anybody know what the Daily Grind is besides a good cup of coffee you may understand the Daily Grind that you face daily the searching the wanting the trying the working the whatever the hoping for a better lifestyle a better job maybe a more excellent way of living not a whole lot of us in this room nor those watching online not a bunch of folk that I know really really want to live on the bottom there's not a lot that want to just simply feed off the worst that life has the to offer but instead we all want to find peace and love we all want to belong we all want to find a place where we are accepted it's what we crave as humans agreed life we have discovered that it has a way of throwing rocks at us situations and stuff that happen there's trials there's disappointments things that upset us challenges that we face and every day in ourselves we Face the situation where we learn that as humans there are tests that we go through has anybody ever been tested isn't that fun I don't know about you but a lot of life's tests have no study book nor manual to look at you just simply go through it huh you ever faced a mountain in your life and didn't know what in the world was going to happen with that mountain anybody or that just me you ever looked fear in the eye and didn't really know how to overcome it or what you were even looking for to overcome the fear has there ever been a day that you wished would end sooner than you know it's going to take ever been in a place of pure joy and perfect peace come on there are two sides right I believe that the details of Life the details of living they are important follow me for a moment what you see how you see it how you interpret what's going on in your life how you know that things are happening listen friend if you didn't feel things in your life then there would be a a question if you're alive or not agreed come on what you do with your life how you handle it where you walk the road that you take all of those are very important things that happen in our daily lives why because we are developed through daily living hard times do come I didn't say you had to like them but hard times do come agreed choices are made in the midst of those hard times we have to face though listen to We have to face the rewards of the decisions that we make how many you know that not all rewards are good some want to call it consequences or fine we'll use that word there are things that happen by the choices you make listen there are hard facts I want to help somebody today if you would allow me just a moment the book of Hebrews the writer wrote 9 and 27 it is and as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the Judgment can okay as it is appointed for men to die once but after this the judgment and many are thankful to die but the fact is there is an appointed time for all of us everybody say it with me we all have an appointment and we don't want to talk about that time we want to consider it why because we love life and we love to live but the fact is the more that we want to live life to the fullest the more then we have to recognize and realize that there are things there are situations there are circumstances that we face in our daily lives in which we have to understand the appointment day will come this is not a funeral today this is not negative I'm simply telling you that if we understand through the word of God that it is there is an appointment to die that means that there's an appointment to Live come on it is decisions that are made and choices that we look into to understand that death will come to all of us agreed that's right one way or another but I've come to tell somebody I'm not being morbid I'm not being dark I'm not I'm just facing the simple fact that when you read the letter in this particular portion something is going to happen after death there is Judgment if there is Judgment listen to the preacher today then there's going to be something that you will be judged for the moment you stand in front of the judge the moment that you receive the sentence of Eternity and whatever that looks like it will give you the indication that judgment has come but everything that you will be judged for it will be up to you how it is dealt with there must be something in your life that Embraces this verse of scripture that says it's an appointment date one day I will die and there will be a judgment therefore God I'm going to make sure that at my death sentence and whatever happens at that appointment that judgment looks at me and says you did good you made right choices you've messed up you fell on your face you got back up though you moved forward you you did it again and again issues came in your life but somehow you still made it in the presence and somehow you still came to the house of God hear what I'm saying today there's an appointment to die but then judgment with that said you got to make a choice today is my judgment going to be that you didn't worship me you didn't love me you didn't praise me is my judgment going to be I never knew you is my judgment going to be I don't have your name here or is there somebody under my voice right now that has declared hell or high water Heaven's going to be my game no matter what circumstance comes my way I'm going to walk on streets of gold I'm going to hear him say Well done I'm going to see my my grandparents that have died and gone on I'm looking for the day to see my dad one more time why because I believe uh that judgment comes everybody but I can choose today to love for the live for the Lord God and on that day judgment will say you did good you did right faithful child you don't have to be caught off guard no you you the choices you make today they will have benefits they will have consequences but therefore you