Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

The welcome, the offering, and the honors

  • The host welcomes "brother Marrell Cornwell" (settled from the caption's "Merle corn well"; see packet.md) and takes up a cash offering, having the house turn to three people and say, "May the blessings of God be upon your life," then "I bless you in the name of the Lord."
  • Cornwell's own first words come as the offering closes: "Well, after a death there has to be a resurrection. Anybody feel like some preaching this afternoon?" He gives honor to the general superintendent, brother Haney, "whom I have great respect for and love very dearly," to his own district superintendent, brother Mike Kahn (caption form; see packet.md), to the district board, the general board, and the Because of the Times committee for allowing him to be here. Brother Jerry Wayne Dillon jokes that the only reason Cornwell is speaking is that he took the Manguns (caption form "maenge"; see packet.md) deer hunting. "There is no curses in Wichita. I have a good God, I have a good family, and I have good enemies." He loves the Mangan family (caption form) very dearly, and honors all the ministers who preach "this one God, Jesus name message."

The text: Psalm 137, and the progression of depression

  • He has the house open to "the Book of Psalms 137," notes that "uncle Jeffrey" (caption form; see packet.md) is going to read for him after a while, and begins reading at verse one himself: "By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof" — reading the whole psalm: the captors requiring a song and mirth (settled from the caption's "mercy"; see packet.md), "How shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?", the vow not to forget Jerusalem, and the judgment on the daughter of Babylon.
  • Then he traces "the progression of depression" in the first verse: first, "we sat down"; second, "we wept"; third, "we remembered Zion" — they remembered Zion, but they knew in their heart they would never see Zion again; and fourth, "we hanged our harps upon the willows." "When a Jew hung his heart upon the Willows, he was finished" (the caption's "heart" form stands here, as it does in several places where the sense is the harp — see packet.md on the heart/harp oscillation). "When you stop your singing, you are through — singing is the joy of the soul. We cannot hang our harps upon the willows and say we are finished." Then the question the rest of the sermon answers: what is the background — how did they ever get to the rivers of Babylon?

Scriptures: Psalm 137:1

How they got to Babylon: the history read aloud

  • At his direction the history is read aloud (see packet.md on the readers). From Second Chronicles 36, beginning at verse 5: Jehoiakim, who reigned eleven years in Jerusalem and did evil; Nebuchadnezzar bound him in fetters to carry him to Babylon and carried the vessels of the house of the Lord there; Jehoiachin (settled from the caption's "joy Caen"; see packet.md), eight years old, reigning three months and ten days; Zedekiah, who humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet and stiffened his neck; then the king of the Chaldeans (settled from the caption's "Cal V's") slew their young men in the sanctuary, burned the house of God, broke down the walls of Jerusalem, and carried those who escaped the sword away to Babylon, where they were servants to him and his sons — "history says that he took more than fifty thousand Jews captive with him unto Babylon."
  • From the Book of Jeremiah, chapter 25, verse 1: the word that came to Jeremiah from the thirteenth year of Josiah — "the word of the Lord had come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, but you have not hearkened"; the threat to "send and take all the families of the north" and Nebuchadnezzar "my servant" against the land; the voice of mirth and gladness taken away; the seventy years of serving the king of Babylon, and Babylon punished afterward, "saith the Lord, for their iniquity." When you read these passages, he says, you see two things: "the anger of the Lord against his people, and the anger of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon at the rebellion of the king of Judah against him."

Scriptures: 2 Chronicles 36:5; Jeremiah 25:1

Nebuchadnezzar's study — and the demoralization

  • Who is this Nebuchadnezzar? "He was the king of Babylon; he was the head of gold that Daniel is going to describe later on in his book." Babylon itself was some fifteen miles in circumference, ringed by two walls more than 325 feet high — the outer eighteen feet across at the top, the inner twelve, with a twelve-foot no-man's-land between: "if you conquered the first, then you had the no-man's land, and then you had to redo it in twelve feet to conquer the second wall." The first thing the 50,000 captives saw was those walls — and the fact that they would never go back home.
  • Nebuchadnezzar was "a political genius... an economic genius... a military genius... a historical genius": before he went against Jerusalem he studied Israel from one end of its history to the other. He knew about Egypt — two and a half million Jews emerging with no swords, no spears, no army, "because God decimated the nation of Egypt." He knew the sixteen judges and the whole cycle of the book of Judges: Israel rebels, God sends an enemy, Israel cries out, God raises up a judge, they live for God as long as the judge lived — "but let the preacher die, let the judge die, and friend, backsliding is coming again," sixteen times over. He knew Judah's nineteen kings and one wicked queen, and he studied the revivals under Hezekiah and Josiah. "I cannot fight against their invisible God. Their invisible God is stronger than Egypt; their invisible God is stronger than Babylon. How am I gonna conquer Israel and keep them captive all of their life?"
  • So he devised a plan: he tore down their temple stone by stone and their walls stone by stone, from 606 BC to 587 BC, and in the last battles he lined the road with the bloated, mutilated, decapitated bodies of Israel's dead soldiers — a thousand yards of them to the left and a thousand yards to the right — and marched the fifty thousand prime captives down that road. Anyone who held his head up and refused to give in was executed on the spot at the end of it. "Nebuchadnezzar had one thing going for him: he said, if I can demoralize them, I can prevent them from ever rising again. If I can demoralize them, I'll keep them from rebelling; they'll never rebel against me again." Against that he sets the word: "Rejoice not against me; though I fall seven times, I shall arise" (voiced without citation).

Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego — and Daniel

  • Among that demoralized group were Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. "When I was younger I'd preach Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego — the three Hebrew children that walked through the fiery furnace." But now the question: how could they not bow at the sound of the music, stand strong, hold their heads up high — see the ropes burn off and a fourth man in the fire like unto the Son of God, and not even the smell of smoke on them (settled from the caption's "smokers"; see packet.md) — "but you don't have enough courage to rebel against the king of Babylon and go home?"
  • Daniel the same: he prayed three times a day in Babylon with his windows open toward Jerusalem; they trapped him through his God, threw him into a den of lions, and he walked out — "the most majestic of all the prophets" — yet he did not rally Israel and go back to the Jerusalem he loved. "I tell you exactly why: they had been demoralized. When they walked through those bodies of dead soldiers and smelled the stench... he wanted them to get an eyeful of their bodies, because if I can keep them from ever desiring God and going back home, I'll do it. And so he completely demoralized them."
  • Then the turn to the house: "I don't know what kind of problems you got in your church; I don't care what kind of problems you got in your city — but I'm gonna tell you right now, I am not gonna let you be demoralized. I'm gonna tell you right now that God is about to send the greatest revival that this country has ever seen."

