Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Let the words of my mouth be acceptable — and God hears the attitude
- He reads his text, Psalm 19:14 — let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord — and preaches on this subject: that my words may be acceptable.
- In Numbers 12, Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses: hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? The statement was true, but it was spoken to diminish God's authority in Moses and to elevate themselves, and the Lord heard it.
- God hears not only the sounds and syllables but the attitude from which we speak; Miriam is struck with leprosy and separated from the camp — her speech isolated her.
- Jesus warns that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment; the idle word is the word spoken without intention, without restraint or consideration, and by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Scriptures: Psalm 19:14; Numbers 12; Matthew 12:36
The same land, and two reports
- God promises a good land, large and flowing with milk and honey, and comes to Moses on the backside of the desert in Exodus 3 to send him to a people in captivity; after ten wonders they are delivered and journey toward the promise.
- Twelve spies walk the same land for forty days and carry back the same fruit; all twelve saw the same cities and the same armies, but ten looked through eyes of doubt and declared a certain defeat while two believed.
- The majority followed the ten and desired to go back to Egypt; Caleb, with Joshua's support, urges the people to reconsider, and in Numbers 14:10 they sought to stone him: the kingdom advances by faith, not because you know how, but because you know who.
Scriptures: Exodus 3; Numbers 14:10
Conversation sets culture, and complaint builds idols
- Paul writes to Corinth of the four ways Israel failed God — they were idolatrous, they committed fornication, they tempted Christ, and they murmured — and warns, neither murmur ye as some of them murmured and were destroyed.
- In Numbers 13:30-32 Caleb rises in the crowd and calls the people to go up at once, for we are well able to overcome; the ten bring up an evil report of the land, and the word God calls evil means whispering — a whisper is enough to corrupt the culture and jeopardize the future.
- Complaint is not a response to your scenery but a response to your God, and it paves the road to idolatry: by Exodus 32 the complainers are worshiping a golden calf, the idol of my opinion against God, and only Moses' intercession turns away judgment.
Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 10; Numbers 13:30-32; Exodus 32
Another spirit — I am come for thy words
- Of Caleb in Numbers 14 the Bible says he had another spirit with him: he saw what the others saw, but he did not see it how they saw it, and he talked different — let us go up at once and possess the land.
- Your speech attracts spirits: in Daniel 10 the angel tells Daniel, I have come for thy words; words spoken into the atmosphere of a home draw what is not of God, and words of faith draw the help of God.
- Moses himself trespassed with his words at the rock, smiting when God said speak, and died in the wilderness for it: words are powerful, and they are spiritual.
Scriptures: Numbers 14; Daniel 10
One speech at the tower, one speech in the upper room
- In Genesis 11 the whole earth was of one language and of one speech, and of that proud city God himself said, now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do; the only way to stop the building was to confound their language and scatter them.
- What God did to men there, the enemy seeks to do to the church: if the people of God came into one mind and one speech, saying what the shepherd says and answering the preaching with yes and amen, nothing imagined would be restrained from them either.
- God reversed the scattering in Acts 2: of the five hundred invited, the one hundred and twenty who tarried were in one mind and one accord, one language and one speech, and the singularity of speech was restored to his people in the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Scriptures: Genesis 11; Acts 2
Praying in the Spirit, building up your most holy faith
- Jude said that when I pray in the Spirit I am building up my most holy faith; there is a time to pray with understanding, talking to God in English, and there is the simplicity and power of praying in the Spirit, stirring up the gift when the mind cannot find the words.
- Your words are a weapon in the Spirit: prayer is powerful, preaching is powerful, prophecy is powerful, singing is powerful, and the call is to reach for the breakthrough, the miracle, the help, and the answer.
- The published episode ends inside this altar ministry — its final words are 'this is God's house, we are God's people, these are God's hills' — and the summary closes where the capture does.

