Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Call no man your father

  • He gives honor to Pastor Carpenter, to his family, and to the ministry team, and greets the house on behalf of his wife Lois, who could not be present.
  • His text, Matthew 23: be not called Rabbi, for one is your Master, even Christ — and call no man your father upon the earth, for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
  • 'Daddy issues' is the informal name for the psychological challenges that grow out of an absent or abnormal relationship with a father; a father should give unconditional love, provision, discipline, protection, teaching, work ethic, time, and wise counsel, and the deficiencies follow a child for life.

Scriptures: Matthew 23:5-9

Daddy issues — in the Bible, and in his own house

  • Cain's anger, Lot's daughters, and Jacob all show the pattern: Jacob felt his father's love only when Isaac mistook him for Esau, and wrestled at the brook until his name was changed from supplanter to prince.
  • His own story: his father was killed in a car wreck when he was an infant; his mother never grieved her own father's suicide; his stepfather had never grieved either — and as a toddler he would wander a city bus calling strange men 'daddy.'
  • His lifelong hope is the high priest who can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin.
  • Jesus knew those feelings in his own household — a stepfather who could doubt, siblings who did not believe — and in Luke's Gospel the twelve-year-old in the temple answers his frantic mother that he must be about his Father's business.

Scriptures: Hebrews 4:15; Luke (book-only, as spoken)

Father means primary source

  • In Hebrew, the word translated 'father' is the dictionary's first word and means primary source: trace a man back to his source and you know what he can be.
  • Jesus's severe sayings — let the dead bury their dead; a disciple must hate his father — are not contempt for parents: the commandment to honor father and mother stands, and Jesus defended it against the traditions that emptied it.
  • Eternal decisions must not be made on temporary things.

Scriptures: Luke 9:59; Luke 14:26

The Father who gives

  • The Jews sought to kill Jesus not only for breaking the Sabbath but for calling God his Father, making himself equal with God: the child of a source is what the source is.
  • Isaiah's promised child is called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father; the Son, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.
  • Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from the Father; if earthly fathers, being evil, give good gifts to their children, how much more the heavenly Father — it is his good pleasure to give the kingdom.
  • His youngest half-sister could smile and ask their father for fifty dollars; he would have feared to ask for five. The difference, he says, is knowing you have a daddy who loves you.

Scriptures: John 5:18; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:6; James 1:17; Matthew 7:11; Luke 12:32

Pray to the Father, worship the Father

  • Pray and give to the Father in secret, and the Father rewards openly; forgive, and your Father forgives you.
  • Jesus taught his own to begin, 'Our Father which art in heaven' — not 'my Father': the brother and sister beside us share the same Father.
  • The hour has come when the true worshipers worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeks such to worship him.
  • He names the church's hidden toll — fear, anxiety, addiction, and suicide among Holy Ghost-filled people — as daddy issues, and calls the house to release earthly fathers as their primary source, call God 'Father,' and let him pull them close in the altar.

