pray with me right now let's pray over the word Lord we thank you so much Heavenly Father for your grace and your goodness thank you for the power of the Cross Lord that causes us to rise in worship today because of what you have done in our lives we gathered here Lord today and we sang songs we've prayed we've brought our needs to you Lord we brought praise to you but right now Lord we desperately need to hear your voice speak into our lives Lord let us leave here changed by the glory Cloud as it fills this place One More Time Lord I make myself available to you I so need you Lord I so need you I Love You Lord you do great things I don't know how but you've done it is God you're faithful thank you one more time to our singers and musicians thank you to our Sunday School staff our workers thank you for those who help in whatever capacity here at Cornerstone I want you to know how much I appreciate your investment in the Kingdom I mean he knows it matters come on it matters you do your part I do my part we we trust the Lord for all things amen amen I give honor to all of you for being here today if you're online watching we're glad you're here get your Bibles out we're going to go to the word of the Lord you may be seated if you feel like you need to foreign ature as Humanity there are a lot of things that we do only because we are forced into that thing one example that I could give you on that particular thought today is is this little four-letter word that most of us have been well acquainted with basically it's the word is fear everybody say fear come on say it fear have you ever been fearful it's a it's a very real thing isn't it come on fear is a very real thing sometimes you can be afraid and Fear Can overshadow you so much so that that you you feel like your heart's going to pound out of your chest anybody know what I'm talking about today you may maybe you lose your breath or you find it difficult to breathe begin to sweat nervously and you're the the the the the the settling in of something happening Humanity very challenged when it comes to fear now you guys all you know that I have a little fuzzy guy that occupies the little face in my house where he wants to when that little guy's afraid he has the most interesting way of dealing with fear anybody know what a growl sounds like yeah yeah you feel that fear huh brother Jerry sometimes my little guy's so afraid the only thing he knows to do is growl so because I know that I make sure he does it a lot if you have a helium balloon it's the best show on Earth I'm joking fun to watch now we know that the feeling of fear most of the time hear what I'm saying most of the time fear settles in because of the unknown what if what about this what will I do in this situation fear manifests itself until truth shows up anybody ever ever been called out because there's a strange noise in the house and and fear settles in and you only when you finally find your way around the house and you discover it's a something that's hitting up again something or the fans causing you know I want you to know the truth then fear subsides does it not because you your your mind your your spirit wants to know truth and the truth of the matter is if I may is as long as you understand why and what for your mind and your heart can deal with the fear oh I got nothing to be afraid of I got nothing to be fearful of kids chill out it's going to be okay when you are forced into situations sometimes you act irrational sometimes it's almost silly you know I won't replay to you the time when little man was left outside two o'clock in the morning the police were called because somebody was pounding on the Windows of the house and lo and behold we came to discover that it was little guy trying to get in somebody had left him outside now once that was figured out the police had some explaining to do don't let the little guy out unless you let him back in honest officers suffer he didn't even know he was out there we're terrible people what about this one what about this one waiting I mean even Joy the waiting doesn't matter what you're waiting on who in here likes to wait on things come on every hand in here ought to be up right now yeah we all enjoy waiting on bad stuff to happen anybody here waiting on your day to die oh you don't think of that but you learn how to wait don't you you know what that one can just back itself away waiting sometimes you and I we want things to happen very quickly in an instant and it's it's true in all all areas of our life have you ever have you ever had to wait in line oh Isn't that cool you go to the bank you know you got five minutes during work and you're having to wait in that line and everybody's watching the front of the line right because you're trying to help hey you how many likes to wait in line come on I mean I like to wait in the drive-through line because in my mind I'm saying this is supposed to be fast food and it ain't I'm just saying I may like to wait for vacation man okay vacation being nine months I'm gonna wait for that it's gonna be yeah I could be all right yeah I mean wait wait for for a birthday or Christmas or holiday or any kind of time when you you think people are going to celebrate how many here's one uh that's near and dear to me right now you're waiting on a baby to be born I mean he knows you can't hurry up come on here we go come on I got five minutes and we're gonna no okay in all aspect y'all listen to me in all aspects of Our Lives we have to deal with waiting there's not one of us that Rebel in the moment when is there a time where it is okay to wait hey yeah how about this one waiting on paying your taxes that's a good one waiting on your time to get a speeding ticket yeah