Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Gathering, Prayer, and the Series So Far
- He gathers the Wednesday-night class toward the middle, welcomes the young people in, and leads a standing prayer over the many needs and sicknesses that have been brought to the church, believing the Lord is still a healer.
- He recaps January: God desired to spend time with His people, and gave Moses the exact directions, dimensions, and materials to fabricate a sacred place where He would meet with a peculiar, set-apart people.
- February, taught by Brother Gibson, covered what the people brought to the tabernacle; this past Sunday he taught the wall of separation, the linen curtain around the courtyard.
- The first lesson in making a sacrifice to God is separation: the animal was set apart and cared for fourteen days before it was ever brought, and the first lesson for today is to let God be first in everything.
Exodus 27: The Altar at the Entrance
- The class picks up in Exodus 27, and readers take turns reading verses 1 through 8 aloud — the plan of the altar, the very first item a person would see after walking into the tabernacle.
- There was one way in, through the entry curtain; the priest met the worshiper there, verified who he was and what he had brought, and everything had to be done decently and in order.
- The altar was a huge box — seven and a half feet deep, seven and a half feet wide, four and a half feet tall — made of shittim wood and overlaid with bronze.
- That raises the question he presses for the rest of the lesson: a wooden grill at home would burn up, so where did they get bronze that could cover this box inside and out and survive the fire?
Scriptures: Exodus 27; Exodus 27:1-8
Where Did the Bronze Come From?
- The altar account is not only in Exodus; Numbers mentions it as well, and Leviticus mentions pieces of it there.
- God laid it on the people's hearts, and they brought what they had — gold, silver, and bronze — so that the tabernacle held tons of metal: over five tons of silver, and roughly six tons each of bronze and gold.
- The wood could be cut and planked for its purpose, gold could overlay the holy place, and bronze would overlay the altar — but bronze first had to be fabricated, and that fabrication is the wonder of the lesson.
Smelting, Copper, and No Shortcuts
- A smelter takes minerals from the earth and combines them into something new; the reddish-black dirt around Copper Hill and the Copper Basin shows copper in the soil, but it is costly to mine because the copper is mixed with trash that must be dug out and burned off.
- Straight copper cannot be used: another metal had to be added at the right percentage or the bronze would not hold together and would disintegrate under heat — modern pennies carry softer, cheaper metals for the same kind of reason.
- There was no mail order and no store-bought shortcut; the bronze had to be worked down and made to adhere to the wood so that when the fire was lit to burn the sacrifice, the altar itself would not burn up.
- He applies it: three million people depended on this being done exactly right, with no alteration and no substitution — we have taken a whole lot for granted.
An Altar That Never Cooled
- A home grill used once a week is hard enough to keep up, but this altar had flesh on it from the rising of the sun to the going down; at night the coals were kept, the ashes cleaned out each day, and the fire started again.
- The horns of the altar had blood constantly dripping from them, and the work was heavy — priests together had to lift animals as large as an 1,800-pound bull onto it; a mound of dirt, a compass ledge, and a net surrounded it so the priests could stand and work.
- The ashes could not be dropped just anywhere or reused; they had a spot outside the place where they were taken and disposed of.
- Nothing happened until you went to the altar: you could not bypass it to reach the laver or the holy place — it was one way in, on God's terms, with no negotiating and no shopping for another way.
Built by Everyone, Made to Move
- The altar had poles through it for carrying, and the man who could say “I carry the altar” carried weight with everyone, because no one got to God without passing that altar.
- None of it had ever been done before: God gave the plan, then gave the wisdom, and every worker — linen, laver, posts — worked in tandem with the others, thinking from start to finish, until Moses assembled the tabernacle.
- It also had to be engineered to pack up and move whenever God said go; nobody could sit it out with excuses, because if any single part was missed, the entire camp suffered.
Exodus 35: The Willing-Heart Offering
- Even a man who had given truckloads of gold still had to come through the front gate with his own sacrifice and kill it on that altar — what he gave did not exempt him from what was required of him.
- He reads from Exodus 35, where Moses tells the congregation to take an offering unto the Lord from whoever is of a willing heart — gold, silver, brass, blue, purple, scarlet, fine linen, and the rest of the materials.