Scriptures: Matthew 6:6; Matthew 6:4; Matthew 6:15; Matthew 6:9; John 4:23

life changed my life and I'm trusting that it'll change your life today verse 5 of Matthew 23 but all of their Works they do for to be seen of men they make broad their filteries and enlarge the borders of their garments and they love the uppermost rooms at feasts and the chief seats in the synagogues and greetings in the markets and to be called of men Rabbi Rabbi but be not ye called Rabbi for one is your master even Christ and all ye are Brethren I think we're all together so far on this but the next verse threw me for a loop years ago and call no man your father upon the Earth for one is your father which is in heaven call no man your father on the earth for one is your father which is in heaven and I'm preaching today about daddy issues daddy issues but I I don't want you to immediately put that over on somebody you know that has daddy issues I think once we get to the word today you'll realize maybe all of us got a few issues and that we need a Heavenly Father amen amen would you clap your hands one more time at the word of God his anointing that we feel in this place open our mind to receive Revelation father that our hearts forever be changed by Your Word In The Name of Jesus God bless you you may be seated this term Daddy Issues is an informal phrase for the psychological challenges resulting from an absent or an abnormal relationship with one's fathers there are certain things that a father should provide in relationship with his children a father should provide unconditional love that means there's nothing the child can do to make you love them more or love them less we're not always happy with them but we always love them unconditionally like our heavenly father loves us a father should provide food housing of some degree should be able to give proper discipline proper teaching a father should protect the well-being of their child that's physically but it's also emotionally and very well spiritually got to protect the well-being of our children a father should teach good work ethics that's lost in this generation a father should spend quality time with his children should give wise counsel on and on and on we can make the list of what a father should be in relationship with their children and when fathers fail to do these things in relationship deficiencies show up in the child that become Landmark battles that the child deals with usually for the entirety of their life not until they're 18 and move off and do their own thing usually these deficiencies show up and are there for the entirety of their lives psychiatrist and psychologists tell us that you can link most emot battles to Daddy Issues the immoral perversions often link to Daddy Issues anxieties fears angers rebellions addictions Suicidal Tendencies all of these they tell us can be linked back to Daddy Issues it's interesting that many characters from the word of God actually demonstrate these issues and if you're looking for it you will find it perhaps in the very first man born to mankind Cain Cain deals with anger and hatred and Rebellion specifically toward his brother now if anybody has an excuse maybe maybe his daddy Adam does Adam was never a child he never had a physical example of what a father was so if anybody had an excuse maybe Adam does but something in the relation relationship with his son Cain and there's typical daddy issues as he's dealing with anger that he can't control hatred that he can't control and we know that he slays his brother how about these two girls lot's daughters who are so trying to find Value from their dad that they get him drunk and have a child each from him trying to show their dad how much value he has and they're wanting to bring the line of family to the Next Generation this is how people with daddy issues began to act and behave Mary Magdalene of the New Testament she who was healed of seven diseases and delivered of seven possessions but what got her into that place as you look at the story of Martha Mary and Lazarus it begins to be clear there was some daddy issues there but maybe the character that means the most to me is Jacob Jacob deals with Daddy issue so strongly he is the twin but he's the second born of twins and when his brother Esau is Born the Bible only says of Esau that he was Ruddy or red complexion and hairy all over he's a man's man at Birth Esau and Jacob dotes on on Esau he loves the fact that he hunts in the fields for the Beast of the fields and he loves the fact that he smells like a man he loves everything about Esau but Jacob is so different and we don't see that love and that compassion that Jacob has or that that Isaac has for Esau we don't see that in Jacob's life in fact the only time that we find Jacob getting the love that he needs the respect he needs the value that he needs from his father is when he actually tricks his blind father and his father thinks it's Esau and that's when he's loved on and blessed and he's anointed and given purpose you're talking about daddy issues so it's no wonder that when Jacob begins to run away from home he's got some moral problems it's no wonder that he not only marries a beautiful young lady but he marries her and and her sister then he has children by two other women outside of Covenant I know we don't like to look at our heroes and tear them down but I just want to see you want you to see how much he is struggling with the daddy issues and he's desperately trying to find somebody a woman two women three women four women that would so love him and fulfill that place where he feels like he's respected and valued in fact when he realized he's going to go home now and he's going to meet Esau he realizes if he's the same man he was when he left Esau kill him that's why he has to go across the brook and there he wrestles with a theophany of God or an angel as it's interpreted or translated and he declares I will not let you go until you touch me until you change me every one of us have to have a moment like this with God that it doesn't matter what dysfunctionality we were raised or what traditional religious background that we are of we've got to personally get a hold of God ourself and say you've got to touch me and you've got to change me because I cannot be the same daddy issues and now his name is changed from heel Grabber supplanter which speaks about his very actions from birth and the conniving that he was and the angel declares now you're a prince that has power with God you're talking about a name change that fulfills that need of daddy issues in his life a prince the power is from God I look through the word of God and find these characters it's easy for me