Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Begin with why: purpose before what and how

  • Life is dominated by what and how questions, but the clarifying question is why — why we prioritize, invest, and react as we do.
  • It is possible to be very busy and very barren when the why question goes unanswered.
  • Purpose cannot be found apart from the Word of God; the believer is to be defined by the Word, not by the world.
  • Paul lived not for his own purpose but for the purpose of Jesus Christ: everything done to the glory of God, following Christ's example.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 10:31-33; 1 Corinthians 11:1

His purpose: to seek and to save the lost

  • The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost; aligning with His purpose means the lost become the priority.
  • Jesus ate with publicans and sinners and went home with the hated of society — His people must learn to connect with people far from God.

Scriptures: Luke 19:10

His purpose: life, and life more abundantly

  • The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy; Christ came so we might have life abundantly — not spiritual intensive care, merely kept breathing.
  • Salvation is one connected whole: grace, faith, confession, repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and the new birth of the Holy Ghost must agree across Scripture.
  • Believing on Jesus is like conception — real change begins there — but the new birth is infancy, not retirement: justification leads into sanctification and finally glorification.

Scriptures: John 10:10; Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:48; Acts 19:5; John 3; John 3:16

Abundant life is kingdom life, not an abundance of things

  • God desires us to prosper as our souls prosper; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.
  • Things become idols when they come between a believer and the kingdom; what a match can burn up cannot satisfy a soul.
  • The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost — that is what abundant living actually looks like.

Scriptures: 3 John (book-only, as spoken); Luke 12:15; Matthew 6:33; Romans 14:17

His purpose: destroy the works of the devil

  • The Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the devil; aligned believers take that fight into their own homes with prayer and fasting.
  • Jesus is not a way among ways — He is the way, the truth, and the life; we contain the answer, and we point people to Him.
  • Baptism is for the remission of sins, not church membership; the invitation closes with an altar call to align our purpose with His.

Scriptures: 1 John 3:8

Can we, everyone right now, just pray and ask for personal revelation to come into our lives? When we walk into a service, and I know you've been standing a while, and I'm going to let you be seated just as soon as we pray. But when we walk into a service like this, we all got up, we got dressed, and we came, and people can plaster on smiles and put their best foot forward, but God knows. God knows he knows what every one of us are facing, whether it's the first time we've walked in here or we've been here with bishop for years and years and years. God knows. And as the song just said, he is for us, and he is with us, and he wants to work in a mighty way in us, and these services are so incredibly important.

Sometimes it's easy to just, you know, kind of just do what we do. But we have no idea the work that God wants to do in our individual lives. And we, literally, it's kind of like the the angels are voting one way, and the demons are voting another way, and we have the deciding vote, every one of us in our own lives. And can we just pray right now that that the spirit of God will speak to us individually where we are?

Father, we come and we thank you for your presence. We thank you, Father, for your goodness. We thank you for bringing us together. But we also know this is much more than just us feeling good on a Sunday. We need you. We need the power of your spirit to do what only it can do. And Father, I open up for personal revelation even as I minister, and I pray that every one of us will open up to what your spirit is saying to us individually. And we pray this in Jesus name. And can the church say amen? Amen. You may be seated.

Some single words are questions. There are a few single word questions that that seem to dominate our lives. I guess five of the most common word questions we often use would be the basic: why, what, when, where, and how. Now, there are two of these in particular that seem to really dominate our life, and that is what and how. What are we going to do? How are we going to do it? What are we going to do today? How are we going to do it? And that those those dominate our life. And the problem is is that there's one that should be used before that, and that is why. Why? Because why is is quite a clarifying word. If you have little children, or if you remember when you did, little children have no problem with the y word. It's like, do this. Why? And then you explain it, and then it's why, and and then you explain it, and it seems like why can just be asked and asked and asked. And unfortunately, many of us got older and more mature, and we've left that word alone. And so we can just get so tied up in the other questions that we really don't deal enough with with the why question.

