The Doormat of Deliverance | Student Pastor Zach Hammond

Mark chapter 6 Mark chapter 6 and verse number 10 if you would turn in your Bibles tonight what a great time that we've had all day give honor to pastor and that great word that we heard this morning on on Hope Amen on hope if you're thankful for our pastor why don't you give him and first lady a big hand thankful for them what a great great word so thankful to have all of our guests with us tonight and I've seen quite a a few uh faces that are here for the first time some returning guests and we say welcome here to First Apostolic church thank you so much for being here and worshiping with us it it uh it means the world to us that you would be with us and we just pray that you feel a part of the family of God here at this great great group of people it's good to have uh Jordan and kayn die with us and uh some great friends of ours and he's helping us with some audio him and kayin they they work with brother Cooper and brother uh Cooper's team they help us with Strong Tower and we basically send the spend the whole summer with them and uh they make us look good and sound good and they're helping us with some things and we're just uh thankful for friends that are helping us further the kingdom of God Amen Mark 6 verse number 10 says and he said unto them in what place soever you enter into a house there abide till ye depart from that place and whosoever shall not receive you nor hear you when you depart then shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony again against them for a testimony against them verily I say unto you it shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that City that's quite a statement anybody remember what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah huh he said it would be better do you understand what he's saying there it' be better to be in Sodom and gomorah than it would to be in a house where the disciples brought you the good news and you refused it very interesting here in fact Luke tells us in Luke 9 if you want to turn over verse number one then he called 12 disciples together and gave them power and authority over all Devils everybody say all Devils all of them big ones small ones the ones that mess with you the ones that mess with me all of them right all devils and to cure diseases and he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick and he said unto them take nothing for your journey neither staves nor script and he don't he don't take anything with you don't take the the the beggar's bag don't take bread don't take money don't take two coats he said I want you to be completely Reliant upon me trust me he's saying there and whatsoever house here we go verse four Luke records whatsoever house you enter into there abide and then depart and whosoever will not receive you when you go out of that City shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them I want to preach to you for just a few minutes tonight brother clayber and I'm going to do my best just a few minutes tonight he asked me he said are you preaching tonight and I said yes sir he said 7:37 you can't do it you know and uh well we'll see we'll see what the Lord wants to do I'm going to pre preach to St for just a few moments tonight on the doormat of Deliverance the doormat of Deliverance somebody look at your neighbor and tell him say the doormat the doormat of Deliverance turn to your other neighbor say I'm going to help him preach tonight I'm going to help him preach tonight you can be seated God bless you for standing for the word of the Lord I uh have figured out that I am uh recently I realize that if you're going anywhere um until I can get this curse Rel released off of me if you're going anywhere you don't want to travel with me over the past few weeks every time I go to get on a plane to come back home they say delayed delayed delayed delayed cancelled and uh so last week we drove or I drove in a very small car um however long it took I managed to stop one time between here and somewhere in Louisiana and got back and then sure enough Friday night we I preached in uh Brooklyn this week was a quite an experience and got to uh Minister there in in Brooklyn New York with uh um some friends there a great church a great district and uh got ready to come home and sure enough brother mayford last night I got that delayed alert on my phone and it just kept going back and kept going back and I was sitting in Newark Airport at 1:00 a.m. and it just kept kept moving back and we weren't even coming home we were going to Atlanta so I knew once I got to Atlanta I still got to get here and I just couldn't help but last night I I'll be completely honest with you a lot of things were going on this weekend I I wasn't supposed to preach tonight and I my mind was kind of weighed down with once I found out that I was preaching tonight what am I going to preach and last night I went to walk over the threshold in my garage and I looked down and I thought man I'm glad to be here I am glad to be home and I just put my feet on this mat in my garage and just kind of took a breath before I stepped into the house and I thought if God you want me to preach to somebody can they just be in 37801 for a little while I don't really want to travel right now it's just been a just glad to be home and I I it's a it's an interesting thing when you began to read scripture it was a this this thing here that that is kind of puzzling it he says I want you to dust your feed off as a testimony against them and and I I I've read this before and did a little bit of studying on it but it was a Jewish custom that back in the day and in in their Jewish ways and Biblical times they did some things that perhaps you wouldn't do now obviously but um they would they would dust their feet off inside the house before they left to make sure that they didn't have any any any even a particle of dust on them of any Gentile way they would make sure that if they left one house where they were trying to share the gospel they were trying to be in the world but not of the World when they left Brother P they weren't going to have anything on them that would that would that would cause them to be Associated or to look like or to smell like or to talk like or to walk like or to dress like or to you see what I'm saying they they were very adamant about that they didn't want to have any it was it was it was believed that it was encouraging the disciples also to not be weary with those who were not receiving the gospel to just shake the dust off your feet move on to the next home and the next city and find someone that is looking for good news find somebody that's looking for Hope find somebody that needs God find somebody that's hungry for change change find somebody that's tired of doing the same old same old been just facing the same old issue I'm looking for something and then then you you'll see some success and so they took it very serious where the Bible they would do something in the physical that we I feel like should be very aware of and this maybe the physical I do believe that there's some places we shouldn't go I'll say that again