to see them because I myself have dealt with daddy issues most of my life and when I tell you this and confess this this to you I'm not talking about until I got the Holy Ghost I received the Holy Ghost at 5 years of age I'm not talking about until I prayed back through after some backsliding years I'm not talking about that I'm talking about just a handful of years ago after I've been preaching and ministering all over the world I finally realized I've got to deal with my stuff and I began to see in my life some typical daddy issue struggles my dad got the Holy Ghost in San berino California he wasn't yet introduced to my mom who got the Holy Ghost very close to the same time and they were both new in the church but since they were single they began to notice each other imagine that and so the man that would be my dad the woman that would be my mom began to date the pastor began to encourage them he was an he was an ultraconservative Pastor he said you've got so many changes going on in your life you need to really slow down this this dating and so they were married in 6 months now in case you're wondering that's not slowed down nine months from the day that they were married they had a baby girl which would have been my older sister while my sister even while Mom was carrying me in just a year or so she got news that her dad who she loved more than any person in this world her dad who she was a daddy's girl who dad who she had wrapped around her finger committed suicide as he took drugs and alcohol together after fighting with my mom's mom and she never got over her dad's suicide never all of her life she didn't learn to grieve because of the dysfunctionality of her past she never grieved properly and so Mom is carrying me and she is crying almost every day hurt emotionally but not getting over what she is happening to her life when I was just a infant just a child little over one years of age my dad was driving one night Southern California storm came up it was so late he must have fallen asleep because his foot never left the accelerator he kened off the road and hit a small tree where his seat belt broke his chest crushed into the steering wheel dad was instantly taken on to his reward and now mom who never grieved properly for her lost dad whom she loved so much is now left without a husband and she's got two children and what they did not even know at the time is that she was pregnant with who would be my younger sister the next few months was a whirlwind of time where Mom did not want to be alone and families open themsel up in the church and they would let us and the two kids and then the three kids live with them until we absolutely drove them crazy and they would kindly say you're going to have to move and we go to the next house and the next place grandma used to tell me at this time that Mom didn't drive and we'd take the city bus and I would often get out from behind her watchful eye walking down the aisle of the city bus reaching up my hands to any tall dark-haired man calling him daddy W to be picked up even at that age missing something in my life meanwhile all the way across the United States in a state called Georgia was a man who had married and had two children his wife got cancer and she passed away when the children were very young in fact they would have been 2 years older than my sister and four years older than my sister so someone thought the best thing that they could do is introduce these families the man that would be my stepdad did not grieve properly either because of the abuse that he faced as he was growing up so we've got two families that got a lot of sympathy and a lot of empathy for each other but they're both dysfunctional they've not learned to grieve my stepdad began to date my mom but it's Georgia in California and so there was only two meetings one of them was to come see us the second one was to come marry my mom they dated via what we call snail mail and they wrote letters back and forth there was longdistance landlines but the price to talk for 30 minutes from Georgia to California in the late ' 60s was you know 30 minutes might have been $75 that was a lot of money back then and so they wrote letters dad came out to visit mom but grandma told me that he was not allowed to meet me they hid me the whole time he was there and then Dad came out to marry mom and it was after he said I do that they're like oh by the way here's your new son Timbo I don't know if I was that much of a heathen or I was just all boy as we say or what but but the family thought it best him not to meet me until after he was married and death do us part so here you go when I tell you that God was so good to us yet there were times and spaces that it was so dysfunctional because Mom and Dad never dealt with the grief of their loved ones in fact I was never allowed to even mention the name of my father my half stepsister and step brother was never allowed to mention the name of their mama it was just somehow swept under the rug like we didn't have a former father and a former mother I grew up with dysfunctionality and any time had something happened in the family and blame began to be pointed I mean I I was the scapegoat and it was your son did this and then it was your daughter did that and it it was ugly it was ugly and this is a Godly family on now loved God on praising the Holy Ghost but yet they didn't deal with their stuff and so now their stuff is being brought On to the Next Generation I can't tell you how many times in my mind I thought that God had cheated me because if my dad was still alive he'd take me fishing like I like to do and play ball with me like I like to do and my stepfather didn't have the time or didn't have the interest to do these things I somehow felt cheap Ed that I would be loved I'd be respected I'd be valued if if my dad was still alive and I blamed God at different times in my life that he had cheated me when we began to get into Times of my teens it was not a beautiful situation because like Jacob if I couldn't find it in my father then I was going to find it somewhere and when I began to date it wasn't long until I dated all the girls in our youth group and tried to make every one of them fall in love with me just to move to the next one I quickly got a an interpretation as a player I wasn't trying to be a player I told every one of them I I want to meet a million girls and go a million places I just was being honest until finally all the wise mamas in the church are like don't date Tim don't get around him so then I thought I had run through all the girls of the church I just backslide and run through all the girls in Georgia and I began to get myself in some big time