Worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness

we are Contin uing our study this will be the last of um understood last week that this made a difference with the camera so I won't do that this time or my glasses were sitting out here um this is the last of our sessions accelerate it's time to take the foot off the break and hit the accelerator hit the gas let's move forward that's what we're doing every week every month we have a different topic and then every week of course we follow that topic this month we have uh studied worship um to me it's been very very revealing if you will very for me very good uh great information I always enjoy going back to origin of words and purposes and why they're there we've looked at different aspects of moving forward with Jesus in particular we have focused our attention on worship and praise when we understand of course the principles and the power of those principles that we receive in the word of God then we are better equipped to handle questions to handle quiet time with the Lord what exactly does that mean what does it mean to praise what does it mean to worship um all of us each one of us we are simply we're Sinners that have been changed by the blood of Jesus aren't you thankful for that so I believe that we need to understand worshiping him and praising him I think that that's that's very important the Bible of course is our road map on how we should live every day and every week every year uh we we did spend one of our sessions talking about the Shaka which is worship that's laying before the Lord flat out in front just hands up face down humbly before him seeking him um uh it's it's submission it's a position of not you but him right that's worship then we look also into different types of Praise with hands up and shout dance music singing What Not several different types of praise and then we talked about the communing with God in your worship and praise and how that it affects you and talked about everyday life in worship and how that you can see the effects of living that kind of a life tonight to end this series I want to look at at something else let's go to the book of Chronicles the first one first Chronicles chapter number 16. while you're turning there allow me to state next month the month of September on our Wednesday night lessons we will be talking about Doctrine through the month of September each Wednesday night we'll cover different aspects of that I encourage greatly parents make sure your teenagers and your pre-teens are here I want them in the room they can learn and take notes they can they can get some information about what it means to have doctrine that all right that begins next week and through the month of September that's where we will be first chronicles 16 29 given to the Lord the glory due unto his name what's it say bring an offering come before him Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness Worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness help me out somebody what do you think it means Beauty of holiness in this particular setting Chronicles of course if you know anything about Bible History the Chronicles are basically the writings of the Kings this would be this the The Establishment that the scribes wrote when the king would give commands when he would give laws when he would give songs whatever it happened to be what does it mean the beauty of Holiness someone anyone at all living okay we'll take it someone else okay all right when it says to Worship the Lord and the beauty of Holiness somebody else Beauty holiness okay we'll take that someone else or Purity reverent okay beauty of Holiness anyone else the love of the Lord yeah the love of Jesus someone else Worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness what does that mean the beauty of holiness art for him sacred very good thank you all for used to because I got all the definitions from y'all uh Beauty let's go there let's go there beauty Beauty by definition the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasure pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit there's your definition that's Webster's Beauty the quality qualities in a person Beauty something that is pleasurable according to this now you and I let's pause a moment here to to speak a little bit about this it seems that when we look at the term Beauty in our human minds and in our in our human way of thinking we consider it to basically be like like beauty is a physical makeup of something have you ever heard the term beauty is in the eye of the beholder that's the southern way to say it the beholder uh beauty is in the eye of the beholder what's that mean beauty is beauty Simply Skin Deep I mean he's ever ever seen something ugly say that's that's so ugly it's pretty Seth you can't yeah okay set points to himself um beauty of course according to the definition the beauty of Holiness when I went through and I began to look at this term I'm I'm finding out that it is not at all what we in 2023 to consider what is beauty uh there's more than one way that a person or a thing can be seen or perceived um Beauty if it is indeed in the eye of the beholder then you have to ask yourself what are you looking at looking for looking towards when you say that something is beautiful husbands you you can look right here they had a trouble tonight right how do you look at a thing at a person how do you respond to them you you husbands out there have you ever been asked by your lovely bride how does this look on me and how do you respond Tim go ahead give us one of your definite beautiful yeah this there it is right Logan best