The numbers: an army that stayed slaves

  • He has brother Arnold (caption form in the reading asides; see packet.md) read Numbers for him — "read verse 1 of chapter one" — and the census is read aloud: the congregation numbered family by family, "every male by their polls" (settled from the caption's "poles"), from twenty years old and upward, "the young men that's able to make war": Reuben 46,500, Simeon 59,300, Judah 74,600 (Cornwell glosses it himself: "that's about seventy four thousand six hundred"), Zebulun 57,400, Ephraim 40,500, Manasseh 32,200, Benjamin 35,400, Asher 41,500, Naphtali 53,400 — Issachar's count stands garbled in the caption and is not relied on (see packet.md) — and verse 46's total: "six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men able to make war" (the reading's number garbles stand as captioned; see packet.md). "These are the ones that was in Egypt... that were captives by the Pharaoh himself."
  • It disturbed him, so he studied: somebody taught him "how to Google on a computer," and he typed in "ancient Egyptian armies." He found Ramses II, "who was the Pharaoh at the time that Moses went in and said, Let my people go" — "we hate that kind of man; we hate a man that stands alone and looks at the Devil's... eyes and spits on him and says, Let my people go." Egypt's whole army was 29,000 foot soldiers and 1,000 chariots manned by another 6,000. "And there were six hundred and three thousand men able to make war — and they stayed in Egypt until their babies died; they stayed in Egypt until they were persecuted; they stayed in Egypt until they were slaves. You know what happened? Pharaoh had demoralized them. And that's what the devil is trying to do here today: he's trying to tell you there's no use praying, no use teaching Bible studies, no use having revival. But the devil is a first-class liar."

Scriptures: Numbers 1:1

Ezekiel by the river Chebar

  • "Ezekiel, chapter number one, has a great verse 2": "In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, I was among the captives by the river Chebar" (settled from the caption's "Captiva"; see packet.md). Ezekiel looked around — "I'm paraphrasing," Cornwell says — and saw rusty harps hanging on the willows everywhere, men sitting in their chains crying in their soup, telling old stories about the revivals under Josiah and Hezekiah back in Jerusalem. "I want to tell you something, young man: I know we got our old fellas back there, but... we got to stand up and make our mark in this hour. Don't let anybody tell you that the days of revival are over; don't let nobody tell you that our best days are behind us. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm telling you, America is about to experience one of the greatest [revivals] that she's ever seen."
  • The prophet reckoned they had further to go than they had come — seventy years in all — so they might as well leave their harps on the willows to turn to dust. But Nebuchadnezzar "was not afraid of the preacher; he was afraid of the word-quoter — he was afraid of the Bible teacher; he was afraid of the bus ministry; he was afraid of the prayer warrior; he was afraid of the door knocker" (the first contrast settled from the caption's "prequel"; the caption's "word Toder" left standing — see packet.md).

Scriptures: Ezekiel 1:2

"We've already tried that" — and the bus in the ditch

  • He tells of being invited to preach a revival and sitting down with the pastor, his wife, and the committee to plan: "We need to do some outreach — I think we can get some free radio spots." The pastor's wife: "We've already tried that." A half-page ad: "We've already tried that." Handbills, knocking every door in the county: "We've already done that; it didn't work." Every suggestion met the same answer "until I realized that I was facing a table full of demoralized people" (settled from the caption's "P moralized people"; see packet.md). "Because you tried something ten years ago and didn't work doesn't mean that's not gonna work today."
  • And of the Sunday morning a police officer pulled in behind him: "You've got a bus turned over with 70 kids on it" (the children are nowhere named — see packet.md). Thirty ambulances, TV and radio everywhere — "oh my god, oh my god... what else do you say?" A smart-aleck reporter shoved a microphone in his face: "Well, I guess you'll quit running these old rickety buses now, won't you?" His answer: "As soon as I can get a wrecker and get this thing back on its feet, get the wheels fixed, the transmission fixed, the clutch fixed — we're gonna run it some more. We're gonna run it some more. We're gonna run it some more." And praise God, "there wasn't one scratch or one child [hurt]. You cannot be demoralized by the circumstances that you go through."

Prophesy to the bones

  • Ezekiel again — "the thirty seventh chapter of Ezekiel": a man with chains on his hands and legs, carried out in the Spirit and set down in the valley, a thousand yards of bones to the left and a thousand yards to the right. "And the Lord said to him, Hey Zeke, can these bones live? And he said, Lord, O Lord God, Thou knowest... God said, Prophesy to the bones." Preach to the boneyard: "The number one person that you need to preach to is your own self. David, when his men would be demoralized by Ziklag — that they had burned with fire — David encouraged himself in the Lord. He said, I will not be demoralized by the situation" (Ziklag settled from the caption's "Zeke leg"; see packet.md). And as he prophesied, the bones came together — "bone connected to the anklebone... and that was a rattling."
  • He warns the pastors not to demoralize their young preachers, and tells his own young-preacher stories: the revival that got him his general license though he never got a local one, because the pastor figured he couldn't preach for a local license but could "probably preach with" a general one; jumping up on top of the pulpit, pulling his coat off; preaching as a kid for brother Kenneth Haney in Stockton — dove off the pulpit, walked the backs of the pews, "and we had revival though, didn't we?" (settled from the caption's "survival"; see packet.md); the stone-dead service of 36 people where he dove, ran, knocked holes in the side walls, until the pastor called him down: "I want you to stand in that pulpit and preach, or I'm gonna nail your feet to the floor" — "I want you to nail my feet to the floor, because you gotta catch me before you can do it. If I can get you to move, we'll have revival." That night an old gray-headed lady started down the aisle, others followed, and in the next eight or nine nights 140 people received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. "I will not be demoralized by your dead church; I will not become demoralized by your negative attitude... I'm prophesying that revival is here."

Scriptures: Ezekiel 37

The grandparents: Reason and Lily

  • His grandfather — "his name was Reason Crips" (caption form; see packet.md) — was a one-legged preacher: a train cut his leg off, so he cut down an ash tree with a fork in it, put his knee in the fork, strapped it to his belt, and made a peg leg. Back in the '30s he had "one of the original bus ministries," though "he couldn't preach a lick." His wife's name was Lily, and "Lily was the one called to preach — but grandpa didn't believe in women preachers, so he wouldn't let her preach; made her sit back in the back" and lead the song service. Through the testimony time her rumbling would rise from the back — "Children, I got a little testimony here" — testifying that God had been good to her and was pouring out the Holy Ghost everywhere (her refrain stands in the caption's "I won't you know" forms; see packet.md) — and twenty minutes later: "Reason, you just keep on studying for your sermon, but I feel good, and I got to testify a little bit more"; and again: "Reason, you just sit there till it's your turn — it's testimony time, and I'm a testifying" — and she would preach hellfire and brimstone and the judgment to come, and the altar would fill with 25 or 30 getting the Holy Ghost, "and [then], now Reason, you can preach." He built seven churches that are still in existence in Louisiana today.
  • Cornwell himself, "as a small child," spent a summer with them: fifteen children, somewhere near a hundred first cousins. His grandfather felt the burden to build a church at New Hope, out by Sicily Island — but "my grandpa was blind as a bat, couldn't see, and my grandmother had good eyes, but the problem is my grandmother couldn't drive." "Lily, I got to build that church; I just got to build a church at New Hope. God called me to, Lily, and I just gotta go." "Well, Reason, you can't see." "But you can see." "But I can't drive." "I can." And in a '60 or '61 model Ford Falcon, his blind grandfather drove from Harrisonburg to Sicily Island — about twenty miles, across the narrow Black River Bridge — while his grandmother steered him by voice: "Honey, hold a little bit more to the left... a little to the right" — "and went there and built a church with his own hands. He would not allow his disability to demoralize him."

