Realignment

if you have a Bible we'll get to that John the Gospel of John again I welcome all of you if you're online watching tonight we welcome you into our service we're so glad that you're here John chapter 14. uh we'll read a few verses here to begin somebody with a good loud voice because you stand and read for me please verses one through seven of John chapter 14. when you have it just stand up and start reading loud and clear please just one not everybody wait a minute gotta be louder than that go there you go all the way to seven yes sir I will come again also and whether I go together verse 5. remind me thank you everybody give brother Sammy hey we're not great I'm still confused the the letters on that screen are two inches tall but you could read that in that little bible but that's so interesting that's that young culture their eyes are better uh very familiar verses of course if you were watching one of the screens you noticed that they were Red Letters which indicates the translators considered it to be words of Jesus um in our search for God's presence and his power every day that we live we are reminded often of our faults and our failures um ways maybe that we've come up short of what we expected of ourselves or what someone else expected of us things that maybe we didn't follow through with had great intentions but maybe it didn't didn't happen problems turn into pressures pressures morph into dangerous choices you make and then you can even get to the point in your walk daily that you can have a challenge of even knowing the difference between right and wrong uh if that being said you act or you react to things and you're off track if you will you're off off kilter when that comes then you've got disappointments discouragements and that leads to further issues and further problems and further things that transpire in your life and sometimes you never really intended for your world to fall apart it's just things happen choices and decisions made sometimes even we have false information and then that information is revealed to our minds and our minds actually begin to believe the lie how many think that the Lord's number one in everything come on identify God's number one then why is it the enemy can so quickly and easily confuse us to think that in certain situations god's second or third and it really to be truthful probably doesn't take much does it now we didn't intend not to believe we didn't intend not to fully grasp the reality that God was with us but the problem is is sometimes we see the problems before we can see God's presence and so with that we begin to wobble just a little bit we come up short now we through these 21 days we have embarked on a journey of getting closer to God we are setting our path to committing more and more better and better to him again if I were to say to you how many want to go to hell no one would jump up and down but if I said how many want to go to heaven we would all say yes why because heaven is a lot better place than hell that's a no-brainer correct but then sometimes we forget about what it's going to take maybe to get to Heaven although we know it's the right place it's where we want to go if it's how we want to end up in eternity but sometimes we fall short and sometimes we mess up truth of the matter is on this journey those things are going to be illuminated to us in some way the more you pray the more God is going to reveal himself to you and in doing that you're going to see more of him less of you in those fallacies and faults and intentions and things that you mess up on and all they're going to get all exposed out there and then you got to do something with them anybody ever messed up in your life look around you there's people lying because not every hand's up yeah okay what do you do with the mess-ups I mean honestly what do you do with your mess-ups the real answer to that is I pray and ask forgiveness and and and and I get past it and I move on true that's what you do what happens to the mess up a lot of times the mess up gets covered up but it doesn't get submerged the mess up can get covered up with other fallacies we have or other issues we have instead of getting some plunged and submerged in the blood of Jesus can I help you that's why if you send 25 years ago I'll go way back there if you sin 25 years ago and you repented of your sins you were baptized in Jesus name you got forgiveness they were remitted how many believes that the blood of Jesus takes care of it then why can that thing or whatever come right back to your face you would have thought that it would have already been buried and done away with agreed all right stay with me for a moment on the Journey of 21 days we only used three weeks because the the smart people the doctors and whatnot say it takes 21 days to make a habit so we're trying to change some of our habits the fact is sometimes habits have to be broken bad habits have to be done away with Nate not yours but if you were reading a book today or if you were indeed writing a playwright and you were write or read in that book about somebody's life that had bad habits what would one of those bad habits be again it wasn't yours you're just writing this novel about those bad habits what would it be road rage lying what else why did you say that so emphatically I'm just asking you got stories right what something else complaining certainly what else gossip what else overeating yeah what else wait a minute Rebellion we'll go to that one there's a plethora of thick pauletra plethora of things that we could look at and we can decide you know what those are habits the fact of the matter is is that in 11 months time you have the opportunity to develop some pretty negative or pretty bad habits how many start off this year with with great anticipation God I'm going to do better I'm gonna pray