Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
God Is Good — and Somebody Says Amen
- The preacher opens by declaring that God is good and drawing the congregation into the old-school response of shouting "Amen."
- "Amen" is presented as an everyday word: it closes prayers at the table and at bedtime, and it is the natural reply when someone states something true.
- Responding is more than repeating a phrase — like believers he saw in the Latin countries, God's people should not just say it but do it, actually praising the Lord.
A Covenant God Who Placed His Name on His People
- Recapping the year's study, he teaches that God made a covenant with humanity — a commitment and a promise — and gave people a way to connect with him, know him, love him, and serve him.
- God placed his name over his people and declared, "I will be your God and you will be to me a people," establishing a relationship with communication between God and man.
- God taught his people everything required of them — how, what, when, where, and with whom — promising to protect, defend, and lead them if they would give themselves to his requirements.
- The promises of God are yea and amen, and they do not end with one generation: parents pouring into their children at church is how the next generation learns to worship and love the Lord.
Scriptures: Acts (book-only, as spoken)
Deuteronomy 6: Teach Them Diligently to Your Children
- He reads the commandments, statutes, and judgments given for the land they would possess: fear the Lord, keep his commandments — you, your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life.
- The heart of the passage is declared: "Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord," and God is to be loved with all the heart, soul, and might.
- The words commanded that day are to be in the heart, taught diligently to children, and talked of when sitting in the house, walking by the way, lying down, and rising up.
- They were to be bound as a sign on the hand, kept as frontlets between the eyes, and written on the posts of the house and on the gates — God's aim was not one-time delivery but concepts his people would immerse themselves in until it became who they are.
Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6
Do Not Forget That God Is Good
- Human beings are good at forgetting — people lose phones and even the glasses on their own heads — but losing the reality of who God is loses more than anything that can be recovered.
- Israel recited, reviewed, and remembered the commandments every single day; in the same way, the house of God should be a non-negotiable first appointment on the calendar, not an option to argue over.
- He recalls being raised in church service after service and sleeping under the pew as a child because his mother was afraid to miss church — and the testimony services of that generation, when people talked openly of the goodness of the Lord.
- Today's testimonies get measured against social media and other churches, but God's word is more than letters on a page: like the prisoner of war who read one Bible page thousands of times in captivity, a believer who learns, speaks, and remembers the word will see God move.
- Knowing a few verses secondhand is not knowing the Bible; the call is to truly learn the things of God, because living for Jesus is the best life that can be lived.
Aaron at the Veil: Confidence Built on the Word Learned
- God gave Moses exact instructions for the tabernacle and the priesthood, because his people could fall and falter; Moses showed, demonstrated, and lived those instructions before them.
- Even with Moses on the mountain, the children below asked for a calf — a warning that this generation can be just as mixed up.
- On the day of atonement, the tenth day of the seventh month, the high priest Aaron passed the veil into the holy of holies under specific instructions carried out exactly as God designed, with no place for error.
- Reviewing the year's study — the outer court, the altar of sacrifice, the laver, the table of showbread, the golden candlestick, and the altar of incense — he pictures Aaron washed and dressed in fine linen, clean in every detail, standing face to face with God.
- Aaron could stand there unafraid, without anxiety or guilt, because the law of God had been put in his heart, mind, and spirit: he had done what was required, carried the sacrifice's blood and the incense, and simply waited by the altar for God's invite through the veil.
- There was no door in the veil and nothing Aaron could hide from God, who already knew the thought and intent of his heart — his confidence rested on trusting that his brother had heard everything God said and accomplished it.
So Let It Be: Grace Through the Obedience of One
- Aaron's stance at the veil defines the sermon's title word: "amen" by definition simply means "so let it be" — I accept it as it is.
- He reads Paul's contrast: by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, and by the obedience of one many are made righteous; where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, reigning through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ.
- Sin entered through Adam, but Jesus became the payment and the blood sacrifice; at Calvary the veil of the temple was rent from top to bottom, opening the holy of holies to view.
- When a believer declares amen, he is identifying with the fact that God has already given everything needed to make things right — God is not holding back a remaining portion of salvation for later.
- No one can create more of Jesus, draw more blood from him, or put him back on a cross; through repentance, baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, a person is born into the body of Christ and can be certain of his future.
Scriptures: Romans 5:19-21
Settle It — and Teach It at Home
- He calls people covered in guilt and shame — including his own memory of lying awake as a teenager afraid of dying unprepared after playing church — to accept that God can wash, renew, and make them new instead of dragging shame as a crutch.
- His mother's story of a red cloud seen over her house after prayer meeting, matched the same night over his sister's church where people had been praying and seeking God, pictures what God manifests for people hungry enough to say, "You said it; that settles it; so let it be."
- The settled response covers every promise: God is a healer, a way maker, a provider — his word does not lie, so it can be received without argument, and believers can walk into God's presence through the veil with confidence.
- In the altar call the congregation prays for one another, repeating the confession together: "You said it, I receive it — amen, so let it be."
- He demonstrates generational teaching by speaking the words "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord" directly to his young grandchild — hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord — and urges parents to declare it to their children when they rise, when they lie down, and when they go out the door, so children can stand firm against the lying voices of the world.
- The service closes with prayer pleading the blood of Jesus over every home and family and rebuking the devil, followed by the priestly blessing in which God's name is put upon the children of Israel.

Pray with me, church, before we go to the word. Lord, today we are humbled at your presence. We are thankful for grace. Thankful for mercy. Thankful Lord that you don't stop loving us. Lord, I make myself again on one more time available to you. Lead us today in the plain path. Show us the way, God. Speak life. Speak life today. Great is your faithfulness, Jesus. Somebody say in Jesus name. Amen. You can be seated if you feel like you have to. Welcome all online who've joined with us.
Our guest, we're so glad that you're here today. Now, I warned the uh roll call prayer, our 10:30 prayer. I warned them. I hadn't preached in two months. So, today's going to be a a long day. It's uh 12:59. Good. At least I'm before 1:00. Um, it's another opportunity to serve the Lord today. Thank you so much, brother Duron. It's a it's a great day to know him. I will declare in this place today, everyone listening to my voice in the room or online, I will declare God is good.
