any of you saints of God this building was not built to get comfortable in this building was not built to get comfortable in I'm thankful I'm with my family tonight both my brothers and theirs and their wives and my nieces and nephews and and sister Garnett my wife Beth and then our children Nate and Briana Luke and Olivia and Delilah and davon I started trying to make up a sauce on memoral like 12 disciples and then a little man our new addition i'm thankful my family's here tonight and this is such a great celebration if you have your bibles and i don't want to turn to the word of the lord the first kings first kings the eighth chapter i'm going to skip down through a few verses while you're standing I'm aware of the hour and I don't I'm pretty sure I know kind of what time you normally get out and I know we're right there at the door of it but pastor who is my pastor told me to preach he also told me to take my time so I'm gonna do a little balance okay I'm gonna preach but maybe not take my time all right so if you'll preach with me tonight and let's receive what God has for us first Kings the eighth chapter verse 22 and Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel spread forth his hands toward heaven and he said Lord God of Israel there is no God like V in heaven above or in earth beneath who keepeth covenant and mercy with our service and walk before thee with all their heart verse 31 he continues to pray and say if any man trespass against his neighbor and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear and the oath come before thine altar in this house here thou in heaven verse 33 when thy people Israel be smiting down before thy enemy because they have sinned against thee and shall turn against thee and confess thy name and pray and make supplication unto thee in this house verse 35 when heaven is shut up there is no rain because they have sinned against thee I pray toward this place and confess thy name and turn from their sin when thou afflicted them verse 4 with 41 moreover concerning a stranger that is not of the people of Israel but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake for they shall hear of that great name and of the strong hand and of thy stretched out arm when he shall come and pray toward this house verse 45 reads been hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication when they're not experiencing rain when they said things against their neighbor they wish they wouldn't have said when the stranger walks through these doors hear their prayer and supplication and maintain their calls for a few minutes the night I want to minister on this subject in his house in his house let's pray together father I love you and I worship Lord your mighty name Jesus I adore you Lord tonight and I magnify you and I pray Lord and I know there is a heavy spirit Lord that is rested upon this congregation there's a miracle Lord that's going to take place in this place tonight someone's gonna receive an answer God in this service is evening so lord I pray in your mighty name that you would come down God rest Lord upon us here your children Lord in your house we give you praise and glory for it all Jesus name we pray amen god bless you may be seated I can only imagine the state of mind but David was in laying on his death bed as he sent word and he said go fetch Solomon I need to speak to him for a few moments Solomon walks in a room of a father that he know is failing in health looks around and he sees the nurses the doctors walking in and out he understands the care that's been given to his dad over the last few days weeks and months he Nestle's next to the father's bedside and his father looks and says you got to build God a house you see I've lived all of my life Solomon and I have acquired everything that you would need from the craftsmen to the gold to the set of plans God has said that because I was a man of war that I'm not going to be the one to build the house but Solomon I want you to build God a house I don't want you to waver in doing it I don't want you to get weary and stop the process I'm leaving these plans and all the material in your hands and I expect you to just do it put your hands to the plow scope over all the plans and do it with everything that is within you no doubt Solomon grabs a hold of the plans that his father has handed knowing that a few short days later he'd say goodbye to his dad his dad had seen many victories he slayed the lion and the bear with his own hands he had killed Goliath with a slingshot in a stone he knew what the annoying of God felt like and now he hands a task of building God a house for a purpose purpose was that his presence of God would have somewhere to dwell won't just be out wandering in a wilderness somewhere so Solomon puts his hand to the plow we heard this morning how many worked on that temple seven years that it took for the completion of that temple and in first kz8 chapter we find that Solomon now is standing before all of Israel inside this completed temple when he stands before all of Israel he stretches forth his hands he begins to pray and he said Lord God of Israel Lord God of Israel there is no god like thee in heaven above or on the earth beneath who keepeth covenant and mercy with our service and walk before thee with all their heart who has kept with our servant David my father thou has promised him and speaketh also with our mouths and has fulfilled it with on hand as it this day therefore now Lord God of Israel keep with our servant David my father that thou promise him saying there shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel so that not children take heed to their way that they walk before me as thou has walked before me and now O God of Israel let thy word I pray thee be verify which thou speaketh unto the servant