Here are a few why's that I believe are very important for us to ask ourselves. Why are we prioritizing in our life what we are prioritizing? Why are we investing the resources of our time, our life, our emotions, and our money into what we are investing it in? Why are we driven by what we're driven by? Why, that that drives us, why is that driving us? Why is it so important to us what some people think of us? Now, I know that as Christians we should never get to where we say, well, I don't care what people think of me. They think of me whatever they want. No, that's — I went through a very, very long stage of that, even even as a minister, to where, you know, I just really didn't care what people thought of me, until the spirit, I finally let the spirit work in my life enough as a pastor to start caring what people thought. But but then that does have a limit, and it's like, why do I care so much? Why do I react the way I react? Why am I out of control at at times? Why is my outlook what it is when I get up in the morning? You know, some people see it the glass half full, some half empty, some don't even have a glass. And and it's like, why, why is this my my outlook?

I guess we need to dig down, and dig down, until we ask a very important question, and that is, is why are we on earth anyway? Why, why, why are we here? I think that a failure to effectively answer the why questions allows the lesser questions of life to to literally bury us alive in continual movement. This, these questions of what and how and when and where, and literally what can happen is is, when we don't deal with the why question, then these other questions can literally bury us in continual movement. And what happens is is, we realize that it is possible to be very busy and very barren. It's it's possible. So why, why are we here? So I guess really to answer the why question, we can put a little walk question with it in order to do it. And we could say, what is my purpose? What is my purpose?

Now, I personally believe that one thing that we should get in our minds like never before is these few words: defined by the word, defined by the word. If we are a man, we need to be a man that is defined by the word and not the world. If we are a woman, we need to be a woman defined by the word and not the world. Being defined by the word is what is so very important. It should be very common for us to ask this question when we're challenged: what does the word say about it? What does the word say about it? When we hit, um, challenges in our life, the the first thing that we should do is not call one 800 pastor. That's that's not it. Well, I'm having a problem. No, he's not God. We we first should go to our knees in prayer and to the word of God. You say, you are sounding old-fashioned. Yes, I am, and I am not apologizing for it one bit, because I pastored people long enough to where I started telling some of them that, you know, when you're banging your head against the wall, it only feels better when you quit. And there are people that that just continue to go up against the same thing, and the reason why is is, they're trying to work it out in their own head. They're trying to work it out within themselves. Some people are on such a journey to find themselves that they're totally lost. And what we have to do is go to the word, and be defined by the word of God.

So if we're going to think about our purpose in life, we cannot truly find our purpose apart from the word of God. It can't happen. We see in First Corinthians 10 31-33, and then in the in the first verse of the 11th chapter: whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offense, neither to the Jews or Gentiles, nor to the church of God, even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own prophet, but the prophet of many, that they may be saved. And then the next chapter, first verse: be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. And so what we realize is, we realize that Paul lived not for his purpose, but for the purpose of Jesus Christ. Paul made the purpose of Jesus Christ his purpose. And so in all of our purpose, our why of life, what is it? It is to bring God glory. If you were here Friday night, you you understand a whole lot more about glory probably than you did when you came in, after hearing Brother Mark Morgan.

So I know that this is quite an introduction, but my topic is, his purpose, my purpose. His purpose, my purpose. Now I can say this, and then we're going to get into it. I'm going to talk about it scripturally, and I believe that God is going to speak to some people in a powerful way. But let me just go ahead and reach to the end, and then I'll repeat it when we get there later. If you are trying to find your purpose outside of Jesus Christ, you're really in a mess. You're not going to find your purpose outside of Jesus Christ. It's not going to work.

Now, what I'm what I'm preaching today, what I'm sharing today, can be life-changing, if we step into it and realize his purpose must be my purpose. His purpose is my purpose. And that is to thank God, and to praise God, and to worship God, and to proclaim his greatness, and accomplish his will, and to be changed into his image. I'll tell you what what the purpose is. The purpose is is to not just get hung up on justification when we've been saved, but it's to move into a life of sanctification. And and sanctification is the bridge from justification to glorification. I'm not I'm not trying to sound real big and deep there, it's just real basic. When we're justified, when we're saved, then we move into sanctification, which is a daily walk with Jesus Christ, in an effort and intention to be more like him every day, and and be and be led by the spirit every day, instead of led by the flesh, until one day then we will be glorified.

