Transcript of a published sermon by Bishop Stephen Willeford, transcribed from YouTube. An attributed primary source — not Acts 2:38 Life doctrine text.
Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Accepting and Expecting the Miraculous
- God has given authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you — physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
- God wants his people to develop a mindset of accepting the miraculous and expecting the miraculous, and wants the end-time church to operate in and with the supernatural.
- Sister Nona Freeman declared at a conference that the Lord wants to take the church from the dimension of exuberance to the dimension of power — demonstrations of his power alongside our exuberance.
- He recalls the testimony of Sister Lina Kronister, who was pronounced dead in a hospital, moved aside and covered with a sheet — but the sheet started moving as God and the church moved in prayer and power.
- Those testimonies should not stop being told: he still can raise the dead, and the same God is present today.
Answering Unbelief: The Rod Before Pharaoh
- One of the hindrances obstructing miracles is unbelief, displayed by doubt, skepticism, and cynicism.
- Pharaoh's demand, 'Show us a miracle,' was a dare and a challenge, not a desire to glorify God.
- The way to respond to unbelief is for the believer to just keep on believing: Moses and Aaron did not back up, but took action and cast down the rod as God directed.
- If we will do our part, God will do his part — they did so, and Aaron's rod swallowed up the rods of Pharaoh's servants.
- Miracles have been abused and misused by some, but God is not going to be outdone: there is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism, and a God who is higher than any other.
Scriptures: Exodus 7
God's Math: Opposition Multiplies the Answer
- God said he would harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply his signs — the greater Pharaoh's wrath, the greater God's math.
- When the enemy tries to stop or discourage one big request you have been asking for, keep asking: God has a greater counterattack, and his purpose stands behind even the answers we do not understand.
- When you come up against something immovable and have prayed without seeing the answer come, get ready — God is going to multiply.
Scriptures: Exodus 7
Jesus Marvels at Unbelief
- In Nazareth, Jesus marveled — in the negative sense — because of their unbelief; he was stunned by it in the very place where he had grown up.
- Matthew records that he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief: God can and will withhold the blessing of the miraculous where unbelief reigns.
- The preacher admits his own battle with unbelief and prays that God would never be stunned by the unbelief of this church or of the apostolic movement.
- It is one thing to want a miracle; it is another thing to believe for it — and God can do a miracle on any day of the week.
Scriptures: Mark 6; Matthew 13:58
Power, Not Fear: A Holy Courage
- Timidity and fear hold us back, but God's answer is his word: God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
- That fear is a servant spirit that bows before a master; instead God has given power to encounter foes, to face dangers, and to bear up — a holy courage, not a brash or prideful one.
- He sought instruction from Brother Michael Maguire, who told him: do it, and preach with confidence — confidence in God and in his word when God prompts you to act.
- He recalls Brother Haney telling him plainly that he was too fearful and too reluctant about the miraculous, and how that correction raised his faith and boldness.
- If you will receive the word, God will embolden you with Holy Ghost courage for whatever he prompts you to do.
Scriptures: 2 Timothy 1
Defying Skepticism and Ministering in Faith
- A clip is played from Brother Adam Hunley's missions-conference message, in which he called out the spirit of skepticism and unbelief in the miraculous and urged hearers facing impossible situations to take the next step in faith.
- The preacher concurs and defies the callousness that says a miracle cannot happen: what if his word is actually true — what if it does happen?
- The congregation is stirred to minister: these signs follow believers, so any believer has the right to lay hands on someone for healing — physically, emotionally, relationally, in any way.
- We have to do our part: the servants had to bring the water, and Peter had to step out of the boat; like the father who cried, 'Help my unbelief,' we bring those we have been praying for to God.
- The speaking in tongues in the service is itself a vocal demonstration of the power of God — we should not believe only in part of his power and doubt the rest.
Testimonies of Healing and the Call to Pray Again
- His wife testifies of her friend Debbie Wilt: from about age twelve, one of Debbie's legs was shorter than the other and her shoe was built up about two inches.