David my father but will God indeed dwell on the earth behold the heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee how much less this house that I have built it Solomon stretched his hand before all the congregation and he said there is no God like our God ladies and gentlemen in this sanctuary tonight we cannot become comfortable in the completion of this sanctuary we cannot become comfortable in the piers being filled we must walk into it every time we walk into it and lift up our hands and declare who God truly truly truly is he's God when I'm feeling well and he's God when I'm not feeling well he's God when I'm sick and he's God when I'm well he's God when I'm on the mountain and he's God when I'm in the valley whether I'm in a storefront or a newly constructed building God is still God ladies and gentleman Solomon said before we open it up for anybody else to step in these doors we need to proclaim Jesus Christ as the king of kings and the Lord of lords and that everybody know that we're not just sitting around waiting I said I'm gonna love God and I'm gonna serve God and I'm going to worship God because there is nobody like our God I said there's nobody like our God look at somebody and say there's nobody like our God just kind of nudge somebody if they may have fallen asleep I know we've been here a while already and tell them there's nobody like our God God doesn't care how pretty you are God doesn't care what kind of car you drove the church in God doesn't care what kind of tie you're wearing God doesn't care how high your heels are God is listening for some praise from his people oh I wish somebody get lost right here for just a minute I wish somebody get lost right here before we go any further I wish somebody just get lost right here for just a minute praise God there is no God like our God there is no king like our King there is no lower like our Lord he's the miracle worker all I can't do what Jesus can do Mohammed can't do what Jesus can do there is no God like I got there is no key like a king let it be red rain through the rafters Solomon opens this prayer by saying we're gonna open we're worship we're not gonna dry up just because of the beauty and what we're sitting in we're gonna open with worship I know this family tonight pastor and sister Cartman this church family good enough to know that you didn't allow God to bring you from where you were to where you are right now to lose your worship I understand this congregation I know you well enough to know tonight there's one thing on your mind when you came to church this evening and it wasn't about who was singing or who was preaching it was about God is great and greatly to be praised all right mark ii chapter reads in first verse number one and again he entered into Capernaum after some days again he entered into Capernaum which lets me know he had been there before he's on his way back to Capernaum and as he enters into upon Capernaum again the Bible says it was noised that he was in the house is turning a neighbor to say Jesus is in the house turning two or three more and say Jesus is in the house keep telling somebody else Jesus is in the house he's on his way to Capernaum and those that hear about Jesus returning understand what Jesus did when he was their last he was also able to do it again and so those that he had touched the blinded eyes that he had opened they started telling others Jesus it's only his way back to Capernaum and if he opened blinded eyes the last time he was here he can open blinded eyes again the lame man that got up and walk started running through the through the neighborhood saying Jesus is on his way back to Capernaum and if he calls these legs to move one more time he's able to heal somebody get your family down there to where Jesus is at and the Bible says that it was noise that he was in the house it was noise that he was in the house Solomon said before we ever open for anybody to enter we gotta get things right and that is Jesus has got to be glorified in this house Jesus has got to be magnified ready noise that he was in the house gather together in so much that there was no room to receive the Ummah no not so much as about the door the place filled up I don't know how many this congregation can see but I know God wants to feel it I'm not a prophet and I know me don't prophesy but I'm gonna prophesy tonight because I have felt something all afternoon I fed it through this service and I'm telling you the Lord tells his congregation he's gonna feel it soon soon I said he's gonna feel it soon you say all brother Garnett you don't know what you're talking about I may not know what I'm talking about but God knows what he's talking about if you're here when I'm telling you right now if we will glorify his name every time we enter into the house of worship somebody is on the way because they'll hear the noise from God's people this is not a regular house this is not the Garnett's house this is not the carpenter's house this is not the Akers house this is God's house this is not your house this is God's house God specializes in doing great things in his house whatever your need is when you walk through those doors you're giving God an opportunity to do something in your life before you leave this place tonight and our God is still a delivering god I've gotta steal a miracle-working God I gotta steal a healing God my God is still away Baker my God is still overthrown because of the noise the place got filled because of the worship God filled the house because of men and women that said I don't care what she thinks about me I don't care what he thinks about me because of men and we that coming into God's house and say I'm gonna open up before I ever ask God for anything before I ever shake your hand I'm gonna lift my hands toward God and let