yeah come on Ethan look it's just fainted yeah anybody want to help me do what I didn't hear what you said you said he thought she oh she looked faint yeah that's it brother rod um okay only reason I went there is because our minds as humans many times we are sidetracked with that and we want to consider beauty of Holiness to be something that if it doesn't match our definition then it makes it questionable you know what the guys there's a world full of folk today that are looking for beauty agreed and the truth of the matter is is you'll never find true beauty until you understand who made you now we're going to begin here talking about this worship that is mentioned here Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness fact of the matter is the beauty of holiness is about perception of presentation stay with me a moment when you understand that worshiping the Lord takes all the aspects of your mind soul Spirit your heart and you recognize the true meaning of what it is to allow the power of God to work in your life you translate that in your heart and in your mind to be when I am living for the Lord when I come before him and I bring my offering as was mentioned here by the king when I give glory to his name and I worship him I am looking at him through the best possible Vision that I can now I'll ask this question and you'll have a very quick response does anybody here feel like the Lord is unfair to you do you ever do you ever feel like that he he's ugly to you because he didn't come through didn't follow through with something that you thought he should have now none of us would admit that we say yeah yeah I was but have you ever been frustrated because things didn't turn out the way you thought well you may not have said to God you're ugly or I'm mad at you or I'm angry at you but what you did hold on to me what you did though is it stymied your worship you found it more challenging to lift your hands and just worship him and what happened then in your disgruntled attitude and whatnot as you begin to develop if you will a holy attitude now Lord if you really really wanted me to be blessed you would have let me have that car well that job would have been mine Lord if if you really cared about me I would have I would have done or whatever it is and you know I I don't mind saying I have prayed and prayed when I was in school I'd pray over test and I didn't pass them and I'm like yeah Lord I prayed about it where was you you should have been God in my hand instead of B I should have done C Lord that had been so easy for you to give to me come on don't I'm not the only foolish one here some of us man we travailed for a test when we were in school oh we can come back with a 71 you know how'd I do that that's easy you didn't study I wanted to blame them isn't that silly but Church the world is full of people that used to love the Lord and trust him and then something didn't happen the way they thought and they walk away from God it's the same attitude when we declare here for an example what was declared here is you Worship the Lord and the beauty of Holiness you decide how much how far how deep how wide How Majestic how great and how glorious that you want for your God to be and then you demonstrate that to him come on if you want God to be a good God why don't you be a good person you want God to be right in your life try to be right in in his eyes well what happens to the righteous what happens to those that serve the Lord many times a relationship but oh Lord don't let me guess many times our relationship with God is one sided we want him to be very good and then we struggle with just simple good huh now stay with me look another example tonight I want to talk about notice Matthew we'll go to New Testament now Matthew chapter number two verse number 11 and when they were coming to the house they saw the young child with Mary his mother fell down worshiped him when they opened their Treasures they presented unto him gifts gold frankincense and myrrh this is another way that worship was declared the scripture reveals that um to Worship the Lord and the beauty of Holiness that's a way to worship God is understand his value and his power and his presence in your life and give him all the honor and glory to him in this story in Matthew 2 who are we reading about who Jesus this is the story of the birth of the Christ child here's the question in worshiping what do we give unto the Lord in our worship what do we allow ourselves to give unto him we spoke a few weeks ago about that sacrifice and knowing for an example when Abram went to the mountain to sacrifice his son he understood we're going to go sacrifice we're going to go worship but we'll come back the two were connected we understand that so here's the question if I may in closing out this series on worship is is what is then your gift to God some some would like to to believe and some would even teach and and tell others that you know Salvation is free you don't have to to bring anything and the truth of the matter is is that's a fact you didn't go to Calvary he did that all right he paid a price on a cross for you his blood which he died when in the grave for you and I look at your neighbor say for you but there's something that's required of us concerning that sacrifice and what is it we have to respond to what he did and we do that by doing what by holding back by not surrendering by wrapping our arms around everything we have and holding on to it is that true what do we have to do You Gotta Give but what if it's all messed up broken and full of sin he said I got you I took all your sin and I died with it I need you