Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Open Hearts on a Night God Ordained

  • No one is at this Section 2 rally by happenstance — God ordains our steps and has something for every age tonight.
  • Open your heart and mind and surrender: if we let God speak, we will leave changed from when we walked in.
  • Every Move the Mission gift, whether twenty dollars or a thousand, sends the gospel around the world and supports district events, camps, and youth.
  • The speaker thanks the host church, its pastors, youth pastors and staff, and the Section 2 director for investing in students.
  • On his eleventh anniversary he introduces his family: his wife, his sons Rhett (eight) and Warren (four), and a baby girl on the way.
  • If we will respond to His word, God may birth new callings and speak specifically to lives tonight.

The Text: A Day of Good News

  • Elisha prophesies to the king of Israel: by this time tomorrow, choice flour and barley in Samaria's markets will cost only one piece of silver.
  • Everyone loves good news, but our world is oversaturated with bad headlines — a day of good news can feel few and far between.
  • In the days of the text, Israel's king did not serve the Lord, and seven years of severe drought and famine gripped the land.
  • The enemy king besieged Samaria, cutting off food supplies and all communication with the outside world.
  • Inside the walls, starvation became everyday life — yet Elisha prophesied overnight abundance at all-time-low prices, and the king had no faith to believe it.

Scriptures: 2 Kings 7; 2 Kings 7:1

Why Sit Here Until We Die?

  • Four men with leprosy lived outside the city gate — rejected by society and family, under a death sentence from their disease.
  • They reasoned together: we will starve if we stay, and we will starve in the city — so why not surrender to the enemy army? If they spare us we live; if they kill us, we would have died anyway.
  • Desperation drove them to act — they refused to sit in hopelessness and go down without a fight.
  • At night they mustered their courage and walked toward one of the most powerful armies of the time.

Scriptures: 2 Kings 7:3-4

The Miracle in the Empty Camp

  • The Lord caused the enemy army to hear the noise of chariots, horses, and a great army, and they fled at twilight, leaving their camp intact.
  • The lepers found tents still lit, meals still simmering over the fires, and horses and donkeys still tied — but not a single person.
  • They ate and drank, then took silver, gold, and clothes and hid them, going from tent to tent.
  • In an instant they went from having nothing to probably the wealthiest men in Israel — their last act of desperation led them to one of God's greatest miracles.

Scriptures: 2 Kings 7:6-7

What We're Doing Is Not Right

  • In the middle of the feast, conviction fell: 'What we're doing is not right. This is a day of good news, and we are keeping it to ourselves.'
  • They remembered the Scripture: give generously without a grudging heart, and the Lord will bless you in all your work.
  • If anyone had reasons to keep the blessing, it was these outcasts — but the provision was far beyond what they needed or could handle alone.
  • They began to think of the people inside the walls — the families and children dying every day without hope.
  • The miracle was never intended to be hoarded; it was given to fulfill the prophecy and give life to a city that was dying.

Scriptures: 2 Kings 7:9; Deuteronomy 15:10

Raised Up and Blessed — Not for Ourselves

  • We can relate to the lepers' suffering: family issues, anxiety about the future, and constant social pressure to compromise our apostolic identity.
  • Many of us once determined not to die at our gate, got up and did something — and because of that step, God moved on our behalf.
  • God is rich in mercy: though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life, raised us up with Christ, and seated us with Him in heavenly realms.
  • We hold the full revelation of truth, strong churches and sections, and godly leaders — we are surrounded by great abundance and have so much to be thankful for.
  • What God has done in our lives is ultimately for His glory — it happened so that the works of God might be displayed in us.

Scriptures: Ephesians 2:6-7; John 9:3

Chosen to Declare in Your Samaria

  • Your Samaria is where you do life — your school, your favorite restaurants and coffee shops, even the pickleball courts.
  • People there are trapped and spiritually starving: 31.9 million Americans aged twelve and older use illegal drugs, Missouri has the nation's second-highest murder rate, and about 130 suicides happen every day across the U.S.
  • We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, God's special possession — chosen not to hide it, but to declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
  • The Spirit of the Lord anoints us to proclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, and the year of the Lord's favor.
  • The commission still stands: go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey — and He is with us always, to the very end of the age.