everybody know the real reason I'm here is to glorify he is most wonderful come on you know who I'm talking to right now you can't get your eyes on somebody who don't ever lift their hands you can't get your eyes on somebody who never stands and worships when the word of God's being preached you got to get your eyes on what God has done in your life and who God he is to your life and whose house you're in and what you're here for and why you showed up tonight and what you came after hallelujah if you come after a healing go get it if you come up to a miracle go get it if you need the Holy Ghost just go ahead and get it you came to the right place you're in his house the house was filled so much there was no more room the Bible said the word was preached then there was a miracle and then forgiveness of sins but it all started because someone spoke a word and made some noise someone worshiped the Lord for who he was and what he had accomplished Solomon began to worship the Lord Solomon began to glorify God Solomon lifted up his hands and said listen there is no god like our God listen Israel we got to get this right this house is not anybody's house but God's you're not to worship anything in this house but the Almighty got Israel before we say anything else before we pray any of it prayers before we do any other outreaches before the choir Cesar Leonard another new song before the band there's new cause on the keyboards and the bass guitars we got to get one thing right and that is this is God's house and we ought to worship Him in spirit and in truth in verse 31 he speaks about If any man trespass against his neighbor said if any man trespass against his neighbor and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear and the oath come before thine altar in this house he said I want you to hear him in God's gonna hear it in heaven God's gonna answer and God is gonna forgive when thy people Israel be smiting down before the enemy because they have sinned against thee in turn again to be and confess thy name and pray and make supplication unto thee in this house now this may be the first time you've ever walked into this house this is gonna be the greatest house you ever enter I saw elders tonight worshiping God they've been worshiping around here year after year after year and this is to steal the highlight of their week they get to go to God's house it's not just good when I'm good it's good when I'm bad it's not it's not just DC in God's house I can come when I'm not having good days in God's house I can come when I'm having bad days when I'm when I'm in a backslidden state and I don't like anybody in the church and anything this preach comes across as if it's offensive to me I still gotta fall in love with God's house because my only hope is to stay in the house of God if you're struggling if you just understand I'm gonna stay in God's house this is God's house I gotta be around the altar I gotta stay around God's house God's house is more than some carpet and a few steps God's house is more than a few pews and lovely people that feel the house of God if nobody's here or if the house is full I gotta fall in love with God's house this is the greatest place I could be every Sunday morning every Sunday night is in God's house when I'm not doing good my God is still good but I'm not doing well my God is still good you may be seated I've said things against my neighbor I shouldn't have said I'm sitting on the opposite side of the church now because I've said some things to them I'm not I'm not happy about be thankful you're still in God's house be thankful you got an advocate with the father be thankful there's hope for you right now I know it don't happen in Tennessee but in North Carolina when folks begin to struggle they want to make excuses why they're not in God's house want a God God helped us out without multi-media a few weeks ago I guess there was so many people staying out and saying we're still connected or watching an online now I'm not talking about folks are out reaching - I'm talking about folks that just got lazy and don't want to come to church now I'm too comfortable now I know I am just got to ladies I just don't want to come to church wheeze in a Sunday night service few weeks ago the Lord said I'm gonna send a lightning boat and I'm gonna hit right in front of the steeple kibou microphone I mean some young ladies just dropped their mics ever heard in my life Olivia and Brianna well on the praise team they were singing Luke was on the drums mate was playing the guitar and there's one thing I've always told my kids don't let things of foolishness distract you in God's house there was two girls still singing my daughter's one old guy was still playing the drums smoke coming out of the air unit up top I said we stopped now I think we've been hit by lightning we've time to go I think the Lord spoke in his houses God swiped out took out all the cameras all the switches all the I mean he smoked it all food I thought to myself in prayer the next day over in the church I was praying and thinking God that nothing worse had happened than a few thousand dollars worth of equipment and God spoke to me and said you know what he meant I'm talking about the Pentecost slot house he said listen I'm gonna take you back a little bit nah we're gonna really see who's really loves God's house thank God for everything that we've got thank God for everything that we're involved with I don't mean I don't mean to be I don't mean to be negative to anybody tonight but thank God for every position that you're operating you're working thank God for every musical instrument thank God for every lay minister thank God for every production team member but if that takes the place of my desire for God's house I really honestly thank God for this production team and