Amen, amen, amen. If you have a Bible, you can grab it now. I direct you to the book of Psalms, chapter number 19, and we'll read from verse number 14. As you're turning there, I want to say what an honor it is to be back with you this weekend. And I give high honor to Pastor Spillman and his wife. And don't you thank God for good leadership. More than their capability, it is their character that I have great respect for. And I honor them highly as somebody who travels and can be in several different churches across the nation every month. You meet a lot of people. And certainly there is no lack of capable people. But sometimes believe it or not, character can be a hard thing to find. And that's because I think our world has shifted in a manner that we celebrate talent
and not character. And I want you to know that God has given you a shepherd of upstanding character. And I'm grateful for their friendship, their leadership in this local assembly and the contribution they bring to the kingdom of God. Amen. Psalm 19 in verse 14, the Scripture says, Let the words of my mouth, the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength in my redeemer. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to him. And I want to preach to you today for a few minutes on this subject that my words may be acceptable, that my words may be acceptable. Let's pray together one more time. Lord Jesus, I thank you for these great people. I thank you for the gathering of people of like precious faith. I pray now that you would help our minds to be attentive, our hearts to be tender.
I pray, Lord, that the Spirit of God would speak to us as individuals, as families, as a church body. And I pray that the power of your spirit would bear witness and would minister to people here today. This is what we know, God, except you build the house, our labor is in vain. If your anointing does not help us, if the power of the Spirit of God does not work among us, all of this is for nothing. We have not come simply out of tradition. God, I've come with a hunger in my heart for you. I've come with expectation that you're going to talk to us. The power of your Holy Spirit is going to transform us and work among us. And so God, I ask you now in that mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ to do what only you can. In Jesus' name we pray, and everybody said, Amen.
Amen. God bless you. You may be seated today. That my words may be acceptable. In Numbers chapter 12, we are introduced to a story in which Miriam and Aaron speak against the prophet Moses over disagreement of a decision that he had made. They say these words, hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And to this the Bible would say the Lord heard it. Now the statement is factually true. God had spoken by them and God had spoken by Moses. But the fact is their words were spoken with an intention to diminish God's authority in Moses. It was spoken from the perspective and the desire of seeking to elevate themselves in the eyes of the people. I would tell us today motive matters. When the scripture says that the Lord heard it, it does not simply mean that God heard the audible sound of their voice
or the syllables of which they spoke. But he hears the attitude from which they speak. And if you're a mother, you're a father in this house today, you know of which I speak now. Because there is a vast difference between no and no. There is a vast difference between son, would you like some? And they say yes and yes, because it's not simply what we say, but it's how we say it. And God not only hears the words, the sounds and the syllables, but he hears the attitude from which they speak. And the way in which they speak against Moses ignites the indignation of God. And Miriam is struck with leprosy. And now she is unclean and she has separated herself from the community of the people. Hear it now, her speech isolated her. And it was not simply what she said, but it was how she said it.
I want you to hear me today because our words will be judged. And we will be judged by our words. Matthew 12 and 36. Jesus, I say unto you that every idle word that men shall speak will give an account thereof in the day of judgment. Verse 37, for by thy words thou shall be justified and by thy words thou shall be condemned. So our words will be judged and we will be judged by our words. The word idle in this verse means to be free from labor, to be lazy or to shun or neglect one's responsibility. The idle word is the word that is spoken without intention. It is the word that is spoken freely. It lacks restraint. There is no consideration or precision. It is the lazy mind, the careless spirit that speaks the idle word. And Jesus taught that that idle word will be judged.
And in that day of judgment, God will bring back from the record the idle words that you spoke. The things that you said and the attitude with which you said them. I preach to you today that it is imperative that we measure our words according to the counsel of Scripture and to the character of God. I've come to preach to you today that my words may be acceptable to him. The story of Israel through the narrative of the Old Testament is exciting at points and troubling at others. No doubt you are familiar with their journey from Exodus and some measure because God had promised them a land called Canaan. The Lord came to Moses on the backside of a desert in Exodus chapter 3 and said, Moses I got to tell you about this place I want to take my people. They're captives right now.
They're slaves right now. But I want you to know, Moses, I have a place for them. It's a good land. It's a large land. It flows with milk and honey. It has more than they could ever imagine. And after 10 sovereign acts of God, the wonders of God delivered them from Egyptian captivity. They begin their journey towards this land of promise. They would come to a place when Moses would appoint 12 leaders, one from every tribe. And he would commission them to enter into this land of Canaan for the purpose of spying out the land. For 40 days, they journey through this land seeing just what lies ahead. And they come back at the conclusion of 40 days bearing in their hands the evidence that everything God said was true. Grapes, pomegranates, figs. There is a united assessment and unwavering confirmation of what God had told the prophet Moses.
