Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Hear, O Israel: the foundation
- On the first Sunday of 2026 he opens the Shama and reads it standing with the congregation: 'Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD' - to be loved with all the heart, soul, and might, taught diligently unto the children, talked of in the house and by the way, and written upon the posts of the house and the gates.
- The revelation of one God is the most powerful revelation in scripture, the foundation of who we are; it is the first commandment for a reason, and a fitting New Year's resolution: get His word forever settled in your heart as it is in heaven.
Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Where the devil and I agree
- Pharisees, scribes, kings, and princes debated who Jesus was, but the man with the unclean spirit cried out, 'I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God' - the demons knew.
- 'Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble' - even the devil will not divide himself into persons; and nowhere in the Bible does it say 'God the Son' - it always says the Son of God, the manifestation of the one true God in a body He did not have until Bethlehem.
- He traces the rival doctrine to Nimrod and Babylon: the triad of Babylon - Nimrod, Tamuz, and Simramis - patterned the triads of Egypt, Greece, India, and Rome, entered a backslidden Israel, and entered the church under Constantine's edict of toleration.
Scriptures: Mark 1:23-24; James 2:19
The fullness of the Godhead bodily
- 'For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily' - as a cup dipped into the ocean holds the ocean itself, the man Christ Jesus held all of God, though the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him; 'there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,' and 'God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself.'
- Co-equal persons collapse on Jesus' own words: 'My Father is greater than I'; 'I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak'; 'He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.'
Scriptures: Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 2:5; 2 Corinthians 5:19; John 14:28; John 12:49; John 12:44-45
Study to show thyself approved
- 'Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth' - it is not enough to believe the Shama; the moment you can explain it is a new dimension of living, and obedience opens scriptures that study alone never did.
- Jesus sent His disciples as the Father sent Him; the King eternal, immortal, invisible is 'the only wise God' - but the Son was begotten, brought into existence at a time and place, which is why He could die; Isaiah's refrain stands over it all: there is no God beside Him, there is none like Him, and He knows not any.
- The church still stands on the revelation Peter spoke standing before Jesus: 'Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God... upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.'
Scriptures: 2 Timothy 2:15; John 20:21; 1 Timothy 1:17; Isaiah (book-only, as spoken); Matthew 16:16-18
Every knee shall bow: the name and the oneness
- Isaiah swore by God Himself that unto Him every knee shall bow and every tongue shall swear; Paul writes that God has given Jesus 'a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow' - both passages are true only because Jesus is God.
- The doctrine is essential because a false Godhead travels with a false baptismal formula; 'whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name' - and he plays Elder Johnny James telling of the Baptist pastor on a plane who saw the grammar of the name, father, son, and Holy Ghost being titles and not the name, and asked for an apostolic preacher so he could be baptized in Jesus' name.
- He closes with the Lord's own prayer in John 17, 'that they all may be one' - one God, and a people in covenant with Him and with one another; let 2026 begin in the oneness of God and the unity of the brethren, where nothing shall be impossible.
Scriptures: Isaiah 45:22-23; Philippians 2:9-11; Colossians 3:17; John 17:21

Jesus, we love you today. Uh, we bless you. If you'd get your Bibles out this morning, I know many of you are looking at the clock thinking it is already 11:00 and I know how long this guy usually talks and I will be quick. Amen. Amen. Familiar passage, Deuteronomy chapter 6 and verse number four. You could probably quote it. If you want to say it with me, I'd encourage you to do so. Here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy strength, and with all thy might. Anybody believe that? >> I don't I don't know about you, but I I've I've tried to kind of navigate. I'm thinking, "Oh, this is the first Sunday, first Sunday of the year. We need something that's just, you know, hey, hey, start the year off right. get you some, you know, some motivation. And I just keep coming back to this right here. And so, I'm going to do my best to deliver this to you. It might not be what you you feel like is is maybe that that motivational talk that you need to kick off the new year after wrapping up everything you just wrapped up in the month of December and 2025. Uh, but I do believe that this is the foundation of who we are. I do believe that this is the first commandment for a reason. >> I do believe that there is a reason he says that that that he is one and that we should serve him with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our might. So, if you want a New Year's