pray with me right now lord jesus we love you savior we trust you today we have gathered here lord we have worshipped you in song we have worshiped you in giving we have worshipped you in our praise and prayer but right now lord we want to hear from you one more time lord i make myself available to you i need you jesus i trust you that your words speak into us today god let us leave here lord full of you as we go into a world i need you would you lift your hand and love him before you sit down one more time i love you and i thank you jesus worthy is your name worthy is your name jesus hallelujah you may be seated if you feel like you need to thank you once again to our singers our musicians thank you to our sunday school staff teachers helpers thank you to the security guys the front working folks the back working folk this audio everybody that's got a part of church thank you so much it all happens because we all do our party man amen amen in the early part of 1861 there was a war that was raging in the borders of this great nation the war was a conflict of ideas and principles there was a collision if you will of men's versions of what is right and what is wrong humanity and business were topics not to only talk about but to take to the field of battle and declare which one was right and which one was wrong it was a way of thinking if you will it was a principle that said i have this idea i have this thought therefore i'm willing to go and die for it you and i know it called the civil war turn to your neighbor and say a long time ago the civil war it was the war between states if you will it was brother who fought against brother ideas they they ruled the reason behind what they did the willingness to die for this cause was incredible in fact it would ultimately prove to be the bloodiest and most gruesome conflict on u.s soil it would claim more than 650 000 lives on both opposing sides armies with a purpose and a cause that felt that it was worth fighting and dying for why even here in this region in which you and i live from here close to chattanooga there are remains that have made our area of the country popular because of that conflict we've all heard of the battle of chickamauga for those who don't know how to say it it's chickamauga we understand the battle above the clouds we know all about those wars and those skirmishes that happened between men who had ideas not far from where we stand or where you sit right now over in middle tennessee there there's the battle of stone's river is still there you can go to murphysboro and look at it and you can read all of the heritage and the history of that on that particular battlefield go with me today if you can there was a young boy who served there from the ninth regiment of the michigan army his name was robert henry hindershot anybody ever heard of this young fella i thought not is mccain still in the room make cake come here buddy i want to give you all an example of robert robert when he entered the civil war how do you was nine years old fact civil war does that not blow your mind would you fight in a war thank you buddy nine years old he has claimed to be one of the youngest soldiers to ever fight to ever dawn if you will a uniform there were many of course young children that fought during the civil war and if you're a civil war buff you you probably know a lot of this but give me a few moments here these young people these children if you will they fought for patriotism or they fought because their older brothers were fighting or they simply fought because they didn't know what else to do many of them you can read stories about you can watch movies if you will but something today that i want to bring to our attention if you will there's a portion of the efforts of the civil war that was fought here in our nation that i came across and i was incredibly intrigued by it as i read the parts of this historical document and and these these history stories that were written the task that these these young boys were to accomplish in the war between the states i noticed that something was very distinct about these young men something that was very difficult even for me to grasp and comprehend today but yet i want to bring it to your attention if you will allow me to the task of the drummer boy let it play was very difficult to say the least just bring it down they were to set a tone they were to put into place a rhythm their job was to set the cadence for march as the soldiers would move into action in the heat of any raging battle this noise is what you would want to hear the drummer boy would play at a cadence that the commander would call move forward and this one would play move reverse and this one would play when you hear this move to the left when you hear that one move to the right a different sound a rhythm that would indicate that the warring troops were now moving into battle and they were trying their best to simply communicate one with another these boys when the multitudes of men would march from one location to the other they would set what was called the cadence or the rhythm stay with me there are scientific studies that have been done throughout history that show the effects of synchronized movement that has a purpose to put things in order the results of these studies are amazing when groups of people will move in unison there is almost a euphoric attitude that begins to unfold as these people hear the rhythm and they begin to move into the place where they need to be when people come together in this uniform motion energy begins to transfer one to another this practice my friend goes back to civilizations and