225,570 doors: the Wichita mailing

  • "A few months ago I got discouraged — believe it or not, I've already gotten discouraged; it didn't last long." Kansas has 105 or 107 counties, and more than three-fourths have no church at all; the state tree of Kansas, he jokes, is the telephone pole — "you can see into eternity from Kansas." He tells of taking brother Jerry Wayne Dillon pheasant hunting in western Kansas and the farmer who insisted the preachers come Friday night and stay at his house, fed them, and sent a farm hand to guide them: "people like that all over the state of Kansas — it's the friendliest state in America." But there are little towns and villages (their names stand in garbled caption forms; see packet.md) "that's never heard a Pentecost... they're not burnt-over fields," and somehow "we're obligated to reach them."
  • He prayed — "God, what can I do?" — and met Kate Dawson (named in full at both mentions), who runs Contemporary Communications, and asked her how many residential doors are in Wichita: 185,000 in the city; 225,570 in the metro area; 280,000 in the shopping area — 33 percent of the population of the state of Kansas. "When she told me that, tears started running down my face" (settled from the caption's "here's"; see packet.md). "My God, we can do it." He had her mail invitations to all 225,570 metro doors on one day — a flyer for First Pentecostal Church, "There's room in the house of God for everybody," naming five sermons he would preach in September ("I hadn't got them written up yet, but I put titles out, figured I'd preach"). "We mailed it the last Monday in August... it cost thirteen point one cent per door — that is cheap advertising."
  • The results, in that one month of September: 105 families visited First Pentecostal Church (settled from the caption's "first minute cost of church"; see packet.md), 15 families were added, and they got fifty new Bible studies. "I found out this: as long as the devil can demoralize you, you won't do anything" (the closing sentences of this passage stand in garbled caption forms — "candy more Elijah" — and are not relied on beyond this; see packet.md). He draws the Ezekiel moral in his own words: when the army stood up, Ezekiel took his harp out, dusted the ashes off, and began to play. "Take your harp off the willow — I command you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I command you to take your heart off the willow."
  • The follow-through: he and Kate Dawson are fixing to mail 280,000 fliers in one day; the church website had 311,000 hits last month, with more than 3,000 computers linked in on a Sunday morning; he mapped Wichita — about fifteen north-and-south thoroughfares and twenty east-and-west (settled from the caption's "Thor affairs"/"though affairs") — cut the map into some 225 squares on index cards, and preached until he had 400 volunteers, each to knock 200 doors in one Saturday: "we knocked 80,000 doors in a little over six and a half hours" (the caption's "$80,000" settled as doors by his own setup figures; see packet.md). "Soul-winning is not an individual effort; it takes the whole church to win a soul." And the text he hangs it on, quoted without citation: "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. You got to get condemnation out of your people — you gotta mobilize them; you got to get the demoralization out of them" (Romans 8:1's wording, not cited in the sermon — see packet.md).

The drug dog — and doing for those who cannot help you back

  • His son is a police officer on a high-level tactical team running drug raids, search warrants, and gang activity. The city has only two drug dogs for 600,000 people, always tied up somewhere else; a dog from Belgium costs over $10,000 (settled from the caption's "cups over") and has to go through the police academy — and the department would not put it in the budget. "Y'all want a dog?" "Yes, we want a dog." "Sold. Who do I send the check to?" He went to his church: "I need ten thousand bucks — all you got to do is pass the plate." They bought the dog, and the television came: "Reverend Cornwell, just how do you justify taking all that money out of church funds" (settled from the caption's "church phones") "and buying a drug dog?" "I did it because of young people... if that drug dog can sniff out one lump of cocaine or crack and keep one child out of my church off crack cocaine, it'll be worth every penny... if I can keep your son and daughter from having access to cocaine or methamphetamine because the drug dog sniffed it out, it'll be worth every dime you spend."
  • The president of the largest Protestant denomination (settled from the caption's "product denomination"; see packet.md) in the Kansas-Nebraska district called him in: "How can a Holy Roller church outgrow all of our churches?" Cornwell took him and his wife to one of his Bible studies — "give me your address" (settled from the caption's "give me a dress") — and then a second. At the end of the Bible study (settled from the caption's "Bible still") they had dessert and coffee, and the wife sat by Cornwell's wife with tears dropping on her blouse: "We didn't come here to enjoy this; we just come here to observe. But as soon as my husband dies, I'm gonna join your church."
  • Southeast High School's football team came to church and won every game from there on; two teenage girls (unnamed; see packet.md) came Sunday night clapping, tears rolling down: "My God, I've never been in anything so exciting in all my life — wait till my friends hear about this." Then the closing charge: "If you do not do something for someone that cannot help you back, you are nothing but a social club... I want to know what happened to the bus ministry in the United Pentecostal Church... We can't afford bus ministry in our church — how about use your Cadillac payment? Your Mercedes payment? Your Continental payment? Your fees at the golf course?" "That is exactly right — because of the time: the time demands that we do something for somebody that cannot help us back." They bought five new buses this year (settled from the caption's "five you busted"), giving them seventeen, with plans for five more this year and five more next — "because there are 15,000 kids in our church that couldn't come to church if they wanted to, because they have no rides; their parents are alcoholics or drug addicts and they go nowhere to church. I say, if we can reap them now, we can have revival tomorrow."
  • For Brother Haney's call for 10,000 Bible-study commitments: Scott Osborn (named in full) "has averaged 17 Bible studies a week for the last 26 years; he has taught more than 18,000 Bible studies in people's homes" (a conflicting per-week figure stands in the caption at the same passage; see packet.md). "I need 2,500 preachers and their wives to say, I will teach four Bible studies this year" — one every quarter, 2,500 times four is 10,000. He tells of the woman who came down the aisle and said "I don't like you" — "I don't like you either... you're meaner than a junkyard dog" — "Good; stay out of the garbage dump." "We're so used to preachers pleasing us, we don't want to be challenged anymore. Go ahead and hate me — I don't care whether you hate me or not — but you better do work for God." The sermon closes on the refrain it opened with: "Raise your hand; say, I'll teach four Bible studies" (settled from the caption's "for"; see packet.md) — and the last word: "Take your heart off the willow. Don't anybody move. The Holy Ghost is here. Don't anybody move. Let's let the Holy Ghost saturate us. Come on, preacher — let the Word of God take see" (the final verb stands as captioned; see packet.md).

