Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
A Seat Reserved: Letting Go of Baggage
- He opens with gratitude to the conference's pastors and leaders for believing in, prophesying into, and training his generation, saying that every time an older man or woman of God has trusted him, it has called him to rise higher and be the best God would allow him to be.
- He tells of deliberately humbling himself by flying Southwest instead of enjoying his usual first-class upgrades, recalling the saying he was taught: if you eat the crumbs of humility, you will never have to eat the whole loaf.
- Boarding the plane, he is perplexed to find the front rows sitting wide open while the rest of the plane fills, and learns the reason from the flight attendant: above those seats there is no room for the passengers' baggage.
- He draws the lesson that God has made believers to sit together with Him in heavenly places and that a reserved place waits for every apostolic believer — but to take the seat, a person has to let go of their baggage; the view and the seat are worth it.
The Announced Text: Three Kings in a Dry Valley
- He announces his text from the third chapter of Second Kings: two heathen kings and a God-fearing king have made an alliance against the Moabites and, after about seven days in the desert, are equipped and trained but dehydrated and lacking water.
- Jehoshaphat asks whether there is a prophet of the Lord there to inquire of, and Elisha is identified as the one who poured water on the hands of Elijah; the kings go down to him.
- Elisha refuses the heathen kings, telling them to go to the prophets of their fathers and mothers, but says that were it not for his regard for Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, he would not even look at them — God is about to work for some because of them and for others in spite of them.
- At the prophet's call a minstrel is brought, and when the musician plays, the hand of the Lord comes upon Elisha.
- The word of the Lord follows: make this valley full of ditches; they will see neither wind nor rain, yet the valley will be filled with water for them, their cattle, and their beasts — a light thing in the sight of the Lord, who will also deliver the Moabites into their hand.
- He declares his subject — 'I've got a shovel and I'm dangerous' — has the congregation repeat it to both neighbors, and leads a prayer of thanksgiving for every miracle God is about to do in the house.
Scriptures: 2 Kings 3
Rock Bottom Is a Blessing
- He admits he has become more familiar with valleys than with mountaintops and addresses church planters, missionaries, pastors, teachers, and prayer warriors who find themselves in dry, low, barren places.
- He reads from what he wrote standing on Mars Hill in Greece beneath the Acropolis: Paul, physically standing low in the shadow of the high city and dismissed as a babbler, testified of the rock that is higher than he was and sowed the gospel into ground harder than the rock beneath his feet.
- The temple Paul stood before is now in decay and the Acropolis is falling apart, yet the truth Paul spoke remains fully intact and continuing — the temple is now a museum, but the truth is still a movement; history is galvanized by eternity.
- The bottom is a blessing the adversary does not have: the enemy's pit is bottomless, but a saint at rock bottom has a bottom — a fresh start with the ability to pray again, believe again, and fast one more time.
The Minstrel: When Hands Move, Heaven Moves
- Returning to the kings' encounter, he stresses that Elisha gives a word to the company only for Jehoshaphat's sake: God will answer even in a city of wickedness because of one intercessor, one church planter, one singular Bible study teacher in it.
- Elisha calls for a musician because the atmosphere will not produce a word in his present mood: when the anointed musician's hand begins to move, the hand of heaven begins to move.
- He honors psalmists, singers, songwriters, and musicians — apologizing on behalf of any preacher who has diminished them — and urges them to play not only on Sunday but at midnight on Monday and in the Wednesday lunch room.
- He testifies that he sometimes has to put music on himself just to change the atmosphere, and thanks God both for the men and women who brought him words from heaven and for the minstrel who changed the atmosphere so he could receive the word.
Dig Deeper: Emptiness Becomes Capacity
- The prophetic word to a thirsty, weary army is not to fight but to dig: greater works will take greater work, and the hearers have the ability to turn a low place into a deep place — drop the sword, pick up the shovel, and dig a little deeper.
- The valley was a dry riverbed: sometimes the river has to be woken up, and if it will not wake up, it must be dug up; the water did not come down from the heavens but flowed from beneath them, and there is something deeper than any valley.
- Jael turned a tent peg — the very thing that held the tent up — into the weapon that brought the enemy down; what held the tent up became what brought the adversary down, a tool turned into a weapon.
- He recalls breaking up the fallow ground of his own heart in a service until something began to flow out of his belly, and tells of Isaac, who re-dug and unstoppered wells and, facing opposition over each one, refused to fight over wells because he had access to the flow — so he dug again, and dug again.
- The Samaritan woman came to draw water at a well already dug while living water was drawing her, and David's brook was already flowing before David reached his valley; emptiness has to become capacity and emptiness has to become potential, for the dug ditches become retention for what God will pour.
Naaman: God Moves Little by Little
- He cautions that what God is about to do will be spectacular and seismic, but God also moves little by little — a little coat for Samuel, a little honey for Jonathan, a little cloud for Gehazi, a little cake and a little oil for the widow, a little chamber for the prophet, a little lad with fishes and loaves — and warns never to underestimate the power of a little.