days gone by from the ottoman empires to the genghis khan to the european societies on and on the historical accounts give a reference that in order to move mass of group of people from point a to point b you could not do it haphazardly they discovered through history and research that if they simply said y'all come on let's go that it would confuse the effort that that uniform that was not there that synchronicity that did not happen it would in fact work against the soldiers because it would almost be as if everything had lost control everything had lost its rhythm and as they would just move about they would come to the place where they were going to rest for the night and they would be weary they would find themselves very exhausted but when they would pound the drums when they would make the rhythm happen something began to transpire between what was going on on the battlefield and where they were headed and in unison there was something that happened to them i can recall in my days in active service and in the national guard how they would teach us to march in step how they would teach us to hold the cadence the drill sergeant very good at what he did live right here rattle hip hip hip holder lip right left lip right leg and when you got 300 guys in in line you can't be out of sync it looks bad it feels bad you're banging into one another things are happening and you're all in this discourse but if you could ever if you could ever if you could ever come together there's something that transitions itself and moves into the lives of others allow me a moment to pause here friend here at our church at cornerstone apostolic church i can see in the eyes of many of you how that god has performed the miraculous in you i was there when god allowed that child to be born when the doctors already said you can't have them i was there when the anointing of the lord healed a cancer in your body and your eyes began to fill with hope because things began to transpire in your life stay with the pastor a moment i can right now look into what should have been destruction and dismay into some of your lives but for some reason something changed and now there's hope that they sing about there's trust in the word and the power of god i know that some of y'all done messed up you ought to be dead and by the wayside and the shell of a person but instead you're in the house of god today you've decided it is well worth living for god and loving him all the days of your life stay with me the reason that i bring the left and the right together is here is because in 2021 i fear that there's a noise there's a separate rhythm there's another drum beat that's out in this world and it's trying to distract the church it's trying to pull you aside it's trying to make you walk to the beat of another drum but the bible tells us in psalm 133 and 1 behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity in our culture of 2021 i've come to tell you there's a whole lot of ideas and there's a whole lot of intentions there's confusion and there is chaos indeed there's false narratives there's lies there's questions there's wanderings there's scratching of heads do they believe anything anymore come to tell somebody you better be careful in the church unless you begin to listen to the drum beat of something else unless you begin to listen and you get out of step with what the church is doing and you get out of step with what the word of god says and you get out of step with what the preacher says and you begin to follow after what the things of the world are instead of the things of god no real step in the world no correct rhythm in the world no walking drum if you will nothing out there that says this is order and this is exactly the way it i've come today to this desk to tell somebody with a clear sound you need to understand it instead of wrestling and confusing yourself with the sound of this world you need to get in step with what has been established from the beginning for the church age now it's not the day to decide i'm smarter than anybody else i'll do it my way instead of his way you better discover today what rhythm are you walking to pastor why are you letting that play it's got to get inside you you've got to recognize that i am on the lord's side he's the one calling my shots i'm listening to the creator i'm not at all looking for hear me looking for a place that i can hit the reset button and just say you know what k said i said ah whatever will be will be not the case my friend hear me first corinthians 14 33 do not misinterpret this verse god is not the author of confusion but of peace as in all churches of the saints i know in 14 of first corinthians they're talking about speaking in tongues and they're talking about how it was done and he's given clear indication and for some the world has decided that we need to start another rhythm and that the holy ghost is speaking in tongues is of the devil it's evil it's not the way to do it but friend of mine i've come to tell you the whole purpose in this was to say if you understand the power and purpose of the word of god then you will know beyond the shadow of a doubt when the holy ghost was poured out the spirit of god changed the heart and the life of the one who received it some will tell you that was for the first century church or that was just for them you better be careful what drum beat you're walking to you give up on god's spirit and the next thing you know and the next thing you know because their rhythm is different and the step they take is wrong and it will lead you down a path that looks very good on a camera it sounds really good in a