resolution, here it is. And these words which I command thee this day shall be in thine heart. You shall teach them diligently, parents, unto your children. You shall talk to them when thou sitest down in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou riseest up. You shall bind them for a sign upon thy hand, that they shall be the frontlets between thine eyes, and thou shalt write them upon the post of thy house and on thy gates. Here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. >> >> This verse is called the Shama by the Jews and most importantly it is part of their daily prayers. It's something I think that we should proclaim daily. They're commanded to recite it at least twice a day and that is in the morning and the evening to teach it to their children to print it on small scrolls and place it inside the doorpost of their house. And these are their first and their last words. So for the first Sunday of 2026, hero Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. My title this morning and just hopes that you'll remember it is this. Where the devil and I agree. >> Where the devil and I agree. Would you lift your hands and ask the Lord to speak to you this morning? God, we love your word. We thank you that your word is forever settled in heaven. And our goal this morning is to get it forever settled here on earth in our hearts, in our minds, and let it become a part of our lives, Lord. Anoint your word this morning as it comes forth, Lord. And we know and believe, God, that you're more than able to do, God, exceeding abundantly above what we could ask or think or hope for, Lord. do great and mighty things that when we walk away from here that we would be able to give you glory and know that it was without a doubt that you are with us. It's without a doubt that you are for us in Jesus mighty name we pray. Could somebody shout amen? >> Amen. >> Amen. You may be seated this morning. The revelation of one God is the most powerful revelation in scripture. There is one Lord and he deserves my total and complete allegiance. Hero, >> could we say it this way? Hero FAC. >> The Lord our God is >> Hero Mville, Tennessee. The Lord our God is >> here. Oh, Blunt County. >> Huh? >> Here. Oh, United States of America. hear everybody that could hear by the worldwide web today. The Lord our God is >> one Lord. >> One Lord. Amen. >> We are built upon it. The Lord our God is one Lord. And we shall love him. We know who he is. And our response is to love him not with part of our heart but all of our heart, all of our might, all of our strength, all of our soul. So, I I I ventured into this some time back and I couldn't help but think that it was a perfect setup as brother Nolan ministered great on Wednesday night as taking us into the new year with with uh quite the thought and I I know that that'll stick with you on Nimrod. Anybody use the the Nimrod line this week? Huh? Don't be a Nimrod in 2026. And and Sister Clayurn, you can call Brother Clayurn a Nimrod for that sticky note this morning. How about that? Don't be a Nimrod in 2026, right? Nimrod, brother Nolan, did so perfectly Wednesday night, explaining to us that the empire of Babylon was founded by this man named Nimrod. He he was he he's his name becomes synonymous with rebellion against God. And so we we we don't want to be anything like Nimrod. There's something else about Nimrod that I thought was quite interesting as he began to teach on it Wednesday night and got my mind to thinking. It's also the first place in history that we hear the word God the Son. Nimrod, a man who becomes synonymous with rebellion against God, uses this term Elbar or E Lb. It's a term. It means God the son. And and so we see here that Babylon becomes the originator of and this is I don't have time to go into this the Babylonian mythology and all the different things that become quite interesting when you begin to see just how foolish and how self-centered that Nimrod was. But in his attempt to be as powerful and as as as as self-centered and prideful and and self-s serving as he could be, he re he has this whole process of reincarnation and all these things that happened and and and and we see that Babylon was the originator of the trinity. Nimrod, Tamuz and Simramis as a result of this beginning of Babylon. We know the tower of Babel. We know the process of everything there in the history of the Bible. As a result of this and as a result of Nimrod's agenda, any heathen religion developed beyond this moment would now have what would be considered their triad or their trinity. Let me show you. Could you give me this chart for just a moment here? The triad of Babylon or the trinity of Babylon is Nimrod, Tamuz and Simraamis. Now these are first, second and third person and they are described as father, son, prince or queen, mother and sometimes you'll see that that figure gets trans transitioned into a dove. the triad of e Egypt, you see the triad of Greece, you see India, Rome, Israel, and then at the Nasian council, you see the triad or trinity of Catholicism. This process is mapped out throughout history books, throughout the process of time, throughout governments. And you see that they have their own identities. this first, second, third person, this father, this son, prince, this king, this mother, this devil, it has the the the same type of cadence. And so this thing that we hear about in the doctrine of the trinity in modern-day Christianity, especially here in our western world, in