anybody want to be a Pharisee today when you go out to lunch afterwards and you go into your favorite restaurant and you sit down I I challenge you get up from your chair and go over and just walk next to stand next to somebody eating it's what the Pharisees were doing make it worse watch me come here right here yeah come here buddy come here stand there look at him look at him look down at him there you go now this is what they do they oh you're just eating right enjoy your meal don't let us bother you and then one of them would go you elbow me back what oh you don't know Pharisees are looking at Jesus and all these guys sitting around you know what they say they don't say look who's sitting there Jesus they say look who he's sitting with follow me for a moment there's something about it when when the point of reference was that the Pharisees watching these Sinners and publicans the only thing that they could identify with was what they thought Jesus should not be doing and Jesus was demonstrating to them you need to understand something that I have no problem nor issue with anybody in fact Pharisee why don't you come in sit down you can eat with us but they had all come on and you all understand this law Jesus was already dictating to them at that point if you want to be a part of the family of God and you want to have this connection and have all things common you're going to have to bypass some of the stuff that you think is right wrong good bad or ugly and what Jesus was telling them at that point come on you need to know something I'm sitting here with the sinner I'm sitting here with the public and Publican basically by definition was tax collector it was a group of them their jobs were to go out and work and then the Sinners came in and Jesus I have no doubt if I could in my imagination say Jesus is not sitting there like some of us might be Lord I hope they don't see me in here they're gonna think that I ain't churchy oh I can only in my mind imagine what Jesus is going to write that down baby I can only imagine in my mind what Jesus was doing good yeah tell another one you know and they're enjoying each other's what do you do at your dinner table is that what you do a herb is it quiet at your house during Meal Time come on go to my come to my house on the holidays when there's all 59 of us are gathered around the family it's who can be the loudest in there you know what I'm saying survival is the mentality listen to me when you get around people that you enjoy being around you're gonna show you're going to demonstrate that by the way you act you're not going to be reserved and wonder what they're judging you about or what's going on but because you're comfortable and you have all things common there's going to be a connection there I can only imagine what Jesus was doing as the Pharisees were looking on passing judgment come on Jesus how can you sit around with tax collectors and sinners you're supposed to be above that you're supposed to not have that reproach and the only thing Jesus could say to them was listen friend I've got to tell you something this is what Jesus said he heard what was said and this is what he said that they that are whole need not a physician but they that are sick I didn't come to sit in this house and have a meal with the Sinner and the Publican only to demonstrate right to you that I don't like you no I'm simply telling you this you think yourself healthy you might think yourself in control but you don't need a physician what you need is to get your jealousy and pride out of the way but to the one that's sick they need to know something there is help for my troubled soul there's somebody that'll Love Me In Spite of me there's somebody that's running after me even though I don't know where to go why because Jesus was telling them if you're well you don't need me but if you're sick broken hurting destroyed destructed messed up sinful all of the things you need a physician and that is Jesus I don't know about you but in my life I need him every day I'm well capable of messing up I'm well capable of falling on the ground I declare Jesus let me have things common with you the people that are whole complete without issues they need no doctor the explanation is this Jesus says to them if you're sick you need help it's a simple plan the Pharisees they didn't know what to say David they were standing there scratching their heads saying will what does this mean Jesus continues listen to this Matthew 9 and 13. but go ye and learn what that meaneth listen I will have mercy and not sacrifice for I am not come to call the righteous but send Sinners to repentance in everything that the Pharisees thought they knew in all of their education of the Old Law and all the details that they could express to you because of the way the law was written Jesus simply tells them to go and learn now I thought these guys were smart I thought the center folk would be the dumb ones but not so smart ones it's time for you religious folk he's saying to get an education I want you to learn what this means what Jesus came to accomplish in this world was not to punish and to condemn the sick and the hurting in life but Jesus came as a Healer and a restore to those who had pains in life and knew that they needed help Jesus now at this point notice what he did he sends the religious folk the Pharisees the ones that understood law the ones that understood the old way he he sends them on a mission he says go and learn go and do your homework take notes and learn what it means Jesus understanding what they were going through do you notice this is what he said I want you to go and learn what this meaneth comma I will have mercy and not sacrifice I did a little homework and trying to understand this Mercy why did Jesus bring this out in the house of of Matthew where the publicans were and the Sinners were gathered and all the people are pointing fingers at this this meal going on and this Fellowship that was happening why did Jesus make reference to this and simply say you know what you can make a sacrifice if you want but it will have no value now why because I have come to fulfill that law and when Jesus came listen to this as a spotless lamb he brought forgiveness he brought cleansing he brought restoration he brought healing he brought salvation he brought everything that Humanity would ever ever know listen if you are in this place today and you've been