Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Have You Considered My Servant Job?
- Job was perfect and upright, one that feared God and eschewed evil, and he offered burnt offerings continually for his sons and daughters
- When the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, Satan came also among them
- The Lord's testimony of him: there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man
- Satan answered that God had made a hedge about Job and blessed the work of his hands - the cost of being considered by God and by Satan
Scriptures: Job 1:1-8; Job 1:10
The Patience of Job
- Behold, we count them happy which endure: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy
- Patience here is consistency: ordinary obedience repeated, continually
- Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul
- We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against spiritual wickedness in high places
- Satan accuses God through the consistency of the believer: as long as the Christian stays consistent, he cannot say anything negative about God
Scriptures: James 5:11; Matthew 10:28; Ephesians 6:12
Blessed Be the Name of the Lord
- Job arose and rent his mantle and shaved his head and fell down upon the ground and worshipped
- Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord
- In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly
- Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings God has ordained strength, because of the enemies, to still the enemy and the avenger
- Jesus reads the psalm as perfected praise: when we are challenged we should not shut up, we should praise
Scriptures: Job 1:20-22; Psalm 8:2; Matthew 21:16
The Comforters
- Eliphaz built his counsel on a spirit that passed before his face in a night vision: shall mortal man be more just than God
- Bildad appealed to the former age: inquire of the fathers, for we are but of yesterday and know nothing
- Zophar answered with hard legalism, holding that God exacts less than Job's iniquity deserved
- The friends argued with Job's expressions instead of ministering to his feelings; before you give counsel, make sure the counsel is accurate - look up before you look around
Scriptures: Job 4:13-17; Job 8:8-10; Job 11:2-6
Though He Slay Me
- Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him
- I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth; whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another
- The answer given to the king in Daniel was that the God they served was able to deliver them from the burning fiery furnace
- For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain: the worst thing that can happen to a believer is to be with the Lord
Scriptures: Job 13:15; Job 19:25-27; Daniel 3:17; Philippians 1:21
The Spirit Helps Our Distress
- The closing read is announced as the New Living Translation, and it is read that way: the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress, for we do not even know what we should pray for
- The Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will
- God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God: not all things are good, but all things work together
- If God is for us, who can ever be against us
Scriptures: Romans 8:26-31

if you turn in your Bibles to job chapter number one we'll do my best to do a little bible study this evening on the book of job we will go in I think I've ever ever taught simply on the Book of Job referred to job's life multiple times I I was I was in kind of one of those situations when I got that text tonight hey it just said Zach you're up to bat and I thought oh okay um I have I have a message that I know is just a good Wednesday night bible study because it's one of those like black holes that I've been in for maybe about a year now that started that a conversation with with brother Woodward over a book and he said I don't know what to do with this but you may be able to do something with it and it's called the rarest blue and I immediately like went to dive into my notes and I thought this is going to be a great little Revelation thing this rare blue that's been used all throughout the Bible That's disappeared and it's for some reason was no longer able to be obtained once Jesus was crucified and all this funds stuff for some reason as I begin to pray the Lord wouldn't let me teach that tonight so maybe one Wednesday night we can talk about fun color of blue in the Bible I'm going to go to the Book of Job which is not near as exciting um Job chapter 1 and verse number one there was a man in the land of us whose name was job and he was one that feared God and eschewed evil and there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters his substance also was seven thousand sheep and three thousand camels and five thousand yoke of oxen 500 she asses in a very great household so this man was the greatest of all the men in the east and his sons went and feasted in their house every one his day and he sent and called for their three sisters and eat and drank with them and it was so when the days of their feasting were gone about that job sent and Sanctified them and Rose up early in the morning and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all job said it may be I love this because job goes and sacrifices on a maybe it may be that my sons have sinned he didn't know that his sons or daughters had sinned but just in case they had or in case they're going to face something I'm going to go sacrifice the kids might not be going through something now but you would sacrifice you'd do yourself a favor to sacrifice today for what they would face