god bless you may be seated i appreciate that gentleman he was talking about i don't know who it is but i appreciate him it's good to be at first apostolic church here in maryville you know we love you very much you know we give honor and respect to your pastor his family brother and sister carpenter i know we're live and hundreds of people are watching but i'm that type of guy i just really don't care but the carpner family are the best period you got the best of the best got the best of the best and then the team that they have here ministry staff brother and sister erickson brother and sister hammond brother and sister carpenter uh you you folks are so blessed so so blessed you know i've loved them for quite some time i could tell many great memories and church services count meetings as a matter of fact i was telling someone in cleveland just this week that um brother carpenter preached our count meeting when i was a boy fallon was a baby a little baby brother brother carpenter preached our count mean all the time matter of fact if he didn't come to preach it i didn't really want to go mama just made me go and one night sister carpenter wanted to go play basketball in the gym there at full casual well that's where all the upper echelon men hung out and young men and and brother carpenter was like why don't you walk with sister carpenter down to the gym and i'm going to stay back with fallon i was a kid i didn't want to go to that gym they picked on me they never let me play and i could start naming names of those ministers that are now pastoring churches they picked on me they they would never pick me they'd look over me so i put my shoes on and got my ball clothes on knowing i wasn't going to play and i walked down that gym was just a carpenter and we walked in and it was like queen walked in the gym they were picking teams and they started fighting over which team sister carpenter was going to be on so sister carter looked at him and said whoever picks me sean's got to play on the same team how about that big boys go on sit down somewhere and the memories go on and on and on and on and on i'd like to share just a few tonight if you have your bibles i want to turn to the word of the lord pastor could have went on and we could just enjoy the presence of the god of god but i want to turn your attention to joel the second chapter we'll begin reading it verse number 23. give honor to my family tonight some of them were planning to be with me but our family is spread out all over the country this weekend and i'm thankful that god is using our children to minister in even in these last days 23rd verse of the second chapter of joel be glad then you children of zion and rejoice in the lord your god for he hath given you the former reign moderately he will cause to come down for you the rain the former rain and the latter rain in the first month the floor shall be full of wheat and the vast shall overflow with wine and oil and i will restore to you the years that the locusts had eaten the canker worm and the caterpillar and the palmer worm my great army which i sent among you ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied praise the name of the lord your god that he that hath dealt wondrously with you and my people shall never be ashamed you shall know that i am in the midst of israel that i am the lord your god and none else and my people shall never be ashamed and it shall come to pass afterward that i will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh your sons and your daughters shall prophesy your old men shall dream dreams and your young men shall see visions and also upon the servants and upon the handmaidens in those days will i pour out my spirit and i will show wanders in heaven and the earth blood and fire and pillars of smoke the sun shall be turned in the darkness and the moon into blood before that great and terrible day of the lord come and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be delivered for in mount zion and in jerusalem shall be deliverance as the lord hath said and in the remnant whom the lord shall call joel said in the last days saith the lord i will pour out my spirit upon all flesh in acts 2 and verse number 16 on the day of pentecost peter stood up and he proclaimed but this is that which was spoken by the prophet joel if with the help of the lord and with the help of this great congregation i'd like to minister on this subject tonight what happened to that what happened to that god i love you and praise you thank you lord for your goodness and mercy for allowing us god to be in this place tonight and i ask you jesus that you would move in this place in a mighty way that your spirit lord would rest in this house god that your divine anointing would fill this room someone would leave tonight filled with your spirit someone will leave tonight healed in the name of jesus christ we pray amen and amen god bless you you may be seated this evening joel spends a majority of his time writing about the day of the lord the day of the lord is very common this very common theme throughout the minor prophets and as a declaration of god's judgment of evil to both the past and the future this judgment is for the nation of judah jerusalem as well as the people of god israel this judgment is horrific and will completely devastate all crops livestock and well-being in the land in light of this judgment joel calls the people to repent from their sin turn back to god and cry out to god for deliverance it's important to notice tonight ladies and gentlemen that while joel is calling the nations and israel to repentance he's not simply encouraging them to repent with lofty religious words he's calling them to repent by changing their actions and changing