Yes, it's a great land. There's plenty of space. It flows with milk and honey. But amidst the ever so clear confirmation comes the clouded voice of faithless words and uncertainty that follow. The vast majority held a negative report in spite of the 10 wonders that brought them out of Egypt and God's faithful provision every day of their lives. And his promised victory of every step into their future, 10 of the 12 declare a certain defeat. They say, Moses, the people are strong and the cities are great and fortified with high and mighty walls. And I preach to you today this striking parallel because every man saw the same thing. It was not that the 10 saw something different than the two or that the two saw something different than the 10. All 12 spies walked the same steps, journeyed the same land, saw the same armies laid hold of the same cities.
How is it then that you can see the same thing but say something different? They saw the same reward. They ate of the same grapes. They tasted of the same honey. They carried the same fruit. But the fact is the 10 looked through eyes of doubt, lack in human resource. They might have been the majority. But when the majority speaks in neglect of God's faithfulness in God's word, the majority is in jeopardy. Unless you think that the intention of God and the fulfillment of God's objective in the world rests on the shoulders of the majority. My friends, you are sadly mistaken. God will do what he said he was going to do. And if the majority rises up in neglect of God, God will let the majority die in the wilderness. And he'll find the few that want to move into the future and lay hold of the promise.
I preach to us today that the eyes of God are moving on Harrison Hills Church. The eyes of God are moving through the hills of this county, looking for somebody that will come back and say, You know what? Yeah, I know there's some opposition. Yeah, I know there's some adversaries. Yeah, I know there's some uncertainties. But if God said he's going to do it, he's going to do it. I came here on assignment from the Holy Ghost because yesterday morning in a hotel room, God started talking to me about a spirit of unbelief that was bringing disunity to the church. And God said, you go tell those people that I'm measuring their words. And I know it's 2024. And sometimes our words are text messages. Our words are posts. Our words are spoken in living rooms and tables and driveways and in the car. As we go about our business, I'll preach to you today.
God is measuring your words in contradiction to the unbelief of the 10 stood to Joshua and Caleb. They believe they have seen they have observed the same reality. But yet they did not see the same thing. They saw the same city. They saw the same armies. But yet they did not see the same thing. Something in their heart burns at this negative report. How can this be? And Caleb, ironically, he of the tribe of Judah, meaning praise, the tribe entrusted with that messianic anointing until Jesus himself would come, rises with faith and courage and begins to encourage Israel. Hey, if we go up, we can possess the lamb. 10 opposing voices mattered not. He would not be influenced to the negative by the majority. And so it is that sometimes when people turn their mouths over to Satan and become spokespeople for unbelief, have nothing but negativity and criticism to contribute to the work of the kingdom.
Can I submit to you? The best thing you can do is just find somebody who will praise. Find somebody who will pay no attention to the negativity, who will not feed into the conversation of doubt and uncertainty. And we'll say, you know what? Yeah, there's some things I haven't figured out about the future. But this is what I know about the present. I am where I am because God has been faithful from the Exodus all the way to where I stand. And this is what I know. He'll be faithful from where I stand now until I get to where I need to be. So what am I going to do? I'm just going to praise God for his faithfulness. I'm just going to thank God for his goodness. I'm going to thank him for every blessing in my life. I'm going to thank him for every breakthrough in my life.
For every miracle I've seen. For every answered prayer. For every time he's helped me. For every time he's showed up. And I wish I could tell you that Israel turned towards the two. But the majority followed the ten. And in fact, Israel goes as far as to express their desire to go back to Egypt. Saying it would have been better if you left us there. But with the support of Joshua, Caleb urges the people to reconsider. Affirming, reminding them of all that God had done. He assured them in spite of your struggle to believe if we will just press forward. But his words were insufficient for their unbelief. And in Numbers 14 and 10 the Bible says they sought to stone him. I know it seems an unusual thing, but I've been around a little while and can I just tell you it's generally the people that are bold enough to proclaim what God says.