tomorrow and he cursed God in their hearts he said in case they've sinned in case they've done anything I don't know about thus did job continually somebody say continually now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan came also among them which is interesting attribute about Satan that he have he has access to the throne room of God and the Lord said unto Satan whence cometh thou and and Satan answered the Lord and said from going out from going to and fro in the earth and from walking up and down it and the Lord said unto Satan has thou considered my servant job there's none like him in the Earth the perfect man an upright one that feareth God and issue with evil tonight we'll title this the cost of being considered the cost of being considered can we pray for a moment before we dive into our Bible study Lord I Thank you so much for your presence that we felt in this room I thank you for your word that it's infallible it's forever settled it's not a storybook it's not something that we just go to and find treasures that we can live by but it is a Living Word God that can set the captive free God that can do God the unimaginable the unthinkable that without it we are hopeless and lost but the knowledge that you've given us to be able to come to the truth to be able to serve you within its Pages God I pray that it would be God relevant revelatory tonight God that it would do what only you can do and that is God create life God we're death and hopelessness and joy has been pulled out and there's no peace God but your word can bring forth God only what your word can do we ask that it would make it you would make it happen in this place tonight in Jesus mighty name we pray amen everybody say Amen you can be seated tonight there's a main factor in rightly dividing the word of God the Old Testament is a set of literature I guess you would say where you get it up to a point where you find the Book of Job begins a portion of the Bible where we would take we would be foolish as Proverbs would state to not go and to consider the books job Psalms Proverbs Ecclesiastes and the song of Solomons explain you you you can you can almost put it put life into categories with these books um doing our our action our external or physical life you can take and you can learn all you need to know for life and Proverbs and job when it comes to filling emotions in internal your mind what you would maybe refer to as your spiritual life The Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes can tell you what to do and then Psalms obviously covers our prayer and worship our our Center of worship to God that that connection with God so we'll focus on the Book of Job and the man job tonight because I love the The Book of Proverbs in fact I I did a little devotional on the Book of Proverbs and that's one of my favorite books it has been since I was a teenager but Proverbs tells us that good things are likely to happen if we do what is right but then job tells us that sometimes bad things happen even when we do right job's book creates quite the debacle in its most of the time what we are struggling with as human beings instruction without explanation why did hurt happen to me why do I feel this way why did he say that why did she do that why do I experience pain why do things happen whether whether we consider them a happenstance or somebody actually did something to us to cause us harm that we're still paying the price for whatever I think job can help us to to really consider the Book of Job is first and foremost not religious fiction so far-fetched that sometimes we look at the the character job and and even some commentaries and philosophers and those Highly Educated people um would consider the Book of Job as just kind of a a fairy tale that's nestled in because we can't even relate to the fact that he was a real person with real problems the Bible tells us however that it was not just a a fact but it was perfect he was upright he was he shunned evil he had Integrity in other words this this he was not a man of hypocrite in the sight of God he was not job was on the outside what he was on the inside job was authentic job was real job was a prosperous man large family abundance of land and animals and servants as we read and and being rich did not turn job away from God which was a huge thing that we could acknowledge here in Scripture that the lord gave him this wealth and the Lord uh allowed him to be prosperous and he used it generously for the good of others and job he had friends that we learned about later on in the Book of Job and and we see that that job's comforters but uh they're they're not so much comforters and we'll look at that here in a little bit when things start going sideways but in one 24-hour period all that could go wrong went wrong job was stripped of his wealth his family one after another the frightened Messengers come and Report 500 yoke of oxen and 500 donkeys and 3 000 camels were stolen by the enemy's raids seven thousand sheep were struck by lightning and killed that's quite a storm huh all that could go wrong was gone wrong 10 of his children were killed in the Windstorm collect collapsed the house that they were in shortly after job lost his health and his wife all of a sudden his families his kids are dead and his wife turns against him so it seems and Joe knew what happened but he didn't really know why it happened maybe you're not in the middle of it maybe you're on the the outside of it maybe you've kind of come through it but you still look back at your life sometimes and you try to figure out why is it that that thing happened