- At about sixteen, at North Carolina youth camp under Brother Orland Ray Foss's preaching, Debbie went through the prayer line with no visible difference — but at her older sister's urging she went back through a second time, and her leg was lengthened; she stood straight and did not limp anymore.
- God is still the same 57 years later, and somebody may need a second route through the line — do not stop short of the Lord.
- Sister Sarah Dennis's hand was withered and crippled for six weeks, until Brother Jav Maguire, moved by the Spirit, walked across the sanctuary, told her God was going to heal her, and prayed — and her hand was healed.
- As Brother T. W. W. Barnes preached in 1986, the miracle power is in the word, the seed: the power is in your belief in the word of God, whatever the size of the problem; you do your part and God will do his.
- Elijah prayed earnestly and then prayed again, so the service closes with an invitation to pray again for the miracle you need — combining faith with those who lift their hands — trusting God to heal bodies, provide, mend families, lift oppression, and help our unbelief.
Scripture index: Exodus 7; Mark 6; Matthew 13:58; 2 Timothy 1.
You are exercising this gift of God. He said, "I'm going to give you authority over that word is key over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you." And by the way, that word hurt you did not just mean we could apply it to physical. Physically, yes, that applies certainly there, but he was meaning more than that. emotionally, spiritually, in any other way. I give you power over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall be by any means hurt you.
God wants us to have and develop a mindset of accepting the miraculous and expecting the miraculous. I accept it God and I want to expect it God that you will perform by your power and the power that you have given through us. God wants us, I want to stand flatfooted right now and say about this end time church, about APC, God wants us to operate in and operate with the supernatural. A precious missionary elder who has gone on to her great reward, Sister Nona Freeman made a statement in a conference.
God moved on her. She told that conference she felt she had a word from the Lord and this was it. The Lord wants to take the church from the dimension of exuberance to the dimension of power. He wants us to also experience demonstrations of his power and his hand. because I believe in God and because I believe in that precious elder. I receive that today again in Jesus name. I thank God for our exuberance. We were displaying it a while ago. God doesn't want us to move beyond that and leave that setting on a shelf somewhere.
But he does want us to operate in a dimension of power. He wants there to be some action with our exuberance. And I'm talking about Holy Ghost action now. He don't mind if we act and we are exuberant and we act like we are exuberant. But God wants to take us to that dimension of power. Oh, I'm hungry for that power to work today. I remember as a young person growing up in this church hearing the testimony of a lady by the name of Sister Lina Kronister part of Sister Ginger's family sister Kronister brother Brady also sister Kronister her condition her health condition was so poor and in the hospital they pronounced her and announced her as dead.
And they moved her to the aisle of the hospital and covered her with a sheet. Beth, I'm glad I heard these testimonies. >> DON'T STOP TELLING IT. >> DON'T STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. I don't know. It was It was before we started attending APC, which was 1965. So, you do the math. I can't do it right now. I'm preaching, but I have trouble in other times too. But that sheet started moving because God started moving because the church started moving into that dimension OF PRAYER AND POWER.
HE STILL CAN RAISE THE DEAD. WOO. I PERSONALLY, IF I NEVER KNEW ANYBODY that God raised from THE DEAD, I'D STILL BELIEVE IT. BUT I JUST WANT TO SAY PERSONALLY, I'M GLAD I KNEW SOMEBODY. I WATCHED HER WORSHIP AND PRAISE GOD IN THE YEARS FOLLOWING. THAT SAME GOD IS IN THIS ROOM AND IN OUR LIVES TODAY. One of the hindrances obstructing miracles of course is unbelief. that can be displayed by doubt and se skepticism and cynicism in the book of Exodus when Moses was before Pharaoh even before that the Lord spoke in Exodus 7 and verse 8 the Lord spoke unto Moses and said unto Aaron saying verse 9 when Pharaoh shall speak unto you saying show us a miracle It wasn't necessarily because he wanted to see and glorify God.
It was a dare. It was a challenge. It was it was doubt. Show a miracle for you. And then you shall say to Aaron, start taking action. Take your ride rod, cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. And it did. I just want to say I learned something reading this verse again in preparation. The way to respond to unbelief, doubt, and skepticism is for the believer to just keep on believing. >> PHARAOH TRIED TO SMACK MOSES AND Aaron in the face with doubt and skepticism.