Scriptures: 1 Peter 2:9; Luke 4:18-19; Matthew 28:19

Go at Once: Good News Shared Is a City Saved

  • The lepers did not wait for daylight or a perfect moment — they went at once, pounded on the city gates, and reported the good news to the royal palace.
  • The whole city rushed out to the camp, Elisha's prophecy came to pass, and what had been scarce became abundant — the starvation of Samaria was stopped.
  • Trey's story: living with no hope — drugs, poor decisions, depression, and thoughts of suicide — he came to church because someone in the youth group made a five-minute phone call to invite him.
  • When door greeter Brother Richard Wells welcomed him back by name on his return visit, Trey realized these people loved God and loved him.
  • Trey received the gift of the Holy Ghost, was baptized in Jesus' name, turned down a full-ride scholarship to follow God's will, and today pastors The Rock Church in Hiram, Georgia.
  • The next step is the lepers' step — take action now, not tomorrow: someone is waiting on us to share the good news, and God will give us the words.
  • The invitation is twofold: go and proclaim a day of good news — and if you have never experienced it, come receive the forgiveness, freedom, and new life Jesus offers tonight.

at the end but I want you just to put all that out and say God whatever you have to me for me whatever you want to speak into my life Lord I want that because I believe that we're going to leave this place with a renewed purpose and while I was praying before we came here I feel like God really spoke and said if they will respond and do what my word is saying that I'm going to speak to them maybe birth some new callings speak to you specifically saying that I want you to do this for me I want you to follow this calling and this leading for my life to make a difference in the Kingdom I believe that God wants to do that tonight so tonight

we're going to read for from Second Kings 7 and 1. I'm going to go through this story in Second Kings and it says this and the prophet Elisha is speaking to the king and he says this the king of Israel listen to this message from the Lord this is what the Lord says by this time tomorrow in the markets of Samaria six courts of choice flour will cost only one piece of silver and 12 quarts of barley grain will only cost one piece of silver so the help of the Lord tonight I want to speak to you on this thought a day of good news turn to somebody and say a day of good news amen and one more time before we go further will you just raise your

hands and pray that God would help me speak to you and that you would respond to his word Lord we love you we thank you so much God for what we feel what an amazing presence your spirit is here with us God and we know that when your spirit is here things change God we are changed in your presence and I pray God that you would God help your word help us God lord open our hearts and our minds to receive in Jesus name in Jesus name we give you all the glory and praise in Jesus name amen amen I'm also you may be seated I'm also see a lot of friends here from school and people I grew up with and when I was born here in St Louis I was raised

till I was seven moved to Atlanta and came back for college so it's been a large part of my life here in St Louis it was so great to see the very familiar faces here serving the lord so so there's no doubt that everyone in this room enjoys receiving good news from time to time kind of wave your hand how many you like to receive some good news if you take a moment to think back in your life we can all remember a time when we received maybe a word of good news maybe good news was this for you when you got your clothes out of the laundry reached down into your pocket and all of a sudden you pull out a crinkled but amazing twenty dollar

bill how many received that blessing of the past pulling into your pocket that's a day of good news pulling out some money or day of good news can look like this for you the weather forecast looks a little bad here in Missouri I know it snows and can have inclement weather and so it looks bad you pray and fast oh God please let the weather be bad and after you pray a fast you wake up in the morning and you hear the good news that school is canceled thank you Jesus for delivering Us in that moment for a day of good news good news is something or someone who is that is positive encouraging and uplifting and we've all had that person come

to us at some point or another and say so you want the good news or the bad news and I always think of myself who wants bad news like of course I want to hear the good news give me some good news and unfortunately we live in a time where a day of good news is few and far between it's hard to find a good a good a day of good news in the world that we live in news and social media Outlets constantly hit us with negative and depressing headlines most recent headlines if you looked in the news would say this nearly 400 still missing after Maui of wildfires New York Women pleads guilty after fatally shoving 87 year old Broadway coach plague

of flash mob robbery send please scrambling our world is filled with craziness always bad news inundating us here and there but countless headlines of bad news can be found in a matter of seconds if you open up social media or open up a news app it's constantly something negative something that's not up uplifting our world is oversaturated with negativity this hurt and pain everywhere we look and I think it's about time for a day of good news so during the time of our text Second Kings seven good news had vanished in bad news ruled the day for them in Second Kings at this time like many of the kings in Israel johoram did not serve the

