Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Opening colour, and the text opened

  • The capture opens mid-sentence on Cornwell already addressing the conference: his third time at the annual Alabama Revival Conference, the hospitality and the gift basket thanked, the invitation to return to "Coleman" (Cullman, as captioned) — and the difference between brother Libby, who pastors in Washington DC, and himself, who pastors people who plow corn in Kansas; he will try, tonight, to be a little smoother, like brother Libby, who moved in this place last night.
  • He opens the book of Second Kings and reads the fifth chapter from verse 1: Non (Naaman, as captioned throughout), captain of the host of the king of Syria, a great and honourable man and a mighty man of valour, but a leper (v. 1); the Syrians' raid that brought away captive a little maid who waited on Non's wife (v. 2 — "a sad verse"); and the maid's word to her mistress — would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria, for he would recover him of his leprosy (v. 3 — "a miracle verse," greater, he says, than the healing itself). The reading stops at verse 3; the rest of the chapter is expounded, not read.
  • Seated, he announces his subject in his own words: "I want to talk tonight for a few minutes on the subject five steps to revival."

Scriptures: 2 Kings 5:1-3

The frame: five things, drawn from twenty years of seminars

  • His one-track mind: not standards, which he trusts the pastors to handle in their own assemblies, but soul winning and revival; the greatest soul winners, he believes, have not yet been born. From travelling the country teaching Bible-study seminars — as many as 35 or 36 a year — a pattern has developed over the last 20 years: about five things that need to take place in our congregations and in each individual heart, all five centred around this story in Second Kings.
  • Non's greatness is a matter of perspective: a hero in Syria, a despised destroyer in Israel — the way one people's hero general is another people's enemy (the captioned "Kuster" illustration). What the perspective hides is the raid: soldiers sent into an Israeli village killed everyone in it — her mother and father, grandparents, uncles and aunts — and the only thing that came out alive was one little girl, brought back as a birthday-present slave for the wife who had sacrificed to live with a leper. He finds the story repeated, he says, throughout First Kings and Second Kings and First and Second Chronicles (books named as the story's setting; no passage cited). And then the question the whole sermon hangs on: what could possess that girl to want the man healed who had killed everyone she loved? "You explain to me what it took for this girl to want Non healed. And I'll tell you, that's what it's going to take for our towns and our cities to have revival." Five things she had to do before she could send Non to the prophet.

Step one: she had to forgive

  • "Number one, she had to forgive." We are not a forgiving people: saints will die and go to hell over ten dollars, over a bad word, over a magazine article fought over until general conference — while sinners are dying, caring nothing for our fights. If people want to leave your church, release them; if they can be stolen, give them away. The measure of forgiveness is wanting revival for your enemy — for those you don't like, those you're jealous of, those you're having problems with.
  • The wording of Jesus is quoted without any source named (and so not indexed): if we do not forgive our brother his trespasses, neither will the heavenly Father forgive ours — "plain as I can be this afternoon, this evening." Your forgiveness can be forfeited: once-saved-always-saved is false doctrine against that word.
  • His own test comes by telephone: a saint — Jack (name as captioned) — reports that Cornwell's son called Jack's daughter a bad word. The son confesses it ("Dad, I did it"), explains she made him mad — and his father, relieved, tells him he probably should have used it twice. We get bent out of shape when somebody accuses one of our kids, when the problem is it's probably true: "I haven't seen wings on one kid in this congregation tonight."
  • In a Walmart, in work clothes, he meets the assistant pastor whose husband had publicly listed brother Cornwell's faults in a meeting — a hatred picked up second-hand from somebody else and projected as his own. "We project our hate into other people… When God said, 'If you don't forgive, you won't be forgiven.'"

Step one, deepened: Joseph

  • God chose Joseph to illustrate how important forgiveness is, and the account is told at length, uncited (and so not indexed): the dreams that made his brothers jealous, the pit, the sale to the Midianites, the auction block, the false accusation in "Piper's" house (Potiphar, as captioned in two wrong forms), the prison, the forgotten dream-interpreting — and then one moment, out of the prison house and governor over all Egypt, with power to destroy everyone who hurt him, he never considers retaliation, because somewhere in his heart he understood it was not them but God working in his life. "If God is going to demand this kind of forgiveness of a man… how much more is he going to demand forgiveness of us in 1997 who have the Holy Spirit?" And again, inside the second telling of the Joseph sentence: "In 1997, God said, Joseph, not only have you got to forgive, but I'm going to give you many reasons to forgive." The offender may only be God using that old reprobate to find out how reprobate you are; you can go to hell over a $25 lawnmower.
  • Bitterness is poison — worse than vipers, worse than king cobras. You will never amount to anything until you get plenty of offense against your life: you need to be lied on, spit on, mocked. The Charisma article should be danced over, not believed; brethren who carry a UPC card are to be undergirded, not attacked — "Our brother's not our enemy. The devil is our enemy."
  • His own history carries the point: the first Deeper Life Conference in Jackson, Mississippi, in the 1970s, when the brothers preached sell-out and he believed they were serious — he had given up chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, and nuclear technology to be a holy roller preacher; the December 1972 Sunday school convention in San Diego, where the woman teaching (he did not then believe in women preachers, and did not know she was a name brand) called him "sunny boy" and, with "brother Mag," prayed a few little words over the boy who wanted to be the greatest soul winner in the United Pentecostal Church. Then about 1975–76 came controversy, and "we're split hating each other because we think somebody think such and such" — when what was needed was a baptism of forgiveness; and a general conference voice after the settlement: "We will never allow another superstar in Pentecost." "you're not going to stop revival this time. I said I refuse to let you stop revival… We can't afford to start from scratch again."

Step two: a personal renewal

  • "There's a second thing that has to happen to us… She had to have a personal renewal." People forgive, and then live with the aftermath of the tragedy for years. Pastoring his first church — it lasted two months; the graveyard beside it was livelier than the pews — he found his main man and his wife at a grave with fresh flowers, sobbing over their son; he knelt and prayed and wept with them, and then saw the date on the tombstone: "that kid had been dead 20 ers" (20 years). Every day for 20 years, fresh flowers, a grave kept like a brand-new grave — a life wasted at the graveyard. He has buried a sister at 37, of "Hodkins" disease; his father died a sinner this past year; a brother and another sister are in the graveyard — "But I cannot live in a graveyard of past hurt." It is one thing to forgive Non; it is another to quit backing into the future always looking backwards.
  • Renewal is staged through life: get the Holy Ghost as a child, then pray through as a teenager, as an adult at 21 or 18, as a young married couple off the honeymoon, as a mother and father at the first baby, in middle age, in old age — "Revival is hindered when we don't understand the process of renewal in our spirits." His own preacher preached the process of renewal when he was a new saint; his practice still: walk off his own platform, come to his own altar, pray until personally renewed — and if the devil is too strong, fast and pray. She forgave, she was renewed, and renewal is what people see: "that new glow on your face, that new shine in your spirit."