God is good. If you hear that phrase in a church service or or any other setting where there's a group of believers, you are probably inclined to hear a response. When somebody says, "All I know is God is good." But somebody always shouts back. And then the rest of you say, "God is good." And then some of you will just take the bold statement and you'll step out and just shout, "Amen." So let's try this. God is good all the time. Somebody shout amen. Amen. See, that's old school kind of stuff when you used to just kind of do things.
Sam mentions it every once in a while. He'll say, "Praise the Lord." And y'all repeat what that's not what that's for. That is basically a Hey, wow. Praise the Lord. And somebody ought to just praise the Lord. You know, Brother Rob was up here a moment ago talking about missions. Man, we were in the Latin countries working and as soon as somebody get up and glorios, the place would blow up. Why? Because they didn't just say it, they just did it. That's what it looks like from where I stand.
An occasional. So, let's try it again. God is good. Amen. God is good. When you finish up one of your prayers, whether it's at the dinner table or whether it's over before you go to bed, at the conclusion of that prayer, you would probably close that prayer with that one little word that's four letters. Let's say it together. Amen. That's right. conversation with somebody and you want to interject with them and they they may say something to you like, "Man, the other day that was really a heavy rainstorm." You might would come back and say, "Amen.
I I believe it." You know, every once in a while, amen has to come out of your mouth. That's right. Huh? Now, I know that we do live in 2025. I won't I don't want to offend anybody, but a woman doesn't sound the same as I'm just saying. So, let's try it again. God is good. Amen, somebody. God is good. Now, we have traveled this year of 2025 with the power and the presence of God in our hearts and in our minds. We have connected ourselves to him as the people of God.
And we are revealing through our study from January until now that God indeed had a plan for humanity. A bond, a connection was there. It was established in historical accounts. You can read in your Bible and you can go into commentaries and so forth. God made a covenant with man. He made a commitment. He made a promise and he confirmed the power of that promise by giving to humanity the people here on planet earth if you will. He gave them a way that they could indeed connect with him spend time with him know him, love him, serve him.
And through that, we've understood this year to date that God placed his name over the group of people. And he even said to them, "I will be your God and you will be to me a people." There's going to be a relationship. There will be communication one with the other. You go into your Old Testament accounts and you can find here that God made sure that humanity understood everything that would be required of them. How many you know that God won't require something of you lest he teach you and tell you?
Come on somebody. How to, what to, when to, where to, with whom to. God gave all of these instructions in the word of God. And we know that he himself wanted to be known amongst his people. He gave laws. He gave guidelines. Anybody showing up on Wednesday night midweek Bible study, he gave his stipulations. He told them that if they would understand and if they would give themselves to things that he required of them, that he would show he would protect them. He would defend them.
He would stand in the gap by them. and he would lead them in places that nobody else had ever gone before. Come on. God wanted a relationship with his people. There is a concept here. There's a precept here that we have to understand it. Listen to me. It was not simply going to be let me take a moment and teach you something. But instead, it was the God of all creation that said, I'm going to take the time that is necessary here. to the preacher today and I'm going to get this in you.
Uh you're going to learn about this. You're going to understand it. Listen, this is not simply for you and for it to die next week. No, but it is for you. It is for the next generation. It is for the next generation. It even declares to us in the New Testament. Oh, I feel the preacher now in the book of Acts that there's a promise that's to you. And that promise doesn't just start at Jerusalem. It don't go just to Judea. It don't go just to Samaria, but it goes to the uttermost part of the earth.
It don't stop with your grandmama. It don't stop with your grandbaby. But the word of God, the promises of God are yay and amen. You need to know something, mom, dad. When you're coming to church, uh you're pouring into that next generation. Somebody's going to need to know, uh, how do I worship the Lord God? How do I give myself to the things of God? They're not going to learn it falling out of a tree, but they're going to learn it when mom and dad say, "This is how we worship.
This is how we love the Lord. This is what we do in our house. It's for generation to generation." Somebody say it to generation. God is good. You got to tell somebody. Let your kids know uh in the darkest hour, God's still good. When it don't make sense, God is still good. Uh when nobody else gets it, God is still good. Amen, somebody. Amen. I told y'all I ain't preaching too much. We find in then the first five books of the Bible. That's where we've been spending our time.
Over the last several months, we've been talking about it. But notice this. There's a book in the Bible. The Old Testament is so cool. So incredibly cool. It's called Deuteronomy. And it's for our instruction. There are specific teachings that God made sure that when the people of God were going to go about in in their world that they would know what they're talking about. A side note here. We Okay. Still, it's 107. I've only been going seven minutes. In the New Testament day of Pentecost, do you want to know why that the church was added to with such a massive number?
Huh? Cuz if it were just a handful that sat up in the upper room for a few minutes, and came out, kicked the dust off their feet, and walked down the road, the whole village, the whole community, the whole city would have simply said, "I don't know what happened." But instead, the Lord God knew what was about to transpire even in 2025. Therefore, the multitudes came in the streets and what did what is this talk? What are they doing? These guys are drunk. They were associating their actions and activities with what they understood.
But lo and behold, in the middle of that particular setting, Peter stood up and said, "Hey, they're they're not drunk as you think you suppose." Look what time they not drunk. You need to get off of that. I'm going to tell you this is that. And when he began to establish that, he was letting them to know it is from this point forward. Now listen to me. Old Testament stuff. Come on, somebody say the old is okay. All right. The older you get, you'll say it more and more.
Now, these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments. were in Deuteronomy 6 and 1, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land whether you go to possess it, that thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou thy son, thy son's sons, all the days of thy life, and that thy days might be prolonged. Verse three, hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it, that it may be well with thee, and that you may increase mightily, as the Lord God of the F of thy fathers hath promised thee in the land that flowth with milk and honey.
