The Text: God's Word Shall Not Return Void
- He reads Isaiah 55:10-11: as the rain and snow come down from heaven and water the earth, so shall God's word be that goes forth out of His mouth — it shall not return void, but shall accomplish what He pleases.

The Final Authority Under Attack
- The word of God has many enemies today and is challenged on every hand — a CNN commentator recently said that both the Constitution and the Bible need to be amended.
- Satan's first recorded words in Genesis were "hath God said" — the same tool he still uses to plant doubt: did God say you can have your answer, did God say He would do the impossible, did God say He was coming back?
- The answer to the enemy, and to our own minds, is to speak back as Jesus did: "It is written," and it is true because He said so.
- Believers had better get it settled what they believe; there is no room for wavering or vacillating if they are going to survive what is coming next in this world.
Powerful Because of Who Sent It
- Rain and snow are effective and powerful because of who they came from — the all-powerful, all-wise Creator — and the word He sends is powerful for the same reason.
- The personality in the pulpit should make no difference: any man or woman giving the word of the Lord gives something powerful because of who it came from, and no preacher needs to take glory for a changed life.
- Isaiah 46:10: God declares the end from the beginning and says, "My counsel shall stand" — He has sworn it, and He is not taking any of it back.
- When God says "shall," there is no doubt: if He said no weapon formed against you shall prosper, the lid is on it, and heaven and earth shall pass away before His word does.

The Healing Word, Mixed with Faith
- The word of healing does not deflect back, get annulled, or get cancelled: "I am the Lord that healeth thee" — God can heal it all, and no trial, bondage, addiction, or disease is powerful enough to resist His word.
- He relates a church member's testimony: in desperate back pain the man laid his hands on a chart of the names and titles of Jesus Christ and God healed his body; days of recent stomach pain likewise went away after prayer.
- Emotions are God-given but will only take us to a certain point, and sometimes the wrong point; hold on by His word instead — "You said it, I believe it; You said it, and it's done."
- The word that is preached must be mixed with faith, as Hebrews says; rain that fell this week was not void — it had an effect — and the word of God, far more powerful than rain and snow, will have its effect too.

Creation: "And It Was So"
- At creation the earth was without form and void, empty of purpose, answers, and direction, with darkness upon the face of the deep — but God began ordering and saying, and He made the firmament and divided the waters, "and it was so."
- Sun, moon, and stars, cattle and beasts, and man himself — given dominion and food provision — all came by "let it be so"; the whole universe rests on that two-letter word, "so."
- God is not struggling with what we are struggling with, but He knows we are struggling — that is why He said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden," and promised rest.

Essential Because God Said So
- Visiting family in Mississippi, his young nephews teased him about "church rules" — but John 3:5 is not one of our church rules; it is God's rule and God's command.
- The new birth is essential not because it has been believed for 86 years, and not because a denomination holds to it, but because God said so: "Except a man be born of water" — baptism in Jesus name, with sins remitted.
- The Holy Ghost experience is for everybody: "the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off" — and no one needs to wonder whether it is for them.
- Nothing else has to be done on God's part for a person to receive the Holy Ghost: God is ready; repent, yield to God, begin praising Him, and the Spirit will give the utterance, because He said so.

"So Shall It Be": Judgment and Readiness
- Matthew 13:40 speaks of the end of the world and of judgment: as the tares — those not planted in God and not ready to meet Him — are gathered and burned in the fire, "so shall it be."
- As it was in the days of Noah — eating, drinking, marrying wives and giving in marriage, until the flood came and destroyed them all — so shall it be in the days of the Son of Man.
- This is not a negative tilt but a positive word of warning: be ready for that judgment day, and do not let doubt push you out of the building without making your way to prayer.
- He wants to forgive you of your sin; He is not willing that any should perish.

The God Who Raises Up the Decayed Places
- Isaiah 44 opens with "thus saith the Lord" — in the language of this message, "I said so": the Redeemer who formed you from the womb, who makes all things and stretches forth the heavens alone.
- He frustrates the tokens, signs, and omens of the liars, makes the diviners mad, and turns wise men backward — in essence, the enemy is stopped because He said so.