trouble because I was looking for respect and vow you and I couldn't find it anywhere there's hope that I've had all my life because the scripture tells Us in Hebrews 4:1 15 that we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities but was in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin so every time I would deal with lack of respect or vow you or feel like I had been cheated I knew that there was a place I could go that Jesus Christ would be a high priest they go between for me uh and if I would pour out my heart with mercy and Grace he would hear me and there would be hope and there would be a shift and a change that I could make but just in the past few years when I decided to look at this fresh I wanted to see more than that because the scripture says he can be touched with the very feelings of our infirmities because he was in all parts tempted like as we are does he really know the thoughts I've had does he really feel the emotions and the feelings that I have gone through so I began to look at Jesus Christ again this high priest not in a traditional way but absolutely in a Biblical way and I I want to walk through this with you please please understand it's not traditional but I'll stay in the word of God first thing that we find is that Jesus absolutely starts off with three marks against him because he he has his mama that is pregnant with him and she's not married none of us are surprised by that because we know the story how Gabriel declares and the prophecies declare the Virgin Mary will bring forth the child but what you've got to understand that he's born into a place and a culture where they did not believe that he's the Christ and that his mother was a virgin in fact the man that she's engaged to Joseph when he finds out he absolutely doesn't want the baby and he doesn't want her anymore he's going to put them both away it's not until God gives him a dream and speaks to him in the night time and says Joseph this is of god you need to marry her and raise this child that Joseph now begins to do the right thing however I think traditionally we have always thought oh now Joseph is jumping up and clicking his heels and he's happy to be a part probably not probably there were many times that he wondered is this really the Christ child did the angel really come to Mary or did she cheat on me in our engagement there had to be times when things weren't going good in their relationship when there were struggles that he fought this in fact I think I can prove it to you later on in the ministry of Christ that this the book says that the siblings or the brother and sisters half brothers and sisters of Jesus came with the mother Mary to see Jesus in his ministry but the Bible makes it clear that they did not believe in Jesus he's raised in a household where his brother his half brother does not believe in him does not think he's the Messiah does not think he's the Christ all of these feelings compounding in Christ about he's not respected like he should be respected he's not valued like he should be valued they don't even believe that he's the anointed of God my question is where do they get that from because it couldn't have been Mary I mean she she was there but it must have been a stepfather that every once in a while began to wonder began to doubt now I know we had a dream but how many of us receive prophecies and we receive dreams but when tough times come we begin to doubt was that really a Dream from God was that a true prophecy or was that just somebody speaking something in my ear did I really hear from God even when we hear from God in dreams sometimes we doubt this is just the birth and the upraising but we have a clue when Jesus gets 12 years old I I'm telling you the only reason why this story is in the Gospel of Luke is for me Jesus is 12 his stepfather Carpenter is not only a carpenter but he's probably a businessman and they've going to take a few days off to take a vacay so they're going to go from Gile down to Jerusalem there they're going to take a few day vacation they've got to get back because there's a time schedule he's a businessman he's got things to do he's important Etc so now they've had their vacation and everybody's going back home and they're a day Journey back toward the house when finally Mary and others look around and says 12-year-old Jesus is not here and they are frantic and they want to know where he's at Mary has tremendous pressure because she has lost the Christ you got to understand the pressure it's been entrusted to her to raise him and now she has lost the savior of the world and so they traced their steps back you know the story finally they go all the way back to Jerusalem and there they find Jesus he's blowing the minds of the pastors with his knowledge in the church and his authority that he speaks with and we're impressed and they were impressed but who's not impressed is Mama and when you read what she says I'm going to paraphrase it for you she basically says you have been so immature and you have been so selfish you've not been thinking about me and you've not been thinking about your family how could you do this to us you should have at least texted tell tell us what's going on he has been now 3 days on his own he's 12 is he eating anywhere where is he sleeping mama is frantic and so she lets her frantic be heard by him to him when she says you've been very immature and very selfish and when Jesus hears what his mama says he rebukes her on two levels the backand is about to come I can see it he rebukes her and the first rebuke is this don't you know which means this I understand that my half siblings don't believe who I am and don't have confidence in me I understand that my stepfather doubts who I am at times but you Mom of all people you've got to know who I am and you can't be doubting what burns in my heart and is driven in my soul don't you know and the second rebuke is and also by the way that man is not my Daddy I got to be about my father's business not carpentry the word he rebukes her on two levels it's why the Bible I know this is tough for us to hear it's why the Bible is very clear after this story that it says that Jesus went home and there he M grew and matured and respect with both favor with God and man now the difference between me and Jesus of course is that he did all this without sin he felt the very feelings of our infirmities without sin not so us right I began to realize that growing up Jesus dealt with some of the same thoughts that I thought and some of the same feelings and some of the same emotions that I struggled with began to give me great hope but it's not just what you see as he's growing up this is also into his