This is what he declares here. O Israel, the Lord our God, is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God, that is one, with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Six. Notice this. And these words which I command thee this day shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt hear it, teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sitest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou riseest up.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand. and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes, and thou shalt write them upon the post of thy house and on thy gates. Uh, I'm back in the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy. And what I've discovered here is that God was not interested in one time delivering something. But God was more interested in establishing hear the preacher concepts and precepts that they could learn that they could wrap around themselves that they could immerse themselves into it and more than just a way to recite words.
It would become who they are. I I come to ask somebody today, has God been good to you? then say God is good. See, there's only one way you could declare the response to that is because you have learned in your life that whether you've known God four days or 400 years that God is good. Uh his mercy endureth through all generation. Therefore, you can sit up in this room right now and say, uh when somebody said God is good, you've got a quick response. You may not be able to do that in the middle of a valley or when all hell's broke loose in your life.
But if somebody simply says to you, uh, "God is good." I'm using that as a phrase, you can respond. Why? Because you teach it to your kids. Because when you lay down, you talk about the goodness of the Lord. Uh, when you walk in the way, you talk about the goodness of the Lord. Uh, when you get up out of the chair, you talk about the goodness of the Lord. I'm sick and tired of people being sick and tired of living for God. I'm telling you, if God never did anything else for you, this is still the very best life that you could live.
Knowing that streets of gold are in your future, knowing uh that the plans of God are unfolding in your life. God is good. Amen. You better teach your children. Teach your sons. Teach your sons son. You better teach every generation that's to come. God knows what humans are really good at forgetting things. Don't show your hand today. Don't look at your neighbor. But has anybody ever forgot something? I don't know how people lose their phone. Where's my phone? Where my Where my my phone? That thing that ain't never come out of your hand for the last 38 years.
You know what I'm saying? I can't find my phone. I can't wasn't long ago I was working. Someone had glasses on there. Where my glasses? I can't find my glasses. Somebody say, I mean, we lose stuff. Come on, say we lose things. But if you lose the reality of who God is, you have lost more than anything you'll ever recover. You better understand that whether you're good or not, he's still good. Whether you got all the answers or not, God still got all the answers. Whether you've got everything in control doesn't mean that God doesn't have everything in control.
Come on. You need to let the lies of the enemy die out today in this altar and declare Lord whether if I never hear from you again. If I never hear your audible voice again, I still believe and I still trust you because you are good. Somebody say amen. God is good. Now God gave these commandments, these these rules, call them what you will, these statutes, these principles every day. Again, listen to this. every single day they would have to recite them, review them, remember them.
It wasn't simply, you know what, on Sunday we're going to go to the house of the Lord, and if we get there on time, we're going to consider it a win. High five. If we get there a minute before church, we're going to consider it to be a victory. And if we can just drag oursel in there, we're going to say, "Well, the Lord take me as I am." that old song. Some of y'all come in here some just as I am coming in late. Okay, I'm not I'm not meddling.
I'm just telling you this. Oh Lord, don't let me get in trouble today. That if you truly understood what God has done for you and what God has been to you and how he has worked in your life, you would do everything you could do morning, noon, and night to talk of the goodness of the Lord. Church would not be something that drags you down. Church would be something that you look forward to. The house of God would not be a treasury. It would not be something that you would want your kids to know it's an option.
Come on. If God has really been good to you, then the first thing you set down on your calendar every week is going to be we got church on Sunday, we got church on Wednesday. It's non-negotiable. We don't arm wrestle over it. We don't flip a coin. We don't do rock paper sit. None of that's going to happen. when it's church time, we're going to be in the house of the Lord. Some of y'all young folk want to complain about it. Maybe let me remind some of you older folks uh back in the Sunday morning times and the Sunday night times and the Monday night prayer and the Tuesday night outreach and the Wednesday night Bible study and the Friday night youth service and the Saturday.
Come on, let me remind somebody day after day going to the house of the Lord. Were we ever tired in our body? You better believe it. But I vividly remember the times as a child sleeping under the pew. Yeah. Why? Because mom and dad were scared to death to miss church. My mom, she'd say off, I don't want to miss church. Said why not, mom? Cuz what if something happens and I don't I don't I ain't there. What could possibly happen? She said, absolutely. Was anybody here a few months ago when somebody got up out of a wheelchair, walked out of here healed?
Was anybody here for that? Anybody? Why? Why? Why? Weren't Weren't you here for that? I know everybody. Oh, that service I miss. I don't even Anyway, I didn't see I didn't see it on social media. We get all nervous, though. We get all nervous. We We get all scared because it's got to be on Facebook. See, that's that's that's our crutch now. Lord, hell, I never thought that that would happen. We can't believe it's a miracle from God unless it's on Facebook. Somebody knows I'm talking about.
You're about to bust right now wanting to point at somebody in your family. So, I told you just sit down. Just sit there. Be quiet. Listen to me. There you There once was a day, y'all going to call me old, but there once was a day that we did testimony service. Some of these old-timers are getting all No, it ain't happening today. It ain't going to happen right now. I get scared to death. Anybody remember those, huh, man? I thought, Lord, I didn't even know the devil could do those things.
Devil got all kind of credit for stuff. I'm like, he I didn't know he Anyway, there was those few times growing up when the microphone got a little loud and and and out there and some pastors have trying to get the mic away from them because they had a little Whoa, that's good. That's good. No, don't be telling that on them. You know, now I I I what I do is I try to I try to help. All right, I need you to say something on Sunday.
You got 30 seconds. Don't make me smack you. Yeah. Some of y'all know what them Old Testimony services were about, huh? Yeah. Yeah. We was visiting a church. I don't know why I'm talking. You visit a church one time and and I just got Yeah. You You can testify. Come on. There. There was a reason that those things mattered in that generation and culture because when you talk of the goodness of the Lord, I I I'm I'm going to try to stay out of trouble, but you know, I love you and I'm your pastor.
But today, you got to take where it's presented now, testimonies are, and you got to compare it with everybody else's, and you got to put it up alongside what's happening across town at their church and what's happening across the And then you got things that's happening in our world, and don't nobody trust them, don't believe them. Because if it's on Facebook, it doesn't lie. Huh? When's the last time you're witnessing testimony, you got to work to on Monday, let's just say, and somebody at work said, "How was your weekend?" You know what?