- He confirms the word of His servant: God is wanting His church to get their word in alignment with His word and to speak promises of faith themselves, not leaving all the claiming to the pulpit.
- He will raise up the decayed places — ruined lives, marriages, families, ministries, and relationships that look done and beyond recovery — and rebuild and restore them, because He said so.

Born of God Overcomes the World
- First John 5:4: "Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world" — he believes it not because he has studied out every word, but because God said so.
- The victory that overcomes the world is our faith, and faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
- He delivers it as a personal word to anyone struggling: you are going to overcome and be victorious — stop comparing yourself with somebody else.

Every Generation Covered
- In 1 John 2, John writes to the fathers — the experienced elders who have known Him for years: you have the right experience; don't doubt it now.
- To the younger generation he writes, "Ye have overcome the wicked one" — the preacher thanks God for young people in this church who were already praying before the service even started.
- There is no need to fear bringing a child into this world: "Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy" — the children are covered, because He said so.
- The altar opens for anyone to claim a promise of God that has lodged in their heart — healing, restoration, deliverance, the salvation of a son, a daughter, or a lost loved one — on one ground: "God, You said so."

isaiah 55 and verse beginning with verse 10 isaiah 55 he said it we believe it and he said it and it's done for as the rain comes down and the snow from heaven and returns not back but waters the earth makes it bring forth and bud that it may give seed to the sower and then bread for the eating so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth it shall not return unto me void but it shall accomplish it shall accomplish that which i please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto i send it or have sent it there's been a number of times in my life and perhaps in yours i heard that phrase because i said so i heard it more than once either a parental response or another authority response and it wasn't always negative sometimes it was good things and sometimes it was something negative that i had responded with but whenever they there came a question about a promise or about an instruction the rephrase the refrain was because i said so in other words the issue was settled no matter how much i or others questioned the voice of authority had spoken our good heavenly father has given us commandments
and promises and no matter who me you satan or anybody else questions those truths they remain true here's why because he said so and verse 11 said so in other words i'm saying so how do i know this god because i said so shall my word be that goes out of my mouth and that word has never died and that word is alive this morning and this may have been written thousands of years ago but because he said it because he said so it shall be done would you give a great praise to the lord for your inerrancy god and for your forever settled word that we can always have confidence in what you say and why you say it and what the end result will be of what you have said i trust you o lord i trust you lord i want us to pray again in a moment and here's what i'd like for us to focus on i'd like for us to focus on an uplifting or an acceleration of our trust in the word of god in other words would you let's work together i want to kick it up a notch and what i mean by that is our faith and our trust and i feel like there are certain levels of trust that we have reached but i see us reaching for and trying
to step up another dimension in faith i want us to agree together right now that we will trust the lord into the next dimension and with a greater zeal and a greater fervency and a deeper faith would you pray again now lord help me that's pray for yourself and you can pray for brothers and sisters but lord i pray that you would help me help me lord god increase my faith increase my faith oh lord and i pray that you would help my unbelief in any portion of your word i praise you now for that word and i pray that you would help us and let there be that acceleration and that increase in this very service today in jesus name amen and you may be seated the word of god has many enemies today and is being challenged on every hand the apostle said let god be true and every man a liar jesus said heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away why because he said so the word of god must be the final authority would you see say those two words final authority with me final authority the word of god must be the final authority in our life in our ministry in our church in his kingdom
we can trust the word of god i noted this wednesday night one of our pastors made this statement if you are going to survive if you're going to survive what is coming next in this world you better get it settled what you believe and that is very true there's no room for wavering today there's no room for vacillating today nobody can make that decision but you i know but it needs to be stated if we're going to survive what is coming we better get it settled what we believe the very faith of the faithful is under attack just recently a cnn commentator said both the constitution and the bible need to be amended satan's first recorded words in genesis reveal one of his greatest tools against the child of god as he questioned has god said has god said he spoke that to adam and eve but that's not the only time he's used that i've had him use that on me maybe you have had him use that on you has god said you can have your answer did god say he would do the impossible where is it did god say he was coming back where is he the bible says there will be scoffers in the last time but we're not going
to fall into the trap of scoffing or doubting when the devil says did god say it i'm going to speak back like jesus did and said it's written and it's true and when the enemy speaks to you hear me everybody i feel like we're sitting in the office and we're you're sitting on the couch or in the chair and i pull my chair around and we're just having a little confab together if god said it you can trust it it is written and if the enemy says or your own mind says did god say it just speak right back to him and say it is true because he said so god give us a restoration of faith in this apostolic church faith in the word of god here's what we know and i want a heavy amen on this only if you believe it the word of god never changes i'll take another one what was true in the word 2000 years ago is still true today because god said so he talks about the impact and influence of the word when he likens it to rain and snow in isaiah and 55 and verse 10.