ministry let me just throw some of these out Luke 9 and 59 I believe it is there's a disciple that wants to follow Jesus to the end of the world and Jesus begins to talk to him and the man says wait a minute my dad's not well he's sick he's not doing good just let me go and bury my daddy then I will follow you and do anything you want and go everywhere and Jesus said just let the dead bury the dead I mean how does that happen zombies out there digging Graves Jesus is saying you're trying to make an Eternal decision based on some natural or temporary things and when you make Eternal decisions it better be on Eternal consequences and not on temporary things but when you look at this it looks like Jesus cares nothing for the relationship of this father with this son Luke 14 and 26 Jesus very strongly says if any man comes to me and hate not his family his father I he he cannot be my disciple iple why why why is the word so harsh there why didn't Jesus say Hey you know if you follow me there's going to be decisions you make that some of your family members aren't going to be happy with but he didn't say that he said if you're going to follow me you got to hate your father whoa It's like when we were kids and we went in the house and built the Treehouse out back and soon as we got it finished we took that paint that was left over and we wrote on the side of the wall no girls allowed cooe givers I mean what were we thinking it's like Jesus is going to start this great club and the only question he's going to ask you is hey do you hate your daddy well no well you can't be a part you hate your daddy oh yeah come on bubba it looks like this but we know that this is not the case for even the Ten Commandments tells us that we are to honor our father and our mother it's the first commandment with promise that if we honor them our life will be long upon the Earth we find Jesus fighting for this Ten Commandment in the gospels when they're taking money and they're saying instead of taking care of our father we're going to do it to this of the kingdom and that to the kingdom and he's saying you're making the law of God of none effect by your tradition Jesus is fighting for this Ten Commandment so what is happening here first thing that you need to know is that Jesus probably most likely thought in Hebrew language now we know the language that he was speaking in the mix of the Greek and that was also there and but he had to have thought in a Hebrew language when times are tough you find him speaking that it's Hebrew he's speaking he does this several times you'll find the disciples speaking things that are Hebrew they must have raised their children to think Hebrew and then to interpret it into whatever language they were speaking the disciples even John talks about the pool of Shilo or silom and he says the pool of silom means sent not in Greek it don't you have to go back to the Hebrew word Shilo and there Shilo means sent often times they talk the pavement and they said the pavement where the Justice or the Injustice of God happened and they gave the Hebrew name galtha is is a Hebrew name often times they're used in Hebrew I'm convinced he spoke Hebrew and this is important because the word father much different in Hebrew than any other language that I have been able to study the first word in the Hebrew dictionary is the word translated father first word in their dictionary transliterated it would be OB a WB in English and it is a powerful understanding it means more than father but it means primary source principal Source we can understand how that can be translated father because there has to be a source and from the source which is a father than begotten begins to happen spiritual language or spiritual lineage is extremely important it but to the Jews physical lineage was extremely important when you began to read through your Bible you'll get to somewhere in Chronicles and all of a sudden you're going to read page after page of things that look like this bobia beget bito bito beget beet she I mean it's just and it's like what we do is we're like yeah read that Mark it off the bread because the lineage means nothing to us we're in the West we're of a different mindset in fact we find it even in the gospels that one of the Gospel traces the lineage of The Stepfather all the way back and the other traces the lineage of Mary all the way back because this is the understanding if you could trace your lineage back to a primary source of power and value everything that primary source is you can be that's what fatherhood is this is why when the Jews begin to talk to Jesus and Jesus begins to tell them it doesn't matter that you declare yourself the children of Moses I could raise up of these rocks that they were in they were incented they were upset they were livid because their lineage means so much if I trace it back to Abraham I'm the child of Abraham therefore AB everything Abraham was I can be Jesus blows them away when he begins to tell them you're the children of the devil because you act like your primary source comes from the liar of the devil there's a beautiful understanding that Jesus throughout the gospel and we find this even in the Old Testament but the Bible will declare that who the people of God are is those that love the Lord and keep his Commandments it does not matter if you have been raised in Apostolic on this all your life or you've never even heard about it if you love the Lord and keep his Commandments then you become a child of God I want you to see this even more so John 5:18 you've been so good to help us pull it up on the screen this is what we know that the Jews sought the more to kill Jesus because he had not only broken the Sabbath that's what we know but do you see this also because he had not only broken the Sabbath but said also that God was his father making him self equal with God understand that the Jews did not call God their father throughout the whole Old Testament no you'll only find five or six times when God is referred to his father in the Old Testament and one of them is the greatest Oneness message that I have ever seen and that's Isaiah when it begins to declare that unto you a child is born a son is given government should be upon his shoulder us should call his name wonderful counselor the Mighty God the that when the Christ child would be born he would be the Everlasting father that's a beautiful Oneness message the Jews did not call god father because if they called him father that would mean that whatever he was they could be so when Jesus shows up on the scene and he's talking father everything I'm only doing my father told me to do I'm I'm only saying what my father told me to say