God is good all the time. God blessed my family yesterday. God moved in my life. God filled somebody with the Holy Ghost. Hey, somebody got baptized in Jesus name. When's the last time that you just got and you didn't You know what? Here, I can prove it. I'm meddling now, Brother Gibson. You better come help me. But at that time, in that moment in the book of Deuteronomy, God was so interested in the people that he said, "This is something you better teach. These are statutes and commandments.
You talk about them morning, noon, and night." Why? Because wherever humanity is, you have the capability of forgetting that God is good. We There are many generations in this place today. Many generations represented in this room. As we sit here today in in in the days of understanding the old times, there's a there's a few that can testify and and witness about it. Watch watch me get in trouble. Is there anybody here that remembers eight track tapes? See, there's a handful of folk that can remember that.
There are folk here that can in order to rewind it, you'd have to what? You'd have to turn it, fast forward it, flip it, put it back. That's how you did cassette tapes back in the good old days. Yeah. My mom when she passed away, she said all the kids were she had boxes of cassette tape. Everybody want these? And everybody's like, "I don't even know what they are. I don't know how to play them." My mom was sitting in her little chair in the I talk about mom a lot.
Don't she sit in her little chair moving her legs just to have a little She have her headphones on with her tapes. Mom, what are you listening to? Well, I don't know. Huh? Well, it's going to say the Lord will be the stretch tape. Remember that Tim? It stretch the tabernacle of the congregation. Listen to me. We are learning since the first of the year that the tabernacle of the congregation, God would say to his people, if you will do what I tell you to do and you will follow the commandments that I give you and you will gather the materials and people will give of the things that they have for this purpose.
I will do something in your midst that has never ever been done before. The ability that there was actually a possibility to forget the things that God was telling his people is amazing. To generations in the past, there was no argument. There was no concern about it. But I've come to make somebody aware today that in that particular day, you were going to know the commandments of God. You were going to talk about them. You were going to memorize them frontwards, backwards, up and down. At a young age, you were going to know verses, if you will.
They didn't have the Bible like we have now. They had laws and they would memorize them, talk about them, talk about them, memorize them. They would repeat them over and over again. Why? Because what you and I today called the good book, the Holy Bible, it's more than a simple story that was talked about from previous generations. But you can get in the word of God. You can know just a few verses. But if you'll get that word of God and you'll begin to speak that word of God and you'll begin to remember that word of God, God will begin to move and things will happen in your life.
Come on. Testimony after testimony has been given. For an example, in the Vietnam War, the guy was a prisoner of war and he had one page in a Bible, but he read over it thousands and thousands of times. And in the midst of being in captivity, something would happen in that little cell in which they put him. Why? Because the word of God is powerful. It is sharp. It's more than just letters on a page. It's more than a swipe left to right. But that word of God, if you'll learn and you'll understand, it'll begin to show itself.
Come on. You can be in the worst position in your life. Uh but begin to simply declare the word of God. Uh and think of the goodness of God. And in that place, God will show up and he'll begin to work miraculous things. Come on. We can't limit him to what your iPad says or what your Facebook account reveals. But if you'll get in the word, you'll discover uh that our God is an awesome God. Uh that our God is a jealous God. That our God is a mighty good God.
Uh that we can talk about him and learn of him and we can remember his goodness and teach it to generations to come. Ah, the more you know him, the more you know. Well, that's profound. Come on. You can be the dumbest guy in the room, but you get the word of God activated in your life and people will think you're full of wisdom and all that and a box of cracker jacks. Man, that guy I've had people tell me through my life, boy, that guy over there, he knows the word, man.
That dude got the he walking, he got the word, man. He He knows the word. I said, great. Wonderful. and you just start a conversation and you find out all kind of thing. I didn't know Moses built the ark, but that's what that God said when Shadrach, Madiac, and Shadabach went up there on the cross. Some of y'all know people like that's why you're laughing. Oh Lord, don't that's my aunt. She don't know nothing. You know what I'm saying? No, they don't know the Bible. They heard a few vers.
Oh Lord, don't let me get in trouble today. when you would learn the things of God. Living for Jesus is the best life that you could ever live. I wish somebody would shout amen as loud as you can. Knowing his love for you and his plans for you ought to excite you every every single day. I wish somebody would shout amen. Let's take just a minute to look at something here. I'm watching my clock. I'm still okay. I I want to I want to show you a few things about the Old Testament methods.
God gave instructions to Moses, his man. Moses, I need to talk to you. I need to communicate with you. I'm going to give you a series and a set of principles and laws and guidelines because my people are going to be people that can fall and falter and go by the wayside. But if I speak it to you and you then turn show it to them and demonstrate it to them and live it before them and be to them what I'm saying to you, we already know that God has done such miraculous things.
Listen to it. In the face of controversy, Moses is on the mountain and the children are down at the bottom saying, "Where's God? Build us a calf." Come on. That's how close they were. I mean, right there, Sister Gina, all they had to do was look up and they just saw him. But instead, they're looking around for Oh, Lord. Tell me this generation can't be mixed up, too. The law said on the 10th day of the seventh month will be a day of atonement, the day to be at one with God.
Specific specific instructions were given for that moment. The high priest would go into the holy place and from there he would go into the holy of holies. Every detail, every presentation, every purpose, every design plan was to be carried out exactly the way that God had designed it to work. No place for error. Is it any wonder that God told Moses, "You make sure they know this stuff. You make sure they know these laws. They need to know I'm serious about this because when I give them something to do, I expect for them to follow.
I am their God and they are my people." Have you ever heard of a jealous God? No room for error. Now, my lot this month, of course, is the veil. Listen to me. And I I've been thinking long and hard about this because I I can I in my mind I Y'all know I got a weird brain and I I want to understand things and I I can jump in and get so covered over. But the high priest, his name was Aaron. Everybody say, "Aaron." Look at your neighbor and say, "Aaron was the high priest.