never see Zion again and then the fourth step in this progression of depression was we hanged our harps upon the Willows in the midst thereof when a Jew hung his heart upon the Willows he was finished when you stop your singing you are through praise God singing is the joy of the soul praise God we cannot hang our harps upon the Willows and say we are finished praise God what what is the background how did they ever get to the rivers of Babylon and set down and weep and just remember and then hang their hearts upon the Willows in second chronicles chapter 36 and verse 5 Joakim was 25 years old when he began to reign and he reigned 11 years in Jerusalem and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God and against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and bound him in fetters to carry him to Babylon Nebuchadnezzar also carried the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon and put them in his temple in battlin verse 9 says Jehoiachin was 8 years old when he began to reign and he reigned 3 months and 10 days in Jerusalem and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord and verse 10 and when the year was expired King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon with the godly vessels of the house the Lord and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the Prophet speaking from the mouth of Lord and he also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar who made him swear by God but he stiffened his neck and he hardened his heart from turning of the Lord God of Israel and verse 17 says therefore he brought upon the king brought upon him the king of the Chaldeans who slew their young men with a sword in the house of their sanctuary and had no compassion upon the young men our maiden old man or him that stooped for age he gave them all into his hand and all the vessels of the house that God great and small and the treasures of the house Lord and the treasures of the King and of his princes and all these he brought to Babylon and he burned the house of God he break down the walls of Jerusalem and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof and them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon where they were servants to him and his sons under the reign of the kingdom of Persia history says that he took more than fifty thousand Jews a captive with him unto Babylon in the Book of Jeremiah chapter 25 and verse 1 the word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah that was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon the which Jeremiah the Prophet speaking of the people of Judah knew all the inhabitants in Jerusalem saying from the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah even at this day that it is the three and twentieth year the word of the Lord had come to me and I have spoken to you rising early and speaking but you have not hearkened and the Lord has said unto you all his servants the prophets rising early and sending them but you have not hearkened nor inclines your ear to hear they said turn you again now every one from his evil way but evil of your doing that dwell in the land that the Lord has given unto you and your father's for ever and ever and go not after other gods to serve them and worship them and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hand and I will do you no hurt you have not hearkened unto me saith the Lord that you might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts because you have not heard my words behold I will send and take all the families of the North saith the Lord and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon my servant and will bring them against this land against the inhabitants thereof and against all these nations round about will utterly destroy them and make them an astonishment and a hissing and a perpetual desolations look at verse number 10 I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness the voice of the bridegroom the voice of the bride the sound of the Millstone in the light of the candle and this whole land shall be a desolation and an astonishment and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years and it shall come to pass when 70 years are accomplished that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation saith the

Lord for their iniquity and the land of the Chaldeans and make it a perpetual desolations when you read these passages of Scripture you see two things number one you see the anger of the Lord against his people and you see the anger of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon at the rebellion of the king of Judah against him just exactly who is this Nebuchadnezzar to begin with first of all he was the king of Babylon he was the head of gold that that Daniel is going to describe later on in his book the city of Babylon I know you know a lot about the city of Babylon but the circumference of the city of Babylon was about 15 miles in circumference it was encompassed about by actually two walls that were more than 325 feet high the outer walled measured 18 feet across at the top and the inner wall measured about 12 feet across at the top and there was a 12 foot no-man's land in between those walls if you conquered the first then you had the no-man's land and then you had to redo it in 12 feet to conquer the second wall babblin was a very large city it was a very imposing situation for the children of Israel and when he brought those 50,000 captive to Babylon the first thing they saw was the walls of Babylon and the fact that they would never again get to go back home praise God before Nebuchadnezzar every win against Judah you have to understand he was a political genius he ruled the entire known world from that fortress called Babylon he was an economic genius he was a military genius he was a history of scholar and so before he went against Jerusalem after they had rebelled against him he studied Israel from one end of their history to the other he knew what happened in Egypt he knew that there was an invisible force that brought the Israelites out of Egypt they had no swords no Spears no army and yet two and a half million Jews emerged out of Egypt because God decimated the nation of Egypt praise God and typical Nezzer studied that inside and out he knew and understood the sixteen judges of Israel he had studied the scrolls and the writings of the Jews he knew that Israel would rebel against their God quote unquote and that that when they rebelled against God and they back slid then God would send an enemy and they would conquer the the Israel and after hard bondage of Israel would get on their knees and cry out to God and when Israel cried out to God they knew that God was going to send a deliverer and so God would raise up a judge and he would lead the people of Israel out of their bondage and they would live for God as long as the judge lived but let the preacher die let the judge die and friend backsliding is coming again and so they would backslide and then they would get in hard bondage and God would send of someone to capture them and after hard bondage they would get on their knees again they would cry out to God and God would raise up another deliverer and and they would they would have their freedom again and they would live for God as long as the judge lived and that gets old because it's repeated exactly the same way 16 times in the book of Judges and and Nebuchadnezzar knew every battle that Israel had ever fought praise God he was a historical genius and he was a military genius he also knew that Judah had 19 kings and one wicked queen he knew that the nation of Israel had had 19 kings he knew their down sittings and their uprisings he knew that there was a revival under Hezekiah and there was a revival under Josiah and he studied the revival of Josiah and he studied the revival of Hezekiah and he said you know if I'm going to go against Jerusalem and I'm going to bring 50,000 back to Babylon with me I've got to do something he said I cannot fight against their invisible God their invisible God is stronger than Egypt their invisible God is stronger than Babylon how am I gonna conquer Israel and keep them captive all of their life Oh hallelujah

