Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Fear Not — They That Be With Us Are More
- The preacher opens with a little girl in a singing contest who coined a word for her feelings: "ex-nervous" — excited and nervous at once — and says he has little scripture and few notes tonight, but a lot of God.
- He reads his text: the king of Israel is warned by the man of God and saved more than once, so the troubled king of Syria sends horses, chariots, and a great host by night to seize Elisha at Dothan.
- The servant rises early, sees the city surrounded, and cries, "Alas, my master, how shall we do?" Elisha answers, "Fear not — for they that be with us are more than they that be with them."
- Elisha prays, "Lord, open his eyes," and the young man sees the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
- In his opening prayer the preacher asks God to be a God of situation and circumstance in the house — the Prince of Peace — and says he wants God's anointing, not a manufactured move, talent, or ability.
Scriptures: 2 Kings 6:10-17
Messines Ridge — Three Years Under the Enemy's Stronghold
- He tells Brother Ben it is something funny that when they get together he always ends up talking about war, and turns to Messines Ridge, south of Ypres, captured by German forces in 1914.
- The ridge gave the German army a dominant position, and for years the allies suffered heavy casualties while the enemy held the stronghold; in 1917 they planned to break out.
- He applies it directly: some in the church have been doing, living, praying, and reading everything they are supposed to, yet feel the enemy has taken what belongs to them.
- He announces his title: "The Victory Not Seen."
The Tunnelers — The Forgotten Work Underneath
- Beyond the familiar picture of trenches and uniforms, he focuses on the tunnelers — forgotten because their work was not glamorous and could not be photographed.
- The tunnelers worked in a dark, dangerous, isolated place, carrying explosives underground, facing suffocation, a misstep, or the ground collapsing on them.
- He says some in the house feel exactly that — as if the world around them is collapsing — yet the tunnelers did the job nobody wanted to do for one reason: victory.
- For three years the armies had fought over the same ground in stalemate, losing soldiers, friends, and family day after day, and everything waited on the tunnelers reaching their location.
- He asks whether there are any tunnelers in the house — people willing to go through the deep, dark crevices, stand up, go the extra mile, and do whatever God asks.
The Sound of Freedom — Victory That Doesn't Sound Like Victory
- On June 7, 1917, the waiting ended with the detonation of over nineteen huge underground explosions beneath the German trenches, ripping holes in the defenses; around ten thousand German soldiers were never accounted for.
- The explosions were heard as far away as London, over 130 miles away — where it sounded like destruction, those at the battle knew it was victory for Britain.
- He illustrates with the houses built beside an air force base: the residents complained about the jet noise day and night, and the base answered with a sign on the fence — "This is the sound of freedom."
- So victory may not seem or sound like victory right now — it may come through a job loss or a family member dying — but somewhere in the future, he says, you will realize it was meant for your betterment and your victory.
Blessings Are Not Earned — Make the Proclamation, Then Start Digging
- From another preacher's story he draws a line: that father never tied Christmas gifts to being good all year, because then the gift would have been earned — and miracles and blessings, the preacher insists, are not earned.
- He proclaims there is something in the house to receive that no one worked for, prayed for, fasted for, or can buy — faith, he is persuaded, is all we need.
- He reaches for the example of Elijah pointing his finger and declaring it would not rain: a proclamation made under his anointing, believing God would fulfill it — and we, he says, can make a proclamation to the enemy the same way.
- But after thanking God in advance for what He is going to do, "we better start digging" — victory will take people willing to go beyond the mundane and the average.
- The tunneling started in 1916, a long time before the victory arrived; some have been praying for years for their sons and daughters, and he believes it is time for prodigals to come home.
Open Your Eyes — Faith Says What Emotion Cannot See
- The preacher confesses his own unseen fight: he has stood looking across the trenches at the devil, feeling stuck in a stalemate, not knowing how to fight the battle — and his answer is the text's: open your eyes; God's victory is in the house.
- He says the church has looked too long in carnality and in the flesh; if we would pray and look in the Spirit, we could see the host of heaven and hear God claim us as His children, with victory in reach.
- He draws the contrast plainly: emotion says, "I haven't seen it," but faith says, "Even though I can't see it, I know God is going to bless me" — and God does not need emotion to fulfill a promise or pour out a blessing.
- Faith speaks specifically: my family may not be in church, and every conversation seems to push them farther away, but one day my brother and my sister will come through those doors; my job situation may be struggling, but by faith something can change.