Lord who was supposed to lead the people in righteousness he again like many other kings did not serve the Lord there had been seven years of severe drought and famine in the land and also to make things worse the arame King benedad was determined to attack and overtake the capital of Israel Samaria and so this King he had made an assault and through different stories in King Second Kings six and second Kings seven the king of amraham assembled his entire Army and he surrounded the city of Samaria cutting off all Food Supplies and any kind of communication to the outside world they had them locked down they had them hemmed in so at

that time for the city food was scarce and the price to buy food was extremely high and in the text we read that Prophet Elisha is telling the king of Israel that in the middle of this severe drought and in this warm Elijah Elisha prophesies that God would perform an amazing miracle that overnight food would appear and would be in large Supply in that these inflated prices of food and goods would be at an all-time low just overnight the king of course had no faith he would not believe it and so at that time for those who lived within the walls of Samaria good news was a thing of the past the Samaria Daily News the headlines the articles

of that time would read this fearful of the armenian's armies the king locks himself inside of the city this just in troops surround Samaria Food Supplies cut off by Siege countless die of starvation no food citizens turn to cannibalism and because of this stronghold this was everyday life for them no matter where they looked no matter where they turned they were not having a good day good news was nowhere to be found it was just a distant memory of something that had happened and Faded long ago so in Second Kings seven it tells us about the struggles inside the city and what life was like but then it begins to it shifts the focus to

four men who lives outside of the city walls these four guys had it worse than anybody else in the entire area because not only were they starving to death but at some point in their life they were diagnosed with Leprosy leprosy is an infectious disease and infection caused by a slow bacteria called microbacterium leprey now easily cured by modern medicine but in the Bible leprosy was highly infectious and highly contagious and for those who were diagnosed with Leprosy it was a death sentence this infection would cause nerve damage many times crippling the hands feet causing paralysis and blindness and so these guys were in a bad way

and if you had leprosy you were considered the lowest of the low you're rejected kicked out of society kicked out of your family home where you lived you were rejected cast out you would just become a beggar who lived outside of the city walls and so because of their condition what they had they were forced to live outside of these cities wall outside of the gates of Samaria but one day for these four lepers whatever they were doing sitting outside of the city walls something changed in them and they looked at each other in Second Kings seven three to four says what they said and they said why should we sit here waiting to die they

asked each other we will starve if we stay here with the famine in the city but if we starve we will starve if we go back there so we might as well go out and surrender to the Armenian Army if they let us live so much the better but if they kill us we would have died anyways so these guys were moved by desperation four men held an impromptu meeting they got together said look we're going to die either way from leprosy starvation what else do we have to lose why are we going to sit here until we die sitting in our desperate situation sitting in our hopelessness why would we do that let's do something about it so at their absolute lowest

point they made a decision they got together and they said we're not going down without a fight after all what's the Worst That Could Happen we're going to die if we go to the city we're going to die out here maybe if we go there there's there's spare Our Lives they'll throw us some food outside of the city and say get out of here but if the plan fails we're going to die anyway so with that with this newfound determination the Bible says that it was at night they mustered up the courage to get together and they set out for the enemy's Camp you know if they have this disease maybe they were a little crippled and they were struggling

to get to the city imagine the anticipation the anxiety that they had going to that camp setting off into the Armenian army they were a powerful force one of the most three largest nations and most powerful nations of the time it could be the final moments for their life but desperation drove them to make a move and to do something so as the four lepers got closer to the camp no doubts these knots of nervousness took over the pangs of hunger and maybe the Pains of leprosy and the moment came it was do or die and when they reached the edge of the camp something wasn't right they didn't know what was going on they're like this something's