have to choose correctly many times it can be seen that well-meaning people that they get upset y'all going to hear the preacher a minute I'm not meddling I'm pastoring just a moment there's well-meaning people that get all upset with the church and the church family and what they see is they see that people are not perfect much like they are not perfect but then they take on the Judgment action and they begin to judge others of who they think God ought to be in them and because God ain't that in them then all of a sudden they can be a better judge to say then evidently they don't love God and they don't they don't serve God and they're just Hypocrites come on brother Tim and I stood yesterday out here and we talked about how that for some odd reason he and I are still in church loving and living for God and all the 20 or 30 others that were in the youth group we grew up with where are they many of them said y'all a bunch of Hypocrites y'all are this you say that you do that but it don't match and in our hearts and in our minds he and I both declared you know what somehow some way you just got to make up in your mind I'm GNA live for God I'm gonna love God I don't care what others say I don't care if I'm disappointed I don't care what they do I don't care what I do what I know is this it is an appointment for me to die one day but judgment's coming therefore I am focused on judgment I am focused on what he says y'all stay with me because you can't control what others say or do then you will justify your disgruntled attitude and you will make statements like well if Pastor really loved me he would preach better if pastor's wife was really a Christian she would do this or she'd act that way well if this and they really wanted me to know how much that that I can apply and I can give to the church they let me sing or they let me do this or that fact of the matter is judgment's already come to your house and you've decided within yourself that you can live life without God am I'm going help somebody today but the honest goodness truth is you're going to die one day and then judgment's coming I've come to ask somebody are you willing to do what it takes right now to get into the Sweet By and By come on there's a great getting up morning coming one day and you're gonna have to say hey I hear the trumpet sound it don't scare me it don't rattle me I'm gone uh you can have this building you can have the car you can have the job you can have the dog you can have the dog that's got a house to live in on I don't care as for me I'm going and I'm looking for judgment well done well done yeah and now y'all hear I I said this earlier and I didn't mean to I'm trying my best to understand but I've come to realize in my older age and my wife mentioned in my gray hair I've come to realize that only God is omnipotent and Only God is omnipresent and Only God is omniscient the fact remains that you are not you don't know everything contrary to what your ability has tried to demonstrate to you you do not have all the answers and I come to help somebody today you don't even have your act together yet but it is because of the blood of Jesus Brother Don that you can stand up and say God is still faithful he still loves me he's still on my side I still believe in The Old Rugged Cross I still believe in the power of a risen savior I don't care what anybody else says I've made up in my mind Heaven is still in view again I return I I go right back to this mention here in the book of Hebrews there is an appointed time and then there is judgment so what you do with the time between those how you live your life is of utmost importance there's a lot of things in life that are worth living for sunrises and sun sets a grandbaby well since y'all ask can you put those Pat I'm joking memories that have withstood the pressures of time I have learned that one bad moment of Life cannot have enough power to re revoke a lifetime of blessings I have learned that there is more to be thankful for than enough to be hateful for I have learned in my life that life is short I've seen I've seen much that surprises me and I've seen so much that disappoints me I know there are multiple sides to every story and I have seen perfection in a baby's smile I have witnessed The Sting of death on the face that had no hope I am not the eldest in this room but I have learned a few things in my life want want to help somebody today letters and read in the Book of Matthew chapter number 11: 28 simply says this come unto me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart you shall find rest unto your soul souls for my yoke is easy my burden is light Jesus is talking here he's giv instructions and he's he's trying to get his followers to understand the real reason that they should follow after him this is how listen notice how he he starts this come unto me if you are weighted down with life's choices as result of bad decisions made then you have a path and it is to him if your life has been full of disappointments discouragement and disgruntled attitudes there is still a path and it is to him go to him all of you who who work hard all of you that are overwhelmed with life all of you that are trying your best I come to tell you today there is a way and that is to him come unto him come unto me he says in this come and let yourself be present in front of me I am sure that everybody in this house has gone through a challenge a trial a disappointment that you could not come understand or even give reference to but I've come to tell somebody in my life I have also recognized one true fact many times I simply need rest I need peace of mind I need a pause from the activity I need for the motion to stop for a moment many of us simply need to pause and to rest that is the