their ways it's more to repentance than just a few tears repentance is when you leave an altar with your mind made up whatever the temptation comes my mind's made up that i'm living for the lord jesus christ penance is more than just gathering around the altar and lifting your hands and saying lord forgive me repentance is a made-up mind that where he goes i will follow what he asks of me to do i will do what he asked me to lay down i'm laying down what he asked me to pick up i'm going to pick up he said return to me with your heart and ring your hearts and not your garments return to the lord your god for he is gracious and he is merciful he's slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and he relents over disaster with a beautiful picture of how genuine heart change repentance from the inside out leads to god's being eager to demonstrate his love and mercy despite the obvious reality that none deserve yet that's some good news to know tonight that even though i don't deserve it that god automatically allows me to receive it good news good news that god loves and cares this leads us to the last part of what joel as he elaborates on what a future hope can look like for those who repent are buried in his name turn to the lord and fully embrace god's ways in the future day of the lord god will confront all evil there will be a wonderful time of celebration and god's spirit will fill all his people this future is one of blessings abundance favor with the lord and a restoration of things once lost or restored i may have lost something in the world but by the death burial and resurrection of jesus christ i can take everything back that the world seemingly stripped from me for all of those that fear him and all of those that obey him we could just for a moment fast forward through many books we find ourselves to pentecost after the death the burial and the resurrection of jesus christ joel said in the last days saith the lord i will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh they knew something was coming they knew something was going to happen they knew it was on the way but they didn't know how it would take place so after the resurrection of jesus christ he appears to them in acts the first chapter in verse number three to whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs being seen of them forty days and forty nights speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of god and being assembled together with them commanded them that they should not depart from jerusalem but wait for the promise of the father which saith he ye have heard of me for john truly baptized with water but he shall baptize you with the holy ghost not many days hence in the second chapter of acts and when the day of pentecost was fully come they were all in one place and one accord and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as a fire and it set upon each of them and they were all filled with the holy ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance and there were dwelling at jerusalem jews devout men of god of every nation under heaven now when they heard this was noise abroad the multitude came together and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in their own language and they were all amazed and marveled saying one to another behold are not all these which speak galileans and how here we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born some marveled and some malt some made fun and some marveled and in verse number 12 and they were all amazed and were in doubt saying one to another what mean is this others mocking said these men are full of new wine but peter standing up with the eleven lifted up his voice and said unto them ye men of judea and all ye that dwell at jerusalem be this known unto you and hearken to my words for these are not drunk as ye suppose see it is but the third hour of the day but this is that which was spoken by the prophet joel and it shall come to pass saith the lord i will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams look at your neighbor and say this is that from the beginning of this service until right now something has been happening in this sanctuary it's not by coincidence we're all here it's not by coincidence i'm here on the sixth day at 6 00 on 2 2022 god wants to feel somebody with the baptism of the holy ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the spirit of god gives can i help somebody tonight there's always going to be people marveling at what we're doing and there's always going to be markers i said there's always going to be people outside looking in marveling at what's taking place and there's always going to be people outside looking in making a mockery of what we're doing but this is that let it never be said let it never be said at first apostolic church marriable tennessee let it never be said be said by the community it used to happen there the presence of god used to take place there they used to shout there they used to run the aisles there they used to magnify god there they used to baptize in jesus let it never be set in this community toward this church what happened to that man we're standing in one of the most you may be seated beautiful buildings that you will ever attend church anywhere state of the art i like this what is this thing right here called i don't know it's a big tv i can tell you that praise the lord or a big screen whatever whatever organization you're with praise god praise the lord i like all of it i like the lights i like the flame in the middle i like all these lights up here i'm telling you what there's lights everywhere they can take somebody ugly and make them look good on camera i'll tell you i mean i like all this stuff they got