and so Nebuchadnezzar devised a plan when he went against Jerusalem he tore down their temple stone by stone he tore down their walls stone by stone he slew every man and woman and boy and girl that he could possibly find he completely destroyed the army of Israel and Judah he completely destroyed them over a course of years from 606 BC to 587 BC he decimated them but in the last battles when the King had rebelled against him it made Nebuchadnezzar so angry that he took all of the dead soldiers of Israel and he lined the road with their bloated mutilated and decapitated bodies for a thousand yards to the to the left of the road was nothing but the bloated mutilated bodies of the dead soldiers of Israel on the right when they look there was a thousand yards of nothing but the dead bloated mutilated stinking bodies of the army of Israel and he took fifty thousand of the prime captives and he marched them down the road through the bodies of the dead soldiers the historians say that when they looked to the left all they could see with the mutilated bodies of the soldiers and their wives and children and men and women can you imagine walking a mile and a half and seeing nothing but the mutilated bodies of your brother and your sister and your soldiers and there's not one standing soldier anywhere around the army of Nebuchadnezzar war scars around their noses and they made 50,000 of them march through that bloated bodies of the armies of Israel and everyone as they march through that road through those bodies they hung their head and when they hung their head they could march on but if that was one that dare defile Nebuchadnezzar and he held his head up high and he refused to give in when he got to the end of the bloated bodies there was a soldier of Nebuchadnezzar there and he was executed on the spot and throat among the dead bodies and the fifty thousand men and women and children that left out of Jerusalem that day as they marched through those bodies when they got through they bowed their head you'll see Nebuchadnezzar had one thing going for him he said if I can demoralize them I can prevent him from ever rising again if I can demoralize them I'll keep them from rebelling they'll never rebel against me again Oh hallelujah oh that it'll be rejoice not against me though I fall seven times I shall arise praise God you know what is strange about this is that he had so demoralized them and among that group was was a Shadrach and Meshach and Abednego I love Shadrach I love Meshach I love Abednego when I was younger I'd preach Shadrach Meshach and Abednego the three Hebrew children that walked through the fiery furnace praise God now I gotta ask you a question how could Shadrach Meshach and Abednego not bow at the sound of the music and stand strong hold their head up high and they turned the furnace up seven times hotter that when they throwed Shadrach Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace it destroyed those that threw him in and and and when I hit the fire that ropes burned off the Bible said the King looked in the furnace and that was not three in the fire but that was a fourth man like another son of God Oh for years and years Shadrach Meshach and Abednego was my hero and I don't mean 2d hero anybody today but I want to ask you a question how can you walk through a fiery furnace and have the fourth man in the fire with you but you don't have enough courage to rebel against the king of Babylon and go home well y'all missed a good one on that how can you how can you have such a miracle

and you remember Zion and your harps upon the Willows and your weeping all the time and yet you will not bow down to their gods and yet you stand strong in the city of Babylon and God walks to the fire with you that not even the smell of smoke on you but you don't have enough courage when you come out of the fire and you can rally the troops and say let's get our hearts up off the willows let's stand up praise God let's create our weeping and let's go home again praise God you know why because they had been demoralized that was nothing back home to go to or so they thought and then there's Daniel oh I love Daniel he is a sweetheart praise God and he prayed three times a day in Babylon and they tried to accuse him and said well we got to attack him through his God to his beliefs and so they made a creature can pray to any other God and so Daniel winners before opened the window up towards Jerusalem and he prayed three times a day praise God and they came and got him and they thrown him into a den of lions praise God now I don't know about you but a lion is a lion I don't care if they're old and roaring and don't have any teeth I'm still scared of them praise God and when a king called Daniel he said has the Lord sent his angel protection he said live forever O king I'm all right and how could Daniel the most majestic of all the prophets how could he go to a den of lions and walk out has a leader of Israel and not rebelled against the king of Babylon and go back to the city of Jerusalem that he loved I tell you exactly why they had been demoralized when they walk to those bodies of dead soldiers and they smell the stench of the rotten purification they helped our noses and a wit would come across their back they had to put their hand down heavy Quezon wanted him to smell their bodies he wanted him to get an eyeful of their bodies he said because if I can keep him from ever desiring God and going back home I'll do it and so he completely demoralized them I don't know what kind of problems you got in your church I don't care what kind of problems you got in your city but I'm gonna tell you right now I am NOT gonna let you beat demoralize I'm gonna tell you right now that God is about to send the greatest revival that this country has ever seen hang on I know where I'm going you can be seated brother Arnold I won't you find numbers for me read verse 1 of chapter one and the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness Sinai Lord spoken to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai in the tabernacle of the congregation all right on the first day of the second month in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt saying take you the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel after their families by the house of their fathers with the number of their names and names every male by their polls from twenty years old and upward from 20 years old and up and I want you a number the young men that's able to make war able to go to war I want you to number Israel I want to know how many soldiers I got now if I understand right that when they walked out and counted these numbers they had the same numbers in Egypt for almost four hundred and thirty years reread those other verses that I gave to you and those that were numbered of them even in the tribe of Reuben were forty and six thousand and five hundred forty thousand five hundred those that were numbered of this tribe of Simeon were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred fifty nine thousand three hundred those that were numbered of them of the tribe of Judah with rescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred that's about seventy four thousand six hundred those that were number two even to the tribe of Issachar 450 and four thousand and four hundred thousand four hundred those that were numbered of the tribe of Zebulun were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred into seven thousand four hundred those that were numbered even to the charm of ephraim were forty thousand and five forty thousand five hundred those that were numbered of them in the tribe of Manasseh were thirty and two thousand and two hundred thirty two thousand two hundred those that were neither these are men twenty years old and older able to make war it's not the nineteen year olds or the eighteen year olds that's able to make war that's not those have got an ingrown toenail and a crooked arm that's nose that's able to

carry a sword and a spear right right that's able-bodied men I feel a preaching spirit coming on here praise God read some more brother Arnold praise God and those that were numbered even the tribe of Benjamin with thirty and five thousand and four hundred thirty five four read some more those that were number two the tribe of Asher were 40 and one thousand and five hundred forty one five those that were number two the tribe of Naphtali were fifty and three thousand and three thousand and four hundred read verse 46 let's get the number here praise even of all that we're numbered was six hundred thousand and three thousand and five six hundred three thousand five hundred and fifty men able to make war these are the ones that was in Egypt these the ones that sent by the fleshpots these are the one that were captives by the Pharaoh himself and you know that that disturbed me so I got to do a little studying and somebody taught me how to Google on a computer and so I pulled Oh brother Google up and I typed in ancient Egyptian armies I wanted to know I could just fathom how large the army of Egypt was I mean there's six hundred and three thousand able-bodied men of war among the children of Israel and they had probably been 10 million Egyptian to keep them captive but you know what that was not the case a little article came up ancient Egyptian armies and I scroll down until I found ramses ii who was the Pharaoh at the time that moses went in and said let my people go praise God we hate that kind of man we hate a man that stands alone and looks at Devil's granite eyes and spits on him and said let my people go and I found out that they had twenty nine thousand soldiers bearing sword and spear that's all of the army each had they had they had one thousand chariots that were manned by another six thousand soldiers to man one thousand chariots they had a thousand chariots and twenty nine thousand foot soldiers and there were six hundred and three thousand men able to make war and they stayed in Egypt until their babies died they stayed in Egypt until they were persecuted they stayed in Egypt until they were slaves you know what happened Pharaoh had demoralized them and that's what the devil is trying to do here today he trying to tell you they no use praying they know you teach and Bible studies that know you Kevin revival but the devil is a first-class liar hallelujah hallelujah and then something peculiar happens I didn't think nothing about this old boy and a lot of read that verse Ezekiel chapter number one has a great verse 2 it praise God it said in the thirtieth year in the fourth month in the fifth day of the month I was among the captives by the river Chebar as I looked around I'm paraphrasing I saw rusty hearts hanging on the Willows everywhere men were sitting down in their chains and they was crying in their soup praise God and they were telling old stories about how we used to have revival how there was old Josiah back in Jerusalem and how there was no Hezekiah back then I want to tell you something young man I know we got our old fellas back there but in a 10 we got to stand up and make our mark in this hour don't let anybody tell you that the days of revival are over don't let nobody tell you that our best days are behind us ladies and gentlemen I'm telling you America is about to experience one of the greatest are waiting that she's ever seen in the 30th year in the fourth month in the fifth day the Prophet said we're going to be in balance seventy years and we got further to go than what we've already come so we might as well leave our harps upon the Willows and they turn into dust