definition for resting is to take a pause from activity and let the motion stop in your life you have discovered that there are so many challenges and there are so many unfulfilled dreams and in that moment you are faced with stress and overworked attitudes what you need is you need a moment of rest in the presence of God therefore the scripture reveals to us in chapter number 11 did you hear it come unto me all you that labor in are heavy laden and I will give you rest look at your neighbor and say you need to rest come on tell somebody close to you need to rest he didn't say take a nap he said rest he didn't say lay down kick your shoes off and go to sleep no he said you need to rest you need to rest but notice the phrase following rest take my my yoke upon you wait a minute that's a contradiction if I've ever heard one how can a person rest when they've got a yoke around their neck wait a minute a yoke has so many negative connotations a yoke is something that has so many negative aspiration it ties you down it wraps you up it stops your ability to move and to have freedom it harnesses you into something and therefore you feel restricted and you don't know what else to do and how else to accomplish something the fact and the purpose of a harness listen to me is so often misunderstood because in our 2 and 23 environment in our culture today a yoke is used even today it is used to harness power but what we want to consider it is this oh the church is trying to stop me from from being who I really need to be or listen I I got this talent and they're not letting me use it like I really want to be able to use it or they're telling me that I need to listen and submit and I need to be subject to somebody else and and I they don't understand that I I just need freedom and liberty and in the process of that you are becoming more and more bound up why because if you are left to your own devices you don't know whether to turn left or right you don't know whether to back off or go forward you don't know how to move on your own you're not smart enough for that if you were and if you knew all of that every one of y'all have a talk show and talk about the endless amount of money you got but I can tell by looking at the books of our church there ain't a billionaire sitting in this house if I can tell you right now it's all fair it's all right it's all right here I can see some of y'all give a dollar I know that you're following God's plan therefore God bless the $9 they're left with am I meddling you better believe it cuz some of us are in the situation we're in cuz we have pushed God out of our finances we have pushed God away from the anointing in our life because we have wrapped him up and we've decided we're better at putting our money to work than he is I come to tell you and I'll make it loud and clear you will not outg give God if you wonder why you're struggling financially I'll tell you why you need to give more to God Pastor you don't understand yes I do uh it is the theory of the word of God but I don't have it to give you don't have it not to give if you're going to be blessed you better bless if you're going to do what God Said you you better subject yourself to what God Said oh Pastor you okay don't let me get sidetracked today a yoke in today's society when's the last time y'all worked a yoke uh not an egg Yol come on I worked at a morning I did good I'm Logan come on I did a little homework call account I'm not a farmer person I've known Farmers I've known some that work with a tiller and I was even forced behind one of those occasionally in my growing up day huh but I found out something listen you can take a yoke and you can place that Yol it's it's a way to harness an animal a draft animal they're called it would be an ox a horse a cow a mule a donkey depends on what your work is and according to history some some reading I did according to what they claim is you can take a single Ox the animal that can pull and you can harness the strength of that animal with a Yol that goes around its neck and what you do once you have tied to it the range or the the leather straps or the steering mechanism if you put that animal to its weight it can pull about twice its body weight so if you have a 1,000 lb Ox it can typically pull 2,000 LB One Ox one large animal they can do the work that many men cannot do they can work from sunrise to sunset they simply want to know at the end of it all can I eat I like us huh I call some of Y hey can you help me with a project we gonna eat yeah come on I'm I'm in we going to eat no we don't have time man you know I'm busy come on but when you take an ox a draft animal and you take another ox and you put it next to the draft animal listen to me they both know they are draft animals one's not going to look at the other and say hm I bet you ain't even got thumbs do you they're not going to do it y'all know Ox don't have thumb okay when you when you take one ox and you put one next to it and you say plow they're going to look at one another and say hm they need somebody to get them moving something to get them processing in the forward motion so this is what the farmers and the workers of all this is how this nation was established is they would take two of them put them together and they would put a log across them it was called a yoke and they would tie it up under their neck and it would rest upon their shoulders and then the owner of the one driving would stand at the back and go come on practice it come on I I hear this all the time when I'm we you come on now get up come on and if you get both of those ox and move and listen to me what you're going to discover very very quickly according to history is you're going to discover that one of those Ox are going to look at the