book it even sounds good in a song they write but they are simply dead men's bones stay with me there is no other name given among men whereby you must be saved it is still the name of jesus i come today to remind you that there is still a cadence in the church there is still a rhythm in the church i've come to tell you that if my grandmother were here today if my mom was in this room today they would tell you there's a reason we dressed the way we dressed up there's a reason we didn't do the things that the world was doing there's a reason we walked the way we walked there's a reason we talked how we talked it didn't have nothing to do with what the outside was showing it had to do with everything on the inside don't you think for one moment that you can make your own path and set your own drum beat and try to figure it out to say well what they really meant was this look my little granny in the face granny why'd you dress that way why'd you go to those places and she'd be very kind to tell me i'll tell you why she was that tall i'll tell you why because if i'm following the word of the lord his word does not change and somebody got to hear the preacher the month of january if you'll recall on the wednesday nights the bible studies that we did was on the word of god remember that that's why y'all got being church on midweek the word of god and all of the things that it's come through and all the times and all the trials and all the tests all the fires all the floods all the storms all the things that happened we are here today in our society and in our culture with the word of god that we hold so very dear to our hearts there is a reason that this is what we are held accountable for hear me if it's in the word of the lord and if the scripture reveals it then you and i need to understand there has to be a reason and a purpose for it some would say and argue to say that well what they really meant was okay what did they really mean i don't mind telling you as a young preacher growing up sister units i had a lot of questions and i'd go to my pastor and i'd say brother chidrick why do the young people do this or why do old people do that or why is this this why is this that and he'd look at me with his asthma and there's the emphasis he go well i can tell you why because it's the right thing to do and the conviction of the lord says that if you're going to come out and be separate you're going to have to make some tough decisions and choices it's in the word of the lord and i'd look at him and i say yeah but these young people listen to me church you listen to pastor these young people want to know why we're doing such things or how come this is done this way and he simply look across his glasses at me and he would say because the word of the lord says that if you'll submit to the teaching in your life that there's protection and provision there if you get out from under that you are going to be on your own and you'll have to pick yourself up a drama and begin to try to decide what it sounds like and begin to try to decide if you can get a following listen to this preacher today there's our world in which we live listen to me if you don't like what's going on all you got to do is go to the streets and begin to protest and raise a sign and yell with a loud voice and every news camera in the world will come and look at it i want to invite them today come into the house of the lord and bring that camera and let somebody who's got conviction somebody who understands the power of the cross to stand up and say you know why i look the way i do you know why i dress like i do it's not to show you up it's not to separate you it's to separate me it's to say it's worth doing everything that i can for the king of glory who saved my life who washed me and cleansed me and put me on the right path jude jude had a really short book and he wrote this in verse 3. beloved when i gave all diligence to write unto you the common salvation it was need for me to write unto you and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints earnestly contend why would jude and his short riding simply tell people to fight to just stand there and decide i will contend for this i will stand upon this i don't mind telling you he called it a common salvation why because there's only one way one thread that goes through it it's exactly the way that it was established by god you need to understand something church that when the drum beat if you will when the rhythm of the church it did not start in 2021 it did not start with the birth of cornerstone apostolic church and no it did not it started way back in the bible days if i could say it that way simplistic it started way back when the church began to be established you realize on the day of pentecost when the holy ghost was poured out there was a glorious anointing that descended into that room and those cloven tongues as a fire that began to move was solidifying everything of old testament teaching into the new testament way and when peter stood that day he didn't just make something up out of the air he had already gone back into old testament books and dragged it forward and said this is why there's an abrahamic covenant this is why there was circumcision this is what it meant we don't have to do that today in the flesh but instead it's fulfilled in the spirit but until you understand the old one you'll never comprehend the new one listen to me there's a whole world out there today that's trying to confuse the church and everything i know that i know that i'm making light of that but listen to me i won't sing to come by here my lord until i've gone by here because