Step three: faith in the man of God

  • "There's a third thing that I see. She said, 'I would to God that he knew about the prophet that is in Israel.' Brother Sutton, I love preachers." On a jury he would find any accused preacher innocent on principle: "I'm going to stick with preachers." What she might have said instead is rehearsed — no more tithes, the preacher's fault, the preacher off eating fried chicken while the slaughter was going on, preachers done me wrong, all he wants is money. "I'm not out after your money, but it takes money to keep me out" — and the stingy who claim membership and don't support the church carry a curse God put there, not the preacher.
  • The counter-picture: an old Mexican man in his church who raises a garden, and every year brings the first cantaloupe to his pastor — it may not be ripe, but the pastor gets the first one. "You can't have revival without loving the man of God." You don't have to understand everything the preacher does — you haven't sat in his office counselling with the people he counsels — but you have to have confidence that he's a watchman on the wall. The newspapers and television roll the preacher in a bad light; his own church would line up to have the goofiest preacher in Pentecost sign their Bibles. Sit swelled up on a pew mad at the man of God and God will destroy you one of these hours. "Jimmy Swagger messed up. I ain't Jimmy Swagger. I was raised across the street from him, but I'm not him." For every overpaid preacher there are 10,000 overworked and underpaid — "I discern a preacher hating spirit here tonight. And I'm not leaving this until we start loving preachers." If she hadn't had respect to the man of God, she would have never said Non to the man of God. And respect ought to start with men of God for one another: "We ought to lift one another up higher. The wall's not going to lift us up."

The recap, and the tithe-paying lady: the price of demanding compromise

  • The frame is restated for the conference: "Which this is a revival conference, isn't it? Let's talk about what it's going to take to have revival. We need a baptism of forgiveness. We need a baptism of renewal in our personal lives, in our churches. We need a renewal in our organization. 10,000 preachers in the United Pentecostal church needs to pray through."
  • Renewal among preachers, and respect: a preacher mad at the UPC for 10 years because home missions didn't give him an allotment ("aotment") — "Look, Jack, they don't owe you nothing… There was revival before there was whole missions." After a seminar in a district in every direction from here, a little woman put her hands on her hips: "I'm glad you're not my pastor." — "No love lost." — "You're not much of a man of God." — "Only because you're not a saint." Preachers should not be liver-chickens ("liy") who get offended when they preach against your television; turn the PA up louder.
  • Then the story the whole step has been walking toward: a lady paying almost $1,200 a week in tithe sat down beside him in Bible study, pointed her finger at 1 Corinthians chapter 11, and asked, "Do you preach that?" — "Is it in the book?… Didn't I swear before Almighty God that I'd preach the word to this group without fear, favor, or compromise?" — "I sure do." — "Then I'll have to go find me another church." It started in his feet, this burning sensation: she had bought his better car, his silk ties, his better suit, the food in his belly — and he told her, "Lady, I knew you and before you came to our church, and I'm going to eat when I forget what your name was." We don't need people in a congregation telling their preacher to compromise; he is fighting devils he never had to fight before, and he needs people that love him.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 11

Step four: faith in God

  • "Number four, I got two minutes to cover, too." If she had suffered what she suffered, it would have been hard to have respect for God anymore — and people do exactly that: grandparents of 90 die full of the Holy Ghost and the preacher gets looked square in the face, mad at God, because Grandpa Jones went to heaven. "While you're blaming him for taking grandpa to heaven, you ought to be shouting about it, too." She refused to lose her faith in God.
  • The Jewish frame: seven holocausts in their past, and after each one they rebounded — but in the last one, seven million scraped off the ovens of "Dao and Bukinwall and Oshulus" (as captioned), something happened to the Jewish nation; there are more atheist Jews today than ever, and believing Jews are the small minority we mistake for the whole. This girl recovered herself from the destruction of her village and her people, forgave her murderer, restored herself, had faith in the man of God — "But friend, it was just as important that she have faith in the God of the man."
  • Why Elisha never came out: when they packed up and went to Israel, the king of Israel himself knew nothing about a God that healed and was angry that Non said there was a prophet; Elisha sent the servant — "You go tell him to dip seven times in the River Jordan" — not out of holiness or importance, but because he had heard of a little girl whose family was destroyed who sent that man to him, and he would not take the glory away from that little girl, unnamed in the Bible. "Have faith in God… there's a God in heaven that says, 'In the last days, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh'" (wording quoted, no source named; not indexed).

Step five: a God in your church — and the close that does not survive

  • "And there's one. Let's stand together. I preached for an hour just to get right here. She said, 'I would to God that he knew about the prophet that is in Israel.' I've been in the United Pentecostal Church since June the 5th, 1967. That's a little over 30 years." Splits have been prophesied to him the whole time — the UPC going down the tubes, disunity, even brethren who think we're the Antichrist and tote cards in their pockets. "We better get our mouth off the United Pentecostal church because there is a God in the United Pentecostal church that will heal you." The only ones God has walked away from are those who say God has walked away: this past Monday night in his own service the preacher could hardly preach for five altar services before the evangelist got to the floor — healings, people in the floor, the Holy Ghost. "I preach for all the other organizations. I have no bones against them. But let me just tell you one thing. God hadn't forgotten where we are either… there's a God in your church. I said there's a God in your church."
  • The exercise follows at once: turn around and say "I forgive you — I don't know what you've done against me, but you're forgiven"; say "I am forgiven… Because I have forgiven. I have laid your offense aside and God has laid my offense aside and I got the best deal." Leap for joy; get a renewal of the Holy Ghost; and start telling the sinner, tell your friends: "There's a God in church that'll heal you. There's a God in church that'll heal your baby. There's a God in church." That exhortation, at 1:09:34, is the last captioned line of this sermon. The panel then carries no caption for 29 seconds, and a different sermon begins: this sermon's own close — whatever prayer, altar call, or dismissal followed — does not survive in the upload, and nothing here reconstructs it.