Show us a miracle. Do a miracle today, God. If you really want me to believe you, YOU SHOW SOMETHING TODAY ON THIS SUNDAY. But that didn't back up the believer one bit. Don't let anything back you up from the miraculous. HEAR ME, SOMEBODY. DON'T LET ANYTHING BACK YOU UP FROM BELIEVING and praying for the miraculous. MOSES JUST KEPT ON believing and he didn't stop. Oh, they don't believe. So, I guess I'll stop praying. And oh, we we've got we've got a bunch of people here that believe, but maybe there's some that don't believe.
Maybe we ought not preach this message. Maybe we ought not pray these prayers. Don't stop. TAKE ACTION AND KEEP PRAYING for it. And when you're PRAYING FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE, REMEMBER WE JUST SUNG IT, HE CAN DO IT. WHEN YOU'RE PRAYING FOR SOMETHING TO BREAK THAT IS UNBREAKABLE, KEEP PRAYING. KEEP BELIEVING. KEEP TRUSTING THE MIRACLE WORKER. I'M TELLING YOU, THIS THING WORKS. UH THIS GOD WE SERVE WORKSHE 10 says when they got to Pharaoh, this was God prompting them and preparing them in verse 9. And when they got there, they did so.
I want a did so spirit. They did so. They just did what the Bible said. Not them, us. They didn't have all the Bible. And by the way, that that convicts me. They didn't have as much evidence as I have today. They didn't have as much evidence AS YOU AND I HAVE TODAY. But they went on believing. They took that rod. They put IT ON THE GROUND. AND GOD DID THE REST OF THE WORK. If we'll do our part, God will do his part. I DOUBT HE'S GOING TO MOVE, PICK SOMEBODY UP OUT OF YOUR PEW, CAUSE YOU TO COME DOWN TO THIS ALTAR OR WHEREVER AND STAND FOR PRAYER.
HE'S not going to do that today. >> He could. He could. HE'S NOT GOING TO DO THAT TODAY. HE SAID, "I WANT YOU TO THROW DOWN THE ROD. You step out and God will do the work and do the rest of what we need. Perform the miraculous. Verse 12, they cast down every man his rod. They became serpents. Pharaoh's servants did. But Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. I know that miracles have been abused and misused by people even so-called preachers to gain glory. But just because there is another kind supposedly miracle and that was miraculous when they threw their RODS AND STAFFS DOWN FOR THEM to become serpents.
But the book says Aaron's ROD SWALLOWED up their rods. That just TELLS ME OUR GOD IS NOT GOING TO BE OUTDONE. He's the highest and he's the greatest. AND JUST BECAUSE SOME OTHER GOD CAN DO SOMETHING, there is ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, AND ONE BAPTISM. THERE IS A GOD THAT IS HIGHER. WOO! HE'S IN THIS ROOM. YOU'RE FEELING HIS PRESENCE. YOU'RE PRAISING HIM. THE GOD THAT IS HIGHER AND ABOVE ANY OTHER. Exodus 7 and3. I think God has a sense of humor. I know he does.
He made all of us. Chapter 7:3. God says, "I'll harden Pharaoh's heart. God, make this a little easier. I want to preach to soft hearts. I want to have a congregation that wants that wants these things." God said, "Okay, I got a purpose. I'll harden Pharaoh's heart and I will multiply. The greater Pharaoh's wrath, the greater God's math. You try to stop one and God's going to multiply it. Devil tries to discourage you about one big request that you've been asking. You just keep asking because God said his heart's hardened right now.
I don't know what's all behind the answers that God gives us, especially the no answers. I just know his purpose is there. He said, "I'm gonna multiply." Speaking of math, that was one of my favorite math situations. I almost called it a problem, but it wasn't a problem to me. I love multiplication. 6* 6 is 36. 6* 7 is 42. 1* 1. I love I love our math, but I'm going to tell you, I love God's math and I've seen him do it. WHEN WE COME UP AGAINST SOMETHING IMMOVABLE AND YOU'VE PRAYED AND THE ANSWER HASN'T COME, GET READY.