more we'll read whatever it is what it doesn't matter what it is and the fact is is probably long about June or July August maybe you will be I don't know six seven months past that you thought I was going to say you'd be yeah the fact is is that our thoughts after daily be captivated our intentions daily have to be captivated habits we have to examine we have to look at are there any is there any such thing as a good habit name a good habit come on we name some bad ones praying for the road rage guy yeah that's a good habit what's another okay besides that one she said exercising can't believe she said that anyway what's another one bring your Bible being positive praying what's another good habit worship well what's another good habit what's another good habit good work ethic good one I'm eating less Donuts uh come on we know there's bad habits we know there's good habits the question is why are they called habits because you do them repetitively agreed so if we're doing bad things repetitively is there a way to stop those and realign those to become positive is there you got to dedicate to that though you got to commit to it here I'll give you really sure I've got a lesson here I'm gonna go to it but I'm going to give you a really short exam has anybody here ever had a brand new job the one you applied for tried for that went through all of the things put in and they selected you this is what you were going to make has anybody ever had one of those jobs you might have had several and you get there the first day how early way early because you never know about traffic right you're sitting in the parking lot an hour and everybody pulls in and you've got to do something so you don't look weird so you're like I'm reading I just pulled this parking lot I I know it's 90 miles from nowhere but man it's excitement you get on the job what happens the second day the fifth day the fifth week six months in how are you barely get there what happened what happened the new war off of it yeah the thrill of a A new challenge wore off come on we're all it's what happens right because we're human we have to put things in our brain and in our perspective in a certain way and then we respond we react and then as we get more and more comfortable with it what happens we kind of settle in and then we figure out that you know what if I get here not 30 minutes early but a minute early I'm still earlier than someone else and we then begin to just y'all with me just to qualify it's a it's the same thing with church anybody here dare to go back to when you first received the gift of the Holy Ghost come on the power of God working in your life it was all you could do not to be in church a man you're rubbing shoulders you're worshiping loving God here I can all right some of y'all looking at me like I'm weird are you young people how many enjoying holiday you convention anybody he's probably the first one down front because you know everybody at youth convention goes to the front and most of them take their shoes and socks off and they're running around down there I'm just saying I heard 500 Young Folks a thousand young folk down there come on it's that way at camp meeting too I always tell anybody to go to Camp me Watch What Happens music starts foreign now I'm just I don't know a lot I'm still learning a lot I'm still trying to plug in and study Humanity but I'm pretty sure observation pretty sure that you don't do that here I mean did I miss it it may have happened and I I was blacked out back in that corner I don't know does it why is it different should not that be a habit because your expectancy there is what expectancy here because this is just home Church this is everybody I know this is peanut butter and jelly middle of the week why should I be excited well it depends how bad is your week been how much do you need the spirit of God to blow into your lungs tonight to inflate you spiritually Stay With Me your thought pattern might have to be rethought outcomes in order to get a different expectation of the outcome you might have to try something a little different with every passing day you would arrive at the realization that you know what I'm I'm I love Jesus I'm I'm on the right path I know him but the excitement and the thrill of serving him is gone and then this is one of the things that is very challenging for Humanity when you get pushed into what is called maintenance mode much is enough just to keep me going how much is enough just so I don't mess up royally am I okay with this I'm talking tonight about our first month of the year of 2023 it might be that we need to talk to Jesus a little more about our level of dedication to him maybe we need a new way of looking at an old plan that will get you back into the position that you first desired in God now again life happens doesn't it age happens uh ailments sicknesses things happen I was I was very intrigued tonight allow me to to make mention of this I was very intrigued tonight by some of our elementary school teachers here that's that that that's my daughter's one of them and we've got several in here that teach elementary school may I share there's it so and I never never attached these two first graders that are just coming to school that can't speak well because covet made them wear a mask they couldn't associate the movement of lips to the speaking and so they didn't develop muscles in there is that hang on a second that that might not mean nothing to nobody unless that was you were the parent of one of those that's in the physical condition push that over into the spiritual condition that's why it stopped me I'm like I have never thought of the association of watching somebody's mouth hearing I get because that's inside and you're it's clicking and all that I had I had a family member that for the first two years of her life her ears were