of Alabama to be with you all here at the annual Alabama revival conference. I think this is the third time uh that I have been here. True to form, the hospitality in Alabama is hard to beat and I thank you for that. And I thank you for that nice basket uh that I received upon arrival and uh it is doing the disappearing act. I appreciate their kindness, nice motel room, uh the hospitality of the steering committee and the invitation to return to Coleman, Alabama and preach to you. Uh, someone asked, "How come I couldn't be a little bit more smooth like brother Libby?" You have to remember he pastors in Washington DC. I pastor people who plow corn. And there's a difference between folks who plow corn and those are in Washington. I mean, in Kansas, uh, there's a saying, stubborn as a Missouri mule. But that mule was born and bred in Kansas. So, there's a difference between pastoring newheaded people and uh wonderful easy people like those in the DC area. Hallelujah. So, uh I uh I decided to try to practice being more like brother Libby tonight. Hallelujah. I don't know how long it'll last, but I'm at least going to try. It is good to have our our district superintendent uh in the in the house with us. Let's give Brother Lewis a wonderful hand. Hallelujah. Praise God. I uh I brought some I brought my entire I tell you what I thought about the hospitals in Alabama. I brought my entire pastoral staff with me and uh there's there's uh eight of us and we drew straws and one fell drew the short end and a straw so he had to stay home and preach but the rest of us came to Alabama to enjoy the presence of God uh that is in this place. I enjoyed brother Libby and brother Morgan last night. Let me tell you, we might not have climbed the walls and bit the ceiling last night, but the Lord moved in this place last night. That's right. That's right. He just absolutely moved in this place last night. Amen. And uh tonight I feel like that I do have uh a message that I think is from the Lord and I want to share what I think that the Lord has given to me uh specifically I think for this particular moment in time. And uh I'll tell you like uh Liz Taylor told her last husband, I won't keep you long. Let's stand together. Open your Bible with me to the book of Second Kings. Let me tell you a little bit what my philosophy is that I I I don't want to use an obscure text that you cannot identify with. But I try to find texts that uh you are already familiar with so that you will not struggle with the word and then try to build something around something that you are already familiar with. And I've chosen a story tonight from the word of the Lord that I think that most of you will at least identify somewhat with so that I can pick out of that what the Lord has for us tonight. In the book of 2 Kings chapter 5, Non, captain of the host of the king of Syria was a great man. Everybody say a great man with his master. great man with his master and honorable because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria. Everybody say deliverance unto Syria. Deliverance. He was also a mighty man in valor, but he was a leper. I I think that you don't have to be in Pentecost very long to hear about non the leper and him dipping seven times uh in the river Jordan. I don't think you have to be around long. Uh it is a very powerful powerful passage of scripture. And uh let me read a couple of more verses. Number two, number two is a sad verse. It is one of the saddest verses in the story. The Syrians had gone out

by companies and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid and she waited on Non's wife. In two verses, we have introduced three people. We have introduced Non, the captain of the host of the king of Syria. We have introduced Non's wife and we have introduced a little girl. Two of them are unnamed. The only one that we know's name, of course, is Non himself. But Non's wife and this little girl is going to play a significant role in what I'm going to preach here tonight. Verse number three is a miracle verse. It is probably one of the greatest miracle verses in all of the Bible. She said unto her, "Mistress, would God, my Lord, was with the prophet that is in Samaria, for he would recover him of his leprosy." This verse is a greater miracle than when the verse tells us that non dipped seven times in the River Jordan and was healed of leprosy. This verse is far far greater than the actual healing of non himself. And uh you may be seated. I want to talk tonight for a few minutes on the subject five steps to revival. I travel across this country. Brother Sutton has already made reference to it. I have a onetrack mind. I get criticized because I don't come to conferences like this and spew out my standards of holiness and so on and so forth. But I got enough confidence in the pastors that you can do a pretty good job of that for yourself. I have respect to you and your local assembly and the autonomy that God has given to your church. And my ministry is not to line up your church in the first place, but my ministry has been through the years uh to deal with in the area of soulwinning and the area of revival. It would please me greatly that if every pastor and every church, every child of God in the United Pentecostal church would have a massive explosion of revival in your spirit, in your town, in your city. It wouldn't bother me uh in the least that if a thousand churches surpassed everything that I've ever thought about doing. If God would raise up mighty soul winners, great soul winners, soul winners that are greater than anything that we've seen thus far. And I believe that it is very possible and very likely that the greatest soul winners have not yet been born yet. I don't think that our churches are as great as they're going to be. I don't think that our pastors have even began to touch the limits of their ability. I I just have enough confidence that the preachers in the United Pentecostal Church are the greatest preachers in the entire world. But I got a choice of picking up a tape of a a preacher in this denomination or preaching a picking up a tape of a United Pentecostal. I tell you uh if I pick both of them up and plug them in at the same time, I'll tell you which one I'll turn off first. I want to hear that Godanointed powerful preaching of somebody that knows God and the power of the Holy Ghost. And I think you are exactly the same way. But in my traveling across this country and teaching Bible study seminars as many as 35 36 seminars a year and and trying to teach churches and pastors and and congregations how to be soul winners. There has been a pattern uh that that has seemingly developed in the last 20 years that I'm going to be drawing from tonight. I'm not coming uh standing here as a novice but I'm standing here telling you that in my observations in the things that I have experienced across our country and even in foreign countries there are seem to be about five things that needs to take place within our congregations and each individual heart if we're going to have the kind of revival that God wants to give to us. And I think all five of these things are centered around the story uh in the book of second kings and in particular non himself. The Bible says non was a mighty man with his master. He was honorable and uh that non was a great man. He brought deliverance unto the nation of Syria. When I read this, I I I had a hard time swallowing the fact that non was a great man. I had a hard time believing that non was an honorable man. I had a difficult time believing that non was what the Bible said he was until I began to realize that he brought

deliverance unto Syria and that this passage is written from a Syrian perspective. If you was a native of Syria, non would have been your hero. If you had been a Jew in Israel, non would have been a despised one and would not have been the hero others thought him to be. Uh some time ago, somebody was talking about uh the Seventh Calvary and George Kuster and how great a general he was. Well, he might have been great from our perspective as a middle class white honky, but friend, you ask Crazy Horse what he thought of Kuster and he'd have a different opinion of it. And so him being honorable and great is a matter of perspective. Non was a general. He was a soldier. He was a destroyer. He knew how to inflict maximum damage upon his enemy and bring great victory to his nation and to his country. Non was a hero in Syria. He was a leper though. And when you read the story in the next verse, the Bible said that they sent out companies uh uh uh soldiers by companies and they went into Israeli villages and brought back a little girl from one of these Israeli village and presented this little girl to Non's wife. You see, not only was Non a hero, but there was a certain admiration for non's wife to be able to live with somebody that had leprosy. Non could have chosen any woman he wanted had he not had leprosy. But there was a certain sacrifice on the person that could live with a leper. And they wanted to do something special. One commentator said that on this particular day of this woman's birthday, non wanted to do something very special for his wife. There's nothing that he could give her that she did not have. And so he sent soldiers out into Israeli villages. And and in one of these village, they found a little girl and they brought back that little girl to be a slave for his wife. What kind of man would take a human life in bondage that human life and present her as a birthday present as a slave? Now you say, "Oh, what a great thing that he done for his for for his wife." Well, how about the feelings of that little girl that had to live under that kind of subjugation. But the problem doesn't stop there. when non soldiers went into an Israeli village. And you'll find this story repeated throughout the book of First Kings and 2 Kings and 1 Chronicles and 2 Chronicles and all the other stories and the battles that that just like that God told Saul, you go to the Amalachites and you utterly destroy them, man, woman, child. And that was the way of war. And when non sent those soldiers into that Israeli village, everybody was killed in that village. They killed her mother and her dad. They killed her grandmas and her grandfathers, her uncles and her aunts. And when those soldiers left there, I want to tell you, there was nothing but a massacre. And the only thing that came out alive from that village was one little girl. And then when you hear this little girl say uh under her breath or every how she said it, I would to God that my master knew about the prophet of God that is Israel. I when I first saw this, I wept like a baby. What could possess a girl to want a man healed that had killed her mother and her father, her brothers, her sister, her aunts, her uncles, her nieces, her nephews, and everybody that she loved. You explain to me what it took for this girl to want non healed. And I'll tell you, that's what it's going to take for our towns and our cities to have revival and our churches to have revival. Oh, y'all missing a good sermon. I'm going to say it one more time. We get what it took for this girl to to do what she done. If we can get that attitude, friend, we're going to have revival in our churches and we're going to have revival in our spirits. There are five things that this little girl had to do before she could get to the place to send non to the prophet of God in Israel. Number one, she had to forgive. Oh, this is going to quieten the crowd, but I'll just have to plow my way through this one. Okay. She had to forgive. It is amazing how many people in our pews are going to die and go to hell because somebody owes them $10.