I do believe there's some places you shouldn't go the atmosphere is not right for a child of God to be in amen I I do do believe that there's some places that you shouldn't you shouldn't find yourself you shouldn't be uh be be there among but I think that much the more in the spiritual that we need to be aware of the things that we are around the things that we are associated with that when we we come back into uh we we come back into our home or we come back into our our situations as fathers and as mothers and as young people that we make sure that we are constantly reminded that we are in this world but we are not of this world that we want to do everything at all times to make sure that we are we are living as Christ would have us live we are pleasing him we are Christian but in the Bible we see that there are only certain things you could you could barter with you there's only certain things you could trade with ultimately um it was it was things that that you either if you could look at it this way it was either Things That Grew From the ground or grazed on the ground and the reason that they did this is they wanted in order for you to be able to trade or you to be able to barter they wanted you to have land because what good is a seed if you don't have soil right what good is a sheep if you don't have somewhere for it to graze so therefore it had to be something that grew from the ground or something that grazed on the ground and so land was extremely important and so throughout the Bible you'll see the significance not only in the Old Testament but in the New Testament that where their feet would go was of great importance where their feet would would step and where they would trod you'll use that they'll use that word it had trodden under their feet or they had stepped here or their feet wherever their feet would go and and we see this that land was very important and even still to this day land is something that is very sought after but the children of Israel are a good example in scripture where Moses comes to tell Pharaoh he says Let My People Go and through a series of plagues we see that the night of the Passover the blood on the doorpost that he says I want you to put it on the two sides and the top and I want you to to make sure that you've done everything correctly and death could not come in and we see immediately that when God begins to deliver people he'll use this door as a sign of significance and and and I want you to make note of that the blood told them you're not welcome here you're not crossing over this threshold this house is protected this is a house where there's somebody that believes in the god of Abraham and Isaac and J we we we see that you can you can see a lot of that in the in in the tights and the shadows of Christianity I believe today that there'd be a whole lot less blood spiled in the house if there was more blood on the house if we could look at it that way if we would sacrifice and we would pray and we would do everything we're supposed to do there would be a whole lot less of the Next Generation that is falling by the wayside amen I don't know about you but I'm I'm very I'm very concerned about the ways of our world and making sure that the generation to come Mom and Dad that we are not allowing our our our young people or our children to find find themselves where they're not dusting their feet off when they come in the house from the things of the world and they're not making sure that there's some things that they need to stay away from and there's some things that they need to not do so there was sacrifice there was consecration that's what that blood represented it was a it was a powerful thing that happened there and we see that the children of Israel are now God's delivered them and out of the hand of pharaoh and you know they were 30 they were about 30 years I think the Bible tells us about 30 years that they were guest they were guests there in Egypt they had allowed them to come in the Bible quickly shifts there and it says that says that there was Rosa Pharaoh he he didn't know Joseph he didn't know the story of the favor and all the dreams and all the things and so all of a sudden they went from being a guest to being a slave can you imagine just overnight you go from a guest to being a slave 30 years of being a guest and being treated because of the prosperity that your nation brought to these people you saved this land you saved these people from a famine and you were a guest so all of a sudden now you are a slave and you're not a slave for you were a guest for 30 years but you're a slave for 400 four generations four generations for 40 uh for 40 years there I'm I'm sorry 40 years Moses dies we see this this process lays out and the person you're dependent on dies and now they find themselves in the wilderness and they need to cross over the water and everything we see Joshua comes in and he says I'll be with you you as I was with Moses and we can go through the whole thing I don't have time to take you through every little part of the story but it's very important that we see that this process of Deliverance is all about getting them to a land it's all about getting these people the the the free the the the freedom that they're seeking after is is attached to a land I want you to make sure that you note that and he says he says I'm going to be with you the way I was with Moses and I'm I'm not I'm there there's so different things Joshua he's known as a fighter he almost gets in a fight with God he runs up on this Angel and he says who side are you on and there's all these things that happening but he tells Joshua in Joshua chapter 1 you turn the page Moses dies and verse number three of Joshua 1 says every place that the soul of your foot shall tread upon that I have given unto you as I said unto Moses from the Wilderness and this Lebanon and the Great River the river Euphrates and the land of the Hittites and of the great sea towards going down to the sun shall be your Coast so he said wherever your feet will step I will give it to you wherever your feet will try don't every Everybody wish that was true today amen I know there's some land I'd run to right now just jump on it you you it's it's it's very interesting here where obviously we don't live this way today and if somebody's got this promise and this happens to you I want to come hang out with you but I don't believe that it's happening in the physical however I do believe spiritually that God has gave favor to mankind there's some people that favor is following them and you need to take note of that I know that's not fun because favor is something that seems to not always be fair right favor seems to be something that it's easy to get get up and rejoice when it's happening at your house but it's not so easy to rejoice when it's happening at somebody else's house right it it's something that that it's he says Rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn it's a whole lot easier to mourn with those who mourn than it is to Rejoice with those who Rejoice but he says that you've got to understand that that that in the in the physical here Joshua has