wonderful songs of zion we have called on your name jesus in faith we have prayed for the sick we have given to you lord god our tithe and offering right now lord we come to you hungry for the word to change us and to have its way in our lives one more time lord i make myself available to you i so desperately need you today anoint us oh god in the word let us find favor today jesus in you i plead your blood over this room right now i plead the blood of jesus over every broken heart right now every life lord god that's in this room that's online watch and i i plead the blood of jesus over them watching hey man i honor you for that very interesting is our time don't you agree things happening so quickly in our generation alone just in our generation give me just a few i know i i wax eloquent many times on on the past and the present because i feel like that's very important to us our grandparents witnessed the invention of the automobile our parents saw the first walk on the moon and we have accepted in our day and age a handheld computer as the way of life isn't it interesting how things have changed every generation watches things like that unfold as people get smarter and they try more and they invest more and research describes more and so then they get deeper and deeper into things and there's always going to be a thing a device if you will something that is invented to help us to be a better person or a better worker or have a better way of life i am certain that if our grandparents were great-grandparents were still alive many of them would be saying the same thing i was glad when they built the car and i didn't have to walk anymore i was glad when we had indoor plumbing and i didn't have to go to the outhouse on and on and on it goes things are developed and invented to make things better now the fact is we talk a whole lot around here in our church we talk about guidelines and limits and things like that things that you have to actually put into place listen to this carefully as you accept or deny the information that is presented to you right for an example no somebody's going to walk out of here mad today but i'm going to help you not everything posted online is true i know and if i could today i would tell you everything that is true i could just point it out but i i don't have that ability i did find out recently that the earth is indeed flat and i'm surprised because just this past week i saw sunsets and around it anyway but maybe it's flat what do i know you can post anything out there you know that truth is and today's culture you don't even have to be honest and truthful about it right you just put it out there and there's the computer and that's the mindset and so forth it's it's the day in which we are alive we have to do the best though as moms and dads and grandparents and churches and so forth we have to do the best we can to teach our kids that there is still truth out there you have to know what you're looking for is that all right only because not all truth is really truth some of it's based solely on the lie that was believed at the beginning then it became truth because of what was done after the fact but in the year 2022 listen to me carefully information is very valuable information by definition information is basically knowledge communicated or received about a certain task or an item knowledge everybody say knowledge information when you receive information that information goes in and it gives you some knowledge about some things did you guys realize that at 212 degrees something happens to water at 32 degrees something else happens to that same water knowledge and you know that and so you wrap your mind around that because then you test it out has anybody here ever been burned on a stove that was not turned on no but turn the stove on what happens learn the lesson with all the knowledge with all the information that we have in our culture there are still things that we have to concern ourselves about just this past week just an example and i was on out of town this week visiting family out on the west coast it's a story for another day but um the particular area of the country in which we were visiting there there's a lot of history there and i i of course i enjoy history very much there's a mission that is built there uh outside of carlsbad between oceanside and carlsbad uh built in the late 17th mid to late 1700's hundreds and we walked through that church that mission and it was established in that area to bring religion to the indians of the then known world we walked through the buildings and onto the grounds into the cemetery and so forth there and i was reminded one more time through that historical account that i was standing in of how very frail and fragile that life is you're here a moment and then you're gone you're here and you're doing and then it kind of fades you've got the strength and the energy and then it it kind of dwindles away i was reminded then that as time changes things and and life has a way of pulling at the threads that you have been establishing the why and the what force challenge because truth is questioned and you're not really sure how the future will unfold or how things will happen at that moment you then have to have something that you build your life upon because they're listen to there are future generations that are depending on what you present to them as truth the why and the what for is still very valid you need to know some things y'all with me today that is why when you look into the past you discover the mistakes and the problems and some of the issues that they had aren't you thankful today that they did not write about everything in the past i'm very very interested in alexander graham bell but i'm thankful that i don't know all of the things that he tried