It's going to be amazing how many of you are going to die and go to hell off of an apostolic pew because somebody said a bad word against you and you're going to harbor that in your spirit the rest of your life. We are not a forgiving people. one one one one magazine can write a little article and we're going to stay upset about that article until general conference and have knockown dragout fights over it when who cares what our enemy says about us. All we need to worry about is what is God saying about us? What is the Holy Ghost saying about us? What are sinners concerned about? They don't care if we're fighting with the trinitarians. They don't care if we're fighting with the editors of a magazine when they're dying and going to hell. What we need is to stay focused on revival in our churches and not get sidetracked with the issues. Hallelujah. You let a good brother from across town steal one of your precious little rep I mean saints. My God. If they can steal them, give them to them. If people want to stay in your church, release them and let them go someplace where they'll be happy. If they've been causing you problems, run them off and let them cause your enemy problems. But my God, we got to get a hold of the spirit of forgiveness. Can I have a witness, somebody? Jesus said that if we do not forgive our brother his trespasses, neither will your heavenly father forgive you your trespasses. I want to be plain as I can be this afternoon, this evening. There needs to be a baptism of forgiveness to sweep every pastor, every evangelist, every apostle, every prophet, every teacher, every child of God, every saint. And for God's sake, we need a spirit of forgiveness in the United Pentecostal Church. We cannot release the anger from our spirit. We cannot release strife from our spirit unless God baptizes us with a spirit of forgiveness. How do you know we're forgiven? How do you know we are forgiving people? It's when we want our enemy to have revival. When we want those we don't like to have revival when those we're jealous of, we want to have revival. Those we're having problems with, we want them to have revival. Non is a leper, but he's also a murderer. He's a rapist. He goes into an Israeli village and kills innocent men and women and children. Brings back one little girl so he have a birthday present for his Jezebel wife. And somewhere along the way, this little girl says, "I wish he'd visit the prophet. He'd be healed." And all we major on naming dipping seven times in muddy Jordan when what we ought to be focusing on is how the name of God did she get to the place that she could forgive him and want him to be healed. friend, you even look at me crosseyed and I hope when you dip seven times in the Jordan River that you drown. I hope not only you have leprosy, I hope you get cancer on top of that. I hope you have kidney failure and sugar diabetes and and I hope you have lago and I hope you have an ingrown toenail on on top of that. Amen. Hang on because I'm going to come home where the rubber meets the road. Okay. I wonder how many women in this congregation that somebody has said something about your little darling young and you rose up with a spirit in your heart. Bless God and talking about my youngans and I'm going to hate them forever. Well, our kids may not be as innocent as we think they are. Our little darlings might have used a cuss word. I my God my kids are almost perfect. I mean almost just at the in fact they are perfect. Praise God. And one of the saints called me on the phone the other day and said pastor I want to talk to you. I said what's the problem Jack? He said it's your son. I said which one? You can pick on the two oldest one but leave the baby alone cuz I know he ain't never done nothing wrong.

I said, 'What's up? And uh he said, "Your son called my daughter a bad word." And and told me what the word was. Oh my god. I said, "You are you sure he said so? Where did he learn that?" Then I remember he he was been playing around with your kids. And uh I I said, "All right, I'll I'll check into it." So I called him on the phone. I said, "Son, I need to talk to you." I said, "Uh, are you familiar with this particular word?" And I told him what the word was. I said, "Do you know what that word means?" He said, "Yep." I said, "Have you ever used that word before?" And there was a long silence on the phone. I said, "Son, don't worry. I'm not going to I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just going to kill you if you use it." And it just crushed me to think that the holiest saint in my church could use a word like that. And when he finally said, "Dad, I did it. I did it. Dad, I did." I said, "Why did you do it?" He made me mad. Dad, you don't know what she was doing wrong. And I felt real good. I said, "Well, son, you probably should have used the word twice instead of once then." And we get bit out of shape if somebody accuses one of our kids something and we're going to hate somebody forever when the problem is it's probably true. I haven't seen wings on one kid in this congregation tonight. I haven't seen wings on one woman or one man tonight. We all are offensive at times and we all make mistakes. And friend, there comes a time when I'm going to need forgiveness just like the next person's going to need forgiveness. But if there's no baptism of forgiveness among us, it's going to bind the spirit of revival for a long time. Instead of promoting forgiveness, we're actually promoting strife among us because we get in our ministerial huddles and we talk about one another and we feed on one another and the first thing you know, we hate people that we don't even know. Hallelujah. Now, you know what the sound of the trumpet's going to sound like? is the sound of trump is gonna sound something like this. Attention Walmart shoppers. I mean, God's gonna have to come to Walmart because that's where we're all going to be. I'm in Walmart buying a few things. I got blue jeans on, got a checkered shirt, got a ball cap on, got tennis shoes on. I don't know whether I've been cutting grass or fixing something that I was a little bit smelly. been working all day and uh I saw a nice Pentecostal couple and uh I walked up to him. I said, "Uh, how y'all doing?" "Fine." I said, "Where y'all go to church?" She said, "Uh, I am assistant pastor at such and such and such and such church." I said, "You are?" I said, "What is your name?" They told me what their name was. It instantly rest registered because in a public meeting he was testifying and made the statement that brother Cornwell was such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and had a list of things that I was and there wasn't a one of them that was nice except I was a human being. I said you are so and so and uh she said yes. I said, "You don't know who I am, do you?" And I stood there. Boy, I I had a grin on me like a possum eating sawers. I I wanted to talk in tongues, pop my neck, and do the whly bird right there. She said, "Uh, no. I don't I don't think we've ever met you." I said, "Is your husband so and so and so?" "Yes." I said, "Uh, did he preach in such and such place?" Uh, yes. Yes. Yes. That was that's my husband. I said, "Uh, you remember some statements that he made about a brother Cornwell in that meeting?" Yes. I said, "Uh, I said, I'm brother Cornwell." And I said, "Isn't it amazing that y'all know so much about me and you've never met me a day in your life?" I said, "You know, you you know, your husband said those things because somebody said them to him and he picked up on the hatred of somebody else as his own hatred." And it is amazing how much of this. Oo, I am preaching up a storm tonight. It's going to rain in Alabama when I get through. Hallelujah.