but while Ezekiel was by the river staring at the harps historians say that the prophets had chains on their feet and on their legs you see Nebuchadnezzar was not afraid of the preacher he was afraid of the word Toder praise God he was afraid of the word quoter he was afraid of the Bible teacher he was afraid of the bus ministry he was afraid of the plant warrior he was afraid of the door knocker praise God I was asked one time to come preach a revival and so I went and met with a pastor and his wife and his committee that was organizing the revival we had a supper together and we've got our pads out so now we need a plan for this revival and I said no we need to do some outreach I said I think that we can get some free radio spots and the pastor's wife welcomed said we've already tried that it started in my feet and I said I think we ought to put a half-page ad it won't cost us that much and she said we've already tried that and I said I think we ought to get some handbills we ought to knock every door in the county and she's spoken to said we've already done that it didn't work and I named several other little things that we ought to do and every time I'd say something she said we might have tried that it doesn't work and I realized that I was facing a table full of demoralized people praise God because you tried something ten years ago and didn't work doesn't mean that's not gonna work today I pulled in to the church one Sunday morning and there was a police officer pulled in behind me and turned the cashbox on little lights went off and he jumped out of the car he said are you the Reverend I said yes sir I am he said come with me I said oh my god I said what did I do he said you ain't done nothing he said you've got a bus turned over with 70 kids on it hey if you don't think your heart can drop down into your stomach let a police officer you got a bus turned over in the ditch with 70 kids on it and so I got in the car with him we headed down there that was TVs radio stations ever caught the county was there red lights are going off they must have had 30 ambulances there can I thought oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god what else do you say and they started shoving microphones in my face and and and started asking me all kind of questions and one smart-aleck reporter shoved that microphone on my lips he said well I guess your crit running these old rickety buses now won't you and it started in my feet I said as soon as I can get a record and get this thing back on his feet and get the wheels fixed and the transmission fix and the clutch fix until we gonna run it some more we gonna run it some more we're gonna run it some more I praise God that there wasn't one scratch or one child praise God you cannot be demoralized by the circumstances that you go through eally moja shotta what that means listen to another tape we've got further to go than what we've come now I know that Jesus can come back before I get through preaching I know

that but just in case he doesn't I'm gonna occupy I tell me calm hallelujah we got pastors here that are just starting whole mission churches we got passes here that's running 30 and 40 and 50 and 75 and 100 hundred fifty and two hundred and three hundred and five hundred and thousand two thousand and three thousand I'm talking to all of you it's time for the church to double its size praise God hold on a minute hold on a minute hold on a minute I'm not talking about doubling in a decade I've talked about doubling in one single revival I'm tired of people trying to protect me from failure you cannot protect me and from failure they'll never do anything as long as you protect them from failure he is the principal bc for 30 seconds only zeke out there by the willows expecting the hearts took here that mother's cloak click-click click-click out of tune mud will hang man on harp but he had an out of the body experience whoa I like who was the nail him he had out of the body experience got chained on his hands chained on his legs rattling everywhere he goes and the Bible said that he was carried out in the spirit in thirty seventh chapter of Ezekiel as he was by the rivers of Babylon and that sucker landed right square damn in that road in that Valley he looked to the layout there was a thousand yards of bones he looked to the right and that was a thousand yards of bones ah and the Lord said to him hey Zeke can these bones live and he said Lord O Lord God down no what's he even saying I don't have a clue and you know what Alleluia God said prophesy to the bones sit down thirty Seconds preach to the bones you see I don't understand how you've done that you ain't never been in which the song Sunday morning heavy I hate that church with a passion we are designated song leaders we have designated musicians why don't we have designated our runners why don't we have designated chowder's why don't we have designated jumper praise God oh oh that that would be way too charismatic it ain't got nothing to do with denominationalism he said candide bonemeal he said Oh Lord God I know us he's not saying what you do but he just preached to the bones amen and he read back I mean he was by himself see I mean his peers weren't there nobody was there praise God and he started preaching to the bone yard the number one person that you need to preach to is your own self David when his men would be demoralized by Ziklag that they had burned with fire David encouraged himself in the Lord he said I will not

be demoralized by the situation I don't think mother Haney that we gotta wait ten years to double the number of preachers are in the United Pentecostal Church I believe that God can baptize a thousand you preachers with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the call of God preacher quit demoralizing your young people twenty bar lies in you young preacher the Bible said that the bombing started coming together flip bone connected to the anklebone and come on connected to the leg bone leg bone connected to the knee bone and the bone started coming together and that was a rattling praise God they see if thirty seconds I was preaching north south east and west of here for a fact that revival got me my general license and I never got local license and I miss my local license they figured I couldn't preach for a local license in general license I could probably preach with but I went to preach a revival and the preacher pastor put his hand in his pocket leaned on the pulpit like he was tired or half dead or paralyzed or just an idiot well and the ham brother Cornwell here he didn't rip it he didn't bring over a Bible in his suitcase and and I was young and stupid and now I'm just old don't tell me something can't be done because by the grace of God I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength if you ask anything in his name he said I will do it I found that except I jumped up and grabbed the microphone to him jumped up on top of the pulpit pull my coat off voted at the congregation quit fussing at your church because they don't shout just shout by yourself I get lots of requests but I say anyway hallelujah if your church is dead quit fussing at your people and laughing it up I never did lose a text by shouting I walk can you believe I was a kid preaching brother Kenneth Haney in Stockton and I jumped if I'm tough the pulpit preach dove off the pulpit landing on floor my momentum carry me to the front pew I jumped up on top the front pew and walk the back the pews and the Red Sea parted we had revival though didn't we when if you ain't got nothing to preach and make up fart with a shout praise God whatever you do whatever you go through don't allow the devil to demoralize you don't let him paralyze you BC for 30 seconds I I started preaching this revival and they were 36 people settled a front for pews of that that church and and and they didn't move a muscle and the pastor slashed over in his chair and I jumped and screamed and dove off the pulpit and run from side to side knocked holes in the side wall run across knock holding the other side wall jump up on top the Pew walk the back the pews I hit the back door and almost broke the glass out the back door come running back down the aisle and finally the preacher had enough of it he said come here he said I want you to stand that pulpit and I want you to preach or I'm gonna nail your feet to the floor I had a brush Arbor spasm he said what's wrong with you I said I want you to nail my feet to the floor because you gotta catch me before you can do it if I can