to me why is it that Dad made the decision that he did and so I as a student have to live with it why is it that my wife just all of a sudden flipped a switch and I found myself in in where I never thought I would be and now I I've been through a divorce or I've been through financial struggles or I've been through this or I've been through that and I don't really know why these things happen to me job he knew what happened I can't imagine how fast it all happened to him but in the in the midst of it he did not know why because this book this beautiful book of the Bible allows us to know things that they didn't know it's oftentimes to actually get in their shoes because we know how it all transpires and how everything works and that you know all these things play out but you you you we this book allows us to visit this throne room of Heaven to hear God and Satan speak that we know of of what caused the destruction was not anything job did wrong but job did not have the benefit of the knowledge that you and I do to hear the Lord say have you considered my servant job huh can you think about that if job could have just simply had his ear up to the door huh and heard the conversation that God said have you considered a man named job that maybe brother Weatherly he could have endured even better than he did knowing that God considered him he considered him to be an upright man and if we did not have this Insight on the scripture we would probably take the same approach as job's friends job's wife to blame job himself for the tragedy and I'd say even in this room tonight if we didn't say it we would probably still think it Job 1 and 8 says and the Lord said to Satan has thou considered my servant job that there is none like him in the earth a perfect and an upright man one that feareth God and issue of evil this verse clearly states that God had no reason to punish job however he allowed job's trials for a higher purpose James 5 and 11 says behold we count them happy which endure ye have heard of the patience of job and have seen the end of the Lord and that the Lord is very pitiful and of tender Mercy patience in this context in fact in most contexts means consistent consistent most people say that the theme of job is this age-old question of why does a loving and a righteous God permit The Godly to suffer but if that's the theme of the book The question is never answered and so I'd like to give us a different angle tonight this book uh uh this this book always answers the question this book always if it's going to give you a question it's going to give you an answer all right so I don't I don't believe the Book of Job is is a a just a an ending that's just open like the book of Acts it just says you know it keeps going no it's not keep going it's not for us to linger in why did God do what he did ultimately this book of answers gives us this question how do we as the righteous endure hurt how do we endure suffering what is the cost of being considered by God because everybody wants to be considered by God right huh but when you look at the Book of Job sometimes you may you may kind of step back a little bit say hey do I really want to be considered by God huh you know some of you are going through the middle of it now I'm thinking like God stop considering me huh you can take me off the radar all right the devil's doing enough today he's doing enough he's stirring up enough but we don't live by God's explanations we live by his promises huh I think it is probably one of the most powerful Concepts that we see within the Book of Job that that the devil has to come Satan has to come and be granted permission huh permission to step into job I I've got to come and I've kind of got to beg you'll see any time the devil's trying to get anything done he begs God huh and and we have to be careful that sometimes we don't fall into the Trap of a lack of faith and we become to we begin to pray like the devil prays huh there's there's a difference between begging and persistence now when you come to God and you beg God for something because you don't really believe he can do it that's a demonic prayer can I please have Joe can I please do this can I please that's the way the Devil comes to God but it's so interesting to me that he has to beg God for job but he just walks right into Judas huh because there's some people that he has full jurisdiction he don't have to he don't have to he don't have to go to the throne room for them he's already got Camp made up in there right but this this this is powerful because God is is Sovereign and even Satan can do nothing to God's people without permission so the opening chapters of job are a courtroom scene but God and Satan deliver a very different verdict about job Satan if you look at and it's it's very interesting here to see how this whole book plays out but Satan says he's guilty because he is an accuser of the Brethren but God says no he's not guilty and in the end that is all that matters Matthew 10 and 28 says and fear not them which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul but rather fear him which is able to destroy both the soul and Body in hell I'm going to tell you tonight that Satan is an accuser not only against job but against you but as an accuser he comes and it's not so much even as an attack against you as it is against God if you could see what's going on here we might would paraphrase uh what's going on like this the the only reason Joe fears you is because you pay him to do it that's what the devil's saying to God you've got some kind you have you've made some kind of contract you've got