- Those with a willing heart understood the value not only of giving willingly, but of then participating in the sacrifice that was required of them.
- The altar was the place where a sacrifice would be accepted or denied: done with the wrong attitude, purpose, or motive, a person was stopped at the altar and could proceed no further.
Scriptures: Exodus 35
Bring Your Best — and Make It Right with Your Brother
- You cannot come to the house of God halfway: the offering was the very best that had been separated, cleansed, and washed — not scraps kept back so we do without nothing, which he calls a lie from the enemy.
- Getting close to God costs something — old lifestyles, old friends, old family ties — and churches are full of people who struggle because they will not come to an altar and sacrifice.
- We don't want to, as he puts it, Matthew it: bring a sacrifice to the altar while we have ought with our brother — the lesson says make it right first, then come back; the value of the sacrifice stops while we refuse to go.
- What is killed at the altar is done: you do not live under condemnation, and you become a living sacrifice — and it is not a condition of what you have in your hand, but of what you have in your heart.
Scriptures: Matthew (book-only, as spoken)
A Willing Heart in This House
- This past Sunday showed what happens when hungry people recognize their need: seven were baptized, the room was full, and the question becomes whether we will give up our chair so new folk can come in.
- He tells of the tornado that took the church's building: a pastor friend said God must really trust them, and since the tornado the church has doubled in size in rented buildings and warehouses.
- Everything depends on learning to use the altar: if his children think they can bypass it, he has failed — but if they understand its value, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren will understand it too.
- He closes in prayer: speak, Lord God, lead us in the plain path, and let us understand the value of bringing our sacrifice to Him with a willing heart.

okay do anybody know the code word who was said they'd be at home watching online I catch them now there you go they just look at you a buttermilk I don't know anyway glad you're here tonight man this is March wow march here we are the month of January if you recall I'm going to quickly go over the month of January we had we talked about God's desire to spend time with his people if you'll recall God gave to Moses to his people he gave them everything they would need all the directions and the the exact dimensions materials everything they would need to Fab abricate a sacred place is that okay so we talked about that in January and how that it was God's desire to connect with humanity and and as long as they would do it according to what he said he would bless he would move he would be with them and they they would be a A peculiar people set apart folk and then last month uh Brother Gibson spent the month talking about what we bring to the T Tabernacle to the house of God and and and
all of the things in 2025 vac anybody brought a goat tonight or anybody have a sheep or anything we need to yeah there's one right there got you gotcha go okay we'll deal with him later right so we don't with in today's terminology though we still have things that we can give to God that right in fact if you have yet to learn how to put God first therein is your first lesson let God be first in everything you do then all the other things will be added well there's your topic for a Year's study huh seeky first the king yeah tonight we are going to pick up it's a month of March and we I spoke about the generality of this then Brother Gibson talked about bringing then to the opening what you would bring this past Sunday some of you may remember I talked about the wall of separation this linen curtain that 150 by 75 uh big rectangle we talked about the the specifics of what God told them to do only because if if you're ever going to make a sacrifice to God your first lesson to learn is separation
all right again Brother Gibson mentioned about how you would have to take the sacrifice of an animal you'd have to separate that animal for two weeks 14 days you'd have to protect it make sure that it was taken care of before you'd ever consider bringing it right so tonight though we're going to pick up with the very first item that you would see once you walked into the Tabernacle Exodus chap 27 is where we will pick up exod 27 verse number one anybody have their journals make notes write that down Exodus 27 verses 1-8 can somebody read for me please Exodus 27 1-8 we're loud voice somebody keep going verse two with brass somebody verse three okay verse four someone okay verse five say six M seven verse eight okay thank you guys there's a bunch more you can read but this is the the idea the plan of the altar when you go into the Sacred Space you've got you can't
see it on here but uh hopefully you've at least looked at this you've got this beautiful curtain of colors it's red and blue it's linen you've got cherubims if you will and and gold inlay that's into the material this is very specific you can't get in any other way somebody say one way in that's what you do so don't let anybody lie to you that there's more than one way to get in one way in if that's the case then this was very very specific to the Tabernacle now because of this entr entry curtain when you brought your animal when you brought your wave offering when you bought brought your heave offering when you brought your blood offering whatever happened to be you would have to come to there and then the priest would service you there they would somebody outside ask you what you were doing they would get