And instead of having a baptism of forgiveness, we project our hate into other people. We project our prejudices into other people. We project our bad attitudes towards other people. When God said, "If you don't forgive, you won't be forgiven." Somebody needs to shout, "Amen." I want to tell all of you once saved or always saviors. That's false doctrine because you can be forgiven and your forgiveness can be forfeited and be taken away from you because the Lord said that if you don't forgive that God will not forgive you of your sins. How important is the baptism of forgiveness to revival? Let me just tell you how important forgiveness is to revival. Do you realize that God chose Joseph to illustrate how important forgiveness is? God is going to put the salvation of the whole world. He's going to put the birth of Christ, the Messiah himself, in the hands of one man and his ability to forgive. and he's going to put it in the hands of one man without him being baptized in Jesus name and without him being filled with the Holy Ghost. If God is going to demand this kind of forgiveness of a man, then how much more is he going to demand forgiveness of us in 1997 who have the Holy Spirit, who possess Jesus Christ in their inwardmost parts? I want to ask you something. What is it going to take for God to get a hold of us and baptize us with a spirit of forgiveness? Friend, if I if if I see a a a Matt truck coming in my lane and we're going to we're going to we're going to hit head on and I'm going to go out into eternity and I'm not going to start steaming screaming, "God, forgive me. God forgive me. God forgive me." No sir. I'm going to start screaming as loud as I can, God, I forgive this one. God, I forgive that one. God, I forgive this one. God, I forgive that one because I'd rather die forgiven than repenting. I'd rather die releasing those who have hurt me than get forgiveness for my own sins. That's how important forgiveness is to revival. In 1997, God said, "Joseph, not only have you got to forgive, but I'm going to give you many reasons to forgive." Friend, it wasn't mankind that kept slapping Joseph down. It was God doing it with Joseph thinking it was somebody else. The person that offends you, little darling. It might not be anybody but God using that old repbate to find out how reprobate you are. the person that cheats you and you can't hardly worship God because somebody cheated you. Somebody crossed the uh the other side of the church borrowed your lawnmower and broke the blade on him. Praise God. I'll never loaning my lawnmower no more. It wasn't worth a 25 bucks. You're going to go to hell over a $25 lawnmower. You say, "You don't know what you're talking about." Then you you keep that attitude about the person that done you wrong and find out one morning when you wake up in hell how important it was. We need a baptism to release every spirit and every offense that everybody's done against us. The Lord had Joseph dream dreams to make his brother jealous. His own brothers hated him. And then they plotted to murder him. And then they put him in a pit, sold him to the Midianites, took him to Egypt, and put him on the chopping block. There is nothing more detestable and humiliating for a Jew to be put on a public auction block. Joseph would rather have died in the pit than been publicly humiliated on a slave auction block. And then when he got into Piper's house, he was accused of by a woman of raping her. We know he's innocent because we read the story, but other folks didn't have the Bible to read the whole story. And he went to prison for something he did not do or even contemplate doing, but rather done just the opposite of the evil. He ran from the evil. Spent a couple of years in the prison, interpreted people's dreams for forgotten by them until God's appointed

time. And in one moment, he brought him out of the prison house and was made governor over all of Egypt. Friend, he's got power in his hands now. Everybody that's ever hurt him, he can destroy. He doesn't even mention Piper's wife. He doesn't even consider retaliation against the one that he used to have to serve. He doesn't even consider retaliation against Potterer's wife. I'm going to tell you something, friend. When he sees his brother coming across that desert about nine years later, If he would have wanted to get back in Egypt for what Egypt gave to him, he didn't have to interpret Pharaoh's dreams. He could have let them wasted their plentious crops. He could have let them waste the time of increase, but instead he saved them by giving them the plan of deliverance. And when he saw his brothers come, he never considered killing his brothers. Why? because somewhere in his heart he understood it was not them but it was God that was working in my life. And when we believe that God is working in our life, we can forgive anything. Am I making sense? Does this make any sense at all? There is nothing, brother Sutton, more detestable to be around than a man that's got bitterness in his crow. They're poison. They're worse than vipers, worse than king cobras. And they're justified in all of their feelings. You'll never amount to diddly squat until you get plenty of offense against your life. You need to be lied on. You need to be spit on. Oh, I've quietened the crowd, haven't I? Hallelujah. You need to be mocked and ridiculed. My God, we ought to be dancing up down and shouting about the article in the Charisma magazine. We finally got the world's attention that we're not like them. Praise God. Hallelujah. And we're ready to believe that everything that paper said that these brethren said, we really believe that they said that kind of garbage. Friend, they carry a UPC card in their pocket. And I believe I got enough confidence in them that when they signed on the dotted line that they believed exactly what they said they believe. Why don't we have confidence sometimes in one another? Instead of believing the worst on everybody, let's believe the best on everybody. These brethren don't need to be attacked by us, but they need to be undergurtded by us. They're not our enemy. Our brother's not our enemy. The devil is our enemy. Amen. I'm not the smartest man in the world, but my God, in the 1970s, we was rocking and rolling in revival. My I went to I went to a conference in Jackson, Mississippi, the first Deeper Life Conference. I I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Those brothers said, "Sell out to God. Get your Bible. Stick it under your arm. Go to the malls. Preach the gospel everywhere. Sell out. Praise God." And I I I thought they were serious. I didn't know that they was just having a conference to entertain people. Burns me up. And I got lied to. I went to a Sunday school convention in 19 uh in December of 1973. and uh and excuse me, 1972 in San Diego, California, and this gay-headed woman was up there preaching. Actually, she was teaching. In those days, I didn't believe in women preachers. I I've changed my mind since then. I I believe a woman can testify sometimes better than a man. But I you have to understand where I was raised. Forgive me. Praise God. And she was talking about whatever things you desire. And I was listening to her. Didn't know her from Adam. I didn't know she was a name brand in Pentecost. I didn't know she was a celebrity. I I I couldn't understand why they didn't have a local license preacher preach instead of a woman. I didn't even like her up being up there. I didn't know who she was. I didn't know all that. And and she said, "Whatever you desire, if you desire strong grown up, you can have it. Praise God." Like an idiot. I when she gave the alter call, I went running down the front.