stopped up with ear infections and so when she learned to talk do you want Mike now and we all just laughed at her you know family does and then they figured out it was ear infections and it would damage their ears and they fixed it you know what happened yeah it all changed she was repeating what she was hearing so I associate that spiritually 21 days of dedication is a method that the whole church can get into Rhythm and get in the pace of what Jesus wants for Cornerstone the path peers in front of us as we shed the sins of life's choices scripture reveals that sins quite honestly easily beset you very easily sin doesn't have to work hard it's easily just boom and there it is 21 days of dedication helps us to discard The Unwanted desires and expectations that the flesh brings to the table so that we can begin to feed the spirit side and we can clearly hear the voice of Jesus that leads us in that path I read to you out of John chapter 14. very familiar to us let not your heart be troubled you believe in God believe in me Jesus is establishing here the power of believing in the all-powerful you've got to believe in him and you've got to believe that he has a plan for your life he has sufficient room for every detail of everyone's life that will ever live that's our God but you've got to desire that direction more than anything else Jesus has a place listen that he is preparing for every one of us that are looking for his appearing he goes to prepare a place so that where he is a place that you can abide and live for eternity but that's where he is that's his present location and then he goes and he says if if you'll love and worship me guess where he'll be inhabiting that so it stands to reason that if you're not hearing the voice of God maybe you're not in his presence enough through worship and praise because if he inhabits the Praises of Israel is the is the representation that can translate to his people if he lives there then what my daughter we should be doing all the time listen all them words I put together we should be praising him and know that he's there then he's leading us when we trip and fall guest guess who watched Us Fall he didn't because he's standing right there the scariest place to be friend would be miles from Jesus and fall because then nobody can pick you up there's so many problems that we bring in our lives because day in day out we make bad choices or we make choices that we don't understand things happen and next thing you know instead of hearing his voice we hear crickets that's a scary place to be for anyone so during this 21 days I think it's a tool that we can use to get us into the position for answered prayer where He blesses where he opens doors where his love works through us he this this can dedication this time of realignment if you will and looking for God's direction that plan of God can unfold in your life and daily you can get out from under the junk and the stuff that that's pushing or that that you're dealing with and the distractions that have led you away you can push free of those things and you can honestly get in the presence of the Lord and you can say what I want more than anything is to dedicate my life to him because if I do that come what may I'm still okay whatever transpires in life I'm still all right amen I can still have the hand of God leading me I believe that Jesus is still the way he said that I believe that he's still the truth I believe that he is still the life all we need is him that's what we need is him I think that in this time if you'll spend a little more time a lot more time a bunch more time whatever it is purposely taking advantage of your time unplugged from things around you to to do an inventory how are those last week we did that how are those negative things affecting me and if I for an example I've turned off Media or I've turned off social media or I've turned off entertainment whatever level you are if if things are changing it may be time that you reassess your quantity of time I I realize that that through November December of last year we got to January and I prayed in my prayer first week of January Lord bless Cornerstone Apostolic church because we're fixing to face battles we are about to face some challenges that that's going to be very taxing and trying on our church I am not a negative Prophet or any of that I simply know when you try to turn loose of stuff and flesh the enemy's standing there wanting more than anything to throw it back at you does that make sense and so battles challenges are going to happen it's intriguing to me again will you give me a moment pastor the enemy is not very good at all at throwing things that those that he's trying to attack Stay With Me he would be terrible to throw this thing at you like that now the scripture reveals to us that we should have a sword because the fiery darts fiery darts don't have to come in a million miles an hour I don't I don't know I've I've learned this week even I was with somebody on a mountain that I shouldn't have been on but I was there and I learned I'm not as quick on my feet as I used to be brother Dan I learned that all it was was a Vine no bigger round than a pencil and I'm looking at the ground really close saying why am I this close to the ground and it's because I'm tripped sight to behold to imagine to have a drone anyway here's what I figured out about the enemy even in that in that moment that's what I figured out about how the enemy works you realize a lot of times the enemies just has to do this he just has to just drop something out in front of you in your path you don't have to throw it at you knock you down with it he just gonna watch this I'm just gonna lay that out there and see just boom like a bowling ball or a basketball just then you hit it and then you're all sideways and you're moving because you're trying to