my father has sent me and that's why I'm going to do this work over and over he's talking about his father and they're like wait a minute if you're calling God your father then everything that God is you can be that's right that's right he didn't have the Revelation that we have thank God for our Revelation in fact this is what Paul begins to tell us in Romans when he says that we are joint hirs with Christ and that everything Christ did we can do also it's what Jesus declared in John chapter 14 he said this in Philippians 2 and 6 Paul did that who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God that's understanding God as his father that's right reason why this is so important is because understanding that God is our father is absolutely understanding what a huge Giver our God is James 1 17 declares this every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the father I don't know why we pray for Jesus to give us thanks and for the Holy Ghost to give us things and for the Savior to give us things when the scripture is as plain as it can be every gift every gift every good gift every perfect gift is from above and comes down from our father he is a giver Matthew 7:11 says if you be in evil know how to give good gifts to your children how much more shall your father be a giver of good gifts it's our father that gives to us Luke 12:32 said is your father's good pleasure to give to you the kingdom now let me give you some understanding here into this dysfunctional family of five Mom and Dad thought the best thing they could do was have two more children and so now we have half sisters two of them but when they were born they were born with wings of angels at least in mom and dad's eyes and if we didn't agree with it we were in trouble I can't tell you how many times I got spanking because of something they did to me my half sisters they still laugh about it today but I watch my youngest half sister walk up to my stepdad and she smiled at him real big and she said Dad I need $50 and I was ready for Armageddon you don't ask Dad for $50 I mean he had one of them change things you know a little football that you squeeze open he kept all the P he was tight and I expected that she's going to get backhanded and drop kick through the gopster light but instead he just laughed and put his arm around her he went in his wallet to that secret place where he kept the big bills he pulled out a 50 and dropped in her hand he never asked her any reason why she needed it why she wanted it and my jaw hit the ground because I'd have been scared to death to ask for $5 if I'd have asked for five you know what I'd expect have you done your chores do you deserve the I'm I'm I'm talking to us spiritually you don't deserve this kind of gift because you ain't done your chor do you know how many heads in this home I've got to feed you're not worthy of $50 why do you want to in that's what I thought I'd receive the difference between me asking for five and her asking for 50 is she knows she has a daddy that loves her I'm not so sure that's our difference John 14:6 declares the father will be a giver of comfort Matthew 6:6 pray to the father and your father if you're praying in secret will reward you openly give her give her give her Matthew 6 and4 Give in secret your father will reward you Matthew 6:15 your father forgives you in fact when we find the very basis of how we are supposed to pray and we don't do this but when we find the basis of how we're supposed to pray Jesus said when you pray say this Our Father which art in heaven and we pray to Jesus we pray to the Savior we pray to the Lord I know there's one God his name is Jesus but there's got to be a paradigm in us to understand that our God is our heavenly father I I'm I'm going to go on a little bit of Shaky Ground here thin ice I was raised in this the revelation of the one God in Christ is not something you teach it's something that has to be revealed to you in fact when Simon Peter receives this Revelation and you got to look at it differently than what we traditionally do he said you are the Christ the son of the Living God he didn't say oh you're God manifest in flesh he said you're the son of the Living God understanding that if if he's the son of God then everything that God is the father is then the son is headquarters it's headquarters in the son and Jesus declared unto him it doesn't matter how many rabbis have been teaching you this and how many times you woke up every morning you declared here is the Lord Our God he said Flesh and Blood did not reveal this to you but my Father in Heaven Revelation comes from father I raised in this I'm so thankful for our Oneness message so thankful for the Revelation but we don't we don't have to fight to try to keep our Revelation and unfortunately I think that's that's what we do and I hope you're not confusing what I'm saying from the time that our kids are beginning to walk we're asking them how many gods are there Bobby W oh look he knows there's one God we love this message so much and we part it to our children but why do we have PKS third and fourth generation that are walking away and serving a non-existent Triune God it's because they never got the personal relationship for thems until you begin to pursue him and say I want to know you beyond the relationship of my parents or Beyond relationship of a great Pastor in my life I've got to know you then a revelation will begin to come to you if you're seeking him just to prove your ideology of Trinity you'll miss it but if you want to know who he is so here we go this is what I've been raised with I'm just telling you my experience I can't tell you how many times that I've heard preachers preach and they preach about Jesus calling the Lord father calling god father and then they will read it according to the text but then they'll preach an entire message and never speak of him as father again we're just trying to protect revelation we don't want other people to think that we're trinitarian for crying out loud we we we want to make sure everybody knows when's the last time that you've heard a one this Apostolic preacher preach about the baptism of Christ We Don't Preach that because Jesus is in the water and here's the Holy Ghost like a dve and the force from Heaven the father is speaking now we don't have any problem because God is everywhere present and we know he's right here in mville and he's across town somewhere with somebody else he's everywh where present that's right but we don't preach from that because we don't want our babes in Christ to be confused and misunderstood and so we warp ourself so we never think of our God as our heavenly father baptism of Christ is so