the United States, is not something that just began when this church arose or this church went underground during the oppression and they decided to just be tolerant of each each other and they came up with this idea or they came up with this denomination or this thought process. This is something that has been trending for quite some time. This is something that has been developed for for quite a while. And so the the worship of a triistic god, a trinity instead of the one true god originated in ancient Babylon. The idea entered Israel when they were backslid. The idea was birthed in a backsliden state. This idea entered the Christian church when they were in a backsliden time under Constantine. They were so tired of being persecuted that they were willing to compromise the truth and let the emperor declare that all religions are equal. Does that sound Does that sound familiar today? Listen to this term. They welcome the relief and that was the edict of toleration brought by Constantine. rel he retained the longused pagan title of Pontamus Maximus which means what? The great bridge maker. Let's just all agree >> to disagree. Let's just take this edict of tolerance. I'll be tolerant of your truth if you'll be tolerant of my truth. This isn't the first time we've heard this trending. It's just trending now on social media. It used to be trending in Babylon. This is not the first time that we've heard that, hey, you're right and I'm right. We'll just choose to be tolerant of each other. He became the de facto ruler of this newly paganized Christian church. We know who owns or holds, we could say it that way, that title today is uh is someone you might know, and that is the pope. That's not uh uh that that that is a pagan title, not a Christian one. >> It's where it came from. The real problem, however, as we could navigate through this and spend way too much time on it, the real problem with the doctrine of the trinity is not history, however. It's with the Bible. Neither the Old nor the New Testament uses the word trinity or associates the word three or persons in any significant way with God. No passage says that God is a holy two, a holy three, or a holy trinity. But over 50 verses in your King James Bible calls God the Holy One. Here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And it's so unique as you would imagine that Paul would believe. So you would imagine that a Moses standing before a burning bush hearing I am that I am would believe that he is one. But he is he is speaking these words. They've heard from God. They've had an experience with God. They've had the they've been filled with the Holy Ghost. They've been touched by his presence. They've experienced mercy. They've experienced grace. Oh yeah, they've had an experience with God. But what about this person that's been kicked out of heaven? What about the old slooh foot himself that saw the same thing Isaiah saw >> seated on the throne train filled the temple. Angels circled him crying one to another, "Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy." Surely he'd know. >> Surely he would know. But we know also that he's he's a liar, right? >> Uh not just a liar, he he he has he has some titles, too. He's the father of liars. But we don't dare make him out to be a trinity because he's trying to stay one because he realized that within his oneness is going to make him most powerful. And somebody that's self-centered really wouldn't want to be divided. So, he's not going to n dare let the idea fall upon your mind of he's trying to convince you of something that he could be called or separated into titles or different persons. But yet, he is the father of lies. He's the son of predition. He's this. He's that. But he's just the devil in all all of scripture. During Jesus's earthly ministry, not many people recognized him for who he was. Pharisees, the scribes, the Sadducees, the kings, the princes, the heirs, the people of the day were all in a debacle. Don't you use that name. Don't you speak that you are the son of God. Don't dare say, "I am that I am." Don't dare claim and and recite those words. But I'll tell you one person or one uh one identifying group that knew who he was. Mark 1 and verse number 23. And there were uh there there they were in the synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, "Let us alone. What have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? >> Art thou come to destroy us? I know thee. >> I know thee who thou art." The holy >> Could somebody say it with me? The holy >> The holy >> of God. Pharisees are irate. Kings and princes are confused. We don't know what to do. But the demons knew. And James 2:19 says, "Thou believest. There is one God. Thou doest well." The devils also believe >> and tremble. >> Nowhere in your Bible, >> nowhere in your Bible does it say God the Son. It always says the son of God. That's because the word son refers to a manifestation of the one true God, the body that God took on, came to save us. God never he he he comes to this place when in Bethlehem. We just came through the celebration of his birth until it was Emmanuel, God with us. God never had a body. >> Until Bethlehem, there was no body. And we see this moment. For in him, Colossians 2:9 says, dwelleth all. the fullness >> of the godhead >> bodily. So what happens is if I if I take and and I'm going to take uh let's say I would take a glass and I would dip it into the the ocean and I take that glass that's full of the specific ocean so to say. The ocean is still there. God is still there. >> But I've got something that's holding everything that's in the ocean. >> Are are you with me? >> And if you could look at this just simple analogy with me today, he came >> in the form of a man, >> pours himself out, gives his life, the only begotten of the father, full of grace and truth. It was all it was just as much of that ocean that's that's hitting the sand and reciding sending back and we we see just as much as the salt water is in that ocean is in that cup. >> Are you with me? >> He's manifested. 