>> OH, I I felt some doubt. Not from you, from my own heart. You going to say that, Steve? You going to say that, Bishop? YOU GOING TO SAY THAT? YES, I AM. When When the ENEMY TRIES TO STOP, HE'S GOING TO MULTIPLY THE ANSWER THAT YOU HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR. WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT RIGHT NOW? WOULD YOU ACCEPT THAT RIGHT NOW? GOD'S GOING TO MULTIPLY. COME ON. YOU GOT SOME REQUESTS. I KNOW WE DO. GOD'S GOING TO MULTIPLY. We don't like the attack, but God's got a greater counterattack.
This doubt thing you read in the scripture. Here's here's how Jesus responded to it. This happened in Nazareth. Mark 6. And he marveled. Now, there's a positive side to marvel. We've been doing that in this service. I'm stunned. I'm amazed. I'm aruck. I'm in wonder. I admire the power of God. But in this case, it's the flip side. It's the negative side of that word marveled. He marveled because of their unbelief. And I just I just want to give a little personal admission. There's been too many days in fact in preparation for this message and even right now I am battling with my own not yours with my own unbelief.
I don't want Jesus marveling. You mean after he's been brought up in this thing? You mean after he has witnessed the power of God? You mean after there's situations that he has not seen an answer to? He would doubt me. He marveled. In fact, you can say it this way. Jesus was stunned by their unbelief. I want to ask us a very pointed question today. What's Jesus response to your response to his word today? Is he shaking his head saying that stuns me that disappoints me?
Oh god. First of all, I don't want to disappoint him. And then if there's a miracle work that is happening and wants to happen, God wants to do it. And I don't want to be the hindrance to it. His response to unbelief was bewilderment and stunned. God, I pray to you right now that as far as APC is concerned and even the whole apostolic movement, I do not want you to be stunned by the unbelief of a Sunday morning service or for that matter any service and for that matter any day.
God can do a MIRACLE AT MIDNIGHT. GOD CAN DO A MIRACLE ON MONDAY, TUESDAY AND YOU NAME. DO YOU BELIEVE THAT? OH, GOD. I'D RATHER HIM BE STUNNED AND SAYING, "YEAH, THEY DO BELIEVE WHAT I SAID." And here's another response. And I believe we must be very cautious about this. And by the way, this was happening in Nazareth, a place where Jesus had grown up, a place that they were all familiar with, their hometown. This is our home church. And we've seen so many blessings of God.
But here's what Matthew 13:58 said. And he did not mighty many mighty works there because of their unbelief. God can and will according to this withhold the blessing of the miraculous. It's one thing to want it. It's another thing to believe it. Huh? And I also again speak from personal experience. It's timidity and fear that holds us back. But here's God's answer to timidness and fear. Second Timothy chapter 1 and verse 7. For God has not given us the spirit of fear. Thank you AVM for having that up there.
I if you do believe that or want to believe that even greater. I want you to read that verse of scripture with me if you would. Let's go. For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. God has not given us that spirit. And we could even personalize that. God has not given me. You don't have to do it out loud. If you want to, you can, but just within yourself. God, this word is right and real and it's personal.
And it's good to teach from. It's good to preach from like we're doing today. But God meant it for every one of us. And that's why we can take it and say, "God has not given me the spirit of fear." That word fear there comes from a word that refers to a servant or a slave that has to bow before its master. In this case, unbelief. Say, "I bow. I'm timid. I I will serve you. I'll do whatever you want me to do." unbelief and fear.
I'll do whatever you But he has not given us that spirit. But he has given us power. Hallelujah. Power to encounter foes. POWER TO FACE DANGERS. POWER TO BEAR UP. HALLELUJAH. I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN BEAR UP ANYMORE, BUT GOD'S POWER CAN HELP YOU TO BEAR UP. He was telling Timothy and us that the nature of this word is to inspire our minds and our hearts with a holy courage. A holy courage. Not a brash or prideful courage, but a holy ghost courage. The next time you obey God, which may be in this service, and somebody's already feeling something that probably God wants you to do, or anytime else, you just need to say, "GOD, I WANT A HOLY COURAGE.