this way he has this promise that as your foot shall tread upon it he says I'm going to give it to you look at Joshua chapter 5 and verse number 13 and it came to pass Joshua was by Jericho and he lifted up his eyes and looked and behold there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand and Joshua said unto him are are are you for us or you for the adversaries Joshua was known as a fighter he said but as a captain of the host of the Lord I now come and Joshua fell on his face on the earth and did worship and said unto him who saith my Lord unto his what saith my Lord unto his servant and the captain of the Lord's host said unto Joshua luk loose thy shoe off thy foot for the place whereon thou standest is Holy and Joshua Joshua did so now I I know that a lot of you are are scholars in the Bible but he just told him that he was going to be with him like he was with Moses right he said I'm going to give you everything that your feet touch it's amazing to see that Moses did all that he did and the process and Moses is this powerful character in The Bible but he didn't cross over into the land that it was all about and all of a sudden we have this this powerful picture here that we see that Joshua is now doing the same thing that Moses did at the burning bush when God wants to establish this leader and God wants to establish this transition and God wants to establish this change all say he says take your shoes off don't worry we're not going to have no foot washing tonight nobody's going to have to take your shoes off and this is not a lesson on on feet we're going to get somewhere I hope but he says this land he said where you stand what's under your feet is Holy he said I want you to loose your sandals loose your shoes and feel the power under your feet as a child of God understand what the scripture is saying because what they did in the physical you today have in the spiritual that the power of where you tread the power of where you walk Sometimes some of you step into a room and we never truly we never truly understand what happens when we as a Christian who obtain we we we've got the Holy Ghost living inside of us dwelling inside of us what we have when we step into a room when we step into a service when we step into an atmosphere or we walk onto the situ situation we ought to feel that there's a change and there's a shift there's a powerful promise here there's land all of a sudden there's a promise there's soil for the seed you've got a place that you put your foot on that now the sheep can graze all of a sudden you're not just a free people but the Bible says you're a free indeed because now you can create Commerce you can make cha trades and you can do things because you have a land and he says uh your land just pretty much is going to be wherever you put your feet so your promise becomes a thing that it's wherever you're willing to step out your promise becomes a thing wherever you're willing to take action your promise becomes that thing that you become motivated and you become inspired to be able to go after there's some of you that are sitting in this place tonight and I've come to preach and I've come to to speak to potential I've come to speak to somebody tonight that you've allowed you allowed the devil to convince you to just just just just let's just step back and just let somebody else do that let's just let's just maybe take a take a break from that it's really busy and we're in this season of our life and this is going on and that's going on and be after all God told me that when I was a young person and God I felt like I was called but maybe I really wasn't and and if you're not careful you find yourself and you just sit at the place where it's just you're just one step away from that door that God wants to open but you're not willing to place your feet in the right place with the faith enough to walk in it you say well what is that it's different for every single person in this place tonight every single person in this room it doesn't matter your age from the youngest person to the oldest person you're still breathing which mean God still has something else for you God wants you to do something I'll tell you what every single person in this room is still called to do and that is win a soul every person in this room is still called that every time you step into a room it ought to be that you change the atmosphere it ought to be that somebody says they're different there's something different about them and so I I want to get it through uh get it through your mind tonight with some scripture and help you understand in your spirit that you've got the ability to be able to step into something new tonight everybody say tonight tonight tonight you've got the ability to step into something that God has for you you say oh no it's just another Sunday night you don't know what I've done you don't know what I'm struggling with you don't know the doubt in my mind I'm here to speak against that tonight what a moment for Joshua as he remembers this this moment perhaps Moses had told him how he got to where he was and he God he he showed himself in a burning bush and he told me to take his sandals off and take my sandal off my breath This Moment's now happening for him and he's going to be able to experience all these things God is showing us this great significance of Psalms 119 and 133 let's look at it in some scripture you've quoted it perhaps in prayer order my steps in your word and let not any iniquity have dominion notice that word dominion in fact I want you to really see he said uh let me order my steps in your word and let not my iniquity have diin domion over me I fear that tonight there's people sitting in this room that your sin has dominion over you and it's caused you to not take a step you sit you come in you soothe your conscience you make yourself feel good by your simple attendance but you're just on the doormat of Deliverance you say well what is Deliverance I'm not saying that God's delivering you from drugs he did that a long time ago I'm not saying God's delivering you from your past he did that a long long time ago but God didn't he he he he didn't he didn't deliver you to become a uh just a person on a Pew he brought you out of Darkness into this marvelous he brought you out of Egypt and he's taking you to a Promised Land not just so that you can be there but so that you can be about his business right so so there's so many of you that I feel tonight the Lord has prompted me and pushing me I don't know who it is but I believe that that we could all really apply it I know the Lord is is pushing me in a direction right now you say well where where am I supposed to go you know that we're all created differently we all struggle differently but God is pushing you and each and every one of you know that if you would just take that step I believe that God would honor it I know it's so simple it seems like something we would bring to a Sunday school class but we must walk in his word we sing about this but we don't walk in it on on Mondays we sing about this on Sundays but we don't walk in it on Tuesdays we sing about the goodness of God but