Courageous enough to advance in the absence of a perfect plan. You do understand this kingdom operates by faith. And sometimes an abundance of resources and a perfect plan is precisely what robs our faith. So it is in our limitation and our lack of understanding. God says I need you to advance not because you know how, but because you know who. I need you to move forward because you are persuaded that I will not fail you and that I walk with you. I caution us today that cynicism and pessimism often come disguised in honesty. Pastor, I'm just trying to be realistic. Yeah, I've heard those people before. Let me just tell you I'm glad I'm not a pastor right now. I'm just trying to be real. Well, when you're being real stands in neglect of what God has said he will do and who God has said he is.
Your real isn't very real. And Paul would write so many years later in 1 Corinthians 10 of the four ways in which Israel failed God. He said they were idolatrous, they committed fornication, they tempted Christ and they murmured. They failed in their worship, in their morality, in their patience and ultimately in their speech. And he would write to the church at Corinth and he would say neither murmur ye as some of them murmured. He was telling them don't let the attitude of a murmurer develop in your midst like it did for Israel because they were destroyed by the destroyer. He is speaking of the account in numbers 13 and 30 through 32. And of this record when the voices of negativity are spreading so aggressively through the assembly of the Lord's believers. The Bible said Caleb rises up and he's still the people. He makes his way through the crowd.
Please stop, stop. We cannot entertain this kind of conversation. And Moses and he says let us go up at once. In other words, there's no time for delay. We can't waver in this if God has brought us here. He will most certainly take us there. We are well able to overcome him. And I'm sure there was some well-meaning individual in the camp who said Caleb did you not see what we saw? Oh yeah, I saw the same thing you saw but I didn't see it how you saw it. What to you was an obstacle to me was an opportunity. What to you was not possible to me was possible. And of this the scripture would say they brought up an evil report of the land that they had searched. Words are powerful because conversation sets culture. Israel's lack of control of their own tongue and the missing intention that should have been present in their words
caused them to complain anywhere and everywhere about all things. They complained to Moses protesting about bitter water, hunger, and thirst. When God gave them food they found fault with it. Miriam's leprosy was a result of complaining about Moses' leadership. The people grumbled, we want a new leader. And so it's ironic to me that by the time you get to Exodus 32 and Moses is coming down off a mountain from meeting with God holding the law and the template, the pattern for which God is going to work in the world. You know what he finds? The complainers worshipping at a golden calf. How can this be? After all that God has done, showed you his glory, delivered you from captivity, brought you towards this land of promise, proven his faithfulness day after day after day and in the absence of Moses oversight for just a few weeks
you're going to turn around on God, turn your back on the truth and make a golden idol, worship at the base of this false image. You know why? Because complainers pave a road whose end is costly. Complaint lays the foundation. It paves the pathway to idolatry. Because your complaint tells God I'm not satisfied with what you've given me and I don't believe you're going to do what you said you were going to do. What began in complaint concluded in the worshiping of a golden calf because complaint builds idols. And more times than not, it is the idol of my opinion against God. The idol of my feeling against God. The idol of my time against God's time. The idol of how I think it should be against how God thinks it should be. The idol of what I want versus what Moses says and that complaint produces an idol and jeopardizes the future.
Had it not been for Moses' intercession and his crying out to God the Lord would have judged those people. The fact is, conversation sets the culture. The negativity, the unbelief, the voicing of uncertainty allow the ideas of the mind to perpetuate from one person to another from one home to another until the culture of the corporate assembly was overtaken by an attitude of complaint. I know what we say. I've been guilty of it. Well, if this changed, if my finances were different, if my car would stop breaking down, if my air conditioning could get fixed, if my boss would treat me better, if my spouse would do this, if my kids would do this, if pastor would do this, if they would do that. Hey, let me tell you something. Israel complained everywhere they were about everything they had because complaint is not a response to your scenery.
It is a response to your God. And their complaint was evidence to God that they did not learn to be content with the presence of the Lord. There was an unwillingness to feast on the goodness of God and as such they would find fault everywhere they went because the problem was not rooted in the food or the lack thereof. The issue was not the water or the lack thereof. The issue was their heart. And the danger of this is that speech is spiritual. As much as God used Moses in a profound way, God denied his entry into the Promised Land because the scripture says he trespassed against the Lord. He'd speak to the account at K-Barnia when God told him to speak to the rock but he smote it. The first time he got water from the rock, he smote it. But the second time God said speak to it
because that rock was a type of Christ and he was trying to show him the contrast of the old covenant and the new covenant. He was trying to get Moses to do something that would become a pattern to the people of God for the rest of time. He was trying to teach us that when you need something from God, you speak to me. But Moses' failure to understand the spiritual implication of his words, he smote that rock and God judged him for it. And as a result of his trespass against the Lord, he died in the wilderness, is buried on Mount Nebo, never entered into the land of promise. What are you saying? I'm saying that your words are powerful. And so it is that of this negative report God said it's evil. Evil? That's a strong word. God, I was just being real about what I saw.