bought by the blood of Jesus baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you're full of the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues and you recognize and realize salvation you need to know something Mercy was applied to you you Mercy was given to you you should have been wrote off pushed off the Wayside and caused to go by the by to the by and by but instead Mercy showed itself what Jesus was indicating to the pharisynical court at that time is I've come to give Mercy I've come to allow people in their mess up hang ups hurts and habits and all the things that's breaking them up that I can give to them Mercy what does that mean it means you don't deserve it but I'm going to give it to you anyway it means your life is a mess but I'm offering it to you anyway what Jesus is indicating right now in this room in 2023 it don't matter what life you've lived Mercy is still available it don't matter what trouble you've come with Mercy is still right it don't matter what's happened in your past Mercy is applied why you need to learn it is through Jesus Christ he alone learn learn that Jesus is the answer I wish you'd look at somebody and say you need to learn this when Jesus is giving them come on listen to scientists when they study they study science somebody say science to explain science they do what they talk about science come on medical people when they talk about medically things they don't ask me what that is they use medical terms you not call it a ward they call it some hakalasha flada McLean Glock sorry Vandy come on but when they're talking medically things they've got medically terms and they use all the letters in the alphabet agreed we understand that it's good common sense and when Jesus says to them you want to know about me you better get to know me and you better understand that I Am The Giver of Mercy why because I'm the lawmaker I'm the one that put it there I'm the one that can walk in and change it come on I'm the one that established this therefore I can come in and I can declare you deserve to die yes you do you deserve to hurt yes you do you're broken busted up and you got all these problems yes you do but I've come to tell you Mercy says to you I'm coming to you I'm picking you up out of that junk I'm giving you a new name and it's written down in glory I'm gonna allow you to walk in my name you can go into the pits of hell and speak my name and I'll be there you can walk into any doctor's office and plead the blood of Jesus and he'll show up there you can go into your home you can go into your school under your job and you take Jesus with you and mercy shows itself why because Jesus is the one that gives Mercy learn the only way to understand Mercy is to experience Mercy Jesus told the people that day sick Folk need a doctor they don't need to be left out in the cold they need somebody that can help them brother Jerome would you come please I dare say everybody in this room today you've got problems and issues that you're dealing with you got stuff that you wish that you had control over but you know beyond the shadow of a doubt the hand of the Lord has brought you to this place what you are identifying and testifying about right now is the mercy of the Lord Jesus for those of you who sit here under the sound of my voice right now and you've already turned me off and you've already decided you've heard enough and you wish you could get out of this place and go find a place to eat so you feel better I've come to tell you Mercy still applies to you and I rebuke the enemy and the distraction that's trying to pull you back into the pits of hell you do not need more of this world you need more of Jesus you didn't listen to Pastor you do not need a better job bigger job bigger bank account bigger house you need Jesus in the only because I only read the only way to get Jesus is to let his Mercy work in your life reality sets in and it's this you have no right whatsoever to walk up to the king of kings and demand anything but if he you allow his Mercy to work in your life you can humbly bow yourself before him in a position of worship and you can declare I know that I'm a nobody from nowhere with nothing to offer but if you will let Mercy touch my life then I know that I can be forgiven I know that I can be made whole I know that I can be complete I know that I can be forgiven in my sins and I can become a new creature why because the commonality of all of us is this we once were lost in sin but Mercy took over our lives learn this you better learn this you're not going to get it out of any book The World offers you but get in the word of God and decide I will know him when he breathes in I'll be there when he exhales I'll be there in the Midnight Hour I'll Trust he's there in the middle of the day I'll believe he's there why because Jesus is Mercy to you and I stand with me please it's 120 for us clock Watchers am I scratching around digging around trying to understand these verses y'all you've been at CAC anytime you know that I enjoy going to history and figuring out things and I don't understand a lot of things I don't wish I did but I want to share with you what the Jewish Bible says of this translation this is in Matthew and what it says in lieu of I will have mercy and not sacrifice this is what it says I want compassion rather than animal sacrifices Pharisees had every right to understand the Old Law somebody said amen they did that was their job they made sure that it was followed they read it they studied it they memorized it they sat at the feet of teachers and they they got a good understanding of it and according to the Old Law you had to bring an animal and it had to be spot it had to be without blemish and spotless and you had to bring that sacrifice Whenever there was transgression in your life come on it wasn't once a year only but it was any time that you transgressed listen to me if you touched a dead body you had to go listen ladies you'd have to go every month when you gave birth to a child if you had blood that was shed come on heaven forbid you'd have a sore come up on your skin come on this was that sacrifice and you'd have to purr the law follow through with it if you did not then you would literally excommunicated from the group because they didn't want you in their family because their family had all things common I was called the law you didn't follow the law at a place for you come on