- In Naaman's house there is a little maid, a hostage and a slave, who yet has more freedom than Naaman: she testifies of her God even in captivity, and Naaman hears and heeds her and comes to the house of the same prophet.
- Naaman, who tells everyone what to do, has no answer for his leprosy — royalty and earthly palaces have none — and he nearly misses his miracle over dirt and wounded pride, offended that the prophet will not even come out to see him.
- His servant provokes him: if the prophet had asked a great thing, he would have done it; the miracle is nearly lost not because the ask is too great but because it is too small — the word comes by a still small voice, line upon line, here a little and there a little.
- He confesses that his own missed miracles in 2023 have come from 'I thought it should happen like this,' while God's ways and thoughts are higher; and consistency, he says, is harder than being radical — hell does not mind three hours of prayer on Monday if there is no prayer again for thirty days.
- Naaman steps into the muddy Jordan for himself — salvation, revival, and consecration are personal and cannot be delegated or subcontracted — and only at the seventh dipping does he emerge with everything leprosy stole restored; anything less than full obedience does not lead to full transformation.
- Naaman tries to pay and is refused — you cannot pay for something priceless — and instead asks for two mules' load of dirt, preferring the dirt of Israel to the palace of his old life and determined to take some of this conference home with him.
The Rumor and the Refreshing
- He returns to the kings: at the time of the meat offering the water began to flow, emptiness became capacity and void became potential, and the soldiers drank and were refreshed — the worker is about to be the recipient, as the servants who drew the water were the first to know the miracle when Jesus turned water to wine.
- The sun shining on the water made it look like blood to the enemy, who concluded the kings had turned on one another; the same sun blamed for the dryness becomes the reason for the enemy's confusion — give the sun credit for working on your behalf.
- He declares the report of brothers and sisters destroying each other a rumor: the truth is that Moab is about to face a refreshed, hydrated army — they did not die in the valley; the valley is where they became deadly.
- He calls the congregation to the front to lock arms, vowing to back up and validate rather than discredit one another, and presses the response: laid-down swords and taken-up shovels, going deeper than the old self rather than deeper than anyone else, and digging together with a prayer partner when one's own strength fails.
The Valley of Baca: Valley or Vessel
- He reads his closing scripture: passing through the valley of Baca, they make it a well, and the rain fills the pools — in another rendering, those who walk through the valley of weeping will find it become a place of refreshing springs; every hearer has the decision whether it will be a valley or a vessel.
- Joseph's pit was a cistern, a well without water: as long as there is no flow, the adversary can imprison a person, but the flow will bring a person higher than unforgiveness, higher than addiction, higher than prison.
- The capture ends inside the closing charge, as he calls the congregation to pray and call forth the water — old wells springing up, dry riverbeds waking, and springs beginning to erupt.
Scriptures: Psalms 84:6
Scripture index: 2 Kings 3; Psalms 84:6.
But I'm so grateful. I'm so grateful for what God has done. And again, thank you for allowing me to be a part on behalf of my generation. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for prophesying into us, training us. I've been in environments and I've been around people that say they believe in you and then they hold you at an arm's length distance. They're skeptical of you. I believe in wisdom, but there's something about when a man of God, a woman of God trusts you. There's moments that my pastor has trusted me. There's moments that Nathan Herod trusted me overseas. There's moments that these pastors have trusted me and every time that somebody older than me placed trust in me, it calls me to want to rise higher and be the best that God would allow me to be. I'm so thankful for that belief and that trust. And I mean that with all of my heart. I don't know if it's ADD or the Holy Ghost, but I'm telling you, I feel such a surge in my spirit.