all the souls are making a difference here and the beautiful singing that you've got some of the best of the best and the wonderful saints of God but sometimes we just gotta say God I'm in love with your house I'm thankful for your house god I'm thankful for this that you blessed us with but you blessed us Lord to glorify you there'll be a time you may need to ask God for forgiveness this is a good place to do it there may be a time you feel like you're defeated Solomon said they may be smiting from time to time but if they'll bring their plead and their petition into this house I'm gonna hear Oh sometimes you're gonna feel like all the heaven is shut up I'm gonna feel like there's no rain you haven't seen rain in months and I just don't know what to do get to God's house get to God's house get to God's house quit looking at what everybody else is doing and understand that you need rain you need right in your life you you need that rain to fall down from heaven I need an answer from God for myself I came liova own ten years ago experience I've got to have an answer for God right now and you come to God we're gonna glorify God we're gonna praise the Lord we're gonna magnify the Lord Oh whenever you've got a struggle with your struggling if you found yourself and see and you can come to this house you can take your prayer to the altar and God's gonna hear you when you need rain you can go to the altar and Gospels sin rain when your enemies have smiting you you can bring it to the altar and God's gonna give you a victory and he goes through one after another about what colwiz gonna do for Israel in his house and then he stops and he says I will talk to you about a stranger I looked up there were stranger few days ago and I I come across strengthened it that they have tags stranger syndrome where people have a hard time speaking to strangers he said there's gonna be strangers that is not about people Israel but they come out of a far country for their namesake they're going want to enter into this house they're gonna they're going to hear about the name and all the praise and the worship from this temple and they're going to want to experience what we are experiencing a stranger someone we don't know much about a stranger someone who looks completely lost a stranger someone that doesn't actually fit in a stranger someone from a different ethnic background a stranger someone whose life has been a misfortunate life and they want to enter into this house this this place of worship because they're hurting on the inside and they need God in their life I mean he's sitting out here tonight understand what that feels like when you know there's something more and you're reaching for something greater I mean he understand the night that they're all through this building this evening of men and women that walked into the sanctuary for the very first time and they didn't know brother so-and-so and they didn't know sister so-and-so all they had heard about was the worship and the praise that was coming out of this building the miracles and the signs and the wonders that had heard about in the community and they said I don't have to know anybody I just want to know who Jesus is I just want to get to walk in there and glorify God and praise the name of Jesus ladies and gentleman our doors are open first Apostolic Church your doors are open thank God for an assembly that welcomes the stranger I was in a restaurant a few months ago ten eleven months ago young man walked to my table in that restaurant as I was eating that night he stumbled to my table he was drunk he said pastor garnet I know you you don't know me I said well it's good it's good to have met you tonight he said I won't one day come to your church he stumbled and walked away needless did I know the next time I saw him he would be driving the hearse that carried my mother he worked for the funeral home now he's a young man been an alcoholic most of his life he tells a story that he couldn't stay off alcohol more than one month at a time with the help of a doctor anyone else he was an addict an alcoholic he attended our mother's service because he drove the hearse of my mother and during the course of that service something got ahold of his life something got ahold of his heart we buried mom on Friday of that week and on that Sunday I look back and there were two funeral home directors that had worked that funeral and he was one of them when the altar call was given this stranger come walking up to the altar kind of looked around and he saw this area over here praising God and magnifying God there's so many happy people in this church ain't it great to be a part of a church with a bunch of happy people and he looked over here in this section is just magnifying God and he walks to the altar he says I want a relationship with God and I said oh lift your hands up Cameron Cameron lifts up his hands he says I want to be delivered I said deliver for what he said alcohol I said we're gonna pray we pray the name of Jesus he was a stranger to most people in that church that night but a week ago he walked up to me with a smile on his face he said pastor do you know what this week means I said what he said it's been six months and I haven't had one drink of alcohol and I tell you I feel the Holy Ghost wrong in this place tonight I feel the Holy Ghost wrong in this place tonight hallelujah we're in this house this evening this church is not battling things this church is not battling racism you see different colors all through the pews the night this church isn't balanced judging people when they walk through the doors you see all different kinds of people in this place tonight this church isn't judging where that child come from and what marries that child come out of there's all kind of different people all in this