i know that all the words and the voice of god speak in an altar you won't get a word from the lord by haphazardly passing by somebody else's temple you're gonna have to get in an altar i know brother ethan i know what carpet padding looks like because i've been all up under the rug as the anointing of the lord came and smashed me into the carpet and i laid there for hours i know what it's like to be woke in the middle of the night and wonder why is this word rumbling in my spirit i know this morning the four times that i got up out of bed i couldn't let it rest it it came back and back all i could hear was a drumbeat all i could hear was a rhythm happening and i'm saying god why can't i sleep i need my rest and the lord's pounding the drum in my spirit i realize i'm using a symbolic mode today but i'm telling you this because in our world there's a whole lot of rhythms that's trying to pull you uh and trying to drag you away from the goodness of god i've come to read to you first peter chapter one verse number 13 wherefore gird up the loins of your mind be sober and hope to the end of grace that he had brought unto you at the revelation of jesus christ as obedient children not fashioning yourselves according to the former lust in your ignorance but as he which call hath called you is holy so be ye holy in all manner of conversation because it is written be ye holy for i am holy there's a step there's a rhythm there's a cadence that was allowed to be set into motion and that was simply this holiness is what you do holiness is how you live there's a reason that your elders and your grandparents live the lives that they lived in their generation there's a reason they dressed the way that they did and they walked the way that they walked they considered holiness to be a way of life and not a way of rules they understood many things in the word of god listen to preacher today because they got into the word of god they didn't take somebody's book form of it they didn't ask somebody else they got into the word and figured out if i'm gonna be saved it's gonna be because i make tough decisions and holy choices holiness under the lord it is still the rhythm of the church come on if you think for a moment that you're going to be able to sway them by becoming one of them i know that i'm using terms so broad here but i've come to tell you that them and the those and that they understand the meaning of it is very simple if god is on your side if the word of god has become flesh and is working in your life understand friend that god is still with the church you cannot allow the noise of battle to cause you to forget holiness you know what the old-timers did they gave of everything that they had they understood the rhythm of giving they gave up their finances they gave him food and fellowship they gave of their talents listen they gave up praying for others outwardly and inwardly they gave in supporting ministry in the mission of the church they could hear the rhythm of the scriptures that say give and it shall be given to you good measure pressed down shaken together running over out of men's bosoms i've said this before to our church board and probably many of you as a child i remember our church building we were in a basement we could seat about 35 or 40 people and they decided to build a bigger sanctuary so they took the top off it was used to be a bomb shelter there you go they put a metal building on top of it put a church up i remember vividly my dad coming home i was a young boy and dad said they've asked us men if we could to take out mortgages on our homes to bring the money so we can build a church and they did it i have never asked any of you for anything to come out of your pocket but i want you to know something that the word of god is very clear if you give it will be given and we want to one lord help me not to meddle we want to wonder sometimes why our finances are in such disarray and how come that the budget that we've said lord jesus how come the budget line item lord you know what it's going to take for this this and that and if there's time lord i'll put this one in what it would be what would it be like to shift it to the top and simply say lord preacher not asking for nothing but i believe that my children and my grandchildren need a church that they can fall in love with where they can believe in the power of the cross where they can understand the anointing of the lord that will destroy the yoke that has them bound when will the church house become the first house considered when will the things of god become the things of god that should be done before anything or everything hey listen to me i remember as a child my parents they didn't know no better but instead of a doctor's visit instead of going to the clinic as fast as you could get there it was a prayer meeting i i y'all know someone look at me saying yeah but that was back then and now we got doctors and they're so smart it's called a practice my brother threw the rock it cracked my head and blood's everywhere i remember that little guy my brother is scared to death i'm gonna tell mom how do i not tell mom blood's all over me no mom they said i got your back mike what this thing i don't know they just showed up why can't i still see this brother daniel i go running now my mom looks back from the sewing machine that's when she that's when she used to sew my sister's dresses out of a dollar and a half yard of material because going to the store and buying them everything was so immodest you think today is different than then and i walked in that room and there's blood here my mom jumps outside what's happening my