Do we have time for a story? I just, if we can have story time with Landon, I'd be a little bit more comfortable. And I normally fly Delta, that's another flex. And I normally don't have to pay for first class, Brother Adrian, that's another flex. I normally just buy a regular seat that the peasants would normally sit in. And then I normally get upgraded to business or first class and I'm just gonna be honest with you in case you think I'm being too bougie. I'm not, I have this hybrid of pride and humility because I do quite often make it to first class, but I don't pay for it. And I just want y'all to know that that view of the sunset changes when you had to pay $755 for it. I'm just telling you, first class, it's a little different when you don't have to pay for it. But Nathan here had told me something, probably back in the days when I was still prideful, obviously I didn't hear, I'm still struggling with it. He said, if you eat the crumbs of humility, you'll never have to eat the whole loaf. Well, every once in a while, I think I need to eat the whole loaf. So when I do, I fly Southwest. And so I decided I needed a little humbling and so I decided to fly Southwest. The airline where every seat is first class, lies, lies, lies. And so I decided that I was like, I can't do C73. I at least got to be in group A. And so I got, I paid $40 for 80, 49. And so I thought, I gotta humble myself, but maybe in just, you know, a little by little. And so I walk into the plane and the stewardess greets me with a smile and I see something that throws me off. I mean, when I have smart moments, I'm surprised. So I thought, I'm not this smart. The second row is filled. The third row is filled. The fourth row is filled. Almost half the plane is filled with A1 through A39. I ain't bitter. I'm happy for them. But I'm more perplexed because the first row is wide open. And the other row, the opposite is wide open. And so I start second guessing myself. I trip to the stewardess and I said, can I sit here? She said, yes. I said, okay. I began to analyze. Is there a throw up on this chair? Is there a baby on this aisle? Somebody leaves some McDonald's fries. And so I sat down and I waited and people kept falling by. People kept falling by. And I was just like, I just, I want somebody to see that this front row is empty. Or am I missing something? And I'm telling you the story is about to get better. So don't bellow my story. I get really insecure when people bail on my stories. I saw some of you bailing. Finally a lady sat down on the aisle. She didn't sit in the middle, praise God. And so now we got to join the rest of the Southwest family by glaring at people who would dare think that they would sit in the middle. But I watched as the row opposite slowly filled. And so I asked the stewardess, I said, I feel like a psychologist right now. Or I'm doing a social experiment. I said, I need to know why everybody is passing these front rows. She said, I don't know. I said, I need to know. I have mental FOMO. I need to know. Like, I gotta figure this out. I'm gonna be glitching tonight. I gotta know. And so finally she looked up and she said, oh, well, you know what? It may be that above there's not room for their baggage. And I said, self, I can preach about that. Now I'm not gonna preach about it. If I am gonna have storytime with LG about it. You like, I'm on a last service, last session rescue mission.
Because the Bible says that he has made us to sit together with him in heavenly places. Today I'm just gonna do my best to try to make you to sit down where God has reserved a place for you. I'm just gonna do my best to let you know there is a place waiting for every apostolic believer. Some of you've already found it. There's a few that haven't. You gotta let go of any baggage. That view is worth it. That seat is worth it. I believe the Lord is gonna minister to somebody today. Do you believe that? I believe it with all of my heart.
First Kings, second Kings chapter three, second Kings chapter three, two heathen kings and a God fearing king have made an alliance against the Moabites. They are in a dry moment. They are in a dry season. They have walked approximately seven days in the desert. They are equipped. They are trained. There is three armies, but there is one problem. They are dehydrated and they are thirsty and they are lacking. Verse 11 says, but just Hassefat said, is there not here a prophet of the Lord that we may inquire of the Lord by him? One of the King of Israel's servants answered and said, here is Elisha, the one who poured water on the hands of Elijah. Hassefat said, the word of the Lord is with him. So the King of Israel and Jahasaphat and the King of Edom went down to him and Elisha said unto the King of Israel, what have I to do with thee? Go to the prophets of your fathers and the prophets of your mothers. These are heathen kings. It appears that they are being political. It appears that they are opportunists and if y'all don't think the prophet is savage, the prophet be savage. He said, I don't got a word for you and I don't got a word for you. Go back to your false prophets. They continually inquired.
Verse 14 says and Elisha said, as the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I stand surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jahasaphat, the King of Judah, I would not even look at you. God's about to do some things for some people. God's about to speak to some people. God's about to work on behalf of people. And for some it will be because of them and for others it will be in spite of them. But there are key men and women of God, men and women of renown, men and women that are known before the throne and God is going to do selective works for them. Prophets said, I have respect for Jahasaphat. Now bring me a minstrel. Bring me a musician. It's time to change the atmosphere. And when the minstrel played with his hands, the Lord moved with his hand. I might not even be offended if you just keep playing. We're gonna come back to that. He said, thus saith the Lord, make this valley full of ditches. Thus saith the Lord, you shall not see wind, neither shall you see rain, yet the valley shall be filled with water that you may drink, both you and your cattle and your beast. And this is not going to require your God to sweat. This is a light thing in the sight of the Lord. And he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.
I told you I'm ADD. I told you I don't always do well with intros, bodies, and conclusion. So we're just gonna skip the intro and I'm just gonna preach and we're gonna go home in victory. Would that be all right? I wanna preach to you this simple declaration. I gotta shovel and I'm dangerous. I want you to turn to your neighbor and I want you to tell them, I gotta shovel and I'm dangerous. I want you to turn to your other neighbor, the one you just rejected. And I want you to tell them, I gotta shovel and I'm downright dangerous. Now one more time would you lift up your hand? Not in intercession, but in gratitude. Would you lift your voice? Would you close your eyes? And would you just thank God for what he's about to do in this house? God, I thank you for every miracle. I thank you for the ministry of every evangelist, prophet, teacher, pastor, and apostle that's come forward. I thank you for every veteran believer. I thank you for every new believer. I thank you for every particle. I thank you God for doing what only you can do. Do what only you can get credit for in this house. Let the angels of the Lord ascend and descend and minister to the airs of salvation. I thank you for it Lord. Somebody say in Jesus' name. Somebody say in Jesus' name. Somebody say in Jesus' name. Somebody shout in Jesus' name. You may be seated.