get a when you start taking advantage of the power of the cross and you begin to dedicate and consecrate again to the Lord God then you see that that he's laid in your path it's an obstacle and you very quickly can can now bend over and simply move it push it out of the way or if you're desperate enough Lord I need angels to come and minister they could come down and go now what's the enemy going to do now he's got to chase that thing back down y'all realize that that God is omniscient omnipotent and I'm not present you get that everybody knows what that means you also know the devil's not the devil's not he doesn't have that power he has to wait at the bidding of God God's got to give him that's why he gently just throws stuff in our path come on you could be walking along at the clock you owe me walking I'm going to be walking along the next thing I know is one of those things and I'm like where did that come from so what I'm finding is if he indeed is the way and here's the truth and he is the light then I have to get to a place to where I can hear his voice pray that the path is cleared so that I can walk towards his plan for my life daily 21 days of dedication get you to Jesus and releases you from what the enemies hold is on you as you allow his word to move in your life it hides itself in you and the psalmist was very quick to say that if I get that word in me what will happen I will not sin against you you get him bigger the bad things become smaller you should never listen you should never allow anything to become higher or greater than Jesus in your life inventory is very important what am I doing what am I seeing what am I where am I at that things have outgrown Jesus oh God help me three weeks can change your life forever listen carefully you're ready for this some of you may know this I didn't until I started putting this together 504 hours it's 21 days 504 hours truth is that's not very long at all in the scheme of things isn't so you got to make the best of it you've got to take time to realign yourself realign your attitude your spirit your desire God be first in my life now here's the thing consecration always comes with a cost and you've got to decide am I willing to pay that price all of us have to make that decision now the young folk are in here and kids are back in kids church Young Folks sometimes your parents tell you that you need to do this and it's because I'm the head of this home and so you do it or at least you're supposed to I've said multiple times when my teenagers were in house and pre-teens and teenagers daddy why can't we go here Daddy why can't we go there why can't we do this or why can't we do that and now I could have been like my dad and said because I said so is that sufficient why sure worked for me but this generation's smarter I know that because they need more information because they have so much information and so this is how I taught mine kids I don't know if it was right or wrong it's just what we did I said to them when they asked about various things it didn't matter what it was um movies didn't matter what anything would just name this is what I told him I said you know what until you are able to develop your own convictions you will live by your dads and they said well that ain't Fair sure it is because that's my joy and responsibility come on you're you're foolish parents if you're gonna let your teenagers figure out what they're doing I'm telling you kids will never choose right over wrong unless they're helped and led and guided well Dad that ain't Fair good then call me unfair about all my friends go good it's better you don't go as an example and they wouldn't even have the question the audacity to say well the Bible don't say thou shalt not whatever I said you're right but the Bible does say spoil the rod and beat you with it no Daddy don't say that how do you know that much about the Bible but you don't know the other things in the Bible come on while you're picking and choosing and they say they say okay Dad all right now whether they adhere I don't know as far as I can tell pretty much and then they started getting to the age of where they were making their decisions they were still under my roof and so guess what they were eating my food so guess what oh come on Mom Dad help me don't be afraid of it you're gonna live by my rules so there come a time when that choice or that decision that shouldn't have been made was made the way it was made and afterwards almost without fail the Lord God was gracious and I could somehow figure it out even if I didn't figure it out I could somehow think make them think that I figured it out and then they'd come to me and they said Dad I this or are that I said I know how do you know I don't I didn't see you go that place that I told you not to I didn't witness you go to that nobody call me and tell me anything what I know is this I know your fruit I know what your character is and what your countenance is and when you do wrong it changes you now listen carefully Pastor I'm trying to help all of us I'm a man just like any other man you better know it I make mistakes I trip and fall I have issues I deal with daily I pray over things all the time but if you ever think for one moment that you'll get to heaven without a Shepherd you have just swallowed the biggest lie the enemy can give to you not because of who I am but it's because of what he's asked me to do and you know I can tell if you're following the Lord or if you're following the flesh by the way you interact with this with me because if you've got an attitude with me or something comes out with me I'll know it most likely I'm not all that ooey gooey in the super nagu no you know what I am I have a call to God he's given me a responsibility you listen to me God won't let his servant be harmed that's a great weight so I can tell if you