A major problem is, a lot of Apostolics think that the new birth is the new retirement. That is like a major problem, because many think, if I have been born again, if I have, you know, been born again by the water and by the spirit, and then it's all done. And so what we can find ourselves doing is looking at other people that have not been born again scripturally, and be thinking to them, how can you be so blind? How can you be so blind to what the scripture really says? And we're totally ignoring the spirit that is standing on this side of us, saying, don't you understand that the new birth is pampers and bottles, and and, you know, it's due birth, it's not you're done. And we have so many Apostolics that have been Apostolic 15 years, and they're still in spiritual pampers. And they've been in 20 years, and they're still sucking on a pacifier, because they don't understand that that justification is not the end. It's justification, sanctification, as long as we're living, and then that moves into that that glorification that we're all, that we're all striving for.

So it's choosing his will over our will, if if we're going to accomplish his purpose. We are to align our purpose to his purpose. It's, his purpose must become our purpose. Now, this is where it gets real, because we are to be in submission to his mission. So how do we understand that? Well, sub, submarine, it's real easy, it's under. So we put the mission of our life by submission to his mission. And so when we start doing this, and we intentionally adopt and abra — embrace his mission, then our mission, we understand that our mission apart from his is is not, it's not even worth living. I can just tell you, our life apart from his life, doing our thing apart from it aligning to his thing, is going to be a life that's not even going to be worth living. And the sooner that we understand that, the better off it we will be.

So what was his purpose? Why don't we look in scripture, because it's about the word. It's not about my opinion or your opinion, it's about the word. We see in Luke 19 and 10: for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. That's why he came, to seek and to save that which was lost. And so we align our purpose to where, I'll tell you who the most important people are in this church right now, today, or watching by way of webcast: those that are away from God, those that are lost. Well, no, you're one of the most important people. You're preaching. No, I'm not one of the most important people. If you are here, and you are away from God, or you've never been born again, or you are not connected, you are the most. I promise you, if Jesus Christ walked back in these doors in the flesh, he'd be coming for those, and would not be coming for the found.

And so as we align our our purpose to his purpose, and as as we start living our life for his purpose, and we start treating people the way Jesus treated people — I mean, when you look at the woman that was caught in in adultery, and when you look at the way that Jesus ate with publicans and sinners, and when you look at the way that he went home with with the hated people of society — that should be a clear indication to us that call ourselves Christians, that we really need to start hanging out and connecting with with some bad people. We we really need to be working on how we can connect with some bad people. Yeah, yeah, we we really do. Uh, we don't need just a lot of purely clean friends. We really don't. Well, don't let your your, uh, good be evil spoken of. Well, okay, uh, yeah, right, stud. Let's study that on down. This this thing is about reaching the lost. That's his purpose. This is not about us just figuring out a a, you know, better product that makes our armor shine brighter. It's really not about us just continuing to to shine our own armor. It's not — I'm not I'm not getting on you. I'm just I'm just sharing what I feel that the spirit is saying, because I'm I'm seeing a lot of unfulfilled people. I'm just — I'm seeing a lot of people that that they're really not fulfilled. And and it's not going to be, you're not going to be fulfilled, unless we align our life's purpose to his purpose.

And so as we look at this, and we take it a little bit deeper, I asked today, if you're lost, if if you've not been saved, if I ask, why, why, why are you lost? You you don't have to be lost. If if you're away from God, if you're not close to God, why? You you don't have to be apart from God. God truly loves you. His his purpose is about you. And so as as we come into this, and we realize what what his purpose is, and we realize what our purpose is, we study on in the word of God, and we realize more on his purpose when we read John 10 and 10: the thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and destroy. But but what? But I am come — my purpose — I am come that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly. He came to give abundant life.