we walk around with doubt and unbelief and we sing that he's a miracle worker we sing that he opened up blinded eyes and we read about it but do we truly walk he said order my steps in your word do you walk in the word that you you claim we all claim we stand here tonight we claim to be Christians who live by this but do we I'm not asking for Perfection that there's no such thing we're all we're saved by grace God is teaching us each and every day but we all ought to be taking a step every single day ordering our steps in the word walking in what we know let not the iniquity let not have sin have dominion over me we've got to get it through our minds that repentance is just as good the the the fourth or fifth or 50th or 60th time 600 time as it was the first time when you come and you ask God to forgive you and he he you you got to get it out of your mind you got to forgive yourself and I'm afraid that some of you you thought it just worked the first time and you thought that the the water just worked the first time that water is the word that you're supposed to be walking in that washes you in the old in the New Testament it cleanses you it says it over and over again to be washed with the word every day how do I do that I walk in the word I'm an overcomer by the blood of the lamb and the word of my t testimony there's greater in me than he that is in the world I'm not going to allow my iniquity to have dominion on me and to keep me on the brink of what God has for me many of us are sitting on potential there's people that are dying there's people that are lost there's people that are hopeless there's people that are not going to make it and it's all dependent upon us getting after what God's called us to get After Passion driven what are you doing in the kingdom of God I ask myself this all the time I know I've got I've got I've got an eight-year-old a four-year-old life's busy things are going on we're trying to do this we're trying to do that but what are we gaining if we gain this whole world and lose our soul what are we gaining if we feel like that we've done all these things by the proverbial American dream when all the while the kingdom of God is trying to advance the kingdom of God is trying to move forward what are you doing in the church what are you doing in the kingdom of God don't be somebody that's sitting and standing on the doorm of potential God's called you to do something great God's called you to do something Beyond where you're at right now God's called you to my my my I didn't think it'd be this hard I mean I I'll just be honest with you I love creating awkward situations I did it the other night and it was really bad I was but we're not we're not really talking about the things tonight that would cause you to not be encouraged you know I I just finished the class and most of the reasons that many of you deal statistically with a lack of purpose anxiety fear frustration worry doubt is because you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing it's not a lack of prayer it's not a lack of Bible reading it's not a lack of knowledge it's a lack of action it's it's it's a frustrating thing to see it's a frustrating statistic to read that how many people they just get so caught up and feel like that this just who I am that I can't be who God wants me to be they just say and I I can't help but tonight I I was praying in my office and I I just saw person after person that has so much potential that this is just where you're at and I don't however long you feel in your mind that you've been here but I can see even I just just me just wanting stuff for young people I can see young people with so much potential if I can see that there's no telling what God can see right on I I if if if Mom or Dad or Pastor or a teacher or somebody saying hey buddy just step out hey hey if you feel that nudge just a little bit of maybe your spouse saying hey we really ought to be doing more around the church or we really ought to be praying a little bit more at home or we really ought to be a little bit more focused on what we're investing our time in what we're investing our treasure in where we're putting our talents you feel that little bit of tug you better go ahead and step through that door because God forbid we stand before him with unused potential that God gave you a treasure and you buried it God gave you a talent and you didn't use it God gave you the breath the time in your lungs and we didn't use it for the kingdom of God he's calling us to do more the thing that has got us and it's just it's not just this unlocked potential but it's the thing that we're sitting here on the doorstep because we have in our proverbial Minds we've created this Christian culture and this church culture within the world today that well if I'm not used in X Y and Z then I don't really think I'm just just going to be a churchgoer and if we're not careful Apostolic has become a label and not a movement it's become something that I want to be associated with I believe this because this is the crowd I want to be around that's ultimately what all denominations are many people I know believe the truth but they don't want to leave the people they run with so they'll keep preaching what they're preaching CU that's who they want to hang out with it has nothing to do with belief systems they say oh I believe it the way you believe it but I got to keep running with this crowd it's What It ultimately comes down to with politics it comes who who do you want to be with and it gets us to this place where we find ourselves and we we've just we just set back on what God truly wants us to do and what God's called us to do because we just can't get out of this I'm telling somebody tonight there's a land that flows with milk and honey there are things that God wants to perform if you would just be willing to take a step God has promised it to you your your steps matter what you're doing with your time and your your talent and your treasure matters the Lord wants to give you victory in your steps the Lord wants to fulfill Great and Mighty things within each and every one of you I don't know about you but that's good news to me Psalms 8 and verse number four what is a man that thou art mindful of him and the son of man that thou visited him for thou has made him a little lower than the angels and has crowned him with glory and honor and has made him to have dominion over the works of his hand th has pul it put all things under his feet all things you have the ability to step out and have dominion over all things what's troubling you take a step what is bothering you take a step what's frustrating you take a step of action walk in the goodness of God Walk in the glory of God Walk in the victory Of God you're a Overcomer by the blood of the lamb and the word of her testimony that I've come to encourage somebody tonight let you know that you can just take a step and things will change you can take a step and all of a sudden there'll be a shift there's a new land for you there's promises for you I know pastor's watching that he can address this later and fix it trust me he will but if we're not careful I