powerful because of Jesus who has not opened one blinded eyes and not unstopped one deaf ears he has raised nobody and he has not even preached according to what we see is baptized and his his father says this is my boy and who I am well pleased and he puts an anointing and a calling upon him that a father would do for a son he's not even done anything but in his commitment of baptism to his ministry and his calling he's proud as he can be you talking about getting rid of daddy issues we have so warped ourselves trying to hold on to a revelation that speaks for itself until we've raised a generation of individuals with daddy issues John 4:23 says this the hour cometh and now is when true worshippers evidently there's people that worship and then there's true worshippers true worshippers shall worship the father in spirit and Truth for the father seeketh such to worship him I'm I I'm asking Our Song leaders how many songs do you know that expressly just sing worship to our Heavenly Father I can only think of two he's mentioned in father as in other titles but only two that really speak to him and the father seeketh such to worship him he's a good good father of a few years ago and that oldie heavenly father I appreciate and there's only a couple that I could think of in all my Apostolic Oneness life life that we sing here's what's happened though we have people among us that are Holy Ghost filled truly Apostolic but have spiritual daddy issues and so they're dealing with emotions that they don't know what to do with fear and anxiety it's not that they don't have the Holy Ghost they have the Holy Ghost they're dealing with pornography and other addictions in the church people that speak in tongues can I be real and they've got daddy issues and so this thing that is always within them trying to find some other respect or value or purpose it ends up pulling all of these psychological problems in their spiritual life and in their physical life I experienced and I'm closing maybe just come play softly I experienced over the last few years to Precious people that were ministers in our Oran organizations and one of them was a pastor's wife and then there's a totally different situation of a pastor and just the past couple of years both of these took their lives and we don't know how to deal with that because How could somebody that loves God like we love God worships beside us prays in the altar leads churches studies the word of God how can they decide to do this thing and commit suicide I went to these funerals I was grieved I hope I'm not out of place I was grieved because our leaders got up and this is what they said our leader said this they said you can't count the value of what her life was by the last moments of her life but you got to know what a great author she was what a great pastor's wife what a what a great lady what a great this what a great that and and we'll see you in heaven you got to remember they said not not the last moments of his life and this and that but what a great preacher he was what a great Pastor what a great man of God and we'll see you over there if if that's our Doctrine if that's our Doctrine get ready for suicide to go up among our youth group because they're dealing with depression like no generation has ever de felt before and if they think all they have to do is hang around the youth group for a couple of years and then blow their brains out that's what's going to begin to happen this is not our Doctrine the problem isn't that we're not Holy Ghost filled and we don't love God and we don't pray and we don't read the word is the problem is we got daddy issues we don't even know how loved we are how prepared he has made a place for if I made a place for my children I'd bend over backwards to make sure I do everything possible to get them there if I was to take a vote today how many of you sometimes struggle that you're even going to heaven 70% of powerful anointed Holy Ghost filled people would say I wonder sometimes that's not a holy ghost problem it's not a word it's a daddy issue because we don't call him father and we don't realize how how how he pours out gifts and blessings and people with less favor get more blessing because they have the G to ask and we're afraid if we ask for $5 he's going to backand us kick us through the goalpost we are killing our pastors and our counselors with issues like fear and anxiety and depression and suicide pornography and other addictions we're killing our pastors because we're telling you everything that we know to tell you and then we're sending you to Apostolic counselers and and so many that need to go now we send you to Christian counsel and now we're just sending you to counselors what makes it easier for us to lay on the couch of some stranger that we've never met that has been trained by higher education and pour out our new most deep inmost feelings when the scripture tells us our father is a wonderful counselor you know the reason why we would rather do that at some stranger is because we're not sure if we really tell God everything about think the thoughts we have the doubts we have the confusion we have that he won't even like us anymore afraid to be honest afraid to be open so we Heap to ourselves and hide in all of our issues and fear just escalates escalates escalates depression sinks us deeper and deeper the only thing we turn to is a little relief with pornography or other addictions and good Apostolic people that are called children of God are not taking advantage because we have daddy issues I'm appealing to Our Song Writers write songs about our father he's a good good father there's no one like our fathers will die but he will never die he's Everlasting our fathers will be callous and not but he won't he's a good father he will not withhold from us he'll give us the Kingdom In fact when we know what's so valuable to us this powerful get to the holy ghost that apostolics and Pentecostals have Jesus began to say that this is the promise of the and we teach people to pray to Jesus for the Holy Ghost and ask the Holy Ghost to come inside you we got all kind of things when it's a promise of a gift from our father how much easier it would be to say hey your heavenly father wants to give you this gift he loves you so much oh he does okay instead of the struggle we have of not knowing he's our father so this is what has to happen we have got to release our Earthly fathers in the text that we read it simply says this call no man your father upon the Earth what that means is this call no individual on Earth your primary source of fatherhood cuz your primary source of fatherhood some of you are waiting for your daddy to apologize he doesn't have