If if we took a bunch of buses right now, and we went to the local hospital, and they would let us in, we could tour intensive care, and we would see people that were alive, but they're not alive abundantly. And I promise you that the intention that God has for us is not that we live in spiritual or emotional intensive care. That is not the will of God. He wants us to be alive, and he wants us to be alive abundantly. Abundantly. I'm preaching the gospel this morning. It is an abundant gospel. But then we we have to understand exactly what that means, because God, he just did not robe himself in flesh and and come to this earth, and minister and bleed and die, and and resurrect, and ascend, and all of these things, to provide us a plan of salvation that just kind of keeps us breathing. I know I'm kind of teachy today, but but let's follow with me here. Apostolics, please follow with me. If if salvation for mankind is so important, which obviously it is, for the God of heaven to robe himself in flesh and come as a man — obviously it is important. And what we need as Apostolics is, we need a revelation of the salvation message. And the revelation — you say, what, you're talking to Apostolics? Yes, I'm talking to Apostolics. We need a revelation of the salvation message. Well, what is the salvation message? You say, it's the death, burial, and resurrection. Absolutely it is. But look at everything that went in to the death, the burial, and the resurrection. If it's in the word of God, and it's connected to salvation, then it's very important. So are you ready to open your mind just a little bit more?

Grace is connected to salvation. And you can believe that you're looking at a preacher that, if anybody in this world wants to start talking to me about the grace of God, I'm going to celebrate that with them, because grace is a part of salvation. And then we move to faith being a part of salvation. And when I'm talking to people, even people that are not Pentecostal — because we're going to have to understand that this is not a Pentecostal thing, this is a kingdom thing, it's a kingdom thing. Now, I know I could wade off into that, and I'm watching the clock, so don't get nervous. And I know what time you usually, uh, the landing gear usually comes down. So so I got that.

So when we're talking about putting our faith in God, I'm going to celebrate that. I can move on and understand where in the scripture it talks about confession is connected to salvation. If I'm talking to somebody, and they're talking about how they they have celebrated the grace of God, they've put their faith in God, and they've confessed God — well, you're looking at somebody that's going to celebrate on that level, going to celebrate on that level, and is going to celebrate on this level. You want to know why? Because it's connected to salvation.

Well, now we move into what we're more comfortable with than than repentance and and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. And why do you make a big deal about that? Because that's the way that everyone was baptized in scripture. Well, but I would rather take the words of Jesus Christ than than Peter. Well, now, if Jesus Christ and Peter were tied up, and it doesn't agree, then we've got a major problem throughout all scripture. And if Peter and Jesus are tied up, then Jesus is probably going to be tied up with a lot of other people, and there's a lot of things that's not going to connect. So Matthew 28 and 19, and Acts 2 38, and 8 16, 10 48, 19 5, and all those other — it has to agree. There has to be agreement. Follow with me, Apostolics. There has to be agreement for salvation.

And then we see the new birth of the Holy Ghost, spoken of in John 3. And John 3 16 is a one of the most greatest scriptures, and most quoted, in the whole word of God: that he gave his only begotten son, that whoso believeth — but but before you zero in on 16, don't jump over three, four, five, seven, and all of that. Oh, what are you doing right now? I'm talking about our purpose. And so when we — then when we receive the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues — well, that's weird, well, that's this, that's that. Well, it's Bible. So there's a lot of weird stuff in the Bible. There — but it's in the Bible. And then we even go past that, and we see that he that endureth to the end shall be saved. So we realize that there's going to be an enduring situation, and that that signals to me that every day is not going to be good. Because if it's talking about that, he that endureth to the end shall be saved, then you know, I don't endure good days. I enjoy good days. I endure bad days and and challenges. And and that's where we have to understand about the purpose of God.

Well, how about believing on on Jesus Christ? I can tell you right now, when someone believes on Jesus, and they put their faith in him, that something incredibly powerful happens to them. At that point, there is change that happens at that point. Do not be guilty, ever, Apostolic, of looking down on someone that says that, I believe, I've put my faith in Jesus Christ. How I view that — I view that as conception. You can believe that 30 years ago, whenever melanie looked at me and said that she was expecting, and I realized that we had conceived a child, I guarantee you, from the time she told me that to this day, I never thought the same again. From that moment when I knew that there was a conception that had happened, I didn't think the same. The world didn't feel the same to me. I knew that the future was totally different. It — I mean, there was great change that happened to me at that point. kendra was not born for nine more months. We did not have a birth at that point, but we had a conception, and there was a major thing that changed.