1 Timothy 2 and5 says, "For there is one God and he is the mediator >> between God and man, the man Christ Jesus." He he he says this is important that you understand here. O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. >> He said, "Well, brother Hammond, are we really talking about this this morning? Is this really what you decided to to minister to us on a Sunday morning?" Yes, because I really want you to understand. 2 Timothy 2:15 actually says it this way. Study to show thyself approved unto God. a workman that needeth not to be >> ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. In other words, we need to study that we be not ashamed. >> Many of us, if we really knew who he was, wouldn't have an issue worshiping. >> If we really knew who he was, we wouldn't have an issue talking about him. If we really knew who he was and we studied and understood that he is the God of all, I'm telling you, it wouldn't take me but just a few minutes that the real people of God, if I started talking about who he is, you couldn't help but getting on your feet this morning. You couldn't help but lifting up your voice and lifting up your hand. Why? Because even the de demons tremble a little bit at just a minute. Why? Because I know that that name and I know that the fullness of the godhead bodily was in him. And when I know him, I have to I I have to have a response. >> Won't take much. But when I begin to study, when I begin to look at the word of God, it just it just burns in me like a fire. It makes me not ashamed as I begin to rightly divide the word of truth. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:19, I'm hurrying to wit that God was in Christ reconciling reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing the trespasses unto them, and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Jesus was the almighty God manifest in the flesh. But God was not constrained to that man. >> That man was an expression of the spirit of God. The fullness was in him. attitudes, attributes, character, fullness of deity. But it did not mean all of God. The Bible says >> that's right. >> Heavens of heavens could not contain him. According to the Old Testament, he was in Christ, but that does not mean he wasn't anywhere else. >> He was an example. He says we are, the Bible says that they are one. He was begotten of the father. The doctrine of the trinity wants them to be separate. And the only way that I I I can explain the thought process to you of of the doctrine of the trinity which is so rampant and is so common in our world today. I I see it is is one of those things on social media that that I fear with social media that that people begin to be led astray so easily. I see many things that show up in a feed. And what concerns me about seeing things in a feed is not just seeing them in the feed, but seeing who liked it. Yeah. >> And I'm thinking, did you listen to all of that? Did you listen to the terminology? Did you listen to what they're insinuating? Did you listen to the division in the words? Because in order for there to be a trinity, it says they have to be separate and they have to be equal. >> In fact, the doctrine of the trinity says they are co-equal, co-eternal, and coexisting. >> But there there's a lot of debacle in that. I understand you may have a few scriptures that you can look at and you can maybe be confused, but if you really get into the scripture, it's just validating itself. But there's a whole lot more scripture that is very confusing by the doctrine of the trinity. For instance, John 14:28 says, "My father is greater than I." >> He says, "If he's greater than I, last time I checked, two things can't be greater. If one's greater, they can't be equal. >> So, it begins to get real confusing when you're going to say they're co-equal. >> You you can't have he says, "For I have not spoken of myself." John 12:49, "But my father who sent me, who gave me commandment of what I should say and what I should speak." In other words, I can't even talk without him. >> I can't do anything without him. I don't know about you, but that's the way I feel today. And that's the way we ought to feel every day. I can't do anything without him. He was the word made flesh. He came as an example for us to be able to say that without the Holy Ghost, I can do nothing. He says, what what is what is he saying? Even my words are not mine. >> Even my words are not mine. Some may get offended at what I'm preaching this morning. I'm here to just tell you ain't my words. >> Just reading the scripture. John 12:44 verse number 45 Jesus cried and said, "He that believeth on me believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me." Now wait a second. If they're co-equal, if they're co-equal, and again, I know some of you this might kind of message you, but does that mean that God sent Jesus to run his errands for him? The co-equal. Who