waiting waiting on on what you thought was going to be bad but it actually turned out good but the truth of the matter is when you are waiting on something it's much like fear the unknown is what's driving you crazy when it comes to something good we want it to happen like now don't we you know the microwave needs to beep right now the line needs to go down right now the five million check needs to come in the mail right now you know we we do that and we we work towards that why because in our lives men and women we are designed by God and we have mechanisms in place in our hearts and in our spirits and in our minds that whether it's fear whether it's waiting whether it's protecting whether it's providing doesn't matter what the situation is the truth is as we all deal with the unknowns and that is what makes us anxious it's what makes us to wonder why we are placed in that position and if I may I'll go a step further and I'm not trying to step on anybody's toes today but you take a moment now to pull them back but the truth is is it makes us feel out of control and if we're out of control we don't like it we all want to be in control of Our Lives don't we we all want to have control of the outcomes of our lives but many times we allow the unknowns listen to me to drive us into bad choices yeah rash decisions are made worse choices come along because we don't see the other side of the place where we stand we get anxious and we move and we shouldn't have moved or or we take something to heart and we shouldn't have done it and the fact of the matter is that you and I could ever realize that the unknown is not a death sentence it is a place to Simply wait if we could ever get a grip on the reality that even though we may not see the other side of a situation the god in which we serve does in fact see both sides God sees everything notice here Paul wrote to the church at Corinth in second Corinthians chapter 12 verse 7 says this and lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations there was given to me a thorn in my flesh the messenger of Satan to Buffet me lest I should be exalted above measure verse 8 for this thing I besought the Lord Thrice that it might depart from me and he said unto me listen to what he said my grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in weakness most gladly therefore I would rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ May rest upon me Paul wants to to not allow the influences of the world to touch somebody's life so therefore he has to teach them and instruct them what he learned was this that the grace that Jesus gives is from his hand and we listen carefully we are given every day the grace needed for that day the truth of the matter is though is many times because we have yet to receive the grace we need for tomorrow we will fret about tomorrow instead of reveling in the grace that we've received right now the fact is some of you are nervous about things in the future that you can no longer control than a man on the moon but because that Grace has yet to be released to you you are expending your Grace today worried about that what if you were to concern yourself more today about God's plan for the grace that he gave you for right now see I don't know how the end of this day is going to turn out but one thing I know is his grace is sufficient for this day when I get up in the morning the psalmist has already declared it he daily loads me with benefits but the fear the worry the waiting that you and I go through much of the time is because we want to know the end from the beginning therefore we thwart the process of Grace hang on to me a moment if you could simply trust that you know what I don't need a heads up about tomorrow I know the one who will be there when I arrive there I'm gonna believe him if I go through a valley if I go through a trial if something happens in my life I will not let it paralyze me but instead I will declare this is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad why because his grace for today works the problem is fear anxiety the inability to know throws us into a circle how many have ever known this is a good how many of you guys pay taxes in America come on the camera's on throw your hand up yeah that way we they know that you're not trying to get away from saying yeah there you go come on huh all right how many have filed your taxes for this year for 2022. yeah yeah yeah this is the coolest thing about every year this happens every my life it happened I don't know about you but every year I I look forward to tax time because a lot of it was my birthday one thing but anyway um actually it's Jayden's birthday but anyway the truth of the matter is you'll fill out your tax forms required and you'll get to that bottom line refund due and you send it off and this is what starts man I'm about to get 2146 dollars back what I'm gonna spend it on huh come on you just started before it ever shows up in your bank account oh y'all don't even I'm gonna give to the Lord yes will give to the Lord can I give somebody some insight Lord I don't want to get sidetracked here today if you've paid tithes all year on the top number of your paycheck guess what taxes means that means you've already paid tithe on that thank you very much Jesus now if you're paying your tithe on the bottom number come on he's gonna be standing there going are you going to trust me with it hear what I'm saying it's true now for the most part what do we all decide you know what it's all his anyway we go ahead and do that I just thought I'd throw that in for those of you questioning that we formulated a plan you know what I'm gonna spend that money on this year I'm going to spend it on this that and if