I'm not My GOAL IS NOT TO DISPROVE the devil, but the works of God will do that." Yeah. Doubt and fear. gonna tell on you, Rick. So he said, "While you're preaching that," he said, "you just you just think and imagine the devil back there just coming in the doors and laughing at what you're saying." Now, if that don't fire a preacher up and maybe he is laughing today, his physical presence is not in this building. But laugh, who wants to laugh? I say because God has not given me nor you the spirit of fear TO BOW TO DOUBT AND SKEPTICISM AND CYNICISM AND COMMENTS.
UH BUT HE HAS GIVEN us a spirit of power to have victory and be in triumph. If you will receive his word this morning, God is going to let me slow down. I don't want to just read a line in the notes. I want to believe what I'm saying. I'm slowing down here just a moment. Just one sentence. I'll speed back up. If you'll receive the word this morning, the word you read earlier this week, the word you heard preached a year ago, somebody heard a message that prompted you to act.
God's beckoning you again today. If you will receive the word this morning, God is going to embolden you with a holy, holy ghost courage. And that kind of courage is not smartelic. That kind of courage is not prideful. That kind of courage is not seeking self glory. And I just want to say today and maybe I I know this message is for me. Let me just stop here and say this. Say it in the best way. I'm a little bit out of my lane today. In fact, I called Michael Magcguire yesterday because he has such a gift of faith.
I said, "Michael, here's what I'm preaching about tomorrow. I want you to instruct me. I want you to help me." And he said, "Bishop," he right away gave me two things. He said, "Do it. Preach with confidence." And you can have confidence in him. You can have confidence in this right here. WHEN GOD PROMPTS YOU TO DO SOMETHING TODAY, THAT'S JUST NOT YOU. THAT'S YOUR CONFIDENCE IN GOD AND IN HIS WORD. WOO. RUN ON, BROTHER JOHN. RUN ON. >> HALLELUJAH. Praise God. >> John. John, come back by here.
Come here. >> Hallelujah. Got you. Run a little bit. >> We always do a fist bump, but I stuck my hand out. He gave me a Bible bump. That's what WE NEED TO BE DOING WHEN WE DO THIS. THEY'RE SAYING, "I'M WITH YOU. I AGREE. I WANT TO SAY HELLO." WE NEED SOME BIBLE BUMPS. WE NEED SOME WORD BUMPS. I believe it. THAT'S WHAT WE WERE SINGING A WHILE AGO. I BELIEVE. I BELIEVE. I believe. Woo. >> >> Brother Haney was preaching for us one day several years ago when he was general superintendent and he said, "Brother Willifford," he was trying to help for the growth of the church.
He said, 'You're too fearful and too reluctant. And inside the wheels are flowing and my legs felt like spaghetti. I love that man. I love his legacy and I believe in him. And that day he was telling the truth. I needed somebody to get in my face and say, "You're too timid about this thing. You're a bit too reluctant." Thank you, pastor, for moving us forward with a courage and a boldness. And brother Haney and God straightened me out and I tried to get bolder and I my faith level went up and rose.
That's where I've been before. Too timid. And I know one thing. I've got a lot of people in that boat. And if it's not you, you can say that's not me. >> But don't fib. Too held back. Too reluctant. What if it doesn't happen? Here's a question to pose that. What if it does? I don't want to BE IN THE WAY OF SOMEBODY'S MIRACLE. AND IF GOD WANTS ME TO LAY A HAND ON SOMEBODY, IF GOD WANTS TO FILL SOMEBODY WITH THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST RIGHT IN THOSE PEWS RIGHT NOW, AND THAT'S THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL, BY THE WAY, I'M GOING TO TELL YOU, THIS SERMON will cease FOR THE MOMENT UNTIL GOD COMPLETELY FILLS YOU WITH HIS SPIRIT.