But when you being real stands in neglect of what God has spoken. It's evil. And in fact, that word evil, evil in the Hebrew, it means whispering. There's a vast difference between whispering and shouting. A whisper is not enough to control a conversation. But in God's eyes, it was enough to corrupt it. I would never speak that negativity from the pulpit. Oh, I know. But when you talk about it driving home from church, the whisper is still enough to corrupt the culture and jeopardize the future. Oh, I would never propagate that negativity from the pulpit. I know. But when you type it in the privacy of your bedroom and you talk about it in the secrecy of your living room and you make way for negativity to perpetuate from one mind to another and one home from another and one heart to another. It may be a whisper.
It may only be heard by those in close proximity. But if you're not careful, that whisper that God calls evil is still enough to corrupt the corporate culture that would jeopardize the body and the assembly from moving into the future that God has spoken over your life. Why? Because your speech attracts spirits. That's why in Numbers 14, the Bible would say of Caleb, he had another spirit with him. What was that spirit? How did he get that spirit? I'll tell you how he got that spirit when he walked into the camp that day and heard all these unbelieving, faithless people saying there's no way that can happen. There's no way we can put brick on the building. There's no way we can pay for that. There's no way the church can grow. There's no way a miracle can happen. There's no way. There's no way.
There's no way. He said, stop it! Didn't you see what we saw? Yeah. I saw what you saw. But I didn't see it how you see it. That's why I'm talking different. So in spite of what you think and in spite of how you feel and in spite of what you said, this is what I've got to say. Let us go up at once and possess the land for we are well able. Into that God said, hey, if I can find somebody who thinks like that and talks like that, I'll give him another spirit. It's what happened to Daniel and Daniel 10 when he finds himself in a prison. And an angel shows up and you know what the angel tells him? He says, Daniel, I have come for thy words. Why? Because what you say attracts certain spirits to your life. Listen, let me tell you, I've been around a little while. This is why a lot of people struggle in
their marriage. It's why a lot of parents struggle in their parenting because you let a bunch of nonsense be communicated in the spiritual atmosphere of your home. You turn on the TV, you turn on music, you're scrolling on your phone, letting all kinds of words be uttered into the atmosphere. You wonder why there's tension in your marriage. You wonder why kids don't listen. You wonder why the world's rattling out of control. I'll tell you why. It's because we're allowing words to be spoken into the atmosphere of our lives that are attracting things that are not of God. My wife was counseling with the lady a few years ago who'd been through tragedy, tragedy, trauma, just awful things. And at the height of it all, her husband had an affair on her with her own mother. Yeah. Wicked stuff. Haley asked her one day, what was it that really caused you to... She stayed in church for a while after it happened,
but today she don't serve the Lord. She said, what was it that caused you to leave church? She said, you know, really? Really? What it was? It's when I started listening to country music. Yeah, I'll tell you why. Because you're listening to a bunch of garbage that glorifies drinking that's all about affairs and immorality and breaking up marriages and cheating on your spouse. She'd already survived an affair. She kept serving the Lord. But when she filled the atmosphere of her home and her mind and the confines of her heart with that garbage, she started attracting some spirits that seduced her right out of the church. I'm preaching to you today that your words are powerful. That's why I don't have much patience for people who say things like, well, we can't break that. We can't pay for that. We can't build that. God can't do this.