Okay, that's a lesson for you to learn. Aaron was whose brother? Okay, there another lesson. Tell somebody, you know, this is what Okay, you see how this works in church, right? His brother Moses was the one, listen to this, that would go into the presence of God. God would speak to Moses, "Such are my precepts. Such are my laws. This is how it's to be done. This is how it's to be accomplished." And we know through our study this year that every detail of the tabernacle God gave to Moses.
And then God gave wisdom to men to be able to accomplish the gold and the silver making and the bronze making and the linen and the fine twined linen and the shoebre and the oil. All the pieces that would be needed for incense and for the ark and for the coverings and for the skins and all the stuff that was God gave all of that to Moses. Listen to pastor for a moment please. Aaron though is called the high priest. Aaron now is about to go into the presence of God past the veil into the holy of holies.
Now there are very specific instructions that are given to Moses concerning the priesthood. The very fact that Aaron was to be the one to deliver the blood and the incense into the Holy of Holies would lead us to understand that Aaron was res accepting the responsibility for what Moses his brother had heard from God. On that day of atonement, that 10th day of the seventh month, there had been an instruction. There had been teaching. There had been laws and precepts and concepts that had been taught to them since they were children and they were learning these things and they were they were understanding them.
We're we're discovering these things this year about what details that God gave. But something though has jumped out at me at this point. We've talked about the outer court. We talked about outside the tabernacle. We talked about the white curtain. We talked about the way you come. You bring your sacrifice. You kill the sacrifice. You give it to the priest. Everybody remember these studies? And we talked about the altar and how that there would be sacrifice made there and then the portion that was kept would be washed and then the priest would use the labor of water to wash and there were bowls and there were tongs and there were forks and there were way instruments that were made out of gold that were used for this.
And then then we we've studied how that from there it would pass into the holy place and that there was a table of showbread that they'd have to bake this particular bread and it would sit there and it would be provision for the preacher and and and then and then they'd have frankincense on there and then it had a golden candlestick 90 some almost 100 pounds this thing weigh beaten out of gold. It couldn't be poured and it had oil that all the and then last month we learned about the altar of incense and how that this had to be a continuous smoke that that filled the holy place.
All of these things that we have discovered, there's something that in the next couple of months that the teachers are going to instruct us on, and that is what happens behind the veil. But today, I I'm I'm looking at this story, and there's something about Aaron. The Bible says that he had to put on linen, fine linen, breaches, that's coverings of his legs, and then a coat covering for the top. And a miter, that's a turban almost that would set upon his head. Everything about he would have to clean under his nails.
He would have to wash the blood from his fingers. He'd have to make sure that everything about what he was about to do was clean because if there was any spot, blemish, wrinkle, mess up, Aaron was going to be standing face to face with God. So, I told you my brain works in such weird ways. Imagine Aaron looking at his brother. Are you sure about this, Mo? Yeah. Yeah, it's what God It's I think I'm I'm pretty sure that's what God No, no, no, no, no.
See, you're going to be out here and I'm going to be going in there. I just want you to understand something, bro. You better not. You better make sure you heard everything right. Imagine Moses down there. Um, I mean, y'all, anybody here got a brother? Yeah, y'all laugh. You know, Seth, would you trust your brother? He's sitting over there. Oh, Lord, just let him be saved. Lord, just let him be saved. Chris, am I right? Aaron is simply going by what his brother Moses is telling him.
This is how you're gonna have to do it, Aaron. This is how it's been shown to me and this is how we've done it when we first did this. Aaron is standing there. I I in my mind in my mind and in my imagination I might should say I can imagine him standing there with the bowl of blood from the selected sacrifice and the incense and he was a facing the veil. Brother Rob, what was going through his mind? See, we don't understand it because we didn't have that law.
Huh? Some some of you right now, some of you just the last 13 seconds, you've repeated the verse in the New Testament that says that when Jesus died, the veil was rent from top to bottom. Some of y'all are like, "Yeah, because there ain't no more veil." Yeah, let me teach you something about this. Aaron is standing at this veil. That's the altar of incense over here. You can barely see it. This is the best picture I could find because nobody was there. Who knew? He's standing here.
Blood put on to sprinkle incense to make sure that it was pure. And everything about his relationship with his brother, with his family, with his God are going through his mind. Listen to me. I am 100% convinced that the spirit of the Lord is confirmed with me. Aaron was not afraid. He was not anxious. He was not angry. He was not unsure because it had been put in Aaron in his heart, in his mind, in his spirit, the law of God. And as he stood there that particular day of atonement outside the veil, he knew beyond the shadow of a doubt, I have done what is required of me.
I am clean and I have no reason to be afraid nor fear. I have the sacrifice and its blood. I have the incense and what it smells. And I am going to stand simply here by this altar of incense and wait for God's invite through the veil. You study your history. You study this thing. The outer court had a curtain and they would draw back the curtain and you could come in with your sacrifice and you can offer it for your sin, trespass, for your peace offering, whatever the opportunity was.
From there, past the labor, you would come to the curtain that separated the Holy of Holies from the outer court. There, too, there was an opening. You could push your way in as the priest, and you'd walk in, and you'd make sure the lampstand was taken care of, and the table of showbread was taken care of, and the altar of incense was attended to, and then you would simply turn and back your way out. You could see in there, you could smell in there, and everything in that holy place was for what you had brought to give to God.
But the holy of holies was God and the priest. How could a man stand there and with 100% clear confidence and without guilt and without shame, without reproach, and without bearing some adverse thought stand there and simply wait for God to draw him through the veil. There was no door to the veil of the holy of holies. It was one curtain spread between four pillars of gold. Historians declare that when it was God's time, God would transport him through the veil and begin to converse with him.
I I I'll ask it this way. Does God know the thought and the intent of your heart? Mom and dad used to teach you this. You can't get away with nothing because God knows already. Come on. Come on. I'm convinced that Aaron, the high priest, standing outside the veil, there was no way he could hide anything from his God because he knew God already knew. But what would it be like today living in day of grace if many of us sitting in here covered in shame and guilt and failures and faults?
What would it be like if somebody in this room today before you leave this place, you could actually stand in the presence of God and say amen. Because the word amen by its definition by its definition simply means this. So let it be. If God today wanted to tell you that he was going to bless you with miracles, signs, and wonders, every one of us would shout, "Amen." But every one of us most likely would have doubt. We'd have questions. We would call ourselves unworthy. We would declare that we are not really what God wants us to be.