to let go of it now listen to me if that's the case and the God of all creation said I loved you before you even knew me I gave my life for you because I know that you need salvation so here's the question when these Wise Guys found out that there was going to be a birth of a king they spent months and months and months traveling and in all the roads that they traveled and all the places listen to me carefully they never lost sight of the reason for their Journey they were looking for a king and when they came listen to me they didn't bring them a hot dog and a bag of chips they brought gold frankincense and myrrh the most expensive and exquisite things that they could possibly bring so some of you tonight May sit here and say well Pastor I thought I thought that I just need to bring myself and then the Lord will provide and give all this stuff back to me yeah that's fine until what I'm sorry but we we may live in a generation that thinks that God's their sugar daddy but that's not at all the case not at all the case I find myself often recognizing and realizing just how frail and messed up I am and if it had not been for the Lord Jesus in my life I would have and be nothing it would be a shame for me to teach the Next Generation look if you have a need of something just ask the Lord and he'll give it to you abundantly come on we get all of our verses all mixed up he is able to give exceeding and abundantly huh come on we get all the verses mixed up Thou shalt not covet Thy Neighbor stuff in vain I mean we need to get them all to fit us brother Rob don't we we're good at that huh now don't the Bible say something about turning the cheeks around and I'm amazed sometimes that people's ability to misquote the scriptures mama said you climb the Bible said clown the mountain and he'll be here if they're too foregone it did say that I don't know which Bible but there was one I'm sure listen to me listen to me when these Wise Guys traveled for months and months miles and miles and miles they came and the Bible says specifically they worshiped him by bringing him Treasures stuff they held of high esteem they considered to be valuable so I'm going to ask you tonight on this last session of worship what's valuable to you right now that you possess that you need to give to him I worship you with this Lord maybe maybe it's your dreams and your hopes maybe it's your visions and your your desires for your family maybe it's your family maybe it's the money that you're trying to maybe it's your I don't know what it is but laying it before the Lord in worship says to him I humbly submit it all to you Worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness that means recognizing just how wonderful it is to worship him in the right way and then second example I give to you is when you bring your very best to the Lord and you give it to him the indication here is we should do all that we need to do to find Jesus and when we find him we worship Him and when we worship him listen we give to him our very best to you and I again there there once was a time in our not too far distant past that people would go to church and they would wear their ready for it Sunday go to meeting close anybody anybody remember those huh let me ask you a question for you Old-Timers someday go to meet in close does that mean after church you could play in your Sunday go to meet and close what did you have to do you better know it and if you wore your church shoes out on the playground using big trouble why that's your church shoes huh those are the hand-me-downs you're gonna have to pass to the next anyway you you respect it and you understood that there was indeed a difference and you honored that how you interacted with church folk was different why because you had your son to go to meeting clothes on you just acted different you know my my mom used to get all of us dressed and sit down on the on the the couch and wait to go out the door and we're all pray to death to move I think these clothes have bombs attached to them because Mom said if we move we're going to get hit I stained my my son to go to meet and close pants one time I did I went and slid in the grass drawn Ewing no mama's favorite pair of pants I had she let me know ruin a good pair of pants well they're mine let's stay with me stay with me we need to always do our best for the king why because he's worthy of it come on Mom and Dad there's nothing wrong with teaching your kids to act a certain way in church dress a certain way in church it's amazing to me these young people come to youth service and the question is is what's the dress code and it's funny it is it's strange the last thing we did dress to the nines oh what are the nines I don't even know what the nines is and Seth was all like with his suit on had a chain coming down you know yeah yeah I even hear Taylor some wear vests that the buttons are all crooked you know it just dressed to the nines huh like that is so cool that these young people want to dress up we were at Daughters of Destiny the other day that's strange that I get to say that as a man I was there red heart and I was there um 10 to 15 year old girls coming in there and heels and and time to go to meat and clothes and I'm like man this is just an overnight I bet they had 14 suitcases you know going on yeah and then I'm thinking they're not going to be able to have fun time after well I didn't realize they had house shoes and all that stuff in the room they just wouldn't put all that on and come back I'm like man it didn't last an hour Stay With Me two hours we need to do our best every time we can for the Lord why would we care