there's a little extra I'll do this and that and we've planned for those things because why it's human nature as you and I sit in this room today y'all hear what the preacher says I can see on some of your faces this very action taking place right now hang on to me you get this far off look in your eyes some of it some of us call it daydreaming some of us call it dream dreaming your thoughts carry you to a place where you are formulating in your mind plans thoughts and ideas about stuff that is irrelevant to this moment but because you're stalled in your mind for just a moment and the preacher's too long or the song's not right or the moment is here you begin to formulate in your mind something I can see sometimes standing up here at this Podium or if I'm walking and pacing my Jericho mile over there I can look out across the room and some of y'all like to hear your hands there you go glory glory and others are Wednesday nights is really bad because you're sitting still am I right brother Robert you look out there and somebody else said get your phone out put your phone back because you're preoccupied about what ain't worried why you thought about it you might as well write it down you know my wife she's so she's so fun to be with sometimes she got a notepad by her on her nightstand I'm so glad she put that notepad there y'all wanna know why a long time ago she said honey remind me tomorrow to I'm like Kevin you don't talk about oh yeah like that's gonna happen I got you babe I'll remind you and two days later she honey I asked you to remind me how what was it I can't remember and I'm sitting there going Lord I'm gonna die I got no way I got no response it was something about somebody what was it well I just prayed about it baby and it went as the Lord took care of you know I'm saying no it's still right here Human Nature here's my question for today it's one o'clock for us clock Watchers what if God had something extra special for us as individuals as a church as a family but he wants us to wait for it what if God actually knew what he was doing because here's the thing about waiting on God whatever he wants for you to receive he knows already what he has to do to get it to that place and in the waiting for his promise to be fulfilled he is working things in his good listen to me carefully many times you will pray for something God I need an answer for this and the Lord says I've got an answer for you but if I gave it to you right now there would not be sufficient time for me to fulfill all the dots to get to this place you keep praying for it you keep asking you keep believing I want you to wait for just a moment listen friend if he truly knows you by name and he knows what you're about and he understands your mindset how you function and how you work then you better know that if he asks you to wait something's about to happen if he's giving you this hand stop one moment keep worshiping keep believing and loving but I'm over here doing something so that when I finish this it will connect with that and that will connect with this and then the answer will come to you like that if he gave it to you now there would be five things in the midst of all the other prayers going on that he would have to skip over and I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt my God don't make mistake to have to go back and fix them but instead he might say to you you've prayed for something wait you've prayed for something else wait you're still praying about it wait it's not like he's not listening he's simply moving things into play so that when the glory comes oh you can stand and say is I don't know how but he did it I'm not sure how but he did it I can't explain the why the what for and the what but I know that somehow he made a way somehow he made a way he's connecting the dots he's making things happen you don't believe it give me just a moment Acts chapter one come on this is Apostolic preaching today the former treaties I have made o Theophilus of all that Jesus began both to do and teach unto the day in which he was taken up after that he threw the Holy Ghost had given Commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen verse 3 to whom also he shoot himself alive after his Passion by many infallible proofs being seen of them 40 days speaking other things pertaining to the kingdom of God verse 4 and being assembled together with them command command commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the father when saith he ye have heard of me for John truly baptized with water but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence when they therefore will come together they ask of him saying Lord will thou at this time restore again the Kingdom of Israel he said unto them it is not for you to know the times or the season which the father had put in his own power but wait there's something happening there is a moving there is a shaking there is a disturbance if you will something is moving in the spirit world and he told him don't leave Jerusalem but go and wait now you and I know the after Story they gather it in the peruma 120 of them something began to happen when the time was right I've often wondered why didn't he just blow into that place on that Hillside that day why did he require them to go to an upper room on the day of Pentecost and gather together only thing I could think is that's how God does things I've got so many things that needs to happen if if you're standing on this Hillside and you watch me ascend and the spirit Falls there will be this many standing here watching but wait because when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were gathered in an upper room 120 were there that day and suddenly they're 10 days