other and going to decide who is is driving this yoke because if this one moves on this side and this one stands still it doesn't harm one of them one of them doesn't feel the pressure one of them doesn't feel the tension of the Yoke but both of them do and if this one steps forward y got to hear me that when this one steps forward that Yol begins to move the pressure on this shoulder is opposed on the shoulder of this ox and he said hold on a minute if you're going to move I don't like what I'm feeling and the one that's just stepped out says I don't like what I'm feeling know what you need to do you need to move forward and once they recognize and realize listen to this one of those oxs will be the pace Setter will be the dominant one one of those oxs will say we're about to set a pace here and they begin to move forward and they're plowing a field they're taking down trees they're doing whatever they do that the ox are required to do y'all listen to Pastor a minute what is indicated here y'all that might not know this anybody know where the word the the measurement of Acres came from oh I make up anything y'all wouldn't no this's what I found out an acre the dimension of an acre was first established by how many a set of oxen how many how much land it could plow in the longest day of the year so whatever they could plow that was considered an acre that's a lot ain't it depending on on The Oxen here's the thing Jesus oh Lord Jesus says come to me you weary you heavy laden I'll give you rest so you come all of a sudden saying God I need rest I'm weary I'm tired I've been beat up I've been all all this going on in me what am I going to do and he says I need you to take my yoke upon you oh hang on a minute you're asking me to be tied down to something no what I'm telling you is simply this if you're going to accomplish anything in your life you're going to need somebody that'll be the paysetter you're going to need something that'll connect with you and begin to step out and when I step out if you begin to move you'll recognize that I can keep you from going off the path I can keep you from going down a place you don't need to be uh Hey somebody hear the preacher right now there's some places you're going you don't need to be going and the only way you can make a decision hear me now is when the ox that's next to you call Jesus and you try to carry him into a place and it bangs against the door and you can't get in there you need to decide I don't deserve I don't need to be I don't want to have nothing to do with this place you know what he's doing he's protecting you he's keeping you uh come on you don't believe that the same scenario Jesus knew is this take up your cross daily and follow me you know what he was saying if you got a cross on your back and there's places you don't need to be you get to the doorway of that place that cross is going to hit the top and you're going to back up you got a choice to make I either lay down the cross and go by myself or I turn around and say I'm not going in this place y'all listen to me you want to know about the decision you're trying to make in your life you need somebody on a yoke that'll say to you uh get off of the path that will destroy you uh I'm trying to get you to heaven you double the Yoke it changes everything you double the Yoke everything is altered what we learn is this okay in 2023 we learn submission to God when you connect those two animals you increase the work capacity and more is accomplished so Jesus says I want you to take my yoke on you y'all realize what that says listen to me as messed up as you are as busted as you are as broken as you are as hurt as you appear all the junk you've been willing to drag around in your situation Jesus is saying I'm willing to yoke up with you he is saying I am not afraid of your failures your faults and your mess up but what I will ask you to do is tie yourself to me and if you'll take my yoke upon you listen to me and you're going to understand something my yoke is easy my yoke is easy here it here listen to me there's something in this that I want to help us to understand today he says come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest listen take my yoke upon you and learn of me take my yoke upon you and learn of me just a few moments ago by the graciousness of brother Daron these singers and musicians and by The Obedience of my daughter I said I would like for my mother to sing today in service I said' Lauren would you go over there and let her sing Alto you sing soprano I'll mess it all up Mom didn't know that was going to happen she used to sing in the choir she used to lead singing remember that Tim heard my dad my dad at you ready for it that's how my mom would come off the stage am I right ttim let B go up that's what that's what she was known for some of y'all laughing cuz you remember you know what I've learned some of y'all don't have any of that I could mention some oldtimers that y'all might know their names but GA Mangan there ain't no way you could deny that one oldtimers hey hey hey hey for the JT Pew just come after you so that Jesus says take my yoke and learn what does that really mean Brother Sam to learn to learn see I don't know about you but there's a lot of times that I have learned in my life that I don't know so much and I'm willing to grasp a hold of something that I don't know about and all that I mentioned a few moments ago the hurts the issues the Hang-Ups the problems the stuff that people can all the things that you and I challenge oursel with so many times I've come to tell you it's because we are trying to drive the Yoke ourselves and we are determined to make choices and decisions based upon what we feel for the emotion of that moment and in that instance Jesus if