get you to move will have revival I'm not gonna let any devil in hell out of hell and anywhere else called me untied me demoralized why we are too close to the end to be paralyzed and so that night I jumped off the pew of the pulpit hit the center I'll walk the back the jumped off the back started heading back down the aisle and it's one old gray-headed lady she got out of the pew and she started walking toward him she was going awful slow I finally passed her up praise God and about the time somebody else came out a few in the next eight or nine nights a hundred and forty people received the baptism of the Holy Ghost praise God I will not be demoralized by your dead Church I will not become demoralized by your negative attitude I will not be demoralized I don't care how big your town is or how big your city is God said I'm gonna stand revival and I'm prophesied that revival is here hallelujah God said prophesy to the bones he prophesied to the wind excuse me the flesh the seniors came back in and and he said Ezekiel who are these fellows he said O Lord God thou knowest he come Oh tell you who they are this is the whole house of Israel they say they say there's too many things mayor's around here praise God hallelujah pastoring a burn over field you don't know what a burn over field looks like you got that right my grandfather his name was reason Crips one-legged preacher he got got on a train cut his leg off so he cut down an ash tree with a fork in it putting a pill in the fork put his knee in it and strapped it up to his belt and made a peg leg and my grandfather back in the 30s had one of the original bus ministries praise God he couldn't preach a lick Isaiah was easier Nebuchadnezzar was never Nezzer his wife's name was Lily and Lily was the one called a priest but grandpa didn't believe in women preacher so he wouldn't let her preach made her sit back in the back let me having song service and Grandpa be sitting on a front row with that peg leg off because it kind of wore sores on his knee and and be said in this Bible they couldn't read they have a test amount of service that's while you hear rumbling back in the back and Lily would stand up between the pews and say children I got a little testimony here oh I won't you know that God had been good to me I won't you know that God has been good to a community from thank God it's just pouring out the Holy Ghost everywhere and she's starting to testify about 20 minutes later grandpa say Lily that's enough she'd stop saying now reason you just keep on studying for your sermon but I feel good and I got a testify a little bit more and sits at in to testify for 20 more minutes and grandpa would say Lily I said sit down send the reason you just sit there till it's your turn it's testimony time and I'm a testifying and should preach Hellfire and brimstone and the coming of the Lord and the judgment to come and the altar would fill up 25 or 30 getting the Holy Ghost and seizing a reason now you can preach he built seven churches that are still

in existence in Louisiana today praise God and don't tell me he would not be demoralized my leg wasn't there or because he couldn't read as long you got lilian jesus never paint gonna be all right preacher's wife you cannot be demoralized by anything get your husband up and take we got a meal hey Church for Jesus be seated Maya I had the opportunity as a small child to spend a summer with my grandmother and my grandfather now you have to understand my grandfather grandmother had 15 children that's why they got the bus ministry I have somewhere in the neighborhood a lot of go to the church right here in Alexander I have somewhere the neighborhood of 100 to first cousins my mother had 11 or a Youngblood had 11 or 12 Sadie Fay had a bunch of them ain't levy had a bunch of them man we had kids I mean grandpa thought he had to fulfill the Bible go and replenish the earth so he tried to do it by itself and I'd stand when some of my grandpa and he felt burdened to go out of Sicily Island a place called New Hope something I'll know what New Hope is you can't get there from here but it's there now the problem was my grandpa was blind as a bat couldn't see and my grandmother had good eyes but the problem is my grandmother couldn't drive this can only happen in Catahoula or Franklin parish and so he said Lily I got to build that church I just got to build a church at New Hope God called me to Lily and I just gotta go well reason you you can't see he said but you can see but I can't drive I can and so help me God in a 60 model or 61 model Ford Falcon grandpa drove from Harrisonburg all the way over to Sicily Island about what 20 miles or so about 20 miles couldn't see a lick grandma said honey hold a little bit more to the left little more than a little to the right a little to the right cross the Black River Bridge at Harrisonburg a narrow bridge my god is one of the eggs sold stacked up ten feet deep and went there and built a church with his own hands he would not allow his disability to demoralize him I don't care what kind of excuse you've got I'd go on demoralize you tonight God said build a revival church and he means it now praise God few months ago I got discouraged believe it or not I've already gotten discouraged it didn't last long but I got discouraged and I started telling our church I said we got we got to reach every body we can reach you see there there's a hundred and five or one hundred and seven counties in Kansas and more than three-fourths of the counties in Kansas have no church Kansas is about the 10th 11th largest state in the Union ninety thousand square miles the state tree of Kansas is the telephone pole you can see into eternity from Kansas there's all kinds of communities friendly communities I took brother Jerry Wayne Dillon one time we went out the western Kansas pheasant hunting and and and and he met some of the people and some of the kindest people in the world I had about nine of ten preachers come in one time and took him out the old western Kansas and and I went out and to find some property to hunt on and knock on his door and farmer met me and I said I got a group of preachers coming in from all around the country and we need a place to fast huh could we hunt on your farm he said y-yeah I said y'all come hunt on my farm and he said what time y'all