I don't know about that. Be quiet. What authority do you have to tell us to be quiet on the authority that for the last few thousand years, God has been proving his faithfulness to humanity. God has showed us his power. So how dare I speak anything in contradiction to the testimony of his faithfulness? Amal. And so I want it to be that my words are acceptable to him. In Genesis chapter 11, the Bible tells the account of the tower of battle. The scripture says the whole earth was of one language and of one speech. This means of one language, they speak a single language. And of one speech, they speak a single message. It comes to pass as they journeyed from the east that they found a plane in the land of Shinar and they dwelt there and they said one to another, go to let us make brick and burn them
thoroughly that they had brick for stone and slime for mortar. And they said, go, let us build us a city in a tower whose top may reach the heaven. Let us make us a name lest we be scattered abroad the face of the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city in a tower which the children of men had built it. The Lord said, behold, the people is one. And they have all one language and this they began to do and hear it verse six. Now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do. That's God's words. God came to a city of impure motives driven by pride and fueled by corruption. And of them he said, nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do. And so many words he said, they are unstoppable because their speech
is one. And so but God did verse seven. Let us go down and confound their language that they may not understand one another's speech. God understood the only way I can I can stop the construction. The only way I can stop the advance of this prideful kingdom is to confound their language if I can cause them to have the inability to communicate to dissolve the unity of message if I can somehow confound their ability to communicate one message, one unified thought that I can keep them from building. And so that's precisely what he did. And now the world is broken up and scattered this language here and this language here and this language here. And from that day until this day what God did to men, the enemy seeks to do to the church. Because if it was true of them how much more true would it be of you and I
who walk in the favor of God who live with the blessing of the Lord. If the Lord could say to them nothing that they imagined to do will be restrained from them how much more could that be said of your life in this church than nothing they imagined to do would be restrained from them except there not be one speech. If pastor rises to the pulpit and says we're going to see people porn again, God's going to heal the sick, God's going to do miracles, we're going to keep pressing forward. But you're driving home on Sunday afternoon. So that was a good message, yes. I remember last time he preached that and it doesn't seem like much has happened since then. Watch out! You know what it is? It's the enemy using your speech to keep the body from coming into the unity that is necessary for the will of God to be accomplished.
You know what God's looking for? God's looking for the people to come together in one mind in one accord. So when pastor gets up and says hey this is what we're going to do, you say yes! Amen! When pastor rises to this pulpit some Sunday in the not too distant future and says look I was in prayer this week and this is what the Holy Ghost spoke to me. This is the vision God's put in my spirit. This is what I believe God wants to do. You're not staggering in here unsure uncertain voice and your negativity entertaining unbelief in spite of what your carnal mind may think you muster up the strength to rise up on your feet and say yes! I believe it! Amen! When they say we're going to break the building you say yeah we're going to break the building and when someone says how are we going to pay for that? You say God's going to pay
for that today to preach unbelief out of somebody's mind and to preach that attitude of pessimistic thinking of you no better than they know. No! You better watch out because as he heard the words of Miriam he hears the words of you and it wasn't Moses that put her outside the camp it was her own words that put her outside the camp. I'm preaching to you today that your speech can separate you from what the Spirit of God is doing in the church. So what do you do? You have to muster up the strength and the faith you got to stir that gift within you to believe that God is going to do everything he said he was going to do and when pastor rises to declare when some elder in the church rises to declare what God is going to do what do you do?
You got to say yes? Amen? Yeah you do know it's all you have to know that's why the proverb said that you're not supposed to lean on your own understanding you don't have to have it all figured out. Help us Holy Ghost! It's entertaining the conversations rooted pessimism unbelief and cynicism that are keeping us from moving into the dimension of dominion that God has available to us so what do you do when the preacher says God's going to do miracles? You say I'll believe it! Listen I had one guy tell me one time well we were talking about preaching he said I don't just don't you know I don't think people need to respond to preaching I said well look I can't give you scripture and verse that tells you have to respond to preaching I can give you a few principles I can show you in Ezra where they stood when the word was read I could tell you how they
amen when the when the scripture was read and I can give you some principles I I think but this is what I can tell you no disrespect brother but you've been pastoring for 20 years several churches and not one of them has grown and I happen to have been in a few churches around America and this is just my observation the churches that are growing have people that are believing well how do you know they're believing oh you hear it because when pastor gets up in the pulpit and starts preaching about the restoration of families and prodigals coming home there's that single mother getting up under her pew saying yeah I believe it pastor you're speaking it under the inspiration of God and I believe it so I just want you to hear this preacher today if you want to die in the wilderness of unbelief that's up to you and your family but I've just