place tonight you know why because there's a church that says our main job is not to look and who walks in here I'm a job is to glorify God and make there an atmosphere for God to do something wonderful in this place come on anybody in these section over here won't want a miracle anybody in these sections over here and I want a miracle do you know anybody needs a miracle would you praise gone right now and create an atmosphere for a miracle to happen stranger stranger stranger is going to come in solemn and said if our hearts are right and we're doing what we're supposed to do we won't even notice when they walk in if we're worshipping God we won't notice who slips over here in these doors and sits over here if we're magnifying God we won't see who walks through these doors and sits over here in this section we'll just be glorifying God but there's gonna be strangers they have come before and they're gonna keep flooding these pews they're gonna come so minis gonna come you can't keep up with the names of people there's gonna be so many flood these pews and sit around you that you want to wonder how in the world where are you from how long have you been coming oh I've been coming a few weeks who is this this is somebody I brought where they're all strangers but a stranger needs what we got just as well as we got what we've got you understand tonight ladies and gentlemen you should be so thankful that you're in a house and is God's house that God has prepared for you stranger somebody don't fit in somebody that you don't know a whole lot about I watched the gentleman here in the church it's the brother here on the front pew I've met him but I don't know he's in my name sitting right here in front of me right here he was over here this morning and the Lord got to movin on him and he did a spin Bruce and I thought to myself how long can he do that I mean I'm not how long can he do that without passing out or getting dizzy I mean the guy comes out of a spinning just I don't know who he is some of you may not know him personally basis but guess what Bruce knows Jesus when he walked it I don't know what his situation was but when he walked in most of you didn't know him but when he heard the Word of God because there was a bunch of people praising God and then he heard the word of God and he said if all these people got something this real and I think I'll own it and he walks down to an altar thank God changes Bruce's life I'm telling them come on Lords in the strangers the church is ready come on Lords in the strangers FAC is ready come on Lords in omean this church is ready maybe see I've been blessed to preach in a lot of churches but I don't think I've ever experienced when I'm experiencing the night there is a revival that has already started been taking place for months and years Amen I preached in churches and said you gotta believe in the revival and some folks won't revive when they want to they want this they want those to come in the church that they won't come into the church they want to dictate who they are and what color they are and how much money they make and what kind of cars they drive and what kind of background they got but you don't feel that in this house tonight you know why because this is truly a house of God we don't care what they drive we don't care what background they are we don't care where they Vienna we don't care what Syrians are involved we have-we don't care if they've been defeated we don't care what kind of sickness they got we don't care how many marriages they've been through we don't care what how much they've been abused if they can just get in this house I think you're just getting God's house thank God is gonna do something in their life let it change the old forever whoo hallelujah to go I said if we can just get them in this house I said if we can just get them in this house this is God's house miracles take place in this house blinded eyes are open in this house lay people begin to walk in this house cancers are healed cancers are healed cancers are healed cancers are you cancers are healed in this house I come against the spirit of unbelief in the name of Jesus when it comes to cancer my God is a healer of any kind of cancer less than anybody's body in this place tonight God is a miracle we don't have no trouble going to the doctor's house waiting in the doctor's waiting room sitting on the table with just a sheet that covers us let him come in and tell us what we need to do and what we need to take we have no problem that's fine and I'll do it and you do it but when you come to God's house it's totally different God knows what you walked in here with hear me sister God knows what you walk in here with brother God knows what you walked in here with God knows what's troubling your mind God knows what's troubling your spirit God knows what's ending it wants the illnesses in your body and God can't heal you before you leave his house tonight somebody clap your hands of Jesus and break strangers gonna come we don't need things in our lives we get to come to this house some of you gonna get married in this house right some of you gonna bury grandparents into this house this house is gonna become so much a part of you cuz you can go back and you'll have great memories of what God did over here some of you got small babies you gonna bring them to church with high fevers you're gonna go against the odds and say listen I'm gonna be thankful to god you're gonna remember the time that you were in this area right here and then babies had high fevers and the doctor said this may be going on that may be going on and you walked up here during the time they weren't knowing and praying for the sick and God reaches down and right here that you gonna be under stay right here in this spot right here right here I remember when