around here but let it never be said that that it used to happen there let it never be said that the lights drowned out the praise let it never be said they worried about what they look like more than they are the presence of god let it never be said don't let it ever be said young people fac don't let it ever be said what happened to that youth group they used to run the aisles what happened to that youth group they used to magnify god what happened to that i'm going to tell you what happened to it it's still here it's still alive it's still manifesting itself come on if you ain't shouted till you feel like you pulled something you ain't shouted yet if you hate dance you need to dance in these aisles oh yeah oh yeah i got it in my nose i got it in my nose literally let's hear i'll show it to you at the service the holy ghost is poured out on the 120 then it goes down to kenia's house and while peter yet spake these words the holy ghost fell on all them that heard the word then he went from there went to samaria and there was great joy in the city you don't let somebody tell you they got joy but don't act like they got joy matter of fact folks don't have to tell you they got joy they act like they got joy amen now i know you're you're used to the best of the best i understand all that we're scraping the bottom of the barrel but just go with me and scrape a little bit all right just scrape with me a little bit and so there was great joy in the city and then the ethiopian eunuch he received it miracles signs and wonders after the day of pentecost followed all the on that belief we can't afford to be said what happened to that they used to get healings they used to have miracles there used to be signs oh he's scared to mention the name cancer he won't say the name cancer his mother died of breast cancer you best believe i will devil right in your face because god called her home and he used that disease to take her there but my god is still a healer of whatever cancer is in your body let it never be said it used to happen let it never be said what happened to that we buried my father at the age of 13 i watched my grandmother who was a godly woman i watched alzheimer's take her mind to where she was down to a 98 pounds i watched her go out into eternity i was there in the morning my grandfather threw a blood clot and i gave him cpr and bagged him for 45 minutes i've watched loved ones in my life to my dearest recent one my mother three years ago as she went out into eternity i've seen disease take one after another but i'm here to tell you tonight ladies and gentlemen that joy said in the last days saith the lord i will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh if god healed then he's healing now if god failed then he's feeling now if god redeemed it he's redeeming now amen we need a red-hot apostolic tongue talking net jerking snot slinging something to get a hold of some of us in this place tonight that'll take us from where we are down to a place where we say god i want it back i want that back i don't want to ever be sad that i lost that too many churches are letting go of what you are embracing sad when teenagers look at their mom and daddy and say what in the world happened to that mama never looked like that daddy never talked like that what happened to that that joel spoke about what happened to that on the day of pentecost when peter said this is that let it never be said of f.a.c of meredith i don't believe it will be let it never be said keep it red hot amen let the critics say what they want to say there's always going to be mockers and there's always going to be marvelers whenever there's a holy ghost moving there's always going to be people making fun oh they think they got that you we don't think we got nothing we know what we got is right we know what we got is real we know what we got is genuine you ready you may be seen delilah delilah salome garnet that's her name now we got a mixture in our family some folks talk about multicultural families i got a church within my family it's multicultural she got the holy ghost here this past summer nine years old talking in tongues brianna called me brother roberts was here uh brother roberts is part of our family now i say that amen i move on brother roberts was here and he was ministering and delilah my youngest daughter received the baptism of the holy ghost brother nolan carpenter prayed her through to the baptism of the holy ghost brianna's got the phone i'm in the pool pier she's texting me pick up the phone i'm texting her back while i'm in the pulpit i am preaching now please leave me alone and so she's saying come on daddy call and so i went through my sermon and i got off the platform and run out to the office and i said what is wrong with you she said listen to this daddy and delilah was just talking in tongues just talking in tongues just talking in tongues sunday night back last week delilah was over here with her hands up she tears just flowing off her cheeks she had a she had the same age group of young girls all around her and they were just all praising god i walked by her and she was talking in tongues we got home that night and the talk around our table was not the bengals and it wasn't l.a realms the talk around our table was the good things that god did in a sunday night service because when you get a hold of that when you get a hold of god's that you won't want what the world has we were eating sandwiches and talking as a family and delilah said i got something to say i said what do you want to say honey she said daddy i spoke in tongues two words tonight two words and i just kind of looked at her like is this a joke she said ain't that good i said i mean i feel like she i realized she was serious