all the information and then before you could walk into this sacred ground let's call is that okay a tabernacle they would verify make sure that you were indeed an Israelite that you had all the things you needed what bloodline you were everything had to be done decently and in order somebody say Amen thank you when they came in though into the area of the Tabernacle the first this huge amongus box was sitting there called The Altar seven and a half feet deep 7 and 1/2 ft wide 4 and 1/2 ft tall does anybody remember Sunday how tall the curtain was around it around that white linen curtain 7 and 1/2 ft oh all right we're going back to Sunday I'm joking it was so that that's that's this right here you know my span is four feet so um you add a little bit to that that's a big box um made of shittam wood or Cayo wood because of the area of where they would have been from
now they would overlay then that wood with bronze I I don't really understand this anybody here have a grill at home what do you cook on your grill what what kind fajitas chicken ribe eyes sausage right anybody ever cooked baloney yeah oh oh big old stick of balone on my smoker come on somebody that's the will of God right there in your grill that you have at home how much of your grill is made out of wood why is it not made out of wood but this altar was made of wood that's what it says covered in bronze stay with me stay with me the wood that was used we could understand that because you could find a tree of this particular type of wood you could find a forest with it and no doubt that's what they did and along their Journey they they had gathered and they had brought this kind of wood but the question that that comes to me in in a in a very very strange way is where did they get the bronze
now according to when you read the story here of course this is not just in Exodus numbers mentions it as well Leviticus mentions there's pieces of it there when you cut down the tree you would then know I'm going to take this and make planks of it because it's going to be used for the wall of the Holy place we overlay it with gold whatever or it's going to be used for the altar we know we're going to Overlay it so it's going to be protected the fact though Still Remains is that when you're talking about bronze you're talking about a process to actually fabricate the bronze the only reason that they would use bronze why God gave that to them is because Gold's melting point is very low bronze is upwards to 18900 de before it begins to melt if you will
now there there's something here that's very interesting I want us to understand where does somebody go and find enough bronze to cover this box inside outside upside side downside every piece of it where do you go to get that now the Bible said that God spoke to them and he laid it on their heart they went home and they said I've got gold that I can give I've got silver that I can give I've got bronze that I could give okay and so we could see in our minds we could understand that there's an incredible amount I told you this when we studied the in January the amount there's over five tons of silver in the Tabernacle just silver equally six tons or so of bronze was used in the Tabernacle equally silver bronze and gold about the same and
all of its uses now I don't know about you but I don't carry six tons of gold many places so go go with me tonight it's just about a quarter after 7 I've got a little bit of time here I think this is going to be very important for us to understand there is a system called smelting a smelter is somebody who understands how to take minerals things that are in the Earth and to combine them with other things and in that combination of things they can make a separate or a different thing I you know what we we're very close to a place that could have possibly some of this anybody know where copper Copper Hill is Copper Basin anybody know where that's at oh this is a what's it called Copper Hill anybody ever been there aside from them did you ever wonder when you're driving into Copper Hill the left and the right there you're going by these PL what what color is is the dirt it's a dark reddish black kind of stripes and stuff through it's in my opinion it's pretty ugly dirty looking because in that soil there is
a degree of copper okay copper in and of itself for you and I is very very very expensive to mine to pull out of the ground it's very cost ly because it's that copper is not solid copper it's actually got all kinds of trash in it so you have to dig that rock it's what it is out of the ground and then you have to process that to get all the trash out of it so that once you are down to its final element you've got some copper that you can use here here's the question then is how would you find enough of that that copper that mineral to be able to melt it down and have enough to build something like this this could not be paper thin bronze wrapped around a piece of wood it would have melted within moments
now to get bronze if you do your homework I did I did a little little digging here to figure out how this could be done uh the fact is is that the children of Israel did not have Amazon they couldn't make a phone call to a bronze plant someplace and mail order and have them drop off big old sheets of bronze it was just not not available some of y'all would wonder that no mail order none of that bring it to your door kind of process but what they would do is they would Harvest out of the ground copper and then they would have to pound that into smaller pieces and then that would have to be burned and they would have to melt off burn off the trash you cannot use straight copper you would then have to add 10 to it and it's like an 85 84 89% depending on what you're going to use the bronze for you have to add a percentage of 10 otherwise it doesn't get strong enough to hold together and as soon as you put heat to it it disintegrates