some kind of Covenant going on that you protect him and he prospers and as long as he obeys you and worships you that you're you're you're you're you're you're you're just going to get what what's what you've given job and he's going to give back to you and and and you're just a god worthy of Praise but you have to pay people to do it the Devil comes in and kind of puts this word in at the throne room at the feet of Jesus said hey this is all well and good but who couldn't worship you when you died for them huh who couldn't worship you when you've given them all the oxen and all the camels and all the land and all the things and he's the wealthiest man in the east of course he's serving you huh so the devil's come in he's like yeah he's he's an easy one can you imagine this fundamental reasoning for job's suffering was to silence the Blasphemous accusations of Satan to prove that a man would honor God even if he had lost everything that's what the book of job's about that man would worship God in the good and in the bad that's ultimately the answer to the question God it is actually a a war in the heavenlies but job did not know it job's life was a battlefield where the forces of God and Satan were engaged in a spiritual struggle to decide one question is Jehovah God worthy of man's praise even when it's not going well when I take everything he's got when I take his family when I take his wealth when I turn his friends on when I do all these things Ephesians 6 and 12 is the story for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities against Powers against the rulers of Darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places there is a battle going on and God says hey you want to talk about you want to talk about man you you're jealous of them but the mercy that I have extended toward them I understand that you don't understand why I love them the way I do and I kicked you out but I considered them I know you don't understand all that and you've got your you've got to your tails you want to tell and that that who couldn't serve me and yada yada yada yada what's going on hey why don't you go check job out I'll give you full jurisdiction to go down and do whatever you want to do consider him see if he turns his back consider him see if he stops praising me consider him and see if he doesn't continually keep wearing out that well-worn path of sacrifice on just the idea that his kids might be straying away consider job some of these so-called tragedies and trials in the lives of God's people not only in the scripture but in our Living Color here today in the church have really just been weapons of God to steal the enemy and the Avenger as Psalms 8 says out of it's It's we'll see it here he refers to it a few times I I believe that that we've got to see that when things ease into our life when things come into our lives when things happen to us that there's way more going on than just what's happening to us if we can see it that way I think it will help us be able to to praise God at all times to worship him to understand it that I have been considered by God to be able to Bear the weight of this moment Psalms 8 and 2 says out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou has ordained strength because of thine enemies why he says because of thine enemies and thou Mighty is still the enemy that thou might instill the enemy and the Avenger huh look at that he says you you become a weapon of God to stop the enemy in his footsteps so I can't believe I've done all that I've done you've been all that you've been through and you're still at church on Wednesday night huh the enemy tonight maybe has worked on you since the moment you woke up out of the bed this morning to keep you from being here but the devil is looking down just like God is looking down and saying man they're here again they were here early for prayer again that guy's lifting up his hands and worshiping again he says you you've got an ordained strength because your enemies you have you you you made them steal and and Matthew 21 and 16 this is a powerful statement that David makes in Psalms 8 because Jesus refers to it in Matthew 21-16 hearest thou what that what what these say and Jesus said unto them have you not read that out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou has perfected praise notice that David said that out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength while Jesus says out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou has perfected Praise Jesus did not misquote David rather he interpreted the scripture and explained the truth David had discovered that when we praise God even when we don't understand the situation when we praise God in the midst of the battle in the midst of heaviness in the midst of what we feel like everything is going wrong that we have understood we we've caught on to this revelation that in my praise is my strength ultimately job he tells us can can can we do what God's called us to do what God has uh instructed us to do no matter what's happening in our lives look at job's prayer job's prayer Job 1 and verse number 20. then job arose rent his mantle shaved his head fell down upon the ground and worshiped he literally became a Romans 12-1 I present my body a Living Sacrifice huh they had taken all of his animals he didn't have anything to sacrifice he said if I don't have anything I'll go ahead and begin become a new testament example I'll put my body and become a new testament example I'll present he said but naked I came from my mother's womb and naked I shall return dither and the lord gave and the Lord