i said praise the lord thank god for two words we got some sitting on up to you i ain't spoken two words in in 20 years i'm gonna buy me a pair of binoculars next time i'll come here so i can see you better oh yeah ain't smoking tongues and years ain't let god's get a hold of you and folks are looking at you saying to themself i wonder what happened to that i remember when that sister invited me to that church and i went there and i don't know what was on her but she screamed and hollered and danced all up and down the aisle and i was thinking to myself if i just ever get out of here i'll never come back and 20 years later that same sister that that dances something down the aisle is starting to look like that worldly woman is starting to talk like that worldly woman it's starting to be involved with things that no you ain't gonna help me preach but i'm gonna preach anyhow starting to be like a worldly woman and then folks are saying i wonder what happened to that no don't let it be you don't let it be you don't let it be you don't let it be you don't let it be your family you fight with everything that's within you to keep the baptism of the holy ghost running strong the lame man is healed when paul when paul says silver and gold have a nun but such as i have i give to thee in the name of jesus christ rise up and walk he then went into the temple leaping and praising god leaping and praising god if we're not careful in these closing moments of this dispensation we'll begin to look around and ask the question what happened to that we get our mind more on political parties they have got a clue what's going on they turning on one another i mean they're doing everything they can to climb to the top that's why we need to be doing everything we can to hear him say well done every devil you got to step on you step on it every meal you gotta fast you need to fast every prayer you need to pray you need to pray every time pastor's up here 61 years old if your 61 year old pastor is gonna out worship you shame on you shame on you shame on you you men that are in here tonight every time he dances you ought to dance every time he runs you ought to run every time he leaps you ought to leave because we can't afford we can't afford to let go of that you may be seated can i have just a few more minutes i remember 20 plus years ago i sent my notes 20 plus years ago during a service in a revival that i was part of that something got a hold it's in my notes brother stevens right here i typed it out last night i'll never forget it standing up on that platform he said on the left side the back to the left next to the wall outside wall i drove in the parking lot of the old church when i come here tonight i drove in there and i looked at where we parked our camper i looked at where i looked at that building i remember first walking in that building i remember when all the holy ghost will get to moving and everything would be right wide open and all of a sudden it flipped breakers i remember some of you men running like i mean down the side i was trying to find them breakers i remember this service like it was yesterday a 24 year old evangelist young boy that was in a revival and i i saw and witnessed the presence of god begin to flow the wave didn't originate in the ball games the wave didn't originate it originated at fac miracle about 25 years ago and the waves started from the back to the front when brother stevens come out that side out something got a hold of everybody in that building and there was symmetric good god outpouring of the holy ghost we can't wait 25 years for it to happen we can't wait five more years for it to happen we got to have it happening now we got to have it we got you got to let it flow through you one of the first times i ever saw brother hammond are you going to help me where's them things that amen here they are one of the first times i ever saw these was over 40 years ago now these right here state of the art i'm gonna tell you right here we're gonna get to shaking these things tonight and you're either gonna worship or you're gonna get knocked out first time i saw it wasn't this state of the art but it was an old broom handle had a piece of material about the size of this on it somebody taken an old red magic mark and wrote jesus on it first time i ever saw it was actually about 43 years ago brother zach hammond as a man he was a big man i remember in a revival my daddy was preaching in a town called watkinsville georgia i was a little boy sitting on the front pew because that was the only choice we had they beat us if we sat anywhere else i sat on the front pew and so i was watching what was taking place dad was preaching and all of a sudden bishop hammond gets up you know he got up everybody saw him get up he's a big man when he got up and he walked over to the far corner of that church they tore down and he found something over there and got to looking got scrounging around in that in that building and he come out when he found it he found that old jesus flag and in my big hands that flag looked like just something miniature in his hands that old big flag he raised it up and he walked back and forth to prosper that's that platform and dad kept on preaching and i'm telling you what he started mumbling things to people he i heard him tell one woman one night he said if you quit talking about your healing and grab this flat jesus flag and start taking a lap around this building gotta heal you i seen it with my own eyes she said i want it he'd give it to her she took that jesus flag she marched around that building by the time she got to where bishop was she started shaking and quaking and carrying on and going all kind of i mean all kind of crazy stuff and the next night