- From his own praying he reports the word he received: it will not be easy and there will be opposition to overcome — "You're just gonna have to trust me; I will go before you; my word will stand on its own."
You Don't See It Until It Detonates — The Altar Call
- He gathers the message: your job is simply to know there is a victory you have not seen yet — you don't see it until it detonates, until the explosion happens.
- He testifies personally: he had never dealt with anxiety in his life, but in the last year it has eaten at him, with the devil telling him he will not be worth anything or amount to anything.
- His response is defiance and a decision: "Devil, you can't have me no longer — I claim victory, because I'm gonna dig."
- He invites anyone who needs a miracle, a healing, or a move from God to come to the front without shame, step out, and dig — to go ahead and receive what God wants to do.
Scripture index: 2 Kings 6:10-17.
oh there was a little girl and she was in a singing contest and they asked her they said are you nervous she said i'm ex nervous they said ex nervous she said i'm excited and nervous so i'm ex nervous tonight i believe god's in this place do you i believe god's got something special i don't have a lot of scripture tonight and i don't have a lot of notes but i sure got a lot of god tonight i feel good
second kings chapter 6 verses 10 through 17 and the king of israel sent to the place which the man of god told him and warned him of and saved himself there not once nor twice therefore the heart of the king of syria was sword troubled for this thing and he called his servants and said unto them will ye not shoe me which of us is for the king of israel and one of his servants said none o lord o king but elisha the prophet that is in israel telleth the king of israel the words that thou speakest in thy bed chamber
and he said go inspire where he is that i may send and fetch him and it was told him saying behold he is in dothan therefore sent heather horses and chariots and great hosts and they came by night and could pass the city about
and when the servant of the man of god was risen early and gone forth behold a host can pass the city both with horses and chariots and his servant said unto him alas my master how shall we do and he answered fear not for they that be with us are more than they that be with them and elijah prayed and said lord i pray thee open his eyes that he may see and the lord opened his eyes to the young man and he saw and behold the mountain was full of horses of chariots of fire round about elijah
let's pray tonight god you're great lord you're powerful you're almighty you are the beginning and the end oh god i'm asking that you be a very specific god tonight that you be a god of situation a god of circumstance lord that you come down and be that prince of peace in this house lord i want you in this place i don't want a manufactured move of god i don't want talent nor ability but lord i want the anointing of god in this house lord in your precious and holy name amen and amen
i told brother ben before service i said it's something funny about when me and you get together when you lead i always talk about war i don't know why it just happened that way i guess god's got a good sense of humor but luckily this message been didn't steal still holding a grudge
it's called uh messines ridge it's located south of ypres and it was captured by the german forces in 1914. you see this ridge granted the german army a dominant position after years of suffering heavy casualties in silent in 1917 the allies planned to break out you see it makes this makes it kind of brush over like it was something quick that it was something simple but see it was three years that the enemy had dominated their lives their position their place of stronghold
the devil had taken everything from us just like in this scripture i don't know who i'm speaking to i feel like i've been on this kick here lately it's been faith blessings and miracle and tonight it's no different i preached the message not too long ago on a wednesday night and it's just basically said what more do you need to see well tonight i'm going to preach something a little different i wasn't real sure exactly on the title
but i believe tonight i'm going to preach the victory not seen the victory not seen i'm sure you may be wondering what are you talking about well i'm glad you asked tonight you see it says after years of suffering and it don't just say little things it says heavy casualties you know i believe there's some people in this church that's been doing everything they're supposed to do been living like they're supposed to been praying like they're supposed to been reading like they're supposed to but for some reason you feel like the enemy has taken what belongs to you
you see our mental image of the first world war is this it's a bunch of people in trenches and guns and people standing in uniforms but what i really want to talk about tonight is the tunnelers some of y'all may not even know what that is but see it's because the tunnelers were forgotten in this war they had a job that was not glamorous see they couldn't take pictures of these people because you can imagine they were tunneling underground you see they were in this dark place they were in this dangerous place a place of isolation a place of just loneliness in their own mind and own thoughts and you see
it was dangerous because they had to carry explosives through the tunnels you see they could have suffocation they could have a misstep they could have the ground around them just collapse on them and i know some of y'all are not carrying explosive but i believe there's some people in this house that feels like that just the world around them is collapsing on them i'm sure these people could relate