can we get to the good stuff i'm thankful today that that we had people that walked on the moon but all of the attempts prior to that as interesting as they are what do we want we want the highlights of the event now i think that we will agree that it's really hard to tell how the future is going to turn out until you begin to look at the history and where you've come from for an example 2022. this is something as i watched walked this week on on the beach out there on the west coast that it came to my mind i began to look at it i wonder what they will remember will remember 2022 by will they remember in the ages to come 2022 will we only go down in the history books because of the quantity of starbucks in our day that's one example will we be thought of of as geniuses because we drove sport utility vehicles that were powered by electricity get this electricity josh is that how they'll know us wow there was a geniuses back there they drove these vehicles that ran on fossil fuel really the great question from the great great grandkids will be what's a fossil whatever culture whatever society whatever unit if you will of people that you want to look at the fact is is that history will determine the future sadly there are many things that have been forgotten details of past things and and battles and things that were fought situations that came the why and the how of how things were done those were forgotten in fact 2022 another point that i can you all may know this i don't know if you don't know it then allow me to introduce you there's a restaurant chain in our great united states of america called cracker barrel see all the young folk went and all the old folks church the greatest attempt of an older folk taking a younger folk to cracker barrel is what hey daddy what is that up on the wall i i use drawn i'll tell you there's a stick up there with a pointy thing on the end and my son said dad what's that thing well i'm glad you asked um it's called a conflaps you app they were used in the late eighteen i mean what are you gonna say you know that i mean cracker bell is great for this i always go in there and say wow look at that thing or look at that thing you know come on mom and dad you want to tell your kids something don't you there's nothing worse than to ask your parents a question and then say oh you didn't even try why is the sky blue oh here we go why is water wet how do you know it's wet have you ever been underwater how'd you know you were wet i always y'all are looking at me like i'm weird because i am but the fact of the matter is this we teach and we explain things to our children because we want them to understand how things were done does anybody even know how to darn a sock you know what it was called you sewed up a sock i'm gonna darn these oh lord i'm in such a young church help me jesus okay okay does anybody know what a coffee pot is let's start there all right aaron we got you gotcha okay and you know you can make those things at home right our kids are sitting at the table in cracker barrel and when they ask me what something is on the wall guess what they do they don't ask me they say hey siri and good old siri speaks up what you are asking is no longer in the no i'm joking come on when we look at the situation and where we are today so much information we have to sift through it and then we have to decide design and just decipher and we have to come up with a way in which we can explain it to somebody to have as much knowledge as they can have it because information is power and if you can understand something and a concept and a precept then you can keep it just people and people will look at you and they will say wow this guy has his act together allow me if you will anybody want to bring the bible in today's message let's do that old testament mentions a very profound event that took place the guy's name was nehemiah everybody say nehemiah nehemiah was an old governor everybody say governor nehemiah of the jews during the 400 to 500 bc time frame he was the one that worked with king artaxeros of persia god's people had been run over they were under siege the persians had come in they had destroyed jerusalem it had fell the wall was torn apart and here nehemiah hears this and the king's looking at him saying what in the world are you upset about and the bible says in this particular story this historical account in nehemiah 1-1 the words of nehemiah the son of hekalia and it came to pass in the month chi salute the 20th year i was in shushan the palace that hannah and then i excuse me one of my brethren came he and a certain men of jude and i asked them concerning the jews that had escaped which were left of the captivity and concerning jerusalem verse 3 they said unto me the remnant that were left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach the wall of jerusalem also is broken down and the gates thereof are burned with fire it came to pass when i heard these words that i sat down and i wept and mourned certain days fasted and prayed before the god of heaven nehemiah wept he was upset his heart was broken the accounts that he got of what had happened there hear this the history of what had transpired in jerusalem broke his heart the king's looking at him what is going on here he knew the old stories of the old ways nehemiah did he knew the history of his people nehemiah did yet now there are no city walls there are no real people simply a remnant to speak of and these things looking into the past let him to know nehemiah the future looks terrible for the people of god but i've come today to tell you as the thin in the heart of nehemiah something came to him a near impossible situation i feel like i need to rebuild the walls of my city an impossible feat yes but god was working in the heart and