I was a young parent right here God healed my children in his house some of they gonna remember how bad you struggled and how much hell you were walking through and how you were going through a terrible relationship and you're right over here this section right here and how you felt like giving up and throwing in the towel and you said God if I don't get something in this house tonight I'm going home and I'm taking my life but you felt a brush come by and it was the hand of a man of God as he placed his hand on your head and he said in the name of Jesus I'll review this spirit come out of the oven you'll remember it was in his house thank God delivered you oh my god someone you'll remember to feel that you were standing at window when the pastor was preaching and you felt like throwing in the towel but about midway through the sermon something got ahold of you and he said oh my god I think I can make it oh yes I think I can make it I think everybody's gonna be all right that's gonna be okay I think my family's gonna be alright you see in this house this house this house that's why it's important that you keep the same spirit that you've got right now that's why it's important that you never let anything drive you away from his house so we've completed the assistance all good it's wonderful now we can kind of rest and relax no you can't I said no you can I want to come tonight it's a voice the first Apostolic Church and I mean this with all of my heart I want you to hear me what I'm saying right now you cannot get relaxed and comfortable just because the building is being completed there is a devil that wants you to stop there's a devolution to get satisfied right where you are there's an adversary system and just keep him at bay I'll be okay but no devil not FAC a Miravalle we're gonna believe God for the supernatural strangers don't come strangers gonna come you receiving strangers some folks going to disconnect from you because of receipt strangers I never forget a little boy which they can care in our home he was it of different color of skin than we were and I never forget some of the statements that people made to others to get back to me and my wife racial statements I didn't attack the home I just love the child it's a stranger someone who walked in that just kind of looked around and said wonder if I'll be welcome you know you will hear there's people in this place tonight walked in here for the very first time and they feel welcome you know why they feel welcome because we're doing what God expects of us to do when we came in there is no God like our God there's no God like our God they're gonna come they're gonna learn what you're going to receive there's gonna be times you go to battle against your enemy Solomon said you will need to look toward the house of God in pray prayers god help us be victorious then in verse 45 Solomon continues to pray and he says these words he said then hear thou in heaven their prayer in their supplication and maintain their calls David Haye once used the phrase like this when his brother said what are you doing here Solomon's dad had once said these words is there not a cause now Solomon says in his house we can maintain our cause some musicians are coming tonight in his house whatever we have need of we can receive it I know what some are thinking what brother Garnett we're used to faith preaching and by now we should be running and shouting this is all the divine plan God there's so many things we could shout about look around you look around you at what God has done it is absolutely gorgeous the sound quality is amazing their production team this morning as they were honored it's unbelievable the voices for the Erickson and the choir matchless just this look around you the quality of your pastor just the greatest in Pentecost look around at all you've got let's just look at what God has done just just for a moment before you begin to worship just sit where you're at and take a look it's more than a pretty picture it's more than beautiful inlaid floor it's more than gorgeous carpeting it's more than crown molding and sheetrocking technology is his house it's more than just social gathering it's more than just the place we come to socialize speak to our friends it's good to do that but it's God's house I almost guarantee you that everybody in this room tonight could tell you what date they repented what date they were baptized and denied they received the Holy Ghost I mean remember that night you receive the Holy Ghost remember where you were what church you were in what state you were in remember all this God has blessed us with folks that walk in for the first time I've never seen it before I'm sure it takes your breath away hallways that go in surround this sanctuary the foyer is second to none the coffee shop the past Oriole offices in the day care rooms the Outreach Center but they care the Christian school in the classrooms everything state-of-the-art before we ever walk around here days and weeks to come because there will be times that we may struggle there may be times that we may feel like victories and it's not belonging to us there will be times that we get sick in our body we just can't seem to get over what is in our body before we ever turn and walk out of here start saying it's just another building always remember this isn't just another building it's his house you see it's just carpenter if I fall sick tomorrow and God never heals me I need to stay close in his house because I got to maintain my calls situations come in my life and I'm not as with it as I used to be I'm tell you middle-aged young people in this place tonight elders just cause something may in the future I'm sure never will happen here but if in the future something ever goes a way that you don't like it going you begin