sends, if they're both kings, who sends another king to go die? What? What? I I'm confused at why that a go a god don't send another god >> to go take care of his business. Huh? A god don't send another god to go, hey, you go handle this. No, he was the only of begotten. But God so loved the world that he sent. I I I I get so one one one king wouldn't do this or that. There's no way. The scripture says God is not a man, neither the son of man should he repent. And that scripture get you used by a lot of trinitarians saying that that that he's not this, he's not that. God is not a person. He is a spirit. >> Right? >> But Christ Jesus is the body of flesh full of that spirit. The perfect example for you and I. And I have argued this and I hate to use the word argue. I I let let's let's let's say I have uh I have tried to communicate this. I don't know if that's the right way to say it. The bottom line is you can call it what you want to call it, but most of the time you argue. But when you repent of your sins >> and you've been baptized >> in his name >> and you receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, it is no coincidence that he manifest himself in three ways and ask us to do three things. The whole goal for sending his son is to get his spirit in us >> and he wants to manifest himself in us. The problem is is that we have sin. He knew no sin. We have a struggle. And thank God we have the Holy Ghost that is helping us live and helping us. But he was the perfect example of what he wanted us to be. >> That's why you you I I know that many people will will will have a hard time. But there there's a lot of things you won't understand in scripture until you're filled with the spirit. >> That's right. That's right. >> And that's why I believe some of the people that are most grounded in faith and grounded in their life with God, living the Christian lifestyle, are people who did when they didn't understand. >> There people who obeyed. And I know I there's some of you, you're analytical. You've got that mindset. You want to know everything. And there's nothing wrong with that either. But there's a certain level of obedience that comes. We're never going to understand all of this book. But they obey and they begin to understand. When they get the Holy Ghost, all of a sudden they start seeing things in scripture they've never seen. They get the Holy Ghost, all of a sudden they start seeing, oh, that power of the word of God. I've read that my whole life. But, Brother Hammond, all of a sudden, I read that last week after I prayed in the Holy Ghost, and it ministered to me in a way that has never ministered to me before. The whole goal is for us to experience the Holy Ghost >> inside of us. >> That's right. >> You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you. It's much easier to understand that he was manifested in three ways when you've taken upon the Holy Ghost inside of your life. It's a powerful re revelation. It's a powerful thing that you must you you and I we must as a body, as a people, as our world must understand it. I I I I just don't believe I don't believe you can be completely committed to something until you're completely convinced of something. And so many people ask, "Well, why do you always go back to these foundational doctrines? Why is it something we always go back and we'll teach on this and we teach?" Because the more we can be convinced, the more we will be committed. You will consecrate yourself to something you're convinced of. >> The scripture study to show thyself approved and you won't be ashamed. And there's a reason why we want to make sure that we understand all this stuff. And I know I've sat where you've sat as a teenager. I've sat as a as a 20-year-old listening to my grandfather open the word of God and talk through the oneness of God and talk through all the thing. I think one of one of his favorite things is he says he's the only wise God. Only wise God. My grandfather used to say it this way. If they're all co-equal, which two? If there's only one wise God and you got three, which two are dummies? That's what he'd always say. Huh? But I've sat where you've sat. I've heard it talked about, preached about, walked through the scripture. Give me the thoughts. Give me the ideas. Give me the terminology. Give me the doctrine. And you take it and it's it feels good. It's like water hitting the duck's back. But if you're not careful, you just it feels good at the moment. But my question to you is when someone comes up and asks you what you believe, Can you tell them something other than hero O F A C the Lord our God is one Lord? You believe it, but can you explain it? >> Because I'll tell you this, the moment that you can begin to explain it >> is a new dimension of living. Yes. >> The moment that you begin to study to show as we're going through the word of God this year and you're checking those boxes off, don't let it just be something that you're reading to check off a box. Let it be something that you're allowing to get inside of you that you're able to understand and you're able to speak it. You're able to talk about it. You're able to live it out. John 20 and 21. Then said Jesus unto them, "Peace be unto you. As my father has sent me, even so send I you. Again, how is Jesus sending Christians into the world? He's sending them by the anointing of the Holy Ghost. He was the example of being sent as the begotten of the father. Begotten. He's brought into that word