Don't you love awkward silence? I'm drinking water because we're about to be in a desert. The Bible lets us know that there are soldiers with armor, with weaponry that have found themselves in an insulting situation. They have found themselves in alliance, in unity with other armies. And yet they have found themselves in a dry place. They have found themselves at the bottom. They have found themselves in a valley. I'm gonna be real with you today. I seemingly have become more familiar with valleys than mountain tops. I have seemingly found myself more at home at the bottom than living on top. One man said, I live on the mountain top. I'm just barely home. Sometimes I feel like that perhaps I have switched my address and my zip code because when I look down, I see the bottom. Sometimes it's dry. Sometimes it is hard. I've come to preach to a church planner. I've come to preach to a missionary. I've come to preach to a pastor, a Sunday school teacher, a nusher, a prayer warrior. I've come to preach to a prayer warrior in the making. I've come to preach to a future church planner. I've come to preach to a Bible study teacher that will become a missionary.
I recently found myself in Greece preaching a youth conference. I made my way to Mars Hill. I wanted to stand on Bible history. I was overwhelmed by the visual of standing atop Mars Hill beneath the Acropolis. I will now read you what I wrote. Standing on Mars Hill, the Acropolis looms above you. The Greek root, acro means high. Thus an Acropolis is in essence a high city. Being on location, the visual becomes a visceral experience. I begin to imagine as Paul was in the shadow of the Parthenon in this upper city as he spoke to Epicurean and Stoic philosophers, the very rock he stood on so much lower than the heights of human wisdom and Greek culture, seemingly rising before him. Yet he still testified and professed of the rock that is higher than you and I. His bodily presence was considered weak and his speech contemptible. He spoke of something higher than every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, where he stood physically did not match where he stood spiritually. Articulating truth in the shadow of this upper city, he represented an elevated city whose builder and maker was God. They called him a babbler. Heaven called him an ambassador. He preached Jesus and the resurrection. He uttered the gospel void of gimmicks. He allowed the infinite to become the intimate. He amade the unknown God known. He forsook the nears and he became a vessel. And against all odds, Paul had the audacity to sow at the very bottom into stone, co-rock. Cultural climate was supremely more rigid than the surface beneath his sandals. The only thing harder than the rock beneath his feet with the hearts of pagan society gone mad, drunk on lust, violence and self, yet still Paul sowed. I'm overwhelmed as I'm seeing all of this in person. I would write continually in dramatic irony, the temple is now in decay. The aquapolist is now falling apart and yet the truth is still fully intact. Remnants and ruins are all that is left while that which Paul spoke of boldly is still continuing to this day. Columns and coliseums alike lie in memoriam while the pillars of truth once delivered to the saints stand tall. History is always galvanized by eternity. The temple is now a museum, but the truth is still a movement. All because one man was not intimidated by being at rock bottom. Come to preach to somebody that finds themselves at the bottom. You find yourself in a hard place. You find yourself in a dry place. Can I tell you that the bottom, whether it be the bottom of a mountain, whether it be the bottom of a valley is a blessing. It is a blessing that is afforded to you that is not afforded to your adversary because the Bible says an angel will arrest him and throw him into a deep dark pit. But it's not just any pit, it's a bottomless pit. I've come to preach to a saint of God that would find themselves on the bottom of a valley. I remind you, you have more than your adversary has. It may be rock bottom, it may be a dry barren riverbed, but the bottom is something that your adversary does not have. You have a fresh start. You have a beginning. You have the ability to pray again. You have the ability to believe again. You have the ability to fast one more time. You have the ability to close your eyes and see into the heavenly realm just one more time.
So what he is in this desperate dilemma, somebody says, we are in a low place. We are in a dry place. We are in a barren place. We've got to get a hold of the prophetic as they have an encounter with the prophet. As we have just read, the prophet is a little savage. They've caught him hangry. It's the wrong day to visit because he is not in the mood. He said, I don't believe you. You're a fake. And I don't believe you. You're a carnal. But I do know you. Jehoshaphat. I have regard for you. And because of, oh, who am I preaching to in this room right now? Mama is disgusted by your devotion to God. And your friends are atheists. And it seems as if everything around you is against God. But because of you, God will answer. And because you're in a city of vileness, you're in a city of wickedness, you're in the capital of sin. But all God needs is one intercessor, one church planner, one prophet of God, one singular Bible study teacher. I need a musician. I need a musician. You're doing more than just strumming a guitar. You're doing more than just playing the keys. When your hand begins to move as an anointed musician, the hand of heaven begins to move.