the life of nehemiah we all know the story why because when they came under the umbrella of the king of that day the walls an incredible 52 days nehemiah and his men built the walls of jerusalem a trial in one hand and a sword in the other i'm here to work and i'm here to war i'm here to work some more and i'm here to war some more i'll do whatever i can do to protect what's going on here i'll die over here but i'll work over here in 50 plus days they built it once the walls were put back y'all hang on the preacher for a moment nehemiah chapter number 8 verse 9 nehemiah which is the tarshish that and ezra tarshish is the governor and ezra the priest of the scribe and the levites that taught the people said unto all the people this day is holy unto the lord your god mourn not nor weep for all the people wept when they heard the words of the law then verse 10 he said unto them go your way eat the fat drink the sweet send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared for this day is holy unto our lord neither be sorry for the joy of the lord is your strength after they put the walls back after they put the gates back after they reestablish the things of god this word came from god through nehemiah to the people stop crying and weeping it's time now to be joyful in what god has done our history was torn down true but when we went back to the historical books we brought the why and the what for forward we begin to work and to put it back together he told them the joy of the lord knowing that god has been with you will strengthen you in your time hear what i'm saying today this is the part of history that literally changed the future stop weeping crying no more over what was lost but you go in god's restoration and you see that you give thanks for all that he has done notice this friend notice nehemiah chapter 8 verse 14 they found written in the law which the lord had commanded by moses history that the children of israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities and in jerusalem saying go forth under the mount fetch olive branches pine branches myrtle branches palm branches branches of thick trees to make booths as it is written verse 16 so the people went forth and brought them made themselves booths every one upon the roof of his house in their courts in the courts of the house of god and in the street of the watergate in the street of the gate of ephraim what was happening at this point is history was coming forth and what nehemiah spoke to the people moses wrote about it in the old law you go to the mountain and you build shelters booths they were called this was all part of the feast they had to sleep under these booths for seven days during this time and the whole purpose for it was to remember where god had delivered and brought them from they were to live under these branches they were to live on their rooftops instead of in the comfort of their home they were to come out why because mom and dad grandma and grandpa were teaching to the generations coming up this is what they had to go through therefore we'll remember it it was all a part of the command of god stay with me stay with me god had placed in the heart of nehemiah the desire to rebuild and to restore the blessings of god the blessings that god had given unto the people of god now was the time to rejoice in the memory of god's provision history will do that to you i've come to ask somebody on this sunday afternoon can you go back into your mind and remember the goodness of the lord the time that he spared your life the time that it came through when everybody else walked away the time that he healed your body when you didn't have the money to go see a doctor who would lie over you anyhow does anybody here remember the goodness of the lord when they gave you left you for death but the word of god came and lifted you up i ask you today is there anybody that recalls the blessings of god how good god has been to you the time you should have died in a car wreck but the hand of the lord protected you the time you should have starved to death but the blessing of god was on your life is there anybody today that'll say god has been good to me god raised me up when i was down he delivered me when i was in bondage he set me free oh come on if god's been good to you give him praise a time to remember the good things of god who now sit down a man i'm gonna go forward have a little bit you let me new testament time to remember god was doing great and notable work to his people in his people with his people there was born in the city of david a savior christ the lord his name come on y'all know it say it with me jesus yo y'all didn't say it with me come on say it with me jesus turn to your neighbor said his name is jesus elbow somebody say speak the name jesus that was the divine design of god heaven sent if you will oh what great things he came to accomplish with his people he did all of that so that he could literally change everything you notice what he said when he stood the day and read the scrolls the scrolls of old today i have come to fulfill what is in the scroll after jesus walked on planet earth after he did all the miraculous things that he did notice something happened the people if you will had come in one more time into the city of jerusalem for the feast time of passover and it was at that moment when they heard that jesus was coming in they had come to the city to pro to have fast over time pass over time excuse me to have a time together they were to build in the city they were to make sure that they passed history along to the following generation notice what happened in john chapter 12 verse 12 on the next day much people were come to the feast when they heard that jesus was coming into jerusalem they took branches of palm trees went forth