so if you're going to use for an example now anybody got a penny in your pocket probably not many of us you can probably find one in the parking lot out there but the new one ones what do they have in them zinc they put zinc in it why or aluminum even why because it's cheaper and it's softer and so it's easier to to handle it's easier to make stay with me believe this or not we're going somewhere the challenge then would be to take the wood and make the box that was needed fabricate that in the size that it would have to be and then you would have to take the actual bronze material and work it down into a way that they could then apply it to the wood keep in mind you could not go to Home Depot and buy bronze colored paint like I would have and if I'd have made this I'd have went or that one even that's Plastic Man that dude's Hightech and then I took bronze colored paint and painted it
listen to me carefully the challenge now is to make sure that in the wood box that they built they would have to make sure that the bronze was done correctly so that it would stick to the wood so that it would adhere to the wood and so that once they lit a fire to put in there to burn up the sacrifice that it would not burn up the altar as well somebody listen to Pastor a minute I think we are discovering in our study through this year just to the month of March that you and I have taken a whole lot for granted we we look at this and and we see the little thing and we're like man that's just really cute that's just really neat let's go eat and the fact is you've got three million plus or minus people that are depending 100% on them getting this right no alteration none you could not have substituted something here imagine if you will Moses telling
okay guys this is what we're going to do we need an altar we got to have a place where we can burn sacrifice and those guys that Bible said God gave them wisdom right and God give them the understanding they needed imagine those guys getting together standing around the The Watering Hole or the water fountain there and say hey guys how we going to do this listen to me you that that so-called Grill you said that you have that you like to put chicken or steak or ribe eyes or sausage or fajitas whatever on how often how long does it take for you to cook that steak my wife accuses me sometimes of not letting the fire get hot cuz man I like to put it on there flip it over all right one more time okay I'm out I'm sitting down blood's coming out of it man I'm as happy as can be that's me that's me others I hear them go I go to a steakouse with some folk and they say hey I need you to get it
well done I'm you just ru can you just cut a shoe in half that's probably the same listen to me and you get to do that how many times a week a month you know I'm lucky if I get the grill out once a week does it sound about right is about right in my grill I try my best to keep it pretty but it is so hard some of y'all laughing cuz you know you couldn't even find your grill it's all busted got rust coming out of the bottom you barely had put aluminum F over the great you know CU you don't want the rust to get yeah okay listen to me and that's just with using it once or so every couple weeks this altar in this from the rising of the Sun to the going down that altar had flesh on it and then at night the coals would sit there under it and then they would pull some of the coals out and hold them cuz the next day they clean
all that Ash out and they put it back under there and it would start that fire again historians declare that the horns of the altar which basically is the four corners of it were actually substantial pieces of bronze that were sticking out like would be a horn and on those was a constant connection of blood dripping off of it come on I I told y'all this Sunday I'm not the strong guy but I can't imagine a 1,800 lb bull being brought to me and me having to put that dude up on there all dignified you know what I'm saying got my linen stuff on and I'm trying to you know that's what Hollywood version says but reality says we got to get with this thing I mean we're going to have to get up under it we're going to have to I I need we're going
come on priest help me out we're going to put this thing up here because it's required by the sin that that family just brought here listen to me carefully when you understand the value of what they did at an altar everything depended on that Sacrifice from that point forward and if you were going to try to cut corners and bringing your sacrifice well be it to you then if the priest who built it didn't do it correctly the Bible says it even mentions a compass that's not a needle in this application but if you'll notice here there's aound of dirt because the size the sheer volume of the altar the Bible says they put a mound of dirt around it and they set this altar on it underneath it is where the air flow comes you see that and there's a screen what we would call it's called a net what they refer to it there in your in your reading this entire box would have to be