he said they come down from the heaven the rain and the snow are effective they have an influence and they can be very powerful and he mentions because they came down from heaven what he's saying is they're powerful because of who they came from the all-powerful all-wise creator i don't have it all in my knowledge about how the rain forms or the snow farms and how the vapors ascend it's it's more complex than my mind has grasped there are people that have figured it out i just know that god figured it out first and he said i want this rain i want this snow to have thus and this effect the same way with this word he sends a message on an october sunday morning and he lets the reign of that word and the snow of that word settle down in your life and mine and he said i've got a purpose and i'm not going to question the message god gave me don't you question the message god gave me it's powerful because of who it came from no preacher needs to take any glory for anything that they give that helps to change a life it is powerful because of who it came from that's why the personality that's
in the pulpit should make no difference if they are giving the word of god any man or any woman as they give the word of the lord it's powerful because of who it came from and in that in those verses in verse 11 when god says so you know when god says so it will be fulfilled let's just slow down a moment if he said it's going to happen it's going to happen that is good preaching pastor bishop whoever you are if he said it can't it won't if he said no weapon formed against you somebody online no weapon formed against you because he said so if he said it's going to happen yeah thank you whoa if he said it can't happen the lid's on it it's in the trash and the enemy can speak all he wants because heaven and earth shall pass away but my word shall not pass away isaiah 46 and 10 watch this my counsel shall stand he said my counsel he declares the end from the beginning ancient times the things that are not yet done that's what tricks some people they're not they've not happened yet they've not come to pass yet but god said my counsel what i've said is gonna stand he said i've sworn it by myself
the word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return shall not return in other words god's saying i said it i'm not taking it back he's not taking any of this back when he said all flesh can get the holy ghost he knew what was going to be happening in 2021 all that sin that's around when he said they can be filled with my spirit he won't take that back and nobody can keep it back nobody can keep it from going forth and going forward and so in isaiah 55 and 11 he gives us the certainty of what it shall do he said so shall my word be that goes out of my mouth the word shall is important it's very it's used a whole lot but when you see that word shall in this verse let it speak to you there is no doubt i'm battling doubt right now you didn't purposely set it up i'm talking about the culture that we live in and it seeps into the church and it seeps into our mentality where there is some doubt about the miraculous answering power of god but he said so shall when god says shall there is no doubt that the word of god is going to make an impact the word of god is going to make
a difference it shall and then he goes on in that same verse to tell us what it shall not do it shall not return the rain and the snow that he's used as an analogy god was a good preacher he used some neat stuff he's got a little advantage on us you've got all wisdom and all knowledge but when the rain in the snow comes down it doesn't immediately deflect back it may rain hard enough to bounce off the hood of our vehicle but it doesn't deflect back up to heaven he said it it doesn't return the same way that it came the word of promise that is settled in this place today is not just going to go away it's not going to return in other words there is no canceling if and when i preach about healing this morning that's not going to return or get annulled or get cancelled god is a healer brother tim stand up just a minute brother tim brady he called me last night i love this he didn't tell me this story he referred to it last night when he was having all that back pain several years ago and he went out into the garage and he had one of these big charts that had the revelation of jesus christ
and all of the names and titles of jesus christ and he just went he was in such desperate pain he just went and he laid his hands on that chart and all of a sudden god came down in that room god healed his body and took away that pain so he's been suffering with excruciating pain throughout the last several days in his stomach area prayer meeting prayed for him and within about thursday or friday he had a battery of tests that went on but all of the pain has gone away there is power in that name we were singing about a while ago what i'm saying is the word of healing doesn't just deflect back up there is power in the word of god did he say it or not i am the lord that heals all i am the lord that heals all you may not have one sick cell in your body today but if you believe that i need an agreement in the holy ghost and if you are sick you need to believe god can heal it all whoa god can heal it all god's word got going to bounce off or get resisted are going to retreat whether it's a trial here miss somebody we're where the rubber meets the road this morning when we get the holy ghost