we have really connected our ourself to we have a choice to make I can promise you that Jesus does not want your life messed up and destroyed and full of sorrow and sickness and all that I can promise you there is healing by his stripes we are that is right now and are you saying pastor that that I should never be sick no I'm saying that if I'm sick Jesus is connected to me cuz he's right there in that yoke with me what I find is as I'm walking with Jesus every day it's getting sweeter and sweeter why because I'm learning to lean on him instead of drag him in another Direction some of us are full of heartache and trials and tests because we want to stay connected to Jesus but we're pulling the whole time and we're saying but we're determined to do it this way and Jesus is saying if you'll do it this way I'm telling you it's going to turn out okay but it doesn't look right I don't feel right my my attitude I I may not feel This Joy I don't feel like I'm happy I don't feel like I'm Victorious and Jesus is saying I never said you would feel this what I did say is this I'll never leave you nor forsake you and the challenges of your life you better learn friend Jesus is saying H every step you take I will order that step if you're a righteous man I will establish that step listen and therefore when you step out trusting God there is an unction and an anointing that says if God is for me then who can be against me uh I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death but I will not fear evil why because you're with me your rod and your staff are comforting me uh I don't take offense to it Lord God when you're telling me you ought not talk that way you ought not work that way you shouldn't do it that way you better make a better choice why because I got to trust that if God is yoke with me uh that I I can make it into Heaven's Gates of gold come to help somebody today some of us need to learn we need to learn learn of me he's given a great directive for I'm meek and lowly in heart shall found rest under your soul my yoke is easy my burden is light Brother Don would you come help me please the problem arise is when we want to become the dominant lead and we don't want to let Jesus have it we're pushing and prodding and there's chaffing and there's all this stuff that his yoke begins to work with us listen carefully please the scripture is very very exact and precise when he declares I will not always strive with man you have to make a decision the beauty of Heaven listen to me the beauty of heaven will not simply be heaven but it will be the disgust of hell that he kept you from and if you'll understand the value of Heaven is bigger than just Heaven I don't know about you but I really don't do pain well this morning I was very kind to fix breakfast for my wife and my mom and there eggs and sausage and bagel or uh muffins and sliced tomato did it right I put there my mom said you didn't have to do that well I already did it brother Don I was taking the egg off the stove and I burned my finger I'm looking at my finger going the world is oh I hope I don't go to hell CU I would be terrible I'd be such a whiner it's hot why is it so hot I burn my finger I it would not work at all making light of that you listen to this preacher today you got one or two places the choice is yours I don't know if you know this about Jesus but he knew who we are he knew what we were like because of that he gave us every indication through his word of what it will take to make Heaven your home because he's a fair God and a just God he also gave us every indication and everything we must do to make tell our eternity no surprises situation today if I may as I close this up you need to learn him you need to learn him it was mentioned a moment ago and I was sorry Mom again I'll embarrass you cuz I'm good at it that lady sitting there and all the things that God has allowed her to experience in her life nearly 40 years without my dad she stayed true I learn I learn Mom how you feeling today arthritis is killing me hurting my back my legs but enough about me how are you can't tell you the many times brother Daryl that I'd get her on the phone I try to call her once a week I don't forget and be a bad son we start talking and if a challenge or something comes up y'all ready for this she's sitting I'm on she it's okay I can't tell you how many times that I talked to to her that she's not speaking in tongues I refuse to accept that she'll say and she'll start speaking in tongu I just what I do I'm not ignoring her I'm making sure God hears it from where I'm sitting how's it going today Mom she say well Devil's On The Run how do you know cuz I'm hurting what's that got to do with anything cuz I done told him devil get out of my way I'm going to get up I'm going to breathe as long as I can I'm going let I'm just learn what I've learned that's what I've learned I've learned by watching some of you you go through some of the greatest challenges and trials but yet you still come to the house of the Lord and for some reason there's still a smile on your face why you have learned that in whatsoever position condition or place I am he's worthy of praise and honor and Glory there therefore I learn because I watch you listen to me I watch the praise that comes out of your mouth and how that you just say God I love you and I adore you and I magnify you in the midst of all that I'm going through I learn because I'm watching and I'm listening listen to me and as Pastor I have to concern myself then with those that aren't learning because they're belly aching and complaining and they're all upset and angry because of that and this and that I'm going can't you learn something in the middle of every problem and every situation the God of all of creation