that it's our best why does it matter I mean church should simply be a place where you can come and relax and hang out and just be around good people right did you realize what you're doing when you come to the house of the Lord as you are establishing principles that the next generation will have to embrace or they will change them listen to me that's why in the house of God now we I know we got a really strange Church we've done the weirdest things in this room man it wasn't too long ago that there was adults I mean adults riding around on blankets a true story huh and laughing and having a good time and they had the audacity brother Shane to ask me to do it all right does it look like I'm gonna do that and then when one of them about took out the building we had to put the brakes now here's my point here's the point I I get we eat in this room we do stuff in in like CAC we've done that stuff ever because it's just just what we have and we're going to do best we got what we got everybody okay with that but that said the lessons then have to become more and more intentional look kids we do this here now but we're not going to all the time because it changes gears and we have to do this what are we teaching the children then is this okay this is about giving our best to the Lord we're instructing them then on the differences and it's an easy explanation does any child play with a ball you play with the ball you know you bounce it you kick it you throw it I dare you I challenge I know my dog there you want your kids take that basketball and throw it in your house hard as you want what's gonna happen why because that's not the place for it right that okay one time I threw a football in the house brother Daryl and was not a good day figured out very quickly that the lamp couldn't catch I didn't know it didn't know it yeah the picture on the wall didn't stay I thought it would I did I mean come on it's up there now let me say this and I'm going to move along the wise men noticed this the wise men did not bring a box of crumbs to Jesus they did not bring the leftovers to him they brought gold frankincense and myrrh they understood this is the king and he is going to change the world one more point I'm I'm watching the clock the end of your Bible is called the book of the revelation of John and uh it's interesting of course if your Bible Theologian or you're spending any time studying how the order was put to the listing of Bible chapters and books and and verses and whatnot it's interesting that they ended it in the revelation of John the very last chapter of the revelation this is just what it says in chapter 22 verse number eight and I John saw these things and I heard them I saw them and I heard them when I'd heard and I'd seen I fell down to worship before the feet of the Angel would shoot me these things verse 9 says they didn't say it he unto me see thou do it not for I am thy fellow servant and of thy Brethren the prophets and of them which keep the sayings of this book there's a pause there does anybody say that what's that pause what's that called a what colon what does that mean and then what pick back up everybody grammatically correct now is what it says keep the sayings of this book stop Oz worship God John said I saw these things and I heard these things now again this is the Revelation this is the revelation of things to come this is when it talks in the Book of Revelation it talks about the apocalyptic things the the demon the the Angels the the horses the The Four Horsemen the ten heads and crowns and all the stuff that it's really hard to wrap your mind around and at the very end of it here the wording is so specific I saw these and I heard these things and then John says I fell down and I worshiped the angel that was walking me around through all of this stuff and showing me these parts and the angel said don't do that get get up get up I'm a fellow servant with you but you need to understand something I'm keeping what the book says and you're keeping what the book says and the two words here that stand out so powerfully is simply this colon worship God so here's where we stand tonight Point Blank plain and simple right and done worship God take the time take the spend the money do the emphasis learn study get yourself prepared understand it fall into it grab a hold of it swim in it walk in it running it exercise in it do what you have to do to worship God because here's the thing for all of eternity I will ask you what does that Bible that you hold in your hand what does it tell you about the Sweet By and By somebody give me one of the words it uses in the Bible when it talks about heaven what does it say what Paradise gold Gates of pearl what else no sorrow and pain come on eyes haven't seen keep going ears haven't heard what somebody the lamb is the light no Shadows is there death is there hurting anybody come on is this the place you still want to go so all the great wonderful magnificent things that it talks about the very end of after all of that explanation comes out is simply this worship God understand and all of the things that you live in your life if you do not worship God none of it's going to matter I can almost guarantee that in all the explanations that you and I just gave these couple these had a couple handfuls of of the streets of gold and the gates of Pearl and the lamb is the light and no pain no sorrow no tears in all of those things can we give as many explanations about what hell will be anybody gnashing of teeth hot miserable pain torment Lake of Fire we can go through as much in that list as well now here's the question what how do you make