Apostolics, if we are going to walk, if we're going to align our purpose to his purpose, we're not going to just camp down on one little bit of doctrine, and then think that every other thing is nothing until that happens. Now, I know I'm out on thin — I said that's pretty much where I live anymore. But what God is trying to do is trying to get his people to understand his plan, and every bit of his plan, to be able to be more effective with his purpose. God is doing a mighty work in in the lives of a lot of people. There are major good things that are happening, as crossing all kinds of denominational lines. What we have to do is, we have to elevate our view to the king and the kingdom. The king in the kingdom. Until we start looking at King Jesus and his kingdom, until we start digging in to the kingdom principles by which we should live, until we start looking through the filter of the kingdom, we're going to miss it. We cannot allow a local church to hold the kingdom hostage.

We we understand the importance of of our pastor. We understand the importance of a church. But but listen, king and kingdom is way above a pastor and a church. It's way above my father and my mother and my fam — the kingdom culture has to has to move past our family culture, our religious culture. It — the king and the kingdom, it's a kingdom culture, and that's going to be the only culture that is going to answer his purpose. His purpose. And so when we're talking about about his purpose, we we move, and we understand that abundant living is is not, is not talking about just having a lot of things. It's not about having a lot of things. That's that's — it's not. It's clear in the word of God. I I don't — I don't know where a lot of that prosperity gospel comes from. I just — I can't get it. And I know he wants us to to prosper. But when when we think about prospering, why don't we go to Third John, where it speaks about, may you prosper as your soul prospers? Why don't we start bringing all of these scriptures in in to line? In Luke 12 15, where he he he said unto them, take heed and beware of covetousness, for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. He he came to give us abundant life, but it's not going to come, that new car smell — it's it's going to fade out soon in the bills, and you're going to be wondering why, what did I do? That that new house, or whatever, it's all these things.

Matthew 6 33 says what? Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you. Things is not talking about a four-wheeler. It's not talking about a vacation home. It's not talking about a huge house, or a new car, or a nicer dress, or or all of these things. Whenever I was preaching at poa years ago, and I and I was using that that scripture, I said, you know, some of you would be better off if your hunting camp would burn down. Some of you would be better off if your bass boat would sink. Some of you would be better off if somebody would break in and steal all of your hunting equipment. So, somebody — some of you be better off if your camper or your rv would burn down. Why? Because these things are com — nothing wrong with it if you own it, it doesn't own you. But some of these things are coming in between you and the kingdom of God, the purpose, the purpose of God.

We see in Romans 14 17: for the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but it's righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. And I can I can tell you right now that that abundant living, whenever you embrace righteousness, and you have peace, and you walk in this earth in joy, when you have joy you have all, empowered by what? The Holy Ghost. Now we're talking about abundant living. You don't have to have a nice car and a nice house to live abundantly. You don't have the — you don't have to have the nicest suit, or the nicest dress or clothes, or whatever. No, it's — no, that's a distraction for us to think that something that can burn up with a match has something to do with us living abundantly. We need to be delivered from that mindset, because if a match can burn it up, it cannot satisfy your soul.

And so we're talking about abundance based on the kingdom. And so I just quickly say to you today, we're talking about the kingdom, we're talking about abundance, we're talking about our purpose, we're talking about salvation, and deliverance, and healing, and living by kingdom principles. And when we align to his purpose, we seek the loss to see them save. Yes, we do. We we live and share abundant life. But then there's another dimension to this that we find in First John 3 and 8: he that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. You ready? It's clear right here: for this purpose was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. This is where we come in, church. He is telling us that we can align to his purpose, and we would have the power to destroy the works of the devil. So what I'm seeing here is is a life that that is much greater than just being faithful to church. I'm seeing a picture here that is much greater than just doing what is said from the pulpit and paying our tithes. Uh, I'm seeing something that is much greater. And if we stay on that level, we will never understand the purpose of God. We must move in to the purpose of God, and that is to destroy the works of the devil.