we don't i mean it's like heaven in our souls but it's like hell all around us a lot of times it happens things a trial but the word of god is not going to be resisted by your trial don't hold on by your emotions hold on by your word by his word our emotions they're good and god gave them to us but they'll only take us us to a certain point and sometimes it's the wrong point but if you're holding on to the word of god god you said it i believe it you said it and it's done it doesn't matter if it's a bondage it doesn't matter if it's an addiction it doesn't matter if it's a disease or a sickness no situation is powerful enough to deflect and resist the word of god and the way i know that this isn't some positive mental thinking i'm presenting i'm preaching what he said he said it so whoa i'd like for you to help me would you just read this verse with me i don't feel like i can preach this to its fullest but if i got some voice help right here and more than that if i've got some faith help out here would you read it so shout my oh wait a minute wait a minute that's wimpy come on come on
read it like you're preaching it anybody ever wanted to be a preacher this is you right now and there's a whole bunch of said i don't want any part of that stuff can't say that i blame you sometimes but we all believe the word of god i said we all believe the word of god come on preacher preach it so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth it shall not return unto me void but it shall accomplish that which i please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto i sin it thank you he said it won't return void in other words god's word gonna do something it's not gonna be empty i'm not worried about what's gonna happen in here today yeah i'm human i want good things to happen but if it's god's word it'll happen what needs to happen if we'll reach out in faith and mix the word that's preached like hebrews said with faith come on somebody come on mix it with faith it rained this week and it wasn't void what happened i went on on that deck it rained here's the revelation it was wet thank you for laughing at that it's fresh revelation i know in a few months when it snows hate to bring that
up for some of you you know things either get damp wet or white when the rain comes down and just after you wash your car well i could probably preach on that a little bit and get a few amens with that response right there he said rain and snow which are i just felt healing fall like a snowflake right rain and snow which are not nearly as powerful as the word that you read in the morning and the word that you believe and the word that you've heard preached in hundreds of thousands of sermons that word is more powerful than that rain and snow and so it's gonna have an effect somebody preach to yourself it's gonna have an effect that verse you read this week claim it that verse god spoke to you come on somebody i resist the enemy that verse god spoke to you in prayer if the rain and snow have an impact the word of god is going to have an impact it will not be void he said it will accomplish it'll accomplish what he created it accomplishes his word his word brought results at the very beginning at creation when things this this is going to be a description of somebody's situation right here
without form void the words empty are empty of purpose empty of answers empty of direction when the earth was without form and void and there was darkness there was darkness upon the face of the deep but god got to ordering and saying i want there to be firmament and i want there to be waters and he made the firmament verse seven and he divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters above and that last four word phrase and it was so when god says so when god says so it's right and we believe it because god said so and then earth and sea were created and god all he's using is that list two-letter word it was so poor hi lord millions of gallons of water millions of miles of earth and all it took was eso so god hear me everybody god is not struggling with what you are struggling with but he does know you are struggling that's why he said come to me all you that are weary and i know this is heavy on you but here's what he said he said i will give you rasta come unto me you that are weary and heavy laden take my yoke upon you you can read all the way down through genesis
1 sun moon and stars and it was so and we're still trying to figure out that universe and all god said was so so whoa god said so that's why there's pluto the planet that's why there's jupiter that's why there's science classes that some of us almost flunked because god said let it be so cattle beast of the earth let it be so he made man he gave him dominion he established the food provision and then he said and it was so our whole life is bundled up in a soul hallelujah you're not a so-and-so you're a soul fearfully i read it this morning wonderfully made fearfully he knows every blood vessel he knows every tick of the heart he knows all the intricacies of your hearing god is a healer and there's nothing too hard for him and there's salvation for everybody now it's essential for everybody we went down to visit in mississippi at the time becky's sister sheila and the twins were very young i don't know how old they were babe but they've always had something to say paul that means you if you ever view this message and so we get there and mom and dad are at work and others aren't working