am always and I know this is just I'm just weird sorry but every time I'm up here every time I preach somewhere anytime I'm given the opportunity I don't take it lightly but I kind of check what's going on I can feel what's happening in the room and there's a sweep across our movement it's not just here it's not just in this church but we need to be careful in the apostolic movement that we don't get so caught up and everything that we're against that we forget what we're for can I can I preach to you on a Sunday night for just a moment I'll just be honest with you I could go tearing into some things right now that we're against and this place Go Buck Wild can I just be honest with you for a few moments it's everywhere I go but when I get up and say greater is he that's in you than he that's in the world I I don't know if I can believe that I I'm telling you that you can take a step and have dominion over everything that's troubling you I tell you that you can stop dealing with the same old issues and you can have Victory and you can oh I I don't know if I can believe that but I can I could get on board and I could get I could get excited about some things if you start you know you you just just throw some things across the bow at the world talk about how how bad the world is we better be careful that we forget how good God's been to us because we're not walking we're we're just doorstep Christians if all we can do is just stand on the fact well yeah I dress this way and I don't do that and I don't go there and I shake my now you understand where I'm going to preach huh I can dust my my doubt off on the Gentiles but can you win a soul I I I want you to dust your doubt off I want you to realize that God is for you he said I'll make thy enemies thy foot stol I'll give it to you if you're willing to step on it if you have enough Faith to put your foot on it if you have enough Faith to take some action I'll give it to you it's it's powerful it's all throughout the scripture I'll give it to you and and and and and I I I I could see the Lord almost it's like and and we we stand back here many times it's like Lord if you'll give it to me I'll take it that's us we just sit around hoping to God that he he gives us favor like he gave it to somebody else we just think that the blessings of the Lord just fall on people no they did something reap seow that's the whole Bible you have a two trees two roads two houses it's a choice it's a book of actions it's not a book of Lord I'm G to sit here and just wait till no you got to get off the doormat and realize that your deliverance and your promise and your victories all the things that you want are in action you got to take a step you got to walk in it it's not something that's good and we sit back many times as Christians and many people live their entire Christian Life thinking Lord if you'll give it to me I'll take it whereas it seems like in Scripture it says it it says it different if you'll take it I'll give it to you God is looking for a passionate he said the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous of what what's that tell me it says there's an there's an unaffected prayer that's the logic of the Bible right if there's one there's the other if there's good there's bad the effectual fervent prayer many of us you know why your prayers are not effective just doormat you don't believe he's really going to do it you ask him just like you asked him 30 days ago just like you asked him two months ago three months ago and you don't truly believe that he's going to do it and so therefore we we have a God who wants to give you everything he said I I I'm a rewarder of those who seek me they will find me guess what you have to do to find him seek him he don't just show up he inhabits the he don't just come in the room it's all through scripture I I I could I could you you could leave obese with scripture tonight you got me you don't just get God he says if you'll take it I'll give it to you wherever you'll step I'll give you Victory if you'll take some action then I'll do something on M those who seek me find me knock and it'll be open the door is there it's an opportunity he's waiting for you to come on in There's an opportunity in front of each and every person tonight it doesn't matter if it's the guest or if youve help found this place and you've been here for however long you've been serving the lord for for longer than been alive there is something more for you God wants to do something in your life every place he says that your foot shall tread upon he says I'm going to give it to you take your shoes off this is Holy Ground it's time to take back to some moms and some dads I want to speak preach to you tonight I've felt it in my spirit I've talked to the teachers about it this week or it's time that we take back what the enemy has stole from us it's time that we begin to to take some action against some of those prodal that that have left the house it's time that we take some action against some things and we we allow we really put God to the test with some of our prayers that he's he's going to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask for things so what does that mean we have to act we have to do something so if you'll start asking and get off of the doorm then perhaps God will exceed your expectations if you'll start praying some big prayers you might get some big answers but until we decide that we are going to go beyond this this this this status quo and the thing that we've always done I'm telling somebody the Lord is speaking to you tonight the Lord has sent me for you tonight that it's time to take a step it's time to cross over you've been where you're at way too long you've thought that way too long you've had that that misconceived idea you've been deceived in your mind way too long you've thought that way towards the church and you've thought that way towards those people way too long it's time to Step Beyond that it's time to cross over 2 Corinthians 2: 14 says now thanks be unto God which always causes us to Triumph in Christ somebody say always come on say it loud always always causes us to Triumph and maketh manifest the savior of our knowledge By Us in every place Deliverance comes to those with Godly determination it is our attitude and a trial that makes us push to open open the door of Deliverance with our praise can you praise him when everything's going wrong can you worship him and take steps even when you don't see him working that is walking by I'm telling you it's all over the Bible what is faith if I don't walk in it I walk by I take a step into it why he's got significance of what's under your feet he wants you to step into something new you say well how do I activate my faith you act in it it was Paul and Silas who prayed and sang sang Praises unto God and the prisoners heard them and suddenly there was a great earthquake why because they were doing something they didn't put their thumb in their mouth because they were in prison they said I'm going to make the best of this situation there's some of you tonight that that you feel like oh God's done put me in this place and I feel