of revival she come in and said i got a good dos report everything's all right everything's going to be all right there's always going to be marvelers and there's always going to be markers as long as the holy ghost is evident in the i'm talking about letting go and let god i'm not talking about this modern day stuff i told my kids the other night i said i'm praying god get ahold of y'all i'm tired of this modern day hand clap i'm tired of this modern day hand raised i mean just get you get your hand up i told one of my daughters the other night when we say raise your hands up like you can't get your hands up get your hands up in there i'm worried about my shirt tail buy you a longer shirt tail i'm worried about my tie go to goodwill and buy you a tie you don't care about this ain't a fashion show this is where god moves this is where the holy ghost takes yeah these flags you say man these things are outdated i love you all so much this is some new decor for your church i donated tonight amen it got so exciting dad come home he went somewhere and got him a piece of cloth found him an old broomstick and he made him one he's all he always had one there in the church and he would tell people quit whining and complaining if you got something going on and get up and praise the lord get up and activate what's inside of you you're waiting on some evangelists to come through and lay hands on you and all you sitting out there with the baptism of the holy ghost you got the same power i got you just got to activate what you've got no no no no i don't want to be sad to me that i lost that i don't want it to be said of me that i used to worship i don't want it to be said to me that i once was delivered i don't want it to be said of me that i used to talk in tongues i don't want it to be said of me that i used to believe in baptism i don't want it to be said to me i want everybody to know i still love jesus i still magnify him i still believe in what took our church our church got a little starchy a few few months ago yeah i love the greatest people on earth but we all go through lumps sometimes i say god send a spark in the church walk about two weeks later a man 74 years old his name is brother johnny brother johnny came in brother johnny about to worry me to death for five straight months he'd come up to me and say i remember when your granddaddy started that church down the road here talk real fast i remember when he started i used to go to that church he said he tried to get me to get baptized in jesus name until man getting baptized in jesus name i mean i i've been baptized in the titles father son of the holy ghost he showed up at our church and i told him looked at him and i said we ain't changed you're wasting your time he said well the church i'm from told me i worship too much told me if i was going to keep worshiping and go find me another church i said well i'm glad you're here and you can feel free to worship but if you think we're changing the baptismal formula just because you showed up you're badly mistaken my friend so i preached the next three sunday mornings on purpose baptism in jesus name he started getting our folks out into out in the parking lots telling them i don't agree with you pastor i don't agree with the pastor knowing what he's preaching and our folks will say that's fine but i want to go ahead and tell you if you think that little short fat man behind that pulpit is going to change his mind you are badly mistaken he said i love coming here because i love the worship and i love the praise but but i'm never going to do that then finally after about seven months of him showing up he come up to me one night tears flowing down his face and he said i've been reading my bible he said and i've been mingling this spirit and the worship that's in this church he said i can't find nowhere in the bible that anybody was baptized any other way after the death burial and resurrection but in the name of jesus christ we baptize him in the name of jesus christ 74 years old now i know this is comical but if i'm lying i'm dying sunday morning this past sunday morning he comes in and he shouts i mean he shouts if you watch some of our webcasts he's a white-headed fella he twists and he turns he turns so much to where he staggers i'm like i'm like somebody catch him he's going to kill himself down there he's staggering all around and i looked over sunday morning while i was preaching and literally he had the bible and he had it stuck right to the top of his head and he was leaping for joy shouting it's the truth it's the truth it's the truth it's the truth there's always gonna be marvelous and there's always gonna be markers but let the holy ghost keep on working you may be seen i watched them i watched them fly them flags with jesus on them i've heard the songs tonight with jesus in it it's all about jesus that's what it's all about it's what he can do to deliver you set you free bring you out of bondage to bondage that you're in tonight god is able to do all of that but to the church family let us not forget what he did for us whether it was 50 years ago 30 years ago 10 years ago or five days ago let us not forget that we have not always been where we are we have not always drove the cars we drive lived in the houses we live in and have the money that we got in our pocket let it not be said that we lost our worship and we lost that because we got the material things of the world god wants you to have material things but he don't want you to lose what you've got inside of you spiritually the day and age that we are living in is trying to deceive many trying to rob you of your miracle your worship and your praise well this is a bunch of hype no it's not but i tell you what i'm going