up there in the waiting 10 days up there in the tearing 10 days they're up there looking walking around why because the Lord Jesus knew through his infallible proofs I'm about to blow their mind with something they could not wrap their mind around if I would have blown on that Hillside that day many would have walked and said away and said didn't he do great things but when you've got to wait for the plan of God to unfold you can't deny it my God is in this mixture my God is in this wind the fire I see is God and when the tongues of fire sat upon each of them after the waiting they were all filled with the Holy Ghost it did not stop there but God knew exactly what he was doing get out of this upper room they staggered out onto the streets these men are drunk look at how they're partying and Peter stands up they're not drunk as you suppose but this is that we've been waiting on this for all of our lives why because God's timing is perfect God's time is perfect I want to help somebody today if you will allow me there was a promise given on that particular occasion wait for the promise of the father the promise given was there's a comforter that's going to come I I'm not the smartest guy nor the sharpest knife but I've come to tell you friend when I started looking at this word comforter I I mean I begin to wonder why in the world God even lets me in the house of God because this is what this is what the translated word would be there is a promise of the father of the comforter and the word that is there in the original would be for comforter would have been paraclete and the word paraclete according to its origin that stands for comforter is this by definition an advocate a comforter and a helper there is something going to happen to you when the Holy Ghost comes if you wait for the promise the original will tell you listen when you're human you already know there's sin and junk you're going to deal with you already know your failures faults the obstacles and the stuff that you're going to deal with as humanity and you already recognize that sin can wreak havoc on your life but if you don't know him as a comforter as a perfectly then you're not going to know him as your Advocate because you should die in that sin but the advocate said hold on a minute I'm gonna stand in the gap for this one why because he believes in me he's full of the power of the Holy Ghost he's gone down in baptism in the name of my name therefore I stand here you deserve to kill him you deserve to kill her but I'm standing here in this courtroom today to declare don't you do it why because I pay the price for their sin the Lord God knew you're going to be lost sometimes your heart's going to be broken sometimes as a human you're going to weep and cry and well you're going to need a paraclete to stand in and say I am your comfort why because your humanity and you can fall falter and fail but when you need a comforter I'm gonna be there at that moment the Lord Jesus Christ knew as humans that we would struggle and there would be times in our lives when we simply would not know what to do at that moment the paraclete would come in and say I am your helper I've come to help you along the journey see if Jesus would have simply blown into them that day on that Hillside they would have missed the whole blessing of the waiting now today we have live and in-person examples of this I found out just a few short weeks ago that our dear Dakota and Christian are expecting a child the word here is expecting so I asked Christian earlier today how's the baby good how do you know he or she is not here yet oh well I thought she was maybe no because let me tell you y'all every parent in here can say this you know what there's a whole lot of difference between this and this am I right Krista man you walk around like yeah you're laying on my gut today well I feel it now you know I don't know if I can eat more now but you get that baby here you ain't got a word Edge watch this I gotta take care of next move on here I don't know what to do instructions or nothing on this thing there ain't no books or nothing out there big difference but I come to tell somebody both times that we went through that in my family it was worth the waiting when that little guy came out squalling and screaming in my youth at that time I look at my wife and the only thing I could say is sweetheart it's a boy foreign fingers ten toes yeah baby it's a boy what are we gonna call him he's a junior he's the second and then Lauren oh the Lord knew we let her brother announce to the family out in the waiting room and you go tell him Stephen at almost three goes running out into the waiting room shoves through the door and says we got a Lauren he turns and runs back and I don't know why I tell you all that story because if that child Tim were to come at that soon boom boom there would have been no anticipation no expectancy no oh I don't know how I don't know what I'd worked frieverishly trying to finish the nursery and trying to get all the stuff together come on parents you know what I mean and then this child show up and I don't even know how to use a car seat yeah I don't know what y'all doing today anybody bought a car seat lately how much one of them cost like nine million dollars and some change uh you know for for Steven we had a box and duct tape come on buddy this is all you can get Lauren see Bubba's box get in oh the anticipation of waiting today I've come to help somebody recognize the fact that when God says to wait he is not telling you no he is simply letting you know that his plan is bigger for your life it is more than you could ever a Wonder or question but if you will wait how do you wait how is it in the waiting do you throw