so strong this whole 7 and 1/2 ft across and fires under every bit of it and it's burning it's not just a little coal like in the Middle with your steak on top listen to me this thing was GNA have to be so capable of holding whatever animal that was brought turtle dove lamb goat sheep Ram calf whatever was required anything that would be brought it was going to have to be dealt with on that altar listen you will you will not pass the altar you cannot come into the Sacred Space and decide you're going to bypass the Altar and go right to the labor of water and reach in and get you a cup of something to drink well number one it' be full of bloody nasty mess CU that's where they would wash stay with me so this ledge the compass around the perimeter of it is where they would actually get up on and they would stand there and there from that point they could
see what's happening with this sacrifice now we think that when we read these Old Testament scriptures that it's easy to look at and to say hey that's pretty cool somebody put together this little example this little plastic thing that's about an inch square and that that's a pretty good replica but I've come to tell you friend they didn't have a replica because this was Heaven or destruction to them death or life because if they didn't do it according to God requirement God would not accept it any of it and God had already de demonstrated multiple times before this thing was made I can stop you right now and kill every one of you I can breathe and wipe out this entire Camp stay with me a moment when you think about that it was a painstaking ordeal to Simply accomplished the purpose that God had given them there was no microwave in process says ding
okay let's pull it out we're done none of that happened but I want you to understand something every single part every single detail was incredibly challenging to accomplish nothing about this was simple nothing nothing about this Tabernacle was easy nothing yet from the early morning coming up of the Sun to the last before the sunset went down this altar was constantly being used and every evening they would have to make sure they dressed it according it was read here in the writing in Exodus 27 that the flesh Hooks and the spoons and the bowls all the things that were needed to you know what they couldn't even reach in there and get the ashes from all the previous animals and take them and drop them anywhere around they have a spot outside of this place where they could take those ashes and get rid of them you could not touch those ashes once they were removed from the altar
so it wasn't like you could take it hey come on somebody that you could take and all right I'll take this to a farmer and he can put this on his on his garden my grandpa used to take ashes from this fireplace and put them in the garden because it has minerals in it and it adds it into the soil you couldn't do that with this it wasn't low wasn't permitted also come on somebody help me 10 hours 12 hours a day of sacrifices being made how many ashes do you think there'd be how many and everybody here says a bunch a lot what are you going to do with all of that but understand nothing happens in here until you go here nothing you don't get to the holy place until you go here you don't get to the water till you go here you don't get any place you don't make another step when you step in there there oh somebody got to hear me you might want to write this one down the priest is going to be standing there saying what business do you have in here you're not going to
come in here and shop and act like if this ain't what you want you'll go find something else can I in 2000 if you don't like this church you can go try another ain't going to happen God going to say that's one way that's it that's all you got and if you're going to be mine and I'm going to be yours you're going to do it this way we're not going to arm wrestle about it we're not going to negotiate terms we're not going to talk well I know you're had this special thing and I know that you don't like blood and you get kind that's what it was that is what it was Stay With Me so just to Simply get the bronze fabricated to a place to where it could cover the wood so that the wood was not consumed in and of itself was one of the most incredible chores that you would have I went over Sunday in somewhat detail of how they made enough flax linen to make those curtains man that's a lot of work imagine that notice as
well can y'all see this on the screen up there I'm sorry this box 7 and 1/2 ft four and A2 tall 7 and 1/2 ft it had had a rod that went through it what was the rods for one on each side for what imagine carrying this guy how cool would that be huh what's your job I'm a toer you're a what I I tote things I'm sorry I carry the altar listen to me at any place at any ball game sitting in the stands at any family picnic at any family reunion at any company outing if you sat there and somebody asked you what you did and you said I am one that carries the altar do you want to know what kind of respect that you would gain from everybody sitting there because they realize if I don't get past the altar I ain't getting to God right there that's that's where it starts that's where it starts the linen the gold the silver the bronze the shamwood the C