to worship when i feel him yeah what happened to that yeah what happened to that i was 14 years old just received the baptism of the holy ghost a drummer in our local church dad had been gone now a couple years there was a lady in our church who was a minister's wife she was dead and cold as ice cubes out of the freezer i mean she never worshiped one night we had a great time in the holy ghost and when we got done folks had shouted and praised the lord and folks have received the holy ghost she walked up to me and she said she said sean i said what she said every time god moves you don't have to get off the drums and shout well i was always taught respect my elders but my father was no longer in the picture so i didn't have to worry about his whooping anymore so i looked right back at her and i said i've been going to church here all my life and i have never seen you move you want to try i'm going to wait when i feel the presence of god well then you either believe you got the holy ghost or you don't believe you got the holy ghost well i'm gonna wait till i feel the shekinah glory i'm gonna wait till everything gets hyped up i'm gonna wait till all the singers are singing and music is playing i'ma wait till i feel something listen you got something on the inside of you you got filled with the baptism of the holy ghost i look out across this crowd and see beautiful elders that feel these pews and then i see midways and young people let us not leave it to the elders to lead us in worship let us not lead it to the elders to get out in the aisles and praise the lord let us not know let's do it ourselves i said let's get out of the aisles and do it ourselves we don't we don't want flags in the church no more the way you don't mind flying flags on the back of your jeeps and your trucks i don't care what the world says i'm from the south ha-ha-ha it's a heritage a heritage and i know i pastored a bunch of not heads too it's a heritage it's a heritage is it a witness is it a witness are you going to bring anybody to church with you of color i'm going to fly this mice my heritage listen i mean that's who i am i'm gonna fly that flag i i'm i'm a i'm of one political view this is my political view i don't care about your political view when i'm in church i wanna know have you received the holy ghost since you believed i don't see nobody taking no jesus flag and putting it on the back of a jeep or a four-wheel drive truck just lifted up 80 inches with 1900 inch tires and rims on it you don't see nobody sticking a jesus flag on the back of it you just say oh that no no that other flag is my heritage this is my heritage this is what i was born in this is a republican never saved me a democrats never saved me but the blood of jesus christ it redeemed me hallelujah i mean if you really want to help me tonight somebody come grab this thing and get to praising god with it if you really want to help me tonight somebody can take it and praise god with it for a few minutes they're always going to be marvelous there's always going to be making fun but the church has got to stay alive i said the church has got to stay alive there's my heritage there's my heritage there it goes i'm proud to be apostolic i'm proud to be jesus name i'm proud to be one god i'm proud to be buried in jesus name there there goes my heritage there goes my heritage there goes my heritage there i'm not ashamed of it show us that in the last days say of the lord i pour out my spirit upon all flesh hallelujah hallelujah that's all right brother you ain't got to do it by yourself my brother's over here waving it he ain't got to do it by himself there's somebody else want to take it this is our heritage we were born into this you say oh brother garnett this is different it's all right just one night let's be a little different for one night this is our heritage listen to me ladies and gentlemen god is not coming back after a church trump's not coming back after a church but jesus is coming back after the church who has made himself ready yeah it's happening right now is that that's showing up i said this is that showing up there's people getting in the aisles something's happening in the holy ghost right now that's showing up i can't stay in here no longer i can't sit here no longer i gotta get out there and praise my god this is my heritage this is my heritage this is my heritage this is who i am this is what i was born into come on young people find you an eldridge chat with them come on young people find your elder and shout with them the lord is soon to come the trump of god's about to sound the daddy christ are about to rise on that great day he's not going to mistake in the church he's looking for a people that's not ashamed of him he's looking for a people without a spot and a blemish he's looking for a people and a call by his name i wouldn't leave this house tonight without going somewhere and giving god a praise i wouldn't leave this house tonight without finding a corner of this church and fill it with that this is that which was spoken by the prophet joel oh there's your healing sister there's your healing brother it's in the house i said miracle signs and wonders follow the believers of god there it is brother there's a miracle there it is sister there's your answer come on i'm proud to be a follower jesus come on come on i'm proud to be a follower of jesus come on i need some young adults to help me tonight i'm proud to be a follower of jesus come on i need some young people to shout with me i'm proud to be a follower of jesus call me jesus only if you want to i'm jesus everything it's never going to be said to me in my family what happened to that we're going to keep the hotel on fire we're gonna keep the presence of