IN FACT, IF YOU NEED THE HOLY GHOST, YOU NEED TO JUST LIFT UP YOUR hands and lift up your voice and allow God to speak through you. AND IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE HOLY GHOST, GO AHEAD AND GET A RENEWING AND A REFILLING. GO AHEAD. GOD SEES YOUR HUNGER. GOD SEES your belief. Hallelujah. Brother Adam Hunley was here with us for missions conference back in February and near the latter part of his message, the spirit of God emboldened him and he began to address. In fact, folks, he called us out.
He said, "I sense that spirit of skepticism and unbelief in the miraculous." In fact, I I just want us to hear that clip again. I am speaking to people who are facing impossible situations in this room and you have heard what I've just said and you've thought how in the world can I do what I feel like the Lord has actually told me to do. I tell you in the Holy Ghost that if you will take the next step in faith, God will then show you what the next step is and the pathway he will lead you on will take you down a road like you could never imagine.
I speak to hard hearts in this room right now. I SPEAK TO PENTECOSTALS WHO HAVE HEARD MIRACLES PREACHED YOUR ENTIRE LIFE AND YOU HAVE BECOME CALLOUS TO SAY THAT IT CANNOT HAPPEN. I DEFY THAT ATTITUDE IN THE NAME OF JESUS. I'm sorry. >> I DEFY THE CALLOUSNESS OF PENTECOST THAT SAYS, "WELL, I HEARD THAT ONE BEFORE. I HEARD THAT PREACHED LONG TIME AGO AND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN." BUT WHAT IF HIS WORD IS ACTUALLY TRUE? WHAT IF GOD ACTUALLY LOVES YOU? WHAT IF miracle I concur with brother Hunley.
I concur with pastor. He didn't HAVE TO APOLOGIZE. HE WAS BEING KIND. I DEFY THAT. OH, I DEFY THAT SPIRIT. AND I LOOSE THE SPIRIT OF FREEDOM AND FAITH BY THE AUTHORITY OF YOUR WORD, LORD, AND BY THE POWER OF YOUR NAME. >> >> HALLELUJAH. HALLELUJAH. WOO. YOU NEED TO GO AHEAD AND DO WHATEVER GOD IS ACTIVATING YOU TO DO RIGHT NOW. >> YES. Thank you Jesus. >> Lord, thank you Jesus. Lord, you are a healer, Lord. He said, I want my healing right now.
Go ahead. Hallelujah. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Yes. We believe you Lord for the healing. HEALING TO THAT BACK IN THE NAME OF JESUS. In the name of Jesus, >> don't hesitate. That's right. Believe God for it. Hallelujah. Not only does a person who needs the activity, who needs the work, but the body of Christ body, that's us right now. We need to activate and obey God. Come on, somebody. Hallelujah. Yes. Yes. Oh, in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah. In the name of Jesus.
Hallelujah. I'm going to tell you, I started to say it doesn't matter who lays hands on somebody, but it does. THESE SIGNS SHALL FOLLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE. IF YOU'RE A BELIEVER, YOU'VE GOT A RIGHT TO LAY YOUR HAND ON SOMEBODY RIGHT NOW AND THEY CAN RECEIVE THEIR HEALING PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, RELATIONALLY, in any way. Amen. Amen. Amen. Would you join in prayer from the from the seats? Would you join in prayer from the chairs? Would you join in prayer? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. Why don't you lay your what if it does up above? What if it doesn't? It's your work, God. Come on. The servants had to bring water for the miracle of water into wine. We got to DO OUR PART. PETER HAD TO STEP OUT OF THE BOAT. WE MAY HAVE TO STEP OUT OF THE CHAIR ROW. WE MAY HAVE TO MOVE. That's it. Don't hesitate to obey the Holy Ghost. He's in charge of this service. God's in You're in charge. You're in charge, God. Whatever you want to do throughout this congregation.
Oh, ya. God can heal somebody back in the rows. God can heal somebody at the back of the building. God can heal you right up here. GOD CAN HEAL YOU RIGHT up here in the name of the Lord. In the name of the Lord. >> That's it. Pray with authority. That's it. Pray with power and force. Pray. I don't care how long it's been there. It doesn't matter how long Pharaoh had ruled. God said, "I'm going to let my people go. That's right. Don't miss your miracle today.
