brother Eric has our scripture verses and I'm going to see if if as as I call them out if you have your Bibles and want to look these up this is just some Bible information for what I want to talk to you about here tonight we're not going to keep you long but I want to give just a short bit of background these verses are going to be very quick so if you want to write them down take pictures or something of the screens and then look them up later I'll make just a brief reference to them and then we're going to go into the gospel of Mark to finish the Bible reading and I do have a title and a subtitle to the message here this evening Psalm 107 verse 20 it does say he sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their distractions Jesus Christ Our Savior I was born and raised in a Jehovah's Witness household some of my brothers my sister are very staunch to this day it's difficult even to be able to put a word in edgewise and talk to them about the Lord himself but he heals at his word I'm going to talk to you about this as we move toward the conclusion here tonight then Proverbs Chapter 4 verses 18 and through 20. this the path of the justice as The Shining Light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day and then verse number 19 The Way of the Wicked is as Darkness they know not at what they stumble and then verse 20 my son attended to my words incline thine ear unto my sayings and then the next verse please if you if you do have that is that possible to bring that one up okay do we have verse 21 there brother Eric sorry that okay let them not depart from Thine Eyes keep them in the midst of a thine heart and verse 22. for they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh I challenge you take the word health and examine it through especially the Old Testament you'll find that that particular word right there it means that the word of God itself has the first definition there it has Curative capability I'm not I'm not saying that it is Magic and I have to be very very careful about this theologically but when you find these places in the Old Testament where it speaks about the idea of Health it is almost always with the idea that a curing process is taking place one of the first things that I do as a pastor with people come with a problem or an issue I want to I want to be challenged and I want to challenge them have you read out loud what God has spoken concerning this this issue this is an issue and you're coming to me we'll examine it together but we're going to hear what God has said about this we're going to listen to what he has said and then we're going to take these verses and we're going to read them out loud I'm telling you I am the son of a doctor my father was a chiropractor that doesn't make me a doctor but it makes that I can understand something of what his desire and and burden was to help people get better and feel better and that's what we do in Ministry a law we're not trying to make you feel better but Jesus went about curing people he went about healing people that's what we're going to talk about here for just a little bit tonight and then Matthew chapter 8 verse 16. when the evening was come they brought unto him many that were possessed with Devils it wasn't my Ministry pastors I can tell you in California when I was pastoring there but in Malta we were called upon her regularly especially in our first term to cast out demons not what I was hoping to do not what I was wanting to be confronted with but that's what the Lord showed us must happen for the work to move forward and doors unimaginable to open in front of us in Jesus name and he cannot he cannot stay but it goes on it says he cast out the spirits with his word and healed all that were sick that is logos in that in the original language there and then Luke 7 7 and 8. wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee but say in a word you can look this the first 10 verses of the seventh chapter is about the soldier who had this servant at home sick and asking Jesus to heal him but he says no you don't have to come to my house but just speak that word and I know that my servant is going to be healed my servant shall be healed say in a word logos again and then Mark 1 and 28 and this is the cry box of it and this is going to be our first title and then we got a subtitle coming right after and it says Eddie immediately his Fame spread abroad throughout all the region around about Galilee would you would you all say immediately thank you Jesus his Fame spread throughout Galilee but it was an immediate thing my wife and I came in from the field just a couple of months ago this has been it's going to be a short deputation thank you Jesus God has already shown us the the end of this before we began and we're very grateful for this but we were in our home in Arizona and I I saw my wife was feeding the birds but there was all these tree limbs back there so I was going to go out there and cut these tree limbs so I was working on cutting these tree limbs and I hear this voice from over a hundred feet away at a real loud voice a strong voice and this this is the subtitle of my message tonight the title is immediately but I hear this voice that said hey Kirby that's a subtitle Kirby come over here would you please lay hands on me and pray for me in the name of Jesus I mean this is early in the morning this is like eight or eight thirty I'm clipping branches and I hear my name and it's this elderly gentleman two doors down and he's hollering so I put my tools down and I go over and I said Michael what's what's what's the deal he says oh he says I have hurt my back I don't know what I did but he says look at this and he tried to he was sitting on the patio furniture and he couldn't get up he says I heard you were in the neighborhood and I just thought he'll come over I can see him laying hands on me and I'll be healed in Jesus name so please pray for me this is he was talking just about this voice and so I I took him by the hand and I said Lord Jesus we ask your touch by your stripes we are healed touch my neighbor Mike here this morning in Jesus name for your