son to go to meeting right y'all look so nice if you're over the age of 25 here today would you raise your hand come on everybody over the age of 25 raise your hand keep it up for us older folk look around you come on all you guys with your hands up look around look at the youthfulness in this room huh look at all the young folk looking at the old folk going yeah we know yeah okay I'll put your hands down you're embarrassing that's right young folk just so you know old folk just so you don't forget we all have our stories to tell we all have our lives that we have lived things that we are proud of and moments that we wish were not in our past does anybody understand but they're a part of your life they're part of who who you are and how you've developed um living we do so with the price do you agree there's a cost involved with just simply living just getting out of bed in the morning how many you know what that's challenge entails sometimes uh some of you find that same Horror Story unfold when you're just trying to go to bed at night come on it it just yeah it's just different right but it's all part of life I'm I'm certain that we took time we could consider our past movements and the places that we've been and the things that worked out and the things that really didn't work out so well in our lives how many have ever been successful at something how many have failed at something else truth of the matter is is that we are all part of the world in which we live listen carefully and we all have a testimony of what it took for us to get here is that all right some of us of course of course are closer to one than than the other and some are further from the other end than the other but all of it points us the direction of what God has given us everybody will point to yourself and say I am alive because of him because he gives me life now back to the over 25s in the room have you ever done anything right in your life that somebody else would say was right the clock of Father time has been very kind to you or maybe you have had troubles and struggles in your life mess-ups even you consider yourself to be a good person but I think that we would all agree that if possible there's nothing in our lives that we could change but if possible we may consider altering some things that maybe we've been through now I will tell you in my life I have no regrets it has made me who I am all the roads and the paths that I've walked I'm here if I took another one I've often thought what would have ended up in my life but if I you know if my wife hadn't found me she would have been so lost uh that's right she knows come on a little louder there you go thank you thank you it's how life works it's how God puts us on a path you make adjustments as you learn you make things that change and indeed you you want for things to be easier as you get older because you always want to be learning you're always looking to grow wiser I don't know about you older folk over 25 but the gray hair really means something you know I used to work really really hard at things and now I look at things really really hard and then I work and everybody identify there are there are some things you know brother Tim and I Tim I'm older than him and he he lets me know that just looking at a project now takes a Different Light doesn't it used to man I would grab a telephone pole thought nothing of it and now I can't even spell telephone pole and I simply look at them follow me stay with me stay with me bottom line we're living life and we're doing the best that we can that okay some live and they try to do it all all on their own and then others seek for help the truth is friend I have discovered in my life and in living that there is one true help that never fails and his name is Jesus make no mistake what we do with our failures and our faults how we move forward from that point matter but if you'll get Jesus in your life in the midst of all of your errors and your disappointments Jesus can make the future brighter you know what it takes a mess of things sometimes to turn into a possibility but once you learn the error of your way you can do with with that and you can learn from it maturing in what you have faced in your life causes you to grow and to exercise your ability to show someone around you your ability to learn and grow through those mistakes and those errors now allow me if you will just a moment to be a pastor okay God has a design and a plan for your life and we can do programs and we can do processes at our church we can we can connect ourselves to things that are bigger than us but the fact remains God has a plan for your life and if you are here today and you discovered through your past that with all the false failures mistakes mess-ups and what it Hang-Ups whatever you've got that for some reason you are still able to come to the house of the Lord listen to me you're still able to lift your hands as feeble as they may seem you're still able to call on the name of the Lord and him move you need to understand some God's design is working in your life who in here in this room right now can honestly say that you are perfect without flaws always done everything right though none of us can but let me tell you friend what I can say is that through all of the steps and all of the paths in my life God has always been God he didn't stop being God because I messed up he didn't cease being on the throne because of my faults and sins and failures he didn't stop loving me even though I probably may have stopped loving myself