come to tell you God is going to work with the minority he's going to find the few that believe he'll work with the few that say amen he'll find the few that know he is able and who walk forward in the face of uncertainty so I came here on assignment today to try to get the good people of Harrison Hills church in to one speech I know we're already speaking one language but what I really need is us to have one speech I can feel the spirit of some of you right now you think well there's just preacher rhetoric oh is it is it is it because I happen to be a member of a church that got a 15 million dollar mortgage two years ago you know what we all want it now 1.7 million dollars oh yeah you do the math on that figure that out the bank can't
figure it out the bank has said never in the history of issuing loans construction loans and building loans have they ever seen it and you know what I like it when pastor gets up and tells the story how 24 and a half years ago when he was standing on the steps of the north campus he said we walked out and then I pointed across the street and I said one day we're gonna build a building right over there and there's gonna be 800 people and he said that church of 40 or 50 people you know those good meaning elders who just they've never seen anything different never seen anything big struggled to believe well pastor will never be able to buy that property listen if you've got something negative to say at least have the respect to just say it to yourself don't perpetuate negativity through the
body I've come to tell you today God is trying to do something and it could be said of Harrison Hills church wouldn't it be something if the Holy Ghost walked in here and said you know what I'm not going to restrain from you anything that you have imagined because you have come into unity and into agreement and you are a people of one speech what's that what's that look like what's that sound like it means that we're all saying what the shepherd saying when he says God said it this is what I see this is what God wants we rise up and say this is what I see this is what God wants this is what's going to happen I'm not looking for my words to be acceptable to the media to the banker or to anybody else I just want my words and the meditation of my heart to be acceptable to him come on lift up your hands
lift up your voice come on one speech one speech one speech hear me I know a man several years ago was in a meeting conference preachers preaching you know like we do preaching about revival he says I'm telling you there's a pastor in this meeting God wants to give you a hundred soul revival you know there's some people clap kind of stopped he said I'm telling you right now I feel the spirit of prophecy there's a pastor in this meeting who God wants to give a hundred soul revival to and he said just quiet he's kind of feeling frustrated he said well if I was that pastor I think I'd have acknowledged to God that I wanted it and about the time he made that statement a man stood up on the pew and started screaming it's me he said after to be honest I wasn't really sure if it was me or not but I just didn't want to miss the chance
and in the next six months they had well over I think it was like 115 or 120 people baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost speaking in other times I was on a church a few months ago there was a lady that back slid and terminally ill and God healed her and she came back to church two weeks after she prayed back through another tumor developed I was in a prayer meeting at the church on a Saturday night when I was leaving town the pastor asked me so you think she's going to be healed I said no I don't because like sucking the air out of the truck when I told him that I said she doesn't have the faith to be healed they were gathering around praying for her in that prayer meeting I said the disposition of her spirit before the Lord Jesus she just accepted it
while the scripture says as a man thinketh in his heart so is he you got to get your stink and thinking fixed so you can get your speech taken care of so God can show you his strength I think I already told you the story before my father had been in a coma 10 weeks doctor said there's nothing we can do vegetable no brain activity nothing and my grandmother refused to accept the report of the doctor they said look there's nothing more we can do we're going to make plans to to transition I mean this is 40 50 years ago whatever it was she said well if we can at least wait till next week I'd like to come on Sunday with my pastor one more time why because she refused to accept the negativity and speak the promises of God and the certainty of his character knowing the faithfulness of God in spite of how difficult
and fearful it felt and I'm here today because what doctor said couldn't happen happen because God did what no one else could do and so today's penny call Sunday we celebrate the outpouring of the spirit and you know what God did in Genesis 11 he reversed it in Acts 2 by scattering the people by the diversity of languages and Acts 2 he unified the people by the singularity of language you know he invited 500 people in a town called Bethany he said why don't you journey down there to Jerusalem and you stay there until you be a dude with power 500 got a personal invitation but only 120 were there when it happened why I don't know but I've got a feeling that somewhere on the journey to Bethany somebody probably started saying foolishness like this we'll just we'll see what happens and catch up later