it within him some of you waiting for him to make it he doesn't have it within him some of you have no hoop no hope of Retribution and no way to talk to your father he doesn't have the ability but you don't have to call him your father he's not your primary source you have a primary source of fatherhood and it's in heaven can I tell you this the first time I began began to receive this Revelation and I prayed all my life I love you Jesus I love you Lord and that's appropriate you are my shepherd you are my ho all the things and that's appropriate but when I got close one onone and saw the word of God and began to say father I love you it changed me the first time physically a man told me he loved me it messed me up I was 13 years old we was at a foot washing place and brother fean wrapped his arms around me and said Tim I love you I'm I'm thinking what kind of pervert is this let me go I ran over the corner my heart is beating so fast I didn't realize how valuable but when I let him be my heavenly father my goodness his word tells me over and over that he has every hair of my head numbered he has I'm in the palm of his hand no man can pluck me out of his hand that he's got promises for me he's dirting My Step and I began to realize this is my daddy this is my heavenly father stand with me all over the building everyone here who like me probably has daddy issues but you're ready to turn them over to a Heavenly Father then I want you to release your Earthly father yes well he's got to do that no no no he probably doesn't have the ability the old-timers used to say this that every individual is created with a god-shaped hole and nothing like the piece of a puzzle nothing will F that hole in your heart except God that's true but by the same token every one of us have a father shaped hole that no father on Earth can feel now my wife my luscious she had the best father in the world he's a good man but he died a few years ago and Lois would get up from an altar where the power of God was moving so strong and understand Lo Lois knew that she hung her Moon because daddy told her so he he he'd go in he'd go in debt and he'd go broke to do something for his girl but she'd get up from The Altar and she'd be homesick she'd be missing dad Daddy and she thought it was her physical Daddy for years until this Revelation and then she realized even she had the best father in the world but he could not fulfill in her life what her Heavenly Father could he got sick and died and went on to his reward but now she's got an everlasting father he's not left her he's not forsaken her if you will admit with me today that you've got daddy issues and you're willing to let go of your Earthly father I'm not going to demand anything of him I love him but I'm going to I'm going to let him be my primary source of fatherhood that I'm asking you all over the place to join me in this altar just come stand as you're coming let's give instruction because we've been lengthy tonight in in message and sermon I want you to release your Earthly father and I want you to begin to talk to your heavenly father but this time this time don't don't call him Lord Don't Call Him Jesus Don't Call Him savior we know there's one God and his name is Jesus but for just a few moments here I want you to call him father and I want you to quote what the scripture says about who you are about how V valuable you are about how he would give to you the kingdom about every hair of your I want you to start quoting that word and call him father and tell him I love you father if you're so bold why don't you just tell him I love you Daddy woo go ahead lift up them hands release your Earthly father begin to call our Lord Call Him Father begin to tell him you love him there's a shift that's happening right now a paradigm that's happening in your spirit woo all right all over the building everybody here that is a child of God you're a tongue talker but you are dealing with emotions like fear and anxiety and panic and you've got Suicidal Thoughts that come to you and there's pornography or other addictions I want you to raise your hand with everybody else raise your hand because I have a heavenly father I'm rebuking daddy issues and I will be delivered I will understand who I am I will walk in power and anointing and value of who God says I am one more time let me have your attention one more time if you have not yet repented of your sins been baptized in jesus' name and been filled with the promise of your heavenly father I want you to come down to the front I'll do everything I can to help you to use my faith to use the anointing that God has put upon me to pray and to help you get to where you need to be if you'll come right down here in the front okay here we go the Lord's Prayer tells us that we are specifically to say Our Father which are in heaven it's not saying my father but it's an understanding at the sister right beside me at the brother right beside me c can I speak to you is this your bride just maybe on the first one or two steps we turn and face this congregation we met before sis what's your first name Kim this what I want you to see can you see how beautiful Kim is I'm not talking about her hair and her features of course she's beautiful isn't she I'm talking about what I see in her that she's had some severe disappointments dysfunctionality in her upbringing I only know this by the Holy Ghost and the pain that she's gone through in a lot of lonely times trying to work some things out in her mind and her emotion but what I see Kim is I see someone that has brought healing from the hands of our father so when I look at you Kim I I I see Daddy in you you remind me of my father you when we start praying that it's our father we start seeing our brothers and sisters differently I'm praying and longing for the time when we're not separated by tribes or organizations or whatever it might be but every Apostolic that is one God would realize he's our father and we're his children those that have the Holy Ghost are coming close up here I'm going to pray with you would you take a hand or a shoulder hand on the shoulder of someone beside you there's a lot of healing that's going to begin to happen right now and those of you who will allow a vulnerability some stuff you have dealt with for a long time God's going to give you overcoming power some healing you've needed for a long time is going to move and flow across this place so would you lift your voice as you're praying for somebody begin to intercede I need some intercessors as we began to pray and we begin to sing We Begin to play that the Holy Ghost Ministry help us in the altar speak Deliverance speak power speak healing in Jesus