a little weird here I don't understand they saw evidence of the army but the camp was completely silent nobody there not a word probably just the wind blowing through the camp the tents kind of waving in the wind as they continued further what they found shocked him fresh cooked meals were still simmering over the open fires donkeys and horses they were still tied to the Hitching Post tents still had their lanterns on glowing they were confused by was what was going on there was not a single person in the camp they couldn't believe their eyes what is going on looking at each other I can't believe there's nobody here what in the world

is happening Second Kings 7 6 and 7 says this what had happened was the Lord had caused the army of the syrians to hear the noise of Chariots and the noise of horses and the noise of a great Army so they said to one another look the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us therefore they arose and fled at Twilight they left the camp intact their tents their horses and their donkeys they fled for their lives of course the lepers they were unaware of this and verse 8 it says the men who had leprosy reached the edge of the camp and entered one of the tents and ate and drank

they took silver and gold and clothes and they went off and they hid them it says and they returned entered to another 10 and took some things from it and hid them also for these guys in a desperate situation imagine this moment what they stumbled upon how incredibly excited like winning the greatest jackpot in the world they stumbled upon all these riches all this wealth all this food something they probably have never had in their life their last Act of desperation LED them to discover one of the greatest Miracles that God has performed an entire Army gone in just a few hours and so in an instant these men went from having nothing

to being probably the wealthiest men in Israel they're high-fiving dancing if they could dance if they had hands whatever their situation was they were excited they were pumped up about what God had done this was the best day of their life a day of good news and so the Bible says they ate imagine drinking as much as they can stuff in their mouths and then running to a tent and putting on maybe the king's robe and running over here and putting on crowns they were having the time of their life and they said okay let's go over here and get some more food and they're just eating and stuffing themselves and when they couldn't take it any

longer they were stuffed they went into another tent and took the abundance and they said well we're probably not going to have this again so let's go hide it and they're dragging these chests of gold and silver and hiding them I don't know where they hit them but they had a plan and they were hiding all of this money all of this wealth they just went from one tent to another they're discovering amazing wealth enriches and so the Bible says they went back and they took it and hid and not know how long this process went but this is what they did but at some point while they're eating and while they're plundering something happened they

may be stopped eating and they looked at each other well all the crowns on their head maybe food crumbs was on their face and on their clothes Royal robes is sitting on their back and they were laughing but the laughter's faded away the smiles kind of just disappeared from their faces and in their Silence with all this wealth all this food and abundance surrounding them Second Kings 7 and 9 says then they said to each other what we're doing is not right this is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves I don't know what happened to them maybe they remembered the scripture that their parents instilled in them as children

scriptures like Deuteronomy 15 10 where Moses wrote give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart because of this the Lord your God will bless you and all your work in everything you put your hands to but if anyone had the right to keep all of this stuff to keep these blessings you would think it would be the four lepers who had it worse than anybody else they deserved it they were outcasts they had disease they were not the most popular people in Samaria but even with all of those excuses or reasons here's why they knew it was not right to keep the abundance because the amount of provision that God had blessed them with

was far beyond what they needed or can handle on their own God did something amazing but it wasn't just for them yes it was but it was for another purpose so as they looked at each other this Godly conviction hit him like a ton of bricks and they said this isn't right like we we can't be doing this and I'll know if you've experienced that but when God convicts you and he speaks to your life it's like a heavy weight on your chest and cuts you deep in your gut and you know that you have to do that thing and no matter how you feel you've got to do that and that's what they were feeling that's where they're experiencing with all this abundance

around them they begin to think about the people inside of the walls their families they've been separated from their old friends the kids in Samaria the people who were all dying every single day without hope the starvation in the city he was so bad the Bible says that mothers were negotiating and cooking their children for dinner a donkey's head was being sold for around 721.72 cents in today's currency Dove feces was be considered as food and was being sold for 45 dollars and 45 cents roughly around that amount for those four men that night God had honored their step of faith and performed an incredible Miracle one of the greatest