I was standing on the edge of a platform about like this one right here. And I I didn't I didn't really understand that you're supposed to get down your face between your knees and squall and ball until it was Pizza Hut time. I thought you were supposed to go down and squall and ball till you got right with God. I didn't know you supposed to do it just in time to get down to the Godfathers or something, Taco Bell, McDonald's, and I'm standing there and I'm tearing down the face and I finally get her attention and and her husband says, "Uh, what what you need?" And and she came over. She said, "Well, you need sunny boy. Call me a sunny boy. Me, brother, the the apostle to revival." Sunny boy. I said, "I want you lay your hands on me. Pray for me. I got a desire." I said, "I'm going to be the greatest soul winner in the United Pentecostal church." I didn't know she was. She didn't pray. She she her and brother Mag they hand on me prayed a few little words because ain't nobody going to replace them buddy. Get on back the back seat kid. Who you think you are? I tell you what if we can get this big I and little you syndrome out of our spirit. There's a lot of soul winners sitting on our pews right now. There's a lot of powerhouses sitting on our pews right now. Hallelujah. And friend, I gave up chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, and nuclear technology to be a holy roller preacher because somebody said God would use me. And friend, we was going across this country rocking and rolling with revival, kicking pull pits, knocking over chandeliers, kicking holes in walls, demanding people pray. My god, I got so many preachers across this country mad at me because I kicked holes in their walls and and I throwed song books at people and I jumped and screamed and shouted, walking the back of pews and wouldn't leave there till we had revival. And then about 197576 here come controversy and the first thing you know we're split hating each other because we think somebody think such and such and we hate what you think we thought we thought. I ain't repeating that one. When what we needed was a baptism of forgiveness. When what we need is a baptism of forgiveness. Somebody shouted, "Amen." And I went to general conference one time when the controversy was finally settled through a war and I heard a man say, "We will never allow another superstar in Pentecost." And so we live through the superstar syndrome killing men who believed in revival and the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. I'm going to tell you ladies and gentlemen, you're not going to stop revival this time. I said I refuse to let you stop revival because there's an outpouring and I demand of us to forgive those that we have been offended by. I'm too old to start over now. We can't afford to start from scratch again. We got to build on what God is doing right now. Stay seated, please. There's a second thing that has to happen to us. My goodness. She had to have a personal renewal. There's a lot of folks that go through tragedies and they forgive, but they live with the aftermath of that tragedy for years. I was pastoring my first church. I lasted two months before I got run off. The thing that ran me off was there was a graveyard beside the church. It's It's terrible when the graveyard is more lively than than pews. It's crazy when there's more spooks in the graveyard than there is holy spooks in the church. And I drove up to the church and there was this man and his wife over in the graveyard and it looked like there was a grave there with fresh flowers on it and I thought it looked like a fresh grave.

And so I walked over and it was my main man, his wife and I stood beside him and uh I noticed the name on the gravestone had their name and I deduced it was their son. Tears are rolling down their face and man they are crying, sobbing. I knew that for many services they had been real sad that there was no joy in their life and I didn't realize their son had just gotten killed and all of a sudden I was just swept with compassion and man I got the squalling and sobbing and we knelt down on the grave and we prayed over one another and and I was wiping the sweat and the tears out of my eyes and I looked at the date on the tombstone and that kid had been dead 20 ers. It started in my feet. This burning sensation worked its way up my calves, my thighs, my hips. I said, "How long's this dude been dead?" They came to the graveyard every day without fail, fresh flowers regular basis, kept that grave looking like it was a brand new grave and had done that for 20 years and had wasted their life at the graveyard. You say, "Preacher, you're hard. I've been to the grave more times than most of you. I buried a sister, 37 years old, died of Hodkins disease. Uh this past year I just buried my father died a sinner in a sinner's grave. I got a brother that's in the graveyard. I got another sister that's in a graveyard and and I got plenty of people that I love very dearly in the graveyard and I love them. We have the memorial service once a year and I remember them and we decorate their graves when we're at home and all that kind of stuff. But I cannot live in a graveyard of past hurt. When she for It's one thing to forgive non, but it's another thing to realize that you cannot back your way into the future. Always looking backwards. You say, "But you don't understand what people done to me. Why don't you get your eyes off of what they've done? You don't understand the hurts I have suffered in the past. Why don't you turn around and quit facing your past and start facing your future? Amen. Folks, I feel the baptism of the power of God in this room right now. I'm tired of how many mistakes that the latter rain people made. I wasn't back there in latter rain days. And I'm not going to live in latter rain days. I was there in the days when the charismatics started. But I'm not going to live all my life fighting the charismatics. It ain't worth the fight when there are more sinners out there that's never heard of a church and a gospel and a preacher. We're not competing with the denomin. We're dealing with the devil to bring people out of a burning red hot hell. I believe if you get the Holy Ghost as a child that as soon as you get to be a teenager, you better start learning how to pray through every weekend. And when you finally turn 21 or 18 or how old you are, when you're no longer a teenager in attitude, you ought to get the Holy Ghost as an adult. And when you get married, the first thing you ought to do after you get off your honeymoon is you and your baby walk down an aisle and get the Holy Ghost as a young married couple. And friend, when you have your first baby, you ought to walk down an aisle and get the Holy Ghost as a mother and a father. And when you turn middle age, you ought to get the Holy Ghost as a middleager. When you get old, you ought to get the Holy Ghost as an old person because we need renewals. Every time we go through a change in life, we need a renewal in our lives. Revival is hindered when we don't understand the process of renewal in our spirits. Give years of revival. How can you stay on the cloud that long is because when I was a new saint, my preacher preached the process of renewal and I picked up on it and I have to keep myself renewed in the Holy Ghost. When I come through a crisis with my brother, I'm going to pray through over it. My saints, I tell you, I walk off on my platform and I come to my altar and I pray until I am personally renewed in the Holy Ghost. And if the devil's too strong, I fast and pray until I get personal renewal in the spirit.