you see the tunnelers they had to do this thing that nobody wanted to do and why for victory they simply wanted victory and so to take this ridge would leave the allies in a better place to launch their physics tracks if i could speak offensive so on june 7 1917 a day just like any other a day where they've looked at the battlefield and nothing's changed they've looked over at the enemy and it's been a stalemate you see for three years they fought over this land for three years nothing had changed they looked at the battlefield they looked at the armies they continued to suffer they continued to lose their people beside them
i wonder how they could feel knowing that after day after day they would lose their soldiers day after day they would lose their friends they would lose their family oh i don't know if you understand what i'm preaching tonight but i'm preaching to somebody you see they had to wait on the tunnelers to get to the location i just want to know tonight do i have any tunnelers in the house do i have anybody that's willing to go through the deep dark crevices and say god i'm willing to fight god i'm willing to stand up i'm willing to go the extra mile i'm willing to do whatever you ask me to do
you see on that day in south belgium it began with detonation of over 19 huge underground explosions beneath the german trenches each one literally ripped a hole in the german defenses making it easier for the advances of the british to achieve their objectives every explosion was caused by an underground mine created by digging a tunnel and then filling it with explosives around 10 000 german soldiers were never accounted for after the battle and many of them were probably killed when the mines erupted
see the explosions were so loud they could not be they could not just be heard there but in london over 130 miles away uh it just come to my mind i haven't thought about it and i may not have the details right and so if i don't don't correct me wait till after service okay
so there was an air force base i believe in pensacola and it's been there for a long time but there was this land beside the air force base and this realtor decided hey i'm going to sell this land and so they built some nice houses and they put them up and of course you know they sold with the advertisement what a great location what a great place you know what more could you want well they talk these people into buying the houses without ever visiting the people got there and they got in their home and
it was great they were beautiful but they did not think about the noise you see they were sitting in their home they were trying to sleep at all hours of the night and all they could hear was just time after time they got angry because they done went to the bank they've done signed contracts they had done bought these houses and so them like anybody else said
they went up and they told them they said hey y'all are being too loud and as you can imagine the air force really didn't care i mean come on what do you expect a jet to get quieter so what they did the air force base did something that i thought was clever and funny those people come back out about a week later and they seen this sign on the fence in front of their house and it said this is the sound of freedom
and so here's what i've come to tell you tonight oh it sounded like destruction in london it sounded like devastation a hundred miles away oh but when they were there at that present time they knew that this was victory they knew after the fact in london that what happened 130 miles away was victory for britain and so what i'm here to tell you tonight is your victory may not seem like victory right now it may not sound like victory right now it may have been in a job loss it may have been in a family member dying it may have been in something else but
somewhere in the future you're going to realize oh this was meant for my betterment this was meant for my victory i don't know if anybody wants victory in the house tonight but i come on a mission for victory see i i do a lot of listening to preaching i love all kinds of preaching but uh
i had a preacher change my life the other day within 10 minutes 15 minutes of listening to him he absolutely changed my life he told a story about his dad he said my dad never told me that for chris if you're good all year you'll get good gifts on christmas i never thought about it he said do you know why he said because if he would have told me that brother tanner it would have been earned if he would have told me that if i was good all year long the gift would have been earned and i expected a response like that y'all ain't catching what i'm saying tonight
you see miracles are not earned blessings are not earned this doesn't sound like a bunch of people that want a miracle in the house this doesn't sound like a bunch of people that's been looking at the enemy across the way saying god i need a change in my situation god i need you to begin to move in my life i'm tired of being in the same situation brother ben i'm tired of dealing with the same job situations i'm tired of struggling with everything in everyday life
but i'm here to proclaim to somebody i'm feeling a little prophetic in the house that god wants to bless somebody does anybody in the house want to receive from god does anybody in the house want something from god
what i'm telling you tonight is there's something in the house tonight that you can receive something that you've not worked for something that you've not prayed for something that you've not fasted for something that you can't do on your own no amount of money can buy it but it's here if you want it i'm persuaded to believe that faith is all we need faith is all i need you know i i don't know if i'm reckless i hope i'm in the holy ghost tonight but you know
i wonder if there's somebody in this house that's got a little faith about like elijah when he pointed his finger out there and said it's not gonna rain we could see he made a proclamation under his anointing under his walk with god believing that if he would step out and make a proclamation to the enemy that god would fulfill it and that's what i believe tonight i believe that we can make a proclamation to the enemy but just like i said about digging i believe that once we leave this place we need to thank god for what he's going to do we need to thank god for the blessings that he's going to bestow