Miracles but the miracle was never intended to be kept to themselves it was never intended for them just to hoard and hide it like they were doing but God had a purpose for this miracle to do something great to fulfill a prophecy to a wicked King to prove his power and to give life to a city that was dying so there they sat looking at each other with his choice to make to hoard the blessing or to share the blessing to keep it in or to tell somebody about this good news and no doubt in your life there's been time when you can rate this relate to the circumstances of the four lepers in the city of Samaria I know in my life I have I can

relate to that feeling this hurt feeling this hopelessness life can bring unexpected circumstances and Seasons that that suffering overwhelms us and cripples us there's family issues at our home there's the pain of divorced parents we have anxiety about what we're going to do when we get out of school and making the perfect grades there's constant social pressure to fit in with the world and to compromise your Apostolic identity and to compromise the things that you believe in and we're taught to do Temptation hits us at every corner and at times in our life it feels like we're outside of The City Gate hoping for something to happen

consumed with no hope nowhere to go but I believe believe that a lot of us are here tonight many of you are here tonight because at some point in your life you had a determination in your heart and in your mind that why should I sit here dying why am I sitting here just giving up but you got up and you determined that I'm not going to be stuck in this hopelessness but I want to get up and do something I'm not going to die at this gate and so because fight your situation or your condition God moved on your behalf if that's you if you experience that I wonder if you can just thank God God thank you for bringing me through God thank you

Lord for touching me in my desperate situation if he's ever done anything we should always be thankful and grateful for what he's done I don't know about you but I'm thankful for a God who is rich in Mercy that loves us no matter where we're at no matter what point in our life that he sees us and he brings hope to our hopeless situation Ephesians 2 6 and 7 reminds us about the nature of our God but God is so rich in Mercy that he loved us so much that even though we were dead because of our sins he gave us life when he raised Jesus of Christ from the dead it's not only by God's grace that you were saved for he raises us from the dead

along with Christ and seated us with him in Heavenly Realms because we are united with Christ Jesus I'm thankful that God loved us so much that we were redeemed and bought by his blood he has blessed us with so much think about the things that we have we have the full revelation of Truth we have amazing churches and sections that we can be a part of and experience the presence of God we have amazing leaders and passion pastors and people that lead us into the right way to live the apostolic church is greater than it's ever been youth congress 32 33 000 people gathered together worshiping God we have so much to be thankful for and we

are surrounded by great abundance and I thank God for what he's done but just as we can relate to the four lepers in their suffering and through their suffering we can also relate to the lepers and their abundance we have been blessed we have given so many things and it's what these four lepers said in that moment that captivated me when I was reading the story in the Bible and what I feel like God has led me to share to you tonight because what we're doing is not right the way we're thinking about this is not right this is the day of good news please don't misunderstand I'm so grateful for what God has done he's Set Me Free he's cleansed

me he's washed me from a past I regret God's done so much and he's blessed us in our life but for a moment can we just stop and can we consider the abundance that we have it's wonderful it's amazing God is pouring out so many so much stuff to us But as God allowed us to experience all of this for our benefit alone or does he have a bigger picture in mind a bigger purpose for what he has given his church for what he's given you as students after Jesus heals a blind man in John 9 3 he says but this happened so that the works of God might be be displayed in him so what God has done in your life and what God has done in me is ultimately

for his glory that others can know him and experience the power that he has but we can't keep this for ourselves God is calling us including myself to stop and consider the words of the four lepers what we're doing is not right this is a day of good news God has done great things we can't keep it to ourself we can't stay satisfied and hide this week after week and go home and just keep it for us for and no more but God has something in mind as a greater purpose for us so when the lepers were there in that moment looking at each other they remembered the condition of their city and the people inside of the city and it changed their perspective

from me to them and when we allow God to open our eyes and see the needs of the world around us God begins to work in us and God begins to work through us when we see with his vision when we look at people through Christ's eyes and believe they can do something they can have hope just as I have hope so tonight I want you to think about something I want you to think about your Samaria where is that at what does that look like where do you do life where do you live where do you go to school that is your Samaria your favorite restaurants it's your favorite places to visit the coffee shops whatever I know there's a big pickleball group

here APC if you like to play Pickleball that's your Samaria that's where people are and that's where you need to be and sharing some good news and so because of the Relentless attack of the enemy in our world people in your Samaria are trapped inside with no hope dying spiritually starving wanting something more in their life and we live among them every single day among Americans aged 12 years old and older 31.9 million people are currently using illegal drugs Louisiana is the first highest but the second state with the highest murder rate surprisingly I found this out yesterday is Missouri with a murder rate of 18 murders per 100