glory and the man he says thank you God and he goes like this he's about 88 years of age he raises up and he's standing up his wife comes out she goes oh no Michael Michael he says wait a minute just a minute he says I was shown that this fellow would come over here this man of he said man of God this man of God would come lay hands on me and I'm claiming God has healed me and there was a standing in front of me like you know praise God the Lord wants us to do some of these things immediately maybe your neighbor is not going to holler at you okay whatever your name is Doreen Donald Fred Philip whatever your name is maybe it's not going to be shouted out like that but I promise you somebody is waiting for you to come over and talk to them about their savior their creator just say your name okay everybody do this this is the first time I've done this try this on the count of three say your name real loud okay let's see how bold you are one two three I like it you just may hear that okay here's a knock at the door in in Malta we open our front door we go like this and the first step that you take you're on the road bed there's no threshold there's no front porch there's no walkway going out to the street it's open the door and you look that way for the cars coming down the street work we live on uh kabira which means the big street the the large road and you open your door and the other side of the street is eight feet over there in fact going down the street it's about seven feet wide so it's not a huge street but here here's a a friend of ours we taught him a Bible study he had been come to church a few times wrapped in a bandage from his fingernails up to his shoulder and he said oh Pastor look at this he begins unwrapping his arm we call it in American English we call it hamburger in Malta it's called minced beef it looked like he'd put his arm into a mincer and it was just like raw flesh all the way up and down his arm as he unwrapped it I said John what happened and John said oh I was swimming and I Tangled with a jellyfish it can be it can actually be deadly and here he was in pain and hurting my wife and I went out we look for cars okay we go out in the street in Jesus name see when we say immediately we don't say okay well let's look at the calendar and find out what day we can come over and be with you you know oh I got a slot open next Tuesday night I'll come over and I'll pray for you then you know but God is is exacting something he wants us to immediately when you see this in mark that first chapter where I read to you in verse 28 at least five times previous to that word immediately is used and straightway they left their Nets and followed Jesus he would touch and Minister and straightway and he immediately something positive was going to take place are you ready for an immediate action kind of situation in your life it's going to happen because it's too important time is advancing so swiftly toward his coming say not Jesus said there's four months and then the Harvest don't talk like that the Lord wants us to know yes start a Bible study today that maybe in 10 weeks somebody will be ready for baptism but talk to them about the plan of salvation Salvation talk to them about what Jesus has done for them at Calvary speak to them about the grace of the Lord Kirby come over here and pray for me a man came to church he had broken his leg a year and a half before my wife and I had gone and prayed for him and the Lord did make him better but he came to church after all this time he had a Chinese wife this was a Maltese man he came in he sat in the back and I was up front and I was ministering and I was talking teaching and preaching he came up after church and he says Pastor he says this is really bizarre but I want to tell you he says you know you came and you prayed for me but he said my leg and it's healing it has been a year and a half long and I came in this morning and I was in agony with my leg but he says I tell you what as you were speaking and as you were teaching he said all of a sudden I got to realizing that in my leg there was no pain and I am standing here talking to you and I am not in pain at all the power of the word of Jesus is sufficient yes we are going to lay hands on the sick and they will recover yes we are going to anoint with oil and see people get well and whole I've been preaching this for two months and I'm excited about it we have seen wonderful Miracles take place in Malta but I get a phone call just two Fridays ago and it's my older brother in California Jehovah's Witness that he is and he says Kirby if you want to see our younger brother Kevin alive you're going to have to come out here and see him out of the blue we just finished with one conference and we were scheduled to go immediately into another conference I made some phone calls I contacted our regional director and some other of our leaders and I said this is a critical situation I've never had a phone call of this about my side of the family of a family member about ready to die Kevin had been a backslider when he backslid he had served the Lord for about three years very beautifully and then he backslid hard and he lived his life for self satisfaction for the last 40 years and he is in a very very bad place right now so my wife and I we received the call one day we were on an airplane and flew to California the next day from right out here in St Louis and so we drove ready rented a car and drove to where my brother was and we went in here he is shriveled up on the bed hardly recognized him his wife said that he had all that stopped eating and he had lost weight down to 100 pounds and less probably didn't weigh 100 pounds and so I sat on his bed I said Kevin it's so good to see you I want to talk to you about the Lord he had been antagonistic about anything related to the gospel very antagonistic it got so bad that couldn't even really talk to him about the things of God but there I was and he was looking at me and I said may we talk about the Lord says sure sure um in his right mind able to track what I am saying and able to make responses and so we did pray we held