has taken away blessed be the name of the Lord in all this job sin not nor charge God foolishly look at this he says Naked I came he looked back naked I will return he looked forward but he said blessed be the name of the Lord ultimately job looked up what do you do when everything goes goes Haywire what do you do when everything falls apart what do you do when it's not like what you thought it was going to look like you could look ahead and you can look back and ultimately no matter which way you you can look if you really look hard enough you could see the hand of God but if you don't see it anywhere around you if you'll look up and just say blessed be the name of the Lord no matter what it looks like around if you could just look up and say blessed be the name of the Lord naked I came and naked I know I I I I everything in my past was ordained everything in my future is ordained my life at Birth is in him my life and death is in him but ultimately blessed be the name of the Lord I might be in a valley I might be in a mess but blessed be the name of the Lord I know it's a Wednesday night bible study and you've got all kind of things going on in your life and you've got things in your mind you're worried about and you don't know what the future is going to look like and you don't know how to deal with some of the things in your past and things messed up at home but blessed be the name of the Lord on this Wednesday night could somebody although it hurts give him a Hallelujah although it's not easy give him a praise because that's the only option we have blessed be the name of the Lord when life is difficult it's easy to give up but giving up is the worst thing we can do it's the worst option historian professor said if Columbus had turned back nobody would have blamed him but nobody would have remembered him either if you want to be uh to be memorable in the kingdom of God sometimes you have to be miserable first too many Bible readers avoid studying The Book of Job with the exception of the first two chapters and the last chapter the rest of the book appears to be the first collection of long speeches from job and his friends and their conversations seem to really make no progress but seemed more like a cycle of just incredible lessons on what to do with those who suffer the term job comforters is familiar phrase when describing these chapters who really only make matters worse it's very interesting when you begin to study out the kind of the guts the internal part of the Book of Job I really don't know why it's so long they could have condensed it down to maybe uh you know four or five chapters because ultimately these these guys that he was was his comforters where there was no comforting going on they they cared enough for job to travel a long distance a long distance to visit him but when they sympathize with him and they didn't sit in a comfortable place they sat him in a heap of Ashes surrounded just it just looked terrible just sit there in your grief his grief was so great in fact they just set him there in a heap of Ashes for seven days the Bible says couldn't speak to him job's friends eventually began to break the ice begin to speak and regrettably chose to become more like Prosecuting attorneys instead of supportive Witnesses in the end the Lord even rebuked them and he had asked job for forgiveness job's friends heard his words but they did not feel the anguish of his heart so they took this approach of trying to help him handle his trials that he's going through they argued with his Expressions instead of ministering to his feelings they tried to give him explanation and they they weren't really there wasn't really any to give and I don't know if you've ever been in a similar situation but you feel like you're going through something and everybody wants to relate but even though worse than that everybody wants to tell you what you did wrong to get in the situation that you're in huh everybody's got a friend like that maybe more than one huh like I don't know if you heard anything I just said that I was going through or if you were thinking about all the things that you were going to tell me of how to fix it huh it's pretty interesting and I'll just hit these four guys real quick because I think you can learn from something one thing you don't want to really do is seek the advice of someone else before you look up there's too many times you can look both ways and before you look up you can start looking around and you're all of a sudden talking to eliphaz who in job 4 yeah you got three chapters is the whole story of Job really all you need to know and then chapter four we get to olafaz here and it he says in verse number 13 I don't even know if that's how you pronounce his name but he is the oldest of Joe's friends so he gets to speak first and Thoughts From the visions of the night when deep sleep followeth on men fear come upon him and trembling which made all my bones Shake then a spirit passed before my face and the hair of my flesh stood up Stood Still but I could not discern the form thereof of any image then before mine eyes there was silence and I heard a voice saying shall mortal man be more just than God shall a man be more pure than his maker based on my opinion of this whole little thing eliphaz does and his helpful conversation with job he's based on eliphaz's opinion of this spiritual experience that he had had some dream or what have you the lord gave him a word for job that will fix everything and you can see here that it really it really just gets confusing for job and and ultimately I I don't believe and and I know um