up your hands do you walk away no I tell you the safest place to wait is in an altar I'm gonna wait on you Jesus I'm not turning back now I'm not turned I'm gonna wait on you Jesus because in the waiting is where the answer comes in the waving is where the power comes and the waving is when the promise unfolds and the waiting is where God has you today some of you have been praying for things for months and years and it seems like it's not being heard come on there is power in waving and today I've come to tell you in the midst of your waiting in the midst of you standing here not sure what to do I declare to you the whole counsel of God in the midst of the darkness Worship in the midst of the daylight worship at the Midnight Hour Workshop when you don't know what else to do worship Don't Run Away don't question it don't walk don't get out of it just say Lord I'm gonna believe you for it if I got to stand here for a day if I gotta stand here for a month if I've got to stand and ask and plead with you for a year help me to do it why because in that waiting God is working and in his working it's going to be good thank you there was an anointing that fell in the upper room that day that literally turned the world upside down some would question the Bible gives reference to this a thousand times at least Jesus even made reference a couple of times and he said you know what this world is going to hate you because of my name Hate's a strong word isn't it they'll despise you they won't like you but believe it or not friend don't be silly enough to think it's about you because it's not it's about his name now to you and I that's appear strange does it not how is it that the world could be hateful against the only Power ful name that you and I know Jesus most of the time it's the unknown it's the fear it's the questions it's the waiting I've heard people brother I'll pray say before you know what I prayed for this it didn't happen how can God let these things happen and I'm standing here listening to that and I'm saying it's in the waiting if he's truly working things for your good then you've got to believe that in the waiting he's still still he's still working on that particular Day When Jesus ascended and left he said listen carefully don't leave Jerusalem but wait now we know there were some 500 gathered on the hillside that day right we know the history and then we know that the number dwindled down about 120 in the upper room we know that history the Bible even says specifically if you think you're exempt from this the Bible says specifically that the disciples men women gathered in the upper room so it affects everybody I wonder sometimes if that Upper Room actually held 500 but in the waiting started walking when it finally came down to the group that waited until everything was done 117 y'all still good listen the Lord God knew exactly what he was doing Kevin he knew enough to say before I release this I need that one to walk past that road to get onto that sidewalk to move in this direction because they're about to see something happen and it won't be a moment too soon it's in the waiting wait wait fall suddenly finish that one rounds the corner looks up I was putting this together today and I was reminded of our dear brother missionary brother McBride that was here a couple months ago anybody remember him what's the name of that country I'm all over Montezuma Moldova next to Ukraine his story was that night his standing in a park there's a group of us lifting our hands and just loving the Lord in this town in this place in this park at this moment and he told us that night y'all remember this there's an old fella sitting over on a bark park bench looking to get something starts easing his way towards them he said we just and he he's in his way towards us and he said all we're doing is just we come to pray over this town we come to Worship in this city and he said I keep watching and this guy's he said I'm not sure if he's KGB or LMNOP or what he said I'm just nervous but we're here just loving the Lord and he said finally the old gentleman walks up and says excuse me you might remember this excuse me what are y'all doing he said we're here to worship Jesus huh come here this park today to pray over the city to Worship the Lord he said the old fellow standing there in tears well up in his eyes y'all remember this and he began to weep and he said for 26 years I have prayed for this day that God would reveal himself to this city and I stand here today 26 years worth of Prayer to say thank you for coming 26 years brother Daniel God sent fire for my kids sent a holy ghost anointing for my grandchildren so God may not have even understood nothing that was going on only thing he knew was there was something bigger than him something greater than him and for 26 years he would gather every day every now whatever it was and he would pray God send hope I was reminded today of the power of waiting guys I want you to know something today there's power in the process of a promise process of the promise where you and I sit today never in a million years would I have thought 20 or 15 years ago that my wife and I would be sitting in this warehouse today You Beautiful Folk people online connected to Cornerstone they come and just love the Lord it's in the weighty I'm believing for great outpouring in our city are you it's in the waiting refused to wait with my arms crossed I refuse to wait with my leg cross sitting here saying Lord if you will do no I refuse to wait that way what am I going to do I'm going to occupy till he comes I want to be found in an altar I'm going to be found hands lifted up I'm going to be found thinking of the goodness of God I'm going to be talking