met him oh here it cried hosanna blessed is the king of israel that cometh in the name of the lord hosanna blessed is the one hosanna here now hosanna right here they took the same branches that nehemiah had drawn back from where moses had talked to them and they began to wait why brother herb because jesus came to restore the right things under the people of god therefore they came running out on the street waving palm branches don't you think for one moment that it was just something that happened ain't nothing ever just happened with god you wonder why you took a right today instead of a left gods in that you wonder why this last week was so treacherous god was in that come on the guy in the new testament said in everything give him thanks the good the bad the ugly the terrible the mistake the up the down give him thanks why because he is in control today the sunday prior to easter on your fancy schmancy calendar in your fancy schmancy smartphone it probably says y'all thought that was just a cool word high five jesus palm oh don't you ever think when it's connected to him that it's minuscule and minute see what moses was told by the voice of god you need to make sure that they remember they remember some of our problem in 2022 allow me to be a little forward here if you will i love you and i'm reaching for you part of our problem in this age is our members are broke and our remembering machines have been shut down and overtaken with our phones you can ask siri right now siri how good has god been to me she won't have a clue i'm going to tell you right now if she has a clue you better change siri siri when did god heal my body siri's gonna say um um way about that now i think it'd be cool honestly brother daniel if siri could answer my mind is so terrible i just wonder i mean if you could go home right now alexa how good has god been to me and all of a sudden why willy on the organ tear he woke you up this morning he started you on yo he put breath in your body come on you want to stand in your kitchen and rejoice but instead we forget the goodness of god in our life and we establish who we are today by our own faults and our own failures i come to tell somebody today is the day that you need to remember the hand of the lord is all hey what happened what happened this worship was restored true worship was restored why because when you remember the good things of god worship is restored and you realize i've come today hosanna hosanna come now hosanna hosanna blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord our god come to the music would you help me give me some false hope stand with me listen to me carefully every time oh i i know i'm i'm getting older my gray hair is running over everywhere i wouldn't got my hair cut last week excuse me a week before yeah i spend more time on the hair inside than outside come on yo fellas you know what i'm talking about he's over there that's just my ear yeah give me a minute you want your eyebrows cut do you think i need them so i'm back i'm back a little ways i'm i'm going back now i got a ipad i've got a cell phone i've got a computer i got i got those things i enjoy technology i install in a lot of places but one thing that i have discovered as i get older i probably enjoy the quiet more than anything because my remember works best when the distractions of the world are gone understand the time in which jesus was coming into jerusalem chaos questions they have literally had their world messed up because this jesus came i mean he's walking into funerals and they're coming out with celebrations he's walking huh he's walking up in a herd of people who ain't got nothing to eat and they're all leaving they're saying man they can sure put a spread on he came in and just by walking down the street somebody touched him and oh stops who touched me now i believe because he's jesus he knew her i need your followers to look for because if you look around y'all going to see who touched me not by what i just said but by what y'all start to do to her there's a oh y'all get me sidetracked now there's this lady sitting there saying it was me and all those around what'd they say you can't ask that all these folk around here who you mean who touched me well how we supposed to know that he gave him one word clue virtue right truth correctness moved well who would that have been ain't that a shame for a person of god to say who would that be but this little lady spent every dime she had on this problem she had in her blood she's the one who had to speak up and say it was me who oh god help me today i've come today to ask somebody what is it going to take to get your worship restored put back to its place how much more does god need to do for you in you to you to who you love to the things that you have how much more are you waiting on before you would completely sell out and say lord come that's what hosanna means come now come now come now we we're waiting on you come back come now jesus come now blessed is he that comes in the name of the lord our god blessed is he who come now it was the same voices who got they got so distracted within a couple of days that they changed their cry crucify him kill him crucify him do the most cruel inhumane thing that you can think of why because they forgot past taken them to the future so it's 2022 i'll ask you this way is there anybody here today that will recognize the fact that somehow through some experience or something in life your worship has been affected some of y'all i love you you know i don't reach it for you some of us in this room we have begun to play church if i can just get there and look pretty then i'm okay the fact of the matter is the lord said nothing at all gonna be pretty here except when i get there because in and of yourself you have