that this might get a little bit contradicting but but ultimately I want to look up before I go to look around okay all right well deep dive too much into elefaz there but he he sees bones shaking and voices and things standing still and all these things happening and he says I've got a word from you that will fix everything ultimately if you're going to take a word from somebody that's coming from the Lord we need to know that they have been considered and they are continually before God so stay let's say that then the second oldest is Bill Dad he he he's he's a he's a sharp dude he's going to quote the prophets and uh he he told job he said your kids were Sinners that's why they died too he just had a lot of like good encouraging information for job he's like the house fell on them because they were Sinners and everything happened to you because you're a sinner be glad you're not your kids he calls job he paints him a picture he speaks in analogies he loves Proverbs he says you're like a light put out you're like a traveler trapped he said you're like a criminal criminal that's being pursued he's like you're a tree that's been uprooted so in job eight and eight here's Bill dad he says for inquire I pray thee for the former age and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers for we are but of yesterday and know nothing because our days upon the Earth are a shadow shall not they teach thee and tell thee and utter the words out of their hearts anybody realizing why everybody skips over four through 34 in the book of jobs based on his opinion of traditional wisdom from the past if you just do what I say it will fix everything huh what about so far he's like a school Master he comes in job 11 verse number 2. he's a little he's a little younger than Bill Dad but he's still older than job he's got some things he wants to tell him he comes in he's like the Freshman on the first day of high school he's like comes in should not the multitudes of words be answered and should a man full of talk be justified shall thy lies make men hold their peace and when thou mockah shall no man make thee ashamed for thou has said my Doctrine is pure and I'm clean in thine hands but oh that God would speak and open his lips against thee wow this poor guy's sitting in a heap of Ashes hadn't talked to nobody for seven days his wife told him to go ahead and just do what you're thinking and die and this is the encouragement you're getting based on his opinion of hard legalism it doesn't matter what you do it can't be fixed they're all dead and they're all gone that's basically what he tells him for two chapters just keep sitting here it ain't nothing going to change you ain't coming back so I'm at this point I'm thinking that job is probably wondering would the Real Enemy please stand up huh yeah it's like holy moly you know you can't turn the pages fast enough obviously the the picture here is that you you've still got to do what's right even when everybody around you is telling you hey your Situation's actually worse than even you think it is huh you still have to do what God's told you to do it's there's one more Elijah he's he he's just um he really puts the nail in the coffin so to say they should speak multiple of years should teach wisdom but there is a spirit of a man the inspiration of the almighty giving them understanding great men are not always wise neither do the aides to understand judgment therefore said hearken to me I also will show you mine opinion and my opinion is merely on the fact that no one else's ideas have worked let's just try anything so he starts throwing out ideas to try to fix it but there was still ultimately no answer within all of these chapters with all of these comforters of why this happened to job we really don't know at this point in the Book of Job what was worse The Dilemma the devil had put job in or the drama that his friends had kept him in I believe that the story of Job The Book of Job ultimately is telling us what a lot of us are dealing with right now that God has already taken care of your problems answered your questions you've responded correctly and you're on the other side of it but you're on the other side of it still sitting in the ashes of what God's already turned Beauty from and you've already understood but you're hanging out with people and you're listening to people and instead of looking up you put it on Facebook and see how many people comment and can keep you in yesterday's tragedy can keep you in yesterday's drama can keep you in the devil's dilemma that God's already brought you out of you don't need bildad you don't need you don't need any of these friends it's just gonna they don't have the solution they don't have the answer I know you messed up I know you did wrong I know things aren't the way you thought they were going to be but ultimately just praise God move through it you don't need the opinion of anybody else to walk on with God you don't need the approval of anybody around you in order to confirm God's mercy his grace and his goodness in your life Job 1 and 10. I love this and we'll kind of end in this little area here the devil says Hast not thou put a hedge about him and about his house and about all that he has on every side thou has blessed the work of his hands and his substance is increased in the land so the devil he you know the adversary he's an accuser so the devil he doesn't just accuse you he he's even accusing God here of putting a hedge a blessing around job so God allowed the devil to to God allowed the devil to tear down that hedge but I love this because this is very important