like that everything's gone wrong and I I feel like I'm in that Valley of core that brother Carpenter was talking about this morning and I can't see my way out I'm here to tell you tonight if you'll just take a step and watch God work that I believe that all of a sudden some things will begin to Shake in your life all of a sudden some things will begin to change in your life all of a sudden you may see the door swing open that you've been looking to open for a long long time he said immediately all the doors were open and everyone's bands were loose I believe some somebody is going to step beyond that doormat tonight the battle the battle is keeping the devil where he's supposed to be that's ultimately it I don't know why we make such a big deal about the devil we make such a big deal about all of the things look at what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15 and 19 if in this if in this life only we have hope in Christ we're of all men most miserable but now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first fruits of them that slept for Since By Man Came Death by man also came the resurrection of the Dead for as in Adam all die even so in Christ shall all be made alive but every man in his own order Christ the first Roots afterward that they were the that that they are Christ at his coming then cometh the end and when he shall uh shall have delivered look at this he shall have delivered up the kingdom of God even the father when he shall have put down all Rule and all authority and power for he must Reign till he hath put all enemies under his feet The Last Enemy that shall be destroyed is death but for he hath put all things under his feet for when he saith all things are put under him it is manifested and he is accepted which did put all things under him even when Christ begins to reference things we talk about being in Christ when you talk about being baptized into Christ when when you he's going to reference all of these things he's going to say I'm going to put them under my feet there's such a significance here over and over and over again Old Testament New Testament David he said uh he he not only slew the D giant he went and stood says he stood on the giant he put his feet on him Jesus is ready tonight he's already conquered it all he's already won it all Victory Is Ours if we just keep the devil where the devil is supposed supposed to be he's not some great big thing that is lurking around every corner yes he's a roaring line seeking whom he may devour he's after us and he he's trying to do this but ultimately the Bible just tells us that we have the victory to put him under our feet your hands are free you're free to say whatever you want it's just another step it's that simple you say oh well you you don't know what I'm going through one step one raise of the leg spiritually but perhaps physically one step and you've got the devil where he's supposed to be Paul closes his letter to the church at Rome and puts it as straightforward as you can get it he says and God the God of Peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly the grace of our go Lord Jesus Christ be with you a man that's how he closes it out he said don't forget the devil's supposed to be under your feet Don't You Dare Forget that whatever you're going through whatever your struggle is whatever you're facing that's where he's supposed to be and and Paul is this powerful person if we could just learn from him for for just a moment The Keeper of the prison was converted when Paul and Silas Broke Free that The Keeper of the prison well they they said they had to change the guards out with Paul he would be in there writing he's writing the letters he's got these these four letters that that they're the prison letters he wrote for prison they said they kept having to change the guards out cuz he was converting them powerful man he he's there in the midst of a situation you say well how in the world is this this happened to him what happens when when you will worship on the wrong side of the door in the wilderness in the mess where's the promise where's the calling can you convert the Bible says that he converted the doors sang open he walks out the guard's going to kill himself the Bible says he says don't he says what do I have to do to be saved he knew what question to ask and Paul converts what just held him captive see that with me tonight Paul converts what just a few moments before held him how why how in the world do you do something like that he just worships and Praises in prison so what what's my excuse for a lack of action what's my excuse for a lack of praise and worship and a response to God it becomes this Kingdom exchange here where I know you you you you many times people I'm being held back and look at my situation and look at this and look at I believe that if you're able to take those that and the things that you know once held you captive you know many commentaries will say that Paul was actually God ordained to be in prison what did Paul do before he was Paul he was Saul right and he did what he threw Christians in prison and killed them many commentaries believe that while he was in prison in Rome he would have shared the same jail as some of the same people he threw in there what would it be like to be a Christian sitting in jail and the man that locked you up comes delivered you the man that threw you in there and persecuted you perhaps he he he he perhaps he he was the very one that threw him threw them in there comes in he's he's over there talking about how good the Lord is he's over there converting the guy with the keys they're thinking this Joker's the one put me in here what's he doing it's amazing how the Lord Works Paul's in writing a letter of Hope to those outside of the situation so my point about all of this is that it doesn't matter where you're at you can still take a step it doesn't matter you can't let your Prison Walls or your situation or your family or anything there's no excuse for not taking a step there's no reason not to take a step in God there's no reason not to encourage somebody there's no reason not to to be about the father's business what can you do right now that can advance the kingdom of God that's how God works he'll let the very person that put you in there come minister to you and get you out very interesting but a man in prison writes he writes these I'm gonna move through them very quick I got to get on it brother brother clayber ain't going to make it a man in prison starts writing in Phil Philippians chapter 2 he says wherefore God has also highly exalted him has also High hath highly exalted him and given him a him a name which is above every name we're talking about a man that's in prison that let let where he's at resonate through the words of the pages for you these are scriptures that we quote and we sing all the time and we don't even consider the fact that it's a man that perhaps they said he was in Fetters acts tells they reference back to it he was in Fetters he was tied up so that he had he had somebody write it for him but he's he's talking hey write this letter we're talking about a man that's