or maybe there were some that made their way to Jerusalem they tarried in the upper room for a day or two or seven but somewhere they decided I'm tired I'm gonna go find myself some pizza suddenly but absent when it happened but the 120 there the scripture says in one mind and one accord one language and one speech God said okay what I had to start way back then I can fix right now by restoring the singularity of speech to my people and as such we have the gift of the baptism of the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in other tongues and you know the beauty of it I've heard Spanish people speaking other tongues I've heard people in the Pacific speaking other tongues I've heard people in Ukraine speaking other tongues I've seen black people speaking tongues white people speaking tongue Asian people speaking tongue
I don't care if you're rich or you're poor you're black or you're white what country you're from what language you speak none of that matters this is for whosoever will stand together with me at babble he said nothing will be restrained from them because they've got one speech and so it is of us if we can get in the flow of the Spirit and live in the reality of that Pentecostal power if we can walk by faith and not by sight if we can speak what the Spirit says and not what our eyes see it could be said of us nothing will be restrained from them pastor says well we're going to do this how are we going to do it God's going to do it if you can stop asking questions and start speaking faith would you lift your hands to the Lord would you just close your eyes and would you lift up your voice
come on that's it pray pray pray what are you doing you're praying that negativity out quit letting the devil whisper in your ear you don't have to entertain unbelief no no no no you don't have to fuel that negativity here's what we're going to do here in just a moment i'm going to invite us all out of our seat we're going to gather around this altar we're going to just take a few minutes and pray the scripture says that when you don't know what to pray the spirit itself prays make an intercession and of this experience of praying in the spirit of praying in tongues jude said that when when i pray in the spirit i'm building up my most holy faith this is why the elders used to say just pray through you're being do negative you're being carnal you're speaking out of your carnality
you're thinking in the confines of your logic go stir up the gift and can i just provoke you today to step into that penny costal power i think there's sometimes you've got to pray with understanding you you ought to develop a prayer life where you talk to god in english but can i tell you let us not lose the simplicity and the power of being a people that pray in the spirit because if we could ever get into the singularity and the oneness of that speech here's what you discover nothing will be restrained so when i don't know what to pray when i'm overwhelmed when i've got bills and i don't know the way out when i'm struggling in my mind's battling i'm in despair my family's struggling you know what i do i just pray my way into the presence of god and i begin speaking in other tongues as the spirit
gives me the utterance and as i'm doing that the spirit of god is building up my faith and when my faith is intact it is an avenue for the spirit of the lord to start working through my life thank you jesus so how about it let's step out of our seats would you just feel this altar today i'm telling you god could work a miracle in this house god could heal your mind heal your body he could fix your marriage he could bring your kids into the kingdom he could bless your finances i'm telling you today god has something to do in this house there's been a critical spirit in this place from the beginning of this service so let me just tell you that he is in the will of the lord because on wednesday night i was walking up that aisle i walked around and came and i began to say god i cut off the voice of division and i cut
off the voice of naysaying and i began to call out to the lord while walking around this building this man had no clue of what was prayed that night but he is in the holy ghost so if that critical spirit is questioning right now was a time for you to shut it off because what god is wanting to do in this place will impact you as long as you're receptive to it come on lift up your hands lift up your voice i take authority right now in the name of the lord jesus christ the voice of the accuser i silence you right now every spirit of accusation every spirit of deceit every spirit of sorcery i bind you in the name of the lord jesus christ i command you to loose your grip from the minds of the people come on that's it pray pray pray speak faith speak by the spirit come on that's it you gotta
open up your mouth and talk there's a time to meditate and there's a time to speak and now is a time to speak yes in the name of jesus you've got to speak him say i take authority over the atmosphere of my home i bind every attack of the enemy against my marriage and against my family i bind every attack of the enemy that's coming against my church in the name of jesus he told shana rabbi who ya la maha no rikane ala maha he ta da da da da da yata yana la maha he sata rako sata la maha come on not by might not by power but by my spirit sayeth the lord yata yana bo sata yarabaka come on there is gonna be revival there is gonna be increase there is gonna be miracles there will be new salvation there will be restoration
there will be blessing yes yes yes yeah yeah yeah come on come on come on your words are a weapon in the spirit your words are a weapon in the spirit your prayer is powerful preaching is powerful prophecy is powerful singing is powerful yes yes come on hunger for him reach for him right now reach for him right now yata yeh reach for him reach for him reach for your breakthrough reach for your miracle reach for your help reach for your answer come on that's it you're praying that thing out you're praying out of this building you're praying it out of your home you can pray it out of this county we take authority right now this is God's house we are God's people these are God's hills