that God puts it puts a hedge of protection around us that's biblical but when the devil came in and tore the hedge of protection that God says Hey consider them there's times where God will allow the devil to tear down his Hedge to see if you have your own hedge because ultimately the devil gets to a place where he feels like he has access and then he realizes that job has his own relationship with God it's not just this contract it's not just this thing going on he's been wearing out a path to sacrifice and believe it or not he's still praying to God he's still he's lost his kids we thought he was just praying for his kids we thought he was just coming to church for his kids we thought he was just doing what he was doing because he was worried about the Next Generation but believe it or not brother Sullivan he was doing it whether or not they died whether he lost all his wealth whether he lost this or that he's come he just sincerely loves God job's got his own heads Jones got his own consecration he's not just doing it for God's hands he's at his feet huh he's just not here for his promises it's amazing to watch what takes place job's got this unshakable faith I believe in God's covenant but what about my consecration I pray God has enough confidence in me ultimately confidence and my consistency in my consecration I mean ultimately that's what our faith is right some people don't have faith because they don't have consecration you don't have enough relationship with God to have faith in him huh there's some of you I don't be honest with you I I don't know you well enough I don't know you well enough to trust you maybe with my kids yeah I'm not just gonna send my kids over to your house I know that's terrible we're all we all go to church all this but I'm not just gonna let's say we're at the daycare and somebody comes in and says hey hey do you care if Beckham comes home with us sorry I don't have a relationship with you enough to trust you to send something of value with you so therefore if I don't have an altar with God that has a relationship I ultimately live in this this state of do I control it or does he take it do I try to manipulate this or do I trust God with it so we go back and forth and back and forth and our faith is down here because our consecration is absent he considered him because he had faith in he said he did this continually job 13-15 though he slay me yet will I trust him but I will maintain my own ways before him he'll he'll he'll hit on it over and over again job 19 25 for I know that my redeemer liveth and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the Earth and though after my skin worms destroy this body yet in my flesh shall I see God whom I shall see for myself whether my kids die whether my family's with me and mine eyes Shall Behold and not another though my Reigns be consumed within me job said the worst that can happen to me is I could die everybody else is dead huh everything else has gone wrong the worst that can happen to us is people of God is death and ultimately I know that seems terrible and it's not going to be great for those that are left behind but the greatest thing that's ever happened to Sister McIntosh happened yesterday when she began to see God and the heavens opened up and she's experiencing something that we all if we knew we would be itching and we would be really looking at the scripture a little bit differently that says well the worst thing that can happen to me huh that's what he says here Daniel 3 17 if it be so our God whom we serve is able to Deliver Us From The Burning fiery furnace and he will deliver thus out of thine hand O King but if not you say I'm in a mess right now I'm in the trial of my life I'm dealing with this or that I don't know I don't know how I'm going to get out of this and you say God's Gonna deliver me you could speak by faith But ultimately if he don't he's going to give you the greatest reward he could ever give you I know that's not popular I mean it's it's not it's not great preaching Philippians Paul Paul's letter says since Philippians 1 he starts off the book for me to live as Christ to die is gain I mean that's not a great song we don't really you know that's not like the the number one Christian charts is Philippians 1 21. man I know nobody's jumping excited to die But ultimately if you really look at the scripture you really you really dissect into this thing with God what what are we living for huh I not only want to make it I want to take somebody with me I mean ultimately that's that's just that's it that's that's in a nutshell so we we've got to think about what's going to happen we've got to but what I guess my point here that we really want to pull out is what do you do to a man that will worship in spite of all the wise what do you do to an individual that will worship God no matter what's going on in their life they come in and you know things are not going well you come in and know that they're going through something but they're still worshiping they didn't take a break they didn't step back they still are continually worshiping God what do you do to a man a woman of God that will worship and despite of all the questions of their life in spite of all the hurt and the bottom line is the answer to that question is you can't do anything to them nothing there is nothing that will there is power in a person who will shout Hallelujah even when they're hurting that they understand that I'm more than a conqueror even when it looks like all hell is against me in closing tonight I want to read Romans 8. verse number 26. and I want to read