It is a lie of the devil that only the fellows down in the gutter and across the railroad tracks want to hear it: there are millionaires committing suicide, doctors and lawyers committing suicide, people who have just come to the end and don't know what to do. His text is a real short scripture — he will let them sit this time: with stammering lips and another tongue; five thousand raised a hand that they had spoken in tongues last night; and the Bible said, to whom he said — so many overlook this — this is the rest. The devil said you ain't going to rest tonight; tell him he's a liar: I got the Holy Ghost. When he goes to bed he rests, in a motel he rests; he doesn't stay up fighting little old puny ignorant devils — the Lord fights for him. It also said, wherewith you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing.
- He was preaching years ago down in Old Mexico with brother Goldman and C. P. Williams — so many healing services, three hundred in the altar, people getting healed and getting the Holy Ghost, and Goldman had got sick on him, back out there somewhere vomiting. It was the last night and he was so tired; he said, Lord, I need a good refreshing, I need a good touch — I remember when you got tired and weary, angels came down and helped you; if ever anybody needed some angels, I need them. And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and a little old crippled girl, born that way, got off of the front seat and stood up — she had never stood up — and growths began to disappear, and when they got through about twelve or one he drove till three in the morning, just refreshed, and never felt better in his life, while Goldman in the back seat said, I'm about to die. He has been in the counselling business a lot longer than he needs to be — brother Tenny went and fixed him up and put it in the Challenger, making it worse. A man came to him once he didn't want to take in: cancers all over him, soaked in garlic, carrying one of Barnes's Pentecostal Faith magazines with a healing article, and he pointed at it — where is the Healer, are you the Healer? No, he's up there. The man thought he meant dead and gone to heaven; no, that's Jesus. He wanted to get healed and to be baptized. Barnes told him: go and pray tonight, here are some tracts on water baptism in Jesus' name, read them and understand them, and if you want me to baptize you I'll do it in the morning at ten — thinking that would be the end of it when he read that it was one God, Jesus name. But brother, he was there, and Barnes baptized him, told him how to get the Holy Ghost, and it took Lysol and everything else to get that garlic out of the baptistry. You don't turn anybody down. And he hears the cries: I've tried everything, I'm at the end of the road; unless I have a miracle it's over; I feel so dead, I hate life, I can't stand to think of facing another day; I've lost my direction, I've lost faith — people, God, myself, everybody; does anybody care, do you think God even cares, does he even know I exist; this is beyond me, I'm confused, can you help me. There have been things he said, oh God, I can't, I wish I could — but he hears a still small voice saying, I can, and he seeks the Lord earnestly for a word from the Lord. He began to talk about this scripture: with stammering lips and another tongue will I speak unto this people, and this is the rest — it is the rest, it is the refreshing, and it comes through speaking in tongues and being filled with the Holy Ghost; you can't be depressed and refreshed at the same time. If God withdrew that from him he'd say, take me to the graveyard, Lord — that's the only way I've made it to nearly 883 [as captioned].
- Walk with the Lord a while; some people quit if they don't get what they ask for in two minutes, but sometimes the Lord wants us to pray through — and before you start trying to pray other people through, be sure you have prayed through yourself. He said last night and he'll say it again: he has been asking the Lord, what is the secret, what could the church do that would start a revival — and he said, become overflowing Christians. Remember what I said: after the Holy Ghost has come upon you, you will receive power; and in John — out of your innermost being will flow rivers, rivers of faith, rivers of love, rivers of power, rivers of joy. The trouble with my people, most of them just stay barely full enough to make it themselves; they don't have anything for anybody else — they're trying to get the saints to pray for them. If my people will pray until they're filled with all my fullness, then when they testify my Spirit can flow into the person, when they lay hands on people that are sick my Spirit can flow into them, can refresh them, can remove the depression and the fear. Jesus went about doing good, healing all that was oppressed of the devil; he worries about preachers who go around putting curses on people — Jesus didn't; he blessed them, he healed them; if people make mistakes, pray for them. We've been crying out for the supernatural this week, and the supernatural power of God came down every night and swept the building from one end to the other — families put back together, healings, the baptism of the Holy Ghost rained down from heaven. Every preacher and every saint should cry for it, to be filled with all the fullness of God. There were springs that ran well in the winter and went dry in the summer, and then he found some that run beautifully all summer, gushing out, a blessing to everything that came that way — and the Lord said, if you'll become artesian wells, revival will begin. He has taken a big growth on somebody's body — he saw a lot of them disappear the other night — and that is the overflow of the Holy Ghost: not human, not a speck of it; he has actually looked at a growth and watched it disappear, never touched it; it will do the same thing through your hands — but it has got to be an overflow, or it'll be dead as a hammer. When he feels it gushing up he has to be careful how he touches people: lay his hand flat and they're out; he has found more of them get healed and stay standing if he just puts his fingers on top of the head — there is a power surge there. Saints can so pray until they're so full of the Holy Ghost that when they visit their sick friends and pray for them, they'll be healed; he knows he might get criticised for that, but he's not running for office — he's old, and about to quit anyhow — and we're going to have to teach the saints to do some of it. But that saint must work under his pastor and never get out there alone; the gift will work in them if they stay with their pastor, and it'll leave if they don't — you'd just be out there doing about like a psychic would. You can discern a fellow's got cancer — what good is it if he's not healed? If you can bring healing to him, that's great; otherwise you'd better leave it alone, if you can't bring the truth to him. The cry for the supernatural: the church's cry should be for the supernatural, for the gifts of the Spirit to flow through the whole church. Having one of the nine spiritual gifts doesn't put you over the ministry; the nine gifts are placed in the church to bless it, to edify, to heal the sick — but God has the fivefold ministry, a different setup: these men can have gifts of the Spirit with authority, to speak the word for the whole church and tell them what to do and what not to do. That is God's way of doing things, he's always done it that way, and the saint that will work close to his pastor and listen will be blessed and will be used. Well, his time is gone: let's stand — cry for the supernatural, keep crying for more and more of it. The great apostle Paul, after all of his visions, after all of his being caught up to the third heaven, prayed for all the fullness of God; he kept praying for all the fullness of God — why? So we'd have some for somebody else. He closes in prayer: we love you, Lord; bless this great crowd, heal them that are sick, lift the spirit of depression, refresh them and bless them always, in Jesus' name. Amen.