I'm so lonely. Nobody loves me. I'm going to go eat a frog. But the old husband knew about the prophet of God. She'd get healed. She forgave. But that doesn't bring people to the prophet. is when they look on you and see that personal renewal, that new glow on your face, that new shine in your spirit. Hallelujah. She stood up because she had a personal renewal. Mom and dad, by now, somebody's buried them. Someday I'll visit their grave. But I can't live over there in the graveyard of the slaughter house. I got to live my life now and make the best of it. And she decided, hallelujah. And she got a personal renewal. Renewal is more than coming to church and snotting around the altar on Sunday night. Renewal is when you walk out with a fresh glow on your face. Preachers, quit. We need to quit having nervous breakdowns over things that don't matter. Why don't we get renewal and get strength over the things that are so big in our life and make them little things and make God big again? There's a third thing that I see. She said, "I would to God that he knew about the prophet that is in Israel." Brother Sutton, I love preachers. I guess one of the reasons I couldn't sit, if you ever call me to sit on jury, he's innocent. I don't see it for myself, he's innocent. Cuz I ain't trusting nobody that's going to be accused of a preacher. So y'all going to have to take care of all that stuff by yourself because I'm going to stand with a preacher. Oh, he's a reprobate, lousy, no good scoundrel. I'm going to stick with preachers. All right. You know, she could have said, "I ain't paying my tithes no more." That preacher been a man of God. He He could have prevented this. It's a preacher's fault we going through what we're going through. Her daddy was dead. Her mama was dead. Grandma and Grandpa's dead. Ain't Susie and Uncle Bill's dead. Cousin Jerry and Joey, they're all dead. I hope somebody buried them. Sorry, preacher. He was off eating fried chicken while the slaughter was going on. He probably out fishing. I don't I'm just I ain't liking preachers. Preachers done me wrong. All he wants is money, money, money, money. I'm not out after your money, but it takes money to keep me out. And if there's any stingy guts that don't pay your tithe here, I hope the devil turns a thermostat in hell up on you. claim to be a member of God's church and don't support it, you are reprobate to the nth degree, they ain't going to pay your tithe. Go to barrooms. Oh, I feel a bad spirit out here. Boy, if I knew somebody out here that didn't pay their tithe, I'd stand right in front of you and preach. Praise God. I'm looking for your spirit. I can sniff you out like a blood hound. Amen. People don't pray their tithes are preacher haters. There's a curse on your family. The preacher didn't put it there. God put it on you. Cuz God's pe all of God's people pay tithe. Every last one of them pay tithe. And I tell you something else about people. Those that love the man of God, love the preacher. Can I have an amen? I got I got an old Spanish man, old Mexican man in my church and every year he raises a garden. Oh, friend of the night at

church. He said, "Preacher, preacher." said, "Senñor said, "Come here." And I said, "What you got?" He said, "It is my first cantaloupe, Senñor." He said, "When I picked my first cantaloupe," he said, "It may not it may not be ripe, but I just I want my pastor to have the first cantaloupe." Hallelujah. That sucker was good, man. Hallelujah. It was so good I almost licked the seeds out of it. You can't have revival without loving the man of God. Impossible to have revival without loving the man of God. You say, "Well, I don't understand everything my preacher does and says, you better hope you never do understand it all because you might not have been in his office and counsel with the queers and the adulterers and the fornicators and the liars and the stealers. You don't have to understand everything he says, everything he preaches because you got to have confidence in the man of God that he's a watchman standing on the wall. There is an erosion of respect for men of God in our society. The preacher is a is is being rolled against in the newspapers. The televisions are always putting the preacher in the bad light. But thanks be unto God. There are churches that love preachers and love the prophet of God and they love the man of God. You you can be you can be snaggle tooth and half blind, waddled up to the pull pit broken. Open your Bible and claim to preach and slaughter the King's English and half of our church is gonna line up wanting you to sign their Bible. We can make the goofiest preacher in Pentecost sound like the best. They get up and stumber and stagger and our people are going to stand and rally and if you got one ounce of the Holy Ghost, it's going to go up in holy smoke because our people believe in preachers. They love the man of God. And you won't have revival until there's a baptism of respect for the man of God in your church. You are an absolute ninja poop. You are the stupidest person that ever lived to sit swelled up on a pew mad at the man of God. First of all, you don't have God's mind and you don't know what the man of God's been through. And you don't know what God is telling the man of God. And friend, if you got that kind of attitude, you better get off that pew and you better get in your Chevy car and you better put it in high gear and you better get out of the way because God is going to destroy you one of these hours. I'm just preaching. I'm I'm tired of this disrespect that we have for preachers. Be seated. Well, you maybe you ain't been reading the papers lately. What papers? Well, old Jimmy Swagger messed up. I ain't Jimmy Swagger. I was raised across the street from him, but I'm not him. Well, what about this one? And what about that one? I I know Bren preachers messed up. I know more saints is messed up than ever thought about preachers messing up. Well, praise God. He's just a money hunger mongrel. I'm going to tell you, for every preacher that's overpaid, there are 10,000 that's overworked and underpaid. I ain't getting all you. You're just sitting there too quiet. And I discern a preacher hating spirit here tonight. And I'm not leaving this until we start loving preachers. So you just sit on me all you want to cuz me and God going to preach a while. If she hadn't had respect to the man of God, she would have never said non to the man of God. And I'm not going to turn around and see who approves of this, but respect for men of God ought to start with men of God. We ought to quit fussing about our minor differences and we ought to stand with one another through thick and thin. We ought to lift one another up higher. The wall's not going to lift us up. We're going to have to lift one another up. Which this is a revival conference, isn't it? Let's talk about what it's going to take to have revival. We need a baptism of forgiveness. We need a baptism of renewal in our personal lives, in our churches. We need a renewal in our organization. 10,000