started straying or attitudes or challenges and things that you're no longer wanting to hear what preacher has to say you no longer ask advice or counsel you just kind of Do Your Own Thing I I know what's happening because you've begun to believe a lie and the enemy's twisting you up and turning you in circles and if I were to counsel and try to help you through a certain certain situation you wouldn't listen to it so you then figure out here listen to me you then figure out what's the use I'll go ahead and do it and while you do that you walk and you do and you go and you act and you do what you do I can't go anywhere because God called me to this and I have to Simply let you walk away with a broken heart and hope and pray that you come back this is not a sob story for pastor I'm trying to help you realize the power of the authority that God if you're walking upright before God you'll have no problem with your pastor if you do it's because you Lord help me John 14 ends this way verse 12 verily verily I say unto you he that believeth on me y'all listen to what Jesus says is this still in red yeah there he that believeth on me the works that I do shall he do also and what's it say um Greater Works than these shall he do because I go unto my father whatsoever ye shall ask in my name that will I do that the father may be glorified in the son if you shall ask anything in my name I will do it how is it that we could do Greater Works uh I've never asked anybody to come out of a tomb have you I I've never blessed a handful of fish and bread and it feed thousands have you well there's a reason that the book of Acts reveals to us in the letter written to Theophilus was this he said with many infallible proofs he spent time and he declared these infallible proofs and he talked about things that could not be denied they were not able to be disquiet they were truthful things that say if I wrote them all down what does it say the world couldn't contain the volumes is that right if that's the case how in the world is it then we that follow him can do things in even greater things can kind of help us tonight and then I'm watching the clock we're okay fact is this let me say it like this it's easy to love Jesus and worship him when he's blessing you and when things are happening and you're just in the presence of the Lord all's well and things are going on your whoa Glory everybody knows it because you testify about it with your shouting and you're running and you're up and down agreed but what about when everything's falling apart everything's broken up where's the testimony at that point the Greater Works he's talking about is while Jesus walked here in shoe leather man everybody was looking for him and if you didn't get across town to where Jesus was walking guess what you only heard of him you only got the rumor of him but now now because his spirit is in You by the infilling of the Holy Ghost guess what he's here come on dude he's here and because of that Greater Works are because he's no longer here saying go do that go preach that go lay hands on there go do this now instead he's saying I'm in you now wherever you go I am there I'm with you you just gotta walk it just talk it just be that let the word get in your life and change you and do things in you why because Greater Works are happening in you every single day now I I get confused sometimes with this and I think well there's going to come a day then that every one of us will stand up and we'll raise 500 people from the dead that's not what this talks about that is not your job who's going to bust the graves wide open him and he's not going to do it who is the Trump the voice of the archangel come on get up out of the grave get up get up that'd be a good song let me write that one of these days get up out of that grave get up get up no it never wouldn't go over well greater things listen carefully and my wheels are coming down brother Duron if you could help me please if we can believe somehow someway that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever we believe honestly that the word that's working in us the spirit of God that's touching us and changing us and if we could really simply believe getting us out of the way all the junk out of the way and realign ourselves with his plan and his purpose that he could actually use us in this hour to move mountains wouldn't we want to do that I don't know what 2023 is going to unfold for Cornerstone this past week we talked about some business things that were some some property things that we're just talking about we don't have all the answers and quite honestly I haven't seen a box of money up under a bridge somewhere that a leprechaun buried I haven't seen it some of you may know where it's at if so go ahead and grab it bring it to me and I'll explain it to you I don't know I do know this there was a day when Jesus is standing in the church he said hey check this guy out come here guys watch this guy this guy with all this piety and all of his pump and all of his uppityness and all of his look at meness sachets up to the offering basket opens up and with great declaration says are you according and all the disciple men are going man that dude ah he's got the right idea look how much he's given and his little bitty person that you can't hardly see is feeble if you will just quiet very unassuming makes her way past him and all of his glory and all of his grandeur and she reaches in her little pouch and she drops in two little mites you can't even hear him hit the pan Jesus says to those you all know the story hey question who gave more that's a no-brainer Jesus couldn't you hear all that change all that gold and silver hit the bottom of the pan come on it was that God I mean look at the guy got all kind of stuff man he's got his act together he's blessed he's you know he's been successful