all those the molds the patterns everything that's in this listen to me had never been done before they didn't have another Tabernacle 10 years earlier God gave them plan then he gave the wisdom to them to know how to do it and they acted and they began to work you could not listen to me I don't know a whole lot about building but I know a few things I can't stand here and wait on this to be done before I start that I can't wait for that to be done before I start that thing in my brain I've got to be thinking from the start to the Finish what needs to be done so that I can organize it in my mind youall understand that about building something doesn't matter what it is right imagine the guys that are building Moses gave him the the the the plan God began to give him understanding but there is no way that the lady who's working on the linen had to wait on the guy who's working on the labor of water or the one who's working on the post that's standing up in air they're
all working in tandem one with another before they ever assemble it they've got this thing whole thing organized to where once they're ready and God gives the signal put it together the Bible specifically talks talks about that and Moses assembled the Tabernacle imagine will okay 2025 postco anybody know the two befores are Bill Billy and show up today we ain't sacrificing anything today well man we're we're almost to the year mark we we got I got to go in the most the holy of holies because my year mark is up barthol I told you know I told he needs to you know somebody's G to to talk to his mom he's she needs to get him out of bed anybody seen Frank yeah he's playing video games back at his tent basement listen to me we laugh about it because in today we've accepted the society and the culture in which we live nobody could afford any of that every single person had to do their part if it was missed the entire Camp suffered every item was engineered had to be built you know I I I understand I understand when I can build
something I can drive a 100 Nails into the ground to hold it in place huh I got trying to help Brother Sam over here with his house and I got a little nail gun 2inch nails on it buddy I can put 400 of those in something and hold it right in place 61 screws touch it now that's what we doing man we got boxes and nails that are all over the place this thing not only had to be fabricated but had to be fabricated to be able to move it when God said oh time to go gather it up gather it together wrap it up put it on the carts put it on their shoulders it's time to move you can't wait so not only did they have to know how to fabricate it fabricate it but it had to be engineered to be able to transport it to pack constantly
listen to me please this altar in the Tabernacle was always soaked in body fluids Bloods slobber spit from anim always it dripped from the horns it was constantly saturated in sacrifice this was not an easy task can I help somebody at 7:36 on a Wednesday night would you let me help you a minute if you think for a moment that church needs to be easy and fit your schedule and your time and what you do you have already missed the entirety of Heaven it's going to cost you it's going to cost me you're going to have to decide I've said this a million times here's a million and one you will not accidentally show up in heaven you're not going to wake up one day and go oh where am I what gold Jasper no not going to happen it's going to be because you are constantly doing what God asked you to do and you're going to give yourself completely to the things of God
all of these things now I'm going ask you how long do you think it would take to make that linen curtain 150 7557 how how how long you think it'd take to make that 24 hours all right 24 days 24 years I don't know how long you think it would take to go find listen to me to go find enough seal skins in the middle of the desert to cover the outside of them we're going to go seal hunting really I'm sorry I thought you said seal I me say sea line oh that's that's what that outside skin because it was waterproof where are you going to get enough red dye to dye these Linens purple red blue where you going to get enough we could almost understand the gold that would be wrapped around these poles but how can you explain the thin gold thread that was woven into the curtains do you understand what God was requiring of them I don't think we do and for whatever reason though we want to make getting to Heaven as simple as can be
come shake my hand be my friend and we'll be okay and that ain't what it's about friend of mine the altar is not a pretty place it is a place of death and dying and there's a whole lot of work that went into that altar I'll say this about every church service if you'll recall this altar is the safest place for you to be you know why I say that because at an altar is where you can die it's where your sacrifice can be given but it's also the way that you get into the rest of the blessings of God the altar your talent your time your ability to invest in the things of God you listen to me even though boy I'm going to get in trouble I'm trying to watch my clock let let's just say let's just say you were inundated with gold huh you had pounds of it sitting around the house I mean verely truckloads lots of gold and you decided in your heart I'm going to give
all this gold for the building of the Tabernacle and you're going to back your U-Haul up just put it right here all right you made your donation didn't you how many believe that's a great donation why don't we try that anybody got gold want I'm joking do you realize that the one who brought 47,000 lb of gold or 92 million pound of bronze or 621 whatever whatevers whatevers whatevers was still required to come through this front gate with his sacrifice and kill it on that altar Pastor don't you know who I am don't you know what I gave to this church don't you know my value I shouldn't have to do that tell me you tell those guys that every single one of them gave what they gave and then when the time came they stood at that gate this is I've had this thing separate for weeks