I'm drawn to an age-old story today and it's a cool story some of you probably have heard it if you've been in Sunday school any time and it's about a set of twin brothers they're actually just literally born minutes apart the mother she had a rough time delivering these two boys and and they didn't all look look the same the twins in fact one of them his name is means Harry foreign Esau now some of us have a challenge with hair Revival Esau His Name by definition is Harry now he had a brother and his name was Jacob and Jacob's name means sir planter someone who tries to push himself into a place to push people out of the way listen to they were born in a promised family Circumstance the boys had a grandfather by the name of Abraham that's right their dad's name was Isaac we know this story we know that these boys had the blessing of God on their lives but listen to me carefully choices and situations in their lives provided a very powerful place for deception and for bad choices to be made the hairy one Esau he was a good Hunter for an example he was very outdoorsy if that's a southern term he was self-sufficient he knew how to pull from Nature's provision he could survive Jacob on the other hand let's call him mama's boy he stayed close to home he he stayed around the house much but we know from the story in Genesis how that their mother Rebecca she devised a plan to get an appropriate birth order out of Rights out of sorts Isaac was old and he couldn't hardly see and so there was a plan that was put together to deceive the father and go to come on you know the story and a provision of food took it into the dad the dad let the blessing fall all of a sudden Isaac blessed Jacob as firstborn instead of Esau Esau would receive of course only the leftover blessings and the truth is it's from the father's mouth he would serve the younger somebody say to me today family drama is anybody associate with family drama somebody waiting on a microphone to come your way come on testimony gonna break out family drama there's no other way to describe what's going on here listen to me but we're talking about decisions and choices come on we can learn from this particular messed up family that in any family there are possibilities to go up or go down huh come on there are there are opportunities to mess up opportunities to drop the ball there are chances you take there is a roll of the dice if you will life is full of that and every family has their choices to make the divisions that come the problems that come all of those things that come because you simply have a family environment I will tell you this though as messed up as my brothers and sister are I just waved to them because they're might watch this as as messed up as they may have been it wasn't my fault much um I wouldn't take anything from my family now I wouldn't give a million dollars earn dime for another one but I'm thankful for my family come on all the Christmases to go to the birthdays together the broken bones together come on the bike rides that ended in disaster yeah you know the come on y'all know what I'm talking about the fevered Brows the arguments the questions the discouragements the discussions that you had all of that is part of your family drama would somebody identify I got drama come on you know what it's like but listen to this story let me get biblical for just a moment it might help you Genesis 32. verse 11 says this deliver me I pray thee from the hand of my brother from the hand of Esau for I fear Him lest he will come and smite me the mother with the children and thou saidest I will surely do thee good and make thy seed as the sand of the sea which cannot be numbered for multitude and he lodged there that same night it's talking about Jacob and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother

listen to this 200 she goats 20 he goats 200 years 20 Rams 30 milk camels for their Colts 40 kind 10 Bulls 20 she asses tenfolds Jacob was putting together a bounty a gift to give to his brother how many know sometimes your family problems cost you oh y'all want me to get into your business now huh come on how many you know sometimes you need to dig out something and pay a little bit for what you've said or done see we we love the fact that Grace works but none of us want to understand Mercy I'll come to tell somebody that this drama in this family this situation this circumstance going on Jacob is serious about this Esau wants to kill me because of what I did to him and because of the birth order that was put out of place because of the way that my mother helped me to change the blessing listen to me Jacob he was blessed you hear that all the animals all the things that he desired to offer to his brother as a gift he wanted to settle the differences in the life that he had lived the plan was listen that Esau would approached the place where Jacob was and Jacob was so nervous about it read your story he divided his group into two that way if they seize y'all we can live and if he sees y'all they can live and I can just imagine them those guys going out with all this stuff they filed out all these animals and all this stuff's going out across the plain and guess who's standing back here Jacob y'all get get yeah um

now listen to me stay with me stay with me those families those groups go out animals are off sufficient offering they were going to offer to Esau but something happened Genesis 32 22. listen to this Jacob this was he rose up that night took his two wives his two woman servants his 11 sons and passed over the four Jay buck and he took them and sent them over the Brooks sent over that he had verse 24. y'all ready for it Jacob was left alone the Wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day so Jacob according to this story Jacob sends his loved ones across the river he puts them a plan together if he wants to redeem himself for all that has happened and all the hurts and all the family problems he's caused but the Bible says here once the groups had left once he gathered his closest family and sent them across the forward the water that he was now alone listen to me carefully in the Solitude and in the singleness of a moment there's a purpose that can begin to change in your life once Jacob had done what he knew was wrong but yet he knew he could make amends for it if his brother would only receive him hear this it was in the loneliness of Jacob that Solitude was found all of that night the Bible says he wrestled with a man until the breaking of the day the translation of that says there was an Angelic being it could have been God himself that met with him there and he wrestled with this angel with this man he wrestled with him now listen to me carefully Jacob he laid down according to the story at j-bog J bog Listen by its definition simply means a pouring out Jacob laid everything on the table he even put his head down on a rock made it a pillow listen to