nothing but if you'll get there and you'll get me there there is something about the beauty of holiness drawing close to him some of y'all need to worship him today in the beauty of holiness lord i'm coming to you we learn about today in our discipleship class holiness is direct reflection of your relationship with god as you get closer he becomes brighter every sunday you ought to be hungry lord i'm coming to you this is worship i love you i'm so tired of the distractions i'm so tired of me and everybody i just want you because if i can if i can fix this then all of this will get better i feel like today in this place somebody that's hungry for worship unto the lord are you willing to wave a branch to him in the midst of the feast blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord jesus jesus jesus anybody will go back and remember how good god's been to you it ought to make you run as fast as you can to this altar in worship lord i've come to bless you lord i've come to love you lord i've come to give you praise come on ought to make you run here knowing that the protection in the hand of god has been on your life come on true worshipers true worshipers come on worship restore jesus i've come to love you worship christian come on this altar is a place of worship today jesus i've come hungry for you i've come lord looking for you come on make it worth your while you're in the altar come on young person raise your hands to him come on children raise your hands to him mom and dad throw your hands to him lord i've come to love you i worship you today for who you are oh that's right i worship you today jesus because of who you are take advantage of the altar today it's a place of sacrifice it's a place of worship it's a place to pour it out it's the place to make it right it's the place to connect with him it's a place to connect with him come on in the name of jesus you ought to get to this altar right now spend time with the master i've come to love you i've come to worship you i've come to lift up your name jesus i've come to magnify your name mighty god hallelujah to the lamb of god i've come to worship you jesus help me to remember the good days the blessings the miraculous lord god help me lord to realize how good you are to me that's right come on the name of jesus the name of jesus that's right left your voice to the lord yes yes yes i lift you up oh restore my worship hallelujah he's your protection you'll ever need and so much more yes remind me lord god of your goodness let me remember lord your grace of somebody close to you that your prayers connect with theirs right now jesus come on everybody need somebody to pray with right now jesus only you can satisfy the heart of man only you can work the miraculous only you can protect our children only you can do the miracles love only you can jesus oh that's right come on come on run into his presence hosanna come now hosanna blessed is this blessed is he that's right oh that's right come on hello the bends that you've spoken told since the holy ghost how long depends that you've rejoiced in the lord that's right nehemiah told them the joy of the lord is your strength rejoice in here rejoice in jesus i love you lord i believe in you jesus i trust in you god i trust in you jesus i give you glory i give you honor i give you i bless you jesus i worship you holy god great is your faithfulness great as your faithfulness foreign oh that's right come on let's stand in this presence hello all the glory jesus holy god yes holy god jesus jesus jesus jesus jesus jesus jesus my jesus jesus jesus worship unto him on this sunday prior to easter sunday don't ever forget the goodness of the lord don't ever forget the grace and the love and the mercies of the lord now i realized we could all wax eloquent on history and the things that went on but i often wonder they cried out palm branches branches hosanna a few days later crucify a month and a half later men and brethren what shall we do i i wonder see the um get started the feast of pentecost was established because of the booths festival of feasts feast of festivals it was 50 days seven weeks the sunday after the day after the seven weeks passover pentecost would come what happened on the day of pentecost anybody when the day of pentecost was fully come see how that connects tell me god don't know what he's doing elbow your neighbor say god's right god's right let's pray together lord thank you for our time together today thank you lord jesus for the promises of what has happened can be with us today can carry us to the next generation the next generation the next generation the promise is lord as you said unto you samaria jerusalem judea all that are far off even as many as the lord your god shall call and that generation lord is still here we hunger for you we thirst for you i thank you lord for our time together today so thankful lord that your spirit and truth is present here i pray lord a blessing upon every heart and every home every family every life that's in this room this week lord go with us walk with us talk with us tomorrow night we're going to gather for all church prayer lord on our homes and our altars wednesday night we're going to come back lord and we're going to learn and then we're going to remember break bread together partake of communion the next sunday lord we're coming back it's resurrection sunday whoo the tomb is no longer full but the tomb is empty you overcame death hell in the grave just for us next week we're coming back to talk about the cross of christ and the power of a risen savior jesus be with us and keep us i plead your blood over every single one of us let our testimony this week be how good that you've been to us and let us share that with others the name of jesus we pray somebody say in jesus name