now I'm bringing it to him I've got it ready hey didn't you give all that I did and I'm thankful to be standing here today because God's going to help me Exodus 35 I'm trying to watch my clock Exodus 35 verse number four Moses spake to the congregation of the children of Israel saying this is the thing which the Lord commanded saying take you from among you an offering unto the Lord whosoever is of a willing heart let him bring it an offering of the Lord gold silver brass blue purple Scarlet fine linen goats hair Ram skins died red Badger skin sh item wood oil for the light spices for the anointing oil for the sweet incense the onx stones the stones to be set for the ephod and the breastplate on and on you can read out of Exodus 35 this is what we discovered those who had a willing heart
listen to Pastor for a moment those who had a willing heart understood the value not only of giving willingly but then once that was received they also were thankful that they had an opportunity to participate in the sacrifice that was required of them do you realize the guy with the 65,000 tons of gold that just backed up to the tent door and dropped it off to be used if he had a transgression in his life he would have died had he not been able to bring that and kill it there on the Altar and give it to God Whoever has a willing heart let him bring my my message my lesson tonight before we transition is simply this the altar was the place where your sacrifice would be accepted or denied and what you did at the altar would determine the entire Journey you took through the Tabernacle through the sacred place if you did not get it right at the altar you would not proceed forward if you had the wrong attitude the wrong purpose the wrong desire the wrong motive if it was not done according to the law of God you would
be stopped at the altar and you could proceed no further Pastor why are you teaching this way because I'm going to tell you something in our day and age in which we live the entitlement mentality is going to kill you listen to Pastor I love you and I want you to understand something we're all in this we're all trying but you got to know something if you're showing to church to Simply say I went to church and you're not giving 100% when you're searching your heart you've already robbed yourself you cannot halfway come to the house of God your desire has to be Lord I've got to get in your presence I've got to get to the house of God so that I can learn and I can grow and I can understand and I can be humbled and I can submit to your plan and I can understand that whatever is required of me I need to do it be willing to do the best that I can
so at the time of sacrificing an animal it was here at this altar that a man would come with the very best that had been separated that had been cleansed that had been washed and brought it to the altar to die see some of us would more better understand probably in our modern culture Lord if if I can just bring you scraps that way it's smarter I I don't have to do without my best and at least I bring something that's that that's what you call a lie from the enemy I don't know about you but if you're spending time in prayer and you're talking to God you're recognizing very quickly how very small and insignificant you are and the more you recognize that if God even speaks your name it should humble you and drive you to your face to where you desire to be close to him and to get close to him is going to cost you it's going to cost you some of us wonder why we're having to give up old Lifestyles or old friends or old family members I mean living for God ought to be able to have
both worlds come on we live in a world today that's trying their best to push that under understanding and it's making its way into every church house that's why y'all okay with me 7:45 I'm okay I got time brother drawn that's why we're our churches are full of folk that are so messed up they're having to seat counseling outside because they don't want to come to an altar and sacrifice you can kill something on the Altar and it's done we don't want to Matthew it bring a Sac bring a something to the altar but we have ought with our brother what's the lesson say and make it right come back is that what it says but everybody that's listening to me we've been guilty of saying Lord I come to church today to love you and serve but you got
all with your brother yeah I'll be right back the value of that sacrifice stopped right there cuz you didn't trust God to hold it for you while you went and made things right I thought God would make it right no he said for you too that's a hard lesson for us to learn isn't it brother D would you come that's that's an exhausting lesson for us to learn because it cost us when we understand the value of the altar we're going to talk about this over the next several weeks on Wednesday nights and on Sunday when we understand the value of the altar does anybody here ever fell apart and did things wrong come on don't leave me out here by myself I have multiple times I've say this a lot there's no no just simple Roar of angels Wings in this room right because none of us are perfect yet we're trying where we want to do right we want to succeed we want to submit to what God's doing but we struggle with ourselves because we're human anybody ever struggle with humility or Pride or arrogance an or unwillingness anybody or that just