Listen to how this plays out. The book of Romans chapter 5 verse 19. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners. Listen to this. So by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Sin came in through Adam's disobedience. Anybody remember that story? But Jesus Christ became payment for that.
He became the blood sacrifice for that. And so on that day of Calvary and the Galatha shaking and the dark clouds and all the things that happened in the spirit world and in the earthly world and in the places that nobody even considered when that veil at that particular temple was rent from top to bottom. It all opened up and now anybody can see into the Holy of Holies. History says they scared him to death that they tried to put it back together and said, "No, something's happened.
It's this supernatural thing has happened and we've got to close this thing up because you're you can't look at the things inside the veil because if you do, you'll die." If that's the case, then I am convinced that Aaron stood there that day trusting 100% that his brother heard everything God told him to do and he accomplished it. And Aaron stood there as high priest on that 10th day of the seventh month simply to say I accept it as it is. Follow pastor and I say amen.
So let it be. I come to this podium today to try to help somebody understand that Jesus Christ was the sacrificial price for all of us. And more than just the finish or conclusion of a prayer over your meal. More than just a conclusion of a prayer when you're here or when you're there. When you declare amen, you are identifying with the fact that God has given you everything needed to make things right with him. He's not holding back some corner of something to say, shock, here it is.
You didn't do all of this. He's not here to say, you know what, I've just given you a part of it and then if you'll ever make a step, boom, I want to give you the rest. That's not how God listen. Listen to pastor very carefully, please. Every single ear in here, open up wide. You cannot create more of Jesus. You cannot create more salvation. You can't draw more blood out of him. You can't put Jesus back on a cross and say, "That was good for everybody else, but you don't owe my life." No, friend.
That's not how it is. I've come to declare to somebody on a Sunday afternoon at 1:42, if you care, that God is a God that is right all the time in all of the details of an Old Testament plan for humanity to be able to spend time with God. It relates to you and I today. Why? Because if we truly declare the goodness of the Lord and through the repentance and through baptism in Jesus name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, we are born into the body of Christ.
Then you and I can declare today, you know what, devil? I'm tired of listening to your lies. I refuse to subject myself to you. Uh but instead, I am a child of the most high God. I know that I am well able to sin. I recognize that I can falter and fail and I can hit the ground. Yes, I can. But sin and shame does not rule my life. Uh I stand today on this Sunday afternoon and I declare it loud and clear. Amen. Uh so let it be.
Uh I accept the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Amen. So let it be. Uh and just like every one of us a few moments ago, you would declare it. God is good all the time and all the time. God is good. I've come to say somebody, amen. Uh I receive that from you. Uh therefore, you can leave this place certain of your future. I know that I have made my call and my election sure. Uh I don't depend on salvation from you. Uh but it's from Jesus Christ.
Uh I don't need your blessing. I need his blessing. Uh I don't need your acceptance. I need his acceptance because if he's accepting me, uh, you will accept me. Stand to your feet, would you? Come on, brother Don. Amen. I'm wondering if Aaron's standing there with the sacrifice and the incense, ready to go into the very presence of God. I have nothing to fear. I have been washed. The blood has been shed. The incense has been prepared. I have the weight of the entire people of God on my shoulders and I accept it.
Sometimes I as a child again I know the weird brain people in here. Sometimes as a child I would imagine that people are stood at their tent doors and they is God going to accept it? Is God going to accept it? Brother Gibson, remember them old fiery preachers, man? They could I don't mind saying, man, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 years old, lay in bed at night scared to death I was going to die and go to hell. Some of y'all old-timers remember those messages. Some of you like, "Yeah, we need those today." Okay, you want to talk about hell?
That's the ugliest thing you could ever put in your brain. But there's a world out there running to it as fast as they can go. If we truly understood heaven, we would understand hell. Laying in my bed though as a teenager, I said, "Lord, I don't want to die tonight." But tonight at church, Lord, at the end of altar service, I I knew that I knew that I'd been playing. I knew that I'd been playing church. Lord, I'm sorry. I I didn't mean to play church.
I didn't mean to. I know right now under the sound of my voice online or here in this room, there are some of you so covered in guilt and shame because you can't accept the fact that he could actually wash you and renew you and make you new. and you drag that shame and guilt around because for some reason you can't turn loose of it. It has become your crutch and your reliability partner because if anything else you can identify with sin and shame. What would it be like today in this house at 1:47 in the afternoon if this room were to fill up with people that would not just stand here, but you would actually understand the power of amen and you would declare, "You said it.
That settles it. I receive it. You said it and as you said it, I receive it and I'm not going to argue with it. See, there's a lot of us today, Lord, help me. There's a lot of us today that want to declare the miracles of God, but we don't want to give up the things that we hold so dear. I I I'm convinced that the Latter-day Church is going to be so on fire that it's going to smell like smoke all the time. I'm I'm convinced that the latter days, the pull pits are going to be set ablaze with a flame that's going to burn and people are going to say, "What crazy things is this and they're going to know that it's the hand of the Lord." I I came into the house of the Lord this morning, went to my office and I can I can I reveal something to you?
many bunch of years ago, man. There was such a fire. People were so hungry for God when I was growing up. I I don't know what's different. I don't know what h I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. But I my mom my mom was coming home from prayer meeting. She lived way out in the country in a big old cabin, 200-y old cabin. And my little brother's in the car. Mom's driving home after Sunday night church and prayer and people in the altar.
And mom stops her car out in the middle of the road and is looking up. She's out in the country. There's no lights. There's no motor cars. Not a single I'm sorry. And over her house, Sister Sarah, was a red cloud. She said, I sat and me and Chris, my brother, were looking at this red cloud sitting over the house. She said, Chris, you see that baby? Mom, what is that? I don't know. House on fire. I don't know. She gently pulls up into the drive and making her way down that long drive.