I want to thank brother Simpson brother Pounders all of you that's helped you've made this what it is I came walking in here I said well they're doing the thing they ought to be doing praising the Lord for what's happened this week we've had the greatest move I've ever seen people were getting the Holy Ghost all over the place last night and when I finally got s hard I couldn't hardly walk and as I was about to leave two more came up and said we just got it I asked the Lord once I said now Lord since you knew all things from the foundation of the world when you looked at all the misery and sickness and you knew this is coming I saidh did you go ahead with it he said well really it's too big for you but he said you look at little old Temple things that don't last a little while said I'm looking at church that'll be here forever and ever and ever but that's a good reason don't you think oh yeah you know we have pain for 5 minutes it seemed like 5 hours you know but with the Lord one day is a thousand years a thousand years a day and he's building the greatest church right now he's he built it 2,000 years ago but he's he's about to the devil's been trembling ever since he built it but he's about to have an nervous breakdown now because it's it's spreading around the world and it'll finally take over and the glory of the Lord will fill this whole earth for a thousand years well let's thank the Lord father thank you for all that you've done for all of your blessings for every soul that's been saved this week for all the great healings in Jesus name in Jesus Jesus name hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah praise the lord well you you can be seated a lady came up last night she had cancer she had a growth she was lost just a little bit before and the Lord to prove to her that he's doing the work on the inside on the cancer he made the growth disappear and that convinced her that he was really real and you got the Holy Ghost all this healing is for one thing for people that don't know the Lord It's to bring them into the kingdom I told somebody I said now you can go out and just pray for the sick if you want to and not lead them on into the whole truth but I said this preach is not I'm not going to kill myself running around praying for people that's got the new morning today and they'll get heal and they'll have it again next month and I just let the doctors have it but now now if I I'm going to preach the whole gospel to them and I found out you know used to we thought well people don't want to hear this and only the fellas that's down in the gutter and across the railroad tracks only ones want to hear it that's a lie of the devil there's millionaires committing suicide there's doctors and lawyers committing suicide there's all kinds of people ending it

but you just take a a big growth on somebody's body and I saw a lot of them disappear the other day other night and you know what that is that's an overflow of the Holy Ghost it's not human nothing not a speck of it it's when the Holy Ghost bubbles up in a river flows out it's the holy spirit that does it see and a lot of times the holy spirit is so moving in you that when you look I've actually looked at a growth and watch it when never touch it hadn't got to pray in part just look and it see it disappear that was the Holy Ghost moving through me and through my eyes it'll do the same thing through your hands but it's got to be an overflow it'll be dead as a hammer nothing will happen overflowing overflowing we need that Supernatural power overflowing in our lives praise God praise God hallelujah and I've noticed a lot of times when I feel it gushing up pardon me for referring but I have to tell you so you'll do it I have to be careful how I touch people if I Lay My Hand flat they're out and I found out that more of them get healed and stay standing up and fall out because I don't know what happens at this SCH blank there's two there's a power surge there the holy ghost moving and I just put my fingers on top of the head amen that's when it's moving mightily now I believe that Saints can so pray until they're so full of the Holy Ghost that when they go visit their sick friends they can pray for them and they'll be healed now I know I might get criticized for that but I'm not running for office I'm old and you know I'm about to quit anyhow and if we're going to have Revival we're going to have to teach the Saints how to go out there and do some of it and if that Saint will work under his pastor and never get out there alone but stay with his Pastor that gift will work in them but it'll leave if you don't work with your pastor and you you'll be com you'll just be out there doing about like a psychic would it's really May a few things may happen but it's never nothing it's uplifting it's going the other way you know you know there's a you can discern a Fell's got cancer what good is it if you he's not healed but if you discern he's got cancer and and you can bring healing to him then that's great so the other just better leave it alone if you can't bring the truth to him I hadn't got started but here but the cry for the supernatural the church's cry should be for the supernatural for the gifts of the Spirit to flow through the whole church and always remember this because you have a one of the nine spiritual gifts don't put you over the the ministry the nine spiritual gifts is placed in the church to bless it to edify to heal the sick and all of that but God has the fivefold ministry this this is a different setup here these men can have gifts of the Spirit with authority they have authority to speak the word for the whole church and to tell them what to do and what not to do and that's a whole lot different than going down here and praying for somebody that's got the headache and seeing them healed this is God's way of doing things he's always did it that way he'll always do it that way and the saint that'll work close to his pastor and listen will be blessed and will be be used praise the Lord praise the Lord praise the Lord hallelujah hallelujah well my time is gone let's stand cry for the supernatural keep crying for more and more of it the great apostle Paul after all of his Visions after all of his