You say, well, that sounds good, you know, philosophically. Break it down. All right, I'll break it down. The junk that you're dealing with in your home right now, in your marriage kind of being messed up, and all the fighting and going on that that happens, you know, in the home or whatever — can somebody call a general meeting in the den, and can somebody say, listen, we may not have all the answers here, but there's really not much joy in this house at all, and and there's not a lot of peace in this house at all, and and we know that there is an answer to this. And so what we're going to do right now is, we're just going to join hands, and we're going to pray. And I'm not I'm not saying that you got to pray till somebody gives tongues interpretation. I'm not saying that you got to pray until somebody gives a word. I'm not saying that. Can you just join hands and say, uh, hey God, uh, the the what's going on in this house is not pleasing you, and we really need your help. And so then could you decide like, okay, tomorrow we're all not gonna eat until three o'clock, or or we're going to fire — what, preacher, are you crazy? No, we're crazy because we're not doing these kinds of things. Because he came that we might have life, and that we might have it more abundantly, and he came to destroy the works of the devil.

And as we would look through scriptures — and I'm not going to take any more, because time is is gone, but when we look through scripture — we realize scripturally that he is a murderer, that he is a liar, that he is a thief, that he is a destroyer, that he is a devourer, that he is a deceiver. And whenever I look at this, and I see the list of what he is and what he does, but then I realize that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. So I see that as I align my purpose to his purpose, I'm dealing maybe in my life with with things that that have been killed. Well, guess what? He can bring things to life. You do remember that he said, Lazarus, come forth, and Lazarus was dead. You you do — you do remember that, right? You you do remember that he sent a prophet into a valley of dry bones, and said, start prophesying to those dry bones. Now I'm really going to get out there and challenge somebody. Why don't you walk back in your house, and look at all of those dry bones, and why don't somebody stand up and start prophesying right in the middle of that home? You say, well, my husband may think I'm crazy, or my wife may think I'm crazy, or my kids may think I'm crazy, or whoever is in the house might think I'm crazy. Are are we going to to keep limiting the purpose of God, and what all God can do in our lives, based on what somebody in the human realm thinks is crazy? Is that what we're going to continue to do? Are we going to continue to say, God, I see that revelation, I see that power, that that — that's fantastic, but my grandpa wouldn't agree to that, so I'm not going to do it. God, I I see in the word what all that is, but my dad doesn't agree with that. God, I I see all that, but but my husband, or my wife, or my kids — at some point we're going to have to decide individually, I am going to align. If if my husband doesn't, if my wife doesn't, if my kids, if my parents don't, if my grandparents don't, whatever it is, that's not going to stop me from saying, his purpose is now my purpose. And when we decide to start living like that, then our lives are going to truly change, because Jesus Christ said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. He did not say, I am a way, I am a truth among truths, I am a way among ways, I am a life among lives. He he did not say that. Jesus came and said, I am the way, the truth, and the life.

I had a neighbor come to me right before I moved from from Alexandria. I was taking out the trash, and she's taking out her trash, and she saw that we were moving, and and so she she said, uh, she said, hey, I hate that you're moving. And I said, well, you know, we have to move. And she said, can I ask you something? And I said, well, sure. She said, before you move, can you come and pray the spirits out of my home? And I said, uh, well, talk to me about about those spirits that are in your home. And so we stood out there, and we were talking about the spirits that were in her home, and we were talking about what all she had done. She had gone and bought these these rocks. She had bought incense. She was burning incense. She was doing all kinds of things that um that she thought would get rid of that. And I said, look, uh, we're going to come over, melanie and I will come over, and and we will pray, and and we will pray those spirits out of your home. I say, we will. I said, but what you do right now is, you walk back in, and you throw every rock away. I don't care how much you've paid for it. You throw all the incense away. Any books that you have bought, any materials that you have bought about it, you clean all of that out, throw that away. I said, because Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, the life. So, you know, he is the rock. But that's a whole other story. But we're not — you, in dealing with him being the rock, you've got these other rocks, and these other rocks have to go. Everything has to go. It all has to go, in the name of Jesus. And then we did go over, and we and we did pray, and things did change for the good. Why did they change? Because we aligned our purpose with his purpose. Quit trying to be the answer to people. We are not the answer. We contain the answer. We can point people toward the answer. We must move out of the God zone, and let God be God, and align our lives to his purpose.