Don't miss your healing. That's right. That's right. >> Oh yes. Go ahead and pray. Go ahead and pray. Use your voice and pray out loud. Oh God, in the name of Jesus. Yes. You are God. You are a wonder worker. You are a wonder worker. Somebody be like the father. Help my unbelief. Help my unbelief. HERE'S MY BOY. HERE'S THE ONE I'VE BEEN PRAYING FOR. HELP MY UNBELIEF. Here's my brother. HERE'S MY SISTER. Here's my unsaved parents. Here's my family. You have authority. In other words, you have permission.
You have permission. You have permission. And if you've got a situation, that doesn't disqualify you from praying for somebody. IN FACT, GOD MAY GIVE YOU YOUR answer while you're praying for somebody else's answer. Hallelujah. Holy Oh yeah. I praise you God. I praise you God. I praise you God. I praise you with the determination. I praise you God. >> Yes. I have spoken to you today. I take up to take it up. Take that next step. Take up that Yes. >> Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Now, I'm going to tell you what that was right there.
That was a vocal demonstration of the power of God. The tongues, the vocal demonstration of the power of God. So God's saying, "I'm just going to I'm going to give you another, let's call it a hint." Or maybe, Brother Peter, another little shove. There's been times I felt the power of God, and I felt it today as though God was standing behind my back and had his hand out like this and had the palm of his hand on my back and he just pushed me forward.
He was pushing out of me the word of God. God just now has vocalized himself again. It was vocal when the word was going forth. It's vocalized again. Now we believe in messages in tongues and interpretation. So if I believe in that miracle, I'm not going to categorize God's power or his ability and say I believe in this part of your power, but I don't know about that part of your power. I believe in every part of that's it. Just tell God if you will, if you're willing to do it.
I I believe in all. That's it. That's it. God sees that. He hears what you're saying. He hears your heart as well. He sees that uplifted hand or that clapped hand, however it is. You want to give that testimony. I asked my wife yesterday. That's it. Shout on. I love those. Woo. In fact, we need some more. Woo. There we go. Hallelujah. Woo. Woo. Woo. Hallelujah. This train's revving up. Hallelujah. I asked her. I said, "Baby, you'd been brought up in church like a lot of us have.
Have you ever seen a miracle? And within seconds, she responded, >> "Yes, I have. I have a friend named Debbie Wilt. We were about 12 years old, and she was she had one leg that was shorter than the other leg, and her shoe had to be built up about two inches." That's all I'd ever known from Debbie. We were about 16 years old and we were at North Carolina youth camp and brother Orland Ray Foss was preaching and he had a prayer line on Thursday night.
Debbie got up and she went through that line and she came out on the other side and there was no difference. She went and sat down, was secretly, quietly praying, and her older sister came to her and she said, "Debbie, you need to go back through the line again." So Debbie got up and she went back and stood in line. She had brother boss pray for her again. But this time, we all saw the power of God move. And her leg was lengthened when she took off her shoes.
She was standing straight. She did not limp anymore. Thank you, Jesus. And God is still the same 57 years later. OH, THERE OUGHT TO BE A LOUDER CLAP AND SHOUT TO THE LORD FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. SOMEBODY MAY NEED A SECOND ROUTE THROUGH THE LINE. GO AHEAD AND DON'T STOP SHORT OF MY LORD. DON'T WITHHOLD YOUR WORSHIP EITHER. DON'T WITHHOLD YOUR WORSHIP. >> >> GO AHEAD, PRAY. THE UNBREAKABLE IS BEING BROKEN RIGHT NOW.
THE IMMOVABLE IS BEING MOVED RIGHT NOW. I'm just going to give you one more testimony and you just keep on praying and keep on worshiping and you don't have to wait for me to get done. Sister Sarah Dennis, who is now Hope Community, Brother Adam's wife. Her hand was withered or crippled, you could say. They thought maybe stroke. Doctors even pointed to severe migraine headaches. That condition lasted for six weeks in Sarah's life. Many of you are remembering this because it happened right here. As service progressed under the move of God, some doubt crept in.