this and I don't know that I rarely do this I don't think any Harm's done to the scripture here I'm going to read this in the New Living Translation I think they have that back there Romans 8 verse number 26 it says the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress for we don't know what we should pray for nor how we should pray anybody ever been there huh I don't really know how to pray or what to pray for there's a lot of question marks but the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words that's why it's so important to pray to you pray in the Holy Ghost because the devil don't understand it you don't understand it your neighbor don't understand it Bill Dad can't talk about it this one huh but the spirit will speak what he knows needs to be spoken at that moment and the father who knows all Hearts who knows why you're fighting who knows why you're going through what you're going through he knows what the spirit's saying for the spirit pleads for us Believers in harmony with God's Own will and that leads us up to our favorite scripture and we know that God causes to work causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them for God knew his people in advance and he chose them to become like his son so that his son would be the firstborn with many brothers and sisters and having chosen them he called them to come to him and gave them right standing with himself and he promised them his glory what can we say about such wonderful things as these if God is for us and who can be against us we sing and we quote that verse you only get that verse if you truly comprehend and understand at all things work for the good not all things are good huh I'm picky if you're going to make something for me don't tell me what's in it huh I don't necessarily necessarily like all the ingredients but when you bring it to the table I hate mayonnaise but you can slip it in on me sometimes huh I get an amen back there huh all things work together for the good it's not that all things are good it's not that the situation you're going through but if you will understand that if God is for me what's the worst that can happen you can look forward and you can look back and you might even look around but ultimately we've got to look at our situation and look up and say blessed be the name of the Lord would you stand to your feet in this house tonight on this Wednesday night all things in life are not good but God promises that all things will work together for our good I ask you this question tonight the New Testament he says James refers to it we see it a few times in scripture where they refer back to job he says have you heard of the patience of job that word patience is the consistency the consecration the over and over the ordinary obedience everybody wants the extraordinary but the extraordinary outpourings come from ordinary obedience natural outpourings come from natural days huh over and over and over he did it continually have you you heard of the consistency of job the question for you tonight is could somebody say have they heard of the consistency of Brad have you heard of the consistency huh of Colby I don't know if there's any I don't know if there's anything that could be better characterized about somebody than for Pastor to walk up and say have you seen the consistency of that young lady have you seen the consistency of that family nobody has to applaud you for coming in and serving nobody has to Pat you in the back nobody has to call you nobody's got to send you a text reminder it doesn't matter if all things fade away all things are good or all things are bad I'm going to be in the house of God I'm going to be at an altar in the morning where God's going to know that I'm continually going to be in his presence have you considered have you considered my servant you can look back you can look forward but could we close the Night by looking up could we lift our hands and I want to pray but I want you to pray with me in this closing prayer tonight could you lift up your voice and just thank God come on no matter how good it is right now no matter how bad it is no matter how bad it was could you just praise him for a moment come on with your words God I love you God I thank you for every moment God that you picked me up God I thank you for everything in my past oh God that you buried in baptism God that you've covered at an altar with your blood God that you took a blood Stripes upon your back for every time I was healed and I was touched God I thank you for the stories of redemption across this room God I thank you that you went away to prepare a place for us God that we have a bright future as the church and as the bride God but I stand in this place tonight that no matter what the situation looks like no matter what sickness may be sitting in this room no matter what uncertainty may be sitting in this room I know that one thing is for sure that if you are for us that nothing could stand against us that if you are with me tonight that I can raise a Hallelujah in the midst of whatever's going on in my life God that I can lift up a shot of Praise no matter what I'm going through come on could you shout hallelujah tonight God I thank you God I thank you for the answers God I thank you for the answers oh God I praise you tonight I worship you everybody shout amen amen God bless you don't don't forget any announcements this weekend is going to be a great time pastor's not getting on any more planes huh he text me said Allegiance stands for instant in season and out of season so God bless you all thank you for being here this Wednesday night