Now I've got to preach to a psalmist right now. I've got to preach to a songwriter right now. I'm thankful that God called me to preach. Sometimes I do get a little envious of my bestie. And I say, James, I love you, but I hate you. I say, you don't even, if you don't even you got a bad sermon, you can sing. I preach and you can sing. I said, I got to preach. There's no plan B. And your boy life's preaching to people. And when I sing, there's no more people. I got to preach. I'm grateful that God called me to preach. I'm content in who I am, and I am content in who I am not. Mostly. But I am thankful for men and women of God that are psalmist and singers and songwriters and musicians. And if a preacher has ever diminished you, I apologize on their behalf. The prophetic needs you to play because when you move your hand off, heaven begins to move its hand. So you want to play the piano, not just on Sunday, but at midnight on Monday. You want to strum your guitar on Wednesday in the lunch room and wash the hand of heaven. Even the prophet knows he's in a bad mood. Right, even the prophet said this atmosphere is not going to produce a word. He said, but I just need somebody to play. I just need somebody to play. Can you play? Do you know how to play the piano? I need you just to play something. See, here's the deal. I'm dealing with two carnal people, but there's a really spiritual person. And I'm more ticked off right now at the carnal people. And I'm trying to give grace to the spiritual person. And I've got Jehoshaphat right here, and he needs a word, and I wouldn't give a word to these others. But because of Jehoshaphat, I'm gonna give a word. I need my hand to partner with your hands. And we're gonna partner with the hand of heaven. And right now I'm annoyed. Right now I want to cuss. Right now, I didn't say I cussed. I just said I wanted to cuss. But if you'll just begin to play, if you can just play just a little bit, just play something. The atmosphere is changing. The atmosphere is changing. I know we need the word, but I really don't want to give the word without this. Because this begins to change the atmosphere. I appreciate that Paul was willing to sow into rock bottom, but I need a minstrel and I need a Paul mist. And sometimes I just gotta put on Apple music. And I just need an atmosphere change. I need an atmosphere change. I feel a word coming. If you'll keep moving your hand, heaven's moving its hand. Bible says the hand of the Lord came upon him. And he said, thus saith the Lord, this valley full of ditches. Full of ditches, the positive. You're thirsty, you're weary, you're seven days into dehydration. You are equipped, you're trained, but yet you're not able to fight your enemy. All because you're faint. And you hear the prophet tell you, you're gonna see greater works, but it's gonna take greater work. I know you haven't seen everything that you wanna see, and I know you're dehydrating your spirit, but if you'll just dig some ditches. Now, don't do it yet. You're messing my message. The prophet said, yeah, that's what I thought too, full of ditches. See how your spirit received that differently in a different atmosphere? Thank God for men and women that brought me words from heaven, but I thank God for a menstrual that changed the atmosphere so I could receive that word from heaven. I gotta shovel for you. Here's what you need to do. Watch, make this valley full of ditches. For thus saith the Lord, you're not gonna see the evidence. You're not gonna rely on the evidence. You're not gonna rely on the physical. You're not gonna see wind. You're not gonna see rain. Yet that valley shall be filled with water. It's almost as if God gets in the middle and he says, make this valley full of ditches. It's almost as if he steps out and he says, that valley will be full of water. God is in this moment, but he's also in the next moment. God is in this Saturday session when you are still empty and you are still dry and you are still questioning, but he is already in the next moment. Low place. You have the audacity to tell me that the word of the Lord is to drop my sword, pick up a shovel and dig a little deeper. I come to tell you, I hope I'm not too simplified today. You have the ability to turn a low place into a deep place. The Bible says that it was a valley. The Bible, when you look at the original meaning, says it was a river bed. It wasn't that the river wasn't there. Sometimes you just gotta wake up the river. Sometimes you've gotta get in the middle of the river bed and say, river, wake up. And if you don't wake up, I will dig you up. God was getting ready to arm you with a shovel. J.L. found a hammer and a tent peg. And she turned it into a weapon that destroyed the adversary. He found a tent peg, the very thing that held the tent up. And what held the tent up is the same thing that brought the enemy down, a tool into a weapon. What if God said, you're about to have an overflow? Water's about to come, but you're gonna have to work for it. Did not come from the heavens. The water flowed from beneath them. I'm telling somebody in the Holy Ghost, I don't care how deep of a hole you are in. I don't care how deep of a valley you're in. There's something deeper than your valley. I said, there's something deeper than your valley.
I remember being in service and the word came forth. And I began to break up the fallow ground of my heart. And then all of a sudden out of my belly, something started flowing. Isaac said, I'm gonna re-dig some wells. I'm gonna unstop some wells. You know what happened? He faced opposition. He faced territorial spirits. This is my well. Did not fight for the well because he had access to the flow. So they said, this is my well, but this is my water. They said, this is my well. So he went and dug again. And he went and dug again. And he went and he dug again. I refused to fight over wells when I have access to rivers. I refuse to fight you over penniness and the fence. I'll find another place because I've got a shovel and I'm dangerous.