000 people across the U.S on average there are 130 suicides every day along with that there's depression and self-harm and confusion abuse hopelessness the entire world is dying desperate for something that we have a taste of what we are enjoying they want that new life that we have they want the joy that we have the peace that we experience when we come in this place of Freedom no guilt no shame we can't afford to keep it the good news for ourselves any longer his mission is our mission and to reach the lost that God has loved so much and died for but you know what God has given you power God has given you the ability God has given

you the resources to get out of your world get it out of your comfort zone and do something to take off the Robes of abundance and all the things that you have and go and tell your city about God first Peter 2 9 says but you are a chosen people a royal priesthood a holy nation God's special possession we love to quote this verse and there's more left to the verse though Peter goes on to tell us why we were chosen that you may declare the Praises of him who called you out of Darkness Into His Marvelous Light yes you were chosen yes you were Royal you have great purpose and potential but it's not for yourself alone but God did that so

you may declare his glory May declare what he has come to do and has done for the world you have been a chosen as God's special possession for a purpose not to hide it not to hold it after a section two rally not to just keep it in as you go to your schools and you walk in coffee shops and you kind of blend in with Society but you were chosen for a reason to share a day of good news of what Jesus Christ has done for the world his death his burial his resurrection freedom from sin new life people want that in their life in Luke 4 18-19 Jesus says this the spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to Proclaim good news to

the poor he has sent me to Proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recover sight of the blind to set free set the oppressed free to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor we have that same Spirit living inside if you've been filled with the Holy Ghost and you have been given power to witness power to proclaim a day of good news in your world in your Samaria to make a difference God has chosen you to do that Matthew 28 19 the Lord commissions his disciples and us as therefore go and make disciples of all Nations baptizing them in the name of the father and the Son and the Holy Ghost which is Jesus Christ and teaching them to obey everything

I have commanded you in our encouragement and surely I am with you always I'm with you I won't leave you I'm going to be with with you when you Proclaim when you get out of your comfort zone when you step out and tell hope to somebody share the gospel I'm going to be with you until the very end of the age so God has chosen us his chosen section section two APC youth he's been blessed to share so many things with us and we need to share the hope of Jesus Christ with everyone we know so when the lepers they understood the abundance that it was too much for them to keep and when they realize the condition of their world they did not wait

to the perfect time they did not wait till a beautiful morning came up and they were well rested and cleaned themselves up a little bit but Second Kings 7 9 says if we wait here until daylight the leper said punishment will overtake us let's go at once right now I don't care how we look I don't care what we're doing right now and report this to the Royal Palace they acted immediately upon this conviction this word that they felt in their Spirit the four lepers went back to the city and it was at night and they pounded on the city Gates hey anybody up there middle of the night hey and they look over the walls what are you doing be quiet

you know they knew who the lepers were is you're not going to believe it we went to the enemy's camp there's nobody there they're all gone y'all are crazy no I promise we went there there's food there's supplies for the whole city gold silver can't you see this Crown I have on my head there is abundance in the enemy's camp and so the king of course didn't believe him had to send out spies and see that the Army was really gone but the city Gates were open and everyone ran out of the city stormed out of the city went into the camp and the entire city of Samaria that day experienced the mighty blessings of God and the entire city was saved

and had provision had life there was so much abundance that Elisha's prophecy came to pass to a wicked King so the man of God said to the King by this time tomorrow in the markets of Samaria six courts of choice flour will be one piece of silver and 12 quarts of barley what will cost one piece of silver from being 700 over 700 for a nasty donkey's head now barley and grain was only one piece of silver what was scarce and sacred now had become abundant for this city the starvation of the entire city was stopped because for hurting men in a desperate State stepped out in desperation they had conviction they saw the need of their city