There was a strong spirit of God. Of course, Sarah wanted her healing. By our own admissions, he said, "If someone prays for me, what if it doesn't happen? But what if it does?" Seated on this side of the building, right by where brother Mike Maguire is seated right now, was Jav Maguire. And something, no, I rephrase that, somebody spoke to him. Nobody in this room, well, God was in this room. The spirit spoke to him. Don't we get timid with this kind of thing? We get fearful.
We're trying to usurp something. We're not usurping nothing. We're using what God has already given to us. God moved on him. And I I remember seeing him. I remember seeing him walk. I did wonder where he was headed, but I could you could even feel the presence of God on him and I knew he was on a mission. And Sarah was seated over here about where the Ernsters seated or maybe a row or two back and Jav made his way around. And I don't know if he'd ever done anything like that or not before, brother and sister Magguire.
Didn't matter. God's waiting for the first time. God's waiting for somebody to react for the first time. And he goes across and prays. When he walked across that sanctuary moved by the Lord, he said, "Sarah, God's going to heal you." And he prayed for her. And he never claimed to be any kind of a faith preacher or healer, but he prayed for her. I want to show you what happened. There's the hand before. There's the hand after God's healing touch. That deserves big right there. And it can still happen today.
Hallelujah. Here's what we do sometimes. You know, I heard brother TWW Barnes preached this way back in 1986. He preached. He said, "The power of God and his miracle power is in the word, the seed." When we when we plant a tulip, let's say a little flower, we plant it, it grows, we enjoy it. Are the farmers when they put the seed for the corn in the ground. That's a little tolerant, right? There's different size of problems, but the power is in the seed. I want you to grow an oak tree.
That little, hey, car, that little seed. I want you to grow that. That's where we stop, man. You mean I'm supposed to do that? The power isn't in us. >> The power is in your belief in the word of God. And it doesn't matter how big the problem is, how horrible the marital situation is, how difficult. I'm going to tell you, God is able to supply money for the electric bill, the gas bill, the food bill. You do your part and God will do his. I said, you do your part and God will do his.
HALLELUJAH. OH, THAT MEN WOULD PRAISE THE LORD FOR THE WONDERFUL WORKS OF GOD. WOULD YOU GIVE HIM GLORY RIGHT NOW? I'd like us to pray at least one more prayer. James said Elijah was a man with a nature like ours. >> And he prayed earnestly that it would not rain. It didn't rain for three and a half years. But then he prayed again. And we know the story that he prayed multiple times and told his servant, "Hey, go look." And nothing was. Well, before the emo or after the emotion had died off, he prayed again.
And when Sister Willifer was telling that testimony, I felt inspired to have somebody who needs a miracle to pray again. I don't know what the Lord's going to do. I just have faith just like Elijah did that if the Lord said it, it's going to happen. If you'd like to pray again and you need a miracle, would you just lift your hand right now? You need a miracle. And would you go to prayer right now? Church family, look for someone who's got their hand lifted and go and combine your faith with theirs right now.
We're going to pray again. Oh God, WE JUST HAVE ENOUGH FAITH in your word that even if we didn't see it with the first prayer and even if we didn't see it with THE SECOND AND EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN PRAYING for years and decades that you are well aable. Oh, you are well aable, oh God. We have faith in the miraculous. We have faith in your word. And maybe it didn't happen the first time I was anointed. And maybe IT DIDN'T HAPPEN WHEN I had that verse of faith, but it can happen right now.
I'm going to pray again. And I'm going to pray again until it happens. Oh God. Oh, we believe, Lord. We believe right now in the mighty name of Jesus. And according to your word, Lord, we're trusting in you. We're trusting in you. And in your power, you're able to heal bodies right now. You're able to provide. You're able to mend families right now. You're able to lift oppression, Lord, off of people's minds. Even as we pray right now, change can be broken in hearts and lives and minds.
Oh, we express our faith in you. And if we're doubting and having unbelief, help our unbelief. And I pray you'd unlock a faith in us to truly believe that what your word has said, we're going to see it accomplished. Oh, we're going to see it fulfilled.