sure that you don't go to that place use it two words worship God I would that none would perish but you better worship God understand the principles of the entire word of God and recognize that if indeed in the beginning God created if it came from God's hand it's going to be right now the understanding of that is as if we will indeed worship God the chronicle said it this way Worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness recognize the power and the presence of how you worship God you cannot come haphazardly you cannot bring a three-legged lamb you can't bring a cow that's got disease on it it better be the best you've got and you better have spent the time effort and energy to give it to that place spotless no no blemish on it and bring it because that's what God accepts here we are in 2023 we talk about it often but this month we're talking about worship many times we want to if brother drong using half a will two wheels quarter of a wheel no will you may have to drag yourself here right come into the house of the Lord it's a it's an effort sometimes you got to discipline yourself you know it has to become let me say it has to become habit and there's a lot of folk that would come to church but they simply broke the habit and now Wednesday or Sunday or any other prayer time or whatever they don't they're not in the habit of doing it and so therefore they don't do it right I know I need to be in the house I just don't well there you have it I didn't see you either here's my point if you knew heaven was real and you understood hell was real and you knew what it would take to get to the place called Heaven is to what worship God then you'd better give it all you've got and every moment you've got every understanding you've got listen friend we are living every day closer and closer to the coming of the Lord has anybody expecting his return come on is anybody tune in your ear to the sound of the trumpets anybody's still looking for that come on is anybody still have an imagination one day you're here and then the twinkling of an eye you're gone you're you're met up and you're in the air now and your graves are open and you think it's the coolest thing ever come on or is that just a far-fetched idea from past Generations worship God come on give the worship you've got unto the things of God I spoke this I'm almost done when I first started the series here we talked about worship laying before the Lord that is an intentional position of understanding you increase I decrease you're up I'm not your God I'm not you're on the throne I'm not and as you submit to that in humility and you truly understand come on if you go to the Greek it's a whole lot more descriptive you lick the hand of the master meaning you understand who holds the key to your future and when it comes to praise you establish within yourself I will praise him with everything that is within me this way this way this way this way this way this way this way I'll praise him this way whatever it is why I will expend myself to lift him up have you ever exalted yourself huh yeah I have well I made a mistakes I've exalted myself wait yeah just wait till you do you wait till you did anymore they didn't know at all what that was supposed to be I should have never exalted myself but I'll tell you this I've exalted the Lord and I've never seen him drop it fumble it nor mess it up but God's faithful so in ending this particular series on worship I want to challenge us every day come on every day not just Sunday and Wednesday not just Tuesday or Monday night come on but every day wake up with a decision already made I choose to Worship the Lord today I I I I humbly ask for you God to move in my life I I have a situation Lord that is horrible terrible but you're already aware of that God because today when I woke up you already had this day ordered for me and if I'm a righteous man you've ordered my steps you you know what I need you're aware of where I'm standing and you know the things that I'm going through I I've asked as often as I can as anybody in here believe that God works off of a plan B does God have to back up and say I didn't expect that oh that's a surprise I wasn't sure he was man that's anybody I submit to you in many occasions I've learned and I've discovered God doesn't even know how to punt he doesn't get to fourth down and say well let's punt it away and see what we come up with mm-hmm worship God brother John would you come spend the time worshiping listen to me carefully 2023 I'm here to tell you guys this world and all this stuff is looking for true worshipers listen to me true worshipers people that will decide you know what I'm sick and tired of all the stuff and I'm ready for something real I'm convinced that we are living one of the greatest times ever with all the darkness and all the junk going on this is an opportunity that true worshipers have been looking for now here's the concern that I have as a pastor where do you fall in that have you been so churched that now it no longer Thrills you to be in the presence of the Lord It's a question you simply expect for God to be God and it not cost you anything to be a worshiper we had a place in our relationship with God that we take him for granted if he doesn't act our way or the way we want then we get upset and we don't give in the tithe anymore or we stop believing and coming to prayer meeting is the value of our word simply diminish because it used to be that when we said we'd be there that we would show up and be there but now yeah they'll understand come on to a thirsty man water is invaluable to a hunger man a hamburger is invaluable