People need to be born again. People need to experience all of that, and come to repentance, and be baptized in his name, and filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost. But but, as I move quickly to a close, those of us that have been raised in this — have you thought about how hard of a decision that is for somebody? Have have you — have you thought about what what all they have to deal with, in order to make that kind of a decision? Why don't you think right now in your mind what it would be like, if you walked in to your house, if I walked into my house right now, and I and I started talking to melanie and kendra and braden, and I told them, you know what, I feel like that being baptized in Jesus name is wrong, and and I'm going to go be baptized a different way. All right, what what would that do to to my — what kind of pressure would that be?

We need to be very sensitive, and this is where we've got to make sure what we're talking to people, how we're getting involved in people's lives, is coming from the word of God, and not just a bunch of our thinking that we spit out. Well, why? Because it's about seeing people saved. It's not about just adding members to center point. It's not — please hear me, please hear me. If we could ever get to where we were more focused on connecting people with Jesus Christ than our local church, it would be amazing what could happen. Of course we want people to come to our church. Of course, absolutely. But that's not the most important thing. The most important thing is people having a relationship with Jesus Christ. That could happen in their homes for weeks, in a Bible study, before they ever come, or if they ever come.

I don't know who all is here today. If you've never given your heart to God, we want you to give your heart to God. We want you to make that decision. We want you to be baptized in Jesus name. It will not make you a member of this church. We do not baptize to be a member of this church. Baptism has nothing to do with being a member of this church. We're baptized in Jesus name for the remission of our sins. We'd love for you to come back, but if you never come back, that's that's not the most important thing. The most important thing is your sins being remitted, with the name of Jesus Christ being called over you, and being filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost. That's the most important thing. It might be a Pentecostal doctrine, but the Pentecostals don't own it. This is not just a — God help us to realize, this is not just a Pentecostal thing. This is a king and kingdom thing. People that that are dealing with spirits today, that there are spirits — you may have been born again, but when when we're born again, that doesn't mean we're never going to deal with it, with another spirit. We deal with spirits all the time. And so if you're here today and you need deliverance, guess what, you came to the right place, because we'll pray for you in the name of Jesus. And and it won't be some secret thing that we have. It's the power of Jesus Christ.

And so, as we stand together, church, I'm just begging you, would you make his purpose your purpose? Would you make his purpose your purpose? I'm opening up the front right now, and it's just simply for, if you want to give your heart to God, if you need deliverance, if you need healing, if if you need an aligned vision, if if you need more of a kingdom vision, if you need to align your purpose, we're going to pray. We're going to sing. We're going to worship. We're going to pray, and the spirit of God will do a great work for anyone who will open up and let him do that work. So any of that that I have said, if you're in need of that, or you're you're desiring that, you're desiring your your purpose to be greater in line with with his, would you just step out right now and walk to the front? Because the spirit of God is going to do a work in lives right now.

If you've never been born again, please come. Come down. We we have — we have people that will talk. If you have questions, we will not push. We will not force. Will not do anything weird to you, like Pentecostals are kind of known for. No, no, it's it's about the spirit of God right now. Thank you for coming. Move as close as you can, because there are many people that are coming forward right now. So the spirit of God knows, the spirit of God knows right now, why every one of you walked forward. And so can you just close your eyes and lift your hands to heaven? And I would like — sanctuary, I would like for us to turn this entire sanctuary into a prayer room right now. So can every one of us, every one of us in this sanctuary, can we reach out to God in our own way, and just talk to him?

Father, we come. We come before you wanting your spirit to do what only your spirit can do. Father, help us to move past any any mental blocks, those things in our mind that has continually just kept us from from going further in you, in things that you're speaking. Father, we pray for greater revelation. I pray right now, and I — I bind anything that would be coming against anyone who has walked forward, or is standing in this sanctuary, who's truly reaching out to you. Give us, give us revelation right now in our spirit. Father, would you speak to people right now, in Jesus name. Church, let's talk to him. Let's talk to him. I'm not trying to work anybody up to anything. I'm just saying, would you please just let the spirit talk to you? Would you please just let the spirit do what only the spirit can do, in the name of Jesus.