I remember there being a Samaritan woman. She was coming to draw water, but living water was drawing her. She wasn't just coming to any well. She was coming to a well and had already been dug. And she, in her primitive spiritual ignorance, had the audacity to ask Jesus, don't have anything to draw with. And the well is deep. Deeper than your fears. It's deeper than your insecurities. It's deeper than your excuses. I'm just trying to tell somebody, some of you are going back home to valleys. But David, before Goliath ever got there, and before you ever got there, there was something flowing. There was something flowing. There was a brook. There was a stream. There was water flowing before you ever came to that valley. He said, I want you to make this valley full of ditches. Emptiness has to become capacity. Emptiness has to become potential. He said, as many ditches as you can dig. I'm not digging this trench. Has my detention. It's my retention. I gotta dig into the spirit. I gotta dig into the stony ground of my heart. I've gotta uproot some things. I've gotta move some things aside. Because the valley, he said, I want you to make this valley full of ditches. And then he said, that valley, that valley, that valley is gonna be full of water. They're about to drink from this water. And they're about to be hydrated by this water. They're about to be nourished by this water. Because some of you walked into a Wins Conference, walking into a valley, but you're gonna walk out a vessel. I'm speaking to some men and women of God. You walked in a valley, but you are about to walk out a vessel. You are about to carry everything that God has given you. You will not leave it here.
You see it for just a moment. The Bible says, the Bible says that there's a little maid. There's a little maid in Naaman's house. I gotta encourage somebody, because what God is about to do is gonna be spectacular. And it's gonna be seismic. But can I also tell you that God is gonna move little by little? He told his people in the Old Testament, he said, I'm gonna drive out the enemy. You know how I'm gonna do it? I'm gonna do it little by little. Never underestimate the power of a little. It was a little coat for Samuel. It was a little honey for Jonathan. It was a little cloud for G'hazai. It was a little cake and a little oil for the widow. It was a little chamber for the prophet. It was a little lad with fishes and loaves. And the Bible says that there is a little maid. As we've heard about this morning, who is a hostage and she is a slave, and yet she has more freedom than Naaman. A slave is about to teach Naaman how to be free. You could get to the prophet. If you could get to the land of Israel, you would find that the impossible can become possible. The Bible says that the letter is sent to the king. King receives the letter and he says, what is this? This fool is about to take us out. He's trying to hijack us. He's trying to set us up. He's telling us that Naaman is on his way. We can heal Naaman of his leprosy. Naaman has servants. He tells everybody what to do when they do it, but leprosy won't listen. Now he's desperate, but royalty does not have an answer for him. Earthly palaces do not have an answer for him. He must visit the king of kings and the Lord of lords for his answer. And the king has less faith than the slave girl. I'm trying to preach to somebody that's about to go home to a hostile environment. I'm trying to preach to somebody who's about to go home to a carnal environment. I'm trying to preach to somebody who's about to go back to a dry environment. She testifies about her God even as a hostage, alluding that she has a relationship with him because I don't think you can testify about a God you're mad at. I don't think you'll testify a God that you're jaded at. I don't think you'll testify about a God that you're cynical about. She still has her empathy. She still has her compassion. She still has her love for God. So much so that Naaman not only hears, but he heeds and now he is at the house of the same prophet. And this prophet is still in a bad mood. He's still savage because Naaman, Naaman has come, they're in their black suits and their black ray bands and their black earbuds. Move out of the way on all nine, Naaman coming through. Everyone's darting, everyone's leaving because the last time your boy came through, he killed everybody and who he did not kill, he took hostage. There ain't no welcome party for Naaman. Why is Naaman going to the prophet's house? Why is Naaman, oh God, the prophet's house, Naaman about the prophet's house. I heard he's about to die, thank God. Oh, don't be judging. It's the one who stole you and took you from your fam and your tribe and your Chick-fil-A was about to die. You would be putting on your shout now and use it. All right, keep judging me with your fake halos. Naaman does not deserve supernatural healing. But when did I deserve ministry? When did I deserve grace? When did I deserve mercy? When did I deserve in the favor of the God of the cosmos? I'm almost done, are you with me? The prophet comes out and he says, Naaman, so nice to meet you. He says, really not, don't kill me, please don't kill me. Please don't kill me. Naaman, sir, the prophet will not see you. He doesn't have a reason, he's just the prophet that doesn't want to see you. But he did say to go, sir, what did you tell me? Tell Naaman the murderer. Yes, Naaman the murderer, Naaman sir. I love you so much. Naaman, you're my bestie for the rest of you. I follow you on IG, you've been a fan for a long time. Go watch the movie Time to the Jordan River. Naaman is about to go, Naaman is about, Naaman, Naaman, Naaman is about to go home because of dirt. He's been through