begotten means this. It means to be brought into existence at a specific time and specific place. So therefore, you cannot be begotten and eternal. >> That word is so important. That's why it's important that you read when you're studying to show yourself approved. You read out of a certain version >> because that word begotten is not in all translations. There's a lot of things that's been supplemented there. But if you get out of context, some of these things, it's it's important because he can't be eternal and be begotten. This would have have been the perfect place to put that word eternal son, but it is not there and it's not anywhere. >> First Timothy 1:17 says he is he's that only wise God. You'll see it over and over and over. The king is eternal, which means immortal and invisible, but the son was not eternal. He was begotten which means that he is not immortal. That means that he can die which is why he came. Look at this logic with me. The son is not invisible. He is seen of men. The son is the manifestation of the invisible God. >> Just like Isaiah 44:45 46 and 47. Who you liken unto me? Who will you equal with me? There is none like me. There is none beside me. There is none other god. I know not any. >> Say why would Isaiah be saying this? Because a nimrod. That's why >> it's in it's there. He's speaking to something that was here long before a council. He's speaking to something that was here long before the issues that we see and the doctrines that we we we we see are combating the oneness of God and the doctrine of the word of God today. It's important it's important that we understand we are we are not built on Nimrod's doctrine. >> There was a man whose name is Peter who was asked a question. No more were we built on Peter's doctrine, so to say, but we're built on the revelation that Peter had. Matthew 16:6. And Simon Peter had answered to the question that says, "Thou art the Christ, the son of the living God." And Jesus answered and said unto him, "Blessed art thou, Simon Barjonah, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. We are the apostolic church. Amen. We are the church of the living God, the bride of Christ. We are the church of this age. For such a time as this, we are here to stand. And where do we stand? We stand on the same doctrine, the same revelation that he is the Christ, the son of the living God, the God who brought them out, the God who touched them, the God who led them as the pillar people, as a pillar of fire and a pillar of cloud. He's the God >> of the Old Testament. He's the God of our church >> today. >> I'm thankful to be a part >> of the church of the living God. without controversy. Great is the mystery of the Godhead. No, the Godhead is not a mystery. Great is the mystery of godliness. >> If it was a mystery, he would have stopped there with a period. But instead, he continues on. God was manifest in the flesh, >> justified in the spirit, >> seen of angels, >> preached unto the Gentiles. Are you thankfully preached under the Gentiles, >> believed on in the world, received up into the glory. I'm thankful to be a part of the church. I'm not prideful that I know something or have a revelation that somebody don't have. I'm thankful that I have the revelation of who he is and I can stand on the entire word. Every dot, every tit, every eye, I can look at it. I can rightly divide it and I can be not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus name. Why? Because I know who he is. We are not and I know don't anybody get up and leave. We are not a Jesusonly church. >> We are a Jesus name church. >> Yes, we are. >> Don't don't dare accuse us of denying the father >> and don't dare accuse us of denying the Holy Ghost. In fact, if you're here this morning, I'd hate for you to accuse us that you can't feel what I feel. >> The Holy Ghost is here, has been here >> since the very first song. >> We just understand that the father, the spirit, and the son are all one >> and his name is Jesus. And I don't want to divide my life up into categories into thinking that I got to approach one one way or one another way or I got to call him Jehovah Gyra on Tuesday because I need something and I need to call him Jehovah Ni on this day because I need No, no, no, no. I don't need a healer here and something here or something that I know that when I speak the name that's above every name. The name that causes demons to tremble. The name that awake. I can speak the name of Jesus over your sickness. I can speak the name of Jesus over your family situation. I can speak the name of Jesus over you in baptism this morning. And everything you need, everything you need is in the name of Jesus. Hear me this morning. That's the power of the Holy Ghost you feel. That's the power of the Holy Ghost you feel. Oh, for just one second. I dare you to lift your hands up. For just a moment, I dare you to throw your head up and begin to speak the name of Jesus. I don't know what to say. I don't know how to deal with what I'm dealing with. Would you just speak the name of Jesus for a moment? >> Jesus, we love you. >> Jesus, we love you. Oh, you can get what you need this morning. You can get what you need this morning. Holy God of heaven. Come on, just uh just just lean in. If you want to keep standing, you can stand. >> The Bible teaches us. >> Look at this with me for just another moment. There's only one that sits on the throne and his name >> is Jesus. >> Somebody say Jesus. >> Jesus. Isaiah 45 