bound up so much that he can't even write he says there there is a God which has highly exalted himself and a name which is above every name he said I want you to write that down that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in Earth and things under the Earth it's say well my situations no there's always something you can do he said every tongue's going to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father you know he wrote Philippians 3:14 with chains around his hands and around his I press toward the mark of the High Calling how you pressing I'm just doing what I can do what can you do right now right now I'm not I'm not saying you you say it doesn't matter what age you are you don't have an excuse to the youngest to the youngest student in here there's no excuse for not worshiping there's no excuse for not being in the prayer room I'll go ahead and get on a little bit of that there's no excuse for somebody of age in the youth group to not be in the choir there's no what sorry I felt that a little bit why why would we not want to be a part of something that promotes young people to worship gets here early for the prayer room why would we not want to take a step of whatever we can do right now is there somebody that you know right now that if you offered them a Bible study they would they would take it there's somebody right now that you know you could text there's something that you could you could begin to use right now your time your ability your talents that you could put he said I'm in prison but in Philippians 4 he says rejoice in the lord always and again I say rejoice and let the peace of God which passes all we're talking about a man that's in prison he's writing to you about peace what what's our excuse we allow this the smallest situation and the littlest of things to to AR Rock our whole world that we just put our whole calling on pause we put our whole everything we've committed to everything that we've signed up for everything that we want to do and we feel like God's called us to do we say I don't know if I can do that right now I'm just in a season I believe that this church is on the brink of a great Revival there's a brink of a harvest that's about to happen in this church and the question is are you going to be a part of it because when it happens and when it when it begins to shift if you're not a part of the purpose it's going to be easy for you to feel left out I'm here to tell you tonight I feel like the Lord is is speaking specifically to some people tonight he says I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me Wella what are you going to do in prison Paul I'm going to do whatever I can he said' but my God shall supply all your need according to his riches and Glory by Christ Jesus do you realize how many powerful verses that we quote all the time are in a book called Philippians that was written by a man in jail words that encourage us words that motivate us words that push us and prod us to do things look at this Philippians chap 4 verse number 21 salute every saint in Jesus Christ this is his closer for Philippians the Brethren which are are with me greet you all the saints Salute You chiefly that are of Caesar's household this guy Paul he ain't playing games he's not just converting Brother Dean those that are in the jails and and those that are he he said there's some saints in Caesar's house he just lets them know that I'm doing what I'm called to do even though I'm in here in CH in feathers and chains I'm in here and you you you you you can't look past the the the the the call the the burden that has to fall on us as Christians to get after and do something in the kingdom of God there's something here that God wants us to see that if we'll just take the step that he will meet us there that no matter where you're at tonight the Lord didn't bring us here just to live off the land he didn't just bring us to the promised land so that we could just live off the benefits he didn't just bring us to this place that we reference as the Marvel Miracle just to settle here he didn't bring us here in this nice Auditorium with all the beautiful things that we have and the coffee shops and the this and that to just be associated with the Apostolic Church there's greater things to be done in this city and I can't help but come to you tonight and just try to push somebody over the threat threshold just try to urge you that maybe it was something that you used to do maybe it it's something that you were just helping with the culture of things or whatever it is maybe it's just being in the prayer room maybe it's just being in this being involved in that but I'm here to push you in your calling just say hey invite somebody to church be a part of the kingdom of God there's a door that God wants you to walk through each and every day there's a process there's a growth that God wants you to be a part of but I can't help but think that it's no coincidence that if we could just talk for a moment of the position of the enemy they tell us that sin lies at the door so the Bible references a door many many times as doors of opport Unity doors to do right doors to do wrong he uses this doorway as something as who's on the Lord's Side in the Old Testament he uses this place of Passage that many of us sit here and I believe that the battle of the enemy is on this doormat and I can't help but correlate scripture to see that as they reference the people of God the men of God who go in and share the good news to knock their feet off as they leave the house of what they would consider worse than Sodom and Gomorrah as they knock their feet off they knock the dust off I don't know about you and I but when the Bible goes to create mankind he says I'm going to make them from the dust of the ground and so dust is associated with our flesh we're Dusty human beings it gets dusty around here at the church if you're not careful you allow yourself to think about leaving just because people are dusty you know people crucify Jesus don't think they won't crucify you people are not perfect never have been never will be and if you don't comprehend Mercy for yourself you won't comprehend it for anybody else the ability for us to forgive each other the ability for us to knock the dust off and be able to walk across the threshold and no matter what anybody else is doing no matter how big their cross is no matter what's happening in somebody else's life can you knock the dust off of of of of being bitter can you knock the dust off of being jealous can you knock the dust off of not having what others have can you knock the dust oh I've got this opportunity or can you knock the dust off when you have the opportunities and the moments and after the wind many people fail after the win it's not always after the failure many people fail after the wi you know Noah fell when he come off the ark not getting on it after he saved the whole world he got off the ark and he got off in the wrong order and he got off with his his wife in the back and he got off and he didn't do some things right and he got drunk and so sometimes it's not all about the failure sometimes it's about the