gonna get here I said we'll get here about daylight Saturday morning he said what said you can't come in Saturday morning said you got to come in Friday night I said there's not a hotel or Roach Rhian nowhere around this place he said well I don't want you stay in a hotel so we want y'all to come to my house I said you don't know us he said oh he said anybody's got courage to stop me asked me probably a pretty good person and so we got there about four o'clock for afternoon his wife had a spread didn't know what's from Adam fed us and had all of us bandstand in their basement got us up next morning huge breakfast called one of his farm hand said I want you guide these fellows to make sure they get plenty of pheasant praise God and and and just people's like that all over the state of Kansas it is the friendliest state in America praise God I think what it was it's been so long since I've seen anybody they just wanted somebody to talk to there's places like Sufis Ville nobody's ever heard of Sufis veal or Medicine Lodge or Attica or Argonia it's just small farm communities dotted all over the countryside and and and and I'm sure that but brother kun I won't try to persuade him to suspend fifty thousand dollars and let's send a man to soup peas veal it's got 47 people populated and we got people there little towns and villages that's never heard a Pentecost that's not burnt over fields go to their dead cold driest churches until the churches have dried up and there's no longer going to anywhere to church but yet somehow we're obligated to reach them and I said God what can I do what can I do God what can I do I got down and I prayed and I met a woman her name was Kate Dawson and she runs contemporary communications I set up how many how many residential doors is in Wichita she said there's a hundred and eighty five thousand doors in the city of Wichita Kansas I said what about the metro area she said there's two hundred and twenty five thousand five hundred and seventy doors in the metro area said now in the shopping area there's two hundred and eighty thousand residential doors which represents 33 percent of the population of the state of Kansas and when she told me that tears started running down my face my feet got the holy ghost all her again I jumped up my said my god we can do it she said what are you talking about I said I said I want you to do a mailing for me she's alright she said how many you want to mail - I want to mail to 225 thousand five hundred and seventy doors and I want to do it all in one day's time I want to put two hundred and twenty-five thousand invitations in the mail at the same time and so I worked with a computer expert and I got me up a nice little flyer here and says first Pentecostal church and says there's room in the house of God for everybody praise God to invite you to join us I'm gonna be preaching on five sermons in the month of September and I name the sermons and and put I hadn't got them written up yet but I put titles out figured out preach praise God and we mailed in at the last Monday in August they truck 225 thousand five hundred and seventy goes to the post office it cost thirteen point one cent per door that is cheap advertising and you know what the postman had to open that mailbox and put it in the mailbox and in the month of September we had 105 families that visited First Pentecostal Church in the month of September in the month of September alone we added to the church 15 families in the month of September alone to the house of God we took week we got fifty new Bible studies in the month of September alone let me tell you something I found out that is long in the devil candy more Elijah you won't do anything but when he's positive the more Elijah stand up and take devil get behind me I'm marching forward

when Ezekiel when that army stood up when that army stood up and God said this is the whole house of Israel they say our hope is lost that we're cut off from our part and we're never gonna go home all of a sudden you think Allah had another body experience he went back into his body he was in the same chains rattling by the same trees he took his harp out he dusted the ashes off of them and began to play he gripped hearts off the Willows and throw them the hands of his lights in play boys they're not gonna take our song they're not going to be moralize not we're going home and we're going home intact Ezekiel gone single handedly what Daniel could not do and Shadrach Meshach and Abednego could not do because he had an out of the body experience take your harp off the willow I command you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I command you to take your heart off the willow Kate Dawson are now working and we're fixing not to mail out 280,000 fliers in one day we advertise our website on our website we broadcast our services live and last month we have three hundred and eleven thousand hits on our website more than three thousand computers was linked to our church on Sunday morning praise God if we cannot send a preacher I'm still going I think we cannot send a preacher I'm still going let me paint something we have not yet seen what God wants to do in America and in your city be seated from I got about five more minutes praise God hallelujah and around the world did you know that in Louisiana that there is 1 million residential doors in the state of Louisiana a hundred and thirty thousand dollars you could send a mailer to everybody in the state of Louisiana you say I don't have $130,000 you can you get unity and you get the spirit of moving and you can raise that in a New York second praise God and you can mail to everybody in the state of Louisiana and stir the state up and say there is an apostolic Pentecostal Jesus name one god revival I wonder if they'd put that grin on the screen for me one day I got a map of which son that's the mouth of Alexandria but I got a map of Wichita now look at it and there's about 15 north and south thoroughfares and there's about 20 East and West thoroughfares so I got me a black magic marker and I made me a grid every Main Street east and west every North and South Main Street and I got to looking and I I got it last pair of scissors and I cut that thing up and I took each one of those squares of that map and I put it on a postcard on a on an index card I put the north south east and west boundary on it and I ended up with about 225 squares and I thought I wonder I just wonder what we could do just I'm not gonna the devil demoralize me what what can we do and so I started preaching the church was gonna knock every door in the city of Wichita I said I need some volunteers and after begging pleading threatening cussing swearing I had 400 volunteers that told me that give me one day one give me one Saturday you see soul-winning is not an individual effort it takes the whole church to win a soul you may take the Bible study somebody else may create the atmosphere somebody else may lay hands on and praise God somebody else may encourage them but when the whole church is involved in soul-winning it makes a big difference praise God there's no big eyes and little use in Pentecostal we need to understand that we're all in this thing together roll your sleeve on top of your fist at the devil and take get behind the devil and so on one Saturday I said I want everybody knocking 200 doors and so we got a flyer and we knocked 80,000 doors

80,000 doors 80,000 doors in little over six and a half hours praise God let me taste a bit revival breakout or what there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit you got to get condemnation out of your people and how do you do that you got it mobile you gotta mobilize them you got to get the demoralization out of them amen my son is a police officer he is on a high level attack team cost get they do drug raids search warrants and gang activity and it's so terrible the drugs is filling our city is it literally demoralized our city the drugs pouring in and they just I said why can't you get somebody drugged off the street so we pull people over but we don't have a drug dog said there's there's only two drug dogs in the whole town of 600,000 people two drug dogs and they're always tied up someplace else I said what does a dog he said a dog from Belgium costs over $10,000 and he has to go through police academy and so on and so forth I said well why don't y'all buy one he said we ain't got no money I've called up the captain I said what just deal about Joe ain't got a dog he said well they just will not put it in a budget I said how much the dog cost he said well it's gonna take about ten thousand dollars to get a dog I said y'all want a dog he said yes we want a dog I said sold I said who do I send the check to hang on buddy no wonder you're so demoralized you take in and you take in and take in what's wrong with giving out something I live in my community like you do so I went to our church so I need ten thousand bucks oh you got to do pass the plate praise God wrote a check sent it to the captain and he called me I'm telling you they bought the dog they had a helicopter fly in and here come the television Reverend Cornwell just how do you justify taking all that money out of church funds and buying a drug dog I said I did it because about young people he said what do you mean by that I said well I said if that drug dog can sniff out one lump sum of cocaine or crack and keep one child out of my church off of crack cocaine it'll be worth every penny I said if I can keep your son and daughter from having access to cocaine or methamphetamine because the drug dog sniffed it out it'll be worth every dime you spend no wonder your community doesn't love you we've seen it be seen give kind of I'm on brilliance can i buy just give me five just buy more praise God thank you I'll take five more minutes the the president of the largest denomination in the world of Kansas Nebraska district call me up he said I want you to see you in my office that's okay so I went down to the headquarters of the largest Protestant denomination in America's headquarters and I walk in he said come in my office we sit down he said now I want to know how a Holy Roller Church can I grow all of our churches if I could not grow a dead dried Church I'd quit if I couldn't put on a better program than a honky tonks I'd quit my god we got the most exciting thing not in America in the universe I had the southeast high school football team in church and the reason they were there because we prayed with the football players through they had a losing season he was going bad and I said come on boy I said you're gonna win every game from here on out praise God he went told his buddies a preacher prophesied to it brought the football