says, "Look unto me that you may be saved. All the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess, every tongue shall swear, every tongue shall respond." >> But now listen, that's Isaiah 45:22 and 23. >> Yes. Look at what Paul writes to the church at Philippi. Philippians 2:9. Wherefore God has also ex highly exalted himself and given him a name which is above every name that every that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven, things in the earth, things under the earth that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. What does that tell me? That tells me in order for both of those passages to be true, if you believe this Bible's true, you got to believe both of them are true. If both of them are true, don't you tell me that he's not God. >> That's just one example. I don't have time this morning. But both passages are true. Why? Because this is a forever settled word. And we got more issues than the Godhead if you don't believe this is true. But if this is true, Isaiah and Philippians, Paul writes, "And both are true. Jesus >> is God. Stand to your feet this morning. Stand to your feet. You say, "Brother Hammond, what's the big deal? It's the foundation. >> It's the foundation. >> It's no It's no good. I I I understand there's so many things we can talk and preach and we do, but this is this is the foundation. >> Can't we just be tolerant?" No. Can't we just agree to know? We got to look at the word of God. >> What's the big deal? >> Don't so many so-called trinitarians profess that they believe in one God, too? Is it worth making division over? Is it worth dividing? Is it worth quibbling over and getting into sematics and getting into the translations? Is there really a difference? Is there really this? Yes. >> Why? Because a false doctrine of the trinity is accompanied in church history with a false baptismal formula. >> And the critical issue that becomes even a bigger issue >> is who are you baptized into? >> Whose name were you baptized in? >> For as many of you has been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. So the real issue is if you have a false baptism, you have a false salvation. >> So there's many things that we might could get in discussion over and you say it's not heaven or hell. It's just wise to do. But this is something that's essential. There is one body and one spirit. Even as you are called in the hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and father of all who is above all and through all and in you all. Every baptism in the Bible is in the name of Jesus Christ. Neither salvation any other. There's there's there's neither is there salvation any other. For there's none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in what? >> The name. Colossians 3:17. I feel very I feel and I'm I'm trying to be as conscious of the time and I've cut a couple things out this morning, but for some reason I just feel prompted. I want to show you something this morning. If you can be seated. I had this in the closing of my message and I was going to cut it out. And the way I want to close, I don't think I can put into words some of the things. Pastor I believe is one of the greatest at teaching on the Godhead. I grew up around men and people who taught on the Godhead. But as I began to study, this clip came to my mind and I want to show you. It's about four minutes. You give me four minutes. At the end of this clip, I'll have you stand and we'll pray. I promise you I'm done. >> But but the Elder Johnny James can say it a little better than I can. >> Was coming back from the United Kingdom. I've been over there for two weeks and I was tired. I was so glad to get back to be coming back home to my wife's good loving and good cooking. And I got on the plane up in first class and got me a good comfortable seat by the aisle and I was all ready to come home. And just before they closed the door, a gentleman got on the plane and he took his seat by the window next to me and he introduced himself and he told me that he was a Baptist pastor who had been preaching in England. Naturally, the question went to baptism and we discussed baptism from every angle. I'm just seeing what way he gonna go. And I was giving him enough rope to hang himself at least a half a dozen times. When the flight approached the United States, they came to the cabin and they handed out reentry forms to reenter into the United States. I asked the cabin attendant, I want two of them. I'm going to play with one and I'm going to hand the other one in immigration. on the one I was going to play with where it said give the name of the country, state, and city you reside in. Where it said put name of the country, I put the word country. Where it said name of the state, I put the word state. It said name of the city, I put the word city. I showed it to my friend. He said, I told you y'all was ignorant and crazy. said, "Any fool knows the country ain't named country and the state ain't named state and the city is not named city." He said, 'Look, James, I used to be a English teacher in junior high school. I'm going to give you a quick lesson on proper nouns and common nouns. He said, "You filled out your form wrong." Where it said, "Name of the country." Country is a common noun. The proper noun would be United States. Name of the state. You said you're from Michigan. He said state is a common noun. Michigan is a proper noun. Name of the city. City is a common noun and Detroit is a proper noun. He said