me he was uncomfortable he was out of sorts he wrestled with this Angelic something he desired in himself I will pour everything out of myself so that I can get to a place where I can live my life in its future I'm tired of the mess I'm tired of the drama I'm exhausted of running I've tried to fix it myself I've tried to make it right on my own but in the midst by the Brook of jabaka in the pouring out place it was there that Jacob got a hold of an Angel and began to wrestle with him when he saw verse 25 says he prevailed not against him he touched the hollow of his thigh the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint he as he wrestled with him verse 26 and he said let me go for the daybreaker he said I will not let thee go except thou bless me he said to him listen to this very carefully what is thy name and he said Jacob Jacob he said thy name shall called and be called No More Jacob but Israel for as a prince thou has power with God and with men and has prevailed Jacob asked him and said tell me I pray thee thy name and he said wherefore is it thou Dost to ask after my name and he blessed him there Jacob listen called the name of that place pineal for I have seen God face to face in my life is preserved at a place of pouring out Jacob called that land the face of God all of Jacob's life was changed at that moment but listen to me carefully please from that moment Jacob walked like an old man he didn't have his youthful luster anymore he didn't hear me he didn't have his arrogance and his pride he didn't have all of his bad ideas and his contentions he didn't have all of that anymore because an angel had come and smote him in his hip and the hollow of a sty was out at that particular point something changed listen Jacob would never walk the same again he would never be the same again Israel was the one who wrestles with God sees god listen to this an entire nation comes from this point of contention God's blessing came Abraham Isaac Jacob is always said in that series is it not but God changed Jacob that night to Israel listen to me carefully friend God is your only salvation he is the only way your life can be changed the reason I bring this story to you today on this Sunday afternoon is for one simple purpose I want you to notice something about Jacob's life Jacob we can go in detail great detail of his life and how he was a supplanter he was one that was always pushing and striving to get to the front of the line always trying to push things aside and make sure that he was first by his definition but you need to listen to this when you get to the end of the book of Genesis the Holy Ghost is moving right now and speaking in somebody's life Genesis chapter 49 the last of it says and when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons he gathered up his feet into the bed yielded up a ghost was gathered unto his people everybody say Jacob died but listen chapter 50. verse number one Joseph fell upon his father's face wept upon Him kissed him and Joseph commanded his servants the Physicians to embalm his father and the Physicians embalmed who oh foreign Jacob died but Israel was preserved there are some of you in this room today your life is a mess and I'm telling you you have tried with all of your heart to fix it to make it right to get it together but there is one key ingredient that you have not allowed to have Clear Vision and Direction and voice in your life and that is the voice of God if you will allow the voice of God to come in and speak you listen to me some of you want to hear the voice of God but you refuse to wrestle with him I'm telling you some of you are do a wrestling match some of you have been bringing problems and trials and drama to this church house for far too long and you've tried to get answers for it and you've tried to let God have it but you haven't wrestled yet you still listen to me you still walk in this building the same way that you walked out of it last time you still coming in here acting like you deserve or not I'm not passing judgment on anybody I'm simply looking at humanity and I am deciding right now that if there is family drama it's because there are some things that have yet to be put under the blood I declare in this house if you're going to have victory in this hour in which you live you better have a wrestling match with the power and the presence of God and you need to allow him to do what he's going to do in your life why because you might die as Jacob the supplanter but there's a promise that's going to live and that's Israel it's the Blessed of God I've come to tell somebody Chattanooga we'll have a church and it's going to have a body that'll rise up in this hour and declare thus says the word of the Lord but if you ever I think for one moment your pride and arrogance and who you think you are pedigree name and all that's going to get you there it's not well this come on some what this world's looking for right now is somebody with a limp somebody who's been with God and lived through it and declare you know what the whole Council of God says this my God is full of grace my God is full of Mercy my God can forgive to the uttermost he can raise me up he can breathe life into my situation my God will deliver me out of the hand of the Fowler my God will pick me up in the face of my opposition why because I believe that if my God is in control when I get to the place of the pouring out I can lay at an altar and I can decide here and now I refuse to walk out of this place the same way I came in

but I need the hand of God to come in and shake me and make me a what I need to be come on somebody it's time for Pride to go out of the way it's time for self-justification to move aside God is coming back to a church ready to receive him I wish you'd pray for yourself right now Jesus help me Lord God to have a right attitude and a right spirit let me God be connected to you help me Lord to get out of the way and to let you be the way in my life brother John would you come stand with me please