look and Jesus gently ever so gently turns as he did so many times and he says no no the little Widow right there she gave more than him now instantly Humanity says you you surely can't be talking about the finances of this because he did put in a whole lot more to show you how Jesus Works he cares less about your millions and trillions he wants to know why you did it and out of what part of your heart you gave it with the true understanding that I give of everything I've got to Jesus now the disciples I have no doubt standing there brother Rob's saying boy this don't make no sense at all Jesus just kind of pauses as he was so good at doing and even knowing his words left hit their ears and they're pondering now the difference in these two givers I have no doubt my mind Jesus kind of went walks away and all these guys gather close and they're examining this and they're like John yes Andrew it's got nothing to do with money but it's got everything to do with the desire of the heart so I ask you again stand with me if he truly wants us to see greater things and and to do greater things and to experience greater stuff then maybe it's time in in this 21 days that we check our Focus y'all hear pastors say multiple multiple times motive matters always check your motive why do you do what you do and if your motive now has somehow someway been skewed realigned and all to the things and the cares and the stuff of this world guess what per that example I just gave you Jesus could care less about all your stuff he's looking at what's going on in here so this is the time in your 21 days God I don't know what the future holds for our church in 2023 but Lord I give myself to you help me God to realign my brain as I disconnect from the stuff around me God let me see Lord and feel the burden of the hour let me grab a hole with a passion Lord your passion and just love you and serve you don't let don't let your voice be the third or fourth thing that I listen for but let it be the first thing that I listen for don't let your will and your word God be revealed to me five or six chapters Lord let me see it from the beginning of it so that I know that I know that I know that I'm following you and I'm aligning myself with you anybody feel like praying tonight it's 805. anybody feel like just reaching out and talking to the Lord come on anybody your heart hungry tonight this altar's open if you want to come that's up to you maybe you're okay right there where you are you can talk to the Lord and ask him Lord help me to see the the wrong or the bad or the negative and help me Lord to realign it to your plan and purpose I pray God that I would see you Jesus committing myself to you Lord I this world is not my home the things of of this world lord they're not going to go with me to heaven I'm I'm born interested in you I don't need your blessings Lord I need you I don't need the stuff that you can give me God I I need you I I need you come on somebody it's time for you to get in touch with the master Lord I need you I need you I need you I need you I need you help me to have a right attitude lord always help me Lord to check myself in this hour Jesus Jesus oh that man would trust you oh that man would call on your name come on somebody Make It Count Lord in myself God I cannot I I I don't know how but if I'm full of the Holy Ghost if I'm full of the power of God Revelation comes to me Lord and I Can See Clearly your plan and your purpose for my life Jesus Jesus Jesus come on somebody you're one step away you're one one step away I'm convinced that many miracles could accomplish tonight you're so close to that prayer and that praise that God could come in and do a work in your life that's right come on you are so close to the miraculous opening up in your life Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus Hallelujah to the Lamb of God I glorify the name of Jesus come on give him praise somebody give the Lord Praise somebody Give the Lord Praise somebody give the Lord Praise God help me to look past all the junk get it out of the way draw me near to you Lord let me get close to you Jesus let me fall in love with you God who you are what you are in my life God I pray for a calm Assurance to know It Is Well with My Soul to the oh Jesus come on that's right Church come on find that place in him the name of Jesus Jesus Jesus I so need you Lord I so need you Jesus great is your faithfulness oh God I plead your blood over the church tonight Jesus I plead your blood over every family that's in this room I plead your blood Lord God a protection a hedge Lord Jesus about the church oh God our desire is your fire consuming fire of the Holy Ghost the name of Jesus the name of Jesus I need you Lord trust you I trust you somebody say in Jesus name foreign holy God but he recognized this whole song he's playing I need every out I need thee so bless me I say I come true thee can you make it your going home prayer tonight sing it out loud I need the oil I need thee every hour I need thee so less me now my savior I come true anybody feel that presence of the Lord once again sing it loud and clear I need you I need thee hey every hour I need thee play me now my save your foreign did you take your hand close to you let's pray as we leave Lord thank you so much for the church church family the body of Christ thank you for the word Lord and for the power of the word to change us got it to make us what we need to be go with us Lord I pray bless every home every family every life Lord that's in this room tonight let the glory of the Lord shine as we are dedicating ourselves again realigning and refocusing Lord to you let your voice speak to us Jesus lead us in the playing path Lord make the rough ways smooth God I pray the Crooked path straightened them Lord I pray let us find favor Lord I pray in the eyes of those around
