Transcript of a published sermon by Macade, transcribed from YouTube. An attributed primary source — not Acts 2:38 Life doctrine text.
Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
A Stain Noticed
- Macade opens by noting this is his first time preaching and that he is sharing something God laid on his heart.
- A small scratch on his arm at home, unnoticed until he saw a stain of blood in bed, set him thinking about stains in general.
The Stained Wedding Dress
- He tells of a young bride who inherited a beautiful white family wedding dress, a treasure symbolizing purity and commitment, and accidentally spilled grape juice on it.
- Her own scrubbing only made the stain worse, and she brought the ruined dress to her grandmother in tears.
- The grandmother spoke only words of encouragement and wisdom — some stains are too deep to wash away ourselves — and knew of a cleaner who could restore the worst of stains.
- The cleaner took the garment without judgment and, by a special process, returned it in perfect condition, free of every blemish — cleaner than it had been in generations.
- Macade draws the lesson that we sometimes carry stains we did not even make, passed down from mistakes before us, and that God can wash away every stain, including those handed down through generations.
White as Snow: The Promise and the Call
- He reads Isaiah 1:18: though our sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow — a promise of salvation and becoming new.
- He reads Acts 2:38: repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- The stains of sin can seem small and easy to dismiss, yet they grow bigger and bigger, and we as humans cannot take care of them ourselves, however hard we try doing things our own way.
- His closing call: we need to give everything to Jesus and pray and let him cleanse us and make us new.

This is my first time preaching, so bear with me. What I'm going to share with you today is something God laid on my heart. After a very small incident at home, I didn't realize that I had a small scratch on my arm until I was in my bed and there was a stain of blood. Then I got to thinking about stains in general. Then I came upon this story. A young bride inherited a beautiful family wedding dress. It was pure white and to her it symbolized purity and commitment of marriage. One day as she tried on the dress, she accidentally spilled grape juice that caused a horrible stain. Sarah was heartbroken. She tried scrubbing the stain clean, but it only became worse. This family treasure that had sentimental value was ruined. Reluctantly, she took the wedding dress to her grandmother in tears. Sarah showed her the awful stain. Her grandmother had no harsh words for Sarah, only loving words of encouragement and wisdom. Oh, dear girl, some stains are too much too deep to wash away ourselves. The grandmother knew of a cleaner who could restore the worst of stains. He took the garment with no judgment toward the young and began working on the once beautiful and perfect white dress. He used a special process that cleansed the dress of the awful stain. When the dress was returned to the young lady, it was in perfect condition, completely free of any blemishes or stains. It was cleaner than it had been in generations. I love that last part. cleaner than it had been in generations. Sometimes we carry stains we didn't even make, passed down from mistakes before us. Can wash away every stain, not just ours, but even the one passed down from generations be before us. The Bible says, "Come now, let us reason together. The Bible says in Isaiah 1:18, "Come now and let us reason together, says the Lord. Thou your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Thrim, they shall be as wool. We have a promise of salvation and becoming new. Acts 2:38 says, "Then Peter said to them, repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sin, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." The stains of sin can seem small, and we can tell ourselves that it doesn't matter, that there's no need to worry about that little stain. The stains get bigger and bigger, and we as humans can't take care of it ourselves. But we try everything doing things our way. We need to give everything to Jesus and pray and let him cleanse us and make us new.