hands my wife and his wife in the other part of the room over there praying fervently and I stopped and I said Kevin are you able to say I love you Jesus clears a bell he said I love you Jesus if you if you could know what that did for me I said are you able to say I want you God he said I want you God and then we've prayed again but we came back the next day and we went in and we prayed again but my wife and I both commented he looks weaker here this morning and then we of course we had to leave to get back here for events here so we came back but we waited a couple days and the day after Thanksgiving last week we called and spoke to both Sheila and my brother Kevin and there he was conversing away uh in his right mind and I said you know maybe maybe Sheila he'd be able to advance to some chicken soup or something like he says Kirby he ate two helpings of Thanksgiving dinner everything the turkey the dressing the mashed potatoes yesterday two helpings of that and I thought thank you Jesus because it is an immediate thing my wife and I both felt pressed in the spirit if we're preaching teaching the healing grace of God in his Touch by his stripes we are healed then I think we need to be able to prove that we're believing in that message I call my brother again he asked her and he says please come on come on back so my wife and I are making plans by the grace of the Lord of this window of opportunity presents itself we'll be going back to see more progress in the spirit and in the natural as God would even raise him up and re refill him with the gift of the Holy Ghost can you say Amen in closing now there's there's just a a stack of stories that we could tell about how God had raised up this one but there was another man with another broken leg we went out of our house we were going to leave for deputation we could see up the street a man waving at us like this he was our neighbor and he was there he had his foot propped up on a folding chair he was sitting in another folding chair right on the sidewalk right in front of his house busy street cars going by passers foot traffic what have you and we went up and his name is Nino Nino a Maltese man I said Nino what have you done his leg was in a cast from the knee down to the toes his toes were sticking out like this black and blue and and his knee swollen up twice the size of normal like this I said what in the world he says oh Pastor he says I was up painting my balcony and I fell off the ladder and I have broken my leg he said would you pray for me so I said we'll pray for you right here my wife and me we had another missionary couple visiting us and so we laid hands on ninu and prayed in the name of Jesus and thank you Lord and we left and about two or three days later uh we went out the door and and really it was critical now and we had to get get going but I could see this man waving at me like this and so I I went over to him and I said Nina what is it I could see he from 20 feet away I could see his toes hit they were wiggling like this you know and uh you know uh perfect soundness of Flesh and he took and showed me that his kneecap wasn't swollen anymore he was going like this and wiggling it and it was completely no swelling no black and blue I said Nino how he he says God Kirby Kirby God has heard your prayer and he has healed my leg now backing up because I didn't give the story when we prayed for John he came back one week later knocked on the door we opened the door and he was wearing a regular long sleeve shirt he rolled his sleeve up that arm looked as good he had one little Band-Aid right here to cover one place that was needing just a little bit more healing but it was 95 percent completely well and whole God Is A Healer we we rejoiced with the man on the sidewalk and we were walking away from I got about 12 15 feet away and my back was to him and I heard him say he said Kirby God has sent you to us I'm only saying my name this number of times because I want you to think of it sort of as your name okay you shouted out your name just a moment ago I went over to him and I said ninu what did you just say he said I wanted you to hear me say God has sent you to us and my heart just melted and I said ninu if I ever needed to hear a short sentence like that I needed to hear that today that's the sentence every missionary wants to be able to hear praise be unto God would you stand with us tonight I've been speaking but the word of God has been going forth Psalm 107 proverbs 4 Matthew 8 Luke 7 mark 1. have all gone forth yes we could do a prayer and my wife and I were privileged one time down in Kentucky there's a church of more than 250 on a Sunday morning and the pastor got a revelation he says I want you to pray for everybody here today one by one you know it already preached for a better part of an hour and they had formed a prayer line and my wife and I were standing right there and for the next hour and a half at least shouting at the top of our voices laying hands on and praying for everybody but his word Goes Forth he sent his word and I I make this promise to you if you'll devote to the word of God on such a level that you are shouting out his word calling it with fervency calling it with hope calling it with that light is coming from this calling that Curative capability is emanating from that God will touch you and and and and pastors can can spend all day going on and praying for the sick but but once you have the ability to open your Bible and just say God I love this word as the as the psalmist had said over and over through there this law I love I want to hear what it has to speak into my heart and into my soul thank you Apostolic Pentecostal Church of God thank you for supporting my wife and me and the work in Malta we believe you're making a good investment and then positive things are going to happen I want us to lift our hands and worship Jesus God we praise you we bless you and we thank you amen and amen let the word of the Lord go forth in power let the word of the Lord go forth in faith to touch save and to heal and bring about this great cure we ask in the name of Jesus Amen and amen