brother's like i was about to get to the rug my mom was such a good mom she said right load up the ambulance we're going now him you'll get up no she didn't she said sit down here and she grabbed a hold of my head sister stacy and she put her thumbs left and right side of that crack and the blood coming out she mashed it together and she said i refuse this in the name of jesus she said raymond listen to me and repeat the words i give you and when i pass by thee and saw thee polluted in thine own blood yea i say unto thee live yea i say unto live and when i pass by thee and saw they polluted the thine own blood yea i say unto thee live yes my third time through chesney mom pulls her hand back she looked at it and said yeah that ought to do it here have a coke and i sat there and drank my coke no blood coming out i wonder what hey hear what i'm telling i'm not lying to nobody i'm telling you when you get the word in here and you realize i march to the rhythm of another drum beside the one the world says i believe in the healing power of the holy ghost i believe god can make a way i believe he can heal a body i believe he can put it back together y'all sit down you're taking up my time yeah i got this man lord mom you're watching today i love you she'll tell you that she cut her wrist open bled almost bled to death and when the ambulance took her they dragged her to the clinic because it was deep and wide she'd punch somebody missed him and hit the glass broken there's a big story ask her about all that i think a boy was involved anyway she told me she said raymond when i came to and they were taking me into the clinic the only thing i remember saying as my as i came to and i was cognizant of what was going on around me had a big towel wrapped around my arm and when i passed by the and saw they polluted and unknown blood yeah i say until they live yes and they live and when they finally took the time to pull the blood stained rag around from my arm he looked at it and said this thing don't need stitches it's still there today very clean line right there and right there very clean it's not got any stitch marks or nothing god put it back together don't tell me god can't do it you ask my children first thing they do and they start bleeding you're not going to the clint come here and when i passed by thee it's all they polluted in my own blood and my daughter's standing who are this oh no what's going on here okay all right wow it's good yeah i'm good i'm good she's back out playing again i've come to tell you i told her a thousand times like i've told my son a million times listen to me it's things that only god can do but if the children of god will march through the rhythm of the scripture and understand there's a pace there's something that's happening if you'll do it because it's the right thing to do what are you looking for are you listening for something better out there there ain't nothing better than a bloodball child of god and a church that'll preach jesus name baptism in the name of jesus christ i'm telling you that if you listen to it god will move what are you listening to today has the world entice you and tried to pull you into something that's not going to get you to heaven are you believing more of simply believing and receiving than just saying it's worth taking my baby to the altar why because god gave you that baby it's worth saying if god healed me walked up he can heal me again yes he can it's worth saying if god before me who can be against me can you hear it today can you hear the beat of the saints of old the bible tells us there's a great cloud of witnesses i understood if i'm gonna do this i'll do it in the name of the lord jesus there's not a rhythm in this world that's gonna pull me aside there's not anything that this world can do and offer me i'm in the lord's army the next generation is listening for a sound little [name redacted] needs to know that standing on that wall right there with his hands up at three god can fill him with the holy ghost but denver needs to know that he can get back that he can get in there one day when the lord allows it god oh god speaking already mckay there's an anointing on your life young man you need to know it and there's an anointing right there why connor there's an anointing right there you need to let god do it but the only way gracie they're going to do it is when you see the promises of god unfold in the church house this is the way mom did it this is the way dad did it this is the way grandpa did it this is the way great grandma did it this is how the church was established it wasn't done by simply doing something else it was done because there's a generation out in this world that's watching the church and they really want to know who's the church they're tired of all the false promises all the pretext of just believing and living it that way they don't spill a change they wonder what's going on and why they can't will themselves into the miraculous heaven i've come to tell you why it ain't their heaven it's his heaven he's the one who said what was gonna happen how you were gonna get there and what you were going to need to do to get through the gate about somebody else decided let's make another heaven no oh yes lord i'm coming to you i'm not out of step i'm following you it doesn't mean you're not gonna fall trip sometimes stand with me and wonder what in the world just happened so y'all thought this was just music there were entire countries established because they marched to the drone i didn't come to hype anybody up i didn't come today to tell somebody you know what if you'll just listen to this rhythm