so it's the twins that are home and i think there might have been an older sibling there but paul he's he's always been a little bit beyond his years and he wanted to be a host and he said uncle steve can i get you some milk i said no paul he said is that one of your church rules too well noah paul but john 3 5 is not one of our church rules it's god's rule it's god's command and we must never move off the essentiality of the holy ghost here's why not because we believed it for 86 years not because i'm glad they do but not because the united pentecostal church holds to that you and i better hold to it because god said so i know where i stand on this i know where he stands on this i know where he stands on this i know where the ministers of this gospel stand on this and they won't be behind this pulpit if they don't stand on that but here's why believe it here's why we've all got to get it in our heart not for how many years we believed it but because god said so verily verily i say unto you except a man be born of water if you want to be baptized today and you've never been baptized in
jesus name jesus said so you can have your sins remitted and the holy ghost experience is for everybody for the promises unto you and to your children and to all that are far off even as many as the lord our god shall call if you would happen to be watching this morning and you've never been baptized in jesus name you can experience that you need to experience that because god said so and you can be filled with the spirit because god said so hey we pray for people and there are some of us here thank the lord that have great medical knowledge but there's others of us that have very very limited faith very very limited knowledge of the medical realm but god healed when that person without the medical knowledge prayed for them so the same thing works for tongues you don't have to know how to speak a foreign language you let the spirit that does the work of the healing do the work of the speaking and you will speak with other tongues as the spirit you start praising god right now right where you are if you need the holy ghost or if you need a refilling you can out of those hey come on somebody
come on because god said so it's essential and it's promised and don't you doubt one bit you don't need to wonder if it is for you i want to settle that once and for all for anybody here anybody watching online it is for you somebody help me preach it is for you yeah it is for you you god meant it when he promised it it includes you and let me say this there is no gate as far as god's desire on this that you have to go through in other words nothing else has to be done on his part for you to receive the holy ghost i've had people innocently say i'll i'm ready when god is ready god is ready there is no other gate you have to go through you repent you yield to god oh my lord somebody is on the verge of speaking with other tongues right now you just start praising god right where you are and the spirit will give you the utterance because he said so matthew 13 and verse 40.
and therefore he's talking about the end of the age he's talking about the end of the world he's talking about judgment he said as therefore the tares are gathered this is this is this is frightening this is sobering the tares those that are not planted in god those that are not ready to meet god is what it is he said the tares are gathered and they are burned in the fire now god is that really true look at that word so shall it be so there's not a doubt don't let doubt creep into your mind about judgment day do not let doubt creep into your mind and tell you that you can go ahead and get by without obedience to the word of god so shall it be so shall it be he said as it was in the days of noah it's going to be that way in the days of the son of man there's drinking and eating and marrying wives and giving in marriage he said and then this is the flood came and destroyed them all oh come on come on pastor don't don't don't put this message on a negative tilt this isn't a negative tilt this is a positive word from god of warning he said so shall it be in the days when the son of man is
going to come i'm going to tell you be ready for that judgment day because everything we read from these parables and these gospels to every other judgment scripture is going to come to pass i preached that today to say be ready don't you wait another moment don't you let doubt push you out of this building without making your way to a word of prayer because god said it's going to happen and then i just finished preaching he wants to forgive you of your sin he is not willing that any should perish and i preach to the people of god god's on your side god has a god has a sow for you isaiah 44 it starts with the phrase thus saith the lord if you put it in the terminology of this message i said so god's saying i'm the redeemer i formed you listen somebody take this personally god formed you from the womb i'm the lord that makes all things i stretch the heavens alone spread abroad the earth by myself isn't it something we can believe that but sometimes we have trouble believing that we have purpose in our life in that earlier part of that verse that god formed us and purposed something for
our life now look at verse 25. he said because i said so i'm the one that frustrates the tokens the signs the omens the tricks of the liars he's talking about false prophets of that day he said i frustrate the tokens i make the diviners mad i turn wise men backward i make their knowledge foolish i do not know god did not reveal to me for every person what you are up against but in essence what that verse is saying is the enemy is stopped because he said so take that and apply that however you need to apply it right now the enemy is stopped because he said so and verse 26 that confirms the word of his servant you and i are his servant and he confirms here he talks about our word he performs and confirms our word when it is in alignment with his word somebody needs to speak a word of faith today that's in alignment alignment with the word of god yes take the word but god is wanting his church to get our word in alignment with his word and then claim and speak some promises i should not be the only one claiming promises here this morning but there needs to be a promise in the pew there needs