and they declared a day of good news and just as the leper said what we're doing is not right we've got to stop let us go at once we should do the same whoever we are in our life wherever you are in your walk with God if you may have been hoarding this or keeping this in or not being so bold to step out or maybe a little intimidated we need to go at once and God wants to speak to us and say you have what it takes to move the mission you have what it takes not just to raise funds and to give but you have the ability to go into your city into your Samaria preach the gospel to tell someone you have hope hey this is a day of good news God

has done so much for me God can do much for you you have what it takes to make a difference in your city and in your world as the musicians come I want to say you tell you a story about my friend how God changed his life when I was a teenager I'll never forget the day that I made Trey I met Trey we were at my friend Bryce's house and we were in the driveway funny story we were crazy and we actually made like this little flamethrower out of like a water gun we're just being guys and Trey pulled into the driveway in a car and I remember him getting out of that car and walking up the driveway and my friend Bryce said hey this is my friend

Trey hey what's up you know we shook hands and kind of that was it meeting Trey we hung out for a little bit that day but Trey did not grow up in an Apostolic home he was living a life of no hope drugs poor decisions depression thoughts of suicide but during a five-minute phone call Trey told me this that someone in our youth group called him and invited him to come to church Trey later told me that he came to church because he was contemplating suicide and felt like he was at the end of life's rope he said I went to church and every there everyone there was very welcoming so I decided to come back about two weeks later I was like they

were pretty nice when I come back a door greeter came up to Trey and said welcome back Trey great to see you and it blew his mind that somebody cared about him that just door greeter things Brother Richard Wells he still serves today opens doors every single week and that's when Trey said that's when I realized that these people love God and there's something special here because they love me and remembered my name and so from that five minute phone call very easy and from someone remembering his name he came to church regularly Trey received the gift of the Holy Ghost he was baptized in Jesus name turned down a full ride scholarship

to her architectural design school to follow God's will volunteered as a youth pastor before going to Bible College went to Bible College evangelized here in the U.S and in different countries Australia and today Trey is the pastor of The Rock Church in Hiram Georgia Trey was spiritually dead but someone reached out to him said hey come to my youth service come to our church and it changed his life they knew that they had a day of good news to share they had something to tell Trey and they did it they didn't stop they didn't wait till perfect timing or maybe I need to pray about this you don't need to pray about talking to somebody

about God the moment is right right then and so for Trey now that process is being repeated good news shared life saved good news shared people have hope good news shared the city of Hiram is being set free with the Gospel of Jesus Christ because someone proclaimed a day of good news someone invited Trey someone cared about Trey so to those of us who've experienced the good news have had so much blessing in our life what will you do the blessings God has placed in your hand right now is a day of good news it's not tomorrow it's not the next day or when you're ready you learned all your Bible verses you've raised enough money you've

done all of this it's right now the next step for you is the same as the lepers you've got to take action you've got to do something with what God is convicting you in your heart and in your spirit to go back to the city and bang on the city Gates and tell everyone that you know because someone is waiting on you to move the mission someone is waiting on for you to share that good news go do that God will honor you God will bless you who give you the words to speak it was a very shy kid growing up and would stumble over my words and wouldn't hardly talk to anybody and so nervous about doing what God wanted me to do but I did it and still

stumble around you know but here I am you know still serving the lord no matter what it takes you can do it if I can do it it'll make a difference you can do it and make a difference so for those of you who haven't done that who haven't really shared or stepped out God wants to use you he wants you to step out and share a day of good news but for those of you who are here tonight you maybe have not had this experience you haven't experienced the power of God maybe not don't even really know what the Holy Ghost is or what power can live inside of you may feel similar to Trey you may feel similar to the four lepers or the people inside