to somebody that really loves the Lord and wants to serve him and your mind is made up and you will find that place and you will simply worship God stand with me plain and simple worship God worship God allow God to be first give him your best reflect his love and his power as you honor him spend intentional time with him foreign I've got five minutes here I'll pray you know get up with that intention Lord this is my time with you whatever it is throughout the day Lord I'm gonna love you worship you the night before you go home it's eight o'clock would you simply lift your hands to the Lord come on it's a sign of praise come on open your arms to him right now I praise you Jesus thank you I Praise You king of glory I Praise You Holy One I praise you come on somebody spend time with him Jesus I Need You Jesus I have to have you I must have you in my life we've got to have your lord every day every morning every evening every noontime every midnight I've got to have you in my life come on somebody lift your voice to him right now holy is your name Worthy is your name come on worship God understand who he is comprehend who he is get it in your mind in your spirit I will worship you in the beauty of Holiness I will make the reflection of you known God by the way that I worship you I will understand the power Lord of demonstrating how good you are to me I Will Worship You Lord in my gifts and what I give to you it'll be the best Lord that I have I will bring it to you willfully and cheerfully Lord I will willingly give to you the best that I have Lord God I will worship you Heaven is where I want to go Lord eternity with you Jesus is what I look for uh in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus come on somebody spend some time with him right now great is your faithfulness oh God great is your faithfulness Holy One I love you Jesus and I believe in you there is no one like you Lord none to compare to you you alone are wonderful you alone are worthy oh come on somebody are you hungry for God to work in your life I love you Lord and I trust you tonight great God I give you honor and glory and praise unto you o God unto you o God come on that's right do you love him tonight come on worship God do you love him tonight spend time with him I thank you Lord I trust in you Lord my faith is in you Jesus I honor you great God I need you Jesus I Need You Jesus I'm nothing without you's great God I must have you Lord I exalt you I lift up your name I lift up your name come on anybody feel like coming to an altar tonight and spending a few moments it's two minutes after eight it's early still you want to come and just spend some time with him come on let's try some of you need to take up the position of worship humbly before the Lord bowed low before him I reach for you Jesus I want you God to reveal yourself in my life oh god of Glory I must have you I'm nothing without you I need you Jesus I love you great God come on that's right you are the holy God you are the holy God you are right Lord righteous perfect and right in all of your ways oh come on that's right call on the name of the Lord worship God worship God worship God I bless you Lord I bless you Lord God I magnify you Holy One I bow before you holy God in the name of Jesus oh come on let's try love him love him love him blessed be the name of Jesus blessed be the rock of my salvation blessed be the strong tower hallelujah hallelujah come on let faith move right now I don't know hallelujah holy God I love you I trust you and I bless your holy name right now in the name of Jesus oh come on that's right oh come on that's right the beauty of holiness his majesty working in your life his Excellence working in your heart and in your life Hey I Love You Lord I love you Lord oh come on that's right come on somebody go into his presence don't stand out in the court who run into his place run into that place right now Jesus I've come to love and worship you Jesus Jesus Jesus don't stay out on the porch run in right now Lord I've come to love you I've come to worship you I've come to worship and bow before you foreign holy is your name Jesus Worthy is your name Jesus Worthy is your name Jesus oh come on that's right talk to the Lord I love you and I I need you Lord I must have you I must have you God you feel like praying for your neighbor tonight come on come up next to somebody and pray with them Lord encourage my sister tonight encourage my brother tonight Lord encourage families tonight Lord come on pray with somebody believe with them for something great believe with them God you can Lord you can Lord you can Lord Jesus you can do anything hey we love you oh come on God of Glory bless the men of our church bless the women of our church bless these young folk God bless these children glory of the Lord breathe into this house Sweet Holy Ghost Power oh come on that's right believe God for great things the name of Jesus come on let Faith grow in this room right now true worshipers true worshipers I've come to love you breathe into my life Holy Ghost I pray Spirit of the Living God fall fresh in this place tonight oh come on that's right go into his presence Worthy is your name Lord Worthy is your name Jesus Worthy is your name sweet Jesus holy God holy God holy God I Will Bless You Lord come on run into his presence right now I I will praise you Jesus I will lift you up Jesus glorify your name I will glorify your name I will glorify Your Name Lord I will bless your Holy Name come on he's real tonight in this house bless the Lord bless the Lord come on you're hungry for God tonight run to him come on it's a Wednesday night get close to