the end of the story Jacob dies this is an incredible story for those of you who enjoy bible stories go read Genesis 50. Abraham was buried in a place Sarah was buried there Isaac was buried there and Jacob was taken there because in the place of submission to God listen to me God will have to do a work in you I don't care how good how bad how wonderful you think you are without the hand of God in your life you are not all of that this altar's open right now for somebody who's ready to get ready with God Lord I need you to do something in my life I can't go further God with my arrogance and pride and my self-worth my selflessness lord it's not going to get me closer to you but I so need you now Lord come on some of your parents need to be examples to your children of how God can move in you come on some of you kids need to get real with God and say Lord all of the promises and all the blessings that you promised me I'm going to receive them I'm going to claim them but it's not going to come for who I am it's going to become because of what you make of me come on somebody this altar is open right now you need to bring your heart right now to the Lord and say Lord if you've got a promise for me I I want to receive it God help me to get out of the way pour it out help me Lord to pour out my life help me Lord God to pour out who I am all of my failures and my faults help me God to get honest with them to realize Lord Jesus that without you I am nothing all of my righteousness is ours filthy rags I must have you Jesus I must have you Jesus come on with all your family drama and all your mess come on the altar's the best place to lay it down come on it's the only place where you can get rid of it and let God come in and take control come on he can forgive your sins right now yes he can he can speak new life into your situation right now yes he will he could put you on the straight and narrow and show you their path to say yes he can come on is there anybody hungry for God lift your voice right now lift your voice lift your hand to him Lord I need you Jesus I pour out my life to you God and I ask you Lord change my life oh come on somebody come on it can happen in your life right now yes it can come on in the name of Jesus change us God don't leave us Lord but change us Jesus oh come on let's try prank somebody I so need you Jesus come on hungry hearts yes Jesus Hallelujah Jesus Jesus Jesus oh that's right come on Jesus help me Lord God Jesus I need you Lord forever I meet love you love your love you love your lord now you understand this story right Jacob took everything he had and was willing to send it to Esau to make amends and then he sent his wife and kids over the fort over the river to the other side and they listen he began to intercede for them because of his life I want you to pray one for another right now come on call out each other's name right now in Jesus name come on come on Mom and Dad you start come on young folk come on children you stop come on praying Jesus Jesus God of Glory anointment husband my wife today anoint my children today come on pray oh God whatever Miracles you want to do in them I pray you would do it I rebuked the hand of the enemy that's trying to destroy and discourage them you bring life Jesus you bring life Jesus you bring life Jesus come on somebody let there be an anointing that rushes through your family right now in the name of Jesus that's right come on encourage one another right now there is joy in our home there is power in our home there is Authority and unction in our home come on pray come on pray come on praying Jesus I pray God that our real lord is submitted to yours pray Lord that we would trust in you let the Legacy move forward God let the Heritage God move forward no come on somebody pray intercede right now come on intercede right now where are the intercessors stand in the gap for everybody here today you identified with the family drama the messed up families huh yeah because every day when you live your life and all the stuff and the things that you go through you you try to make sense of it you want to understand it but you listen if you'll continue from chapter 32 they're the life of now Israel and you move forward it's an interesting thing that when even when you go over into the New Testament you will find mentions of Jacob in mentions of Israel there's got to be one reason for that because quite honestly today every one of you may identify with the promise of Israel but tomorrow that old flesh and supplanter attitude may start showing its head and don't be surprised if your spouse look just you say hold on Jacob we will serve the Lord we will love the Lord we're not going to be deceived we're not going to be you know we are going to have a future Jacob may have died but Israel was embalmed that is so incredibly powerful that Israel was preserved that Spirit of God's promise now while you're standing there near your family I want you to pray a blessing over them would you do that come on you know how pray your blessing Lord bless my wife bless her steps Lord honor her today bless my children come on call their name out Lord bless my son my daughter God my grandchildren my great-grandchildren God speak into their lives oh come on that's right come on pray for them God touch them bless them honor them Lord order their steps Lord speak into their lives Jesus be hope to them God let the promise Lord that you shared with me Lord let it bless and continue through them oh come on that's right come on there is power and the blessing come on there's power in the blessing yes come on oh yeah every face towards you and give you peace sing that part again come on the Lord bless you you know this one and keep you shine upon you and be gracious to you the Lord turn his face towards you come on sing it like you know it and give peace amen so children and their children may his favor be upon you and a thousand generations and your family and their children and their chair come on one more and their children may his favor be upon you in a thousand Generations and their family and their children and their children in the morning in the morning in the evening you're coming and you're going oh yes he is for yes he is for you he is for you he is on your side he is over Lord thank you so much for this time today thank you Lord Jesus For Your Glory right now that's shining in this room oh the power of your promises we pour out our lives