of that City desperate for a change desperate for something different I would encourage you good news is here tonight that Jesus is here to forgive Jesus is here to set free he's here to give you new life he's here to give you hope set free your mind from bondage and addictions and habits God wants to do something for you tonight and he's here to give you a fresh start today is a good day a good a day of good news for you so this can be the moment for you if you feel hopeless maybe you've been in church and you're here and you look the part and everything is great you have your Royal robes on and everything's perfect but inside something's

not right you know you need a change in your life like the lepers same thing who are tied to their situation just get up who cares what you look like who cares what it takes just take a step of faith and let God touch your life as we all stand tonight I want us to think about the condition of your world to think about what you have and what God has blessed you with and consider the abundance it's great it's amazing there's nothing wrong with being blessed by God but if we're sharing if we're not sharing that blessing that's something else God is calling us proclaim a day of good news so before we come I want just about to Bow our heads

and pray and then we're going to come down and respond but I want you to search your hearts whether you have have so much abundance or you need something from god let's ask God to come into this room that he would speak to us and that we would experience the power of God Lord I love you thank you so much for your word gotta thank you for every single student that's in this room every single adult God you see them you are the God who sees us God when we are far away from you or when we're near to you Lord you know every situation God you know every thought Lord you know everything that's happening in our life God and I pray that right

now Lord you would search our hearts those of us God who have been blessed with so much God I pray that you would maybe forgive us Lord of hoarding the blessings God for keeping it to ourselves God help us to see with fresh Eyes Lord to see the world around us or that when we pass that person in our hallways or see them sitting at lunch by themselves Lord help us not to wait for somebody else God to go to them but Lord but help us to proclaim a day of good news God to get this bonus inside of us Lord you have given us power God help us to believe in that and to walk in your faith Lord God but cleanse us from that and give us boldness

to step out Lord I pray for those Lord who are here tonight and they're in a hopeless situation God they seem like they can't do anything maybe they're like Trey contemplating suicide or not going any further in church I pray Lord that you would let them know Lord today is the good news God that you're here to set them free that your power Lord is here that you can fill them that you can renew them the god that you can save them tonight Lord you love us so much thank you Lord for shedding your blood for our sins God but being raised with new life well we thank you Lord cleanse the sky but we want to be more committed to you than we've

ever been amen if that's you tonight if you need to reclaim a day of good news or you do need to experience a day of good news I encourage you to come to the front and find a place to pray come find a place to experience God to say Lord got to know Lord that you've chosen me God to move the mission God this is a day of good news Lord and I can't hold it to myself but I notice I have so much Lord and I thank you for that Lord but I hand it over to you God maybe things that I've hold so tightly into my hand Lord I release that back to you Lord take what I have Lord and I give it back to you that's right begin to pray and begin to give

God what you have it may be a lot it may be a little but when you hand it over to God he's going to take it and he's going to turn into something miraculous he's going to turn into something powerful you have the ability to change a whole city to see the Lost save if you need hope God is here to give you hope God is here to set you free Lord I love you I thank you God for the power that's in your name Jesus you change everything God in one moment you can change our life God in one moment Lord that's it begin to raise your hands begin to pray to him talk to him like you're talking to a friend Lord I love you God I need you and more in

my life God I have this going on I have that going on Lord but I'm desperate Lord God to do something for you that's right Lord that's it while you're praying will you see those people you pass in your school see the friend that you're great friends with you haven't shared a day of good news with him will you see the loss will you see your city that you live in your neighborhood God help us see the needs God help us not to hold it in God we want to move the mission God we want to move the gospel forward Lord You've encrypt this Lord now with What It Takes Hallelujah if you need something from God just raise your hand someone's gonna

come to you someone's gonna pray for you let's begin to worship him and say God I need you Lord I can't do it without you but I'm like the four lepers God I'm desperate I'm hopeless God but I'm gonna make a mood for now what else do I have to lose God I need you Jesus bless it call out students maybe find someone to pray with Lord I need you God that's it pray a little more pray a little harder pray a little bit of a deeper prayer thank you Jesus you may have been to a lot of section two rallies but be something different let God do something different tonight that's it something's breaking in your spirit right now God is touching today

is a day of good news today is a day of good news a good news life saves good news hope giving come on they need us to pray they need us to reach