me if you do then what do you recognize I didn't kill it at the altar the power of the altar even teaches us today and you don't live under the condemnation it says there is therefore now no condemnation to what those who what so how do you how do you get in him you kill you take you do you do away with there and then what happens come on and then we can roam in it we can say I'm a Living Sacrifice that's what but I got to get there before I'll ever be a Living Sacrifice I got to understand the value of that otherwise I will justify qualify I'll sanctify myself I'll get myself to a place to where I can just do just fine and I can walk right around that altar wondering why I can't get to the labor to be washed there are
so many incredibly powerful things that manifested themselves when the people of God got it right we can't even talk about some of it because we don't know we don't know I do know this God's faithful Amen to Exodus the writing in Exodus says that with a willing heart you you bring that it's not a condition of what you have in your hand it's a condition of what you have in your heart would you stand with me it's about 10 minutes to eight I'm I'm okay I'm okay right all right okay the whole reason that we are spending an entire year on the Tabernacle I need somebody to listen to Pastor for just a moment then we're going to transition this past Sunday service of events was not just an accident it didn't happen because I was here or you were here or you missed or they were here or they wasn't for that it was because when people are hungry they recognize their need for something bigger than them and they begin to
look for it what an incredible challenge that we as a church here on on Lee Highway what we faced on Sunday I'm just going to reference it because it just happened I mean we baptized a couple but seven we were scrambling looking for towels and yes now how many know what I'm talking about that don't happen every week it could come on everybody who just said amen are you going to give up your chair we had 110 in this room we got 165 chairs that's all we got and you want seven every Sunday guess what I ain't baptizing all of y'all every Sunday brother Dan be War smack out trying to get listen to me what that means is we got there's new folk got to come in you understand I'm saying now here's my question are you going to give him your chair and you go walk back out in this world what are you going to do Pastor I'll give up my chair and I'll stand at the back wall Pastor I tell you what I'll do I'll give him my seat and my whole family go sit on the carpet in the
front because when you have a willing heart to see the value and the power of God work in somebody's life it doesn't matter what you have to do one of the greatest concerns Sunday after the fact was this the water is going out of the tank it's getting soaked up in their clothes isn't that right brother Dan listen to me this is what I I want to say to you if we expect that every week that means new folk have to be in here every week which means that we have to be loving and worshiping god with hands open and when we're going to see the next step in a new facility or another place it's not going to happen because we're cute and because we have a church sign on our wall it's going to happen because God says
look at them what I've given them in their heart they are coming and they're bringing it and they're working it out and I'm working in them I can trust them with it last thing 752 when the tornado the infamous tornado we talk about it's part of our fabric is that okay that's part of our church one of my dear Pastor friends when he found out about it on Facebook he called me and he said' man I I'm sorry your tornado got your building I said Bo it's it's okay he said wow God must really trust you I said what do you mean he said because if God would have taken it from some they would have closed up shop and walked away apparently there's something there we run the numbers since the tornado we have doubled in size in rented buildings and warehouses throwing money and paint and carpet and whatever brother Don had a guitar in the church I found it I glued it back together and gave it back to him
listen to me what's the next step Pastor I don't know but I know this if I don't learn how to use that altar none of this hell none other is going to matter if my child doesn't understand the value of that Altar and what it's going to take if he or she thinks for one moment they can bypass that they can walk around it and not go there I have failed the church is not going to be successful but if I can get my children to understand the value of that altar then my grandbabies are going to understand the value of that altar then my great grandbabies are going to understand the value of that Altar and when it comes to doing the work of God it all starts at the alt altar lift your hand to the Lord before we sing
come on somebody you ought to put a praise in your mouth right now and offer it to the Lord God you're a good God come on somebody lift up the name of Jesus thank you for the opportunity to be here oh what a powerful powerful thing to Know You Lord and to serve you speak Lord God lead us in the plain path show us the oh God let us understand the value of sacrifice the value Lord of bringing that sacrifice with a willing heart to you oh come on pray Come on talk to God right now Lord It's a midweek University but I've come to love you and I've come to lift you up right now in the name of Jesus oh come on somebody in the name of Jesus lift up a shout of pray God I love you today I bless your name