preachers in the United Pentecostal church needs to pray through. I was with a preacher this week that's been mad at the UPC for 10 years because home missionary home mission didn't give him an aotment. I said, "Look, Jack, they don't owe you nothing." That's right. And I'm glad they didn't give it to you with kind of attitude you got right now. And as long as you think you deserve something, you'll never get it. You need to learn how to depend on God. There was revival before there was whole missions. There was whole missionary before there was a dollar bill in our pocket. We're not dependent on missions given in order to build a church. We're dependent on the shed blood of Jesus Christ. And besides, it's more blessed to give than to receive. And if you start giving, you'll start being blessed. We need revival among the preachers. Renewal among the preachers and we need to have a good healthy respect. I was preaching in a district north, south, east, and west of here. got through one afternoon in the seminar and this little woman came up. She she she was she she looked like a walking, put her hands on her little hips and looked me and shook her shoulder and said, "I'm glad you're not my pastor." I said, "Dtoe." I'm glad I'm not either. And she said, "I just plain don't like you." I said, "No love lost." She said, "You're not much of a man of God." I said, "Only because you're not a saint." Well, you want preachers to be some liy liver chicken. get offended every time they preach against your television. Every time they talk about paying your tithe, you want to swell up like a toad frog. What they need to do is get louder. Turn the PA system up louder. Blow their carcass out of the congregation. But dear God, we need preachers to preach unfettered without fear and favor and compromise. And the only way they're going to be able to do that is if there's a good healthy congregation that when they're preaching the word of God to stand and shake their fist at the preacher and say, "Preacher, preacher. Sit down. I got give me about three more minutes. had a lady was paying me almost 11 $1,200 a week tithe. She was a fat cat. And she sat down beside me one day in Bible study, pointed her finger at 1 Corinthians chapter 11 and said, "Do you preach that?" I said, "Is it in the book?" She said, "It's right there." I said, "Then why do you ask if I preach it? Didn't I swear before Almighty God that I'd preach the word to this group without fear, favor, or compromise? She said, "Yes." She said, "You preach that?" I said, "Is it in the Bible?" She said, "Do you preach it?" I said, "I sure do." She said, "Then I'll have to go find me another church." It started in my feet, this burning sensation. When she joined the church, I started driving a better car. When she joined the church, I got to eat someplace besides McDonald's. When she joined the church, my neck ties turned into silk. When she joined the church, friend, I started wearing a better brand of suit instead of that French suit, Jacqu Penet. And I looked at her with that suit that I had bought with her tithing, wearing the shoes that I had bought with her tithing, and and and and and standing there with the food in my belly that I bought with her tithing. And I said, "Lady, I knew you and before you came to our church, and I'm going to eat when I forget what your name was, and I'm having the hardest time right now remembering what her name was." We don't need people in a congregation telling their preacher to compromise, compromise, compromise, compromise. Don't preach that. Don't preach that. We need to get our eyes off the compromising churches across town and not demand our preacher let down. But we

need to support the man of God in our pull pit like we've never supported him before. He's fighting devils out of hell that he never had to fight before. And he needs people that love him. Number four, I got two minutes to cover, too. You know, if I would have suffered what she suffered, it would have been hard for me to have respect for God anymore. Why did God do this to me? I've seen people lose grandparents 90 years old and look the preacher square in the face mad at God because grandpa Jones died and went to heaven full of the Holy Ghost and it was God's fault. It was God's fault. He did it. Blame him. While you're blaming him for taking grandpa to heaven, you ought to be shouting about it, too. Instead of walking away, say, "I ain't never coming back to church cuz that's the way God going to treat us." I am preaching. I feel it here. Plenty of people mad at God because of a tragedy that they faced in their life. She refused to lose her faith in God. Now, before be before you start bragging too much about the Jews and about them turning back to God and before you think there's a mighty revival among the Jews, I want to remind you that the Jews have suffered seven holocaust in their past. Seven major holocaust. Each time they rebounded from those holocaust and came back. But in the last holocaust, 7 million of them scraped off the ovens of Dao and Bukinwall and Oshulus. Something happened to the Jewish nation. And there are more atheist Jews today than has ever been. We talk about Christian Jews and they make up less than 1% of the Jewish people. We talk about Jews that even believe in God. We look at the Orthodox Jew with a little curl on the side of his head and we think all Jews are like that. But the truth of the matter is that the Jewish people as a whole do not believe in God anymore because they did not recover from the last Holocaust. This girl was able to recover herself from the destruction of her village and her people and forgive her murderer and and and restore herself and have faith in the man of God. But friend, it was just as important that she have faith in the God of the man. And she said boldly, "I've got a God that can heal you. I've got a God that let my mama die and my daddy die and my uncle die. But that God who killed that that man who killed my people, my God will also heal that man. and friend when they packed up and went to Israel. Those who should have had confidence in God and should have had confidence in the man of God didn't even know the man of God's address and didn't know anything about a God that healed. The king of Israel became angry that non said, "There's a prophet that'll heal me in your country." And he was angry because he knew nothing about Jehovah Roi and and Elisha sent him and called for him and when they came to the man of God's house. You know the story of how he sent out the servant. And and I've often wondered why Elisha did not come and meet the man that brought deliverance to Syria and protected the kingdom of Israel from its other enemies. But he said, "You go tell him to dip seven times in the River Jordan." It wasn't because he was such a holy prophet that that that that he was so important that he didn't want to meet that man. But friend, a long time before they ever got there, he heard about a little girl whose parents were destroyed, whose family was destroyed that sent that man to him. And there was no way he was going to take the glory

away from that little girl and walk out there like a prophet and touch him and get all the glory when the glory belongs to that little girl that's unnamed in the Bible. I want you to hear me. Uh, have faith in God. Have faith in God. I know it looks dark. I know it looks evil out there. But there's a God in heaven that says, "In the last days, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh." Am I making sense? And there's one. Let's stand together. I preached for an hour just to get right here. She said, "I would to God that he knew about the prophet that is in Israel." I've been in the United Pentecostal Church since June the 5th, 1967. That's a little over 30 years. I have had more people prophesy splits to me. The UPC is going down, down, down. It's going down the tubes. The UPC's got disunityity. UPC is this. There's even some brother that think we're the Antichrist. Talk about us like we're a bunch of devils and they tote cards in their pockets. You better hear me. We better get our mouth off the United Pentecostal church because there is a God in the United Pentecostal church that will heal you. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. No wonder they're not having revival because they think God has left the United Pentecostal church when the truth of the matter is that the only one that God has walked away is those that says God has walked away. Yeah, I had healings in our service this past Monday night. The preacher couldn't hardly preach. We had five altar services before the evangelist ever got to the floor. We had healings, people laying out in the floor, baptizing the Holy Ghost, a God of the United Pentecostal church. There is revival in the United Pentecostal church. I preach for all the other organizations. I have no bones against them. But let me just tell you one thing. God hadn't forgotten where we are either. He's anointing the preachers of the United Pentecostal Church. Just like he said, there's a God in Israel that'll heal you. Uh there's a God in the United Pentecostal church. And there's a God in your church. I said there's a God in your church. I said there's a God in your church. There's a God in your church. There's a God in your church. I said there's a God in your church. Somebody ought to be shouting. Somebody ought to be talking in tongues because there's a God in your church tonight. Let's clap our hands to the Lord. Turn around. Turn around and say, "I forgive you. Come on, let's practice. Come on, turn around. Somebody else say, "I forgive you. I don't know what you've done against me, but you're forgiven." Hallelujah. Come on, turn around to somebody say, "I am forgiven." Come on, tell them, "I'm forgiven." I'm forgiven. You know why I'm forgiven? Because I have forgiven. I have laid your offense aside and God has laid my offense aside and I got the best deal. Hey, leap for joy. Everybody leap for joy. Come on, get your carcass up. Come on, you dead heads. Get off the floor. Get a renewal of the Holy Ghost. Get a renewal of the Holy Ghost. Oh yes. Hallelujah. Start telling the sinner. Start telling your friends, "There's a God in church that'll heal you. There's a God in church that'll heal your baby. There's a God in church.