bloodshed, he's been through battles, he's been through wars, but he's about to miss, he's about to miss his miracle because of dirt. But he has somebody to provoke him. He has a servant that says Naaman, Naaman, Naaman, Naaman, Naaman, if the prophet would have asked you to do a great thing, you would have done it. See, I always thought that the Jordan River was too inconvenient, it was too easy. It's not that nobody could do it, it's that anybody could do it. And while this great conference has a theme called greater things, God's gonna ask you to do lesser things in order to receive greater things. Naaman had a buddy that would be real with him and say, bro, you better hear me. He would ask for 10,000 camels, you would have flexed. He'd ask for stock in Tesla, you would have granted it. You're not about to miss your miracle because it's too seismic, you're about to miss your miracle because what he asked you to do is too small. I'm telling you men and women of God in this room, you're about to hear things from that steel small voice. It's not gonna be so distant that you can't hear it. It's gonna be so close that you miss it, but you better heed that steel small voice. On a pole line, precepts, upon precepts, here a little, there a little. I believe in being radical, but sometimes it's easier to be radical than consistent. Just gotta be real. It's real easy for Landon in my humanity to binge prayer the week after Wynn's conference. But what if I don't pray again for the next 30 days? What is a seven day fast? If you don't come off of that fast, more spiritual and consistent. Hell does not mind if you pray three hours on Monday, if you don't pray again for another 30 days. Little by little, little by little, little by little. Just ask you to do a little thing. Just ask you to do a little thing. Naaman whose foot has lost in bloodshed is now afraid to put his big toe in the buddy river. Your pride is not logical. Pride is not logical. You know what Naaman said? He said, I thought that the prophet would have come out, placed his hand over the leprosy. And I thought this, and I thought that, and I thought that. You know what's been causing me to miss some miracles in 2023? Can I be transparent? It's because of what I thought would happen. But his ways are higher than my ways. His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. If the devil can get you into a diabolical, decadent, dark spiral of, I thought it should happen like this. And I thought they should have done this. You will miss higher thoughts. I'm gonna step into the muddy river, Jordan. I'm almost done. Are you with me a few more minutes?
Musicians come. I'm not done. I just want them to think I'm done. Let's fake them out together. I tell everybody what to do when they do it. I want you to step into the muddy river, Jordan, for me. Because salvation is personal. Revival is personal. Consecration is personal. You can't delegate a prayer life. You can't subcontract sacrifice. Stepping for yourself.
So he steps in once. Oh God, it stinks. The muddy river, are you in the muddy river, Jordan, with me? No. You're not. Will you get in the muddy river, Jordan, with me? Okay. Goes down ankle deep, knee deep, waist deep, shoulder deep. Oh God, I can't do this. Goes down once. Goes down twice. Goes down three times, four times. He's now done it more than he hasn't. And here's where North American Christianity is plopped. And here's where Pentecostals are seduced. I've done more than you. And I've done more than him. And I've done more. I do not have the luxury to bring the word of God down to my tradition, down to my dogma, down to what Granny believed, down to my cynicism, down to my doubts. I cannot bring the word of God down to my experience, but I can be raised in the newness of life and my experience can be read. Anything less than full obedience does not lead to full transformation.
Six times. The seventh time he emerges out. You can't see. Hand me the Nike towel. Hand me the Gatorade. I did it! But the servant can see what nobody else sees. The servant can see what name, name, name. Name it, name it, name it. My boy, name! Open your eyes. I can't open your eyes. I can't open your eyes. Open your eyes. All things are passed away. But hold, but hold. Look, look, look. You got your ear back, naming. Naming, you got your big toe back. You got everything that leprosy stole. Staying with me. He runs to the prophet. He said, can I, can I, can I, what can I give you? You got Apple Pay? You got Venmo? You got Cash App? Bitcoin? He said the prophet said, no, no, no. Can't pay for something that's priceless. You can offer yourself as a living sacrifice. You can give back to the kingdom, but you cannot pay for something that is priceless. It's all right. Can you come up here? Elijah here? Y'all come up, John. He said, are you sure you won't receive anything from me? No, okay, okay, this is what I need. I need, I need, I need two mules load of dirt. I need two mules loaded down with dirt. I just need two mules loaded down with dirt. You were just afraid of, you didn't have anything to do with until someone provoked you. Cause I'd rather have the dirt of Israel than the palace of my old life. I'd rather have the dirt of this holy ground and this holy place. I'm telling you, we are going to move on from this moment. But this moment will move on with us. He said, if you'll let me. I know, I know that there is no God in all of the land like the God of Israel. And when I go back home, I won't have a prayer life. And when I go back home, I'm getting rid of some idols. And when I go back home, if you'll just let me take out the shovel, I gotta take some of Wynn's conference with me. I gotta take some of this with me and my.