about it I'm still going to pray for my food I'm still going to pray for my work I'm still going to pray for my family I'm still going to pray for our church I'm still going to believe God I know that it's going to happen I don't know how what when or why but I know this that heaven is still in view therefore there is still time Lord God to work for you there is still something out there happening God I'm believing that what we are seeing across our nation across the globe is not something that's a splash in the bucket but I'm believing that God is rising up a church that'll say in the midst of the hunger and the desire of humanity truth is going to come through why because the fear and the doubt and the question can be pushed aside when truth shows up I know why I'm here why because I have a voice and I've got to lift this voice under the Lord God I'm may not understand the ways of the world and the things of this Society but I've come to tell you I do know my God and he's able to supply all my need I do know his voice and he can speak in the darkness I do know his spirit and he can move when nothing else is moving why because in the waiting God is working come on if you believe it today get on your feet and love the Lord God I believe you're working in my life I believe you are working in my life there is power in the process of the promise while I wait I will work I will watch I will believe you for it this altar's open right now somebody in here is hungry for more of God you come right now to this altar you bring every care you've got and you say Lord in the waiting process I'm gonna lay it on an altar I'm gonna give it to you and I'm going to trust you God and the outcome will be exactly the way you designed it to be come on this altar is open today no matter what you're facing it'll matter what's going on yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's in the way it's while you're waiting there is a promise that is unfolding into a process that will declare in the end itself to be done in the name of Jesus come on worshipers rise up right now I'm gonna believe you for it love God I'm gonna trust you for it Jesus oh God I'm gonna trust you for it come on I know God you know where I am today Jesus you know where I make my mistakes you know my faults and my failures I will pray I will believe you for great things well come on somebody pray right now oh that's right come on there is power in the wages that's right that's right that's right I'm moving forward in here that's right come on there is power in the process of his promises it's coming together that's right that's right that's right believe God for great things believe God for great things come on get a hold of somebody pray with them right now that's right trade with somebody right now oh God only you can move mountains no way I'm right in the middle of the process don't let me quit now don't let me throw in the town oh Jesus today Lord I run to you today Lord I hunger for you I'm believing you God I'm trusting you foreign yeah yeah that's right come on believe for it believe foreign the word of God is yea and amen it doesn't lie I believe you're foreign Lord I believe you for it Jesus that's right come on pray come on get a hold of God I need you today hunger for you I'm not turning back down across still working wait on your Lord that's right come on come on Reach Out pray with somebody let Faith grow right now let Faith grow right now Jesus you've got to work what you're doing you've got to work God you're doing you've got to work Lord that you do Hallelujah come on you know he's right you know he's real waving brings completeness to the process now this is how we're going to pray at the end of this service listen carefully the greatest challenge you face as an individual as a family as a church whatever the greatest challenge as humans that we face is our trust trusting God in the process come on you're seeking answers you're seeking you want God to work but you're trusting him through the process is the greatest challenge so before you leave here I want you to get up next to somebody and we're going to pray one for another that the Lord God would give us a Revival of trust Lord let our trust grow today that we would simply believe you Lord come out pray for your neighbor right now Lord let trust work right now honor their trust Lord to believe you for great things let the word of God take root in their heart Lord God as they begin to trust you let them Trust You Lord in the good times let them trust in you Lord in The Bad Times let them trust in you Jesus when they can see and when they can't see oh God come on pray Lord help my brother today to trust in you help my sister today God to trust you great things come to those who will trust in the promise of the Lord great greats today in this house in the name of Jesus come on pray Somebody Pray the prayer of faith God increase their confidence in you their trust in the word their trusting your plan for their lives hey yeah yeah his word come on say it just too soon amongst just to know you know this one Jesus Jesus Jesus him oh Lord Jesus pray our time together in the house of God such an important time for us Lord the assembling together I thank you Lord for the Psalms that we sing I thank you Lord for the prayers that have been prayed the faith that has been exercised today I thank you Lord that there is strength and power in the waiting Lord that you are working all the details out I plead your blood over us this week God go with us Monday night Tuesday night Wednesday night Thursday Friday Saturday every day of this week Lord we expect great things from you you are the prayer answering God there are promises Lord that have yet
