Kings ruled, but prophets carried the word
- In the Old Testament, God allowed kings to rule over the land, but every king had to have a word from God — a way to connect with God — through the prophet; the king was safe when God spoke through the prophet.
- They did not always listen, and there was always conflict, because humans were the ones doing it.
The double portion comes with double darkness
- God made a promise to the prophet: you speak and respond, take the word, and then the king has to receive it and act.
- Around Elijah there was great controversy — not in Elijah, but in the people surrounding him.
- The young man who said he had seen and heard what Elijah said and done, and wanted twice that, was asking for a double portion that would come with great conflict — a double darkness that would take somebody standing stronger in that moment; then came Jezebel.
- The first thing Elisha did was strike the water, conscious that the calling was so much bigger than him and that he had a lot to learn.
Do not take his presence for granted
- God can be felt on the job, in the shower, in the car, walking through a store — and that can be taken so for granted that a person forgets it is by his mercy and grace that he even stands and has his being.
- Gehazi could not even tell the story: the woman had to stop him and say what God had done, because he had been pulled so far away from the miracle God worked.
Live your own testimony
- Do not rely on grandparents' and great-grandparents' testimony; this generation lives in the greatest opportunity right now to see the miracles of God unfold in its own life.
- Whoever has the Holy Ghost is called to lift a hand and say: Lord, I don't want to take it for granted — I want to know that I know that I know.
- Prayer takes hold of the neighbor: Lord, anoint my brother and my sister today, and let them have a boldness in this hour to stand and say, I can tell the testimony of the Lord — I was lost but now I'm found, I was blind but now I see, I was dead but now I live.
- Never let me forget, God, that your grace is enough for me and your mercy is new every day.
Declare the good things of the Lord
- There is victory in the Holy Ghost and in the name of Jesus; the devil is a liar, and the anointing God has placed on a life will not be pushed back, quieted down, or told to stop.
- The resolve is not to be silent but to talk about him — rising up early to talk to him, standing firm on the job and at school, wherever — declaring the good things of the Lord: if he healed me once, he can heal me again.
- The close rests in trust: I will trust in the Lord — not simply believing, but trusting that he is doing what he does; I want to trust him in all things.

thank you brother Sam thank you the interesting thing about whenever you start talking researching preaching studying prophets of old we are very strange to that in our generation because after the Holy Ghost was poured out instead of just a moving on it was an an inside thing right but you we can't forget when we go when somebody brings history up and Old Testament God allowed the Kings to rule over the land but every King had to have a word from God they had to have a way to connect with God that way the King was safe to say but God through the prophet said this now they they didn't always listen and there was always conflict things because you got humans humans doing that this story is no different the interesting thing he's mentioned straight out of the boxes that God made a a promise to the prophet you speak you respond take the word then the King has to receive it act
the beauty of this story is there was such great great controversy with Elijah not in Elijah but the people surrounding him and then this young man comes along and says I've seen and heard what you've said and done and what I want is twice that do you realize what you're asking for because the double portion is going to come with such great conflict but to be a double portion there's got to be a double Darkness because it's going to take somebody to stand stronger in that moment enter Jezebel then Elisha the very first thing that's so complex to me Brother Sam is the first thing he does is strike the water and in his mind he's like this is so much bigger than me this is so much bigger than me I have a lot to learn
I fear Brother Sam sometimes in our culture today because you can feel the Pres how many's ever felt God on your job you ever feel him in the shower you ever feel him in your car you ever feel him walking through a store you can take that so for granted that you forget that it is by his mercy and Grace that you even stand and have your being thank you brother Sam
so tell me what's going on Gan he come there this woman this right is know what you read gazi couldn't even tell the story the woman had to say hold on this is what happened because haes had been so pulled away from the fact that God worked a miracle that the lady had to stop his voice to say what God has done
listen to this do not rely on grandparents and great grandparents testimony you live in the greatest opportunity right now to see the miracles of god unfold in your life if you've got the Holy Ghost and you have spoken in tongues as the Spirit came right now you ought to lift your hand and say Lord I don't want to take it for granted but Lord I want to know that I know that I know come on somebody somebody needs to get a hold of the fact that Jesus loves you and he can work in your life if you'll get out of the way and let God be God
come on grab a hold of your neighbor Lord anoint my brother today and my sister let them God have a boldness in this hour Lord to stand and say I can tell the testimony of the Lord I was lost but now I'm found I was blind but now I see I was dead but now I live come on somebody never let me forget that God your grace is enough for me your mercy is new every day
oh come on that's right come on there's Victory come on jump on come on hold on to the victory of the Holy Ghost the devil is a liar the devil is a liar come on there is victory in the name of Jesus I will not be pushed back quieted down uh told to stop though I still believe in the power of a risen savior there is an anointing that he's put on my life there is an anointing that he's placed on my life I will not be silent I will talk about him I'll rise up early and talk to him I'll stay up till he tells me not to I'll Stand Firm forward on my job wherever I go in my school I'm going to talk of the goodness of the Lord God oh come on somebody you need some Holy Ghost boldness right now to declare the good things of the Lord come on declare the good things of the Lord if he healed me once he can heal me again if you you put me on the right way he can do it again that's right he can do it again hallelujah hallelujah I will trust in the Lord I will trust in the Lord I will trust in the Lord anybody believe Jesus can do anything don't forget that word is not simply believing but anybody here trust that he's doing what he does I want to trust him in all things