success and if we're not careful we'll let that dust get all over us and our head will get a little bit big and pride will get the best of us and we'll think that we're walking through doors on our own and it won't be a door of God we'll be taking land that we were never supposed to inhabit we'll be in places we were never supposed to be I'm here to tell you tonight that it's crucial that you knock the dust off that you get your flesh out of the way that you got to forgive you got to forget you got to realize that greater is he that's in me than anything else I can't do it without it him I can't make it without him I'd be a mess without him I don't deserve anything God gets all the glory and I'm encouraging somebody if you'd stand to your feet tonight I'm almost done but I'm encourag you just to just knock the dust off but the Bible gets real interesting when all of a sudden the enemy Satan who finds himself speaking to Eve Eve's deceived is disobedient she believed a lie AE of fruit of the tree and now sin has entered the world with sin comes consequences the consequences of that for man and woman you all know very well we live in it you walk outside you're going to sweat you you're going to experience but the the interesting thing is what he does to the devil brother Cole he says to the dust you'll go and not only are you destined to the dust but your diet will be the dust so interesting because we we see many times in the physical just like taking that step in the physical it's a spiritual thing that the snake is a snake in the physical but it's a snake in the spiritual so it's snakes are carnivores so the flesh is identified as the dust right so he feeds off the flesh he works through the flesh he works in the dust and so what happens when you're willing to knock the dust off and take a step you put him where he's supposed to be when you knock the dust off of your flesh when you knock the dust of Doubt off of your life and you're willing to take take a step in faith God will do what only God can do you say well that that's it's it's very interesting but I'm not sure not sure I'm convinced you know Satan sometimes he gets us because he has he's seen it from Heaven's point of view you he's been there that's why it stinks so bad for him can't go back but he has a Heavenly perspective with a destination of Hell forever torment he's destined to dust whereas we're here trying to get there we have a Earthly perspective or could you say it with me like this a a Dusty perspective a fleshly perspective trying to get there he's been there and he's stuck here so sometimes he can get us here and through our Earthly Dusty perspective we'll sit here and we're just not able maybe on a Sunday we could knock the dust off but we just can't muster up enough Faith to have victory over him we can't muster up and I I just can't believe you don't know what I go through week to week you don't know what my what my wife and I go through you don't know my husband and I go through you don't know the doubts and the frustration you don't know the things that I've been through you if I took that step it would change every yeah it would change everything this the step towards God is the person man tonight tonight the step towards God is the person that your wife is looking for woman a step a step towards God is the person that your husband is looking for you say it's going to cause a lot of change when I start praying it's going to cause a lot of change when I commit to that it's going to put that's not who I am so I'm going to have to change who I am at home if I'm going to do that at church it's a step of Faith it's not a step of perfe affection but it's a step every day nobody's expecting you to all of a sudden end up at the Mark Paul said I just pressed toward it I just want to take a step I walk by faith and not by sight I know it don't look like it but I'm just asking somebody to take a step of Faith tonight I believe that God wants to do something I believe that God wants to change your perspective I want I believe somebody tonight needs to take a step step in Victory the devil is a liar and he wants to keep you in your situation as long as he can keep you there but I I I just feel the Lord's nudging somebody I feel the Lord's pushing somebody right now if you would just take a step these altars are open if you would just take a step towards him you can walk in the power of the Resurrection you can put him under your feet and you can order your steps in his word and you can actually walk by faith instead of just talking about it you can walk by faith and not by sight if you're tired of being in the same old that you've been in if you want to take a step towards God and seek him and I guarantee you you'll find him knock and I guarantee you he'll open because those that seek and those that thirst and those that hunger after him they shall be filled come on could I encourage somebody to take a step tonight it's been long enough for you to live in the situation you're in it's been long enough for you to be where you're at God's calling you to another level God's calling you to another dimension God's calling you to an altar of repentance God's calling you to to a watery grave of baptism if you've never been baptized tonight we can do that for you come on God's calling you take that next step come on young man take that next step you know God's got something for you but I want you to just take that step toward him tonight oh holy God Of Heaven Lord I pray over your people tonight Lord I pray that you would let your mercy draw us Lord let your goodness draw us tonight Lord we're nothing without you lord we've just come to knock the dust off tonight Lord we' come and we're standing God on the brink of Lord all the things that you have for us God we stand on the brink of your blessings God and we're here with Faith Lord we're here with Faith Lord we're here with faith tonight come on somebody needs to change and somebody knows what you need to do and God's asking you would you just let me work I'll work but who will let me I'll move but will you move I'll take a step but will you take a step oh the Lord's ministering right got enough in there that you could take a different one each day and as you step Across the Threshold of your home and you go out into the workplace or you go to the school or you go do whatever it is that you have to do each and every day that you know that what's under your feet you have dominion over no weapon formed against you shall prosper that you're more than a conqueror and you walk as a child of God and you allow yourself to take Dominion have dominion that's what you were created for one more time if you believe the word of the Lord tonight because it's good and it will not return void that whatever you s you will reap if you believe that tonight I wish youd lift your hands and just receive it one more time before you dismiss Lord we thank you for the word Lord I Thank you for what you've done in this house tonight Lord we we don't take for granted what we felt Lord we don't take for granted your presence Lord but most of all we want to hide your word in our hearts that we