But that army of soldiers came an army of workers. And the Bible says that during the time of the meat offering, something began to flow from eat them, began to feel emptiness became capacity, void became potential. And the Bible says when the enemy looked, all the enemy could see. So what looked like blood? And the enemy said, they're fighting each other. They've turned on one another. Can you come to lock arms with me? Bible said that the sun was shining on that water. Because when you dig and go deeper, the sun begins to work on your behalf. You're not digging alone. You're not in a valley alone. And before you curse the sun for your dryness, you better give credit to the sun for the confusion of the enemy. Because the same sun that you may think is the reason you are in a dry, barren valley. It's gonna be the reason that the enemy only speaks what looks like blood. The enemy said they're fighting. Can we have a fight? No one's here to stop us. I mean, worse they could do is in the conference. The enemy said they're fighting. The enemy said they're fighting. They've turned on each other. It's the blood of their brothers and sisters. What the sun was hiding was that nobody was turning on each other. When you preach, I'll back you up. Will you tell me you baptized 25 people at your high school? I won't discredit you. I will validate you. Not gonna work against you. I'm gonna work with you.
I want you to come up to this front. Come up to this front. May the only bloodshed of our brothers and sisters be the rumors of a confused adversary. I'm gonna say it again. May the bloodshed and the death and the defeat after the Holy Ghost of our brothers, I've come to tell somebody it's a rumor. It's a rumor. I don't care what the devil's been saying about you. It's a rumor. It's a rumor. You didn't die in this valley. The enemy was propagating. They've dropped their shovels and they've picked up their swords. But I'm telling the enemy, I've dropped my sword and I've got a shovel and I'm dangerous because I'm going deeper. I'm not trying to go deeper than you. I'm trying to go deeper than the old me. I'm not trying to go deeper than you. I'm trying to go deeper than the yesterday satisfied Cardinal Minney. Hey devil, I've got a shovel. Help me, help me, Dick. Help me, Dick. Help me, Dick. Help me, Dick. I know you're weary. I'm tired. Can we dig together? Can we dig together? Come on. If you can't pray past your carnality, find a prayer partner. If you don't believe mom and dad can be saved, call me and I will dig with you. Put down the shovels. Put down the shovels. You got any buck? Can I have that bucket of water over there telling you what's about to happen? I think someone drunk for that. You gonna have this? You got any more? You gonna have this? Oh, can we have the cup? Can we have the cup? Yeah, this, yeah, this. Just hold the cup. No one knows that we didn't practice this. Oh, you got more water? Awesome, great. Yeah, you got another cup. Cool, it just improvised in the moment. Yes, yes, yes, yes. The Bible says at the time of sacrifice something started flowing. Something started flowing. Something started flowing. The worker is about to be the recipient. The worker is about to be refreshed. The servant, anybody remember when he turned the water to wine? Everybody didn't know it, but the worker's knew it. The servant's knew it. Sometimes the, sometimes the, sometimes the, come over here. Sometimes, sometimes the shovel is the greatest weapon you will hold. But there's gonna come a moment. There's gonna come a moment where you're gonna lay down the shovel. And there's gonna come a moment, wasn't the only one field, the soldiers drunk and were refreshed. I told you what the rumor was. The rumor was they had killed each other. The rumor was Ethan got envious of Landon and Landon got envious of Ethan and they done stabbed each other in the back and both died in the valley. Not where we died. It's where we became deadly. Because I told you what the rumor was. Here's what the real truth was. Moab was about to face a refreshed, hydrated army. It wasn't just the valley. Soldiers. I'm telling someone the Holy Ghost. I hope I'm not being too ADD. But I'm telling you right now, you walked in a valley, but you're walking out a vessel. I said you're walking out a vessel. I said you're walking out a vessel. You're going back home to work, but you're going back home to refreshing. You're going back home to rivers. I wish you had licked up your hands right now. I wish you would link with a brother and a sister right now. On this last session of wins, I feel a refreshing. I feel a refreshing. I feel a refreshing for every singer, for every musician. It's not just rumors.
I want you to hear me for just a moment. I want to read one scripture to you. And we're going to allow the wave of the Holy Ghost to come one more time. I want you to put Psalms 84 and 6 up there if you can. Psalms 84 and 6 if you can. Casting through the valley of Baca, make it a well. We'll also feel the pulse. Another translation says, when they walk through the valley of Weeping, it will be a place of refreshing springs. It will be an outpour, but before it comes down, it can also come up. You have the decision, whether it will be a valley or a vessel. I think I remember somebody named Joseph being thrown into a pit, but it was a cistern. It was a well. And the Bible says it was without water. For somebody, as long as there is no flow, the adversary can imprison you. But when there is a flow, that flow will bring you higher than unforgiveness. That flow will bring you higher than addiction. That flow will bring you higher than church. If you are a prisoner, prison. As if there's no water in it.
We're about to pray right now. We're about to call forth the water. I feel like an old well could spring up right now. I feel like somebody's on top of a river bed, saying, wake up, old river, wake up, old river. And we just pray one more time, passing through the valley. They're gonna erupt. Springs are gonna bubble.
Scripture references as spoken: 2 Kings 3; Psalms 84:6.