he don't know simple grammar. I taught English. He said, "I was an English teacher." I said, "Mr. English teacher, how long have you lived in England?" He said, "I've never lived in England." "Well, how long have you been an English citizen?" He said, "I've never been an English citizen." I said, ' Then you mean you are an American citizen?' He said, 'Yes.' I said, 'You not an English teacher. You're an American teacher. I said, English is an adjective the way you used it, modifying the noun teacher. I said, let me help out the English teacher. I said, you're not an English teacher. You mean you're a teacher of English. I said, of English is an adjective prepositional phrase modifying the noun teacher that tells what you teach. and the way you use it means you're a citizen of England. >> He said, "You know, I never looked at it grammatically." I said, "And Mr. English teacher, neither have you looked at your baptism grammatically." I said, "Grammatically is just as legitimate to say you live in the country of country as to say father is the name of the father." is just as legitimate to say state is the name of the state as to make son the name of the son. Holy is an adjective modifying ghost. And it's just as legitimate to call the name of the city city as to call the name of the holy ghost holy ghost. >> I said my grammar is just as good as yours. Only yours is in a critical area because it has to do with salvation. And for the first time, his grandma cooked kicked in and he saw it and he got angry. He snatched up his computer and rushed off the airplane when we landed. I said, "He's so mad you can fry an egg on his head." So what? He rushed off the plane. I took my time, got my stuff together, and got off. And when I came through immigration, there he was waiting. And he said, "Reverend Johnny, I want to ask you to forgive me for the way that I tried to embarrass you for seven hours all the way across the Atlantic Ocean." He said, "I'm going to Rhode Island and on home to Mississippi, and I want you to give me the name of an apostolic preacher either in Rhode Island or Mississippi because I'm a Baptist pastor, and I'm not going to preach another sermon in my Baptist church until I get baptized in Jesus' name and get the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues. >> >> Just stand to your feet this morning hero FAC >> the Lord our God >> is one Lord. >> Let our prayer be this in 2026. The Lord's prayer is not necessarily found in Matthew 6. Our father which are in heaven. That's the disciples prayer. That's our prayer. The Lord's prayer is the final prayer of Jesus before he went to the cross in John 17 and verse 21. That they all >> may be one. >> One in front of a bunch of bickering disciples. His prayer was that they all be one. Let them serve one God and be in covenant with me, but let them also be in covenant with one another. Let them love the Lord God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, but let them also love one another. >> And so on this first Sunday of 2026, I wonder if you'd gather around this front as the church built built upon the revelation of who he is. And would you find somebody, maybe it's your spouse, maybe it's a friend, maybe it's a loved one. And could we pray that in closing of today? Lord, make us one. >> Lord, make us one. >> Lord, make us one today. Lord, make us one today. Come on. This trinity started at the Tower of Babel where unity made nothing impossible. I believe if we could start this year off in the oneness of God, in the unity of the brethren, that nothing shall be impossible. Nothing shall be impossible. Come on. Our unity is a part of our oneness, too. Lord, let us love one another. Lord, let us love one another. Lord, let us serve one another as we serve you. Come on, that's it. Lift your voice up. Lift your voice up and pray for your brother. Pray for your sister. God, touch every family. God, touch every home. Lord, minister to every individual. Let your kingdom come in this church, oh God, as it is in heaven in 2026. Hallelujah. Laosia into the atmosphere. Spirit of God, you're all author. >> Oh yes, God. Yes, God. Yes, God. God over my heart. >> >> Come on, pray over your heart and mind for just a moment >> in the mighty name of Jesus. >> In the name of Jesus, over every family, >> over every situation, over every need, >> over every dilemma. Oh God, we speak in the name of Jesus >> in the name of Jesus. In the mighty name of Jesus, I draw boundary. The enemy has no right to come near my family. No se could ever run to God's no matter the circumstance. the cross. I seal my >> Come on. With every hand lifted across this place, can we sing this today? >> Jesus, I pray. >> I pray calling on the power of the power of heaven. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. >> >> I know the Lord is ministering. You're praying with somebody. Keep praying. I'm going to ask them to go back into this bridge. And you can be dismissed whenever you want to be dismissed. But I wouldn't be doing my I wouldn't fulfill my responsibility this morning if I didn't give an opportunity for somebody to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. for the remission of your sins. If you've never been baptized, you can tell somebody next to you. They can help you find the right person. We'd be happy. We've got everything here you need to be baptized this morning. But would you lift your hands one more time as they sing this bridge? You can be dismissed.