but then we better start digging we better start digging for victory you see because it's going to take some people that's going to go more than just the mundane more than just the average it's going to take some people that's going to dig do i have any tunnelers in the place you see because the scripture said hope in his eyes so that he could see the victory open his eyes you see i believe for so long and for so many people in the church we look out and we look in carnality we look in the flesh
but if we would just begin to open our eyes and begin to pray a little bit and begin to look in the spirit i believe that we could see a host of angels i believe that we could see god himself on the throne saying that's my child that's my child i said that's my child and victory is in reach i want you to understand
they started digging those tunnels in 1916. oh it was a long time before they ever got to the victory there's some people in this place that's been praying for years and years and years for their sons and their daughters i believe that it's time that prodigals can come home i believe it's time that the sinners can come into the house and receive what they need
i guess i'm talking to some perfect people y'all don't seem to have anything you're dealing with but i'm here to tell you tonight i've got some things that i need god to move in i've got some victory that i need that nobody's seen nobody knows about but i know about and i've been standing up looking across those trenches looking at that battlefield looking at that old devil thinking that all had been lost and i'm just stuck in a stalemate i don't know what's going on i can't figure out how to fight the battle
but i'm here to tell somebody open their eyes open your eyes open your eyes god's got the victory in this house tonight it sure is cold in here i just wonder is there anybody in this house let's pray some things probably forgot some things
i believe we're in a place where god can release some supernatural things i believe we're in a place where some say you can stand knee-deep in glory tonight and the thing about god is god doesn't need emotion to fulfill a promise god doesn't need emotion to pour out a blessing god doesn't need emotion to give you something that you've been seeking emotion is a human thing god does not use emotion to bless people emotion is something that's normally predicated on our prayer life it's normally predicated on our praying normally predicated on how we believe we should be but see emotion says god i haven't seen it when it's right here
but see faith says even though i can't see it god i know i know i said i know god that you're gonna bless me i know god that you're gonna pour out in my life i know god that my family isn't in church but lord you're gonna bring him in those stories i know that every time i talk to him it feels like i push him farther away but i know one day my brother and my sister are going to come through those doors that's what faith says tonight
faith says even though my job is not what i want even though my job situation is struggling i know that by faith through faith and the gospel of god that something can change i believe we're in a place where god can change some things tonight
you know i was praying and when i was praying lord told me it's not gonna be easy there's gonna be some opposition that you're gonna have to overcome and i said okay god give me the word he said no you're just gonna have to trust me i've already closed my ipad the only thing that i had was my scripture and that story and i said god i don't even know how to go i don't even know how to preach it he said that's okay i will go before you my word will stand on its own and my people will receive so i just want to know if you want to receive tonight i feel like i'm preaching the same message over but maybe somebody needs to understand there's a miracle that you can receive
i want the worship team to go ahead and get ready and just go ahead and plan on singing a song i'm throwing them under the bus here i don't care what you want to sing i believe god can move through whatever so my job was just simply to tell you there's a victory that you haven't seen yet we've looked across in the flesh too long we've just gave up on some promises gave up on some moves gave up on everything but i believe that god wants to do something do you believe that
why don't we just go ahead and stand up and clap our hands and just begin to praise god god i believe what you've got for us tonight god i know that you've got something for me oh god i want you to begin to move right now god i don't want anything i don't want just talent i don't want just the moving god but i want the pure anointing of god is there anybody that come in needing to touch is there anybody come in this place needing a healing i almost feel like i'm preaching another man's message he preached real similar to this sunday morning that i heard but i feel it in the holy ghost just go ahead and move in it
if you need a healing if you need a move from god if you need something don't be ashamed go ahead and come to the front why don't you praise him the whole point of it was you don't see it yet
you don't see it until it detonates you don't see it until the explosion happens i know that there's some things in my life that i don't tell any about there's some battles in my life that i struggle with you know there's something that's funny about it i've never dealt with anxiety before in my life ever absolutely ever but somewhere in the last year i i've been just eat up with anxiety eat up with just god just telling me that there's more for my life and the devil telling me jason you're not going to be worth anything jason you're not going to amount to anything
but you know what i'm going to do tonight i'm gonna step out and say devil you can't have me no longer devil i claim victory i claim victory you know why devil because i'm gonna dig i'm gonna dig tonight i'm gonna dig so if you want to dig if you need a miracle in this place why don't you just go ahead and receive it i believe god wants to move