Goes in the house. She calls my sister who's in church in Smyrn over in Middle Tennessee. She says, "Sabrina, I don't know, but I pulled in the drive tonight and there's this red cloud sitting over the house." And Sabrina sets the phone down and runs and runs. And mom says, "You okay? You okay? You okay?" Sabrina comes back said, "Mom, we're at church tonight. Tim and I just left the church." And we got in our car and looked up and there's a red cloud sitting above our church.
I said, "What y'all been doing?" We've been praying seeking the face of God. Brother Rob, I'm listening to this and I'm looking at that and all of a sudden it began to dawn on me. You can manifest the things of God if you're hungry and you're willing to say, "Amen. You said it. That settles it. So let it be." I'm convinced that there's a there's a generation that's coming that are going to say, "You know what? I am so tired of Hollywood. I am so tired of chats this and face that.
I'm so tired of that. If God would just simply show up, I'll stand here and I'll soak in every drop that he gives me. I'm convinced there's a group of young people that are going to decide, you know what? Amen. God is good and I settle that account right now. I'm not going to argue the fact that it's this, that, or that. I'm not going to say one thing against it, but I'm going to declare I am submitted to the things of God. The word of God is part sharp and powerful.
It can do things and Amen. I accept it. God said he's a healer. Amen. I accept that. God said he's a way maker. I accept that. I don't have to argue the point. I don't have to declare what I believe. I don't have to drop the gavl and say, "Hold on. I need to get a defense lawyer in here. I need to get a prosecution in here." No. I can simply say the word of God doesn't lie. And therefore, I am established on what God's telling me.
And when I get through the veil and I get into the presence of God, I don't have to be afraid that he's going to snuff out my life right there. But instead, I can declare, you said I can come into the holy of holies, and I can make my petition known unto you uh in the holy of holies. uh it doesn't have to lead me uh to stake my life or to hurt myself. But instead uh with confidence, God, I can walk into your presence and I can say, "Amen." You said it, I receive it.
So let it be. This service today, Brother Sam said it earlier, kind of quiet. I'm walking over here praying. Y'all know pastor got to get his brain working. Got runny nose happening here and y'all are so kind to put up with my gravel. Sound like an 80-year-old, aren't I? The Lord's saying they're quiet because I'm about to talk to them. I don't need their distractions. I need them to understand something. My word is settled. You ain't going to add to it, take away from it. Come on.
If you add one jot or tit, your name will be removed. Don't do it. Don't get caught in that. Don't But then God say, "Ain't we all God's children? Ain't we God just going to love us?" No, that that's what it say. It says right here that you better repent and be baptized and then you know what I'm saying. You better get that in your life. But then you settle it. Amen. So let it be. I receive it. I'm not arguing it. I'm not going to a court of law.
I'm simply going to say, "Hey, baby. You know what? God's a provider." Yes, he is. How? I don't know. But I know he's a provider. Amen. Is God good? Why? Amen. I believe God's good. Settle that in your spirit today. When you walk out of this room, you're going to walk out with full confidence. I know I'm a mess. I know that I've got all these junk that I'm dealing with, but I declare the whole council of God that he is working in my life and grace and mercy are having their way in my life.
Come on, this place right now, you ought to fill this altar with a praise and you ought to declare that God, I'm going to believe you at your word. I'm going to accept it. You gave the command and I'm going to receive it today as you have declared it. I don't have to fabricate something. I don't have to make up some third party. I don't have to get an app out. I don't have to follow what Siri or Google says, God, but instead I've got the word that you've given me, and I will settle it today.
Amen. Amen. So let it be. Come on, somebody. Come on, somebody. You need to get that liar out of your ear. Holiness matters to God. Baptism matters. The name of Jesus matters. The Holy Ghost matters. Settle it. Amen. Thus says the Lord. Amen. I receive it. Oh, come on. Every hand ought to be to heaven right now. Every mouth ought to be full of praise unto the Lord. You said it, Lord. I receive it, Jesus. Oh, come on, somebody. Come on, somebody. We're not going to sing right now.
Just that music's fine. But you you just need to say, "Lord, I I am so tired of the lies. I'm tired of trying to chase an answer. I'm tired of trying to dig something out, Lord, that I don't I'm just going to say, "Amen. Your word is enough for me. Your word is enough for me. Come on, mom and dad. Your kids are waiting on you to accept the reality of the word. Come on, young people. Your generation is waiting on you, to receive the word.
That's right. Jesus paid the price. It's enough. Come on. It's enough. It's enough. Come on. God can do the work. I need some prayer warriors right here, right now. Bring faith with you. Come on. Jesus, touch my sister Renee right now, Lord. She is your handmade. She believes in you. Come on. Come on, prayer warrior. Didn't the Lord say he was a healer? Come on. Didn't Isaiah say, "By his stripes, we are healed." Oh, come on. All the day long. We look for him. Come on.
It's real. I believe you for it. Amen. And I I receive it. Amen. Amen. Oh, come on, somebody. You young people need to be in this altar screaming to God, "Lord, I want your word to come alive in my life. I don't want to believe the lies of my culture, but I want to understand that you are yay and amen. You're right. It's settled. It's established. It's established. Jesus, you said it. You declare it. Oh, come on, somebody. Get up next to somebody and pray with them.
Lord, that the spirit, the word move in their life today. Let the glory of the Lord work in their situation. Lord, I pray. Oh, that's right. That's right. I will build. That's right. Oh, come on, Lord. You said it. Amen. I receive it. You said it. I receive it. I will put my trust in. You said it, Lord, and I receive it. I receive it. Amen. So, let it be. So let it be. So let it be. Jesus, as you have said it, I will accept it.
That's right. Come on, pray for somebody. Pray for somebody. Oh God, let your word become alive. Let your promises, Lord, come to life. Your word is enough. Your promises are enough. Yay and amen. Yay and amen. again. Amen. So let it be. Oh, that's right. Come on. Come on, somebody pray. Come on, somebody believe. Jesus. Sure foundation. Jesus. So let it be. I receive it, Lord. I receive it, Lord. I receive it, Jesus. Oh, come on. That's right. Come on. Find somebody else. Pray with them.