every night before you go to bed you'll be saved i mean you know what i'm telling you brother lorenzo there's a reason god healed you there's a reason he put you on the right track logan there's a reason god delivered you there's a reason god didn't work in your life there's a reason katie beth that you ain't not lost your mind god knew what he was doing and he's established dakota you need to know the anointing of the lord will change everything if you'll walk after him if you'll walk after him said god has answered so many prayers in your life you need to be the first one to let your children know this is unto the lord and this is how you do it we go to church on sunday we stay all day as we have to we oh we go to the bible study of midweek we study the word at home we get into the word at home you pray before we go to bed we come on you need to do this with your babies we pray when we get up we talk about him when we sit down we talk about him when we go on the way when i'm standing in walmart i'm a godly person when i'm doing what i need to do on the job i'm a godly person you're not going to watch me cursing over here and trying to be a god person over here i believe that there's an anointing for those who will listen to the drum beat to the rhythm of the word to the beat of the heart of god and follow after him some of you right now you got so many drum beats out there so many rhythms of worldliness and carnality trying to make yourself bigger than what it is this right here kind of sounds weird to some of them turn up josh sounds kind of strange what do you mean that's that's organized that's rhythmatic that's good pastor you don't lost your mind you better believe i have i gave it to god a long time ago i'm marching to the lord's army i'm headed to cal i'm headed to what he's got prepared for me i know exactly what the word tells me i still believe in the old rugged cross put your hands in the air right now pray with me church yours josh you can drop it down jesus we believe your word is true we believe the scriptures are true we believe your anointing still moves mountains it still flows through the church we believe god that there is a way that seems right to man but the end of its destruction therefore we refuse to walk in that rhythm and in that be but instead we're going to listen to the word we're going to listen to the the word we're going to listen to the word we're going to listen to the preacher we're going to submit ourselves to the things of god we're going to understand holiness and righteousness and living a godly life and giving of our time talent and treasure we're going to look into it we're going to teach it to our children we're going to ask our parents and grandparents the why and then we're going to pour ourselves into the things of god i believe today there's a walking drum there's a sound that is pounding if you will in our world but i wonder are we listening church are we listening church are we listening repentance is still the right thing turning from your wickedness godly sorrow working in your life baptism in the only saving name of jesus christ is still the only way to be baptized don't think for a moment that a title will get you there it is only the name that will make the difference the feeling of the holy ghost the evidence will be there for you and anybody else that you'll speak in tongues as the spirit moves in your life i still believe in a holy life i still believe in consecration and dedication listen to me there's a drum beat of the spirit there's a rhythm there's a thing that began way back in the beginning god created that active word everything was set into rhythm you don't believe it why do we have green leaves now on a tree why two weeks ago did we have so much pollen in the air three weeks prior to that no leaves that's a rhythm that's a rhythm of nature it's time to pray in the house of the lord some of you right now need to be running to this altar saying lord i've been i've been walking to the beat of a really strange drum and i don't know how i got there but i ask you lord today to help me to get back in line with the word help me god to teach my children and my grandchildren the right way to do things help me lord to understand and comprehend the ways of the word of god come on mom and dad if your kids are going to understand holiness it's going to be because you taught it to them you're not going to wait for some teacher at school to teach it to them instead you're going to let your example be the educator that's right come on this altar is open we all need to find a place of prayer today in the name of jesus yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah come on prayer time come on mom and dad bring your kids get a hold of a kid pray with them jesus jesus jesus that's right come on that's right i believe in you jesus coming after you lord i submitted to you lord oh yes come on open your mouth in praise right now jesus jesus jesus oh that's right come on lord help me to submit to your word your way your promise your provision your protection your holiness your glory your glory in the name of jesus come on pray church come on pray open your mouth mom and dad open your mouth let your kids hear you pray come on let them hear your voice let them hear you mention them to god that's right in the name of jesus the name of jesus come on pray in the name of jesus come on you can receive the holy ghost right now yes you can you can receive the promise of the word right now come on salvation right now that's right come on come on in the name of jesus god's a healer yes he is come on pray right now praise him right now lord i