is worthy to be glorified and magnified I come to tell somebody today you better learn to yoke yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ and to decide you're number one I'm not where you lead me I will follow uh I have decided to follow you uh my life is better because of you uh everything that I have comes from you uh what I don't have it's from you uh what I want it's from you uh where I am it's from you uh my past my present my my future it's all about you why because his yoke is easy his burden is light I don't have to wrestle with myself I don't have to wrestle with you but I can get up in the midst of the devil's face and I can say look who's right here now devil you better back away he's the one that took the keys to your house he's the one that came alive in the grave he's the one that's leading me to a place and a promise that he has established for me you better learn that friend you better learn that friend stand with me you better learn the facts some of these children y'all listen to preacher some of these children are one step away from walking away from God because they haven't seen his glory work in your life Mom and Dad I'm not being mean I'm just telling you your kids are not going to do this unless they see you do do this your kids are not going to do this unless they see you do this oh but I'm not exuberant about yes you are and what you choose to be exuberant in as much as I love y'all and I love being your pastor I don't do this because you might give me a tree and a flower thank you for the tree and the flower but listen to me it is the god of creation that pushes me out of the bed in the morning and I go sit on my swing and I God bless my wife today you know what she's challenged with Lord bless Lauren and Sam God their home their marriage and their Ministry God bless Stephen and Britney and Elsie bless Elsie a whole bunch Lord today I pray Lord for Steven and Britney's marriage and their Ministry and their life I pray today for my mom and I go down the whole list and and then I get to all the fam so come on you you know fames got to be important right I pray all their names I speak them if I if I know them some of them I don't know yet get down to the B I said Lord bless my CAC family today God I pray for the men of our church to be men of principle passion prayer in the men that are powerful I pray for them God whatever and I'm watching faces God I pray for the ladies of our church today let them be ladies that are submitted to your word and your plan so that they can live a Peaceable life listen I pray God bless our teenagers our young people Lord don't let them take the way of the lies of The World God I pray for the babies in our church today God every one of them let them get the Holy Ghost God call them into Ministry God call them into the plan that you have for them I plead your blood over where we are I plead your blood over where we've been and I plead your blood over where we're headed I pray God for favor with our city it's okay I'll just repeating a prayer I pray daily I pray for favor with the inspectors I pray for favor with those that have decision to make I pray for favor with our neighbors uh I pray God that our city will come to the place that our city of Chattanooga will say we're all going to fall apart and die who do we call God let him reach out and say we need an Apostolic we need somebody that will come in prayer and believe that God can move come on anybody indicate today you realize that leadership in our world is directed by the hand of God I wish somebody right now get out of your chair and you'll get a hold of a man go get a hold of a man right now ladies going to get a hold of a lady right now don't reach over to one next to you be brave be brave step out of your seat come on we're going to pray one for another go right now please go right now please go come on Hallelujah hang on Don't Pray yet don't pray I need to tell you what to pray for come on get a hold of somebody we could all have somebody close to us right now and when you pray this prayer I want you to pray as you want them to pray so if you pray this little week prayer fine that's how they're going to pray but if you really believe God can give them Revival in their homes God can give them Revival in their finances God can give them Revival in their jobs come on I want you to pray for that I want you to call their name out to the Lord God and I want you to bind together with them come on some of y'all need to rebuke the enemy that's got blinders over their eyes right now and let them see the salvation of the Lord would you pray right now God bless them God anoint them God raise them up oh God encourage them in the Holy Ghost let them find favor God let the anointing of the Lord break the Yoke that would have them bound come on pray Somebody Pray like your prayer will make all the difference in the world oh come on somebody if you've got the Holy Ghost you pray through right now come on speak in tongues right now pray through in the Holy Ghost come on pray for it in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus oh come on that's righty call in the name of the Lord great God we want to learn of you we want to learn of you we want to learn what makes you happy we want to learn what Thrills you we want to learn Lord God how to submit to you oh come on that's right pray we want to learn God how to talk to you we want to learn how to grow and mature gracefully in you the name of Jesus come on that's right pray come on pray find somebody else pray with them find someone else pray with them Jesus Jesus come on find somebody else pray with them Jesus come on believe for it come on believe for it Jesus you are the answer you are the answer you are the answer Jesus learn of of me