to be a claiming in your life there needs to be an acceptance god you said so he said i'm gonna say to jerusalem be inhabited in the cities of judah you shall be built and that last phrase i'm going to preach on that last phrase for just a couple of minutes and i will raise up the decayed place oh come on god it's decayed it's done that's over with there's no chance for that to happen but god the one who said so said i'm going to raise up the decayed places places that look like they are ruined lives marriages families ministries relationships that are ruined he said i'm going to rebuild it i'm going to restore it if you've got one of those things you need to claim the word of the lord and say god you said so it's going to be recovered because you said so first john chapter 5 and verse 4. i wish i could just come to every person and say this to you personally but would you please just translate a public declaration as a personal commitment and a personal word to you are you listening everybody listen here you are going to overcome and be victorious and my mind just went to the wilderness
where jesus was tempted and tested and the enemy showed up there if the enemy will come and bother jesus we know he's going to come and bother us the devil comes to church it's like it's like the enemy it's like the enemy just settled in when i spoke that word you're going to overcome and you're going to be victorious the reason i know that and the reason i say that and hear me everybody somebody is struggling you you can be saved you can be victorious here i just felt stop comparing yourself with somebody else start looking at this right here first john 5 and 4 for what so ever is born of god overcomes the world you believe that pastor yeah did you study all those words out nope some of them why do you believe that because he said so whatsoever is born of god overcomes the world and here's the victory that overcomes the world even our faith faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the word of god and so if you will believe oh with the the least amount of distraction would you stand together with me i know you got to get up you are going to overcome and be victorious the word of god
is going to do its work today because he said so john gets to writing and he writes to young children and he writes all different levels and groups of maturity in 1st john 2 he writes to the fathers he those experienced elders he said you've known him i want to say to the elders you've known him you've had this experience for years you've got the right experience don't doubt it now he the younger generation he says to them you have and you will overcome the wicked one he said so the mental image is you are standing on his neck i want to thank god for this next generation i talked to pastor about it this morning i thank god several of them are up close to the front typically there and many of them are today i thank god for the hunger pastor told me down at that hyphen retreat said they walked in the leaders walked in and it was before it was time to start and he said those young people were already praying he said it was like a wall he said john wrote it he said to those younger generation he said you have and you will overcome the wicked one because god said so god is not going to get

message preached or maybe just in your personal reading it is beautiful the people of god reading their bibles every day and god lifts something out to you any of those promises i'm opening this altar right now for anybody that wants to claim any of the promise of god or you just want to say to god you said so god you said so you said so about the salvation of my lost loved one you said so about the salvation of my son or daughter you said so about my family you said so what are you waiting on come on claim that promise of the lord yeah his word he said so he said so yes you're strong the word abides in you that's right claim it time claim it god we do not hesitate we do not hesitate to believe the same way the rain and the snow comes down your word is going to have its impact your word is going to it's beyond what we can figure out it's beyond what we can concoct it's beyond what we can drum up emotionally it's beyond all of that lord but it's not beyond your word your word is truth god you said it you're able to do it exceedingly and abundantly above whatever we have asked or thought
the reason that's true is because you said so god you said so ah ha if you need a healing claimant if you need a restoration claimant if you want to intercede for somebody touch that soul with a prayer yes god you are with us you are with us god there's deliverance there's deliverance the captives can be delivered because you said so the blind received their sight because you said so ando yeah believe for any kind of a deliverance for yourself or another it that's it ah there is boldness there is courage there is courage here it's not our own it comes as a result of the rain and the snow of his word ah it's settled on my soul it's settled in my mind yes yes yes let it settle in my home let it settle in my marriage let it settle in my family lord let that word that rain that stone now you can go to places i could never get to you can go to places that's it claim it right now