Come on. Somebody's going to pray the prayer of faith today. The miraculous can happen. Miracles can happen. I still believe in the miracles. I still believe in manifestation of your glory. I still believe in miracles. The name of Jesus. The name of Jesus. I still believe in a rugged cross. I still believe in the blood. Yes. I still believe in the blood. Hey, Jesus. Hallelujah. Come on, get up next to somebody else. Pray with them. Pray with somebody. Jesus. Your word says it. I say amen.
I receive it. Help my brother, Lord. Help my sister, Lord. Help them to receive what you've given to them. Come on, find somebody. Pray with them. We need to encourage one another. Amen is enough. Amen is enough. Yay. Amen. It's enough. Oh, that's right. That's right. Jesus. Yes, Jesus. Oh, that's right. Come on. Don't stop short. Receive the word, Lord. Amen. I I know your word is right. I'm going to believe you for it, Lord. Come on. The healer's in the house. Salvation's in the house.
The way maker's in the house. Deliverance is in the house. Come on, prayer warriors, where you at? Go to war. Go to war. Go to war. Devil, get your hand off this soul. Devil, quit lying to them. Quit lying to them. There is victory in their future. There is deliverance in them. Amen. I receive it, Jesus. I receive it, Jesus. I receive it, Jesus. Come on, young folk, pray. Get a hold of God, Lord. I don't know what else to do but trust you. I don't know how else to do it, Lord, but trust you.
Be the lamp, Lord. be the lamp to my feet. Show me the way. Come on, mom and dad. Pray over your children. That's right. Come on. Pray over your children. Jesus. Jesus. Come on, somebody. Press through the fear. Press through the doubt. Press beyond it. Victory in Jesus. Amen. Victory in Jesus. Amen. So let it be. So it's declared. Victory in Jesus. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Victory in Jesus. Oh, come on. That's right. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Hey. Yeah. Amen. I believe it. You said it, Lord.
It's done. You said it. I believe it. You said it. It is done. You said it in your word. Amen. I receive it. Oh, come on, somebody. You said it. You said it. I receive it. Say that. You said I believe. You said it is time. It is done. You said I believe. You said it is. It is done. Oh, come on. Somebody. Somebody needs to establish the biggest amen you've ever established. Lord, I settle it today. You said it, Lord. is done. You said it.
It is done. Oh, come on, somebody. Your spirit is stretching right now. Come on. You're You're walking past some doubt and fear right now. You're pushing past it. Come on. You're you're stepping into the realm to have faith to actually believe God can do a work. Miracles, signs, wonders will follow those who believe. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Come on, somebody. Victory. Victory. Victory. Hey. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Amen. I receive it. Amen. So let it be. Amen. I declare it. Amen. I receive it. Come here, buddy.
Hey, y'all. Y'all know y'all know how I feel about my grandbabies. The same way I feel about my babies. Watch how this works. This is so simple. Hey [name redacted]. Hey [name redacted]. Look at Poppy. Look at Poppy. Hey. Hey. Look you. Hey. Here. O Israel. The Lord our God is one Lord. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God. You hear Poppy? With all your heart, with all your mind, with all your strength. That's how you teach the next generation, man. He's so thrilled. All these lights.
Listen, mama. Here. O Israel. The Lord our God is one. Lord. Mom and dad, grab your youngans right now. Teach them that here. O Israel, tell something. Come on, tell your youngans. The Lord our God is one Lord. Come on. That's a lesson for the ages. Tell your kids, Mom. Tell your kids, Dad. Here, O Israel. Come on. Hero, O Israel. The Lord our God is one. You begin there. Amen. It's settled. It's settled here. O Israel, the Lord our God is one. it settled. Amen.
I receive it. I receive it from you. I receive it from you, Lord. Come on. You got to declare that in the when you get out of bed, when you lay down, when you go out the door, you declare it. Got to remind somebody, there's a lot of lying voices in this world that are trying to distract you. Church, listen to your pastor for a second. young young people, you need your parents in your life to help you to help you. You understand that you were not born knowing everything.
There's your counsel. You learn, you grow. Well, what's the Bible say, Dad? Here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one. Lord, thou shalt love the Lord thy God. You talk about him when you get up. You talk about him when you lay down. In the way you talk about him. Oh, okay. What's the word say, Mom? It says you love one another as he loves you. Come on. You love one another. Dad, what's the Bible say? It says you better make a decision now. Submit yourself to the things of God.
Let him raise you up. What's it say, Mom? It says to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of you teach that you show that that way when they're standing in front of their smart friends at school and they try to paint this picture brother Gibson that's a lie it's a it's from the hells of hells and they're trying to distract your kids and pull them down. Your child can stand up firm and say you know what that's not what my mom and dad told me.
What' they say? They said you was crazy. Come on. Every parent in here has had that conversation with your child. Hey, today at school, mommy, they said this. What'd you tell him? I told him that was a lie from hell. Woo. Oh, by the way, the teacher wants to see you in the classroom. Amen. Get a hold of somebody right now. We're going to pray for each other before we do our dismiss. Lord, we know we are not at all ignorant of the devices of the enemy.
We know that he is at work in this world because his time is short. He's trying to deceive the very elect. He's trying to deceive our children. But Jesus, your word is established. It's settled. Amen. And amen. I plead your blood right now, Lord, over every home, every heart, every family that's in this room, that's watching online, that's worshiping on their jobs today, God, or in their car. God, I I plead the blood of Jesus over each one. There is victory in the name of Jesus.
There is power in the blood of Jesus. Devil, we rebuke you in Jesus name. Turn loose of the people of God. pull your hands off the people of God. We are bought with a price and it was not you. It was the blood of Jesus. Devil, you're a liar and the father of it. We don't believe anything that comes out of your mouth and we rebuke it in Jesus' name. We take dominion over it right now. I plead the blood of Jesus over my children and over my grandchildren.
I plead the blood of Jesus. Let there be a hedge and a covering about them, Lord. Come on, somebody. You need to plead the blood of Jesus over your family. Jesus, victory is yours. Victory comes from you. Hey. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Now, you take that authority home and you walk in the door of your house today.