gentiles come on Samaritans for the Jewish translation this intrigued me so much I want compassion I want you to understand something that when I reach for you and when I forgive you and when I wash you I apply Mercy to you and that Mercy is enough to overcome all of your mess and give you life come on if it were an animal sacrifice everybody in this room would probably do whatever it took to go get that animal but after the third fourth fifteenth twentieth fiftieth time what else could you bring huh today I invite somebody to Simply Let Jesus apply Mercy to your life he can cleanse you if you're busted broken and you're all messed up I've come to tell you the mercy Giver is here today and he's able to reach past all of your stuff and he's able to breathe life into you but you better learn this thing that without Jesus you're not going anywhere you're going to have a mess in your life and it's going to continuously be that if you're here right now lift your hand to the Lord if you're at home if you're watching online lift your hand right now to the Lord come on Jesus I need Mercy Jesus I need Mercy Jesus I need Mercy come on somebody I need Mercy in my life you are the mercy Giver you are the compassion Lord that I search for you are the answers Lord God to all of my messed up problems and situations gee come on somebody reads to him right now hands lifted High come on if you're at home wherever you are lift it to the Lord I need you Mercy in my life I've learned dear God that without you I am nothing and all dear God that I need comes from you this altars open for somebody wanting Mercy this altar is open for somebody that's hungry for the ways of God to be expressed into your life come on somebody you need Mercy you need for the Lord God to unfold his miraculous things in your life come on he came for you he didn't come for those that are well he didn't come for those that don't need a physician he came for those that are hurting and broken and and all messed up come on prayer warriors where are you at would you come help us in an altar today come on there's people hungry for the things of God there's people hungry for the hand of God in their life come on prayer warriors where you at me and women come help me pray young folk come help me pray the name of Jesus Come On In The Name of Jesus oh that's right come on you need Mercy in your life today learn that know that oh that's right come on Mercy come on Mercy Mercy is what you need hey yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah that's right come on I mean Mercy Lord Jesus I've got to have you Jesus I am nothing without you oh come on that's right are you hungry for him are you thirsty for him come on those that are whole don't need a physician you and I who are broken and busted we need him come on pray Church get a hold of somebody and pray with them come on grab your neighbor's hand throw it to Heaven pray with them God have mercy on us today Jesus oh come on that's right oh come on that's right run into his presence oh come on that's right the holy ghost is real young people God anoint these children today anoint these young folks today God raised him up Lord to understand Mercy oh come on that's right yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah oh come on believe for it believe for it Jesus you are the answer Jesus you've got the power come on that's right let him work in your life today yeah yeah yeah come on me and pray come on me and pray come on ladies pray believe God for it the name of Jesus the name of Jesus great is your name great is your name oh come on that's right come on let Faith grow right now Lord I am trusting your plan I am trusting your plan Jesus I need you Jesus I Need You Jesus that's right come on pray come on there is breakthrough there is breakthrough in the spirit come on pray there is breakthrough in the Holy Ghost come on pray there is breakthrough in the Holy Ghost come on salvation comes in that name come on Matthew run into his presence man let him do it for you today in the name of Jesus there is healing in this place family there is Deliverance in this place family oh come on things common we believe together that Jesus is the answer oh that's right oh that's right come on believe with him the name of Jesus come on find you somebody and pray with her right now come on go find your somebody and pray with us come on let the prayer the Saints work one with another there is power in the name of Jesus that's right come on Reach Out pray with somebody God of Glory work in my friend's life Lord we're part of the family work today God I pray there is forgiveness Lord there is cleansing today oh come on that's right Jesus sweet Jesus that's right come on reach out for somebody close to you oh God anoint my brother today and my sister Lord let him walk to your God in the spirit let them understand that it is your name Lord that makes the that it's your name that makes it it is your name Jesus those that are well don't need a physician but us that are sick we need him yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah come on learn it's you Jesus come on it's you Jesus it's you Jesus you've got the answer Lord yes you do Jesus thank you Lord I love you Lord Jesus Hallelujah trials of life come on pray pray for him lift him up right now Lord we bind together as the family we have things coming Lord Jesus Mercy is applied to our lives come on learn that Mercy makes the difference Jesus I need you Jesus Jesus I so need you Jesus come on you are complete in him you are complete in him learn about his Mercy learn Pharisees you need to learn this Mercy works and the reason I'm in this house with these Sinners and publicans right now is they need Mercy Pharisee you haven't recognized that yet that you need it but you will soon see you will soon find out you may know the end of the story Sanhedrin met and they found somebody and they laid down the gauntlet Jesus went through all that he whoo was a message for another day all that he went through died on a cross pulled him off put him in a tomb put a rock over it wrapped him up done Pharisees are so excited they start a Witch Hunt going to find the rest of them but on third day come on on that third day Mercy came to life and began to show itself come on come on somebody you know that's the only answer in this troubled messed up world is Jesus Christ every hand lifted right now before you go home
